DH and I went to the flea market yesterday. It really felt strange not doing Sunday School and church. I did pretty well. We were there from 8:45 until about 1:30 and I did have to rest my hip several times as it was really bothering me. I tried some oils that were supposed to help with pain, and they did help for a bit....but that was a LOT of walking. DH likes to look in every building...there are two huge buildings and about 8 outbuildings and then all of the venders outside in between them all. We did almost all of the venders...I got more of my crystals and a pair of earrings. DH got some more albums, so we were both happy. I was sure ready to leave though! I did have a burger and some chips and an ice cream, but those were my only indulgences so I did pretty well!

Today the fridge came....tomorrow I will fill it with the items from the mini fridge downstairs and some items from the freezer. Will have to do a bit of shopping for dairy items, etc., although I did have some yogurt left in the mini fridge.

This weekend is the Memorial service for my friend that died suddenly....I hope my hip does well for that as well. I have to be there at church early for flowers, and the memorial service is not until 2pm so it will be a long day. I am praying it all goes without a hitch!

I can't get a massage until Thursday and my muscles are very tight, I usually then go to the Chiropractor afterwards-everything seems to fall into place when I am relaxed, otherwise it is a waste of time and money because nothing moves back into place!

Busy day here today. We actually got some sunshine! The rains are

Other then being tired I am starting to feel better. Work went well but I wasn't over whelmed with data. I even had time to add data to my spreadsheet that is part of my goals for this year.

Not to much going on here tonight.

Take care.

I really want to sign up for the diet today after work. I hope to leave work around 3 so I can go do it. I am the heaviest I have every been and it really makes it hard to breathe.
Glad your cat came back, Julie, and hope you feel better!
Shari, I hope you get over the fatigue. I'm hoping this diet will help me get over the fatigue too:)

Still not feeling so have been taking it easy. I finished laundry and have been spinning.

We just finished chores, now relaxing a bit before I go back to spinning.

My cat came back about dark last night. I don't think she wandered to far but didn't want to come in.

Take care everyone!

Julie, I hope your cat returns home safely soon!

Ida, when I use to garden, I would get like that too sometimes. My problem was going too long without eating; I'd get so busy and involved with what I was doing, that the time would fly by and I'd forget to stop and eat lunch.

Not much going on this weekend, still fighting the fatigue, but I know that is because my blood counts have not recovered yet.

My name is Shari; I have been a Sparker since July 2006, I am now in palliative care for metastatic breast cancer, but I'm not letting cancer stop me from Sparking!

I think I am getting a cold. Haven't been feeling well today. Went grocery shopping and did most of the laundry so I can just take things easy tomorrow if I am not feeling any better.

I have been spinning this afternoon.

One of my cats got outside I hope she decides to come in soon.

Take care everyone.

Just starting to get my posting done. Been working outside on our tree garden for 2 hrs. Trans planted 2 more Apple trees out of the pots I had them in. Wanted to get them done before it got too hot so they had a little time to settle in.
Taking a rest before I go back out to give my body time to recoup. I will only work for 1 hr. and then rest for 1 hr. in between each time. The other day I went too long before coming in and I got really sick. I was drinking a lot of water so I thought I was OK till I all most passed out.

Well have a great weekend everyone.

Today was supposed to be a productive housecleaning day.....did get some done, but the cleaning out of bird cages took much longer than I thought it would. I was a bit angry at DH since it is supposed to be his job, but he hasn't done it. We took a large bird in and honestly some times I am tempted to take it outside to see if it will fly away(just kidding!). The two smaller birds are manageable, but I sure am sorry I let him take this one! So nasty!

Then I forgot to turn off the air conditioner before I vacuumed up the seed, and blew a fuse, and our modem. We had to go out and purchase a new one.....argh! Still working on the house, it has not been thoroughly cleaned since chemo started! Starting to do just that....have a few rooms done and further decluttering as I go. Trying to find better homes for things that I feel I need to keep as well. It will get there, but I sure don't go as fast as I used to....now I have the fridge coming in and they talked DH into switching our TV service, so now we have someone coming to do that.....

Sometimes it seems like one step forward and two steps back...ate supper at 9pm tonite!! Not good!!!

