Cassie and Cheri-Ann, I'm amazed you are both able to get so much done so recently after finishing chemo.

Shari, I'm sorry you had a hard night and have a headache coming on. I was hoping the new pain med would be more helpful with sleep.

Julie, those PMS squares sound fun.

I'm happy because I had some gluten free crepes that hubby made this morning that tasted great. It''s the first time I've had crepes since the GI doc told me I had Celiac sprue. I didn't think I'd ever have a good crepe again. He made them with a Red Mills gluten free flour. He originally was trying to make waffles from the flour but the mixture turned out too thin, so he got out the crepe pan and made crepes with the mix....it was terrific!

Shari, I hope you are feeling better. The PMS blocks are a fun part of our meetings.

I had a pretty good day. I think Randy took it easy on us this morning. I usually burn about 500 cal in the workouts, but I only burned 400 today. He did do a fair amount of upper body work and not a lot of leg work which will burn less calories.

Work was a struggle I just couldn't concentrate on what I was doing but I survived the day and a weekend of cleaning ahead of me.

Take care.

Julie

Julie, that PMS idea sounds like fun!

Cheri, I hope you are feeling much better when it's time for the party tomorrow.

I'm having kind of a rough day; didn't sleep well last night, and I've had a sinus headache that has been coming and going all day. Also trying to get use to a new pain med. I'm hoping my fatigue and light headedness is from the lack of sleep and the headache, and not so much from the new meds.

Cassie~So glad you are feeling well. I am still feeling a bit weak, but I may have overdone it yesterday in my shopping trips to get ready for the Christmas Party tomorrow. I have everything bought though and today I can take it slow.

Was able to walk for 15 min, but that is all I could do today. DH went in to work today, I hope he is doing well. He is still not feeling 100%, but felt he needed to go in. I just have to get things a bit organized for tomorrow. I will make my cheesecakes early - I will make deviled eggs as well, but I will cook them tonight and assemble tomorrow morning -I am hoping I will feel much stronger tomorrow. We will see! Then I just have to enjoy pretty much. I still have no idea when I will be seeing my DD, but we have a week to figure that out. She has another Christmas party scheduled tomorrow so she won't be at the one I will be at. She is one busy lady! Of course, they are presenting my parents with a group Christmas present Sunday morning, but I can't be there since that is the exact time of our Sunday School Christmas Party! So she comes by it honestly!

Shari~So glad you are able to arrange rides!

Praying we all stay well and have a blessed holiday!

Shari, I wish I lived closer so I could help you with a ride. :)

I had a decent day yesterday and feel pretty good today, too. I got some stocking stuffers purchased plus a new blanket for our guest bed. I also got some laundry done. Feels good to feel kind of normal.

I had a nice day at work. Today was our Christmas Potluck. I took in lamb for sandwiches.

I have a Christmas party for quilt guild tonight. I wish I could stay home but I have the PMS block for January. PMS stands for- please make some. Each month a member gives us a pattern for a block to make, then the next month your name goes into a drawing, once for each block you made, so someone will win them, but if you win you can't win again until you finish a project using the blocks. I won the blocks in November. I have two tops done but still need to get them quilted.

Have a good evening!

One of my good friends that usually takes me to my doctor appointments is sick with pneumonia, so she is staying away from me until she is better because she doesn't want me getting sick. I have rides arranged though for my lab work and doctor appointment on Monday, and if my doctor decides to keep me on chemo, I have a person who will take me if I need a ride on the 26th.

I got my grocery shopping done early this morning; it's nice to shop when the store isn't crowded, plus it cuts down on my chances of catching something from somebody too.

I'm still feeling OK, and I got a lot of sleep last night. No nausea yet, and no big bone pain. Keeping my fingers crossed!

There seems to be a lot of flu going around this area these days. I'm staying away from anyone who thinks they might be sick or getting sick! We all got our flu shots this year, though I've heard they might not have been as good at guessing which strains to target.

Today DD is sleeping in and it's good to be able to just be at home and not have to set alarms or get up and go too much. Ahhh....

Shari, I agree that those shots in the eye are no fun. I wouldn't want them either. My mom only had to get one eye done yesterday. She was very happy about that.

Julie, I wonder if your doc had the flu....It's amazing how it is really spreading across the country right now.

Wishing everyone a good day today.

Sue, the changes on the start page threw me off a bit too, and those changes always catch me by surprise. I'm getting use to it though.

