Ok, I have taken the first step and have reactivated my spark page. I am having such a hard time finding my motivation for any physical activity!! Its never been this bad before. I know its important, I know I need to do it, but I keep up the denial and excuses like its my job. So I am here making my confession in hopes of calling myself out and facing reality. I am setting a goal of doing at least three days of some sort of physical activity, its a start RIGHT?

Oh, forgot to comment on the veggie situation...keep in mind, 1 serving of cooked is only 1/2 cup. For dinner I usually have at least 1 full cup, it's not that much. And for lunch, I'll have a sandwich with veggies in it and that'll count as at least one. Maybe carrot sticks or something too. Then 2 fruit...I think juice might count, but I often have a banana in the morning and maybe grapes in the afternon....

Anyway, usually don't have trouble getting my 5 in somehow..but I really like veggies, so I'm lucky..

Hey everyone..sorry I haven't checked in in awhile...been busy...blah! I just want a few days to lock myself in my room and everyone leave me alone! LOL No phone calls, no meetings, no running errands, just slide the food under the door and back away! But, alas, time stops for no man (or woman)...

Anywho...hope Connor's drum recital went well!

The meetings usually aren't too boring...but reviewing the evidence isn't a load of fun. :P Especially when we have a long investigation...ugh!

I'm soooo tired....my supervisor called me at 11:15pm last night asked me to come in because the normal person is on vaca and the person she got to cover hadn't shown up...blech! So, I went in...then at midnight guess who showed up? Yup..the replacement! Apparently the girl she was coveing for told her midnight not 11pm. Well, this is the girl that causes all kinds of other misunderstanding and confusion and I'm so SICK OF IT! The management know that it's her causing all of this drama, why arent they doing anything??????? Anyway, I left, she apologized all over the place, but not her fault...so came back home, then up early to take niece to school, now want to just take a nap..however, if I nap I just feel like I wasted so much time..why do we need to sleep anyway? I either need more hours in the day or not to have to sleep! I'd be so happy!

Ok, done venting...On a happy note, since starting this medication 3 weeks ago, I've lost...duh-duh-du-duhhhhhhhhh.....12 pounds! Crazy, right!? I'm thrilled, although it is causing (sorry for the TMI) constipation...ewwww.... On that note, I don't want to be in the Yule challenge (if we're still doing it..lol) because I don't think it's fair to everyone..it's like athletes using steroids or something. No biggie.

I feel kinda blah today...crappy mood..not sure what to do about it. maybe a nap will help...it'll kinda reboot me. I dunno...

Hello, Today is Connor's drumming recital in Reading. It is at the PAL Center on Walnut street. He is soooo nervous. Apparently it is a fundraiser which is for the Olivet Boys and Girls Club. I know he will do well but he is still anxious. We drop him off at Noon and the recital starts at 7pm. Hope all is well w/ everyone.

Hello Everyone,

How are you doing? For some reason lately I can only get 2 to 3 freggies into my diet. I just don't want to eat anymore unless they are in a salad. weird. Any ideas on how to motivate me to eat more freggies?

Hello Everyone. Any meetings, if required, can be tedious. I think the ghost hunting itself would be fun but the meetings.... not so much. :-)

Work in any way, shape or form is blah. I wish I could become independently wealthy and none of us would have to work again ! Pina Colada's and beaches for us! oh yeah, and our own gorgeous personal trainers... sweet !

Well enough fantasizing, back to work. Hope everyone is doing ok.

Howdy ya'll....how is everyone? Since I haven't heard from anyone (on here) I can't respond to anything, so I'll just talk about myself...lol

Just came home from ghost hunting meeting...how do I get stuck running those meetings? Who nominated me? I think I missed something..lol Oh well. (Jen, I feel for ya! LOL) Doin' good...nothing especially new and exciting...

Going to work tonight, start of a new work week :P Oh well..I gotta pay the bills...(which reminds me, I really need to pay those bills...I keep forgetting! lol) And one of my residents is sick..AGAIN! I really think he needs to go to the doctor, this is getting ridiculous..like 2 weeks on and off...maybe he went already, but I don't think so. I gotta remember to say something to my supervisor....

The new meds from this study in Hershey seem to be fine for me.. no side effect, but I'm only on 5 mg, and they'll up it to 15 mg next week, so maybe I'll have issues then, but hopefully not. I usually don't end up with bad side effects with meds, so should be ok. Down 3 pounds since starting them a week ago...woo hoo! Getting excited! Of course, I have been really really good at my calories, so that helped I'm sure, but didn't really get good exercise in last week...just to much going on...hopefully this week will be better, but missed today (maybe I'll take an exercise video to work tonight to do.)

Thanks for letting me know! Actually another friend of mine called me this evening to tell me the same thing..lol. I guess everyone knows about my Jeff-crush! ;)

So, thank goodness the parade was cancelled tonight, just not in the mood...so I get an unexpected night off! Yay!

