I've had two experiences with customer service and this is the first time I am posting something about it...both times, I have to say I couldn't be happier with the response.

This most recent time, my flex had started to hold less and less of a charge and also has started to sometimes not be able to be awakened. I did all the suggested troubleshooting from the site with no improvement and submitted a support request. The reply was quick, and after some clarification on my part, a new flex is on it's way. (mine will be one year old on June 14) Anyway, what is nicest, is that there was no hassle from them about my issue, no demands for more dinking around and this is basically what happened when my charging cable had a problem. good company responsiveness!

Every day there is a life fight, and every day we respond to that fight. We may not win each battle, but we will win, with great effort, enriched character and gained wisdom, the great battle that constantly challenges us in our daily lives. - Unknown www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9aJtO0VCqw

My fitbit went missing this morning... Then I realized it was
on my bra in the washing machine. Stopped the cycle and
with bated breath checked to see if it was working.
It was fine and I am so relireved. Good on you Fitbit One.
Second time it's had a bath and it is fine. I don't want to do
that again in a hurry.

I have to admit that when I bought my first Zip in 2012, I had an issue with CS over the delivery date and a refund I was due and was not happy with them at all.

A year and a half or so later, I have come to rely on and appreciate their ever improving service and am also pleased with how much work they've done to improve the iPhone app.

I am on my second Zip now (lost the first one) and still really love the product. It keeps me moving.

I hadn't heard of the rash before now so I googled it. Interesting to say the least. Guess I'm happy I only have the Flex and not the more expensive Force.

Towards the beginning of November, I purchased the Force and sent my Flex back. Towards the beginning of January I started getting the notorious Force rash (Google it - it's all over the web) so I returned my Force to Best Buy on the 14th. I still opened a ticket, and FitBit sent me a Flex, which I received today. I will be in the ranks again. :)

We can go the distance with patience and endurance.

I accidentally washed my fitbit one recently, afterwards I followed the steps to get it back on track, but it still didn't work. I contacted Fitbit support, following all the requirements, within a few days I received my new fitbit one they sent me! Very Thankful!

I am 5'0'' and I used the FitBit default to figure out my steps per mile and for me one mile falls at 2,552 according to others who reported on the FitBit site this seems to be pretty close. stride length is probably a little more accurate however since height doesn't necessarily determine the length of ones legs.

Help......I found this forum and thought someone might be able to answer my questions. I got a Fitbit zip after Xmas. Linked it to my computer and still not sure if it is accurate or not.
Maybe, I've read too many websites.
Let me say I am only 4' 11 1/2" but saying 5 foot makes it easier. I followed the instructions and it said my stride length is 1 ft. 6 inches. I know it takes more steps to cover the same distance. I've been trying to keep up with my husband for 42 yrs. who is 5' 10". OK. I tried that entry and I am walking for example---4973 steps = 1.43 miles

So, different things I've read are 10,000 steps = 5 miles

Then I read--- Step length = 1 step BUT stride length = 2 steps

Then the average woman 5 foot tall walks 2514 steps = 1 mile

Then I left the entry empty and the default took over and the fitbit customer service says default is base off what I entered ...height, age and gender-------then my walking changes to 5345 = 2.09 miles.

My main concern is 2.09 is default based off my age, heath and gender and is supposed to be close to accurate--why when I enter in the "right" stride length according to customer service that the numbers change so drastic?

Customer service said she doesn't know where they came up with the 10,000 steps and I shouldn't multiple by 2 to get the stride length but her way I am using step length. and....right now today I have walked 2143 steps = .58 mile

I am a woman, age 61 and call me 5 ft. for easier figuring. I walk 20 feet = 13 steps

Note: I am not lazy--I walk 4 miles on a Tony Gazelle and wanted to keep track of my "other" walking just want to know the accurate way emoticon to calculate it!!!!

Anyone know how to calculate--begining to not believe customer service!

I'm having some trouble with my FitBit Flex. I've only had it since Christmas and it has never held a charge for 5 days as indicated it would. It appears to have completely died today as it recorded no activity after 5:45 this morning. I did a forced sync and still nothing. I attempted to e-mail the company through the link found on the website (not easy to find by the way) and when I click send I get a message from Desk.com that tells me the page cannot be found. What is that all about?

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Wow, I wish this topic had been on here about a month back, I had a FitBit Ultra and it got wet one too many times from sweat and finally stopped working so I went out and got the new Flex; which I didn't like and promptly exchanged for the One. I guess I will know next time to check with Fitbit first.

