Had my first checkup after all my treatments were finished. Saw the Gyn/Oncologist, first time since he did a biopsy. Did a look-see and said it looks like you'd expect when you've been "cooked" with radiation. (I have Vaginal Cancer.) Made an appt for the next checkup in 3 months.

Then went to the Radiation Oncologist. He didn't do a look-see since the other Dr did. But, he does want me to come in monthly for a pelvic exam. Gave me a dialator so I can keep the area open, otherwise it might close up in the healing process.

Hope all is going well for everyone this summer.

I stayed up too late last night and now I have to hurry and get to work. I wish I wouldn't do that! I read all the posts and wish everyone the best!
Shari, Kay had a good idea about having them come to you! I hope you can do that.
I better go....

Cheri, I'm glad you have two vehicles now. You really needed it with your schedules.

FLRED, I'm glad your Dr. appointment went okay. The paint is top of the line Valspar paint from Lowes. There is almost no odor to it at all. My asthma really kicks in with most paints, but I haven't had a problem with this one at all.

Julie, I'm sorry to hear about Murphy. I know you must be so sad about him.

Shari, I am so sorry about the mixup yesterday with your ride. Do they have any idea how sick you are? I'm glad you have someone you can ask to give you a ride to your next appointment. I was also wondering if there was some way you could get a home nurse to come to your home for your weekly blood draws instead of you needing to go out for them each time. I don't know how things work where you live and what is available to you. I'm glad you haven't noticed any SE's from your new med. That's a good thing. I hope it stays that way!

I woke up to thunderstroms this morning. It looks like it will be raining here most of the day. I expect I'll be spending most of the day getting ready for the family get together we are hosting tomorrow. I still haven't settled on what food we are serving. I really want to keep it simple with minimal cooking. Our kitchen can get hot even with the AC running.

Wow, took a long time to read all I have missed and catch up! We did buy a truck, Dan got what he wanted (4 Wheel Drive, Club Cab) at the right price. We sold the Jeep to my niece hoping it just needs a new oil pump and not a new engine, but at a price so if it does need an engine overall they got a good deal. Tomorrow we will be straightening and rearranging the garage so both vehicles fit well with some room. It's pretty tight right now, need to move some ladders, etc.

I am off the rest of the week. I have been really tired all of this week. Have not gone to bed as early as I should and had busy days. Took a very long nap this afternoon that helped a bit. It feels very springlike here, rather cool today and tomorrow. I love that kind of weather though...Dan is home tomorrow as well, but goes to work at midnight the next two nights...then regular hours for the next two months emoticon

Well I had better get to bed!

Julie - I am looking forward to seeing a picture of your quilt, it sounds pretty.
I am sorry about Murphy.
Shari - Your problems with Dial-A-Ride and missing your appointment must have
been very stressful. Sorry about all your trouble.
Sue - Wow, you are really roasting. It may be a dry heat but 107 is hot!
Kay - What brand of paint is your DH using? I have so much trouble with fumes
we have to go stay at a hotel until the air is clear.

My Dr. appointment went OK. It's been busy but productive today. Only one more
day until the three day holiday weekend! emoticon

Today has been a busy and sad day.

We had a vet appointment for the sheep today. Everything went fine. It was a good work out catching and holding the lambs for the vet.

The quilt I am currently working on is an applique sheep blocks of my own design. I will post a picture when I get it done.

We then said good bye to our dog Murphy. He will be missed.

Kay, I haven't noticed any side effects yet from the Ibrance, but I just started it on Monday.

I missed an appointment at the pain clinic this morning; I had called Dial a Ride yesterday morning to schedule a pick up time for this morning, but someone screwed up, and I never got on their schedule, so I had to reschedule with the pain clinic, and now I can't get in until August 11th.

Shari, WhooHoo on the good hemoglobin count! Have you noticed any SE's from your new med? It sounds like things are going good so far.

Hubby has been painting like crazy the last few days. I think he wants to get the most basement painting done before our family get together here on Friday. I really appreciate what he is doing. One thing I have noticed is the paint he is using doesn't have much odor to it. It's a high quality paint and I can really tell a difference with my asthma. Normally paint fumes can send me into an attack, but this paint hasn't been bad at all. I'm very impressed with both the paint job that my husband is doing and the actual paint!

