ouch and oh my did you increase miles fast! I'm at the 8th week of the C25K program (second time thru) and I'm just doing about 3 miles. You might want to look into a training program like the C25K. It brings you along slowly to reduce the risk of injury.

Also make sure you have a rest day in between your runs.

Don't give up! You my have simply increased your miles too quickly. I would suggest resting it for just a couple of days, and then testing it out on a lower milage run. Also, be sure you are wearing the right shoes. Taking a couple of days off well not significantly impact your progress to date. When I first started running, I felt the need to run EVERDAY so I didn't lose what I gained, but I learned that rest days are just as important :)

Hi Everyone! I joined spark back in January and started adding running to my program in March and am loving it! My last couple of runs have been close to six miles and now my right knee is starting to bother me, it's even a tiny bit swollen. It's been two days since my last run and the knee feels a little looser (in a good way) any suggestions as to what I should do or how much longer I should wait til my next run. I don't want to give it up. :(
