Debbie, I definitely know it's hard, but we have to let go when it's time and hope that they remember all that we taught them. How far away will she be moving? Is she moving in with someone? I totally do not look forward to the day my kids move out. They will always be our babies! Soooo sorry you had such a miserable experience over the weekend. Will you be able to go back when it's nicer?

Hey everyone went to Kentucky and really did not enjoy my time there. Couldn't sleep (tom) came 2 weeks early... and we went to an outdoor flea market and it was cold and rainy and very muddy! So glad to be home! DD is thinking about moving out! I knew this day would come BUT my heart is breaking! I am not ready for it! Guess I never will be! emoticon

I'm sooo tired this morning and it's because I didn't get in my evening nap before heading into work. My bed is totally calling my name. I can't wait for my head to hit the pillow. I'm going to call my husband on my drive home to make sure that I stay awake, that's how tired I am. I have about an hour left to my shift and the time can't go by any quicker. Hope you all have a wonderful Monday and start to your week.

Nancy, I've been horse back riding once that I could remember. Sounds like you had a fun time!! Hope you are able to have a restful night!

I've just finished my workout and lunch. Hubby went grocery shopping and wasn't able to find Pumpkin, which is hard to believe this time of year. It's all good, I'll get some tomorrow to be able to make some soup. Instead I had some Salmon & Brown rice for lunch with a yogurt & granola as a desert for lunch. How are you all doing?

Hi De! That's so funny we were craving the same thing! i bought a fresh culinary pumpkin, so I think that made it taste really good. It's pretty simple. roast the pumpkin with a carrot and 2 onions in the oven then add to the broth and potato. Boil for 20 min then purree. I added nutmeg and yogurt when I served it.

Elle, I was just telling my grandmother that I wanted her pumpkin soup. She'll be 90 in November and told me that she doesn't even remember the ingredients, lol. Do you have the recipe for your soup? WTG with getting in your run last night and then again this morning. Yesterday, I did a run/jog for 60 min and had an awesome burn.

I am tired tonight, which makes my shift go by slowly. I am finding ways to stay occupied and had to have a Monster to give me energy.

De - That's so great you have a treadmill. Where do you have it set up? I'm sure you will get used to the contacts in no time!

We are going on a trip to a historic village today with some friends! I can't wait. Should be fun. I'm up early to go for a run. I had a nice cozy day inside yesterday and then went for a run just as the sun was setting - so beautiful!

I made pumpkin soup and cheese omelet for dinner last night - it was my first time making soup with pumpkin and I used a fresh one. mmmm... so good :)

Elle, the cold weather always makes you want to stay in. This is one reason why I purchased my treadmill to prevent but getting in a workout. How you get everything done as you planned. I still need to get fitted for my contacts. Thanks for the tip to get use to them and I hope it doesn't take me a long time.

Nancy, sorry the meds have stopped working for you and I hope the doctor could give you something else. Try taking it easy.

Cindy, how's your day going?

I have just finished my workout and actually not being good for some reason. I feel weak line maybe I did too much. The only thing is that I didn't do anything that I haven't done in the past. Hopefully it will pass as quickly as it started.

Morning all nice bright day but they say it going to much colder come Monday.
De hope you make it too the games. I loved watching my kids compete. Becky still plays softball and I go watch just a while the 3 were all playing on the same team love that. The meds did help for about 2 weeks but have worn off already lucky me. Will be seeing the doctor on Friday some people the pain is better for months. Ugh but I should be use to this by now. I'm sch a slow healer.

Hello everyone! I planned to sleep in and then my alarm went off at 7:30. oops. Somehow now that the weather is colder I want to cozy up at home, so instead of my usual morning workout, I am organizing my recipes and doing laundry. I get really picky about formatting, so I am reformatting all of the ones I saved off the internet with a picture and my own notes. DH can print them out at his office, and then I can put them in a binder, so I don't have to open my laptop mid-recipe if I forget something or want to double check etc. Need to do laundry too! Lovely classical music playing on the radio :) Planning to go to the gym later and do some bodyweight exercises.

De - It took me a week to get used to hard contacts. I was instructed to wear them an hour more ever day until my eyes get used to them... 1 hour the 1st day 2 hours the 2nd day... etc. How are you feeling with them in? Hope you make it to the kids games!