Ida - It sounds like you are roasting there.
Julie - What kind of quilt are you making?
Carole - Hope you are feeling better.
Shari - I am glad your blood counts were good.
Sue - Waiting on results can be terribly stressful. I hope the result is OK.
Kay - Congrats on walking 8 miles.

I had a doctor's appointment today for just minor regular stuff. I go back to
the oncologist this month. Our temps have been running in the low 90s here. The
heat doesn't bother me so much as the high humidity we have.

I had a relaxing day. I had my one on one training session today. I changed time and day since I am on vacation and we have a vet appointment in the morning.

I came home after my workout ate some breakfast and relaxed. Then decided I need to clean something so picked a cupboard and cleaned it out. I the spent most of the rest of the day quilting. Did chores and was knitting when hubby got home from work. Tomorrow will be spent working outside between the vet appointment and putting up fencing.

Take care everyone!

It's been a rainy day here, but we needed the rain.

Had my lab work done this morning. The blood counts are good, though I'm too sure about the "other stuff"; a few things are higher than normal, but not by a lot, so I'm sure it's not anything to worry about at this time; it just might be that my oncologist will still consider those things within normal range for me. But the good news is that my hemoglobin is 12.3, still within normal range!

I'll see my oncologist next Monday; by then, I will have been on the Ibrance for a week.

That's great that you walked 8 miles! I have a spark activity tracker and it really does keep you motivated! The battery went dead in mine though and I have not been using it for awhile now.

It was 100 degrees here yesterday and will be 107 for the next 2 or 3 days. When it is that hot it is hard to do anything! Its' already warm thismorning.

Carole, I hope you are feeling better today.

I am wondering about the results of my CT Scan, but I guess I won't know until I see the doctor again. I'm not sure when I will get my port fixed and I know it's almost time to get it flushed again, but they won't be able to do it until it's fixed. I really need to call and make an appointment to get it done!

Carole, I'm so sorry to hear you were so sick yesterday. I hope the doctor is able to help you out today.

I walked 8 miles yesterday! I did it in 3 different session of walking. I slept like a log last night and feel fine today. I decided to walk a lot yesterday because I have a FitBit and I had fallen way down in the rankings (with my Fitbit friends) this past week. I'm usually ranked around #3 or #4 out of 12, but yesterday morning, I was down to #10. It was because I just hadn't been walking much the past week. I've had my Fitbit since March and I have to admit...it does keep me motivated to see where I rank with my friends.

Darlene - How terrible for you. My DH is sensitive to needles and has a
terrible time.
Julie - Happy vacation although it sounds like you are still doing plenty of work.
Carole - I am so sorry you are feeling so sick. I hope the doctor can help you tomorrow.
Shari - I hope the Ibrance goes OK.
Ida - Good news about your Comprehensive Metabolic Panel.
Elizabeth - Your house sitting sounds so relaxing.
Sue - I am like you, they always have problems getting a vein. When
they finally do get the needle in the vein will frequently fail.
I don't blame you at all for not wanting the port taken out.
Kay - Your menu sounds great and how super to have your family
gathering.

I hope everybody has a good day tomorrow.

It sounds so nice to go up to the mountains and to a lake. Mountain drives are something I always used to love to do. It is so peaceful up there.

Shari, I hope the new med you are on will work well for you.

I am so sensitive to needles and when they poke and prod I usually end up screaming or at least crying during the whole thing. The only veins that are large enough to get a needle in are in my hands and that is only a pediatric needle. The largest they can use is a 23 and unless they know me they will argue with me on that. Now the veins in my hands are collapsing when they try to draw blood. I have had them tell me that they can't use smaller than a 20 g for IVs, but when I was getting ready for eye surgery the pre-surgery doctor said they could use a 24.

The calcium and other test that my PCP told me can indicate cancer was because of Oncology telling me that I had the cancer returned and there was nothing that they could do, even though the radiologist said it was not cancer. That was about 7 years ago. So far it hasn't returned.

Kay, keeping it simple sounds like the right way to go.

I started my vacation today. I spent the cleaning, I had planned to quite around 1pm and go sew for the rest of the afternoon, but I felt so grudge after cleaning that I just keep going.