Cassie, I hope you don't end up with bone pain from the Neulasta.

Kay, I can imagine those shots would not be pleasant. I don't even like going to the eye doctor for checkups, I've always been very squeamish when it comes to have anything done to my eyes.

Having a flare up of my arthritis pain today; our weather went from the 40's yesterday, to the 20's today, and it's also very windy. I should be a lot better tomorrow. It will still be cold, but sunny and not as windy, and my body should be adjusted better to the colder temps by then.

Sue~ I will be taking masks and my multiple hand sanitizers, but I do love holding the babies and it's been a year since I really have been able to do so with my operations and then the chemo (and the fact that we only get to see my DH's family a couple times a year).

Now we are down to one vehicle, DH thinks the engine is shot, and he is home sick. At least I will have transportation today to get a couple quick things done.

Cassie~I hope the shot does not cause you problems for Christmas! WooHoo that we are done and can concentrate on feeling better!

I got almost all of my cards done as well. I only have a couple more to go, as I have misplaced my address book in all of the chaos. I have a list I keep on the computer, but it is missing a few names I find....will do a quick straighten in the office today to see if I can find it.

Shari~ love your sense of humor and your attitude!

Julie~ that dessert sounds delicious!

Cassie, I hope the Neulasta shot doesn't lead to bone pain this time. It's strange. I didn't have any with it until the last injection....sounds like you are just the opposite!

Sue, I have about 2/3's of my cards done. I have about 30-35 altogether and I think I have only 10 or so to go. I don't like doing it when it feels like "work" so I only do a few at a time.

Shari, it's great to see your sense of humor about the streaking! I love it. I'm also glad to hear you are feeling a little more settled now about the all news from your MO this week. You are amazing at your ability to adjust and accept what is.

I'm going with my mom to the eye doctor today. She gets monthly injections for wet macular degeneration. The shots have allowed her to keep her vision, but she really hates getting them. It makes for a draining afternoon for both of us. I'll be glad to have this appointment over with. I almost think it was easier for me to go to chemo than it is to go with her to the doc. The good news is each shot takes less than a minute to do. Once it's over, it's over for another month.

I'm doing OK so far. The first couple of days after chemo are usually decent. I had my Neulasta shot yesterday, and the first four times it led to a lot of bone pain, but last time it didn't, so who knows? Today's my DD's last day of school for the semester and we're both ready for a break! It'll be good to have her home and have a slower pace for a few weeks.

Shari-Lol, yes it is a little too cold to be streaking this time of year! How do you like all the changes on our start page? I hate it when they change things up! This is about the 3rd time this year they have changed all the layouts of our pages. I know I'll get used to it,but I don't see why they change it up all the time? (in my earlier post, I put stage V, I meant stage IV of course)

Julie, I like your dessert! It looks and sounds delicious:)

Cheri, I sure hope you don't get sick being around all those children! That's really taking a chance on getting sick! I hope you have a mask or something. Maybe you should take some Airborn, or Vitamin C or something a day or two before hand?

Kay, did you get all the cards done and in the mail?
Cassie, how are you feeling?
Ida, hope you're still walking and doing good!

I ordered all my Christmas presents online this year, and I have gotten everything now except for my DD's and one of my GD's gifts. Her main gift did come yesterday though:)

Cassie, I am so glad you have your chemo behind you. i hope your PET scan goes well.

Shari, I will keep you in my prayers and I wish I could give a real hug, but this will have to do emoticon

Everyone else, I hope you are doing well.

I had a pretty good day. I am going to do some cleaning and help my DH put Kransekage together. It is a Danish ring cake, made from almond paste, bread crumbs and powdered sugar. I will take a picture and post it once we get them together.

Have a great evening.

Cassie, I'm so glad you have the chemo behind you now, prayers for a great PET scan!

Thank you all for the prayers.
Kay, my cancer is ER+, but I don't remember what my HER2 status is; it was back in 2003 when I was originally diagnosed with stage II.

I knew that I had some very small spots in my lungs a year ago, but at that time, they were too tiny to know for sure if it was cancer or not. My doctor does participate in clinical trials, and I think maybe he does them locally too.

I'm doing ok today; now that the initial shock has worn off, I've been able to keep busy and not dwell on things. Other than dealing with the chronic pain issues, and being tired from the low blood counts, I really don't feel like I am "sick" or anything like that.

