I have the Ultra- which dropped from $100 to $80 when the One came out. I don't need the One because I don't have a smart phone. To me it seems like the Xip is just a souped up pedometer- correct me if I'm wrong. Not sure about any of the fees but I would check around in the stores if you can. LOVE my fb.
Do you have Best Buy, Staples or other electronics stores that might carry it in your area? Many stores including Amazon on the internet carry Fitbits. Please look around and see if you can purchase it locally.
I live in Texas and do not now about your Canadian fees. I do know things take longer to arrive.
Hope this helps

I am just about ready to click "send" to order a fitbit zip. The website says it may take 2-4 weeks to arrive in Canada, and will have customs fees and carrier fees. Anyone have experience with this, and know approximate additional cost?
Given this bit of hassle, is the zip worth it? What are the advantages (if any) of the one as a starter device?
I need to lose at least 20 pounds, prefer to lose 40, and fine it hard to stay motivated and stick with regular activity.
Looking forward to your comments and great insight.
