Happy Thanksgiving Seesters. I just got back from eating and spending some time with dad. He didnít remember I was going to be there but thatís ok. Maybe a surprise is better.

Tammy prayers for DD do keep us updated. As for DB do you think he didnít remember home health being there?

SEK as far as beans go I like them too much to quit eating them for the after affects. But you know what really gives me gas is hummus. And I wonít give it up either. So I just live with being gassy for awhile.

Sharon your Thanksgiving dinner and chef Norm sounds like a good match. I know you will have a great time. Ooops except for losing that money at the casino.

LG I used to make a recipe that had cooked spaghetti (noodles only) as a crust. I need to pull that one back out again. How many are you cooking for?

TB glad you are keeping up your routine. Good for you girlfriend.

WG glad you get a break from the cooking like you say you do a lot of big dinners throughout the year for your family. You deserve a break.

I did get DH to take some picture of my recent finished knitting projects will try and do a blog later today with them.

Hi all. Worked today and tomorrow. Lots of work and not a lot of chief type people. Today the administrative people went to the local food bank and worked. No bosses at all. It as pretty laid back. Tomorrow will be similar but the biggest bosses come and serve dinner.

SS, glad you are having Thanksgiving with a good friend. Chicken tastes better to me than Turkey. I'm good with that and the other side dishes. Still into stuffing though. Glad Bailey is feeling better.

TB, glad you can work out during the cold months. Are you exercising by running the stairs again? I know it worked for you before. I'm sure Red looks forward to your visits as well.

Weezie2, I enjoy not hosting. I host enough dinners. It is nice not to have to clean and cook for a change. I don't even make pie as my sister and son do them and my son's are great. The other things my SIL cooks so I let her. She has had chef classes so she makes great foods.

Tammy, I'm glad you are getting ready for dinner. There is always so much to do. It will be nice to have people to dinner. I'm sorry DD is having a new challenge. HPV can cause problems with female organs as can some other things. It will work out because she is taking care of things but it may change her script for life. It's hard for you no matter what. She will always be your daughter.

LG, it is nice that you have another place to store your goods. That is a problem when I have a good dinner. Lots of food to store and prepare. I'm so glad you plan ahead and make so much of your dinner beforehand. I'm sure it will allow you a more restful day tomorrow.

I've done a "pizza" pasta casserole for a long time. Don't do it much now but it sounds good.

Judy, I hope the soups work out well. My kids would revolt if we didn't at least pretend at Thanksgiving. I don't know what would be better about school, challenging classes to learn a lot of new things and prepare for college or some easier classes to enjoy the fun of school.

I'm off to bed in a few. Hate going so early but I need to feel human tomorrow. Lots of sick patients.

Have a great day.

Good afternoon everyone:

Tammy: I hope your family appreciates all you do for them!

SEK: I know I've said it before but I'll say it again. IMO you deserve a medal for home schooling. I never could have done it.

Sharon: I'm glad Bailey is feeling better.

Lily: The pizza casserole sounds delicious. Is this a new recipe?

I'm still on board with my workouts - so far, so good. I am trying my DILs method to keep myself honest ... a sticker goes on the calendar for every day I exercise. Big, gaping holes are kind of hard to ignore.

emoticon PJ, the two Weezies and anyone I've missed. Have a great day and happy Thanksgiving.

Morning, I'm running by just to say emoticon . Getting food prepped for tomorrow. Kids should all be here this evening. I'm making a pasta dish this is baked. Sort of like a pizza casserole. Went to the museum and got all my frozen food and brought it up to thaw. Turkey is thawed and in the freezer.

Everyone is so busy with food and cleaning this time of year. Weezie2, I've gone to taking the advice of any old friend....she said "clean when they leave not before they come so you don't have to do it twice!" I do go over it all before and then really clean after they are gone.

SS, glad that Bailey is doing better. I told a friend about it and she told me that her vet told her that it was BP related. Who knew? Maybe or maybe not!

SEK, the beans do that to me too but also give me the trots!! emoticon

Tammy, will be praying for your DD. Hope all is well.

TB, good to see ya'!!!

PJ, it's like that around here on soup....Thomas can only go so long and then he's over it!!

emoticon to everyone I missed!!

Good Morning!
Lots of food prep work this morning, then packing everything up and heading out to Yuma this afternoon. I'm making a lightened up Acorn Squash recipe and a Low Cal Low Fat Pistachio Pudding Cake. Both should be good. Norm is making a Drunken Chicken on the grill tomorrow instead of turkey. Ruthann has never had a Beer Butt Chicken so I hope she likes it. We decided a turkey is just too large for the three of us.

SEK - Joshua is doing so well with the home schooling but I know it adds work for you as well. I hope he's got the hard stuff over and you can relax some next semester.

Tammy - so sorry to read about your DD. I will immediately keep her in my prayers for this new physical development. It can't be good that it's moved to another Stage. All I know is it is a precancerous condition. Let's hope and pray it is still precancerous! And good job on making the right phone calls to help your DB. You are his guardian angel here on earth!

Weezie - I see you will be busy cooking and baking as well.

TB - good job on exercising. I can relate to sore muscles!

PJ - thanks for the concern about Bailey. She seems to be doing very well (for her). No more bleeding from the nose (knock on wood) and is pretty much back to normal. We are slacking off on the exercise for her as recommended by the Vet. Even Norm passed on the morning walk today as it was 40 degrees when he got up. He said "Too cold!" All we can do is take it day by day.

I've got a busy day planned here as well. I've got pumpkins pies to bake for tomorrow and a broccoli cauliflower salad to make as well as cooking a small turkey. Thanksgiving is not here so at least I don't need to super clean the house too. There's a few in the family with allergies so I always try to make it better for them too.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Well, I should be cleaning like Tammy but so far this morning nothing has motivated me! emoticon

I've been lazy when it comes to exercise and I need to get back to it, since I don't have work for an excuse.

I think I'll get the tree put up today but don't know if I'm going to do much decorating, again not much motivation. emoticon

LG I know you have stomach problems but we all just deal with the End result of beans in this family. If Joshua ate them we could go out on the road as a musical quartet. emoticon

Update on school; done both semesters of math, economics done, science has 18 more lessons and both semesters are done, 1st semester of English done and second started, office applications 1 done, personal & family living done. We should finish by the end of the year. I don't know what he's going to take next semester, I need to call and see how many credits he needs. The good thing is all core curriculum will be finished and the rest of the credits will be what ever he wants, and I hope he picks something easy. He did Business Law over the summer and that just about killed us both.

I should go and get busy, y'all have a wonderful Wednesday!

I should get this day started.

Hi, Seesters!

Cleaning/cooking prep/walking on my agenda today! I am eagerly anticipating some sewing time on Friday.

I spent some time on the phone yesterday regarding DB. He said there had been no visit from the home health nurse last week, and I also realized we didn't know about an appointment with the cardiologist who visits the little town, so I called his primary care doctor's office to see what I could find out. Three phone calls later, there is a cardiologist appointment, the home health agency came out yesterday afternoon, and I have an invitation to call them [the agency] at any time. As I have SD and DD in health care and know that my DB isn't the best patient, I am casting no blame on them at all. I would have preferred DB find these things out, but as he hadn't, perhaps I bought him some time in some way for just phone calls on my part. emoticon

DD had a procedure for cervical dysplasia six months ago, and was to be checked every six months. She went for her six month checkup, and needs to have another biopsy as the situation has progessed to another stage. I don't know enough about it to talk about it intelligently, but thoughts/prayers would be welcome! I tried to keep it all positive by telling her it was a very good thing she was on top of such things. There were many other thoughts that ran through my mind that I kept to myself. I do that a lot. emoticon

Well, I am getting to my "agenda" - have a very good day!

Good evening everyone:

A quick fly-by to say hello.

Lily and Weeze: The quilts are lovely. I especially like the umbrella ones.

So far, I've stuck to my exercise program. I'm sure feeling the effects of using my muscles differently ... stiff!

Take care, all.

