Thanks ROCKMAN 6797...Just wanted to say thank you so much for suggesting I contact the FITBIT site about my lost FITBIT. I did contact them as you said but I didnít really believe they would do anything about a lost FITBIT. I had even thrown away my rubber clip it fell out of, thinking I would never find it again so why hang on to it, but I just got an e-mail back that they are going to replace it. and I should have a new one in 7-10 days ... I still can't believe it for who in this day and age would replace a lost item. I can't thank you enough for e-mailing me to try.... and you can bet I will be bragging about their customer service for a long time to come!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I emailed the helpful folks at fitbit, and was told the clips will be eady to ship by mid February.....

Must be busy turning out the flex.

Now, I don't want to be too down on them, but I took a good look at the "clasp" on the bracelet for the flex. Looks like two inserts that go into two holes on the bracelet. All made of rubber, I guess. D'ya think it will maybe stretch out?

D'ya?

GUITARWOMAN:
I didn't relay the entire story. When I realized that the clip was wearing out, I ordered 2 of them (@10$ per) then, the more I thought about it, the more I decided that 40$ a year was an unreasonable maintenance expense and wrote them a cordial email (the e-maill was cordial, but by this time I thought myself into a pretty frothy lather).

They were very nice, responded in 2 days with a request of a photo of the damage, which I supplied. They said they would send me a replacement "once we had more of them." Maybe, you ordered after "they were out of them?"

Meanwhile, the 2 I ordered arrived in very short order. I was a bit surprised.

Since I have the Ultra - I was worried what would happen in my docking/charging station broke. I e-mailed them to see if I could purchase an extra station and they are sending me one for free :)

Oh boy, I was working on getting the One off my bra so I could charge it, and it slipped right out of the clip.

Shades of things to come?

BTW, I ordered an extra clip, my order has been sitting around with no processing fo a week.

You know, I think fitbit should give us all a bonus (a new flex?) for essentially beta testing their products, and reporting on problems here in the interest of quality assutrance.

What do you think?

Yay! My husband found my fitbit in a grocery bag. It must have popped off when I was bringing in the groceries. Customer service responded in less than twelve hours. I am impressed. But after the scare I am still considering buying the flex and having it as a backup.

It is nearly always the same flight of stairs. Up and down from main floor to bedrooms. 16 steps. Sometimes it registers, other times not. If it has not, I often go up and down 8-10 or more times to try to register at least 10 flights for the whole day if it for some reason has thought I only did say 6 flights and I know I have already done 10 or more.

My One's rubber "case" is getting a bit too pliable. The One will pop out of it when I'm taking it off/putting it on my bra. I don't know if it's do to body heat making it softer or what. I'm thinking of looking into a replacement "case" too.

About the stairs, you have go up a certain number of feet in elevation for the device to count it as a flight of stairs.

So, if you have a short flight of stairs, it may not count.

I do not seem to get accurate readings of how many flights of stairs I have gone up or down. Does anyone else have this problem? It sometimes just thinks I have not gone up or down anywhere as many flights as I actually have.

Mine has escaped at night, but the worst problem is that the band comes undone during the night. I now put my watchband over it so that it is less likely to come undone.

Lily,

Try getting a replacement. In my case the issue might have been that I lost an Ultra. They don't have any more Ultras available, so a Fitbit One would have been an upgrade. Maybe they will replace the One for free. I don't think so, but it's worth a try. In any event, if they offer you the Fitbit One for $49.00, the offer is good for a year from purchase. So you don't need to decide right away.

Good luck!! I agree; losing my Fitbit has been extremely traumatic. I lost two days trying unsuccessfully to get them to replace it for free. I probably won't get it until sometime next week, which means it will be 2+ weeks without it. Really upsetting (though I realize in the scheme of life it is not a big deal).

Went out today and lost my fitbit one. So sad. This is worse than stepping on the scale. I'm debating whether to replace it or wait for the flex to come out.

It looks like they are no longer replacing Fitbits for free. I lost my Fitbit Ultra last weekend. I am still so mad. I was in Philadelphia at a dog-friendly hotel. I took my dog for a short walk at the park right across the street. When I went to check to see how many steps I had, the Fitbit was gone!!! I tracked my steps many times (of course I am not sure exactly where I was but the park is small). No luck. Checked all over. Finally, I had to give up.

I reported the lost Fitbit, and they offered to replace my Ultra with a Fitbit One for half price ($49,00). I questioned why they wouldn't replace it for free when I knew that they had done this in the past. They said they have run out of Ultras, and that they have tightened up their replacement policy. The half price policy applies to situations where it is the user's fault (lost or broken by user carelessness). I am sure they are still replacing them for free if they stop working and are still under warranty.

