It is finished! My major research paper for my Master's is complete and graded! I will graduate at the end of the month. Unfortunately, I incorporated some terrible eating habits during my all-night writing sessions. Now I have to get back on track, and restore my healthy lifestyle.

Hubby and I walked 2 miles today!

Dropping in to give an update! I am finishing up my Master's thesis this week and hopefully, I will regain a portion of my life back. I fell off the work-out wagon for a couple of weeks and the all day and all night writing was so intense.

I am back on track today, because I am noticing one week off track can easily turn into a one month set-back.

I think I can...I think I can...I know I can!

Hi Tulips! It has been a while since I last posted. I have been travelling to take care of family business and I got a really bad cold/flu. It is now almost two weeks and I am still talking with a squeaky voice and low energy levels. I will be happy when I feel better so that I can start my workouts and my walks again.

sometimes all it takes is time. Called for under employment today but got nowhere, gee, it could have gone better. thanks for the well wishes. the wedding went well and everyone is backhome safe and sound. going for a walk these days is about all the peace there is for the time being, workin on it!!. good to see u posting more often. is there anyone still around from the old pack?. not eating breakfes today to much to do. but I have a good lunch and supper ready. hows ur family life, sounds good but just wondering if it all settled down, haven't heard anything in a very long time. glad to see ur still traveling and employed. Sounds like u have kept a good head on ur shoulders and that always helps with the health and food stuff. Got some good receipts off of here, u might want to look at chili for the winter, they have a vegee one that sounds really good and under 300 calories!!. we could add a little low fat cheese to that and we would have a real treat. gotta go, lots to do. be back in a few days

I decided to get back to u guys and just watch what iam doing with my days. took a small walk this morning and will do another after work. Had a very busy day yesterday with excerise and have to work over half today, high stress and no time to eat. On the other hand will have healthy supper and snack. Will have both orange and cranberry juice and water. In a few days I can refill my frigerator with fruit andvegs again. I have been worried about eviction and jobs and others in my family are also under alot of stress. But today I can drink the water and walk and at least have two healthy meals.

Drinking my two large cups of green tea, adding fiber and fruits to my diet. Cutting back on carbs, working out with my ab roller, hand weights, and doing my turbo jam moves to my music. Also reading spark information, blogs and visiting friend pages for motivation a couple of times a week.

Making everyday count with healthy thoughts and actions!

I am busy with school and do not have as much free time on the internet, but my goal is to drop in and post an update at least 3 times a week.

Welcome to the team! Walking and Yoga are great workouts! Keep up the good work and keep posting.

I am also in school and know the stress of assignments, so let's continue to encourage each other.

Today I did TJ 10min and walked. Also, my scale broke this week, this may be the best thing that has happened because now I will workout and watch for the changes instead of having the scale tell me thie changes.

Hi Breeze, You latest workout update was super! I have traveling and it has been hard trying to keep my "Spark" Lite! The good news is that I have not abandoned all my healthy habits, but I have not been consistent with my workout. Good morning ladies. Apologies for not being around I was going through some personal problems but I have still managed to stay healthy. So far for the week I have exercised for 90 mins at the gym 60 min elyptical and 30 min treadmill. I am focusing mainly on my eating habits because that seem to be my weight loss hamper. You all are doing great!

Darcie, I know it is slow over here now, but I will be here chatting away until I reach my goal, and then motivate others to reach theirs. It takes a lot of work to build a team, and I will work on it again after I get through this class.

Good to see you are using our P90X. I know a lot of people who purchased it and it now lives in the box unused.

I am running in place, doing a lot of walking and some running chasing the g-son. Tonight, I am starting a new personal challenge to do a set of abs workout for the next seven days. I love the TJ standing abs routine.

We have had internet and cable problems and the techs came today and everything is running well and they even showed me how to get exercise programs on demand. I am a happy to know I can now work out with different workouts at my on schedule. I will keep you post!