Just had to edit to add: I just got an email that I got Spark Streaker award; isn't a little cold to be doing that though this time of year? LOL

Shari~ Keeping you in my prayers. I am so sorry that the news was not better.

Kay~Cassie's daughter is the one who dances, mine is a thespian. She is in her 40's -I hope to be able to see her play, but am not sure I will make it to Chicago to Second City to see it. It runs until the first part of Jan. This year has just been a mess, hard to get out to do anything.

Have a Christmas party for the inlaws family on Saturday. DH has to work on Christmas so they have it early. I still have some things to get done and they just asked me to bring ham and buns last night. I do still have to do some light grocery shopping and DH will help even though he is not feeling well himself. I hope I can get thru the party with all of the little ones without getting ill myself. There are several schools around here having issues with so many kids coming down with the flu and my immunity will be at it's lowest. I will have to really be careful.

I don't even know when I will be able to see my DD for Christmas! She has many relatives she is trying to schedule and then with the play on the weekend it is getting difficult for her.
We are still trying to schedule a dinner for my birthday which was in Sept!!

I really pared down the decorations this year, but did get a lot of them up. I may try to do a bit to the front of the house in the flower boxes today. It is raining but that will turn to snow tonight and then they will be frozen. I have some greenery I usually put in them/some real trimmed from our trees and a few fake holly as well. We will see how that goes. I have some cards done...I may try and finish those tonight. I want to try and get them all out by tomorrow. I do a newsletter with pictures and I am not 100% happy with it yet. We will see if I can get that done.

I am still hurting a bit, but it is getting less...hoping to be feeling more normal tomorrow so I can get everything done!

Sue~Way to go on the walking and strength training. I can't wait to be able to do more of that~ very soon! I hope to walk some today. We will see how much I can get done! I hope you get good results from the lung function test Thurs!

Cassie~So glad you are finished as well with the chemo~ Hope the results of your testing go well!!

In January I will be seeing the Oncologist again and we will see where we go from here as far as testing. Since mine was found so early she was not sure how she wants to monitor me. We will see what the next steps are!

Thinking of you all and keeping you in my prayers....

That's fantastic news, Cassie! I thought your last chemo was this Thursday so glad to hear it is done and over!
It does feel good to get cards, so I really should get some stamps today and start sending them out. Kay you reminded how nice it is to get them:)
I see the pulmo doctor again on Thursday. They are going to do a lung function test. I thought that was what they did a couple of weeks ago, but maybe it was like a mini test to give them an idea about my lung function. I have been doing some indoor walking and strength training so I should do a little better this time:)
Shari,I had stage 3 lung cancer and the radiation shrunk the tumors, but of course, that is totally different then yours because you already have stage V cancer elsewhere, but I would think they could still use radiation and try to shrink them?

Shari, I'm so hoping that your MO comes up with something positive by next Monday. Did he give any indication as to who, or where, he was going to be checking for other options? I know clinical trials might be hard due to transportation issues unless you can get your treatment with your regular MO. I also know you are active on a stage IV BC Facebook site that probably has a lot of info. Breastcancer.org also has very active stage IV threads that might have some info on new options for stage IV BC. I'm just wondering if there is any info there for your particular kind of bc. I can't remember which kind you have. Are you ER/PR+ or HER2+? Did you have any inkling that it had also gone to your lungs? That must have been very hard news to hear. I think of you often. Just really wish you had gotten better news. ((hugs))

Sue, there were many years that I didn't send out cards either. I decided to do 10 of the 30 or so Christmas cards I'm sending yesterday. Today, I wlll probably do 10 more. I don't like to do too many at a time because then it stops being fun and starts feeling like work. I did the ones for most of my family yesterday. I really appreciated all the cards I got while I was going through treatment last year including the Christmas cards, so I'm a lot more interested in sending out cards than I used to be.

I had my oncologist appointment this afternoon, a followup on the CT scan I had on Friday. It was not good news; the cancer has spread a little bit more in the liver, and now it's in the lungs too. The biggest problem is that my bone marrow is getting "worn out" from from all the chemo I've had the past, that is why I've had such a problem with the platelet counts these past weeks. My doctor told me we may be running out of options as far as treatment goes.

He wants to do some more research though, so I am going to see him again next Monday and I'll find out then how we will proceed from here. If he does continue with the chemo, I will be having that the Friday after Christmas.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Kay, I just need to finish putting stamps on and my card will be out, but I still need to clean and finish decorating since I have company coming next week.