I ordered it on Friday. I imagine I will get it some time next week (it has not shipped yet).

I understand because the policy was incredibly generous up to this point. I am hoping to get the Flex when it comes out. Just not sure if I want to wear the bracelet but it seems like it will help to resolve a lot of problems.

Been using my fitbit for several months and it recently stopped functioning it many respects. Wasn't syncing. Wasn't tracking. Display would go blank for hours.

Took a few diagnostic emails back and forth, but I am happy to report that fitbit exceeded my expectations in the area of customer service. Expecting a new fitbit in the mail sometime this week.

We have two fitbits and their customer service has been amazing for both. I use the Ultra and broke the belt clip; emailed them and they replaced it. My daughter uses a One and she washed it, she put it in rice (as suggested) and it worked for several days after but then quit. They asked for it back but also replaced it free. She paid the shipping fee to get it to them but they paid the shipping to get the new one to her. No questions about it, they are great to work with!

My Fitbit had the same number of steps when we left the house yesterday and the same number this morning. I synced it before I went to bed and this morning I did it again this morning for yesterday.
We went to eat and parked away from the restaurant. I did some more walking that did not add into the total.

I do not know if this has been addressed yet, but someone wrote about their one escaping the wristband at night. If yours does, try turning the band over, so the slot faces your arm...that should solve the problem.

The new flex looks great as it is robust, on the wrist and less likely to fall off...I have just ordered one for my husband as it would be ideal for him. I have the FitBitOne and I love it...once I turned it around facing inwards on my bra, I have had no issues with it popping out or losing it. I did lose my first one as it fell of my bra, down my shirt and into the sewer grate as I was running :-( FITBIT were amazing; replaced it for free and I am back with my tiddly friend racking up the mileage....I love the tool and have found a good way to work with my ONE but love the concept of the FLEX....Cheers

I am kind of new to the group and am wondering if any of you are planning on purchasing the "flex" when it comes out in the spring? Love the product but don't want to lose it. I am having the same problem with the "one" getting worn. It pops right out sometimes. It falls out of the wrist strap at night as well.

I am concerned about the clip that holds the One as well. It is very soft rubber, and the device is in and out of it a lot, for sleep and for charging.

Fitbit sells replacement holders. I think I will look that up and see if I can get away with a reasonable price, given that I am in Canada and have to deal with shipping, etc.

I have been using the one since I got it in November...the holder with the clip has already show early wear and will not last much longer...I like the device but if I have to replace the band every 3 month I will have to rethink its usefulness.

BERINABOB there are no phone numbers to call. The company wants all commuications to go through email I have found they usually answer emails at night time Allow them up to 48 hours although it depends on how many messages they are getting

someone mentioned locally that a lot of being are having syncing problems due to the weather and att is having issues with a lot of their cell towers recently which is causing a lot of internet issues

HELP! Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I haven't been able to sync my zip for 2 days. I've looked over their website but don't see any phone numbers to call and I had sent an email yesterday but haven't had any response from them. Do you know if there are "real people" associated with this company?

My aria would not sync with our wireless connection no matter what we did . Did everything correctly at least 10 times and nothing happened so it was deemed defective The emails between me and them seemed non stop. Since it was still on amazon's return time, I returned it to them and now going to wait for another to come in so I can try it again.

They are amazing!!

I bought a Fitbit One after having my original fitbit for almost 2 years and two weeks after receiving it, I went swimming....with it on.

I contacted them to see if there was anything I could do to get it to work again and they responded quickly and sent me a new one within the week.

I also bought an Aria Scale this summer and after months of trying to figure out why it seemed inaccurate I contacted Fitbit once again. I figured they would give me steps to calibrate it, but instead they asked me to weigh in 5 times consecutively and they would look at the results to see if there was an issue. I did and they said it was defective and there is a replacement one on it's way! All I had to do is provide proof of purchase (I bought it in June at Best Buy).

They are incredible!! And I am so thankful!!

Everybody tells me that they would love to knit, but they don't have time. I look at people's lives and I can see opportunity and time for knitting all over the place. The time spent riding the bus each day? That's a pair of socks over a month. Waiting in line? Mittens. Watching TV? Buckets of wasted time that could be an exquisite lace shawl. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

I find if when I link my zip to my computer it unlinks from my IPhone 4S, and when I link it to my phone it unlinks from my computer. Has anybody been able to use both?

Try and use ePulse2. You can not upload the recording but you can definitely record them.

would be great is fitbit had a third party company who could send their product out quicker than they are presently doing it Most times it is taking 2-3 weeks with two notifications they have sent it Would also not hurt to upgrade from first class to priority shipping. More happy clients that way