I know how tough it can be when you are exhausted. Everything always happens at once doesnt it? What happen to this group?? There used to be a lot of people on it!!! It seems like you and me and Breeze are the only ones posting...kinda a bummer. :( I did Kenpo *x* yesterday and WOW it was a fantastic good sweaty workout! So far it is my favorite in the P90X program!! I am not following the program to the *T* I would be way to bored from all the weight lifting. I try to mix it with fit TV stuff. Anyways I hope everyone who is reading has a great week!!

Thanks for the group suggestion. I am so exhausted from this class and my life that I feel bad because I am not getting in the workout that I need basically due to sheer exhaustion. I can not get creative to come up with any challenges on my own, so I will check it out. To be perfectly honest I will not be able to do it until the end of this class which is in two weeks. The sad fact is that I feel my belly jiggling again. I don't think I have gained weight, but my metabolism have slowed down and I don't feel as toned. Also, I am not over eating, but I am not eating properly...skipping meals which is not good for me.

It sounds like you have your hands full! Going to the park with my nieces always wears me right out!! Just think that you are burning calories while you are playing. :) I also found a group on Spark People that I think you would like! It is called *One day challenges* I actually look forward to going to see what the Moderator has come up with for the next day!! They are small things, nothing hardcore or a long commitment. The Moderator posts a new *challenge* every night by 9pm. I feel it is a great mix to everything that I do with this site! I did not work out today but plan on trying to do something tommorro and Sunday. I hope you have a great weekend!!

I am so glad you are hear, and I really enjoy reading your healthy updates.

School is tough and the summer session seems to be the toughest trying to squeeze in everything in my life.

I have my three-year-old g-son for 2weeks and it has been an interesting juggle. TV is not for PBS and cartoons and my workout has been daily, run and play in the park with him. It's worth it because when I get home I am exhausted and it has been good to find new parks and walk and bike trails that I will be able to enjoy after he goes home.

Take care of your back...I look forward to incorporating FitTV into my workout.

Today I did a FitTV dance program, yesterday I did P90X. I am not following P90X to the *T*... I decided that when I first got it. I do not want to build muscle and look like a man LOL The FitTV Dance program was called Carnaval and it is a form of Brazilian style dancing. I hope to get more water down!! I did the Cardio X on Friday and I LOVED IT! It was hard but not impossible. Yes back problems are chronic and I can either work through them, or sit around and do nothing. What I do is once it starts hurting I back off on what is causing the pain. Lifting heavy objects and doing push ups or plank position is what gets it hurting. I can only press on and hope for the best.

You will love Fit TV. I highly recommend the dance workouts/Sharon Mann and Gilad. What I do is go to FitTV and scroll through and pick out the ones that sound good. Most are 30 min, some are an hour. The dance workouts are my favorite and I know you said you like to dance so I bet you would love these too!

Your school sounds very hard, I am proud and admire your hard work and determination!!! It will all pay off in the end. emoticonemoticon

Now, that is commitment to attempt P90X alone at 5:30 AM. What I find most amazing is that you are doing it with your back problems. My sister have similar issues and she is limited in her workout routine. Take care of yourself.

I will be home soon and I look forward to working out with my new friends on FitTV.

School is tough. I have to get in 12 to 14 weeks worth of work in four to six week periods. If I could get in the groove with the same commitment with my workout I would be a slim and healthy woman.emoticon

It is great to see you adapt to any sort of situation such as small workout spaces ect. I am cheering for you!! Good job on the water. Even though it is blazing hot here, I still lack the basic water I should be drinking. Your food choices are excellent! Keep up the good work.

Well my P90X with hubby was derailed. He got a call last night that his training schedule has changed. I will still continue to do it, just have to do it by myself. That is no problem as I am excited to get a new program! Since I didnt have complete time to do the X Cardio, I pulled up a Sharon Mann show I had from Fit TV and did 30 minutes with her. At least I did something. I plan on continuing with P90X tommorro morning at 5:30.