Debbie - I wish I knew a product that worked for dry eyes! The drops for hard contacts just blurred my vision and made tears run down my face (not the look I generally go for!) Maybe now that I have soft contacts I can try some new drops, but it's not as much of a problem now... Hope the Dr. figure out what's going on with your hubby! That is so frustrating.

Cindy - Is it a lot of work to train someone new?

Bella - you are doing so great! That is a lot of progress! I lost 1 inch in my hips and thighs and 2 in my waist.

Bella, you are doing awesome! Keep up the excellent focus. WTG with adding in a mile run into your routine. Interval training makes for an awesome workout and calorie burn.

Kids have played since they got home, ate dinner and now fast asleep. Tomorrow they are up early for their soccer games. Hopefully, I would have the energy to go to both of their games in the morning. Heading into work!

I've lost an inch in my waist and 3 in my hips, and thighs. I've lost 6 or 7 lbs. Im still attempting to complete a mile run outta my 3 miles of walking daily. I went to a chiropractor and my hips were very off, she straightened me out and my back tension is gone. I'm feeling accomplished.

Debbie good for the dr someone should be on that. Your poor DH so frustrating to seek help and not get it.

De~ Hope you find something that works for you and your eyes. I have never wore contacts.

Elle~ I have dry eyes too and am trying to find a drop that really works for me. Do you have any suggestions. I did not want to get on a prescription if I could help it.

Nancy~ I have my fitbit url in my signature! I am so excited about us connecting. I have people I have connected with but do not know them like I know you! YAY!

Cindy~ We had turkey burgers last night. I really like them better than beef.

DH went to family doctor yesterday to just lean on someone and ask questions. Family doctor is really taking on the investigation into DHs condition. DH has gained another 10 pounds and he is really losing his muscle and he is working out harder than ever. Not sure what it is but wish they would find out so he could start treatment! Doc thinks it is some kind of auto immune disorder and is going to test for different ones.

Elle, Happy Friday to you!! emoticon I went to the eye doctor just wanting glasses and now this. Yes, this is my first time in lense and I know how uncomfortable hard lenses could be. How long did it take for you to get use to them?

Cindy, dinner sounded delicious as always!!

Nancy, always great to hear from you and now it's time to try and get moving again. You can do it!!! Your right, work is going very well for me because I'm enjoying just worrying about myself and not everyone elses actions.

Tonight so far is going smoothly and guests are actually starting to head over to the airport already. Normally the traffic doesn't really start until around 5am. I've been watching other peoples weight loss journey's on YouTube and it's very motivating. We can do this!!

Nancy - The eye doctor thought that there could be a scratch on my right hard contact lense that was causing the stye. It's funny I hadn't realized this until he asked me, but they were always on the right eyelid, always in the same spot. He gave me soft contact lenses.

De - I have a stigmatism, too! That's why I have had hard contact lenses since I was in 7th grade. (glasses since 1st grade) I am so excited I am finally able to switch to soft contact lenses, the hard contact lenses weren't working for me anymore, dry eyes... styes.... etc. (They did serve me well for so many years, though!) Is it your first time with contacts? I made it to the gym yesterday. Rest days are important! I tak 1-2 per week.

Why do I get so lazy lost the thread to the room here and had two pages to read to catch up.
De hope the contacts help I just got new glasses pick them up yesterday. Getting use to them. I'm glad your adjust to your work schedule it sounds lije its working out so well.
Debbie I have a fitbit and will connect with you tomorrow. Look up my fitness pal it works with the fitbit too. I have the zip right now I'm doing a challenge with my brother and daughter Becky.. So far they are beating the pants off of me. Been so dang lazy. Couple of years ago we had a snake living under the front porch the ground had settled and it just took up living there. This was the second one. Well John got dry cement and fill dirt and filled it back in but the snake was still under there. Of course it died and when you went in the basement you could smell it was horrible for days.
Elle way to go on your pounds lost your doing so well. What did the dr say about the stys. My sons has a problem with some like that has it under control now but it was so painful to look at they didn't hurt but we're very big.
Debbie glad to hear your are looking for another dr this one sounds terrible. Anyone you can complain too?
Cindy how was the birthday party? Love having the kids over.
Well need to get to sleep for a bit. I've been having the hardest time lately and its making me so very lazy. The steroids worked for a little bit but now every morning my neck is hurting quite a bit.

