Hi Seesters. Happy Birthday PJ. It is fun to celebrate in different places. I'm so glad you all are having a good time but not at all surprised.

LG, what a fun thing to get some seeds and visit. The cornstalks will help your Halloween events at the Historical society. I hope the hand doctor can help you. It is hard to hurt all the time.

Tammy, I hope your brother improves. It might be part of his brain injury but only time will tell. For sure you do check for infection when there is a change in mental status. Hope you found something fun when shopping.

Class was fun today and I passed. It is hard sometimes as they change the rules about medications and procedures every time just a little. I learn some new things and listening to the others in the class is always so interesting.

Have a fun day all. I'm off to get some rest. Working again tomorrow. Got a bit to do before then.

Hi, Seesters!

Another nice day in Branson today...

DD called and told me different questions to ask about this latest concerning DB...it makes me feel better that I know some "smart" things to ask...

Most of our group that is here is having a potluck this evening. That will be fun. I went to water aerobics with Marianne this morning, and to lunch with another lady and her husband. It was fun.

Have a good afternoon/evening!

It's a beautiful day. I got out and worked in my gardens.

I'll have Kami later this evening. I hope she'll want to stop at Steins and pick out a pumpkin to take home.

Another busy day planned. Did laundry this morning have an afternoon show and out to dinner after that. A very nice way to spend my birthday. Tomorrow is our last day here in Branson then on west to the Four Corner area.

WG I hope the interview goes well. Those are so nerve wracking.

LG It is nice that you can trade with your friend baked goods for corn stalks and seeds. Everybody wins. Hopefully the doctor can help you with your hand/wrist.

Tammy thoughts and prayers for your brother and your family. Take care of yourself in the process.

Yup, we're all having a great time in Branson. Life time friendships are being made. We're such a large group we seem to be breaking up into smaller groups to do things but no one is complaining as we all want to do different activities so it works out. This morning our rain continues but they promise us there is an end coming! Norm went to the first hour of wood carving and then we are going to see the movie Blended. Perhaps by the time the movie is over the rain will have moved on. Looking forward to another pot luck this evening.

Tammy - so sorry about your DB. Perhaps it's a UTI and just a med adjustment. We'll keep praying for his recovery.

LG - I hope you are happy with what the specialist recommends for your wrist. It's not good to be in pain all the time. I'll remember your apt because Oct 7th is my birthday!

SEK - poor Joshua! I'm sure he would have rather been off work and went out to dinner with you even if the restaurant wasn't quite what you expected. He truly is learning the sacrifices we have to make when working.

WG- your house is always just bursting with activity. I am so glad everyone feels welcome to come home often. I wish your DS the best with his internship and his quest for a good job. At least he is working to be prepared so that puts him a step further than most.

It seems the Branson folks are having a good time, and I am glad of that! It is raining gently this morning; we had quite the flooding situation yesterday just north in the Springfield area and also Christian county where I live.

There is a craft fair - Autumn Daze - in "old" Branson today, Friday, and Saturday. I might just have to force myself to go! Lol! We may also try to get as many of the group that can together for a potluck tonight if I can reserve that area in the park again.

DB has not been sleeping the past few nights and was also convinced his roommate was trying to kill him, so he will be getting an increase in Seroquel. They are testing him for a UTI, but as I told PJ yesterday afternoon while walking, it seems as if my hope that he might be able to go home one day was overly optimistic. Time will tell.

Have a very good day, Seesters!

SEK, don't send your rain this direction!! We don't need it and I'd like to get some work done in the garden yet this week. Seems like when I'm able to get out there it is raining or just has rained or it is too cold! Don't blame you for taking the money! And yes, most kids these days are lazy. I tell my grand kids all the time to "move"!

Sharon, I read the book but haven't seen the movie. I've read several of the books about heaven. All good reading.

WG, always hated the interviews too. Good luck to him!!

Brooke has a VB game tonight and Carmen has one too. They are in different towns! We are going to Brooke's but everyone else will go to Carmen's. They don't play until 7 so at least we can eat at home.

Thomas and I went to a friend's house yesterday and we cut corn stalks to use for decorations at the museum. Got so many that we have some for our house too. I took them a blackberry pie. Their favorite!! She loves flowers and she gave me some seeds for next year. Love that!!

Well, I finally made an appointment for see a hand specialist/surgeon about my left wrist/hand. I am going to Louisville to the hand center there. Not sure what he'll say or do but I know that the pain and swelling has gotten worse. So we'll see what he has to say about it. The appointment is for Oct. 7th. I was surprised that I got in as quickly as I did. I actually could have gone in Sept but the day she had open I also have a Dr. appointment with my regular doc!!

Need to scoot....have a great day!!

We have rain this morning but we needed it, nothing serious it's a nice one.

Yep, I took the money, I'm not crazy, it just blows my mind. When I was in band there was not thought of getting a ride we just walked to the stadium (same high school and all) did our thing and walked back without complaint. Times how they change!

Joshua was supposed to be off yesterday so I planned a dinner out at a new place here we hadn't been to, and when I got home he was on his way to work. Kind of feel sorry for him. Restaurant wasn't bad but not at all what I thought it would be. It is advertised as a "family diner" I thought wow like an old time cafť. Wrong, it serves sandwiches and a daily special, it was lasagna. It was OK, but I don't know if I want to go again anytime soon.

WG I'm so glad I don't have to go through interviews anymore. I always hated them. Tell him good luck.

Branson ladies keep on having fun and think of poor me at home working. emoticon

Hi. Worked today and came home to the 3 youngest here helping one get ready for interviews. He has an internship in a few months as part of his degree and the internship often leads to a job so he wants to find a good position. The girls have been interviewed and interview so they helped him craft his answers to questions and coached him about how to answer.

This means the 3 youngest were there visiting and I got to play with them a little. It was fun and I enjoyed it. Now to settle down and get off to bed soon.

Have a class for work tomorrow and need to look over the material. I've taken the same class a few times as I have to take it every other year. Hopefully I'll do OK. It is always a bit of a challenge.

Tammy and PJ, glad you found the bags. I'm interested in seeing the jeans apron. Sounds interesting. SS, I've seen parts of the movie. It is sweet.

Judy, I agree the kids are lazy but they seem to be these days. No one walks at all. The ones here go across the street to the Jr High and practice on their field but it is hard to carry those "heavy instruments" back across the street even though they have carried them for a couple of hours practicing.

LG, glad you got a good rest last night.

I'm going to bed now. Have a great sleep all.

I went up to the cinema to see Heaven is for Real this afternoon and right in the middle of the movie the lights went out. A storm was moving through and it was raining so hard! We decided to wait until it let up and by then the guy got the receiver rebooted and was able to fast forward the movie to where we left off so we got to see the whole movie. By the time we got out of the movie the rain had stopped!

Not sure what the rest of the day holds but it will be fun!

Just got back from downtown Branson. No yarn but I did buy a small leather purse that is big enough for my cell phone and some fudge. Came back because of how nasty the weather and sky was looking. Still need to get to the Tanger Outlet stores before leaving. We are attending the Baldknobbers tonight at 8pm and will be going out for Mexican before the show

I was just exhausted this morning so did not walk. 3 days of lots of steps my back and legs were rebelling. A days rest should put me good as new.

Weezie Tammy and I did buy a bitty bag pattern/kit yesterday. So I have something else to do or should I say in my pile of things to do. I saw some old jeans made into aprons today and we took a picture of that for future reference. More future projects

Judy just take the schools money for working and now we know how much is wasted by them.

Well the rain and storm weather has started so will be back later or tomorrow.

You'd better be careful Tammy...those bitty bags are addicting...lol

I had beautiful day here yesterday. The temps were perfect for working in the yard. If the temp hold I might just get a few more projects finished outside this year.

I'm hoping to get back out before i get my haircut this afternoon.

Have a Great Wednesday!

I am feeling so much better this morning! Got a good night's sleep. After Sunday and Monday night with little to no sleep, it was wonderful to just go to sleep and not wake up all the time!!