LG and Weez glad you had a good time. But knew you would.

SEK that soup was delicious. We have been eating quite a bit of soup the last two weeks. I think I may be pressing my luck in that area for the time being I need to cook meat for DH.

Got to Ikea store yesterday for the first time. Bought several small items and 2 pkgs of their frozen meatballs and jam for our Christmas dinner.

Sharon is Bailey feeling better for now? I hope so does she like to get groomed?

Good Morning!
Another busy day on tap: laundry, grocery shopping, and Bailey gets groomed (we want her clean and smelling nice for our trip to Yuma!) I found a cooler for us to use so I got that yesterday. Our resort sells ice for $.25 a bag so we'll take advantage of that!

LG - I haven't had any problems with SP. I hope you quit having difficulties as that makes it no fun! I really enjoyed your blog and I agree, the umbrella's are so cute!

SEK - any one of those soups sound good to me! I love bean soup but Norm won't eat it so when I make it, I freeze individual servings for me!

Weezie - sorry DH is sick and I hope you don't get it. You both need to feel good for Thanksgiving! Good luck on your report. If it can be done, you'll do it!

Morning, everyone!

Still have trouble with SP but not as bad...I forgot to post a picture of the bitty bag Weezie showed me how to make! When I get it done, I'll try to get a picture on here. I have so much to get done and I really don't want to do anything but go upstairs and sew! It was pouring rain here yesterday and I didn't go get the church laundry so I've got to do that today. While we were gone over the weekend there was a huge fire here in town and burned down 3 very large building in our small town. The smell here is god-awful. You can't seem to get away from it. With the rain yesterday, it did help some.

SS, I know that you will enjoy visiting your friends. Have safe travels.

Judy, enjoy your time off work and I can't eat either chili or bean soup. You don't want to know!!! emoticon

Tammy, I did see that picture on FB of the lady in the MH sewing. Go, girlfriend!!

Weezie, hope that your 2 days at work are a breeze and that Gary gets well soon. Stay away from him!!

Now I've got to get.... emoticon

LG and Weezie glad you are back safe and sound.

Sharon enjoy your Thanksgiving.

Tammy I'm making chili, potato soup, and bean soup. The bean soup is so easy and Mike and I love it, the boys won't touch it. One doesn't like beans and the other doesn't like anything with flavor, aka peppers and onions. Ask PJ about the bean soup it's what they had when they visited the last time.

Last day of school this week and I'm ready.

Y'all have a terrific Tuesday, I got to get.

Good morning all!

Well a quickie but wanted to wish you all a lovely day. DH is home sick. He had a miserable night so hopeful I can avoid getting what he has. Been there, done that.

Off to work and hope to get a report done that is due by the 30th. Little time but I have things pulled together so hopeful I can knock it off today. Then there is another bundle of stuff to address relating to count day. Oh joy!

Do wish you all a great day!

Well, I got the blog with pictures posted. The more I look at my umbrellas, the more I just love them! It was funny....I was sitting here watching the Colts game when my phone rang. It was the gal who put the retreat on and she said that I left something very valuable at the retreat. I just couldn't think what it might be. Turns out it was all my umbrella blocks!! I put them on a table thinking that I take them when I took my machine out to the car but walked right out with out them!!

Is anyone else having trouble with SP? I can't seem to get it to take my posts. I'll be typing away and nothing on the page!! Took me forever to get my blog posted. So this is it! emoticon to everyone. One last thing....these damn ads don't have any problems at all. I'm done!

Good Morning!

So much to do today. My big job today is to find someone that has a cooler I can borrow for our trip to Yuma! I am bringing several items for our Thanksgiving dinner premade so we don't have to spend too much time working when we're together. It's a four hour trip down so I need a cooler.

Our restaurant here in the resort finally got their liquor license and they finally finished the Pet Park so tomorrow is a celebration all day long. A ribbon cutting at the Pet Park, a tour of the new and improved Woodshop and then free Hot Dogs, with free wine, beer and soda at noon time. A concert in the afternoon by the Salvation Army Brass Band with their buckets and bell ringers at the door. And 3-5 is our Carousing the Courtyard (happy hour) again with free appetizers and drinks. It's a calorie mine field and something going on at all times. You can see how we stay busy!!

Morning all!

Yes, I made it back from the retreat safely with only rain to contend with. Far better than what I dealt with getting out of here on Thursday but it is now history once again.

I too worked on my quilt and I have many blocks done. Have learned a lot along the way plus I spent time cutting as I got tired of the same thing and it was fun to roam around seeing what others were working on. Never ceases to amaze me the talent some of these ladies have and I know the machines they have also contributes to that with their embroidery capabilities but still, loads of work.

Now I need to regroup and enjoy the day but also accomplish a lot. Two days of work this week but a deadline on a state report looms so my goal is to figure that once out tomorrow. I also have another project with deadlines which effect $$ so that is the 2nd thing on the agenda. Now this is barring no unexpected things that I've been left so we'll see!

Hope you are all well and I'll try to take a few photos of my blocks. LG's are far prettier with the fabrics she chose but interesting as to how the same pattern can look so different.

Will check back later. Duties are calling.

Hi, Seesters!

SS, in the past, I had a resistance band that I accidently missed holding onto, and the end snapped and hit me in the eye area. It hurt quite a while after that, but could have been worse. It kinda hurts thinking about it. emoticon

Waiting to see pics of the retreat, LG and Weezie! emoticon

Judy, sorry about the UTI. I have been miserable when I had one. What kinds of soup are you going to make?

PJ, how did the weekend visit with DS's future in-laws go?

Good morning!

LG can't wait to see what the two of you have done.

Yes Sharon you are doing great!

PJ if I don't get mine done in the morning it is a real job to get it done at all.

I've been busy this last week and only here enough to log in and move on. On top of being busy I decided to get a UTI, guess I figured it would be something different to take care of! emoticon

Saturday I worked 14 hours and didn't even want to think about the computer. I think today will be the same. Tomorrow is the last day of school for the week and I'm ready.

We are not having a big Thanksgiving since there are just the four. I decided to make a couple different soups and have healthy finger foods to go with.

Y'all take care. Be here when I can.

Hello, we are back...Weezie is home and I'm unpacked and one load of laundry is done. I will post a blog probably tomorrow. We didn't get our quilts put together. I have 16 blocks done and I'm not sure about Weezie. We had a great time and went a day early. I will post a picture of the Christmas throw that I made and some of the blocks that I worked on at the retreat. We had pretty nice weather after the Friday.

See y'all tomorrow.

Had a great day yesterday with my knitter group on a field trip and lunch. And yes yarn came home with me. But I knew it would. Today is a quiet knitting day for me until I cook dinner tonight

TB I can find lots of excuses too most of which involve sewing or knitting.

Sharon I do ok if I get in my clothes first thing in the morning and do exercise then but if I donít and there isnít a class I go to it seems it doesnít get done.

Tammy Iíll kick you if you kick me. Gently please.

Good Morning!

I wish I enjoyed exercise! I hear people say they get a high from exercising and miss it if they don't - NOT ME! I have to talk myself in to every exercise session I do! I did get out and buy a new rope band as my last one simply broke. There is no way to fix the rubber tube so that you could trust it again. BTW, it hurt when it broke! I used my new one yesterday and oh boy! I am sore today. Seems this one doesn't have near as much stretch as the old one so perhaps someone was trying to tell me something! emoticon

TB - I know how much you enjoy your riding time with Red but winters are not pleasant in your area. I probably wouldn't be outside as much as you are. Red will enjoy what time you can be with him. Bailey is so funny as she remembers everything! She completely understands living in MI and living in AZ are different routines and is fine with either. I'm sure Red will be fine if you're riding or doing ground work.

Tammy - get motivated or there will have to be some butt kicking emoticon

Good morning everyone:

Sharon: Congratulations on the weight loss.

I've been busy, as usual, but I think things are finally about to settle down.

I made my trip to the Quarter Horse Congress in Buffalo (I'd sure hate to be there right now - those poor people) and finished my Equine First Aid Course.

