The title on my friend Carrie's page caught my attention today! I've seen it before, I am sure but today it spoke volumes to me. This morning I had a really good time with our Lord. I felt the Holy Spirit impress upon me that "there is a way". The way this came about was that I was in the car driving home after having dropped off my daughter at school and gone to the store. I was listening to a praise and worship song that kept repeating that our God is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I pulled into the garage and was listening and worshipping God when a caption on the store bag caught my eye. It had these words "there is a way". As I was reading those words, I was listening to the song and the two connected instantaneously. There is a way/Jesus is the way. Now I know this in my heart and in my spirit but in moments of stress and difficult circumstances, my mind will resound, "There is no way this will change" but that is a lie!
I took encouragement from that song and from those words on the store's bag......and now Carrie's page. She wrote "Where there is a will, there is a way". There is a Will - God's Will and a Way - God is the way. God's will and way are infinitely higher then ours. When we walk in His Will, we are in His Way.
I made a list that I titled "Sometimes there seems no way that........ " It reads like this:
Sometimes it seems no way that.........
.........DH will come to Christ.
.........DD1's BF will discover and walk with Christ.
.........Many I am praying for will be in an intimate relationship with God.
.........I will transform into the woman God has called me to be.
........There will be everlasting peace.
........I will see my Mom and sisters again and it will be good.
........I will be pleasing to God.
........I will write the book that He called me to do despite my inadequacy.
........Those imprisoned will be set free. (and not just those in physical prison cells!)
........I will have friends in this area.
........Christopher's bondage to drugs will break and he will serve God!
.......I will be a good help meet for my husband.
.......I will always honor God, my spouse, my family, friends, and even enemies.
.......I will have times and opportunities to minister.
.......I will be God's mouthpiece.
.......I will be God's hands!
.......I will keep my peace.
.......I will keep my mind stayed on God.
.......I will get to know Margaret Sue better and go to lunch with her.
.......Relationships will work out for the best.
.......Our marriage will be kept strong and be lasting.
.......A friend will get a job.
.......A friend's mom's drug addiction will break and she will live for God.
.......A friend's grandma will come out of her depression.
.......A friend's grandma will apply tough love to her daughter.
.......A friend's mom will no longer take advantage of her family.
.......A family member will show less animosity towards me.
.......My girls will read their Bible and pray.
.......My girls will worship God in spirit and in truth.
.......Our family will get where we need to go on time.
....I will be able to help those in need without feeling like I have to ask someone else's perm.
......I will lose all this excess weight, eat properly and exercise regularly.
Oh, there is more to my list but I will stop here. What I noticed is that when I dropped the words : ""It seems no way that....", I am left with several affirmative statements that I can believe by faith fully trusting in God.
Now it is your turn to fill in the blank : "Sometimes it seems no way that_________________"
Drop the "Sometimes it seems no way that..." and read your statement aloud. Trust in a God, the only God who is able to give exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond anything we could think or imagine. That is the God I serve. He is able!
Finally here is my prayer for us all:
Father, I ask that we would not look at what seems is impossible but look to the One who makes all things possible. I pray that we would be more in tune and obedient to Your voice. I pray we place our thoughts and actions in subjection to You. I pray the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts are pleasing to You, Oh Lord. I pray that we comfort the way that You comfort us; encourage the way that You encourage us; uplift in the same way that You have uplifted us; help the way that You have helped us;forgive the way that You have forgiven us; bring light the way You have enlightened us; entrust the way you have trusted us; love the way You have loved us; suffer the way you have suffered for us; edify the way you have edified us; give the way you have given us; pray the way You pray for us; rejoice the way You have rejoiced over us; sing the way You sing over us; be patient as You have had patience with us; understand as You have been understanding; show the same compassion You have shown us; produce and share the fruit You have sown in us. All of this I pray and most especially what's on Your heart in Jesus' Name, Amen!
