Wow, sounds like you had a fun time yesterday with friends. Hope she's not moving too far away Elle. Do you have an Insanity class at the gym? Is it like the same moves as the DVD?

Cindy, glad you got some kind of an off day even though you are totally stuck in the house. I've noticed when I have to be in the house is when I want to leave and go out. Hope your day was a productive one. Did you get everything accomplished?

Back home from work and now about to head out to pick my sisters car up from the shop. They fixed it pretty quickly! Now my sister needs to determine when she's going to come to pick it up.

hello! spin yesterday and Monday was great! i had some coffee before i went and it definitely helped but then i had trouble falling asleep... no surprise there i guess! i went out for drinks with a good friend that's leaving to move to another city with her husband. we ended up going out dancing so i like to think we burned off at least some of the calories in the wine. I'm getting off to a slow start today. I'm hoping I'll feel better by the time i go to insanity at the gym.

Elle, awesome on your progress in the gym. The unexpected compliments are the best!! You are definitely on a roll!! How was spin class? What are your plans for today?

Cindy, was it an updated version of the Lion King? How was it? How is Sha'vell doing? You haven't spoken about her in a while.

Monday's are definitely my looooong days and it's surely something to get use to. Yesterday when I got off, hubby was out of the house and Maya is at Band Camp for the week. So, it was date afternoon with my son. We went to TGI Friday's which is his favorite restaurant. Once we got back, I totally crashed for around 7 hours and now I'm up to exercise and actually start my day. My body is definitely on it's own schedule. Hoping tonight, I could get it back together.

WTG Elle!!

We did. I gave him the choice between two and when we got there he saw that Lion King was playing and he wanted to see it on the big screen, so we did.

When we came out I found an electrical problem with my van so we headed to the dealership. It was just a fuse, but made for a crazy afternoon.

Dee - I sorry about your parents' car - what a bummer after such a fun night! what was the party like?

i went to bodypump today and got a compliment from the instructor that i was progressing really quickly with heavier weights. emoticon so that was encouraging and then i went to spin class emoticon

in between i did a lot of errands and sent some emails emoticon

Elle, what's up in your world today?

My parents were suppose to leave at 5:30am to head back home for an appointment. Then my father couldn't find the car keys and finally left the house at around 6:15am. I thought they were gone until they called me at 7:30 to let me know the car stalled. My father gets really hard to handle when he's stressed out. Now I am off to my doctors appointment and then to pick him up from the dealership. The car wouldn't be fixed until Thursday.

I will make some more salsa tomorrow or Tuesday. Today I just made stewed tomatoes because I don't have enough onions for salsa.

Finally sitting down and relaxing. I really want to crash but am afraid that I will be worthless after if I do. We will see. All the kids are gone so I don't have anyone to worry about for a few hours.

Dee- i totally know what you mean about not having a schedule that allows you to get more sleep! it's been like that for me most of my life.

i would love to try your broccoli cheese recipe if you don't mind sharing? emoticon

enjoy your party!! too bad for Maya, though... how old is she?

I'm sure you will have a great time and it will be worth the sleep you sacrifice fur the sake of fun. the good news is our body catches up on sleep very quickly!

Today is my day off, but I have a lot going on. Maya is leaving for band camp tomorrow, so we need to finish packing. I need to make sure she has everything. I need to wash & comb her hair, exercise and then my family is coming into town. My cousin is having a vow renewed celebration this evening. I really don't feel like going because it's going to take up my sleep time, lolol. I know it's going to be fun, between the food, dancing and family we will all have a good time. My daughter is disappointed because kids are not invited. Oh well, it's adult time!! Well, off to start my day by getting in an early workout before waking up Maya.

Elle, thanks girl for the article. it's interesting how their are soo many factors to weight loss. I have really been trying to get more sleep, but it looks like I average 5 hours of straight sleep. This month alone I have gotten 8 hours of sleep only 3 times so far and this is the light part of my year. I am about to go into busy season with the kids and their activities. I pray I am not stalling my weight loss, but I probably am. Now I am about to check out your zucchini recipe, Mmmm.

i found it interesting because they are saying in the article that scientists used to believe the link between less sleep and gaining weight particularly in the belly area was because people tend to eat worse when they are tired, but actually the article found that even if people eat super healthy they can still gain weight from lack of sleep. i feel like it must be part of why i gained weight last year - i was getting very little sleep. now luckily I'm making up for it! emoticon

how are you two ladies today? i hope you have today off from work, Dee and you can enjoy the day with your family!

Cindy, funny you mention turkey burgers, I've just ordered a lot of ground turkey to make turkey burgers yup freeze. i add grated carrots and zucchini to them along with spices.

Dee, the zucchini bake was delicious! i highly recommend making it - Patrick ate 4 servings lol!