You ladies in Branson are truly enjoying yourselves! So glad for you all!! And Sharon, we love Red Lobster and we don't go there very often either. Glad that you enjoyed it.

WG, you are busy. But I know what you mean about the grands! We will have ours for several days in a couple of weeks while they are off for Fall break. Not sure what we'll do yet.

Weezie, you have really got a lot on your plate too! Hope you can get to your knitting group.

We are going to St. Vincent de Paul this morning and then down to a friend's farm to get corn shucks to decorate at the museum. Hoping I can get enough to do some around our house.

Tammy, that bitty bag jumping into your hands has happened to me a lot!!!

Need to scoot....

WG between work and grands you are one busy lady.

Glad Branson is still fun for y'all.

I have a really stupid, yes stupid, trip this morning. I have to go to the football stadium around 9, pick up the band and take them back to school. Are you ready? School is FOUR, that's right FOUR blocks from the stadium. Guess they will just be too tired to walk back to school after practice. I know it's money but really?! I think that a waste of money.

June sounds fun I'll put it on the calendar and see what happens.

Got to go have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hi Seesters. Have about 10 minutes between grands. Had some early this morning so dad could go swimming. DS#3 came by mid morning to get some work done as his internet is down. He was working from home. I had his children for a couple of hours. DS#1 who was here all day left his kids so they could go to a conference with the teacher. His oldest is having the same problems he had in school.

Now DS#2s kids are coming over so Mom can get things done. It's fine. I'm working the next 3 days so I won't see any of them. I'll only be missing two of the little ones this week which isn't that bad.

Nothing big so I did laundry today and cleaned a little. Lots of grandma time but no lawn care. I could have insisted but it seems like the little ones are little for such a short time.

SS, Tammy, PJ, it sounds like you are having a lot of fun. I hope you found yarn PJ. Tammy, looks like you found a fun quilt store. SS, dinner at Red Lobster is one of my favorites. I love the biscuits as well. Not cool on the diet but a lot of fun.

Weezie, glad the conference is done. Hope you got something fun from it. I hope knitting group is fun tonight. There is always something to do and I'm glad you have a lot of interests.

Got to get running. Have to keep an eye on the kiddos. They are cute but always need supervision.

Have a great day all.

Good Evening!

I made good on my grocery shopping today. Then I went to the Craft Mall with PJ, Marianne,Tammy, and Arlene. That was fun. This afternoon I spent a couple hours by myself in the MH. For dinner Norm and I went with Marianne & Pete to Red Lobster. I know it's a chain restaurant and there are so many others here in Branson but Red Lobster is both of our favorites. Our bill is always close to $70 (and tonight was no exception) so we don't go very often.

We have a few minutes home before we take off for the evening campfire.

Evening ladies!!

Well my travels for work are done now and now I can gear up to return tomorrow to 'reality' and what is waiting. I also now have 3 different meetings I MUST attend next week. I see OT in my future. emoticon

PJ, glad you are having such a great time in Branson and congrats on the steps. Hope you found yarn too! LOL

I need to get my butt in gear so I'm ready for tomorrow so this is brief. Just wanted to pop in and say hello to you all. I'll try to stop back tomorrow but I'm going to go see the DIL and boys after work and then have my knitting group I really would like to attend. So we shall see.

Just got back from a walk and an hour water aerobic class. Both were fun I had never done a water class before so I really enjoyed that. As a matter of fact I havenít been in any kind of water (except a bath or shower) in years. And yes I christened my new swimsuit.

Tammy and I are going to go for a walk to a craft mall this afternoon that is probably a mile away. And I already have over 8000 steps . It feels so good to be walking again. Thanks to this rally in Branson now I should be able to keep the habit up again.

The walking and exercise has really helped me sleeping better at night.

Judy you need to plan and maybe you can join in the really next year.

LG I hope I can find some yarn I like today so I can give them some money. LOL

Morning, Ladies!!

You ladies in Branson are having a really great time. SS, Marianne said that she got over 15,000 steps yesterday and PJ, I understand the screaming legs!! And Judy, yes you should have taken the week off and stayed!! Would love to see you all in Shipshe next year. The dates are June 29th, 30th, July 1st. We are staying at the Van Buren Hotel. We made our reservations when we were there this year. Here is the phone # for any one who wants to be there....260-768-7780.

PJ, you went to a yarn shop and didn't buy anything???? WOW!! You are good!!

Weezie, I too am getting so anxious for our retreat. We have the best time and it is so relaxing for us both. I am really enjoying the English Paper Piecing. Can't wait for you to see it. Think positive about the student count....maybe it won't be so bad!! emoticon

TB, I've never done a "quilt as you go" but I'd like to try it some time. One of these days I'll get all my projects done!! emoticon emoticon NOT!!

Weezie2, it's so nice that you can help your DD with her projects.

WG, you are right about grandparents helping out. Our grandkids will be on Fall break here soon and we will be keeping them for about 3 days. Luke has already told Thomas that he wants to go fishing but no girls are allowed!! Brooke doesn't want to go (hates worms and fish!) but Carmen really wants to go. Not sure how that will play out! I admire all that you do for your family. And you are right about the kids remembering that the parents were there for them. Ours still talk about how we went to all of their events. Their grandparents not at all. Sad. But in fairness, my mom couldn't go on her own (my dad had already passed away) and Thomas' parents were still working.

Brooke had a VB game last night and they won!! Glory Be!! Those girls were so happy! And they won in 2 games and really beat them good. Tonight Carmen has a game. emoticon

It is cold, rainy and just plain miserable here so far today. I'm cold and really need a hot shower. So I'll see y'all later.

Kelly's new scrubs are finished except to put pockets on them. She had to scoot and wanted to wear them tonight so I'll be finishing them tomorrow. It won't take long. If these work I'll be making another pair for her.

It was the master bedroom that we painted. It's all finished with all the furniture back in it. We'll start the nursery next week when she's off again. It will be so much easier to paint while it's still empty. Then all the fun of decorating will start. emoticon

Another fun day in Branson. I got well over 10,000 steps today which doesn't happen for me very often. We spent time walking, line dancing, dancing, visiting and out to dinner (most of the group went)

Tomorrow will be here before I know it so I'm headed off to bed.

Weeze: Celtic Sky (the double Irish chain) is hand quilted. There were times I thought I'd never finish! The reversible is 'quilt-as-you-go' machine quilted. The whole concept of everything being backwards but still having to match was a challenge. In spite of learning curve errors I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I sure don't miss those early morning alarms! Enjoy your function tomorrow.

Evening all!

Just wanted to pop in before heading to bed. Gotta get up at 4 a.m. so we can meet in time to be at our function by that starts at 8 a.m. tomorrow rather than 8:30 a.m. like today. Oh well, done tomorrow and good for another year. Just nice not being at work and the bonus - boss will be gone when I get back Wednesday as she is going (for the first time since she's been there) to a conference in FL. Taking her husband and all. She really is going to do all she can to stay out of the office herself since she is so miserable. Works for me!

TB, I saw your quilts today and they are beautiful. You do very nice work. Are these machine quilted or hand quilted?

Judy, Tammy, PJ, SS, I'm tickled you all got to meet along with so many other Spark friends. It is fun indeed and do hope you might try to make it to Shipsee next year Judy (any others who might be interested). I don't even know if we picked a date. Did we LG?

WG, do hope the offer comes through and you can get your mom's place sold and the estate taken care of. What a hassle for sure. Keeping everyone happy is NEVER easy.

Weezie - hope you got the baby's room painted and Kelly is getting excited. Have they talked about names?

LG, will talk to you in the a.m. and I'm getting excited about our retreat in November. Something to look forward to to get through this year's first pupil count which isn't gonna be fun with the new gals in the buildings, the new student information system that isn't fully functional and the new stuff being handed down by the State. I'm tired thinking about it so I'm trying NOT to think about it. I just have 'retreat' on my mind and a little R&R and fun!

I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you all. Do hope you had a great Monday and hope Tuesday is a good one as well. I guess any day we wake, rise, and are breathing is a good day for sure.

Talk to you all later!!