I did my first formal work-out this morning since my riding is obviously over for the winter. Up until this year I've tried to convince myself that I'd ride all year round. I bought some very expensive, warm winter riding gear but I still didn't do it. I discovered that he riding isn't the issue - it's the tacking up. When it's -20 outside, the tack is also -20 and frozen leather is really hard to work with, my hands freeze and I'm just plain miserable ... so I don't. I'll see Red every day mother nature allows and we can do some ground work.

I have a really hard time getting back on track with the work-outs once riding ends. It's so easy to sit back and find excuses and I'm very creative when it comes to excuses emoticon Once I get back in the habit I'm fine, it's the transition I find difficult.

Hello to everyone. I'll talk to you soon.

"I Can't" means "I haven't learned how yet and I'm not going to try".

Good Evening!
I was so happy with another 2 lb loss this week and was so busy posting that I left home in a hurry without my Omron. I did more walking today than since we arrived and no step counter to tell me how many steps I walked! Bummer!

Looks pretty quiet here today.

Good Morning!

It is overcast here this morning, a little unusual but nothing compared to what most of you are experiencing. I see after all the snow, the midwest is now expecting temps in the high 40's with rain. That should get rid of a lot of the snow. Poor Buffalo, now under a flood watch!

I am sticking to a no carb day again today. I eat low carb most of the time but the last few Friday's I have went no carb and it has helped with my weight loss for the week. Tomorrow is our 6th WI for our challenge so I'm working for another loss!

Hi, Seesters!

The retreat has either begun or will shortly; I, too, look forward to seeing what our Seesters accomplish!

My BF is definitely retiring this year, and I look forward to the quilting bees that we have planned. In fact, that might be a very good reason for me to get some quilting tops pieced. Hmmmmm....I wouldn't object to having done some that were "lessons" for us on the quilting frame.

WG, love the tunic idea for longer use in what will be a great family tradition.

It does look as if our home will be Switzerland, at least for a few hours. DD's BF needs to be at work earlier, so he shall not be there, but at the rate she goes through them, it might be a moot point anyway. Regardless, it is what the situation is, so we shall "run" with it. I shall tell DH of this development today; I was waiting until I knew about DD as pertaining to Thanksgiving Day, as it is so important for him for it to be on THE DAY.

SS, your makeover salad did sound good! Joe and I would like that.

Hello to everyone! Have a very good day.

Hi all. Got home from work. Have some errands in the morning and plan to be gone before someone can come over and visit. I put a load in the washer. Walked in some liquid this morning and later discovered it wasn't water. I've got a couple more loads tonight but will get them done.

Got a couple of tunics done last night. I'll be making some small ones tomorrow. They will be mostly "pillow case" size and the little ones are skinny enough to wear them more than one year. They hopefully will enjoy this drama. I'd love to have some mice in my pockets as well.

LG, Weezie, enjoy your time. I know you have a lot of plans. It will be fun to see the quilts made with the same pattern but your own colors.

I'm off to bed and sleep. Lots to do tomorrow.

PJ - I'm REALLY glad we left and missed the horrible snow storm. It's still coming down. BUT, the good news is by the weekend it's supposed to warm up into the high 40's and rain which will get rid of a lot of snow! I checked and it looks about the same for Dayton, OH so your DS shouldn't have any problems. I'm so excited he is going to meet his finance's family. Your efforts with the cookies will be appreciated!

I had a lovely day yesterday with my knitting group a field trip and lunch out. Today I did a Zumba class and have a Hospice meeting tonight. Tomorrow I am baking cookies with future DIL for them to take to her family for Thanksgiving. DS is meeting her family for the first time so I sure hope these cookies are a big hit. Saturday another field trip with the knitting group to a knitting craft fair and lunch out.

I have had so much fun this week. DH decided with the rainy weather coming that he is not hunting anymore this year. So I will have him home now until we go to Texas for the winter. He was only gone 1 night this year so no alone time for me but I have done everything I planned on doing anyway even with him home.

Tammy glad to hear SD had a good time with the gentleman. I do hope your kids can both be at your house for Thanksgiving and that it will be a good time with no drama

Weez2 I bought 1 skein of yarn on the trip yesterday and made a knitted headband last night and another one started. Easy and fun to do. I plan to keep one of them for myself and one for future DIL. Now the field trip Saturday is where I will be spending $$$ on hand dyed yarn from local vendors.

Sharon arenít you glad you are in AZ now with all the nasty northern weather. I have my fingers crossed that DSís trip will not be hampered by weather. Her family is in the Dayton Ohio area.

WG you have such wonderful family fun ideas. I would love to be a little mouse in your house to watch the activities. I typed this before I saw Sharonís response about being a mouse in your pocket. We must be thinking a like.

LG it amazing how much work you can get done at a retreat and still talk and talk and talk.
Have a good time this weekend.

Gotta go things to do before I have to leave again.

Morning!

Weezie & LG - we're all living vicariously through you two! Have fun at your retreat. We'll try to be good but no promises.

Weezie2 - I remember the days of the GK's sleeping over and in our bed. They weren't too old before we suggested "Carpet Camping" in their sleeping bag. Of course, we had three little ones that all wanted to sleep with us!

WG - I wish I could be a mouse in a pocket to see your little family dramatization of the nativity. What lifetime memories you are making! I'll keep my fingers crossed that your DS finds a job that is financially and emotionally fulfilling!

Tammy - I will anxiously be awaiting to see if your DD and DS end up together on Thanksgiving! Perhaps they are in better places emotionally and will actually enjoy some family time together.

I woke up just a little tired this morning. Kami spent the night and wanted to sleep with G'ma in her bed instead of her big girl bed. I'm not use to little feet all over me while I'm sleeping....lol

It was so cute to hear her say G'ma "it's morning" I was happy it was 7 when she told me and not in the middle of the night.

We made snowmen ornaments last night from a foam kit. She busy making them this morning with no help at all. She surprises me sometimes with just how smart she is.

Have fun at your quilt retreat....one year life will settle down and I'll be going with you.

Have a Great Thursday!

Hello, ladies.....went to St. Vincent de Paul this morning. We are still in the old building and it was cold. Didn't stay too long. Me and cold don't like each other.... emoticon

Weezie2, yep!! We'd have a good time. One of these days you'll make it. Believe it or not we do get a lot of sewing done.

We have 2 bb games tonight so we are leaving soon to head out. Our weather is changing yet again. Got up to 14 but now 40. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer and by Sunday is supposed to be in the high 50s. So we should be good. But hope that Weezie has no trouble getting out of Michigan.

I'll try to get back later tonight or early in the morning.

Good morning all. It is an "on call" day and they had 2 people on call so I got first dibs to be off. Got to get sewing very soon. Making costumes for the Nativity play for the family party in a week and a half. Just robes and things. Nothing fancy. I have a pattern but not enough time and want the children to be able to participate without stress. The costumes will be saved for each year. We did this when my children were little and it seems like a good thing to do.

Tammy, it sounds like a good idea to keep your home open. To choose one over another would certainly cause trauma and drama. The kids can "play civil" for a few minutes. It is also possible that all will be able to do a good job of beginning to heal. Love is a great healer and being a peacemaker is a "blessed" thing. It doesn't mean you can change their dynamic, but you can keep your home open and "Switzerland."

Weezie2, cold is miserable. I don't think we remember how cold things were because most of the time we are in warmer places. Bundling up is wonderful. Most of the snow was "lake effect."

Weezie, glad you could help out with Ava. Hoping for another snow day I guess, but does that affect Ava then? It is great that you are available and can help out. I am thinking of you and hoping the weather holds out for your retreat. It has been great here so it should move east and be fine. Expecting snow this weekend, but not before.

It's been cold enough to have snow but only flakes. We are often fairly dry until Christmas. Some years we've had some good storms, but most of the time, it is pretty cold and mild until January.

I'm getting my machines up from the basement. I need to be upstairs more of the time, so I'll be moving the sewing room up for the winter.