WOW you stay up super late!! how do you manage with such little sleep?? I hope you are doing good in your school!

I have mentioned in the past I have a bad back. Problems are a lower lumbar curve and Degenerative Disc Disease between C6-C7. My lower back has really been giving me a fit these last few months. I do all the stretches, have done physical therapy ect with no relief. I go to pain management but they are more concerned on counting pain pills then they are in treating me. They are the only clinic in my town so I cant switch, I wish I could. Anyways hope everyone has a great day!!

Hi Everyone! Darcie, I tried to do the DVD today, but I am visiting my mom and her place is small and I just did not have enough room in the bedroom we are in. I did do some standing ab work, some stretches and running in place for about 20 minutes today. The good news is that the heat is making me get in the habit of drinking extra water. I also drink 2 cups of green tea daily. I am eating my oatmeal, cheerios or yogurt for breakfast, snack is typically fruit, bannas, peaches or grapes or applesauce. The only meat I am eating for now is chicken or turkey. It will be interesting to see my weigh-in results when I return home.

Get that dvd out and MAKE TIME for yourself!!! We started the P90X today!! we started at 4:30 am. I know that is crazy but my husband is in the Marines and has to be at work by 6:30 and we are both the type that WONT do it *later tonight*. I dont mind making time for my health!! There are several different programs you can pick from. We are doing what is called *Lean* I am not interested in the *Classic* as that is for people that want big muscles LOL I dont want that! hubby said that *lean* is fine with him.

First of all I am NOT in hardcore tip/top shape. The workout WAS very challanging. We did a workout called *Core Synergistics* tommorro is *X Cardio* the program tells you what workout to do and even includes a 98 minute Yoga workout. The Core workout today was very challenging and I had to do the push ups on my knees. Thats ok though as one of the other girls on the dvd was also on her knees/doing modifications (using the band instead of weights ect) I remember when I could not do the entire *Fat Blaster* on Turbo Jam. Everything is one step at a time. Good job on taking that nice long walk!!! Best of luck to everyone today!!

Thanks Sherry. Everyone is doing awesome. yesterday I did the express version of the firm cardio overdrive. A great tape but not as exciting as p90x. I have seen the commercial and it is an excellent tape

This week my fitness goal is a least 4x a week so far 2/4.

Hi Ladies!

I am currently out-of-town and my eating has been pretty good. Still staying away from red meat because it does not digest well with me. Today I walked 1.5 miles. The sad truth is that I have my Turbo Jam DVD, and have not played it once. I hope I get in a couple of sessions while I am away.

Breeze, 45 minutes a day is a great goal. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your celebrations as you reach your goals.

Hi Ladies!
Hubby says we will start the P90X on Thursday at 4:30 am...... I did a TON of walking this weekend and am confused why the scale says I gained three pounds.... I did not sit around and eat junk food. I have to adjust my ticker so it shows three more pounds to lose. I am too tired to workout as this weekend was really, really HOT out. I hope you all stay strong and good luck in your workouts!!

Sherry, yes the P90X has a *Fitness test* lol the test is the BARE minimum you should be able to do... my hardest thing was push ups. I do not have a lot of upper body strength. You should be able to do three the *real* way or 10 on your knees. I am ready to give it a try...if I hate it then I will let hubby do it while I go back to FitTV and Turbo Jam. :)

I was able to do a 5 min stretching set and I did some walking tonight when we went to see the fireworks...so I will count that into my healthy choices today. I am drinking lots of fluids especially water other than that it is ginger ale and gator aid. I was able to hold down a small amount of pancakes today. I opted that over flour water my husband wanted to to drink. I also had applesauce and toast. Tomorrow I will try boiled egg whites and toast.