I'm flying by to say emoticon

WG: Yes, I got the quilts finished and was feeling very pleased with myself ... ready and 3 days to spare emoticon Not so much ... it turns out that, because of the size of my quilts (and this makes perfect sense; I just hadn't thought of it) I have to make sleeves - that's done - and stitch said sleeves (not use basting pins) top and bottom so they can be hung. I got the sleeves made and sewn to one of the two big quilts. Tomorrow should take care of the second (fingers crossed).

I think it's a classic case of Murphy's law - things always take longer than you think. I'm just glad I pushed to finish early; otherwise I would be doing all-nighters.

There is a new feature to the quilt show. This year there is going to be a vote for 'viewer's choice' in each of the categories. I think that's a very savvy thing for the club to do - gives people a feeling of involvement and brings out friends and family members. (You have to come vote for my quilt).

I'll post a picture blog after the show. As Lily indicated, I sent pics to those folks I can contact privately.

I promised to come help set up the show on Friday - it runs for Saturday and Sunday - so the clock is ticking.

And my poor, poor pony is being so neglected these last couple weeks emoticon Of course, as long as he has lots of food and gets to hang out with his buddies he doesn't object too much.

Talk to you all after the show, if not before.

Hi Seesters. It is good to hear of your adventures. I'm so glad that you all have the opportunity to spend time together. It sounds like such great fun.

TB, glad you got the quilts done? Looking forward to pictures. It is such an honor to be asked to participate.

Weezie, it's so sad about that girl at work. It is hard for a child who wants to be part of the group. I didn't enjoy every soccer game I've ever gone to but I learned to like them as they were important to my son. I learned the rules, I sat in the hot field with my umbrella and camp chair and lost every Saturday I was off to the field. It was hard for me and it was often not fun at all. But he has memories of me going and being there and we talked about how well he played and how much fun he had. It sounds like she learned how to deal with this from her parents. I'm glad that there are those out there who will mentor children like this and be the father/parent they need. All children deserve to be loved unconditionally. That is what grandparents are for.

Judy, hoping you get the phone pictures working. It is silly how technology can stymie us from time to time.

I have Fabio today and we went to Mom's to show the house. The guy is sending an offer. I think we might take it. The other buyers keep coming up with conditions and guarantees we are supposed to offer. We were pretty clear that since none of us have lived there in over 35 years we cannot meet those conditions. It is necessary to complete this sale as soon as we can so we can finish her estate and keep people happy.

Got to run. Someone is starting to stir. Two naps while traveling will do that.

Tammy tell Joe we do know each other!

It was a good time and we will get together again. Keep me posted about walks in your area.

LG I was going to come to Shipshe this year but it was Joshua's 16th birthday and I felt that was some what more important than hanging out with the gals, not much you understand, just a little! LOL!!

I need to get busy. I've spent most of the morning trying to figure out how to get my pictures of yesterday from my phone to Facebook and it keeps telling me can't connect. I just love technology!

Morning, ladies!!

WOW!! That Spark "get-together" sounds like lots of fun! Judy, glad that you were able to make it. I know that I love when we get together in Shipshe. We have so much fun. I'm looking forward to Weezie coming here in November. I just wish we lived closer!!

I did finally get some sleep last night but woke up at 3 and didn't go back to sleep! UGH!! So finally just got up and exercised.

WG, that is really neat about the gal who made scrub tops for everyone. My DIL works for an eye surgeon and they were all wearing khaki pants and a polo top with the logo on it. And he paid for them. But then he quit that so now the girls all wear scrubs except for the office staff.

Weezie2, glad that you enjoy painting. I hate it. I'm not good at it either. I'm very slow!! So I always hire some one to do my painting. Glad you got to visit with your DD. How is she feeling? Do they know the sex of the baby yet? Sorry about the craft show. Some are so good and others you might just as well not have gone!

PJ, glad you are enjoying Branson and all the gals!!

Weezie, glad that you got to Ava's soccer and sorry that she wasn't feeling well afterward. It's too bad when parents and grandparents don't support their kids in the things they want to do. At least Ava has you and Gary. And it's sad when her mom has to work so much just to make it. Jason is Luke's coach and he has one boy on there that never has come with the team shirt. When Jason asked where it was the father said he didn't know. Then later told Jason in private that the mother probably won't let the kid have it as she can't be there for the games and doesn't want him to play. So Jason lets him play with a similar colored shirt.

TB, love the quilts!! They are very pretty and I'm sure that you'll win some prizes!! Fingers crossed!!

Now I need to scoot.....

I slept in this morning until a group of our men decided to drink coffee and chat right outside our bedroom window! Oh well, I'm just happy the men are so comfortable with each other that they don't need the ladies to enjoy each other's compnay!

This morning a few of us are going line dancing and then we're going in and actually exploring Branson. Poor Tammy isn't here today as she had to drive home to teach. We miss her but she did warn us that she would need to leave a couple days.

Judy, that is so nice that you and DH came over. I am so very sorry that I needed to leave to meet with DD for her statistics class. I only worked with her about 45 minutes. I was then doing some prep work that needed to be done. Let's do manage to get together! I so enjoyed visiting with you the thirty minutes that I was there. How did your DH feel about the whole thing? Joe [my DH] told me after Saturday - "It's like you all know each other!" emoticon He is enjoying visiting with the others, and he is hoping we can visit in Vegas, or wherever, next year...

Have a good day, everyone!

Evening Seesters. Home for a couple of days. It is always nice to be off. Nice day, nice patients, not a hectic pace. It will be miserable tomorrow with a doubling of the census. I'm not interested in coming in and am glad I'm not available.

Girls, it sounds like a fun time. Las Vegas would give me a chance to show up as my brother lives there. Hate driving in that town. It's easier with GPS, though. Hope pot luck was a little healthy.

Weezie2, sorry the craft fair wasn't what you wanted. I'm glad you have the bigger shows coming up. Making tops for your DD? I have a friend who designs her own scrub tops. Now that we all have to wear navy scrubs it takes the fun out of them. One year she made a top for every nurse for her birthday.

The dog says I don't love her any more so I'll be playing with her in a minute. Showing the house again tomorrow. Brother seems willing to give ground to get the house sold. I'm glad. I want to be done.

Hello!! Yes it's me.....I'm still alive! Yesterday was both a great day and not so great! Luke's team won at soccer but Carmen's team got beat in their first game. Brooke's team won their first game but got beat in the final. Lots of tears! Carmen's team got beat in their final game also. Now it is back to regular games and we have 3 this week!! It's a good thing we are retired! I was so tired last night that I didn't sleep well and we got up early this morning to get to early Mass. Did get a nap this afternoon and I'm ready for bed now!!

I'll be back tomorrow to comment on all the posts!

OMG! Judy (SEK) is such a hoot. Her and her DH arrived here around 1PM and stayed until around 4PM. We tried to get her to stay for our potluck but it would have been too late for their arrival back home. We had such a nice visit and PJ, Tammy, and I am so happy they made the effort to come and visit.

I wish them safe travels home. Now we are off and running again for our evening pot luck. I'm afraid even though we are all Sparkers, the food will not be diet friendly, just good!

Going to have a fun day, I'll be heading up to Kelly's to watch the Packer game and make her some new scrubs for work. I think I'll get the trial top made before I go. She heads back to work tomorrow and she's been needing new scrubs.

Have a great Sunday!

Morning!

We are all surprised with all the amenities offered by Treasure Lake RV Resort and are so thankful that Tammy & DH are sponsoring us to be their guests this week. Tammy and I enjoyed line dancing lessons yesterday. We did OK for beginners! We ate dinner last night at the little cafe here in the park. Today several have decided to take in the cinema where they are showing Blended this afternoon and Saving Mr. Banks later.

The girls from this team are excited to have SEK coming to visit today as well. It's such a fun time. We really have a large group this year. We are already thinking where to go next year and Las Vegas has been mentioned!

WG that sounds like a great way to start a shift. I don't miss that sort of thing.

