I have, in fact every year I give some of my gifts away to someone else (usually to my mother in law). My Grandfather usually goes shopping for gifts every christmas, in spite of my Grandmother asking him not to. Every year each of us gets a HUGE tin of nuts, another huge tin of cookies, chocolate covered cherries, and soap, soap and more soap. They are usually super smelly soap too that I cannot stand. But it's not that I don't appreciate it, its just when I say everyone I mean everyone: me, my husband, and my two boys. Way to much, so I donate it to my mother in law who keeps company more often than I do (which is pretty much never) as well as the soaps.
There is inspiration everywhere, find it and use it.
Keep trying, at least then you did more than nothing at all.
You betcha. i come from a long line of people who never through anything away, so I've got, literally, a barn full of perfectly good old stuff. The children of friends (kids in their 20s and 30s) are thrilled to get these "vintage" items - lamps from the 1950's, a pile of handmade tatted lace from the turn of the century, And what was I going to do with it besides let the mice eat it? Let them enjoy it!
Pray to God, but row for shore.