I am making refrigerator pickles. I need to shred the rest of my zucchini before it goes bad and make some zucchini bread and freeze the rest. I am going to cut up and dry the jalapenos except for one for the salsa I am going to make tomorrow. Need to harvest the peppers and tomatoes that are ready.

I am also trying to reorganize my kitchen some and I have some other veggies/fruits in the fridge I need to deal with as well.

Sleep sleep and more sleep is just as important as exercising. This week, I just didn't have enough energy to wake up at 3:30am and decided to just sleep in. Thank goodness, I was able to exercise after I got home from work. So, I got my sleep and my exercise but just not in the order I wanted it in. Off to work and looking forward to my day off tomorrow. This change in my work schedule has added stress to my body without me even realizing it. Pretty interesting how that happens. Chat with you ladies later, off to work I go! emoticon

i just got back from a swim with Patrick. off to run some errands then cyclenergy (aka spinning) and meeting another couple for dinner. We're going to this place that's known for piri piri chicken. I just looked up the nutrition facts and the chicken and peas ( i love peas) are not bad, but the fries have soooo many calories! maybe i'll just steal a couple of Patrick's to feed my craving.

Cindy - what are your plans today?

I had a really frustrating conversation with my boss yesterday - she basically tried to go back on the extra work she had agreed to pay me for, so I felt like I had to negotiate all over again. I had tea with my mentor after and she wants to get involved in the negotiations, but I said to hold off - I'm about to send another email and see if I can get some clarity. I feel pretty let down and like I can't really trust what my boss says now...

tonight i'm going to cycling and bodypump. gotta keep with the program, as you say Dee... stick to what's working emoticon

Cindy, it's totally time to go school shopping to get my kids ready for school. I can't believe the summer is over.

I am currently in day#10 without a break and I do not wonder why I can't wake up in the mornings. I have decided this week to just workout when I can. Even though I am not getting in my morning routines, my goal is to workout daily for the rest of the week. I can do this because I know my body needs it. Wishing you all a wonderful day!!

not sure my workouts were awesome, but i made it through them and did a ton of errands. today I'm going into Newcastle to work in my office. I'm starting to feel the pressure of the summer being almost over .

I'm going to meet a colleague for tea at 3 so hopefully I'll get a lot of work done before then. i also booked sports massages for me and Patrick today at 5 - after all this working out i can't wait!

We went to one we all like. We were planning on one of our faves, but was not sure what Simon would eat. All were happy in the end and school starts next week, so he will no longer have to tag along.

How was your class Elle? Hope you were able to fight through your tiredness and got in an awesome workout.

Well not how I had planned. First Simon got up and after throwing a fit, calmed down enough to eat some breakfast and then he proceeded to fall back to sleep until after noon. He is a much happier camper, but did not leave the house until after 1 and then had to take the van to the dealership for a new battery since mine crapped out.

Did get one errand done that I needed to do today. And made a few phone calls.

Thanks Elle! Plus, I drink tons of water to help flush out the salt. Mmmmm, I enjoyed every single bite and don't feel full. That's a sign that I didn't over eat and still in my range.

Dee - is anyone there with you on the audit shift? i worked at a hotel one summer and they never let me work that shift, but then i had like no experience. emoticon
i always did check out which was like 5am - 2pm i think. i always took a nap after sslince i had to wake up at 4am. the hardest part was avoiding the waffles they had out for breakfast. which hotel do you work at is it a chain?

I'm at the gym on the recumbent bike catching up I my email while i burn calories. i can't make it to spin tonight because Patrick and i are having dinner with another couple.

Cindy, i would ask you for recommendations, but I'm such a slow reader! i have two books Patrick has been wanting me to read so we can discuss.

i think I'll have steak for dinner mmmmm....

GM Elle, best of luck to you throughout your challenge. I know you will bust through soon. I wish I could keep delicious snacks out of the house. I don't feel right depriving my kids because they burn it off as quickly as they eat it.

Today is my official rest day and I am going to totally take advantage of it. Weigh in day went well and hoping for another awesome week. This is the only day I could enjoy the peace and quiet of my house since my family is actually still asleep.

i only just recently joined the plateau busting challenge - you should join too if you want! the boards are not as active as we are, but there is a good question as answer board run by coach Jen and a dietition.

Dee - i know what you mean about wanting to snack in front of the tv. the only snack food i keep in the house now is popcorn and hot chocolate - it takes some time to make those and they don't have as many calories as say crisps, but still are sort of empty calories.

this week I'm actually setting myself a personal challenge of reading after dinner instead of watching tv. seemed to have helped with the snacking yesterday. and i finished opening belle - it had a cute ending.

Thanks for the suggestion! It's all about self control. I need to just not eat anything. I can do this! I know I am not hungry, it's a staying up late thing. I need to fight the temptation of thinking I need to munch while watching TV. Fat people problems, lol.