DS went on a job interview yesterday and another today. It has been 15 months since he worked. He didn't get a job for a while and then there was the baby and summer, so he is finally moving forward. He needs to be productive again.

Have a great day

Morning!

I just heard on TV that MI's temps will be in the 40's with rain by the weekend. At least that will help get rid of some of the snow they've gotten in the last couple of days.

Our temps seem to be settling in to the 70's and that is fine with me. I see next week we'll only get in the 60's a couple of days. With the sun shining brightly, that probably sounds good to most of you!

Bailey seems just fine now. I'm sure there is something going on inside her body but right now Norm and I are confident we made the right decision.

Weezie2 - it's difficult enough picturing Pat & Weezie getting their projects done at their retreat. Add you to the mix and who knows. BUT, I do know it would be lots of fun so I hope you can go some time in the future.

Weezie - another snow day? Wow! It's difficult to even think of shutting down schools and businesses two days in a row due to weather, especially in November!

Tammy - I'm glad your SD is feeling confident enough to go out with friends, both the movie with a girlfriend and an actual dinner date. I'm also happy they both went well and she's ready for another date!

We've got the bitter cold and so far I can still see grass so it's East of me that's getting hammered with this weather. My SIL said we were this cold last year too because he about froze his butt off deer hunting. I guess I like to forget these things.

I'll be heading up to Kelly's again to finish a few sewing projects. I might just take some of it home to do. She wants to make a few spare covers for her changing pads. Of course we still have time so maybe I'll hold off and let her make them herself.

I'm keep hoping life settles down and I can go on these quilting retreats with Pat and Weezie in the future. Of course if I went we might not get as much sewing done. emoticon I've had a few sewing instructors concerned when I walked into a class. I always got my projects done but shall we say I know how to perk up a class ...lol emoticon

Have a Great Wednesday.

Hi, Seesters!

Weezie, prayers for travel mercies, and I look forward to reading about yours and LG's excellent time.

We are about to come out of the deep freeze here. I haven't shared with DH yet, but we will at least have SD and DS and DIL here for lunch on Thanksgiving Day. DD is working and is hoping for holiday pay, but I can see that she might stop by. This is significant because it will be the first time both of my children will be in the same place at the same time in a year and a half. We will see if it happens. I didn't invite them both to get them together; I invited them both because that is what I would do. I am seriously thinking of preparing some of the food early and then reheating. I read some instructions about doing that with turkey and it did sound as if it would still be moist.

SD moved to SW MO almost two years ago - has been divorced for four - and went out on her first date since the divorce [or at least since she moved here] last night. I am glad she seems to be doing some things for herself. She went to a movie with a girlfriend from work last weekend, and then the dinner date last night. She tends to be a hermit after her days at the hospital, and I was glad to see this happen. She came to get Tank Dog after her dinner last night; she had a good time, and she and the gentleman are going out next weekend as well, so I thought they at least had a good enough time to try it again. It is just good for her to get OUT some.

I need to get to the She Cave - perhaps this weekend.

Hello to all! Have a very good day.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Morning all,

Well we had no school yesterday but I did go in after it got light. Planned to work the day but Ava's mom didn't pay attention and after driving out to school, realized it was closed. So scramble time and I ended up leaving after 12 to go get her and take her home. She spent the night. Made no sense for Sara to come get her in this weather and late so either I will keep her today till it gets light again and I head in and drop her off on the way, or will take her when I go. I'll be surprised if we have school. Either way, she'll go home this morning sometime and I will go to work for at least awhile. I'm off after today and ask all pray for safe travels for me tomorrow as I head to Indiana to hang out with Pat for a few days.

PJ, glad you came out of the cave after a few days. I had to chuckle. I'd have to at least get out and shovel a bit. But I do fully understand.

Weezie, would love to see your hats. I've seen them at craft shows and they are stinkin adoreable. Hope the craft shows are going well and you're not buried in the snow.

SS, I'm sorry about Bailey but think the route you've chosen is wise. Enjoy the time you have.

Tammy, how are things in your neck of the woods?

WG, snow there? Ready for the holidays with all your little ones?

Judy, I'm sure you're planning your cruise and can't wait for the time to get here. It will go quickly, I've no doubt.

TB, you keeping warm and hanging with Red? Any new quilts in the works?

Okay, need to try to get hair dried and dressed and hope I hear something soon. Should be anytime if they make the decision to call another day off. This could be a long COLD winter here.

Well, the little one woke up and realized we were up so now she is up. Gotta get around so wishing you all a great day!

Zumba Gold this morning Ė first time I have been out of the house in 3 days. I was just hibernating inside during the cold temps.

I also went to the store this morning to get pizza fixings. They did not carry the Flat Out Flatbread so I did buy the thin pizza bread the store had. It looks like calorie count is pretty low. When I go to another store later this week I will look for the flat bread there.

Weez glad you are getting out of fixing Thanksgiving. Arenít the holidays a pain sometimes. Glad you have Christmas figured out. I just picked a date and told everyone and will see who shows up this year. I am looking forward to the 3 young boys being here and that in itself will be some entertainment.

WG I am so sorry to hear about your friend/coworker. Those treatments are very painful and debilitating. Your going to have fun decorating in your new kitchen and house this year. Enjoy

LG only 2 days wow I know you two are going to have fun. And of course we expect thorough reports and pics. Losing your nail person so quickly without notice. Thatís not nice but maybe it was a spur of the moment move. Good luck finding someone you will like. Thatís as bad as finding a new beauticiain.

Weez 2 we need a picture of those hats.

Sharon Iím sure Bailey is exhausted and probably run down from blood loss. Just keep enjoying her and making her comfortable and spoiling her of course.

I'm off to cut out some wide headbands and do some sewing. The rest of the week I am really busy so won't have any time.

Just lost my post I had written. Can't go back and start again.

Basically, I feel bad for all the snow and cold temps in the Midwest.

Weezie2 - would love a pic of you and Kami in your new hats!

LG - it's difficult to change hairdressers, so some times it's worth the extra effort to go to the one you're comfortable with

WG - how strange that the patient just walked out. Yes, our resort does a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner on the Holidays but this year we are going to spend Thanksgiving with our friend in Yuma. Her first big Holiday living alone so we want to go keep her from feeling blue. Plus, we're both dieting so it won't be the normal calorie laden feast.

Weezie - now that Bailey's nose has stopped bleeding, she is doing much better. She is a little more lethargic than normal but that's the only change so far. We have no idea how long she has. Perhaps if we paid the $1,000 we would have a better idea but I'm not sure it makes any difference. She could go for quite awhile and then go downhill quickly. Time will tell but it will be a really sad day for Norm when he loses her as he's very attached to her.

PJ - I am still trying to conquer counting carbs with my diet but I understand that is the hardest for most diabetics. I am starting to feel better physically and didn't realize how bad I was last summer until I start to feel better. I bet your DS is very nervous about meeting future in-laws but I'm sure if their daughter is happy they will like him. Be sure and let us know how it goes.

Yep it's a cold one here too. I'm thinking about calling the furnace guy just to make sure I don't have any problems with winter weather hitting so hard and early this year.

I bought a book this spring on knitting those animal hats that l've seen lots of kids and young at heart wear. I bought some nice wool blend yarn yesterday and knitted a fox hat. Silly me I forgot to get black yarn for his ears and nose. It's a shame a road trip to Hobby Lobby is on the agenda today. emoticon He's turning out really cute. I'm hopping Kami will wear him when I finish him. It's nice because most hats are tight on my head and I hate wearing them. This pattern also has adult sizes with ear flaps so I can make one for me to wear.

Have a Great Tuesday. I'm off to see what I can get done before I help Kelly with a sewing project early this afternoon.

Good morning, ladies!

Got up to 11 degrees here this morning. We got 3.5 inches of snow yesterday. We don't usually get this kind of weather in November. What will January be like?? emoticon

WG, that is just awful about the patient...wonder if she was homeless? When I worked at the hospital we had that happen several times. We used to contact the police but now you can't because of privacy laws.