P90X comes with it's own fitness test???? That really is an extreme workout. I look forward to reading your post as you begin your P90X journey. Good to hear you are enjoying your Wii. I heard the Wii Fitness Plus is a good workout.

I have found a new park to walk and hopefully bike when I am back to 100%.

It sounds like you are having a really rough time! I hope things go better and please try to keep those fluids up as much as you can. You can go without food but you cannot go without fluids. Yes I read through the P90X and I do pass the *fitness test* they have you take before attempting the workout. I know it is going to be super tough and in the next few weeks I think I will be ready for the challenge

Last night we set up the WII and I have never had so much fun!!!! The last video game system I had was Atari LOL my husband has a XBox but I do not understand how to play it and I have no interest in it. I played Baseball last night and even though the graphics are not as great as the Xbox it was a great workout for my arms/shoulders. I think the concept behind the Wii is really fantastic!

We are off today to the track and I have made a pledge to do a lot of walking and to stay off the scooter. I am sending you good healing vibes Sherry and hope you get better real soon!!

Darcie, Good for you P90X and Wii Games, I have heard great things about both. Keep me posted with your P90X workouts. I have cousins who is using it now with her hubby and they both say you need to be in shape to keep up. I know you will do well. Enjoy your weekend!

I did not do any workouts today. I am nursing a nasty stomach virus again that attacked me last night and had me in the bed and bathroom all day. I can't even hold down water and crackers. I am forcing liquids down because I feel dehydrated. Think healthy thoughts for me everyone...I need to be better soon.

I've got to go and do some homework while I can hold my head up.

Hello everyone!
I did not work out today because I am doing a lot of packing and lifting this evening and we are headed for the track tommorro. I got something very exciting and scary in the mail today....emoticonemoticonP90X..... my husband first saw it when I was doing Fat Blaster. Chalene actually has a short commerical on her Fat Blaster about P90X when it was first being developed. My friend bought it for me for my birthday. The program was and is way to expensive for me, so I never bought it. I am NOT going to buy the *stuff* that they recommend getting (pull up bar, supplements, special protein ect) I can make do with the few things I have here :) The program looks very, very challenging and my husband said we would do it together. We plan on starting in a few weeks!!! The program has a lot of information and I like the cookbook that came with it. I also got a *WII* from my dad for my birthday!!! I heard the games are a great way to workout and have fun!! anyways anyone want to come over and play??? emoticon stay strong!!

I feel you with the gym membership. As I drive by the gyms in the area, I long to have a membership, but non are recession price friendly at this time. I am am full time student and can not afford a membership at this time.

I am pulling out my old DVDs and trying to catch some workouts on FitTV, but I am not familiar with the program lineup.

Darcie, I wish I could join you for a gym workout!emoticonemoticon.

For now, I am going to keep focus on getting workout in at least once a day.

Today, had my Yogurt with blackberries and strawberries. Yummy. For lunch I will have a mesquite chicken sandwich with low calorie bread, and Colby Jack cheese with a small fruit cup. For dinner I plan on having a loaded vegetable pasta salad and baked chicken.

Hello Breeze!
I am sorry to hear about your gym membership. I wish you lived close to me as I have all access to all the gyms on the Marine Base and it is free for me to use and I can bring 3 *guests* each time I go. I never go as I do not want to go alone. If you lived near by we could all get in the car and go workout!! (the scenary is fantastic in those gyms emoticon) Hubby is a Marine and he works out at work so he never wants to go back to the gym once he gets home, which I totally understand.

I see you like the same FitTV shows as I do. I love Sharon and Gilad!! I also like Cathe Friedrich. I also tape Shimmy and like you, I love the belly dancing!! I love any kind of dancing as it goes by super fast and I feel like I had fun.