Sorry about the craft thing, that is why I don't do those. I've tried a couple with my products and they always seem to be the ones that nobody shows up at. Too much work for too little profit.

We should be leaving here in a few minutes. Can't wait.

I guess they are driving my boss nuts wanting me to come back to Iowa, but I really don't want anymore of that mess. The pay is good but not that good. Randy (boss) is leaving up to me.

Take care and have a stupendous Sunday!

Had a wonderful first day in Branson with dinner and show. Will start today with a walk with some of the other spark ladies and a potluck this evening. We all arrived safely yesterday at different times so I am anxious to meet and visit with those I havenít met yet.

We have never been disappointed by any of the shows in Branson and last night was no exception. Of course one of our own was part of the entertainment Ė Norm played an instrument on stage (a noise maker horn) but he did a great job.

Judy you will probably have to tell them at the gate that you are visiting Tammy and Joe to get in. If you have any problems give one of us a call.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

The craft fair was pretty much as I expected. Not much of a crowd at all so I don't think the advertising was as good as it could have been. I have sold 3 of the midi bags already but only smaller ticketed items sold at this one. I have a month to get our inventory ready for the big holiday push. I have 9 more bags sorted and ready to assemble and projects started last year that won't take long to finish. I want to get more of those mug rugs finished too. I'm real happy how cute they turned out and hope to sell lots emoticon .

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

Hi all.

So glad the bunch of you are together. I'm enjoying the pictures. It is fun to see you all being silly. I'm glad the weather is good for you and you are doing some fun things. I'm sure you will find a fun show tonight. Not sure about the muffler, though. Sounds very down to earth.

Weezie, you are great to have that contact with your granddaughters. The grandsons are going to be easier as the kids aren't as prickly but it will be great for you to spend time with them. The memories are the things the babies take with them. Sounds like you have a lot going on for the rest of the month. Hope you get some "me" time as well.

Weezie2, take care of those knees. That is a lot of up and down. I'm not one to do a lot of stairs any more if I want to walk the next day.

LG, I saw that one team did well. How did the other children do? You are one busy woman.

I walked into a mess this morning. They had a very busy night but there was water running from under a door and a major water mess. Someone had thrown a few towels down and walked away but the water was running out and down the hall. I made some calls and got it stopped but since it is the weekend, it won't be fixed until later. It had been busy enough that some things got missed but it was a good enough day that we caught up and everyone was doing better by the end of the day. Hoping tomorrow is better. At least there won't be water problems.

I'm off to bed. Morning comes very early.

Oh Weezer! Maybe I should come up and drive that way we could see each other! Don't worry about the computer time I'm the same way, I am trying to do better but some days it's a challenge.

OK, we will be on the road about 8 or 9 in the morning. Joshua is not going to be able to make it and he is upset. His boss called and said she needed him to work tomorrow, poor kid, he was looking forward to seeing PJ and meeting the rest of y'all. I'll bring the camera.

This crazy dog of mine is dancing on her hind legs trying to get my attention because I've been at the desk too long. We've been finishing up some school work. Must be time to go.

Take care see some of you tomorrow.

Hey sistas!!

Just read through the thread and I'm tickled you RV'ers are meeting in Branson. What fun for sure and happy you are able to do so. Judy I think it is great you too are gonna try to make a visit. It is pretty amazing how Spark has broadened our horizons and the friendships made. Do hope to hear more for sure.

Weezie, I feel your pain but how nice you're helping Kelly with the bedroom prep. Do hope to hear how the craft show goes as well. I am assuming some of your bags were a part of the many things you've been working on.

LG, you and Thomas Jay are great grandparents attending all the kids' functions. The little gal I work with a young gal (26) who has an 11 year old son. I know, a bit young but regardless she is trying to be a good parent though she had to move in with her mom as she can't afford to live on her own. She was a bit hurt/upset as her son is playing soccer and she wouldn't attend. Her folks are older (60's) and her dad is around and her grandma but none support the little guy by attending. Felt bad for her.

WG, sounds like lots of great memories for the grands for sure. You are fortunate for sure. I saw my younger son yesterday and we had a bit of conversation. Long story but he knows that his wife is the one hurting the girls and he's a doormat. He says, but I've hear it before, that they may finally split. I'll believe it when I see it. He's too afraid to go it alone. Not sure why he is but it seems he is. He's one unhappy young man. Makes me sad. So enjoy your kids and enjoy those little ones. They'll be grown in a blink!

Tammy, PJ, SS, do enjoy the time together and other Spark friends in Branson .DO share if you go to the show and your thoughts. We can live vicariously through you all! LOL

Ava had soccer this a.m. It was chilly and I know her mom so I came prepared so she wouldn't freeze. She's spending the afternoon/evening with us as mom works till 9. We won't see her again till next Friday. She is loving the Montessori school and happy with no having babies around like at the daycare she was at. I know this year will offer up some expense for her mom but this is a good way to prepare her for regular kindergarten next year. It is fun to see her grow.

I've spent time with the boys and they are getting big way too fast. Kason is getting to where we expected and not taking any crap from big bro and big bro doesn't like him in his stuff. Oh the fun they will have. LOL

Fall weather is upon us here in Michigan. Some have mentioned their burning bushes already changed and dropping all their leaves. Ours have not but I'm hoping that is more of a sign of an unhealthy bush than of what the winter may bring. Word is we are to get more snow than last year. I'm happy the generator is in and ready to keep us warm should the need arise.

Monday and Tuesday I go to Lansing with a co-worker for a conference. I should be about done with my certification or hope. The timing is poor but it is what it is. Count day is the 1st and with our new computer system not fully ready to go or the necessary reports out there, I'm trying to remain calm and pray it all comes together. Have no idea what we'll do if not but I also believe we're not alone.

Judy, I still believe you are a saint driving bus. I can't imagine trying to concentrate and screaming kids. Like you said, fortunately a short trip. We are so very desperate for drivers up here it is crazy. I think all the schools are so we'll see what happens. My boss has taken on that hat as well (transportation director) and she's had complaints about none other than the new Supt's kid. This should be interesting to see how she handles this one. Don't envy her.

Now I need to scoot ladies. Been working on laundry after our nap today, and gotta figure dinner.

Sorry I've been MIA. I just am not very diligent about my computer time these days. Please forgive me.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

My knees are screaming at me today! i've been helping Kelly paint her bedroom. Going up and down a step ladder for 2 days did me in. I helped set up for the craft fair today and of course it's up a set of stairs. Great exercise for sure but I need to grab a few advil emoticon

I'm hoping there's a good turnout but I'm not real optimistic about this one.

Have a Great Saturday!

OMG! No one ever is disappointed meeting our Spark Friends. They are just exactly as they post! Half our group has arrived as Tammy mentioned. Yesterday we all went to dinner together and had a lot of fun getting acquainted.

We haven't settled in completely as we have to pull off our lot this morning to get our propane tank filled. After that we are not moving for another week!

Today the sun is eventually supposed to shine on us and high in the upper 60's. After the drizzle of yesterday, it sounds great!

When we were in the restaurant yesterday, a guy heard us discussing all the different shows here in Branson and came over and introduced himself. Turns out he is the owner of one of the theaters and I believe he plays a Muffler Guitar made out of an old car muffler. He invited us to come to his show tonight and gave us half off coupons. So we are all considering taking in that show for sure!

This is a fly-by as we are headed to Luke's soccer and from there we are going to Brooke's volleyball game. From there is anyone's guess!! It will all depend on who wins and who loses! If they both win their first games we will again split up.

All of you in Branson, behave and enjoy!! emoticon emoticon

Hi, Seesters!

SS and Norm did indeed arrive safely. 5 of our group of 10 Sparkfriends are here; the others are coming in today.

It was cool and drizzly yesterday afternoon, but we had fun anyway! Today and tomorrow is still supposed to be cool, but not drizzly, so it should be very nice.

Have a very good day!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

We are still traveling down the road to Branson. We should arrive this afternoon. We just went through St Louis and both Norm and I decided we don't like driving in St Louis. Ended up making a wrong turn due to construction that cost us some time.