Take care everyone.

Shari, thinking of you this morning. I'm hoping things go in your favor today.

I plan on doing my Christmas cards today. I have them...I just haven't touched them yet. I wanted to do it while I am in the mood. We put up a Christmas tree on Saturday and finished putting up decorations, so I'm ready now!

My Christmas concerts went well last night. Considering we only had three rehearsals, and had only read through some of the pieces once. We had a nice turn out for both concerts, but the second concert was close to a full house.

I have been puttering around the house doing some cleaning, them decorating for Christmas. I got the tree up and decorated and then got the bay window done. I just put up a few lights along the porch while it is still fairly warm outside.

I also got my Christmas cards ready I just need a few more stamps.

I am going to sit back and relax most of the rest of the evening!

Kay, our hospital now makes scan and lab reports available online, but sometimes they are slow to get them posted; my scan report hasn't been posted yet, but I hope it will be in the morning, before my afternoon appointment. I'd rather know before I see my doctor so even if it's not good news, I can "prepare" myself a little. I might end up just having to wait to hear from him though.

It must be laundry weekend! I have done three loads today. I was down to no clean long pants to wear...so things were getting desparate!

Shari, I'm guessing you will get your scan results tomorrow. I am so hoping they are good.

Julie, how did the concerts go? I love Christmas music.

CheriAnn, how was your daughter's dance? I hope you felt well enough to enjoy it.

We put our Christmas decorations up over the last few days....a little bit at a time. We didn't put up our "big" tree. Instead we put up a smaller one that we had gotten on sale after Christmas last year. I had totally forgotten that we had gotten it (Chemo brain), but hubby remembered and got it down from the attic. It's 5 feet tall and skinny so it takes up very little space. I am very happy with it. I'm not big on clutter so I like to just have a few decorations up.

Julie, I did some laundry and reading today too.

Started out the day feeling pretty good, but around 2pm started getting tired. Have a little bit of a sinus headache from the change in weather, but I'm still glad it warmed up enough to melt the ice outside around my house.

Feeling much better today. Got my Pierogi's made and froze 3 dozen. Made 1 dozen for our pastor and his wife. This is the only time of the year I make them. Use to make 12 to 15 dozen. Getting too old to stand and make them.

I had a pretty good day, starting with my work out this am. I am getting to know the women in the group and they are fun.

My co-workers tried to get some data reviewed yesterday but were not real successful, but each little bit helps. I still have a pile on my desk.

Planning on a quiet night at home tonight. I am tired tonight, for some reason I don't sleep on Thursday nights. I don't know if I am worried about sleeping thru my alarm when it goes off at 4 am or what, but I wake up every hour.

Take care!

CheriAnn, congrats on finishing chemo! I hope each day finds you feeling better than the day before.

My morning was a little rough; it wasn't easy chugging down the barium shakes, but I did it. I did get sick though after they injected the dye during the scan though. I went back to bed for a couple of hours after I got home and started feeling better this afternoon. I haven't been able to get my results yet; it's usually at least 24-48 hours before they are available online.

emoticon Cheri, can't wait to say that to you too, Cassie! Enjoy the nutcracker!

Kay, I just saw your picture on your blog and your hair looks good! It really makes you appreciate your hair again after losing it, doesn't it?

Shari, once every 28 days sounds good! A lot better than having to fool with that every week!

Ida, hope you're feeling a little better by now! That is scary and I hope you were checked and everything is okay!

Julie, good job on getting the grocery shopping done. I sure need to do that too:)

I went home early today because I have a cold or flu, but I'm not really sick, I just don't feel well and I have a little nausea and hoarseness. It was really slow anyways and I couldn't see sitting there doing very little and trying to find something to do:)

We have been raining all day and the wind is blowing like crazy. They say we have had hurricane wind speeds and there has been a lot of power outages. I slept through most of it:)

Thanks for the congrats. Chemo went without a hitch today...the Ativan seemed to be working overtime today though. I was really tired and DH was trying to talk to me...I guess the conversations were very interesting ! I did notice as I walked out of there I was still feeling a little loopy. Now to build strength and fight getting sick until my immunity builds.
I truly want to be well and feeling good by the Christmas party on the 20th for DH;s family.

We are down to one vehicle until DH can work on his. We many need to replace it. So I am to get a ride to breakfast tomorrow morning with some friends and then home for the day to rest. and get some exercise in. Labeling presents and getting them ready to go may be on the list as well.

hope you all have blessed days!