Take care everyone.

Hi Kay,

We are up at our son's home on the mountain...and we thought we would entertain some friends here.

I hear you...keep it simple. I used paper plates, cups, and had some simple hummus/crackers/carrots for hors-d'oeuvres, hamburgers, chips...our guests brought a yummy fruit salad and another, a delicious berry pie for dessert. That was it. I was completely relaxed, as they were as well.

Enjoy!

Ida, I'm glad that your CMP came back normal! I get that one done once per month; I'm due for it tomorrow in addition to my CBC since I have an oncologist appointment next week, and I'm also getting my CA 15.3 checked.

Got my first month of the Ibrance this morning, via UPS. I will start it tonight, at dinner time, since it has to be taken with food, and that is also when I take the Femera.

I too have small veins. When I go in for any surgery it takes them 45 min to get a IV in me. My heart has small veins also I found that out when I went in for a heart cath. I have what they call small vessel heart disease. When I have blood work done there is only 2 nurses that can get it from me so I have to make sure they are on duty when I go in.

My Lipid Cholesterol Panel and my Comprehensive Metabolic Panel test came back and was posted on line for me to see. The DR will not be happy with me on my Lipid Cholesterol Panel. But then I have always had it high as well as my family. The Comprehensive Metabolic Panel came back great.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Hi All,

I am reading on small veins. Does this speak to me. I, too, have very small ones or ones that move and are hard to find. I chose not to have a port. I even had a colonoscopy on Thursday, and it took 3 nurses to find my veins, which is usually par for the course. I try to drink tons of water the day before I have my Zometa infusion and blood work. I am with you all.

We are still house sitting for my son up on top of the mountain here in Vermont near our home. It is so quiet and peaceful here. They have so many strawberries ready to be picked.

Love to you all,

Elizabeth

Kay, you sound so excited! I'm so happy for you! Keeping it simple sounds like a good idea, that will give you more time with your family:)

My veins are small also, that's why I don't want the port taken out. They can never get a vein.

I slept until 6 this morning and I only have a few minutes to get ready now. Have a great day!

Happy Monday! I just heard from my niece that she wants to come visit this Friday. I'll be having my mom and two of my brothers over too and possibly one or two other nieces and their families. I'm the unofficial hostess of the family gatherings the past 9 years since we bought our retirement home in Tennessee. I enjoy the gatherings. This one, I'm thinking of keeping this gathering super, super simple: Sandwiches, chips, fresh fruit bowl, cole slaw and gluten-free brownies.

I get the CA125 every year now since I have been in remission. I had both Ovarian and Uterine cancers. Also have MRIs. My PCP also checks Calcium levels and one other level that will increase when cancer is present. I just can't remember the 2nd one. Keep thinking Albumin, but then I don't think that is right.

Sue, I hope that they can get your port straightened out. Mine started getting clots even though it was flushed all the time so they had to take it out. I didn't need it so much anymore except for tests. I have small veins so it is very hard for anyone to do an IV or even draw blood. That is one reason I have the MRI instead of CT scans. They can't do the contrast for a CT scan.

Hope everyone is feeling better and has a good week.

The lid test for the sheep isn't difficult but it will take two of use for the adult sheep, one to hold and one to check the eyelid color.

I had a nice relaxing day. I was going to help put new fence up but it was rainy most of the day so I got to do laundry and quilt instead. I started quilt my second sheep quilt. I finished the quilting on the first one yesterday.

I am going to work on cleaning the bedroom on our main floor tomorrow. I want to rearrange and move my piano into the room. Plus get the closet cleaned out.

Have a good evening!

JUlie

Thank you for the information and especially for the link! That was very helpful! So from what I read they do not have "cancer markers" but tumor markers, and more specifically, in my case, since the tumors have shrunk, they would not be using tumor markers. I really appreciate the information! On the Whatnext.com website, they are always asking about EGFR mutations too, and that explained what that was also. I have never been tested for the mutation.