Oh, can't forget to change the clocks tonight! We gain an hour!!! Woo hoooooo!

So...hmmmmmm...nothing else new...I just see you guys too often..lol, then I have nothing to talk about!

I'm ready for sleep! I'm still trying to catch up from my work week, which was 6 days ago..lol

I just saw that Jeff Dunham is coming to the Sovereign Center on Jan. 2nd at 8pm. He will only be there for one night. I know how much you like him Mindy and thought you might want to know. :-)

Taiya, you'd so blow past us at the gym! lol We usually go around 9 or 10am during the week.

Keeping this reply short since I'm on Phil's computer and it takes me forever to type because the keyboard keeps skipping letters...look, I'll type this paragraph again and you'll see!!!

Hello!
Today was tough. Delicious foods. I did pretty well considering the donuts, brownies, assorted candies, etc. How was everyone else's day? Not much of a workout today. 35 minute fast walk is all I could get in. Really wish I was closer to you both for working out. What times do you go to the gym?

Hello Everyone! What I find hard about doing this challenge is logging everything into here. I am trying to do it as I eat. It seems to make it easier. Anyone here who goes to Valhalla Health Club in Exeter? I go to the Brandywine YMCA but believe it or not, Valhalla is about the same price for a single membership. Nicer place too, they have a Sauna, my favorite! I would love to have a workout buddy since my husband and son don't like to exercise. Their idea of exercise is running 4 miles or hiking all day long. I don't mind the hiking but can't do it all day every day. Running, I am up to 2 miles but I feel like I died when I'm done so don't want to do that everyday either. Someone who I can go to the gym with would be better.

Ya know guys, you get a point every day that you check in with the group....so, I'm getting all the points! LOL You guys are missing out! :D

So...I'm tracking food (very detailed, like time I eat, what meal it is..where I eat it..etc etc) for this study in Hershey. I only have to track for 3 days so far..I might or might not have to track after my next appt..I hope not, it's a pain in the butt!

Soooooooo....i hate talking to "myself" here...you guys need to post so I have someone to talk to! LOL

Thanks...I'm getting there! LOL It's actually 25 now total, the 12 that's listed is 5% of what it was..I originally had my total, but the marker wasn't moving much, so thought I'd break it down to smaller goals..we'll see how that works. Maybe I'll up it to 10% though...we'll see........

BTW, Jen...I left my hat at your house today. I'll get it Monday I guess, no rush.

Hope everyone has a good Sunday tomorrow! I want to finish cleaning out my closet, general clean the downstairs and get out fall decorations...finally!

Hey all...checking in...if anyone has questions, you can sparkmail me too, I can try to answer some to take some pressure off Jen.

It is overwhelming at first, but really it's easy, it's just hard to explain sometimes in typing and not being right there with someone showing them what to do and where to find info. No worries!

Hey guys! Some of you have been asking questions about how to use SparkPeople. My laptop cord was chewed on by a puppy so I have a limited time to get my stuff done when my folks loan me their charger.

I will do my best to answer all your questions on here so everyone can benefit from the answers.

1. It seems that when I went into my SparkStreaks and edited to show on sparkpage it reset everything. I won't show what I accomplished last week. I'm sorry, I did not realize it would do that, or maybe I just hit something wrong. I have no idea. Hope this doesn't throw you off with checking our point calculations. -- We're on the honor system, however I didn't realize it took your checkmarks away. That sucks!

I'll start... :)

I just heard from Hershey and I'm in the study! Yippee! Have an appointment in a couple weeks...get to fast again, and walk on the treadmill and get a full body scan...all kinds of fun stuff..lol

Boy, that circuit training this morning at the gym wiped me out! It's a lot of calories burned too..over 400 for just 1/2 hour. I can believe it! How do you feel, Jen? I took a loooong nap this afternoon, I guess I should go to bed before 1am when I have to get up at 7..lol

edited: I didn't realize most people on here prolly don't know what I'm talking about..lol. There's a study going on at Hershey Med for people with PCOS and trying to get pregnant and Phil and I had to do a bunch of med tests to make sure we qualified and we just heard from them....so there's a brief description, so people aren't lost..lol Oh and PCOS basically means my hormones and insulin are all goofed up and my body is totally confuzled!

So the next "leg" of the study is for weight loss (3 months I think.) Either 1. I'll do just diet (and extreme logging...what's on SP here isn't even close to the details you need for those logs..pain in the butt!) 2. I'll do just medication (not sure which one..Metformin maybe? don't remember) or 3. do both-diet/logs and meds.

Then the 2nd "leg" is the next 3 months or something, with a fertility drug instead of weight loss drug...I think...don't really remember details, there was so much involved and not knowing if I'd get in the study, I didn't take notes or anything..lol I'll keep ya'll updated after my doc appt...2 weeks!