Cassie, enjoy the nutcracker and I am sure you will be glad to have your chemo behind you.

Sheri, congrats on the fitness minutes, and I hope your CT scan results are good.

Sue, I hope you a feeling better.

Ida, hope you are feeling better.

DH and I had the day off. We had an appointment with our lawyer to go over our Family Trust. We meet every other year. When we got done we went out to lunch then headed home. This weekend will be really busy so we decided to get our groceries for next week this afternoon.

It will be back to work tomorrow, but its only one day and then the weekend is here. emoticon

Take care everyone!

CHERI*ANN7, congratulations on your last chemo! That's a huge milestone.

Sue and Ida, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope each of you gets better soon.

Shari, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good scan for you tomorrow. I'm glad you can look up the results yourself so you won't have to wait long. I'm just hoping they will be good results.

We haven't been able to figure out if we actually have a water leak somewhere in our house. We talked to the water company and determined that when we don't use any water, the meter doesn't run....so they think we might have a leaky toilet or something. It just happened that they changed our meter last month so if it was a problem with the meter, it should be corrected. We are keeping an eye on the meter....hopefully, whatever the problem was....it's been resolved now.

Yesterday, I got my first haircut since chemo. The curls were driving me nuts. I wrote a blog about it if you want to see the pictures. My hair still has a little curl on the ends, but it looks a lot more normal now. I'm pretty happy with it.

I thought I had a dentist appointment today, but when I got there, found out it was yesterday; I don't know how I messed it up, but I had the wrong day written on my calendar. It wasn't for anything urgent though, just a routine cleaning and checkup, so I rescheduled it.

I had another busy day but my desk is still piled high. I have the day off tomorrow and my supervisor has two people scheduled to review data for me. Will see how things go. We have an appointment with our lawyer to go over updates in the laws and any changes needed in our trust.

Well I am going to clean another book shelf. I got one done last night. After I get these cleaned I will be able to put up my Christmas tree that will go in front of the shelves.

Have a good evening.

Sue, I hope you are not coming down with the flu. emoticon

No chemo again today; not a surprise for me though; I really did not expect the platelets go up high enough in that short of a time period. Once they do get high enough, my doctor will keep me on the same drug, but instead of having it once per week for 2 weeks in a row then a week off, I'll just have it once every 28 days instead.

I will go to our local hospital on Monday to have the blood counts checked again, and if by some miracle they are up high enough, then I will have chemo next Wednesday.

I know what you mean, Julie! I like to leave my desk clean when I leave at night but it seems the busier I am during the day, the messier it is when I leave at night:)

Shari, hope you get those platelets up soon and you can get the injection you need!

Cheri, tomorrow is a day to celebrate your last chemo! That is awesome and I'm so happy for you! I hope now that the secretary is back you can relax a little and enjoy the holidays more:)

I am not feeling well today. I have had a headache for 2 days now and my neck hurts. I feel like I'm coming down with something. Two of the drivers at work had to go home ealy last week because they had the flu, and my co-worker was sick before that so I hope I'm not getting that! I think I slept wrong on my neck, but besides that, I just don't feel well.

Sheri, it sounds like you are having a busy week.

Ida, I am so glad that your DH is doing well and pushing you to walk.

Cheri, I bet you are ready to have the chemo behind you.

I had a pretty busy day at work and got a fair amount done, but you wouldn't know it by the way my desk looks.

I was up too late last night so I am a bit tired tonight. I got home from orchestra around 10 pm then I had to watch the end of the Packers game.

I am going to see if I can get a book shelf cleaned and dusted. I need to start cleaning for Christmas sometime.

Take care.

CheriAnn, that is great that you are almost done with chemo!

I had a pain clinic appointment today; it went well, but I could not have any injections because of the low platelet count; too much of a risk of bleeding.

Have been busy trying to get everything ready for the Christmas party at the inlaws on the 20th...and pre chemo blood tests, etc. Then I needed a new referral for today so I had to get that all coordinated.

Plus I am still working to cover for the other secretary who is coming home from FL today. Today is the pre-chemo Dr. appointment and then Thurs is my last chemo!! I will be straightening the house this afternoon/tonite. DH texted me that he is working 4 hours overtime tonight so he won't be home until about 8:30pm. I work tomorrow as well until noon and then I can relax for a little bit. I have most of the Christmas shopping done as well. It feels good to have that done.