When I was first diagnosed, my doctor advised me NOT to look on the internet concerning my cancer, and I didn't until about a year later when I was in remission. I was so glad I didn't too, because they said the prognosis was about 15 months to live on average:) It also said recurrence was 85% chance within 5 years, and something like 95% to 99% chance of recurrence if you did not quit smoking, which I haven't. It really scared me and I stopped looking on the internet, but since I have not been able to quit smoking, and I have tried everything, the most recent being hypnosis, I am always convincing myself that I have cancer again. I wish I had never read that!

My poor little GD was supposed to be baptized today, or so she thought, but it really is next week. I think she was really disappointed but she was trying not to act like she was. Next week she will be baptized for sure this time, but we were planning on going camping for the holiday weekend. I guess we will just come back on Saturday night instead of Sunday morning though. It will all work out:)

Thank you everyone. I am feeling a little better today. I am spending today just
relaxing with DH. I hope everyone has had a nice day.

Carole - Hope you are having a good day.
Julie - How interesting about your sheep. Is it difficult to get them to let
you check their eyelids?
Shari - So glad you are feeling better. Thanks for the informative link. I get the CA-125
test monthly and DH gets the PSA quarterly.
Sue - I am so sorry you are having so many problems with your port.
Kay - I hope the weather did not cause problems with your bread making. Humidity
is always an issue with me.

From what I have read on different support groups, some oncologists use tumor markers, and some don't. My doctor uses them; I have the 15.3 done which is for breast cancer. He does not change my treatment every time that number goes up though, rather, he watches for a pattern. Sometimes, that number will go up temporarily when I start a new treatment; other times, it has gone up if I'd had a cold or were on antibioitics at the time I had the test done. Mine are done monthly. If he notices that the numbers keep going up after a few months, that is usually when he will order further tests, such as bone or CT scans. He doesn't really rely on the tumor markers alone, but rather as a "tool" in addition to my other lab work and scans.

This article here explains how they are used: www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/diagnosi

staging/diagnosis/tumor-markers-factR>-sheet

That's really interesting and great information to know for the sheep!

I was wondering about cancer markers. My brother asked me, "don't they have cancer markers" to know if the cancer is returning or not. I didn't know the answer to that. My doctor has never said anything about cancer markers. When I was diagnosed, I was already at Stage III, and I had had blood tests quite often, and they never knew I had it until I had a chest xray after a year of complaining to my doctor about how tired I was all the time, and how I was sick with a cold or flu every single month. So I don't know if it's a special test they do, or just a blood test or what that they use as 'cancer markers" Does anyone here know? I would appreciate any information anyone has!

Kay, farm fresh are great we have a small flock so have them available most of the time.

FLRED, I hope your migraine is better.

We had a nice day. We went to a sheep seminar on pasture and parasite management. After the speakers we went out to local farm learned how to use a technique using the color of sheep's lower eyelid to determine if you should treat the animal for parasites.

I am going to go spin for a while.

Have a great weekend!

FLRED12, I get migraines and sinus headaches from weather changes too, they vary in severity depending on the weather. Hope you are feeling better soon!

Sue, the first port I had, back in 2003, was in the inside of my arm just under the elbow. I had mine removed after it was causing irritation in my shoulder, I was told the line had moved and it was rubbing on a nerve. At that time, it was before the cancer returned, so I didn't think I would need a port anymore. When I did have to have one again, I asked for a chest port; I've had mine since April 2007, and so far, no problems with it.

Carole, I'm glad you were able to get some meds to get you on the road to feeling better.

I'm feeling better now that I am finally done with the oral antibiotics. My arm is looking normal again too; you can't tell by looking at it that it ever had an infection in it.

thank you everyone! my port is sore today too. I think it's from them messing with it the other day, now it is tender and I can really feel how twisted it is. I do get it flushed every 4-6 weeks and they have been having more and more trouble trying to get it to flush. I just wonder how it got twisted in the first place?

Kay, good job on the gluten free bread! Fresh eggs are always nice too! My sister has chickens and she gives us eggs in the summer. She also has a goose, and rabbit and the rabbit had babies, but I just read on FB that the bunnies died from the heat. It was 104 yesterday and going to stay that way for awhile. Poor little things.

Flred, I'm sorry you have another migraine! My mother had them so severe all the time when we were teenagers, then one day, she realized she hadn't had one for a long time...then she never had one again! I hope yours just stop one day too!