Good job on doing Gilad and Sharon!!! emoticonemoticon I like to combine both of those shows as they both do different things. Right now I can hear Gilad saying *Excellent work* haha

I am a HUGE yogurt eater. I could eat it all day long! You will like Sharon Mann and also Gilad is very good! I also enjoy the Bellydancing classes and some of the *All Star* workouts. I NEED FitTV. When I first started working out a few years ago, I was doing nothing but Turbo Jam and it got old real fast. Now I try to mix things up or I will get lazy and bored and quit. I am glad you are still here as I feel better to have a place and *report* and see what everyone else is also doing.

Today I did Punch, Kick and Jam which is my FAVORITE Turbo Jam workout. emoticon I even pushed myself a bit and put on my weighted gloves. I do have to admit I had to push myself through the Capoeira(sp) as I find this section boring lol.

Good job on the Turbo 20!!! That is a great start to getting back to your old fitness level. emoticon

good morning ladies,
Sorry I have been missing in action. My gym membership expired and I cant afford to renew and it had me a little depressed that I wasnt exercising like I should but I am on target. Saturday I exercised with Fit TV, Sharon and Gilad. I love the belly dancing section when I need a smile and a exercise. I think this week I need to pull out my dvds in order to stay on track. Darcie, My goal is to get back to at least a hour workout daily, but for now I am just trying to do something everyday.

I love and need Activia yogurt...it is good for my system. This is one on my new daily staples for food. I try to incorporate three things everyday and that is Activia, water and green tea.

I need to check out Sharon Mann. I also need a recorder box to record my favorites. Did TJ 20 minute today and worked up a sweat. I haven't caught up to your level of workout yet, but I am determined to regain my past workout energy level.

I see you and I both eat Activia yogurt!! I love it!! keep up the great work!!

Today I got up and did Fit TV 30 min (with commercials) Dance to be fit Hip/Hop Cardio and then 30 min Kickboxing with Sharon Mann. I really like Sharon's show. It is always a good workout. I wish they would not have commercials though as it takes away from my minute count of working out. We are leaving Thursday on a seven hour drive to Summit Point raceway for another race weekend. We did our grocery shopping and I did buy two bad things.... pop tarts and I plan on making 4th of July cupcakes (passing them out to everyone) I hope to get in a lot of walking again!! hope you all have a great day!!

I got up today and did Bollywood dance workout that I taped off FitTV it was pretty good except I didnt like the head snapping/neck whipping..I didnt feel it was a good enough warm up to be doing all of that so I did some mods :) I then followed it up with TJ Fat Blaster..... I have not done it in over two years and I forgot how challenging and fun it is!! I am proud to report I didnt die at the end LOL I am going to try and get that water in me as I do not like the taste of water and I always struggle with it!! I hope you all have a great weekend!

I am sorry to hear about what is going on with you and your health. Please take care of yourself before worrying about working out!

Today I did 3T... I thought I was going to die....I used to be able to do it no problem...I am going to be sore tonight. I have to force myself to do this, I have never liked working out. I forgot about Fit TV and went through to pick out a bunch of shows to tape. I always love Sharon Manns stuff. Anyone use FitTv and recommend any shows? It looks like they have a bunch of new stuff from when I used to use it. I like Gilad as well, as long as they show his newer stuff :) I am on the fence about Yoga. It seems like it does not do anything for me. I hope everyone is having a great day...tommorro is a big day for me...I will be 40 years old and I am starting the day out with a workout!!! emoticon

Hello everybody.

We got to the race track on Thursday evening. I helped my husband unload the trailer and set everything up. Today is Saturday. I am proud to say I have only got on the scooter ONE time!! the old me used to get on the scooter to go to the in gate to watch the race, got visit people ect. Even though we have a bathroom in our trailer I am making myself walk to the one that is located in the main tower. I have walked everywhere, and even though it is very hot, I am being healthy about it!!!

I just had a *Sparkle* moment :) I was walking to the bathroom and a man who is parked a few spaces down stopped me and said *you sure do a lot of laps* at first I didnt know what he meant, so he said *you do a lot of walking back and forth all day and night* I told him that Im trying to stay healthy and walking is a great way to stay in shape. He smiled and agreed and I went on my way.

