Hi everybody! Is it too late to jump into this one? I usually sleep fairly well, but lately I've have problems sleeping and staying asleep. My normal bedtime is about 9 or 9:30 when my hubby works. When he's off 2 nights I don't make it to bed very early. Then at times I wake up in the middle just for the sake of waking up. My normal rising time is anywhere from 4 to 5:30 in the morning when he gets home from work. Sooo I guess I need work on this one. Let me know! Thanks, Charitie

Ah Ladies: It is sooo good to know that I'm not the only one!

Went to bed at a good time. Woke up in pain. At least the pain was in a different place AND I wasn't as hungy as last time so I was able to go back to sleep.

I've placed a container of walnuts on my bedstand.

Awww, ladies... emoticon it's going to bed at a regular time that is important. I too struggle with too early or mid- sleep wake ups...

I did better last night, but I took meds to help with muscle pain last night...

Bad night last night. Went to bed at my regular time, but it took almost three hours to fall asleep. Of course I woke at my regular time - my body is just programmed that way. I can't tell yet if I'll be dragging today or not.

I've been trying to be better about going up to bed when I'm tired, instead of just falling asleep in front of the TV. Well, ok. I ALWAYS fall asleep in front of the TV. But, I've been better about going up to bed at a decent time. emoticon

Went to bed around 11, but had a hard time going off. Woke up a few times during the night but was able to go back to sleep. Woke up around 7:30 (tried to talk myself into going back to sleep) but gave up around 8.

Well, I scheduled bedtime for 11pm. But then I found out I had to show up for jury duty. This means I'm getting up earlier than usual. So my bedtime has been getting earlier 10:30, even 10pm. But now I'm off jury duty. emoticon But I think I will still try for 10 or 10:30 just so I can catch up a little bit in the next few days. And hopefully no more waking up in the middle of the night worrying about stuff. emoticon

I did a bit better last night. I was in bed earlier, reading...which relaxes me. My husband came to bed, with his latest gadget, a wind-up emergency radio...noisy!!!! I know, right?!!? Who brings that to bed??!!! He also had to demonstrate the radio`s flashing red lights, and flashlight features!! No wonder I have trouble with sleep!

But, I did fall asleep earlier, and only woke once.

I went to bed at my normal time, but had trouble going to sleep. I think my schedule has been so off the last few days (getting up earlier than usual) that it doesn't know what to do. Up early again today. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. lol

I like seeing that everyone is being more intentional about bedtime, good job!

The challenge is about controlling the bedtime, which is supposed to encourage better sleep for the long run.

I have been in bed on time, but not ready to sleep. I have to start earlier if I want to be ready to sleep! So I am learning.

I also, have been waking middle of the night, or extra early...

Monday and Tuesday nights I was pretty much on the mark for falling asleep, although I did go to bed about 1/2 hour later than normal. Only difference is that I didn't read before falling off. Last two mornings I have gotten up waaaay toooo early. Yesterday because I had to. Today - well, I don't know why. We'll see what that does to my day.

I'm sure I have flunked this challenge before I've even started it. I do fall asleep fairly easily. It is the part about not being able to fall asleep during the night, if I happen to wake up. Working on our house these past weeks, tho, has helped me get better sleep. That part has been nice. When the DR asked me how much sleep I'm getting every night? I really couldn't answer. I guesstimated it to be 6-7 hours. I really don't know. emoticon

I like that you want to do this challenge for three weeks. They say that it takes at least 21 days to make a habit.

Looking like sleep, getting to bed at a reasonable time is leading so far...I am up for anything that improves my life, and sleep ranks way up there!

So, why don't we post if we got to bed within 30 minutes of our scheduled time, so set a time, and be sure you are snuggled in ready to sleep!

Let`s start posting our success, or not, beginning Monday, June 10th. I think we usually do a challenge for two weeks, but let's go through the night of June 30th. That way we will have almost three weeks to work on this vital habit.

You and me both with sunshine or daylight till after 9pm I do stuff then sit down and realize I either go to bed at 10 (which I like even though not asleep till 11 but I am resting) or waiting till 11, but getting up at 515-530 for work is so hard!

I prefer challenges that focus on physical well being, so I'm game for things like going to bed at a reasonable time and eating within calorie range--two challenges I face particularly during the summer months when things are fairly unstructured here.

I agree with Elisa, Sheri. Going to bed at a regular time can be challenging, especially in the summer when I get lax with my sleeping and rising hours. Also watching the college baseball "Road to Omaha" can put a dent in sleeping, especially when the west coast has a good game going.

I finally threw out my list and everything. I take it one day at a time. The only list I keep is grocery and stops to make and I get to them when I get to them.

I have not touched my stitching in a few weeks but I will get to it. Have not walked since Tues but the weather has been rainy so I get to it when I can.

Wonderful ideas SHERIO!!

Here's my thinking: going to bed at a regular time. Figuring out a regular time could be the most challenging. LOL

What would you like to do for our June Team Challenge?

Challenges are a great way to "spark" some healthy competition, start or maintain a healthy habit, or have some accountability.

Here are a few suggestions:

Go to bed at a regular time.

Exercise every day.

Eat at least 5 servings of fruits or vegetables.

Be grateful, count blessings, practice thankfulness.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water.

Stay within a healthy calorie range.

So, what would be helpful? Give me some suggestions for what YOU would like to see as a challenge. I will keep track of suggestions and get a challenge started for the most popular suggestion.

Thanks, team!

Sheri