It is still very dark and overcast but it is not raining (at this minute!)

LG - Yes, Marianne (GLASSART43) will be joining us in Branson. We really enjoyed meeting her and her DH, Pete last year. It will be fun to spend time with them again. I guess SP is a smaller community than I realized and we all are interconnected at some point.

WG - your grandkids will have wonderful memories of their childhood due to all you do. I can only imagine how fun Halloween will be this year for them. It's so nice that you are willing to stay and help out after your shift at the hospital. I wonder how many patients understand the extra time you put in for them.

SEK - Better you than me cause I don't tolerate too much from kids in my old age, lol! Looking forward to meeting you on Sunday!

Oh, Judy, you are my HERO!! I've always said that there is no way I'd drive a school bus or teach without a whip/chair and a weapon!! I know what those kids are like. You are one brave soul!!

Tammy, PJ, Sharon & Judy, enjoy your "SP rally". A gal from one of my other teams will be there too I think. Her name is GLASSART43. Say "HI" from me!!

WG, you are an angel! And I love your blood and worms. I will tell you that a friend of mine made her own "blood" by using red food coloring, powdered sugar and milk. Got it thin and then dared her kids to "drink" it!! It was just an icing like you use on rolls and muffins! Her kids loved it.

We went to Carmen's volleyball game last night. They got beat 2-1 but played well. I'm getting my hair cut today and then I plan to do some sewing. I am loving working on my
paper piecing. Also working on some hand embroidery. Tomorrow will be the big day for sports here. Luke plays soccer and then Carmen plays in a VB tourney across town while Brooke plays in a VB tourney at her school. So we'll be splitting up all day to attend different games. Just hope that I don't meet myself coming and going!! emoticon

WG I used to order from Oriental Trading a lot when I had the day care. You can get so much fun stuff at a great price.

Gals if nothing changes we plan on being in Branson sometime between 12 and 1. It's 3 hours from here and I don't feel the need to leave too early. PJ you can text or give me a call when you get your camp site.

The trip last night was not one of the best, the girls acted like two year olds and would not stop screaming and yelling. I was so glad it was a short distance. I finally got tired of trying to get them to act like mature semi-adults and tried to tune them out. It doesn't help when the people in charge act just as bad as they do. This is why bus drivers can't carry weapons! emoticon

Better sign off. Y'all have a fantastic Friday! TGIF and yes I'm screaming that! LOL!!!

Good evening. Another long day at work. Was ready to go home and ended up taking orders for a new patient as I was clocking out. The nurse was busy. Then a doctor called and I took care of that problem. I then started IVs on the two admissions and did some other things. It was 2 hours later when I left.

Long day.

Tammy, enjoy your break in Branson even if you have to leave and work one day.

SS, enjoy your drive down as well.

PJ, sounds like you are ready to go and will enjoy that extra night

Judy, I'm sure you will enjoy the visit as well.

The rest of us will wait for reports of your adventures.

LG, got the stuff on Oriental Trading. The blood is a one ounce bag of red punch. The brown worms are gummy but they are great night crawlers. It just sounded fun. I think there are better bags of blood but I didn't care a lot. The kids won't either.

Got to head off to bed. It has been a long day.

DH and I are in Branson, and another RV Enthusiasts member and her DH are here as well and we enjoyed a good time visiting at dinner.

I had my PCP visit today and all was great - except my BP. :-(. She told me she wanted me to take it daily for two weeks and call her with the results. I've put some pounds back on as well, so I must start tracking better again.

LG you need to keep meeting with those ladies once a month if you can. Always good to have friends to meet up with. Sorry about your root canal but I would wait too if it isnít bothering you.

Judy check around Iím sure you could find someone to make that cusion.

Weez2 there are some benefits of getting older. Iím like you I love to paint even better in someone elseís house. I canít wait until son is ready for me to paint in his house.

I'm off to help my daughter paint her bedroom today. Refinishing her wooden floors triggered her wanting to repaint her walls too. I like to paint so it will give me a nice needed break from sewing.

I never thought I would be excited about having turned 60 this last birthday. Jo Ann's had an extra 20% off yesterday for us seniors. It was nice finding fabric on sale and getting another discount with it.

Have a great Thursday!

OK, WG, what will you do with blood and worms? Good Lord, where did you find it and what is it really?? Sounds awful to me!! We had hornets trying to nest in the roof of my potting shed but got rid of them and then sealed it. So good luck with getting that done. They are nasty!

PJ, glad that you were able to get together with your knitting group. I think that the ladies that were here yesterday want to continue to get together maybe once a month. It would be fun. As I know your knitting group must be.

Weezie, so good to see you here. Been a while!! emoticon emoticon

Judy, I have a 9' window seat in my dining room. I had a lady make one for me that matched my wall paper. Now it is looking awful while the wall paper still looks great. I just might call her to see if she could do another one for me. Probably lots of $$! Check with some one who sews to see if they could make you one. Be careful on your bus trip today.

Sharon, drive careful and enjoy your trip too. I just know that you ladies will have lots of fun.

Just got back from a dental cleaning and the dentist wants to do a root canal. Not having any problems with it for now so will wait until November to get it done. Hate that!

SEK - I don't know if you can do this but the cushion on my window seat in the bedroom just kept breaking down and was so expensive to replace. So Norm removed the top of the seat itself and covered it with a good piece of carpet using heavy duty carpet staples. Then we could lift off the cover and use the inside for storage (we lined it) and still have a comfortable seat to sit or lay on. Plus the cushion was always out of place as the GK's loved to play on it. The carpet always was perfect!

Well, we are on our way to Branson. Left home around 9AM, drove in to rain and down the rain has settled down to a mist. It will take us two days of travel to get there but at least we are on our way!

Good morning!

Another week almost gone. I won't see much of home today between my route and trip this afternoon, taking girls V-Ball to Chanute which is about 45 minutes from here. They are usually a good group.

Not much else going on. We've started another project, I know that's hard to believe. LOL! I'm having hubby make a window seat in the living room. The room is long and kind of narrow so the furniture placement, no matter what, is always more at one end than the other, so instead of having a bare end at the big window it will be utilized, of course there will be pictures. The hardest part is going to be finding a cushion. From what I can find out they have to be made and I'm not a sewer so I'll see. I'm sure I'll find something.

Y'all have a tremendous Thursday!

I got to my knitting group this morning the first time in a month and now it will be another month. Thatís ok as vacation is a priority. Did get some packing started and now it is starting to rain. But it really doesnít take that long to throw in the clothes and food. I will have tomorrow afternoon and Friday morning before we leave to finish.

Judy will be good to see you again. Mike too. Doesnít matter that you donít have an RV your welcome to come.

WG I love that you are going through things slowly and weeding out as you go. Its amazing how much stuff we accumulate and donít use. I think you are doing the right thing about showing the house. It isn't sold until you have the signed papers and money. I want to come to your house for Halloween it sounds like a fun place to be.

Sharon I believe now that you and Norm are better you need and want to play with the sparkers and leave the neighbors alone for a bit. LOL

Weez glad you are listening to your heart and obeying. I donít envy your and your counting duties. Donít think about it until you have too.

Hi Seesters. Just got back from showing the house again. The "buyers" haven't finished negotiating with us so I'm still showing the place as I don't want to lose any potential sales. Most of these later ones have not been as serious as these kids are.

Had to stop and get some foam sealant. I have hornets living in the crack behind the steps from the garage. I've not used the door much lately but it is a necessary entrance to the house. The kids tried spraying it and weren't impressed. Now it is time to seal the opening and keep them inside or outside. It will be nasty for a while as hornets don't displace well but we'll survive.

My Halloween order of blood and worms arrived. It will be fun this year. Last year was so overwhelming I want to make some fun memories. I also have some magic potion for the older kids (we are talking 5 to 9 years old)

Judy, it is interesting how we feel about RV vs non RV people. I'm glad you are going. It is so much fun when this group gets together. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as you have enjoyed your other encounters. I know you and PJ have gotten together several times.

SS, thanks for the definition. It is interesting how things that are so familiar to us individually are foreign if we aren't in the same place.