Elle, did you make it to the gym? I decided to take a rest day today because I been going non stop.

As I get older my eyes have gotten worse and I can't avoid it anymore. I have an eye condition that prevents me from getting glass. I have to get hard contact lenses to help make my vision clear. It's hard to explain, but instead of my eyes being flat to see clearly they are shaped like mountains which makes my eye site blurry. The hard lens will help to flatten my eyes. I have always hated lenses and now I have no choice but to get them. Oh well! Heading into work. Later!

It may have been a dead mouse that no longer stinks. Or could have been carted off my another animal. Just glad it is gone.

A few years back I had a mouse die inside my kitchen walls. My kitchen stunk for 2 days.

Well the strangest thing, I went down to the dreaded garage ready to fight the horrific smell and it was gone! The only thing I can think of is there might be something dead in the van motor or something because DH took the van today.

Debbie, hope it's just a mouse and that you find out quickly. Such a drag! Hope adding mute protein and fruits to your plan helps. Process of illumination because what works for one doesn't mean it will work for all. My body is extremely sensations and I have to be strict with my plan in order to see results.

Cindy, hope the kids went out the door alright this morning.

I am sitting in my doctors office waiting for him to get in. The nurses have sine the pre-work and I hope he doesn't take too long to get in. I am actually starting to get tired and ready to go to bed.

Elle~ You are so right! I think I will replace a meal with a protein shake and I do need to add fruit to my diet. I have never really been a fruit eater. I do not hate it I just never crave it. I did great yesterday. I had a salad for snack instead of grabbing something high in fat like nuts. I know nuts are good for you but it does not take much to get the calories really climbing. I also did not put cream in some of my coffee yesterday. Coffee is a comfort food for me, but I like to add cream. Have gotten away from sugar in it almost completely (have it on rare occasions) so I have made a huge step there. I was able to keep my calories below 1300 yesterday! YAY! I also think my body is changing. I went to the doctor and I have already entered the start of the menopause stage. Doctor said that was kinda early, but nothing to worry about. I have been have some night sweats, weight gain in midsection, and some moodiness! OH JOY! I think that is another reason I am hungry. Not sure.

SOMETHING has died in my garage! WHAT A STINK! My husband told me to come down and smell last night and IT IS AWFUL! So today I will be on a hunt for a dead mouse or something! EEK! I need to find it but am scared what I might find! emoticon emoticon

Debbie - have you tried adding more protein? It's really important to get enough especially if you are working out really intensely like it sounds like you are doing. It also helped me to eat a big bowl of fruit in the morning and a big salad at lunch and dinner. The green things really help fill me up. If you are hungry listen to your body, just make sure you eat the right things - oh and water. I know exactly what you mean - I started getting so incredibly hungry when I started doing more serious weight training a few years ago - drinking water also helped :) emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Debbie - I am so sorry about the run around with the doctors! That sounds really frustrating.

I have been keeping my calories around 1200, more on the weekends maybe I'll go up to 2,000 one day, and 1500-1800 another day. Sparkpeople tells me that with exercise my maintain intake would be 1800, and without exercise 1600. I wasn't losing weight until I lowered my calories and cut out as much junk food as possible (wine, chips, chocolate, meals out) I still have a piece of chocolate once or twice a day.... I find it helps me not splurge at the end of the week. I'm also doing 300 min of cardio per week and 60 min of strength. Stick with it and you will definitely lose! I've been on here over a year and am FINALLY seeing results :)

We are still waiting to get any information about my husbands blood work that was done on September 30 and he was suppose to be getting scheduled for a thyroid uptake scan, then follow up with doctor on Oct 30. The place that was suppose to schedule the scan just was not calling it was the same place he had his blood done. They said they had to wait on the blood results before the scan would be scheduled. Called his doctor;s office twice they kept faxing the order but no call. They finally told me to call them which I did. THEN we find out for the first time he can not be even taking a multivitamin with iodine up to 2 weeks before the scan. WELL that was nice of them to share than information now. So I guess another 2 weeks, cancel his appt with doctor and reschedule again. They will not even share with us the blood test results good or bad! Just sick of seeing DH so miserable. He is so tired and his joints are killing him now

Debbie, hope it wasn't either. If it turns out he is having them, he should talk to the doctor about which med he was on and his symptoms. There are so many options that they should hopefully be able to find one that works for him.