SS, so sorry about Bailey. It is so hard when your furry friend isn't well. Went thru that with our last dog. Been 17 years since we had to put Punkin down. So sad.

Tammy, glad that you have enjoyed your quiet days. I am hoping to have one today. Thomas is going to Rachel's house to work on her hardwood floor. So I'll have the day to myself.

PJ, I'm sure that your DS will make a great impression on her family. So glad that you've "fallen in love" with her and her boys!

Weezie, just think 2 days!! I'm getting everything together. Need to make a run to Sharynn's to get blades for my rotary cutter and new needles for my sewing machine. I still need to cut that backing for my umbrellas too! YIKES!! Got to get busy today.

Did get my hair highlighted and it looks good I think. I go to my neighbor to get my hair cut and to another gal to get my color. My neighbor doesn't like to do color! Found out last week that the gal who has been doing my nails for 3 years has moved to Texas. Just up and left! Now I need to start over! Hate that. Why don't they tell people before they leave?? UGH!!!

Thomas just left for Rachel's so I'd better get busy!!

Good evening Seesters. It was another long day at work. We more than doubled the census today and only got one nurse. One of the staff has Myeloma (a bad form of cancer) and has been getting radiation the past week. She was so sick we sent her home. She has 2 more weeks of radiation to go before the cancer is slowed there. It is so hard to have her sick. I've known her for almost 20 years.

One lady was supposed to go home. I had her prescriptions and things in my hands and she walked out without them. Called the numbers on the admission sheet and she had lied about them. No answers. Her doctor will be angry for sure.

Anyway, I'm glad to be home for a day. Long week again. Working the extra shift. Money is nice, though.

SS, so hard to have Bailey not feeling well. I agree about treatment. Make him comfortable. If he gets better, so be it. If not, make him as pain free as possible.

Big celebrations for the holidays at the resort?

Tammy, a few quiet days are wonderful. Love puttering and quiet. It seldom happens here. Didn't get the cake baked but the rest of dinner was great. Had about half the ham left so I sent it home with the kids. I have not much of anything left.

Weezie2, love the idea of making an infinity scarf. Glad you feel better.

LG, glad the water issue is done. What a mess! It has to be nice to be back to your routine. It seems like you usually do the church linens on Monday. Gotta be nice thinking about retreat. I'm not sure I'm that flexible with hair dressers. I changed when mine wasn't available on the days I needed her. I'm sure I offended her, but I like the new one much better.

Weezie, you are always such a busy woman. I hate commutes in bad weather. Your holiday plans sound fun. I think the gift idea is a great one. Thanksgiving sounds like a challenge. It is good that you do "civil" with the ex, but it is never as much fun as having them not there.

Gotta run and get to bed. Watching the boys tomorrow so I'll be busy. Need to do some other things to take care of life as well. Ordered some remote switches so I can put some things above the cupboards. I had soffits for years so it is exciting to put some lights up there especially for the holidays.

Have a great day.

Hello my friends, I'm still alive and well.

Well winter is here. We have a winter weather warning through tomorrow night at 9 p.m. If we don't have a snow day tomorrow I'll be surprised. The wind has picked up and was only 19 degrees on my trip home. What normally takes 15-20 minutes took 40 from Paw Paw to Kazoo. All things moving slowly. I will likely go in later though tomorrow so I can get some things that need to be done before being off Thursday to head down to sew with Pat. I'm so ready to get away. These last few weeks have been tough. I'm tired.

SS, sorry to hear about Bailey. I hope you can keep her comfortable. She's had a good life with you and Norm. Sorry you don't have snow - NOT, LOL Glad you're not having to deal with this nonsense.

PJ, you've certainly been busy with your knitting. You and Weezie are good and wish you were closer to teach me the ins and outs. I managed one scarf and haven't done anything since. I did buy a nice skein down in Shipsee last time I was there so might be fun to work with rather than the cheap stuff I tried with the first time around. I'm not giving up yet.

Tammy, hope all is well with you in your world.

TB, hope you had a great birthday.

WG, how are things in your world and all the kids?

Judy, happy your done with Math forever. Hard to believe Joshua is nearly done with school . Seems like yesterday he was just a little kid and now he's all grown up. You did well.

Pat, I'm sorry to hear about the water issue. Glad Thomas was able to get things back together. Wonder why it came unglued so to speak.

So I am doing Xmas with some of the kids. Lee and Kelly won't be coming so no little girls. Just our Ava and her mama. Plus my son/DIL and boys along with Gary's daughter and SIL. Not sure if the step son will be able to get off but we'll do what we want and try to have a little fun. Trying to decide on gift giving has been interesting. So get a load of this. Everyone will buy themselves a gift they want. They will be given a brown bag so all look the same then we'll pass out and open the gifts. Then you have to try to guess who bought what gift. Each will have a list and write down what they think. Oh, and everyone will throw $5 into a pot. So then whoever guesses the most correctly, gets the $$. Guessing like 7 of us so will be interesting but at least all will go home with a gift they wanted since they bought it for themselves. No one wanted to exchange giftcards or draw names. The little kids will all be spoiled. I also got stockings and will fill the little ones and put a few things in the grown kids. I even bought a 2nd tree so Ava and I will be putting that up next week when she is here on Black Friday while mama works. She'll have so much fun. More cookie dough will be made and she and Kellan want to make a date to come over and bake with me. Kason is quite ready at 18 months. Lots to do for sure including the yearly calendars. DH will work on getting photos together so we can go through them next week. This has turned into a yearly thing which all enjoy.

I get out of cooking for Thanksgiving. My older son and wife offered to cook and invited us. Things have changed a bit as her family was going to come but that's another story. So it will just be a few of us including, most likely, my ex and maybe his wife but she is dealing with a dad whose not well so she is spending most of her time there. We'll see if he shows. Always interesting as he's always drunk. I'm just glad I don't have to cook and already handed off the turkey so I'm free!!! LOL

Now I need to scoot and get another load of laundry done as I'm in the midst of packing. I apologize for being MIA.

Have a great evening!

Tammy believe it or not I have never roasted cauliflower but I have a nice head in the frig so that may get done. We are having leftovers tonight cleaning out the frig so we can start over.

I got some really brightly colored walking shoes last year in Texas and really love them. They definitely cheer me up and I have had lots of compliments on them. I hope to find some more this year. They were in the bargain room at Academy Sports

Weez2 I have been madly working on a cable neck scarf for my son so I can give it to him Friday. Then I want to make some more wide sewn headbands for his fiancť. After that it is back to projects for me again.

LG I know changing your schedule to accommodate you hair dresser was a pain. But also know I would find a way to work around the change. A girl just has to get her hair done. Sounds like you are busy watching games. I hope Thomas was able to get the faucet on tight enough

Sharon I bought a diabetic cookbook for my brother before he passed and I need to look through it just to see what kind of recipes I might find to use. You are doing great adjusting to what you can and canít eat. Iím excited for DS too. They are leaving this weekend driving to Ohio to meet her family. He is nervous. Iím more nervous about the weather for their drive I know they will like him.

Morning!
Once again we are dealing with issues with Bailey. When Norm took her for a walk yesterday morning, she sneezed and it started her nose bleeding. It bled off and on most of the day. Finally in the evening, we called our vet who surprisingly was in his office doing paperwork. He said bring her in. After an exam (no chrg) he referred us to the Emergency Vet Care for tests that he couldn't do in his office. We went and were there for three hours. After that vet examined her, she suggested $675. worth of diagnostic tests. That didn't include any followup tests or treatment. Plus, it cost us $100 just to walk through the doors. In the end, we brought her home. At her advanced age, we decided to just see what happens. Norm talked to our vet this morning and he agreed that all the tests are looking for either Lyme disease (from a tick) or cancer and neither one would be easy to treat and both would be very expensive. We don't believe she has been exposed to ticks so that leaves cancer. So we will take it one day at a time. Needless to say, we are both very concerned as no one wants to lose a beloved pet.