Julie - DH and I have gotten paranoid about handwashing and disinfecting at the
first sneeze.
carole - Yay, Friday!
Shari - Glad you felt better today.
Kay - I have read about that garage sale. It would not do for me to go anywhere
near, I too am trying to reduce clutter with varying degrees of success.
Sue - I can sympathize, it has been one of those weeks for me. I hope the
weekend is better.

It has been a busy day. I am going to have to put in some hours working this
weekend but it will be peaceful. Hope everybody has a great weekend!

Deanna, so glad to hear of your good report!

I've missed a couple or so days on Spark; have had a hard time with fatigue this week due to not sleeping well, but I'm feeling better today.

Happy Friday!

It's a beautiful morning here in Tennessee. We will be going to line dancing class later today. The Route 127 garage sale is going on this weekend. It's a garage sale that goes from Alabama to Michcagan along Route 127. Route 127 happens to be Main Street in our tiny town. Traffic moves at a crawl through out town all weekend long. We avoid it like the plague while the garage sale is going on! I'm trying to reduce my clutter...not add to it!

Julie, how nice to have all your work done:)
Cheri, that was really nice of you! Have fun on date night!
Flred, I can't agree with you more!Yay! it's Friday!

Yesterday was a horrible day at work. I felt like it was my first day all over again for some reason. I was lost all day and didn't know what was going on and everything I tried to do, it seemed I couldn't do for some reason or another. I felt I didn't get a thing accomplished!

Busy days for me...walked the dog, went to deliver a food gift card to a friend who just had back surgery. Her Keurig broke so I stopped at Starbucks and got a gift card from there as well. This lady just had a baby, then had her thyroid removed(cancer), and now back surgery. In six months they will check to make sure the cancer is gone. She has been thru so much! Stayed there a couple of hours and went to visit my folks. Meant to just drop by and leave, but that didn't happen.

Cleaned up some- figured since the food in the fridge all spoiled and will have to be replaced, I might as well clean out the pantry and see what is needed. Trying to get things in order before the new fridge comes Monday......

DH usually takes me out to eat on Thurs. (date night!), so I had better get ready!

We had another warm but less humid day, but I spent most of inside at work. I was in early so came home early. I had no data on my desk when I left work today. I got a few other things done that have been hanging around.

Not to much going on around here. Take care.

What a difference a couple of days makes. This week we will have temps high 80-90. Night lows 55-60. The joy of living in the great mountains of Idaho. Today we are working on the 3rd project an most like the last for the year. We are trying to finish the boarders for the other side of the yard where the rest of our seedlings are now. The other area is finished for the ones that are coming in a couple of months.

have a great day everyone.

Haven't been on here a lot. Babysitting the grandkids this summer. School starts on Aug 10.

Had a follow-up DR appt with the radiation oncologist today. He did a pelvic exam and said he did not see any cancer, did a swab. He will order a PET Scan for 6 months after my treatment was completed, which will be sometime in Nov.

Went to the heart DR office and got a results copy of the ultra sound that was done pre-surgery. All I had heard previously was that I was cleared for surgery. I wanted something that I could read myself and have for any future reference.

Hope everyone is doing OK and having a great summer.

Ida, The pictures are beautiful. We planted several Douglas firs but the sheep ate them. We have a couple that are out side the pasture that had survived and are about four feet tall now.

It is a still warm but not as humid. After I am done here I am going to go see the sheep.
DH is out mowing, our grass is getting long but it has been just too warm to be outside mowing even on a rider. He has the day off tomorrow.

Take care everyone.

Here are some pictures of the trees we are growing and my apple trees and part of my garden. The trees were started as seedlings 3 years ago. We will be getting 50 more come the end of Oct the first part of Nov. Someone ask me for pictures and I can not remember who it was and what team so everyone gets to see them.

Thank you everyone! I think I will take a magnesium supplement today along with the potassium and B vitamins and see if that helps. I did cramp up a lot yesterday but nothing like the day before.
I still need to get my port fixed. I'm wondering if it being twisted has anything to do with the cramps? Maybe it's cutting off blood somewhere? It does go straight to my heart. I wish they would call me for the surgery to get it fixed! I think I will call the doctor today for sure.
Kay, I love that solar shade! It does look really nice and will probably lower the temps in your house a lot.