Safe travels tomorrow for those leaving then. Safe travels later in the week for those who are leaving then.

I'm going to clean some things and get my house together a little more.

Have a great day all.

Sharon, you are right. It is Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults for the Catholic Church. Some times I think I would benefit from it!! Ours doesn't start until the end of September so just might do that!!

Now, got to clean up and get ready to head out to Columbus for Brooke's volleyball game.

Many years ago, when I was seriously dating a Catholic, I considered joining the church. At that time the classes were called RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) to join the Catholic Church. Is that what you mean, Weezie?

Good morning from work. A quick check in as it is raining, I have a nagging headache and don't want to work. Imagine that! LOL

SS, the rain is here as well. Now to see if the 'severe' weather follows they've been predicting.

I started RCIA class last night. I am finding it most interesting and think it is going to be a good thing for me in many ways. Long story but something has pulled me back into this direction so I'm listening and obeying.

Work is work and should continue to be more interesting as time goes by. I'm dreading count day since our new system doesn't seem to be 'fully' functional. I can't think about it, not yet. ACK!!!

Okay, just wanted to let you all know I'm alive and well and think of you often.

Enjoy your day!

Good Morning!
Well the rain has arrived so I'm glad we got most of our stuff in the MH. More severe weather is supposed to move in later today. I just want it to move through so all of us traveling to Branson will not have to deal with it.

WG - We can't leave our MH by our house permanently but we are allowed to bring it to the house to load and unload. We actually back it up between our house and our neighbors (with their permission) which makes it so much easier. You are also right that we haven't traveled much this summer. We only have been out once in the MH. Part of the reason was Norm recovering from his surgery and all the tests revolving around the nodules in his lungs. And I certainly didn't feel well either but the main reason is we were having so much fun with our new friends in our neighborhood we didn't feel the need to travel.

This is a fly by as I'm getting ready for the ladies to come for the sit 'n sew. I have everything pretty much ready to go but need to run out for a few things.

Felt sorry for Brooke last night. In the first game of her volleyball "set". She didn't play well at all and the coach put her on the bench for the 2nd game and they lost both of them. She was very upset. I think one of her team mates said something to her but she didn't tell me. My heart just aches for her. Hope she has a good game tonight.

See y'all later.

Good afternoon Seesters. Had a fun boy day with the Gunslinger, Fabio and Enterprise. Fabio is still napping but the others have gone home for the day. It is rainy which isn't a surprise with all the water south of here.

Judy, I'm glad you are back. What a miserable trip. Hope it paid very well. It is fun that you can be with the others in Branson. That sounds like great fun.

PJ, sounds like you will be very ready. It is good that you are getting plans in place for your Dad's meds and care while you are gone. It has to be hard leaving him.

SS, hope the MH is ready. I know you hate having it so far away but it is nice to have it available when you want to make a run. You haven't gone nearly as many places as you went last summer, have you? Of course, you did have that little health problem. How is that going?

Tammy, hope your bloodwork turns out good. And breakfast was fun. Good news for DH and DB. It sounds like he will be doing well then and with home health he should be able to be independent for a while.

LG, so glad you love sports. It would be very boring if you didn't. Your grands are wonderful and active. I'm sure this love for activity and sports will carry them into their adulthood. How lucky for you that you can split up and take care of all games at the same time.

I've got to check on Fabio again and then it will be some cleaning so I can be more settled. Getting things put away slowly. It is amazing how many things I "no longer have room" for. I'm feeling better about putting away slowly as I don't need much all the time and have a number of things I don't use often at all. Now to decide if the few times I use them is worth keeping them.

Making a few meals ahead today to have later in the week. DH is installing 2 new trailer roof vent covers and doing some roof caulking.

I also empty a tote in the trailer and put those things in the new chest so a little rearranging going on. Hopefully later today Frank will move the trailer to the house so I can actually do some packing.

Judy we will be at the Treasure Lake Resort most of us are arriving on Saturday and departure varies but most are leaving the 20. How far is Branson from you? Hope to see you too.

LG I have a couple of names and will get with them after this trip. Plan is to have someone start doing dads meds the first of December and continue until we come back in the spring. I want them to do them at least once before we leave and of course dad and I will meet them and they will come and assess his condition etc first also. Those games are really keeping you busy. How long does the season last for volleyball and soccer.

Tammy glad to hear all that good news. Enjoy your breakfast.

Sharon we are hoping Texas gets some of that rain as the lakes we go to are very low. Those fish need more water. LOL

Great thanks! That's in Branson correct?

I did nothing in Iowa when I wasn't working. I didn't have a whole lot of time and by the time I got done with driving I really didn't want to drive any where else. Pretty boring trip.

Morning!
One more decent day before the storms move in. Our plan is to finish packing today!

Tammy - good new on both your DB being able to go home and DH being clot free. That should help some of the stress you've been dealing with, hopefully! Enjoy your breakfast out. That is Norm's favorite meal to eat out.

LG - I think it's great how you attend the GK's games! We went to a few of ours but not as faithful as you. It sounds like they are fun games to watch, especially with the scores so close.

SEK - it would be great if you could stop in this weekend. We'll be at Treasure Lake RV Resort but where in the park we don't know yet.

WG - yes, the flooding in AZ was really bad. We called our friends to make sure they were OK. One said their back yard was completely flooded. The worst flooding in Mesa was only about 3 miles from where we stay on I-60 & Stapley. They closed the highway right down which is perhaps a first. They got about 5 1/2 inches of rain which is about half of their annual amount.

Hello, Seesters!

Blood work this morning - fasting - and then DH and I will enjoy breakfast out. It will be a nice change. My doctor's appointment is on Thursday; I like having the blood work results when I go for the visit with my PCP.

WG, perhaps one day you will come close to my little part of the planet...

Yes, right now the plan is for DB to go to his home. No news on that front from yesterday, but at least there was no bad news.

DH had his CT scan yesterday, and no clots.

Have a good day!

Morning, everyone.....

I agree with WG...it is fun to read about your comings and goings as my grandmother would say! And I think your "get together" in Branson will be tons of fun for all of you. I know both PJ and Sharon and they are lots of fun to be with!! We have never been there either so maybe one of these days we'll just take off.

I am looking forward to the paper piecing. I'm only doing a small project to begin with. It will be like my hand embroidery....can just pick it up when ever.

PJ, glad that you have your dad's med taken care of. Did you ever find some one to do them while you are in Texas? Sounds to me like you are ready to head out. I wish you'd send us some of the hot weather. It has been very cool here lately and I'm really not liking it at all. Did you google the paper piecing?

Weezie2, yard work never ends!

Brooke had a volleyball game last night against another middle school there in Columbus. This team hasn't been beaten. Brooke's team beat them in the first game! Second game they got beat. Third game was so close....15-14! Brooke's team played so well. She has really improved her serving too. Both Brooke and Carmen play tonight. So again we'll be at the games. Tomorrow night they play and Thursday night. emoticon Then on Saturday....Luke plays soccer and both girls have volleyball tourneys!! Since they play at pretty much the same times, we'll all be going in different directions. Brooke's tourney is at another school. Carmen's is at her school. Should be interesting!!

Now I've got to run...have a nail appointment at 9:30!!

Hope everyone had a great evening.

I don't have much time but did want to stop by.

PJ let me know where you all are so we can come by this weekend.

I took Freshman football to their game last night and when I started the bus to come home the wipers came on and would not go off. It was so much fun driving with smeared bugs on the windshield. I kept turning on the washer to keep the squeaking down and that just smeared them more. It was such a fun trip!

Got to run y'all have a terrific Tuesday!

Good evening everyone. It is so fun to hear of your lives. Everyone is doing something different yet we find such commonality as well.

I'm excited to hear of your rendezvous in Branson. It sounds like such fun for everyone. I'm looking forward to reports and pictures. One day I might make it there. My father's people come from that part of the world. Some live there still but it has been so long since anyone was there I'm not sure who would be there to contact. But I enjoy the genealogy and connection.

