Started using primers about a year ago.
I always use eye primer....it makes my eyeshadow last all day.Currently using Sacha(carribean subsidary of MAC).
For me face primer gives a matt, flawless finish. It both softens lines and reduces appearance of pores.I sometimes use it alone; without foundation or powder.
Right now i'm using Avon magic face perfector in translucent.

I have been using makeup since I was umm like 5 haha and I've used a variety of different primers. Primers have the unfortunate reputation of making your skin feel oily. However there are in fact many wonderful primers that can help your makeup stay on all day. I love how primers make my face feel smooth and silky. I've used Too Faced Primer, Smashbox Photofinsh is great - I use it when I help people with prom makeup, personally I dont like Urban Decays primer - thats just me. Oh Hard Candy's is good..you will find it at WalMart. Dont forget that if you will be photographed you shouldn't use anything with SPF - the light of the flash will make your skin look super white. Good luck.

Primer does make a huge difference if you find the right kind for you. Like Larae329, a lot of the primers make my skin oily. A lot of the products out there for mattifiying skin can also act as a primer as well.
The better ones do cost a little more so I would suggest doing a test. apply primer on half your face then apply your foundation. See if you can see a noticeable difference. If it's a good primer it will help with fine lines, pores and make your foundation go on smoother.

I have a perfect body. I just pad it for protection.

I also just recently started using a primer. I have tried Laura Gellar's spackle, and the face primer by YBF, I want to try Too Faced poreless primer and the original by Smashbox. I prefer YBF over Laura Gellar, I don't like a primer that leaves me feeling oily.

I am just slowly learning about primer. Someone gave me a tube of some. So I try to remember to put it on under my foundation -and always wonder if makes a difference. Wondering what a good primer should do..Isn't it bascially to fill in the gaps. pores, etc? Also wondering what primer brand do most use? :)