Contacted customer service about two weeks because one of our fitbits was not working. They attempted to help us on the phone with no success. The representative politely said he would send us a new tracker and it arrived on time as promised. No complaints from me at all! I wish every business was this easy to deal with.

So true. We need to measure our steps by marking the start and stop of 30 steps then measure the distance and divide by the steps taken.

CMbronson - I wish I got 5 miles out of 10000 steps. Each person is different. I have a 23 inch step (thanks to years of marching band), so 10000 steps for me is more like 4 miles. I would have to re-do the calculation, but I'm pretty positive I only get like 80% of that. I would be sure to measure your steps so you get accurate distance calculations.

Mamasita, I'm sorry you had such a rough time with them. Fortunately, I've had nothing but good luck with them.

I lost my fitbit somewhere in my neighborhood and spent a few hours with my husband trying to find it. No luck. I was going to just write it off but someone on this team suggested I contact customer service. I did, and had a new fitbit in my hand, no charge, even though I had lost it.

Granted, it was still in the warranty period, but they were fast and gave me no argument at all.

I wish I could say I love my Fitbit, but their customer service was so horrible I never got the chance. I ordered the Force as a Christmas gift on December 2, 2013 unaware that it was backordered from their own website. On December 15th I received and email saying that it was shipped and expect to be delivered on the 19th. On the 19th I did not receive the package and looked up the tracking number and it said it was delivered... but to where I'd like to know. I looked on my porch, in my locked mailbox and asked a few neighbors about the package... and no luck. I contacted the USPS who delivered the package for three days straight before being told that it was misdelivered and lost. During this three day period, I also contacted Fitbit for help via email because that's the only form of contact I could find. What kind of company doesn't have a customer service phone number? That should have been my first clue. To be fair to fitbit, it wasn't their fault the post office misdelivered the package. But the lack of help to come IS their problem. First, I sent them an email explaining the problem of misdelivery and that I have called the Post Office and contacted neighbors with no luck. I got an email back from them telling me that it was delivered on the 19th and that I should contact the Post Office and check with neighbors. Are you kidding me? Did they even read my email? I then asked them via email to please call me directly because I didn't want to communicate via email and that I'd like a replacement Force shipped out ASAP as it was a Christmas gift. My next email from Fitbit was another apology and finally a phone number for me to call them back. Another day wasted, closer to Christmas. I called them the next day during their customer service hours and waited on hold for 23 minutes before finally getting a live customer service person. Surely they do this to avoid speaking to you directly so you will correspond via email. Well I explained my situation with the CS person and she read up on all the notes and emails, and I again asked for a replacement to be shipped out Fed Ex overnight so I could receive it on Christmas Eve and give it as a gift. I had to FIGHT long and hard with this CS person and be put on hold for another long time period while she got approval from her supervisor to go ahead and ship the replacement out Fed Ex overnight. I was extremely happy and thanked her for her help.
Christmas Eve I look at the tracking number and saw that it should be delivered by 10:30am. At 11:30am I contacted Fed Ex and was told that Fitbit generated a shipping label, but that Fitbit did not give Fed Ex the package for delivery. Are you kidding me! Way to drop the ball Fitbit. I sent Fitbit an email with instructions to cancel the order and refund the purchase price. On Christmas day I received an email back from them again apologizing and offering to give me a free 6 months to their Premium Membership which costs $49.99 for 12 months. Tell me what good 6 months of Premium Membership will do me if I don't have a Fitbit Force. NO THANK YOU!! I called Fitbit today and this time waited on hold for 35 minutes before getting a customer service person who couldn't help me. I waited again for a supervisor who gave another apology(if you could call it that...more like a he said/she said excuse). He did offer to ship the item overnight and give me a 15% refund($19.49), but I don't feel that is adequate. Enough of the he said/she said excuses and own up to your mistakes. I told the supervisor that I would not cancel the order if they overnighted the package and gave me a 25% refund($32.49) but he refused. We fought round and round over a difference of $13. He was willing to lose a customer and take negative comments over blogs and social medial all because they weren't willing to give me an additional $13 refund for a total of $32.49. So they are sending me the package Fed Ex overnight because it was to late to cancel the shipment and sending me via email a return shipping label. I don't know the exact dollar amount for overnight shipping and return shipping, but I'm going to guess that it's quite close to $32.49 give or take a couple of bucks. I'll tell you...if this is the way they treat customers before we have their products, I'd hate to see how they treat their customers that have product related issues. Fitbit has definitely lost a customer for life and I will let everyone that can hear my voice know.