Thus starts a whole new week here in the resort. Our temps are also cool (no snow though) and it is very windy here in AZ.

LG - so sorry for the water explosion. What a mess! Good thing it was only water and nothing to stain. I hope Thomas got the faucet back on tight!

Weezie2 - I'm glad you were feeling well enough to visit your mom. It's so easy to spread things in a nursing home so I'm sure your cautiousness was appreciated.

Tammy - you always used Spark Recipes to keep you motivated while losing so I made a low fat low sugar banana bread yesterday. I get tired of not having some of my favorites. This recipe was good for a diabetic, only 140 calories for 1/8 of the loaf which is a big piece of banana bread. It is a recipe I will make again using whole wheat flour and eggbeaters!

PJ - I'm glad to hear your DS and his fiancee are still together. Everyone has issues so hopefully they have worked through theirs, especially with the boys getting attached to your son and you!

Good Monday Morning!! Well, it has already been a "different" type of day here. Got up, exercised as usual, went to the gym with snow on the ground, came home. Thomas was going to clean up his dishes from breakfast when the large faucet on the kitchen sink decided to pop off! Water everywhere!! All down my cabinets and on the new hardwood floor. Did get it all cleaned up and then I went to chapel alone. He did get the faucet back on but we aren't sure it is tight enough.

We got about 2" of snow and the sun is now out and shining brightly! emoticon The wind has died down also. That is a help.

I was supposed to get my highlights done this morning but the gal texted me and asked me to come at 1 p.m. So I guess I'll have to rearrange my schedule.

Carmen's team won their game yesterday and beat a team they have never beaten! She scored 4 points again. She played up also on the 6th grade team. But didn't play much and didn't score. We have 2 games on Wed. night....Carmen and Brooke both play.

Got to get my church ironing done early so that I can get it back over there. Need to start packing up the suitcase!! 3 1/2 days to go!!

emoticon to everyone!!

Good morning, another chilly day here. If we're lucky we'll reach a high of 21.

My sewing room looks so much better. I should have it done today. Then I need to start finishing my UFO's. So many projects that could easily get incorporated with our craft fairs.

I knitted another infinity scarf yesterday watching the Packer game. The started out the season not looking so good. I'm not sure what lit a fire under them but they looked really good their last few games.

I actually feel well enough to visit mom tonight. My cold settled in my lungs and now that the cough is gone I feel like I won't share it with the residents. That would not be a good thing at their ages.

Have a Great Monday!

Hi, Seesters!

I did find myself enjoying a basically relaxing day again yesterday! emoticon

WG, I find myself smiling about my purple coat and multicolored shoes, too! The school colors of the last high school where I worked before retirement were black and white, so understandably I have a lot of black and white. [I didn't know Jamie Lee Curtis had B&W mostly for years...] I even gravitate toward black and white five years later, so I think the shoes - which are most visible in my workplace once the coat is off - are quite the standout. How was the pumpkin chocolate Bundt cake? DB's birthday is Thursday and I am trying to think of something to take him before the weekend is out. That might be just the thing!

Fortunately we got only about an inch of snow, and no slick roads - areas an hour north and an hour east were not so fortunate.

PJ, I think it might be chicken breasts here tonight. I have some pickled beets that DH and I would enjoy, and a cauliflower that might call to be roasted. I think you just helped me pick the dinner menu!

Have a very good day, Seesters! Hello to all!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Quiet day here just knitting and watching football. We did not get the snow that they predicted so all we have is a dusting.

Youngest DS and his family stopped over yesterday for a bit. I am sure crazy about his future family and future wife. Those two boys have stolen my heart big time. They are 6 and 9.

I will be cooking chicken breasts today not sure what veggies we will have with them. We had baked salmon last night.

Sharon no grilling out here. I like to eat out in places where you can check out nutritional info ahead of time so you are prepared and already know what you are going to order. Applebees have some nice lo cal dishes. BTW I never heard of pillow speakers before that is interesting.

HI to the rest of my seesters.

WG - I actually have a pillow with a speaker in it. Just plug it in to the radio and I'm all set. I can hear it perfectly but no one else can (Norm!). I usually go to sleep listening to talk radio (I set the timer for 30 mins) but some nights I have trouble sleeping and have to turn it back on. I have used my pillow speaker for years and it works well for me as long as I have a radio with a head set port.

Well, here it is afternoon. THought I'd get here earlier but got all my laundry done! Bed is remade and towels are done. Now to get the last load out of the dryer. Even made a grocery run.

Want to wish TB a very emoticon ! Hope it is a great day!!

WG, your meal sounds wonderful! Enjoy!!

SS, emoticon emoticon on your 13.6 lb loss! You have inspired me. I've been eating way too much. Saw a picture of myself the other day and I was appalled at the way I looked. So I've gotten back on track. I'm tracking all my food and staying in the low range of my calorie range. And I totally agree that some salads can be horrible on the diet!

Tammy, hope that you have a relaxing day again today.

PJ, emoticon

Judy, emoticon

Weezie2, those UFOs can really pile up! I know where you are coming from!!

Weezie, just think this is the week!! I'm getting everything packed up and ready to head out on Thursday afternoon!

Now we are off the ball games!!

Good morning Seesters. Another cold one. I'm missing the fireplace I didn't buy because budget wouldn't let me yet. Still hoping before the winter is over.

LG, glad the games went well. Hope today's go well also.

Weezie2, what a fun picture. Kami is a cutie for sure.

SS, I gave up my alarm clock entirely but I do charge my phone while I'm sleeping. It is the best way for me. Do you use the headphones every night? WTG making smart choices and being successful. I'm glad you are figuring out how to make this work.

Tammy, glad yesterday was renewing. I'm glad your visits with DD were positive. Even when they are "perfect" our kids don't always or even often do the things we think they should.

Hope today is fun for you as well. I'm thinking about you in your purple coat and cute shoes. The idea gives me a smile.

Church then dinner today. We're having ham. I'll put it in the crock pot soon and we'll be eating together. I'm not cooking in 2 weeks and maybe not again until Boxing Day which is a little over a month away. I thought we'd eat well today.

I found a recipe for a bundt pumpkin cake with chocolate that I'm going to try as well. Hope it all works out.

Have a great day all.

Morning!
My clock radio quit charging my iPhone. Norm took it apart and it isn't to be fixed. So I bought a new one, got it home and it doesn't have a head set port which I need. So that radio will have to go back. Then I went to Target and they carry the one like I had so I purchased another one. It' is almost impossible to get one with the head set port anymore! Oh well, I should be OK for awhile again.

Norm wanted to go out for a nice dinner yesterday so I suggested Applebee's as they have the low cal selections. He got his Spinach and Shrimp Salad and I got the Napa Chicken & Portobellos. He commented that mine dinner looked like more calories than his salad. I verified the Nutrition and he was surprised his salad had 1,000 calories where my meal had 490 calories. Just goes to show a salad isn't always low calorie! BTW, I stayed in my range and my weight was even down again this morning!

Today Norm is experimenting with cooking ribs on the grill, a first for him. We will have the ribs, cole slaw and butternut squash. It's all OK with portion control.

Weezie2 - what a cute picture of Kami to wake up to. The snow I wouldn't like at all.

Tammy - you earned a laid back day after last week's busyness! Why not enjoy another today!

LG - another day on the run with BB games, how fun!

I woke up to snow on the ground....brrr Chell just text me a picture of Kami. She decided she was cold when she woke up so put on her bathrobe that Kelly made her and her minion hat to stay warm. Had to laugh she looked so cute.

I made quite a lot of progress in my sewing room yesterday. I should have it finished in a another day or 2. It was so out of hand and I only have myself too blame. It's way to easy to just put things in there instead of where they belong.

I need to get out in my garage and pack up things from the last yard sale. I want to be able to park inside instead of brushing snow off my car.

Have a Great Sunday. I'm off to get some things done before I get caught up with the Packer game later today.

Hello, Seesters!