Shari, I am so happy to hear you are starting your new drug on Monday and pray it works for you with little or no side effects! I was really happy to hear your numbers were so good too:)

Julie, enjoy your vacation! Sounds like it is a Staycation...but those are sometimes the best kind:) You're lucky you have so many interests to keep you busy:)

Elizabeth, that is so nice being able to stay in the mountains for awhile! I just love the mountain air and being right in the middle of nature like that:)

Cheri, good luck finding a new truck! Car shopping can be fun and getting something new ( even if it's only new to you) is always fun. I hope you get a good deal and a good truck!

Carole, I hope your bronchitis is getting better with the meds. I know bronchial spasms are so painful! I get them all the time too or at least that's what I think happens when it feels like cramps in my lungs from the inside out. It really hurts when you cough too I bet.

Ida, glad your thyroid count is good hoping for good results on your other tests!

Well, I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Carole, I'm sorry to hear about your bronchitis. That's hard on top of chemo fatigue. Ugh.

FLRED, migranes are another big Ugh in my book!

Woke up to a gentle rain this morning. We have nothing planned today except going to the Farmer's Market for eggs from pastured chickens...I love how rich tasting and bright orange the yokes are from a good pastured egg. I might make some more gluten-free bread today too. It's a lot of work, but so much better than anything I've been able to find in the store.

Sue, I hope there are no complications when they do the surgery to fix your port.

I will be starting my Ibrance on Monday, it will be sent to me via UPS. My copay will be $5.88 per month, which is so much lower than I had expected it to be.

Kay, it is wonderful you were able to get out in your kayak. I have yet to try it this year. Even with all of my therapy, I am not certain if my leg will bend enough for me to get in and out. I continue to work on it, but it is a challenge with the rodding. Kayaking (and swimming) were "my thing" before cancer and I do want to be out in the water. It has been over 3 years now.

Yea, Shari, on the numbers!

We are up at my son's on a mountain here in Vermont house-sitting. It is very relaxing and enjoying fresh eggs each day as well as arugula from the garden. It is very peaceful.

My best to all.

Sue, I'm sorry to hear about your port issues. Ugh! I hope they were able to see things clearly enough on your CT scan without the contrast. Had you been getting the port flushed regularly? That can be a pain to get done when the port isn't in use.

Cheri, I hope you get that second vehicle soon....I know it's been rough on you just having one car in your family with your husband's work schedule and all.

I've got the windows open this morning while it is cool, but will need to close things up soon. It's supposed to be warm and humid today with thunderstorms this afternoon. Typical east Tennessee weather in the summer in the mountains. Most days the heat is fine because we have a nice breeze where we live, but the humidity can make things uncomfortable for sleeping etc. Hubby will most likely finish painting the deck railing today...one more house project done...many more to go!!

Wishing everyone a great weekend.

Thank you. The scan did not go well at all. My port is twisted and they couldn't use it and then they couldn't get a vein so I had to have it without contrast, but at least I had it!
The lady that called me made a mistake. Thank God! They didn't say one thing about it when I got there yesterday. lol
I have to schedule an appointment now for them to go in and surgically fix my port. More fun!

Shari, so happy to read about your good results!
I read all the posts and everyone sounds like they are doing well ( except for Kay's plants, lol) and I'm so tired, I'm going to nap now. Have a good evening everyone!

Shari, hooray for the good blood results!

It's hot here today, but overcast which makes things more bearable. I repotted three voluteer tomato plants and started some more parsely. It hadn't been doing well in the pot that it was in and I think it is due to the quality of the dirt. I had bought some organic potting soil from our local Amish store, but nothing that I've planted in it has done well. Yesterday, I went to Lowe's and got three bags of Miracle Grow organic potting soil....I hope this works much better. I bring my herb pots in over the winter, but last winter some of my hardy herbs died when I left them out in January while we were out of town. We had a bitter cold snap and I lost everything that I had left out. That will teach me! Usually parsely will make it through the winter outdoors just fine here.

FLRED, you are correct sheep don't take daily showers but they still fun. We have one ewe that loves maples leaves. She also likes a good back rub.

Sheri, I hope you had a good nap.

Sue, I hope you get your insurance clear up and you get some some answers.

Kay, I have always wanted to try a kayak. Have fun.