Cherie Ann - Sorry you are going through so much inconvenience.
Julie - Same here, our humidity was 96% at 10:30pm.
Shari - Good to hear that your counts are up. Glad you had a nice visit with
your cousin. I am sure it is a lot more comfortable not having to fool
with a mask anytime you go anywhere.
Elizabeth - Hope you had a good workout at your strength training group.
Ida - Yikes. I am a real hot house plant, I think I am freezing to death if
the temperatures get down to the 40s and 50s in the winter.
Kay - Your shade looks really nice. I particularly like the feature that you
can see through it.
Sue - Cramps are bad news. Your doctor needs to know the problem you are
having. I have had a problem with leg cramps before and my doctor gave
me a prescription that helped.

Nothing went right work wise today. It was hot, humid and generally wet today.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a great day for everybody!

Elizabeth~Glad your hip is improving. Mine is as well-I still need to be careful, but I walk the dog in the morning and feel fine so I may add some other exercise....

Sue~ I have cramping once in a while, I need to watch my potassium, magnesium and eat my bananas as well...I also make sure I get my B vitamins...

Kay~ I love that shade!

Ida~ Wow that is a wide range of temps! It has been so hot and humid here for so long it is hard for me to imagine!

Shari~Glad you are doing well and had a nice visit with your cousin!

The dog is recovering well from his surgery, he hates the "cone of shame" though. He has a tendency to take out his stitches if we take it off before he is fully healed though. We have to watch him closely.

I cannot wait to get the fridge...so tired of walking down to the basement for everything and no room for leftovers at all...trying to eat healthy gets harder without a full fridge. I need to get off the computer now and am planning an early bedtime. Soooo tired! .

Hi Shari,

Fantastic! Keep going!

"WBC is good this week! It's up to 1.58; still below normal, but high enough that I don't have to wear the surgical mask when I go out. Platelets are recovering nicely too."

Elizabeth, glad to hear the hip is starting to improve!

Sue, I hope the cramping better; I've had cramps in pretty much all of those places before, but not all at once, so I can imagine how miserable that must have felt. I never thought about low potassium causing them; I know right now my potassium is normal, but it's at the very lowest end of normal. I often get the cramps in neck and jaw when I yawn, but usually mine occur in the evening. I've had the foot cramps before also at night; they really do make it hard to sleep.

Kay, that shade is really nice!

Ida, it's hard to imagine those cold temps right now; we are getting some near 90F days here this week. I like cool nights, but not so cold where there is a danger of frost or freezing for gardens and crops.

WBC is good this week! It's up to 1.58; still below normal, but high enough that I don't have to wear the surgical mask when I go out. Platelets are recovering nicely too.

Had lunch out with a cousin from Massachusetts. She is in Michigan this week making her yearly visit back to her home state.

Kay, the sunsetter shade looks perfect and a terrific addition to your home. Lovely.

Sue, I have also experienced cramping. It can be quite painful. I am so sorry, but I do think your body is speaking to you. I agree with Sue that magnesium and potassium help, both of which I take. I use Natural Vitality Calm Magnesium powder, which you can buy on-line and eat my banana every day. Other foods upped my potassium level...potatoes, dried apricots. I also agree seeing your doctor on it is good. Have you seen a physical therapist on this? My PT helped me with this.

Off today for my strength training group with a few women led by my PT. I am working it! emoticon

Have a beautiful day. Love to each of you.

Sue.....

Hope you are feeling better today. Prayers are out there for you.

I am sure glad that I went out and covered my garden last night. The temp got down to 26 degrees and here it is only the 28 of July. We only have about a 30-70 day growing season up in the mountains. This is why I do a lot of growing in side. The temp will reach 70 today and tonight will drop down in the high 20-30 they say. Next week the night time temps will be back to 45-50 again at night.

Sue, I had to start taking magnesium due to cramping. Magnesium and potassium balance each other out. You should talk to your doctor to try to get things balanced out.

Not much happening here.....I plan to go to line dancing class this morning. Hubby is doing a lot of home improvement projects for which I am very grateful. On Sunday, he put a solar powered Sunsetter shade up on the south side of our house. The sun comes in real hard in that particular spot and had been fading out our furniture and making the house hot. We were amazed when the shade arrived. The color turned out to almost exactly match the house. We really like it from the inside, because we can easily see through the shade and the color almost matches the paint indoors too. It's operated by remote control inside the house! The little black strip on the left side of the shade cover is the solar collector to power the motor.