WG, yes, DD got her car back on Friday, so Chauffeur Mom duties are over. I am thankful for some "normal" moments with her. I mainly listened and didn't have to bite my tongue too much. emoticon

It was such a nice laid-back day yesterday. Perhaps today will be as well.

Have a good one!

I'm just getting here! Carmen had a ball game and we went. They won and she scored 4 points. We were very happy. I haven't read the posts so I'll just be back tomorrow. She has another 2 games tomorrow but I'll have time in the morning before we leave. So I'll see y'all then.

I'm taking a break from cleaning my sewing room. I can't believe all the UFO's ... that has to remedied asap. Too much sewing for the craft fairs and not for me. emoticon

I woke up to frost on the ground. I am so not ready for the inevitable.

Have a Great Saturday. I'm back to see what else I can get done before I go to church later today.

Good morning Seesters. It is a cold and gray morning so I'm puttering and not very fast. I need to get moving. Have some groceries (non perishible) in bags on the floor and need to get ready for dinner tomorrow. I'd love to do a ham so I might. I usually save them for holidays but am hankering and need an idea for something fun.

Got everything yesterday except paint so I do need to make a run today. Did Walmart and I can really relate LG. Found lots of fun things.

DS came by yesterday to tell me Enterprise at his six month check up had lost weight! Apparently he is the only child exclusively fed breast milk and he lost weight from 4-6 months. He was small at 4 months. He has been hungry and I've encouraged his parents to feed him more and a greater variety but they have resisted. No more. They are feeding him and he is enjoying it. They had to buy some supplement to put in the breast milk to give him more calories. This is one of those things they need to resolve on their own but I wish I could shake them a bit.

Princess Purple has been asked to test for a gifted program in the school district. Cinderella tested last year and didn't qualify. 1st grade is young to be considered for singling out. Cinderella's parents both were in gifted programs of sorts. Her mother skipped second grade and her father was asked to. Instead he went to the gifted program 4-6 grades. This is my "prickly" DIL's child and it will be a challenge if she is accepted and decides to attend. DS and I have been discussing some of the difficulties and opportunities.

Tammy, sounds like a perfect day for you today. I'm glad you are doing some very fun things for you. It really helps boost the spirit when you take care of you. Is DD done with her transportation needs? It is nice to even get a few words of visiting in when you take her places and I'm sure you have learned a bit about her life again. At least some of the good parts.

SS, congrats on the weight loss! Your sugars will be coming down and you SHOULD feel a lot better. Your other reading will be dropping as well in a month or so with that kind of progress. That's a size roughly. You will need new ones very soon.

PJ, I don't blame you for staying home and not going anywhere. It is so nasty when it is stormy.

LG, I feel bad you needed to pay for a dry. I had the same thing happen. Went out in wet hair. I was going straight home so I turned on the heat and just went home. My hair so so curly after I wash it it doesn't look the same anyway.

Have a great day all. Off to get some ham hopefully and then the fixings for dinner. I don't want to work too hard on dinner so I'll see what I can do.

Good morning. We are still awaiting the snow to arrive but they have downgraded it to only 1-2Ē which is alright with me. But it is cold.

Sharon sorry to say I had a gain this week. Iíll do better this week. The Canadians will appreciate Normís getting their site ready. What a guy.

Tammy I had a bazaar I was going to attend this weekend but decided not to go with the weather forecast unless I change my mind and go tomorrow. But that is doubtful.

Morning!
Another happy WI for me! I lost another 2.4 lbs this week. Makes my total loss in our challenge at 13.6 lbs in five weeks. BUT, I'm not the only one doing great. Our team, The Festive Bells is still going strong. SEK is losing well and I hope she's glad she joined us!

Today is a little cooler for us. The highs will only be low 70's. After the 80-90 temps, I actually feel cold and put jeans on today. It is perfect weather to get out and get a nice walk in. I love to check out all the decorations people put out this time of year. Some are celebrating fall and Thanksgiving while others are already putting out Christmas decorations!

Our neighbors across the street are on their way here from Canada so Norm is over cleaning out their site this morning. He's sweeping and washing down their driveway so it looks presentable when they arrive.

After what seems like weeks of "going", DH and I will be here in town and not out farther this weekend. I am ready! I plan to go to a church holiday bazaar and visit our local Hallmark to see what might impress me to use my Gold Crown rewards on. There aren't many, so it will likely be a card/box of cards.

And the She Cave is calling me....as well as a trial run for DH and a bit for me of the Gift in a Jar that I have planned for part of the family bags for Christmas this year.

LG, Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good is done. As always, I enjoyed it. I first thought my favorite part was when Father Tim held the service at his former church - that impressed me as being healing for the church. Later, I was quite impressed with his dealings with Henry, which of course is part of that whole story of possible redemption. And, I laughed so hard when I ready the "gravy on our biscuits" line - I really enjoy her characterization of Father Tim. It likely has something to do with the fact that my GF, my former FIL, and DH were all ministers. emoticon

I finished my Christmas shopping today and have it all wrapped. Keep in mind we only have 3 little ones to buy for and we do a gift exchange for the adults. So really not much to buy.

Went to dads today as the weather forecast for tomorrow is for snow. Now I can just stay inside if it is snowing. Got his humidifier going after getting the filters and additive. Also went to CVS and bought all his toiletries etc that he needed. It looks like I may have to do some laundry for him. He is washing is undies but doesnít appear he is washing any of his clothes. He has been having me write his checks for bills now too. So he is failing a bit more.

DH decided it was too cold to go hunting but if the temps warm a bit he may still go later. Oh well some years are like that.

Weez and LG I so look forward to hearing about your retreat. It is so good you two can get together and enjoy your quilting together.

To the rest of my Seesters hope you are having a wonderful Friday.

I'm back....went to get a few things at Wal-Mart...you know how that is. Didn't get out with just a few things!! Then made some cookies and went to get my hair cut. Not real happy with the gal who cut it. She got my hair wet (which is fine) cut it and then was going to send me out with wet hair. It is 30 degrees here!! Is she nuts??? This is the same gal who has been cutting my hair for almost 45 years. It asked her to dry it. She did but charged me more. Maybe she is wanting me to quit coming there!

Sharon, I read the book Unbroken. It was riveting. The movie will be hard to watch if they tell it like it was. Not sure how he survived all of that.

WG, some times it is good to be alone for a while. Hope that you got lots done.

Better run....

Good morning Seesters. It is overcast and cold this morning. I'm alone so I'll leave in a few minutes to run errands. Need to pay off safe deposit box for another year, get some more paint, a haircut is in order if I have time, and I'm off to Walmart to find knee socks and tights to make clothing for the dolls this Christmas.

Sis texted me this week and wants to hurry along the sale of the house. She wants me to call one of the people who wanted to buy but we wouldn't compromise (not my decision) and offer a lower price but no change on the compromise position that held them off. I'm all for a realtor at this point to sell the house and get it done. I still need to get some fertilizer and bedframes and a picnic table from the house.

Tammy, love your fun gifts. Both to yourself and from your hubby. I'm glad your experiences with DD are going well. It is hard and I'm sure you are both on "best behavior" but it helps if the experience is positive.

Weezie, a new backsplash will make a huge difference in your kitchen. I hope you find something fun. The best part is they are supposed to be much easier to do than they used to.

LG, I'm glad the headache is better. I hope you find all you need to take and remember the "important" things.

SS, My DIL read the book and will see the movie. It is very hard but the man really had a remarkable life and only recently died. I do understand not wanting difficult things in your mind or life. I felt the same about a few movies I have seen.

I'm off to be busy. So much to do and I have a day to myself so I don't want to waste it.

Have a great day.

Morning! I had a terrific headache for some reason last night so I went to bed early. I just wanted to lay in a dark quiet room. I took some Excedrin PM and I eventually fell asleep. This morning it is gone and I'm happy!

Today I have to go do laundry among other chores. Life in the resort is wonderful but stuff like laundry and other woman's work follow us here.