I'm new here but I am another one singing the praises of the Fitbit Customer Service. Last summer, just shy of a year old my Fitbit Ultra started cracking. I sent them an email then but after seeing other photos of cracked Fitbits I figured mine was in great shape. Then, earlier this month it died completely. I still had my older emails, resurrected the request for help and yesterday my brand new Fitbit arrived. I feel like I was lost without it!

My flex has stopped holding a charge and takes forever to charge. The strangest thing, it was at 3 dots then when I looked back again it was down to 1 dot. I am waiting for my case to be addressed. I hope they have a fix for this.

Go to your FitBit dashboard. On the right top of the page click on the settings icon. Then on the left side click on applications. That should give you the option to add SparkPeople so it will sync

Make sure your bluetooth is on. Uninstall and install it again. I have the Note 2 and that worked for me!

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

Ma-King have you tried making sure your battery is fully charged. Turning it off, wait a minute then turn it on and then synch it.
I had that problem once or twice but I looked somewhere that said to do that and when I did, I did not have problems again.
Hope that helps you

I have the fitbit one and love it. I only have one problem with it and that is it will not track when I'm on the elliptical or bike properly.
I also want to say that customer service was great at helping me when I had a problem changing my account from one email address to another. They were able to do it for me and I did not have to start over. Yeah!
As for the
Flex, my son has the flex and loves it. He says it tracks all his activities very well.

does anyone have the fitbit flex. I can't seem to get it to sync to my Samsung Galaxy III. It suppose to be a wireless sync.

I had a fit bit zip, and of course I thought I loved it, until I didn't want to sleep with it on. So I put it next to a shut off computer, and the next moring it still tarcked the computer some how, and I had 3900 steps. then the next day I put it into the bathroom. there I had a radio, that was turned off. yet it still showed 400 extra steps. Then after that I put it into my bedroom , on the dresser. My kitten sometimes jumps up on the dresser to sleep. Well, the fit bit zip still kept tracking. Finally I sent it back. but because I BOUGHT IT ON EBAY, AND NOT FROM A DEALER, I JUST GOT MY MONEY BACK. I THINK THE PERSONS KNEW THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. there WAS THINGS ABOUT IT THAT I REALLY ENJOYED, AND I STILL DON'T KNOW IF I REALLY NEED ONE TO ACTUALLY EXERCISE. I THINK 10,OOO STEPS IS 3 MILES A DAY. lately I HAVE BEEN DOING RESISTANCE, AND BIKING.EVA

I purchased my fitbit in 03-12, and it pooped out 01-13, got replace and then just pooped out again very recently… It will be replacing it a second time, (BOTH TIMES FREE OF CHARGE TO ME!!!) I wanted to let you know, its a great idea to buy from Brookstone. I purchased a 2yr. warranty for 14.99 when I first bought it there, and will be using this warranty a second time!!! (even though its probably my fault for not always wearing it, and recharging it… *****AWESOME.!!*****

Just a little useful info. that can save you some $!

Ma-King- I agree. Contact customer service. They can check it and see if it's a software or hardware issue. I had a similar issue with my first one and they replaced it immediately. Do it NOW, before Christmas when customer service gets slammed for a few weeks.

MA_KING, if you send an e-mail to Fitbit with a scanned copy of your receipt and a description of what is going on, they will most likely send you a replacement. They have for many others that have had theirs, some for even a couple of years.

Actually, the information from SP food log does transfer to Fitbit and displays in the Fitbit food log although the transfer doesn't always work perfectly; for some reason at times not all of the foods logged on SP will make it to Fitbit.

I do not believe the transfer of food information works in the other direction (Fitbit to SP) and exercise information only goes from Fitbit to SP and not the other direction.

Kay place your mouse pointer on each icon and Right click on the mouse if you use a left handed mouse then it will be left click. Check properties on each one if they are the same then it does not matter which one you delete and you can right (left) click to delete. Thanks for the reminder, but since this was a replacement Fitbit and I had already established the link in the past I don't think that was the problem.

On the other hand, after viewing my "profile" which I discovered did include all the information I was looking for, now it all displays from links on the dashboard tile for calories in/out just as it did in the past. Problem solved although I have no idea how!