It has been really hot here too! It will be 107 by Thursday and stay that way for a few days. I would rather be at work too when it's that hot or at home in my A/C.
Yesterday, I cramped up all over my body. I couldn't type, every time I reached forward, my chest would cramp, then my fingers cramped, and then both sides of my neck. Finally, my boss asked if I wanted to go home, I was in so much pain. I tried to lay down but my feet cramped, and when I laid back in the recliner, my chest area would cramp again. Everytime I yawned, my neck and jaw would cramp.
I have been taking potassium because of the cramping but it sure didn't seem to make any difference yesterday. The night before I lay in bed for 3 hours with my feet cramping and could not sleep, so I was happy to go home early and take a nap.

Ida - Gracious, hard to picture freezing weather when our temps are ranging between the
upper 80s and the low 90s.
Elizabeth - It is unfortunate but true that the saying "move it or lose it" isn't just a
cute saying but a hard fact.
Julie - I can sympathize, our current humidity is 88%.
Shari - I hope your report is good.
Carole - I hope today was better.

Today was a little more productive. I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.

Had a good day today. We got a lot done. Working on our 3 project and hope to get it finishes by the end of the month. Had to cover my garden tonight as the temp is getting down to 32 degrees tonight and then 34 tomorrow night. It is fun living in the mountains.

Be back tomorrow.

Dear All, My granddaughter finally made her way to India and tonight is her first night sleeping with her new roommate. It has been quite an emotional ride for my daughter-in-law. My son and she, along with my grandson, also went to India to get Pooja settled in.

My daughter and another granddaughter are stopping by shortly for some dinner out---ladies night out.

It is slow going with the walking, but the hip seems to be releasing some. Getting out or getting to the pool seems to always be a challenge. "Keep Moving" is the name of the cancer and well-being game. It is so ironic as I was very much an athlete. I am now 2 1/2 years since diagnosis.

Love to each of you.

Well it was another hot and humid day here. I was glad to be at work just to be out of the weather. I am finally caught up.

I helped DH with chores because of the heat. I did chickens and ewes. Eric filled a bucket and a chicken water and I changed out the ewes and the chickens water. I also collected eggs. There is an electric fence in the way and I can't step over it. I have zapped my self a few times. I walked around to the main barn and fed the lambs and rams while DH finished up water and rerouted fencing so the lambs were moved to a new pasture.

Take care everyone, I am going to sew bindings on quilts while I relax.

CheriAnn, I remember years ago when my fridge quit on me; I didn't have an extra freezer at that time, but fortunately the appliance store brought me a "loaner" fridge free of charge until the one I ordered came in. Still had to wait a day for it though so I had to keep my food in a large cooler I borrowed from my mom and dad. I was lucky that it was actually the day before I planned to do my grocery shopping, so I didn't have too much food that I had to keep cold. I did have to throw out what was in the freezer, but the refrigerated food was ok. I'm sorry you have to wait so long for your new one.

Had my lab work done today, some extra stuff for my oncologist besides just the weekly CBC. Still waiting for my report to show up online. My counts were improved last week, so I am expecting they should be even better this week.

Julie - I can sympathize about your hip and leg. My back went out a week ago
and I have been barely hobbling to the bathroom and back. I am glad
you are doing better.
Carole - It is unbelievable how low some people will sink. I am sorry to hear
you aren't feeling well. Don't worry about your mood, this the place
to vent.
Ida - That's DH's plan as well. He has planted all sorts of stuff. Our big
problem is that whenever anything desirable ripens it gets eaten by
birds, squirrels, rabbits, etc.
Kay - My fingers are crossed as well! It's great how well you are doing.

It has been a quiet day. The weather has been flaky. The sun would be shining
for a couple of hours then a thunderstorm would move in dump rain. After a short
rain the sun would shine and the cycle would begin again. I hope everyone has a great
week.

I have gotten away from my walking. I have had a sore left hip and leg so I quit walking for the past few months. My hip and leg are feeling much better so I am going to start walking again. I did a 30 min walk at 8:00 am, it was already 78.

I spent most of the morning sewing and doing laundry. Then spent some time spinning and watching movies again.

FLRED, We don't have issues with our electric fences if the power is out because they are solar powered. We have welded wire perimeter fences with electric being used to split the pasture into 8 sections so we can rotate the sheep to different pastures.

