This is the last day of the month! I'll start an August Chat tomorrow.

The kids and I stayed in a hotel last night. I'm going to call my mom to see if the electricity was fixed yesterday. It was just too hot to stay there.

Hi, team! I decided kind of last minute to drive 2 hours with the kids to see my fiance. I knew she would be at her dentist appt so we surprised her there. She makes great tacos so she cooked for us and we had a nice visit. Made it home 20 til 1.

I really don't have any energy right now but I'm going to have to get out of here. The air is out.

I got on the scale this morning and it wasn't pretty, but I'm not down about it which is a surprise. I have been steadily gaining weight for the past 3 weeks. I think my thyroid is out of whack again. MY eating habits haven't been the best but to be gaining the amount of weight that I have been doing is crazy! I'm just going to take it one day at a time. For today I'm going to eat healthy and track what I eat. I'm also going to exercise for at least 15 minutes. I didn't get a chance to do that yesterday. I see my doctor Monday so I'll talk to him about what's going on with my weight. I'm determined to be healthy--mind, body, and spirit!

I've decided that today is going to be a good day. I had a rough night last night. My mood was all over the place. I talked to my partner this morning. She is so supportive. I'm headed back home so we both are sad. Once school starts back I'll be living here on a permanent basis. Can't wait for that. I need to set some goals for myself today.

1. Write in my journal. Get my feelings on paper.
2. Exercise for at least 15 minutes.
3. Locate 4 articles for assignment.

I didn't start having weight issues until after I stopped breastfeeding my 2 child, so around age 27. It was an adjustment. I stayed depressed about it. Then coming up to my 10 year high school reunion I lost over 40 pounds doing Atkins. I kept it off for over a year. Then gained it back plus some. Right now I'm not worrying about my calorie or carb intake. I've been stressing because I can't seem to stick to anything. I know low carb works for me but I can't stick to it for long. I've decided to just keep a food log for this week. And next week work on making improvements. I've got to do something that's going to be lasting.

*peeks in* Sheesh things have been so busy I've not been able to check in and such! However, I'm proud of myself.. I've pretty much been maintaining in my absence! Now to get back into keeping track and working out. Hopefully money will loosen up again and I can afford to start going to the gym again. *crosses fingers* I miss it. I guess that's a good thing. But yeah.. that's been my life right now.

Thank you, Celia, for being a motivator! I agree that this team needs a little...spark ;)

I have been overweight all of my life and although am over the going to the gym hurdle, I had always been intimidated by group exercise until recently, trying Hatha Yoga as well as Zumba. I've thrown my self-critic out the window and am just going for it :)

Great job on kicking things up a notch. At least you're making progress. I'm going in the opposite direction, but I've decided to get back seriously focused on my eating and exercise Aug. 1. I've been under the weather. Lots of health issues. I'm just giving myself a little break from all of this. I've been too stressed lately.

I had a quarterly fitness appraisal on Tuesday.. I'd lost 1.8kg (~4lb), 1cm off my bust, 2cm off my waist & 3cm off my hips.. but my trainer said it should have been better considering I do 2 - 3 classes/hours at the gym each week.. and asked me to keep a food diary. *grin*

So I stopped being superlazy and put the effort into updating my sparkpeople nutrition page.. and went to the gym for 6 hours this week.. and in 4 days I lost another 1.3kg (~2.6lb) taking my total loss to 3.1kg (~6.8lb).

If I can lose another 2-3kg (~4.5-6.5lb) in the next fortnight I'll be thrilled to order my wedding dress! (not to mention that I'll be ~30% to my total weight loss goal!)