CheriAnn, I am glad your hip is feeling better and I will keep your cousin in my prayers.

I had a pretty good day but looking forward to being off next week. I hope to do some much needed cleaning. DH had a picnic at work tonight so I got to do the chores, it takes me about 30 min to feed and water everyone. Planning on spinning when I am done here.

Have a great evening!

of thing.
Julie - Raising your own sheep and spinning your own wool sounds like such a
fascinating hobby even if there are down sides to it. As my college art
instructor said "Sheep don't take daily showers." emoticon
Kay - It sounds great that you are able to go out on your kayak even
if only for a short time. I am sure it is frustrating to have to go
slow.
CheriAnn - I will be praying for your cousin Sue. Glad your hip is better.

Thanks Sue, I am feeling better. When I get a migraine cycle I become pretty
useless. I am busy playing catch up today fixing some web sites but I decided
to sign in during lunch while I had the chance. I hope everyone has a good day
(or night depending on where you are at).

Sue, I hope you get the results of your CT scan quickly and that everything is okay. ((hugs))

We got our air conditioner serviced this morning which makes me happy. We should just get it done the first thing each spring instead of waiting until it gets so hot that it can't keep up. I also went kayaking this morning for the second day in a row. It's a nice way to build up strength and maintain flexibility in my shoulders. Ever since my axillary lymph node dissection, my left arm and shoulder want to tighten up. I do a lot of stretching so I have good range of motion on that side, but kayaking is a natural way to help with it.

CheriAnn, I will keep Sue in my prayers.

Sue, I agree; call the insurance company. It sounds like though that the error was made by someone coding something wrong.

I went out this morning and got my grocery shopping done; did ok with it, but about an hour ago, the fatigue started to hit me, so I think I will be taking a nap once I get done doing my Spark stuff today.

I just stopped in and noticed the dilemma you are having with your insurance, Sue. Can you call your insurance and get it straightened out? I had problems with mine about a year ago. In my case it was a time thing with optometry and glasses, but they just couldn't figure out at insurance that they would have been covered. It took me half an hour to make the person on the other end understand that something covered every year could be covered if it was 2 years later.

Hope everything turns out okay for you.

Julie and Kay, you both have such interesting lives! I love all that you two do:) I am living vicariously through your hobbies and adventures. lol

I have an appointment this morning to get a CT Scan of my neck and chest. The radiology department called last night and said my secondary insurance doesn't cover the test. What??? I have had a few CT Scans, PET Scans, Chest X-rays, etc. there, and they have always covered it! Nothing in my insurance has changed. I tried to tell the lady to please check it again that they may have the a number wrong or something because nothing has changed and I just had an X-ray about 2 months ago. She just kept insisting that I need to agree to pay the 20% out of my own pocket for the test. So I said okay, but I want them to run my insurance again this morning when I go in because I feel it must be a mistake. I don't know what one of those tests cost, but I'm sure it's a lot! I sure hope it's a mistake, or may not be able to have the test done at all today.

I hope everyone is doing well. My day went well but I had spend it inside when it was beautiful outside. I am going to go visit the sheep then work on picking grass out of fleece for a while. I need to get the fleeces cleaned and ready to go to the woolen mill for processing.

Take care everyone.

I guess I read Elizabeth's post wrong. lol
I thought she was saying for me (Sue) to pray for her cousin, when she was actually saying, please pray for my cousin Sue. Oh well, the prayers are going up either way:)

Cheri, I hope things go well for Sue and that she is able to eat somewhat normally again in the near future. The neck is a tough place to get radiation due to the SE's in the mouth. Wishing her the very best.

I got out in my kayak yesterday for the first time since my surgery about 18 months ago. I was concerned about getting lymphedema in my arm last summer (the lymph nodes in my armpit were removed during surgery). This summer, my arm is stronger and I think can handle the stress of paddling. I only paddled for about 30 minutes slowly. It was great to be out again.

Elizabeth, most definitely I will say a prayer for your cousin! I'm glad your hip is getting better too! What fun to see all the teens there in the morning:)
Julie, that's great that you get the time off and will be getting your PTO. I hope you have a great week!
Shari, that is awesome that they have approved the new drug. Prayers that it will help you and not be too much of a copy either! Oh how I hope and pray that it works well for you!
Flred, glad your migraine is better, and hope it stays away for a long time! Migraines are just so painful and debilitating, I'm so sorry you get them!
Kay, those brownies sound so healthy and delicious! And didn't you say, your DH made them too?
How is everyone else doing? Hope all is well!

