I can't have grapefruit or orange juice with my medications for my heart & stains.
I was in the sun & got burned-now I have white patch on throat. this is a reaction to those drugs, grapefruit juice & the sun.

interesting that s/he would say that. On all the lists, orange juice is very very high in potassium. I wonder if this is a transplant difference?

What we've been told (I'm a caretaker for transplant recipient and donor) is that regular orange juice is fine, but grapefruit, blood orange, mandarin and pomegranate are out.

I looked it up to make sure but Orange Juice is as bad as Grapefruit Juice, so be mindful every one of this.

And thanks to Claire for posting this.

Also Orange Juice, is another culprit, especially if you are on Dialysis.
I will say my former PC Dr. told me this years ago, not to take any meds with Grapefruit juice or Orange Juice. I always take my meds with water, and not ice cold water, but tepid water.

From NBC News:

"If you kick-start your day with a glass of grapefruit juice, be careful.

Canadian scientists say the number of common prescription drugs that can interact badly with the tart citrus is climbing, with the potential for dangerous, even deadly, results.

Twenty-six new drugs that can cause serious harm when mixed with grapefruit have been introduced in the past four years alone, bringing the total to 43, said Dr. David Bailey, a clinical pharmacologist at the Lawson Health Institute Research Center in London, Ontario. That’s an average of more than six new drugs a year."
