The Stick is a great tool. Especially if you travel...easy to carry along. You might also want to look at Triggerpoint products. I have them all...great products for massage and working on all types of muscles.

Stretching is definitely a good thing. When I increased my distance yoga really helped me.
Have you seen the foam roller demos here on spark? http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitn ess_articles.asp?id=1401 Seems like it would release the muscles similarly to the stick. I've heard great things about the roller.
Has anyone ever used one of these, and if so what is your opinion on the product?
I really, really, really, want to get into running 5k and eventually 10k races; I went Tuesday afternoon and ran / walk 3 miles, and my calves today feel like they are in knots! I have tried massaging them, and I feel some relief for a while, but it doesn’t last for very long!
I know that I need to stretch, I have bought a stretch-out strap, and need to start using it along with the AM/PM Stretch DVD that I purchased. I just feel that I need something to (as a guy in the office said this morning “knead”) the acid out of my muscles!
Let me know your opinion if you have tried it, and if you have any other ideas, I would appreciate them too!