Seven years ago the old me would of sat in the trailer in the cold A/C watching movies and eating donuts, candy bars ect ect. I am and will always be a sugar freak. I have not been tracking my food since we got here, but since we planned all our meals,. there are no hidden chocolate muffins or candy bars in the trailer. We did buy one box of pop tarts and I have had two pop tarts since Thursday. I do not feel bad about this because I really have been doing a lot of walking. My healthy snacks are yogurt, granola bars, cheese and bananas. I like to be able to come here and share my news no matter what kind of good or bad things I might have done. I hope you all are having a strong and fantastic weekend!!

We are off to the racetrack this weekend up in Virginia. My husband also likes to eat healthy foods and is diabetic so its easier not to have junk around our house :) we planned all our meals for the trip (we have a toy hauler that has a kitchen/microwave/fridge ect) so we wont have to buy the greasy, high calorie food they sell at the race track.

I will be helping him as his pit crew with his bike. I always get a good workout at the track and I am going to try and do a lot of walking instead of riding my scooter everywhere. I hope everyone has a strong weekend!!!

It sounds like you have your hands full. That is very nice of you to take care of your relative in their time of need. You have always put others first and that says a lot about you. So you FINALLY got FitTv!!! I remember two years ago you were kicking around the idea of getting it!! I am going to also start taping FitTV again to mix up my TJ workouts. They have a great variety of workouts and really mixes things up. I did not workout yesterday or today as my body is a bit sore and I dont want to push things or injure myself. I also have a long weekend at the racetrack helping my husband with his race bike and all of that starts tomorrow. I will be getting lots of walking and lifting small amount of weight in :) I will really try to get my water in as this is my biggest downfall.

Welcome Back Darcie! I love you picture and you have done well with your weight loss. Glad to have you back to spread your motivation.

I am currently helping to care for an elderly relative who recently had surgery and I am not able to get in the work out that I would prefer. I brought my TJ 20 min DVD, but haven't had time to do it yet. I do walk and drink my water, but I need to do TJ to jump start my metabolism.

I can't wait to get back home to start my cycle with FitTV.

Thanks Breeze! you look good too!! Its good to be back, I cant do this by myself and I need to be accountable! This morning I did Crunch Salsa Dance Party. I am REALLY glad I kept my DVD workout discs. Last year I almost sold them all and I am glad I didnt. I really like anything with good music and dancing. I have not heard of the tapes you speak of, are they something new? I have not bought anything in three years. I have all the Turbo Jams, Lots of dance style discs and my favorite back breaker, Kathe Friedrich. My arms and thighs are sore today from yesterday. I hope you all have a great day!

I started a new profile as the old one is just not *me* anymore. I got down to my goal weight but in the last two years I have added 14 lbs. it is MY fault. I have been sitting around and have not worked out in two years. Soooo I have a new profile, mo more trophies and points LOL but I am going to start working out again and get back on track. I dusted off all my Turbo Jam Dvds and did Cardio Party and forgot how much fun they are. I got burned out on them when I was doing them every single day and I am going to work other things in my workouts as to not get so burned and bored :) It is nice to see you Breeze!!!

Today I had a comment made to me about my weight from a relative that was a little disheartening. I know I am at that stage that the healthy steps I am taking is not being noticed by anyone other than myself. So, I had to shake off the negative comment and love myself back to mentally healthy place in order to continue to move forward. I walked today for 30 minutes, and now I am getting ready to finish off the night with some crunches.

Typically, a negative comment would have sent me on a chocolate, cookie or doughnut binge, but today I am going to love me back to health!

This morning I prepared my mind for a healthy day. I did 5 minutes of stretches. I will incorporate fruits and vegetables in my meals. I will workout at least 10 minutes and I will drink my water.