Elle~ Sorry about that. Dylan is 22 years old. He had his first panic attack last year.

De~ Doctor wants him on anti depressant which totally changes his moods, kinda scary! Dylan told me he hates being on them he said everything is gray and numb when he is on them so he got off of them.

One positive thing hopefully is that Dylan just recently started rogaine and he said the side effects are dizziness and feeling faint so he said it may not have been panic attack at all! I sure hope not he is doing so good right now with his classes and seems so happy being back! I spent most of the night praying for him because you can see the terror on his face to just think it might be panic attack.

Cindy, for some reason I bounced awake after 3 hours of sleep today. I just couldn't sleep, so I actually got in a double workout. I did a walk/jog and then strength. It's great to see myself get stronger and be able to do more and more. How was your evening?

The presentation went really well - they loved my ideas! This project is ramping up, so I might have to work a little more than usual. I brought some work home with me and stayed a bit late last night, so I didn't have time for the gym. I'm up early so I'll go to the gym when it opens at 6:30 before my eye doctor's appointment at 9.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning, but tried to stay in bed until 5. I'm so nervous to find out whether the firm will renew my contract. My friend got her contract renewed yesterday, I was in meetings all day yesterday, so I hope I find out soon!

De - I like Cindy's idea of the daycare - seems fun and you have kids, so people will trust you with their's :)

It is 7:15 here and still almost dark. Of course, the clouds are not helping matters. Actual sunrise is not until 7:26 this morning.

De good luck on the job hunt. If I think of anything I will tell ya. It is a good time of year to have some extra. We usually for my side of the family for Christmas spend about 20 on a man and a womans gift and play secret santa, but I told my sis we should all bring just the money this year and give it to mom and dad for a gift because of all they have been through with the cancer. Not sure what to put the money in. Maybe a cute decorated box.

Had a great walk with the kids. Fall is so pretty and got in all my 10000 steps too.

It's 2:40 here now and I don't get off until 7:30a. So, I am half way through. What time is your boss picking you up?

Elle, hope you feel better! We're you able to make it through your workout? Good luck on your presentation tomorrow.

Cindy, glad you had a calm evening with the kids. Happy Happy Birthday to your son! You certain to have your hands full today. You will definitely be tired afterwards, but it would have been all worth it for your son. Let us know how everything goes.

Hubby took the kids out to an event this morning and they are still not home. I actually miss their little voices, but on the flip side the house is nice and quiet. I am about to call them to see what time they are coming back home. Plus, get in my well need workout.

The presentation is ready to go. Excited to see how tomorrow goes.

I am heading off to the gym even though I don't really feel like going - feeling kind of tired and headachy - supposed to be side effects from the ivf injections. Maybe I'll feel better after.

Hope your night remained calm De.

Today is a busy day again. We have religious school this morning and while the kids are in class I am leading a group in making blankets for hospice house. Then home, eat lunch and then I have to finish making all the stuff for Adam's birthday dinner and celebration this evening. He, De and another friend are coming for dinner. Then several more of his friends are coming for cake, so I will have a houseful. Looking forward to it, but suspect I will be tired afterwards.

Debbie, you will get there because you are determined. One day at a time and your body will adjust to your new routine. They say it takes 21 days for your body to adjust to change.

Elle, How did everything go with finalizing your presentation?

I'm here at work and it isn't too busy. I'm actually enjoying the night and can't believe it's already 1:33. The night is going by quicker than I thought it would. Actually waiting for the lobby to settle down at the bar. I got in my workout today and I still need to plug in my calories to see how I did. I think I did alright because I didn't eat crazily.

Hey everyone! I hope that you all have a wonderful day! I have been having trouble staying within my calorie range for some reason! I went way over yesterday. I use to have trouble even getting in the minimum. I need you all to give me a swift kick! LOL But also on my fitness page I go way over what I am suppose to in calorie burn. It keeps telling to adjust my fitness or something like that. SO I know I will not be down on weight Monday. emoticon