The teens are doing missions from home base this week, and it happens to be the church! It is fun seeing all these sleepy teens walking around the church when I come in to work! Definitely not as quiet as it usually is.

My hip is a bit better today....still babying it, but did walk today with no issues. Tomorrow I am getting another massage. The lady who does it for me is a relative of my uncles and her husband just left her with no income.....trying to give her some extra monies to live on... I have another massage therapist that does reflexology and is more aggressive. I like that better, but as I said am trying to get the other one some monies...will see if she will be more aggressive when she works on me....

Please pray for my cousin Sue, she will be undergoing radiation and chemo and hopefully the tumor will shrink/go away and they can rebuild her esophagus this fall. She is having a lot of trouble eating. Diagnosis is Esophageal Cancer T3N1. She will have radiation 5 days a week and chemo 1 day a week for 5 weeks.

I had a pretty good day at work. It was kind of nice because email wasn't working properly so I didn't get to many interruptions. I got my PTO for Monday and Tuesday approved so I have the entire week off next week, so now I need to get myself caught up. We don't have anything planned but I hope to clean in the am and quilt in the pm. I am going to get the quilts I am in the middle of finished then I am going to concentrate on spinning. I didn't get a chance to try the Tunis wool yet. I am in the middle of spinning some wool from Merino sheep that bought in May.

Take care everyone.

Julie

I got a letter today from BCBS (my Medicare supplement insurance) and it said they have approved the new cancer drug for me, the Ibrance, but I still have no idea what my copay will be. I'm still waiting to hear from the specialty pharmacy.

We have been under a severe thunderstorm watch since around 1:30pm, that is through 9pm. So far, we've just had rain and a little wind.

Julie - I am glad you had such a nice day at the Farmer's market. How did the
spinning from the Tunis wool go?
Elizabeth - That is interesting about cancer and Tai Chi. I cannot do regular
Tai Chi but I do own a seated Tai Chi DVD I am becoming eager to try out.
Melissa - I hope you are feeling better today.
Shari - I am glad you are doing OK on the antibiotics. I am not surprised you are
tired, antibiotics tend to make that worse.
Sue - Glad you had a good time with your GD yesterday.
Kay - That brownie recipe sounds good. I would like to have it if you wouldn't
mind sharing it.

I am feeling better today and am keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have a bounce. Hope everyone has a great day!

Julie, I had a friend that happened to be going to Madison yesterday, so I texted her about the music. What a wonderful idea.

I didn't do much yesterday. It was too hot and humid to work outside. I hemmed 4 pairs of pants for my son who is very short and went and had coffee with some friends of mine. Hubby tried a new gluten free brownie recipe for me that uses coconut flour and agave and banannas for the sweetener. It is "different", but pretty tasty. I liked that the ingredients were so healthy so I might make this my "go to" brownie recipe.

Thank you! I only have a couple of minutes to spark again today, time to get ready for work. I did take my GD to church yesterday and then went to the mall and had a good time with her. She is growing up so fast!

Hope everyone is doing well and has a good day today!

Thank you, Elizabeth, but I couldn't get the link to work. That was really thoughtful of you though and I appreciate it! Reflexology sounds great! I think I would really like that and it would help me too.

I really had a good day with my GD this morning. The church service was really good and they remembered those in Charleston as well.

We went to the Mall after church and she wanted to get her ear's pierced for her birthday, then we went and visited my soon-to-be DIL at the blood drive. She is a phlebotomist and was working but they were all really nice there. I really like this girl! I can't wait for them to get married:)

I hope everyone is having a good day.

We had a beautiful day for Play Music Madison. Our quartet played at the North side Farmers Market. We played from 10 -11. A group from a local high school played after us, so we stayed to listen for a while then walked over and some lunch.

I got home and finished up laundry while a was spinning. I bought some wool from Tunis sheep to try spinning, at the farmers market.

Well it's back to work tomorrow.

Have a great week.

Julie
