I currently carry my gear in a duffel bag, with my helmet clipped to the handles. There are pockets on the side of my mouthguard, duct tape, etc. I've been eyeing up some of the hard-sided rolling bags, but first I'm going to get some new outdoor wheels and a new set of bearings!

I use a rolling carry-on bag. I was using a duffle bag, but I didn't like that I couldn't clearly see everything. The harder sides of my carry-on lets me pack everything in a specific way, so I can see all of my gear and not have to think a whole lot about it before a bout. Plus, I have pockets for my tools, duct tape, and extra wheels. The one I have now is a bit too small to keep my helmet in it, so I clip it to the outside. It also has a handle on the top and on the side, so I can carry it pretty easily (instead of trying to roll it up or down stairs).

I use a duffle bag on wheels. I keep all of my gear in it, everything fits well. But, i am begging the hubby to get me a radar sling bag for my birthday next month. :)

Thanks for the ideas. I think that the bag type ones would let me carry more than the box/suitcase type ones...plus the bags are cheaper! I try not to carry more than I need though because I am afraid my stuff might walk off. My dad said he once went skating at a rink and at the end of the night he had no shoes-someone took his shoes!!!

For years, I carried my skates in the Roll Line bag that they gave me when I got my plates. That meant that I had to carry yet another bag with my other gear because it was just too much to stuff in one bag. It was ridiculous because I looked like a pack mule 1/2 the time between the two bags, my water jug, etc.

My husband bought me an Atom Luigino trolley bag for Christmas this year. It has a ton of room and I'm able to get everything I need in one place, plus room for extra stuff.

It was great for a while as all my gear fits in there (except my helmet which I clip to the outside). But after about 8 months, the seams are starting to come apart. I love how easy it is to throw on my back. Lots of girls use huge duffle bags in my league and I might switch later. They don't seem as easy to carry as the backpack style though.

Good luck!

I got my own skates! I love them...better than rentals but the first night I used them they were slow? They feel better now though. I had some rubs & blisters from them, but I am going to get one of those moleskin things and stick where I am rubbing (inside my skates) because they are my skates...and now I know where I get rubbed around. That should help me skate with less problems!
So I have been carrying them around by hand. Kind of feels awful to carry them around by the laces, so I carry them around by the tops of them. But I have seen others having boxes or cases to carry their skates in...I am wondering if anyone can recommend one?
I found some on Amazon.com that can be ordered in any color, but I am worried they are only for kids skates?
then I found some what looked like book bags or purses instead of a "box" for your skates.
I was wondering how you carry them, and which one would be best to use? More comfortable/and or better for keeping skates in better condition.
I guess I am just afraid I will accidentally wail my skates into my car's window at night when I am in the parking lot...