Have been able to walk or walk the dog most days....didn't get to do that today as I came into work early....but should be able to walk the dog tomorrow as well.

Welcome back Kay!

The hospital finally called to schedule my CT scan, it will be Friday morning.

It's going to be a busy week for me; I did my grocery shopping today, I have the pain clinic tomorrow, chemo (if my platelets are up enough) on Wednesday, dentist on Thursday, and now the CT scan on Friday.

Well, it looks like we have a plumbing problem too. Our problem is that we don't know what the problem is. Our water bill shot up last month so apparently we have a leak in the line. We have to get a plumber out to see if he can locate it. There are no leaking faucets or toilets anywhere so it may be between the meter and the shut-off valve we have inside the house. Oh well, it seems like there is always something going awry. I'm just so grateful that my husband is the one that deals with stuff like that.

Kay, glad you enjoyed the cruise!
Julie, it's nice that the three of you will continue, but I'm sure you'll all miss your other friend:)
Shari, it feels good to get the Christmas shopping almost done, doesn't it? I have never gotten everything (or almost) done this early:)
Ida, how is that walking going?

My plumbing problems happen way to often! This problem keeps happening every few months and I keep saying that I am going to move but all 3 of my kids live within a mile of me and it's hard to find a studio anywhere, more less in the area that I want for a price I can afford. Maybe someday....

Both of my boys came over for coffee yesterday morning and it was nice visiting with both of them. My youngest rarely comes over so it was a treat:)

I woke up and did 15 minutes of indoor walking this morning!

I had a good Sunday.

My quartet played at an assisted living center today. We then all went our lunch including our other halfs. This will be the last time the four of us will be together until April when Connie comes back from Florida. Nancy, Bridgette and I will see each for our Orchestra and will then continue to meet as a trio after the New year.

Well not to much else happening here.

Take care!

Hi All!

Sue, wow! I hope your plumbing problem is resolved for good. What a mess.

Shari, hooray for getting the shopping done on line. That's how I shop too.

We got back from our cruise today. It was great to get to go on the spur of the moment the way we did. It was a very unexpected change of pace. I feel very grateful to be able to have done it.

I did some online shopping this morning and my Christmas shopping is almost done now; I only have 3 little things yet I need to pick up and they are things I can get while I am out for groceries during the next week or so. I also have crocheted afghans I made this summer for my sister and one of my friends. It's a relief to have the shopping almost done, especially with not knowing exactly what will happen with the chemo schedule; one less thing to stress over.

I had a nice Saturday.

We went out for breakfast then stopped at the bank to get our copy of our trust from our safety deposit box. We have an appointment with our lawyer this coming week. Did a bit of Christmas shopping and then got groceries.

Hubby went deer hunting this afternoon. It is muzzle loader season now.

I did laundry and worked on my quilt. I found out where Tigger has been sleeping because the quilt has cat hair all over it.

I just finished chores DH said he could do them but it was so nice out I went and feed the sheep and collected eggs.

Have a good evening!

Shari, mI'm sorry, I know this year is going to be rough without her!
Ida, thanks, I hope it's still going to be a good evening, but my toilet overflowed and my bathtub filled up with nasty water again! The plumber is here now, but what a mess! and I have the dinner party to go to in a town about 45 minutes away. I have to mop up all the water on the floor and clean the tub really good before I can even think about getting ready. We were going to go early and check out the town, but now I will only be able to make the dinner.

My niece's daughter just had a baby too, and I wanted to see her before the party, since I don't think the baby will be at the party with the drinking and all. I'm so upset over the whole mess! It happens here all the time...it's really time to find a new apartment!

It started out such a good day too, with a good night's sleep and my son coming over for coffee this morning, then I spent all morning Christmas shopping and have everyone done except my grandson. He is a vegan now and I think I will just get him and his girl a gift card for their favorite vegan restaurant:)

Good afternoon all;
Having a pretty ordinary day today, but that is not really such a bad thing, with all I've had to deal with lately. It's been hard, but I'm starting to adjust to a "new kind of normal" after losing my mom. I think it's going to harder though as we get closer to Christmas.

Been cleaning house this morning and doing some walking. Raining out and glad it is not snow. Bought a new 7.5foot Christmas tree. Will put it up next year. Right now we have our little 4 foot up and I do not feel like changing it.