Recently I accidentally wore my Fitbit Ultra while swimming. In the ocean. Snorkeling. So stupid. Of course it quit working. When I e-mailed Fitbit Customer Service and fessed up they walked me through keeping it in uncooked rice for a while, resetting, etc, but when it didn't recover they sent me a brand new Fitbit One at no charge!! I didn't even have to provide a receipt or anything. Unbelievable.

I like my new Fitbit One, but I am puzzled by one thing. I log all my food on Sparkpeople and the calories consumed cross over to Fitbit but the Food Plan remains blank and there is no visible log of the specific foods I am eating on the Fitbit site. Any ideas?

The fitbit support staff asked for invoice, if third party supplier the address of the supplier too. If you have a scanner you can scan the forms either PDF or Picture (JPeg). then email that information with your fitbit email address. You might go ahead and contact Fitbit to get the ball rolling. They will check your email address to see if they can get a response from your fitbit. If you have a picture of the problem if the fitbit just needs supplies. I wear my zip on a chain around my neck so it is not in my clothes.

Granny do you have your invoice or sales receipt for your fitbit? If your email fitbit and can scan and email the receipt they should get you fixed up. My husband and I both had our fitbit quit about a week apart and they replaced them. We bought ours in June. If you need the email address for fitbit let me know I can get it for you.

I bought the Zip March 1st of this year.....one month after back surgery..I was determined to get back on track. I could try but to be truthful it did go thru a wash cycle (cold setting) and I caught it before thrown in dryer....so I am assuming that it stretched due to my own dumbness

How long have you had your zip? If you, like many others have done, take a picture of it and e-mail it to fitbit customer service explaining what is happening, they may send you another one free. They have done that with many other people for all kinds of issues.

Water is very important for us. We may, and I do, require more than the 8 glasses a day. The link goes to a water calculator I use to see what I need for my current weight. Mt requirement has dropped 9 ounces due to weight loss. Yipee!

I have a Fitbit Zip. The clip does not seem to be all that secure any more. The zip has fell out a few times. Thank goodness I was somewhere that I found it easy....the bright pink helps. I went to the Fitbit site and priced the clip at being $14.99. Thing is I bought the Zip for about $30 when it was on sale and had a coupon so paying for a clip that is half that price just is not in my budget right now. emoticon Just hope and pray I don't less it cause I would not be able to replace it right now while paying off Dr bills

I have found the same thing that the spark is most accurate with the stationary bike when I use it but when I am walking and dancing I have found the fitbit to be more accurate so I use both however at different times in the day. I like both for different reasons and I was content with my fitbit however I just had to get a spark tracker because I love everything sp comes out with. regardless what you have weightloss really takes determination and consistency.

Thanks for the info. Someone said she had hers on while she was on a bike of some sort and it registered it that way. Do you know how it could do that? The fitbit registers exercise but not the type.

I have both and each of them has their own benefits so to say which one is better depends on each individual person and their routine. I like them both for different reasons and use both of them at different intervals during the day however I never wear both at once

I don't but I know some that do but not the fitbit so don't know which is better. Oh yes, the other knows everything that is exercise and records it as to the type?

Try the sync link on your fitness page. It's blue and small print.

I went to Spark a set up a step goal, but I can't find the word SYNC. I know it's there right in front of me.
Thanks for trying to help me.

Did you go into fitness and have it sync there. It needs set up there because the info in your dashboard is different for the fitbit. The numbers that go with it are not the same. I had the same problem.

It's is syncing with the Fitbit dashboard. I installed a new device with an existing user, and it worked. However, I also need it to sync with Spark. Yesterday, I had almost 6000 steps, but Spark said none. The dashboard was on target.

You need to re sync this unit with fitbit. It's set up to record your old one.

My first zip Fitbit quit working and displaying. Fitbit sent me a new one after we worked on some different ideas. I didn't know they were going to send me a new one until after I ordered one, but that's alright. I have a back-up.
My new Fitbit is working now after taking a while for me to figure out how to follow their directions. Finally I understood. However, it's not syncing with Spark. It's has the same amount of steps on the Dashboard as on the Fitbit.
What do I do to sync with Spark? Spark says 0 steps. I know Sunday is an off day for me, but my 3000 or so steps should show.
Does anybody have any answers? Apparently it's syncing with the Dashboard.