Carole, Hang in there things will get better over time.

CheriAnn having a fridge go out is not fun. Hope you enjoy your new fridge.

Kay, hopefully you will be able to do your bike trip some time.

Ida the salad sounds good. We had a pasta and veggie salad today.

Take care everyone.

Beet greens, fresh, 0.5 cup

Radish, Fresh, 1 oz.

Radish Leaves / Tops (1 oz. / 28g), 28 gram(s)

CHERI, I bet the 3rd can't get here fast enough! Losing a refrigerator is such a pain. I'm sorry you lost your freezer food before you realized what was happening. I hope you were able to pick out a new fridge that you like. I've had ones that I like and ones that I hated over the years. It makes such a big difference.

Julie, I was doing a self-supported bicycle tour in your area Wisconsin almost exactly two years ago in the midst of a heatwave. Hubby and just retired and we were planning on doing a year long, self-supported bicycle tour around the perimeter of the USA and Australia. We were doing a training ride from Whitewater to Steven's point over a three day period on a fully-loaded tandem, pulling a trailer. The heat index was well into the 100's and we were melting! You were smart to stay inside yesterday as much as possible. I remember the date because a small lump in my breast seemed to explode over that trip. I went urgent care the day I got home and got scheduled for a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound immediately. That's when I found out I had breast cancer....

We haven't done any bicycle touring since then. Cancer has a way of changing plans....

So...I'm right at the two year mark since my diagnosis. I'm doing great. NED. I'm a lot stronger than I was after I finished treatment, but I have a way to go before attempting self-supported bicycle touring again. Maybe, by next spring, I'll be up to it. Fingers crossed!

Ida - Glad you had a good day.
Cheri Ann - I am so sorry. Having a refrigerator die is not fun.
Julie - Do you have problems with power outages with electric fences?
Shari - Glad things went well today.
Sue - Your DD is doing great!

I had a pretty good, somewhat lazy day. We actually had a few hours of sun
this afternoon. The local paper reported that we had had over twice as much
rain than is normal for the month of July. I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow!

WE had a good day today. DH & I got another project done as far as we can go on it,=. We are getting 60 seedlings trees at the end of Oct the first part of Nov. They will be going in where we cleared and tilled for then. We even put a boarder in so when the trees come out I will have another garden area. All in all we both hurt a little tonight but it is a good hurt.

Church tomorrow and a rest day.
Prayers are out there for all of you.

Oh my, what a day! Starting cleaning and was pleased that I was almost done....and then......

Our fridge stopped working! Evidently the condenser working and all of the food in the freezer was spoiled! What a mess. It is cleaned up and a new fridge is being delivered on the 3rd of next month. So we will be living out of the freezer in the basement and an apartment sized fridge in the basement! I am so tired!!!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I have had a nice day. We went out for breakfast then went Farm and Fleet for some electric fence parts. We are changing some our fencing dividing our pasture to electric because the lambs have gotten tangled up in the fence we have been using.

It was already 80 at 8:30 am today so we couldn't do to much outside because of the heat and humidity. I spent the afternoon spinning and watching movies. I went out and helped with chores. It was really warm. I am now back to spinning. I hope to finish up my pink and blue sparkly yarn tonight.

Take care.

Work went pretty well and I was home at 3 pm. I did go in early so I still got my 8 hours in. I didn't do much after work though, but I got permission from my doctor to start the Ideal Protocol life style change. My DD has lost 10 lbs already in just 2 weeks and has lots of energy and really feels good about this diet. I can't wait to get started!

I had a pretty good day. I think I am finally caught up. It helped that only 2 out of 7 chemists were at work today, so not much data came in.

Not to much planned for the the weekend.

Take care everyone and have a good weekend.

Great to hear Mom2cat. ALthough i am not a caner survivor, I am a cancer care taker. I also have two cats that I adore and spoil.

Just keep focused and your dreams will turn into realities. With God as your Master Trainer, all things are possible!

Didn't sleep well, and ended up taking a long nap today, so it wasn't a very productive day, but I still managed to get a workout in, and I actually felt more awake after that.

My name is Shari; I have been a Sparker since July 2006, I am now in palliative care for metastatic breast cancer, but I'm not letting cancer stop me from Sparking!