Sue have fun at the dinner party and pick the healthy stuff. Have a great weekend everyone.

Cassie, I'm happy to hear you are feeling okay. Soon all this will be behind you and you will be back to your old self again!
Shari, glad to hear your numbers up! yay!
Julie, It is a quilted bedspread and I thought of you when I bought it:)
I'm going to a dinner party tonight so I will probably overeat, but I'll try to make a healthy choice on whatever I do eat:)
Thank you all for the nice comments about my new bedspread!

Good evening everyone! I didn't get home until late last night so I didn't check in.

Cheri, I am sure you are counting down the days to your last chemo. I was able to do my crafts while had chemo but my hands would go numb. Playing my cello was interesting because I couldn't feel the strings, but everything came back for me.

Sue I am looking forward to seeing your new bedspread.

Sheri, I hope you blood counts are coming up.

Kay, I hope you are enjoying your cruise.

I had a busy day at work but it doesn't seem like I am making any progress in getting the data off my desk and on to someone elses. It seem like more is coming in then is going out!

We are off to bowling soon. Our teammates won't be there tonight so hopefully we will be home earlier then normal.

Take care everyone and have a good weekend.

Julie

My numbers didn't go up a whole lot today, but at least they went up instead of down when I went in for another CBC today. I was mostly concerned about the platelets, those are what have been keeping me from getting the chemo these past weeks; they only went from 71 to 75, but I was told that is actually a good increase over just 2 days. My oncologist wants me to come in for chemo as scheduled next Wednesday, and of course, it will depend on the platelet count whether I actually get the chemo or not. But at least now I can breath a little easier and relax over the weekend.

I have an unusually good week this week! I think because I have started exercising again in the morning and I bought a new bedspread on Black Friday and it came today and looks so nice and has brightened up my room:)

The flooding has subsided, thank goodness! Thank you for your concern:)
It is supposed to rain again tomorrow though, a really good storm I hear! I hope they fixed the pump that wasn't working yesterday and caused the flooding. Still worry about those in the mountains that had that huge fire over the summer. The rain is causing them to flood too.

I think I'll post a picture of my bedspread:)

Worked this morning, and then my girlfriend took me out for lunch. It was a nice visit. Tomorrow I work in the morning as well. I am going to work on Christmas cards tomorrow. Have to hit the store as I have a dinner for church to go to and need a salad for 15. That happens Saturday and is one of the few parties I will attend this season.

Sue~Stay safe amidst the flooding.

Cassie~ I too am getting excited about this being the last one!

Shari~So sorry to hear it's postponed again. Hoping your numbers start going up!

Julie~ Looking forward to being able to do some of those things next year!! I used to do a lot of cross stitch and sewing but with this chemo my fingers aren't working all that well....

Been able to walk the dog each day and that feels good.....still humbling that 25 minutes is about the limit of what I can do...at least I can do that!

Cheri, I hope the cold and sinus stuff gets better for you soon.

Cassie, I'm sure you are counting down the days, that is great!

Sue, I posted a pic of my new haircut in my blog today.

My chemo was cancelled today for the 3rd week in a row; platelets were too low again and in fact went down more since last week; so did my hemoglobin. The nurse called my doctor, and my doctor is concerned not so much for the numbers themselves, but because of how far down they dropped just within a week, especially since I have not had chemo for about 4 weeks now. I have to go back Friday to get my blood counts checked again. They want me to stay and wait that day until after the results come back and my doctor will decide then what to do next.

Hello everyone. I've been doing pretty well and have 12 days still to go until my LAST chemo. Can't wait! Just trying to keep busy, eat well and get some walking in where I can. Sounds like we're all doing pretty well, all in all.

That's pretty cool, Cheri! You are an inspiration to others!

I walked yesterday morning and did some strength training. I got the new battery in my tracker and it is working again!

Not much going on here either except it is raining cats and dogs! lol

Shari~ It does make it less depressing to cut the hair short. I am sure it looks cute!

Kay~ Enjoy the cruise!! Let us know how it was!

I am feeling pretty good except for a cold/sinus thing I have going on. Went to lunch with the leader of our Women's Mininstry today. She wants me to speak on my experience in January. It went well! I must admit I bragged about you ladies and the support you have given me!
Tomorrow working again until noon and then a little bit of grocery shopping I think. I may stop at my parents house since next week is chemo week again. Since they were sick I hadn't gone over there....they are missing me.

