I got a stability ball and resistance bands. Target had 1 pound weights, ankle/wrist weights, jumpropes, and a few other things for $2.50 each - we got a bunch of that stuff.
Does anyone have on demand on their cable? There is a whole section of FREE workouts. I have done a great ball workout, a five minute cardio routine, dancing, walking, etc... Saves room on the DVD's.

What I usually do at home is Yoga. I have a mat, candles and soothing music to get me going. I find by doing a few poses for about 45 mins gets my heart pumping. It's great for you mind, body and soul.
I too need to purchase some weights for strength training. There's always of course the huge bags of rice or beans in the house...hehe :)

I have been doing strength training and "yoga in chairs" dvd and walking. 5 days ago I got a recumbent exersize bike and I love it. I also have some free weights that I use.

Probably one of the best investments I ever made was the weights that are several all-together. There are several brands -- I think reebok makes some, danskin, nike. They're hard to explain, but they work great, and you can have 3 - 20 lb weights in the space that just one pair of dumbells would take up. Because I've been weight training a long time, I actually do use those 20 pounders sometimes! But you've got to start low and work up to it.

I'm also working out at home-I have 3-pound dumbells for the biceps curls and I don't need any equipment for lunges, squats, etc.I've bought Kathy Smith's kickboxing workout and currently doing it twice a week,it's amazingly enjoyable.

I don't have time to get to a gym, with my schedule and my husband' schedule, someone has to be there for our daughter! I have an elliptical machine, a resistance band, and I have also found myself using soup cans for weights...we are going to buy some dumbbells this weekend (PAY DAY!!!). But I find I can get a good workout with what I have in the house!

We have a gym room in our house..(but) I am not allowed to use it..when I was able to use it, I really enjoyed it..only b/c we don't have to share it with others and there sweat.. I think its a great investment if you have the room for all the equipments..My husbands uses it 6 days a week and he also does the cardio in there..on the other hand you might get lonely if you like working out with people..

I've got dumb-bells (10 lb each), plus more free weights (hand me downs), an exercise band and the whole collection of Billy Blanks DVD/VHS tapes. I use everything in my house to exercise with...chairs (for balance), large soup cans (if I'm not up to the 10lb weights some days). I've got a small house so I use whatever is handy.

Did U try that video in today's feature, Coach Nicole's Jump Start Cardio Work out! WOW, it's great. It's just like it says, anytime, anywhere without any equipment. And she tells about modifications to make it a little easier or a little harder. I loved it and saved it to my favs so I can do it again tomorrow!

I have a set of 3 lb. dumbbells (I also have 5, but I have to work up to those), a yoga mat and a step and it's amazing how much you can do with just those things and a chair. I also have an extensive collection of workout videos and I have a book called "Workouts for Women: Circuit Shaping." It has ten different circuits that you do the strength training all the way through without any breaks (unless to drink some water) and it increases the amount of calories you burn.

Hey girls! What excercises do you recommend for the home? I am thinking about getting bands.
