I would get things checked. It can be a host of things, hormones, fibroids...etc...some benign, some scarier. I wouldn't just accept it as "normal", even though it could be. Since it is new for you...check it out!

Even "hormones" can cause abnormal conditions. ..

Good luck! I know bleeding for ages at a time stinks...and the fatigue of being anemic... emoticon

Is this normal: I have had my period 6 weeks out of 2 months... I suppose I'm peri-menapausal at age 50 and should make an appt. to see the OBGYN. It's so frustrating and an inconvenience to always have your period. Exhausting too because I am anemic.

All4me~

Hope your acupuncturist or doctor has some remedy.
Interested in hearing what they have to say.

Sounds to me like a hot flash symptom.

Somewhere on this Team's site is a post I believe called, "An (anatomy?) of a hot flash."

If you can't find that, then look for other topics about hot flashes on this site. It may help you a lot.

In the meantime, I'll try to find the Topic I'm thinking of for you.... emoticon

Sorry you are having symptoms. I have fibro too, and odd, Neuro symptoms can go along with that...I get prickly pains sometimes...or like something is crawling or dripping on my skin...I also have heard some folks get odd sensations with menopause/Perimenopause...

I would check it out with your doctor, a new symptom should be evaluated...

Good luck!

No, not a sharp pain and I haven't changed anything recently. And it isn't a constant thing. It happens and lasts for a couple of minutes then it is over. Was just curious if it was a symptom. :) Thanks for listening, tho.

hey All4me...

Have you started or stopped a new supplement, medication, lotion, perfume, hair product, body wash, laundry detergent, ...food or beverage within the last couple of weeks? If so that might be the culprit.

Sounds miserable, do hope you find some relief soon.

I do have Fibro, but have never had this experience before. Guess I'll ask my acupuncturist on Saturday. LOL It is like a hot flash, but with a prickly sensation.

Sounds unusual to me. Almost sounds like something related to nerves, or neurological. Any other weird symptoms?

I'm pretty new, though, to this peri-menopause stuff. Maybe someone else knows more about "normal" than I do. I also have MS (a neurological illness), so I'm pretty quick to "hear" neurological-like symptoms, maybe even when they might be related to something else.

The past few days, I get what feels like bee stings or needle pokes on my neck and upper chest. I get warm and then it feels like I'm being stung by tons of bees. Is this another symptom? I asked my mom, but she doesn't remember ever having that when she was going through menopause.