LG, I'm sure paper piecing is fun but I'm sure I don't love it enough to spend years piecing a king size quilt. I'm not patient enough. That's a lot of eating out. Sometimes are like that.

Judy, you have taught by speech and example the work ethic. Your son has learned well from you. I'm sure he is desired as he works hard and can get things done. He can set limits when he is ready to take a little break. Sounds like you need to quit helping out so much.

SS, hope the MH got loaded. It is interesting trying to get out between storms. But if it storming all day, does it really matter all that much? Did you read about the flooding in AZ?

PJ, sorry the cobbler didn't turn out as good as you had hoped. New needles are always wonderful. Hope the roof got sealed well today. Sounds like you have everything ready as well.

You all will have such fun.

I'm off to feed the dog and go to bed. 'Nite all.

Got dadís meds lined up for the time we will be gone and did a few more errands. Even found a bargain swimsuit ($90 one for $12.99 at JC Penneys) since the new one I had in my dresser was too small and I had never worn it either. The piles are getting higher in the house of things to take as soon as we can load them up. Iím getting more excited each day and canít wait to meet up with old and new spark friends.

Picked up some new knitting needles (like my quilter friends canít have enough knitting items) but I did not buy any yarn. Will take one project with me on the trip just in case I want and have time to knit. Now which project to take. Hmmmm

TB my eyes get that way after knitting for hours especially if I am using small needles and concentrating on a new pattern.

WG we didnít like the cobbler. If I try it again I will just use regular corn bread batter and pour on top. The tomatoes were cut in half with sliced onions and some garlic, salt and pepper and topped with the corn bread stuff and baked. The topping was just way to dry.

Judy what did you do in Ames when you werenít working? Sounds like Joshua is working hard and that they like what he is doing.. Yep he is in the working world now love/hate but the $$$ is always nice. Is he saving some I hope and does he have anything special he wants to buy himself too.

Sharon Frank wants to get the roof of the trailer treated today then we will move it to the house and start packing. Our weather is hot and humid today and rain to move in tomorrow and Wednesday.

LG this paper piecing sounds intriguing. I am going to have to google and see what it is?

Weez2 sounds like it is easy to entertain the Grand daughter and your mom. LOL

It's going to be a beautiful day to get some yard work done. After an hour or 2 outside I'll be ready to get more sewing done before I watch Kami this afternoon. I'm hoping she'll want to see her Great G'ma. She knows how to brighten mom's day. I'll bring another shopping bag and let the 2 of them fill it with pinecones and acorns. They get so silly when they do that.

Have a great Monday!

Good morning.....

I'm on the run here this morning. I've got to get the house cleaned. On Wednesday, I'm having a couple of ladies here and one of them is going to teach myself and the other lady how to do English paper piecing. Very old technique and I'm so looking forward to it. The lady who is teaching went to one of the quilt retreats with me and that is all she did. Didn't even take a sewing machine with her! She is making a King size quilt using this technique.

TB, watch those eyes!! Even though you are younger than me, it can still cause problems down the road.

Judy, one thing that it shows is the fact that Joshua has been raised right! He knows responsibility and he proves it!!

SS, Thomas doesn't talk about his time in Viet Nam very often. It's strange.....the gal who does my nails is Vietnamese and I told her that my husband had been there. She told me to thank him for her and she had tears in her eyes. She told me that her father nearly died in a POW camp in the North. Very sad.

WG, I've had the same thing with our grand kids and I've put a stop to it!! Our back storm door doesn't shut tight (long boring story). So I have to "lock" it when they go out.

PJ, yes, inquiring minds want to know!!!

We have a volleyball game tonight so I'm being very careful with my food choices today because we have to eat out again tonight. emoticon

Well, dryer just turned off so need to get the church laundry out!!

Good Morning!

We have a break in weather today, it is actually nice! So we decided to bring the MH up and get it packed as we have more storms moving in. We'll keep our eye on the weather and time our departure around the storms. Hopefully, Branson will have nice weather the week we are there.

SEK- so glad Joshua is doing well at his job. He definitely is proving to be reliable or they wouldn't be calling him for the extra hours.

WG - I don't understand why but kids just seem to naturally run in and out. We often had to put our foot down and say that's it with our GK's as well. Now that they are in their teens, they seldom go out at all.

TB - I hope your deadline isn't taking the fun out of your quilting! I'm glad you stopped when your eyes got tired.

PJ - you got us all wondering about the cherry tomato cobbler! Be sure and let us know how it is.

LG - yes, Norm served during the Vietnam years and understands the lack of appreciation shown at that time. I guess that's why he has so much pride in being a Vet in his later years. He just bought a new flag yesterday that basically says if you enjoy your freedom, thank a vet. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your new priest. As far as the church being cold, so many public places with A/C keep the temp too low (like a movie and some restaurants) It would be fine if you were up moving around but when you're just sitting, the cold settles on your shoulders!

Morning! I'm back and I guess ready to get back to the old routine.

I don't mind going and helping but I won't go back to where I was. That place is a horrible mess and short of completely cleaning house office wise I don't know if there is anyway to get it back on track. A couple of times they mentioned they were going to send me out to recruit. Finally I replied with I'm here to cover routes because you don't have drivers, I don't work for the Armed Forces Recruiting Office or Durham Recruiting Office. They said well we pay you for eight hours you should work eight hours. I reminded them that if they had me come in at 6 Am. by 2:30 Pm when I needed to drive a route I would be into overtime. Silly me I thought they would back off, no they just said it would be approved. Now if it is necessary to work overtime I'm all for it but it was not necessary because they had "stand by" people just waiting for hours. Then I had to ask myself why am I here? It was just crazy. So needless to say I had a very unusual week last week.

Glad to see most everyone has been busy, well, and having fun.

TB good luck in the show. I know you will have outstanding entries.

PJ cherry tomato cobbler?

Joshua is working more hours, he is even being called in when people don't show up. They are calling him before they call people that have been there longer. Our instructions on what an employee should do to make a good impression must be paying off. Glad he was listening. He is having a love hate relationship with the job but don't we all?!

I better go it'll be time to go to work soon.

Y'all have a magnificent Monday!

Good evening. I'm off to bed in a few but the kids just went home so I've got a minute to unwind. It was a mad house tonight. The little ones went in and out of the house leaving the back door open. They tend to get worse as the flies get worse but I finally insisted they all stay outside. It was unnecessary to be indoors when there were no adults there. They were fine with that.

TB, glad you didn't sew until your eyes crossed. My hands would cramp and become crippled with that much sewing. I found when I pushed too long, my hands wouldn't be able to hold a needle or whatever for days. Take it easy.

SS, I love that people are respecting servicemen these days. It was sad in the days of Vietnam that the men suffered so much and received no support at all. I talk to veterans today and they still don't talk about the war to anyone. One friend calls one of his comrades in arms from time to time and they "chat." He says they don't always talk about the war but they understand why they need to talk.

I'm sure your grandson will learn a lot from his discipline in the military. Hopefully it will help him this year in school.

PJ, cherry tomato cobbler? I'll have to look that one up. How did it turn out?

LG, I'm so glad you are liking your new priest. It has taken a while to fall in love with him. What will happen in the winter? Will he continue to freeze you out? I wear a heavy sweater to church most of the winter and usually wear a light one in the summer.

Tammy, I'm glad your brother is doing better every day. I'm sure you have a lot of support at home as well. In a week or so they will be talking about discharge and planning. Is he planning to live at his home?

Off to bed. Have a great day tomorrow all.

I've done all I can do on my quilts, for today. My eyes are starting to go blurry and when that happens it's time to stop.

One time I kept on pushing and ended up with such a bad case of eye strain that I thought I had had a stroke. I (literally) couldn't focus for 3 days. Lesson learned! Once everything had checked out okay my doc thought it was funny. His comment was something like "Let me guess - you've been staring at a quilt non-stop for several days straight, right? My wife does exactly the same thing and then wonders why her vision goes blurry."

There is no privacy when you live in a small town. emoticon

With only 13 days left until I have to submit my entries to the show, both king sized quilts need to be bound and labelled. Well, the labelling can wait - the binding cannot. So the clock continues to tick.

emoticon to everyone.

