8.5 hours. I go to sleep when I want and I wake up when I want... and my body has regulated itself to 8.5 hours, give or take 10 minutes or so. Any longer and my body hurts and I usually have a headache.. any less and I'm grumpy and annoyed all day.
I try to get 8-9 hours of sleep a night. Sometimes I will sit up and read or watch a tv show but I always regret it when I have to wake up early the next day. I sleep surprisingly well. It hasn't always been that way but I find now that I am retired I am more relaxed.

i get 5-6 hours but find that 8 or more really makes me motivated to do more in the day. broken sleep is a huge issue for me..i take an ambien some nights in the middle of the night to get back to sleep.
