Cross, Several days ago you asked if we belonged to groups in our local communities or just SparkPeople. I couldn't find anything on your SparkPage to indicate where you live. I suggest you start out by seeing if there are any teams in your geographic area. Most states have at least 1 team, often covering a specific city. Here in Arizona, we have at least 7 different teams. That allows you to - hopefully! - find Sparkers in your area to do activities with.
Otherwise, I have joined www.MeetUp.com . There are hundreds of groups of people who get together for different activities. I'm a member of a couple of beginning hiker teams. There are teams for yoga, zumba, biking, skating, socializing with others your age, movie goers - the list is endless. Give that a shot!
Hope you find some exercise buddies soon!
Claire ******** Those who think they have no time for a healthy lifestyle will sooner or later will have to find time for illness.
Went with Daddy to town this morning. At Lowe's, they had a hotdog wagon out there so we got lunch there. It was really good but didn't need it. Fixed some strawberries after I got home. They are so good.
Hello All - It has been a few months since I have been here. It seems that life just keeps going . I have gained muscle, but the scale doesn't reflect any weight loss and sadly the transplant team will only look at the scale numbers. I'm still working on getting down to 175 to start testing to see if I can gave my husband my kidney.
I am working on eating just what I can grow myself and get from the local farmers. I am working on drinking more water and not eating after 8 at night. My workouts right now are mostly mowing the lawn and hours and hours of gardening each day. I do plan to start adding in more workouts.
I really need support with this though.... do you all belong to groups in our local communities or do you just belong to groups on sparkpeople?
Sorry to hear about your hearing loss. I have had a hearing deficit for years (since my college days many years ago). Mine has not progressed to the need of hearing aids but I always look at the person head on to make sure I don't miss anything.
I have not lost any weight since the beginning of this challenge but then it is not a week yet! I know one major side effect from antibiotic use; it can cause irreversible hearing loss which I experienced after the illness that caused my kidney failure. I now have a cochlear implant on one side and a strong hearing aid on the other to allow me to function; not perfect but I thank God for modern technology! I now can hear in stores doctors offices, church, and in most homes. Noise and echos are still a major problem. I'll check out your link
Claire just keep going! I was on a plateu once for three months! I kept eating healthy and tracking it and exercising with nothing happening on the scale but my body was changing - I lost a dress size but no weoight... weird huh! Just hang tough!
Paula that is AMAZING!
Today is day 5 for me with my new schedule and plan and I am doing well! I have lost 4 pounds in a week - (lost 2 before I started my new workout). Today is my free day - walking with other things like cleaning, laundry, mowing the grass... I think I may choose to do a few spark videos again - I have having success with them and I am trying different ones each day to see what I like.
Love your kidneys team! Jean

Hi! Happy May! It's raining here, and I love it! Finally the green's coming out! My goal for this month is to have a smoothie on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I have trouble sticking to my plan on weekends, so hopefully this will help fill me up and not eat stupid things like 4 pieces of toast with peanut butter :)
I'm at $4,200 with my fundraising for the Kidney Walk!
I'm working on keeping all the promises I make to myself - I'm worth it!