WG I would be concerned about your neighbor raising the ground level on his side causing flooding in your yard or basement. Where I live you need permits for fences and they inspect them before and after. There are strict guidelines that need to be followed. It wouldn't hurt to check it out.

I always try to thank our servicemen too. Frank had served in Vietnam and LG you're right. It took a long time for him to talk to me about his experience. I found out more listening to him talking with my brother in laws who also served.

We have another craft fair this weekend so my sewing machine is calling me.

Have a great Sunday!

Finished baking some cookies for the freezer. Will be trying a new recipe Cherry Tomato Cobbler with the tomatoes I just picked and have the front yard to mow and probably one more time later in the week before leaving on vacation.

DH replaced his mothers back door yesterday and I mowed part of her yard instead of just watching DH work.

Tammy sounds like DB is progressing that is wonderful news to hear.

Sharon so glad GS made it home I bet he does look different and more handsome. And I can tell you are a proud grandma.

WG hoping you can get the fence issue resolved to your satisfaction .

LG busy as usual with all the grands a ball games I remember days like that when the boys were little busy but fun

Hi!

Well, I didn't make it here yesterday and we were busy from 7 a.m. until after 6 p.m. last night. I was beat and after a stint on the couch went to bed!

We volunteered at the church 5k and then headed to Luke's soccer game. It started to rain just as the game was over. Went back to Jason's house and then headed to Sam's Club. Got home and then went to Mass. I'm really liking this priest. He is so funny. Only problem and I've told him....he keeps that church at about 68 degrees and it is freezing in there. It's hard to find one woman without a sweater or jacket on!! I told him that his sermons were good and didn't need to freeze us to keep us awake!! LOL!!

Today, we aren't doing much and I'm glad. Need a down day. Trying to get all my laundry done.

SS, glad that your DGS made it home with no problems. I try to tell the servicemen and women that I meet Thanks! It's important. I'm sure that he appreciates them too! When Thomas came back from Viet Nam no one said one word. In fact, he didn't tell people as they didn't like it. I feel for those vets as they weren't appreciated at all. Glad that you enjoyed your time with friends.

WG, hope that you can get others to oppose the fence. That is ridiculous! I'm sure that you can find out how high the fence is allowed to be.

Tammy, glad that DB is doing better. I remember mom also had one of those belts for a while and she took it off!!! Too funny!

PJ, Tammy, & Sharon, enjoy your RV get together! I'm sure that you'll have a great time. Any time you get together with SP friends it is going to be a good time!!

Good Morning!

Yesterday was another fun and busy day. We were off to the airport to join the group to welcome home our GS. When he was walking down the concourse and spotted his group, he broke out in a run straight to his mother's arms. It was so touching! Then he personally hugged and greeted everyone that came out. He said before they landed, the entire plane clapped for him and walking through the airport, he was amazed how many strangers stopped him to shake his hand and thank him for his service. It meant so much to him and he hasn't even been to active duty. Can you imagine how good it must feel to those that have been to war zones. It makes me want to say thank you to every serviceman. (or woman)

Then we went to Flags Unlimited. Norm had a specific flag he wanted to fly this coming winter while living in our MH. They had it! So he was happy.

After that we went over to some friends house for the evening. They also go to AZ every winter but they have a home in Sunrise so they are about an hour from us. That's OK as we still get together during the winter a couple times.

So Bailey was pretty happy to see us when we got home. Norm stayed up and watched TV for awhile before he went to bed but I crashed right away!

Tammy - you would love to meet with us when we go to Shipshewana as it's in the middle of Amish country and we get to see lots of Amish farms, buggies and eat at restaurants with Amish food. It sounds like DB is doing a little better. Norm hated wearing the gait belt but they told him it was a law for so many hours after you can be mobile. What he hated was he couldn't even go to the restroom without them coming and reminding him to ring for them. I think he could relate to what your DB is feeling. We will leave MI on Thursday and arrive in Branson on Saturday. I'm also looking forward to finally meeting you!

WG - My GS has definitely changed! He's lost about 35 lbs so that makes him look taller. He always was a good looking boy in my eyes but he came back even more handsome! Our weather was perfect yesterday for his landing. I'm glad his flight the night before was canceled as it was really storming all evening. It will be interesting to see what develops with the new commune and their fences. I suppose they are trying to work around ordinances that allow only 6 ft fences. Keep us informed.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, yes, our drive to visit DB was a fun one, through a bit of a small Amish community. We were behind 2?3? buggies at different points of our drive. I enjoy seeing their farms, etc.

DB is walking with a walker, but I noted yesterday that the gait belt is still being used. He has an alarm that he is supposed to push when he gets up, but he forgets when he awakes and needs to go to the restroom. I would probably forget it as well. DB knew DH when he went into the room ahead of me, and that was good. The charge nurse shared some things with me - I did have a question list from DD, who is a charge nurse at a facility in our area - and told me to never hesitate to call. I will likely know more about Medicare/Medicaid in the coming week.

DH and I will be going to Branson on Thursday for our Spark Rally with members of our RV Enthusiasts team. It will be good to be away and it will be good to meet Sparkfriends in person. I will drive back to work - I am part time - and have been trying to have things done ahead for those days.

Have a good day!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Good evening Seesters. I've been busy today but wanted to check in.

Tammy, hope your day was a good one. I expect your brother to do well in the rehab as he will receive intensive therapy from people who specialize in this type of care. Sounds like you had fun traveling to visit.

SS, hope your DGS got home safely. I was watching the news and the weather seemed to be quite awful. It is funny how different people look when they are done with basic. It is as though they got bigger, more solid, stronger. It isn't a bad thing so hopefully he will do well. When does school start for him?

Got my lawn mowed and groceries inside. I've got dinner for tomorrow. I was thirsty and probably hungry so I bought dumb things. I do have lots of veggies and fruits so I'll survive.

The people building a new house/compound (father and 2 sons building 3 homes together) tore down the trees bordering the place that used to be a field. The guy came by last week and told me the fence would be 6 feet but admitted today that it would be 6 feet from his side and he has raised the ground level 2-4 feet. I suppose they don't want to have to see the neighbors. I told him it wasn't right but he told me the drainage problems were more important than a silly fence. I don't think so. His father raised his ground 4 feet so neighbors who are 3 houses down from mine will have a 10 foot fence in their back yard. We don't have big yards.

Don't know that I'll have much voice but 10 families might. It is just dumb to raise the land so much unless you want to shut out the neighbors who are lower classed than they see themselves as being.

Spent some time with DGS who had a religious milestone today. The Dragon was so cute in his suit. He is a cute boy. It was nice to see DIL's family. They are good people.

Have a great day all. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good Morning!

We are going to try again today! Our GS, Pvt Hayden Schmidt was supposed to fly in from Atlanta last night at 11:35. However, his flight was canceled due to all the severe weather in our area. We really had bad T-storms so for his safety it was probably best. Although he is tired from 12 hrs in the Atlanta airport. Now he must spend another 12 hours and try to sleep in an airport chair! He has been rescheduled and is due to land this afternoon. The weather has cleared up and he should be OK. We'll be there along with several others to welcome him home!

PJ - it's so nice that your DH takes good care of his mother. I am sure she appreciates all the little things like installing the new back door.

Tammy - I'm hoping you get some of the rain we've been having. I'll glady send our share to you as I'm mighty tired of it.

WG - your kids must appreciate all the babysitting you do with the grandkids. We used to have our DD's kids all the time after her divorce but since she's remarried and they have grown up, it's very different. As for the dog, we certainly aren't as attached as DS & DIL but we do have more feelings than for their other dog. My son broke down to tears when he was telling us and I think our hearts are breaking more for what they are dealing with. This dog is my DIL's love and she is taking it the hardest. The next couple of weeks will be so difficult knowing she is dying and not being able to help. We do not get our meds in the mail but we get them from KMart. We have a KMart right by our resort in AZ and they just transfer our prescriptions. It works well for us.