Sue, I don't have a picture of my new hair cut yet; I will bring my camera to chemo tomorrow and see if my friend can get a picture, and I'll post it in my blog.

Thanks, Julie! My Spark activity tracker battery is almost dead. I just got this new one and can't believe it is dying already! Just when I'm getting back into walking:(
I think it had a spare battery in the box but I haven't gotten it out yet to check.
Hope everyone has a good day!

2015 is the year that I want to stop recovering and start living again!

I have been laying in bed, recovering from cancer, chemo and radiation and all it's side effects for 2 years.
I feel I have 'recovered' now and it's time to move on!

Ida, Happy birthday!

Sheri, be sure to post a picture with your new haircut.

Kay, have fun on your cruise!

Cassie and Cheri, I hope you are both feeling better.

Sue, way to go with the walking!

I had a pretty good day. My desk is piled high after a long weekend, but it will get done sooner or later.

I just got home from orchestra rehearsal and will be off to bed soon. It has been a long day.

Not to much happening here.

Take care everyone.

Julie

emoticon emoticon Happy Birthday Ida! I was wondering if that is why you are changing your 69 to 70 in your name:)

emoticon ZUMBALOVER2!

Cassie and Cheri, I'm sorry Thanksgiving didn't turn out so well for either of you. I hope you are on the upswing now though and will be able to enjoy things more!

Shari, I'm glad you are feeling better! Did you post a picture of your new haircut?

Kay, have fun on your cruise!

Julie, hope your day went well:)

I just got home and walked up to the store and back. 1.11 miles! I hope I can keep this up:)

Had a great Birthday today. DH took me out to breakfast and we ate healthy. Had a healthy dinner and a piece of pumpkin pie for my birthday cake. Watched the snow come down and mainly rested all day. Did do walking and stationary bike.

Kay, I just read your blog, I say go for it! Enjoy the warmth and the sunshine!

My hair has been shedding for a little while now from the chemo; I finally made the decision over the weekend that it was time to get it cut short, so today I did. Now that it's done, I'm glad I did it, and I like my new haircut. It makes me feel much better about the way I look.

Hi All,
I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know I'm going on a cruise tomorrow. We just decided today to do this! I'm not sure if they will have internet on the ship. We are going to do a 5 night cruise and if we really like it, we might stay and do another one right after that. I feel like I need to make the most of my time now that I'm pretty well recovered from breast cancer treatment.....just in case.......

I hope things go smoothly for everyone over the next couple weeks, particularly for everyone getting chemo.

Hugs,
Kay

Good evening!

One advantage of having my chemo put off is that I had more energy today; I took advantage of the warmer than normal temps this morning (it was 49F when I got up this morning) and after breakfast, finally got my outdoor furniture and wind chimes put away for the winter. I was a little sore after that and tired, but so glad that it's done now and I don't have to worry about it now.

CheriAnn, I seem to take a little longer to get back to feeling decent with each round, too. Luckily we are coming up on the LAST one!

I bought ingredients to do some baking, so that's my plan for today - Christmas cookies, to go in the freezer.

Julie~ You ARE one busy lady. People used to tell me I was busy...boy has that changed. Maybe a medium will be reached after this is over.

Ida~Way to go on the exercise.

Cassie~My Thanksgiving afternoon was not fun as well. Had to take pain pills all of that day and in to the next. Glad to be past that! I seem to have more bad days with each infusion. I sure hope that all is gone by my husbands families Christmas party on the 20th~

Shari ~ Sorry to hear things are postponed. I so love looking at old pictures...one of my favorite things! My brother and Mother even set up a facebook page to share old family pictures. So fun looking at old pics of our big family~

Today I am feeling much better and have an appetite back. Going to do some light cleaning today...I have a lot of company coming to the house next week -on different days. I also work tomorrow so I want to get things in order. Company at least Tues and Thurs....have a couple store runs to do as well.....things are going to get busy from here on in I think. We are supposed to go to a small dinner for our church Sat as well. I don't yet know what I am supposed to bring. I am limiting some functions as it seems some flu is going thru church. Sure hope I can stay well thru the next 11 days!! Looking forward to getting this done!

Well I had better get my swiffering done so I can relax!!

Hello team. :) We had a good trip to my parents' house. I had some setbacks Thursday afternoon/evening that made Thanksgiving not so fun, but Friday and yesterday were much better. Looking forward to truly being on the upswing now and two pretty good weeks ahead of me.
