I'm glad I read that. It supports what I'm doing for my lifting days quite well. I used to be a pump and push guy, working to fatigue all the time, but I've gotten to a higher weight, fewer reps, all compound movement workout that I really love and I am definitely getting stronger.

My workout now is 5x5, using three compound exercises per day. I do squats every workout and then on A days, Bench press and barbell row. On B days I do overhead press and Dead Lift (which is done as a 1x5, not a 5x5).

I started at 60% Max, adding 5lbs to the total each workout (10 on deads) if I complete my 5 sets of 5 in the prior workout. I always warm up with an empty bar for 5 reps to get form right, then add 10 pounds and do 2-3 reps until I get to my 5x5 weight then do my 5 sets of 5.

It's a fast workout, but I can feel it working. The squats each workout takes some time to get used to, but since it's such a big muscle group, it really is worth doing. My legs feel so powerful these days.
