Don't fear weights or weight training. Putting on muscle does not make you unfeminine, and combining weight training with cardio, like High Intensity Training or supersets, will produce muscle and allow you to sculpt your body. Having been on this journey for awhile, you obviously understand it is a long term commitment, and work you do today and this week will show up next month and next year, so be patient and persistent. Measure yourself to you can see progress...photos, body composition analysis, and even weight, and vary things up to keep from becoming bored or creating muscle memory that robs you of your exercise.

Hi Marie! It's good to see you here. What an extraordinary transformation you've been through. I, too, went through a shift of cardio to ST oriented workouts. It took some exploring to find what sort of ST exercises and regimes suited me. In 2012 I managed to finish the 6 year process of shedding over 130 lbs. I'm very happy with what I've achieved. I used to strength train but have focused mainly on cardio. Now that I'm a blank canvas without layers of adipose tissue to hide my body, I'm ready to start focusing on gaining muscle and toning up. My body is an athletic build and my muscles respond very quickly to strength training, so I'm looking forward to this new adventure!