LG - I used to love to go to the school's basketball games, especially when our son was on the team. I know you enjoy going as well. You and Weezie are going to have so much fun on your retreat, looking forward to hearing about it. As for Fury, I would never have gone to see it if I had a better understanding of what it was all about. I just knew it was a war story. In Dec. another movie, Unbroken is coming out. Directed by Angelina Jolie. It's about an Olympic Hero being captured by the Japanese in WWII. The previews were shown yesterday and I will NOT be going to see that movie either. It's based on a true story but it will be another difficult movie to watch.

Weezie - so glad you were able to hand that project off to the auditor! Now you can get ready for that fun filled retreat with Pat. Norm wants to redo our backsplash at our home in MI but I put him off until next summer. I do like the new ceramic tile back splashes out right now. I'll be curious to see what you pick.

TGIF!!!! Love the weekend! Although, we have 2 bb games this weekend. Got up with a stopped up head and felt a bit "lopsided"! But did my work out and now feeling much better.
Plan to do some baking today...cookies and coffee cake for Thanksgiving weekend.

Weezie, I started yesterday getting things together and packed up for next week!! I'm so excited and can't wait for next Thursday! I'm making a check list so that I don't forget my clothes this year!! emoticon I don't know what happened to me last year.

Sharon, I read some reviews of that movie and I would not watch it. My MIL and uncle were both in WW2 and both told horror stories and I've heard a few from Thomas. Don't want to watch that....even with Brad Pitt!!

emoticon to everyone and I'll try to get back. I need to get my a$$ in gear! I can just hear TB..... emoticon emoticon

Good morning to you all and HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Well to day the project will be handed off to the auditor. We had to finalize at the State on Wednesday so now to just double check I have all things on the zip drive to go along with few actual printed documents and take it over. I'm happy it is done but now something new is rising to the top and it is busy work but a new contract for one of the groups so my boss thinks we have to write everyone a letter laying it out. It is in the frickin contract but whatever. I'm hopeful once she leaves, and I've no doubt it is coming as she has headhunters calling, that they can see that this is not necessary. Time will tell!!

Anyway, just trying to wrap up some things and get my things together for retreat next week with Pat. I have two short weeks coming and happy about it. Both November and December will give additional time home. After the 13th of December, our holidays with the kids will be over and we can relax and just enjoy the time off. So many projects, so little time. I want to rip out the backsplash in my little kitchen and replace it. We're gonna do it ourselves but now to decide on what color, if any. Likely neutral but something newer as what is there is so outdated.

Had our first snowfall yesterday and I forgot my boots and scraper. ACK! I'm better prepared today. Haven't even looked to see if we got more snow as predicted last night. SS, enjoy the warmer temps.

Okay ladies, need to scoot. Wishing you all a lovely day and weekend!!

OK - here's my movie review: it was so very hard to sit through and watch this movie! I'm sure it was true and war is so ugly. I'm glad I got to see it but I pray I never have to see or experience anything like it. Brad Pitt made it bearable and his acting was superb

When we had our Vet's Day Ceremony they asked Vet's of WWII to stand. There is only a handful left in our resort but after seeing Fury, I want to hug everyone and thank them for their service all over again.

Just want say emoticon . We went to St. Bartholomew's school for a Veteran's Day tribute. It was so awesome and moving. At the end they played Taps and the tears just streamed. There was a little 4th grader who sang Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA". I swear if you closed your eyes you would have thought she was an adult. It was just fantastic. Then they served us breakfast and I mean everything. I had an egg and sausage casserole that was so good!! I talked to one of the ladies and she said she'd get me the recipe!!

Just finished Rachel's tree skirt and now I'm packing up the sewing room for the retreat! Which is one week from today!! WOOHOO!!

Got to the fitness center again this morning. So have been better about getting in exercise this week. I have a banquet to go tonight and need to stay strong with my eating tonight.

I will go to dads tomorrow just in case the weather is too bad for me to go on Saturday. They are predicting 2-4Ē of snow on Saturday and since I havenít driven the car yet in winter weather I want to be cautious. Thatís when I will miss my 4 wheel drive Jimmy.

Judy congrats on the bonus. That was a nice surprise.

Tammy hope the meds got set up for DB. DH is surprising you with gifts That is nice and you got something else purple. Yea

Sharon let us know what you think about the movie. Brad Pitt will make it watchable. So are you staying totally away from carbs such as bread, potatoes, rice etc? Whatever you are doing seems to be working for you.

I bought 3 books last week when I was at Staples. They were 3/$9.99 so couldnít pass them up. Never heard of the books or the authors but sounded interesting. They will go with me to Texas

I got the blue shawl blocked and dried and now have the off white one drying. The blue one really came out nice. Not sure about the 2nd one. It isnít as big and is a lot more lacier.

Morning!
We have plans to go with another couple for an early lunch and then to see the movie, Fury. I'm not excited about a war movie but how bad can it be with Brad Pitt in it. I get to stumble around my diabetic diet in the restaurant. It's so much easier at home. If I lived alone I wouldn't go out to eat but I can't penalize Norm as everyone knows he's Mr. Social and loves to go out with friends. He skipped the Veteran's party for me so I'll go and find something I can eat.

It's a little overcast here this morning which in itself is unusual but I'm not complaining after here the cold and snow others are dealing with. Our neighbors in Logan Estates bombarded my emails with pictures of our house and theirs with all the snow they got overnight. I'm glad I don't have snow to shovel!

Good morning,

This past weekend craft fairs were good.I was at the one at the nursing home so we had more people looking. The other one at the senior center had more people buying and they had bigger sales, Usually there's enough venders to find what you're looking for. It's always fun seeing what other people create. It's hard to tell what will sell. What sells at one isn't what sells at the next. We have a break for a couple of weeks then we have 2 more to finish up the year.

I'll be busy cleaning again today. Have a great Thursday!

Hi, Seesters!

SS, DD was supposed to be here until sometime Saturday originally, but she has esurance and their projected finish date is Tuesday, so we shall see. I am getting things done with my wait time, so it is good on that point as well. I am impressed with her juggling of work/orientation/classes at two different campuses. She has esurance, and there are pictures of her car repairs in progress on the internet, which is pretty interesting.

DH has surprised me with two different Downton Abbey gifts - a teeshirt [purple!] with a Downton logo, and a book about the "history" really behind the series. It has been fun to be surprised with them.

DB's home health nurse came yesterday for a first visit, and will be back on Friday. I do hope to hear that his meds are arranged for the next week.

Judy, way to go on that bonus!

LG, only a few pages read on Somewhere Good...didn't take it with me during waiting times, as I am still working on work-related things...I have about 100 pages to go.

PJ, I am very excited to see photos!

WG, emoticon

Weezie2, how did the craft fairs go? Are people buying? There is a local one this weekend that I may try to get to. DD is bunking in the She Cave as there is a futon in there, so I am not interrupting her to do anything right now.

Hello to everyone! Have a good day!

Our internet has been down most of the day guess it didn't like the change in temps! LOL!!

Thanks for the things you all say about Joshua it is appreciated. He is a great kid even if he is mine and I hear it all the time from people around town and it does make me feel good.

I know Mike is going to enjoy this job, he came home for lunch and said he is already a supervisor because he has a young man working under him. This the second day on the job, wish I could get promoted as quickly!

I did get good news today. I was called into the office and told I was getting a $100 bonus from the company for my safe driving, my willingness to work whenever and where ever and an A+ in customer service comments. Sometimes it pays to say the bad things to people when they are out of ear shot! LOL!!

Weez I feel for you and your job, been there done that, and so glad I haven't had to go back to it.

I love Kohl's but I never seem to be able to shop when they are giving out cash or when I do get cash it expires before I need to go back. The closest one to us is 90 minutes.

Better go I have more catching up to do.

Just got back from my knitting group and now have one of the shawls stretch drying. After that I will attempt to stretch dry the other one and get some pictures for you to see.

I know I have been lax about checking in again. But all is well here. I have been going to the fitness center and doing a bit of walking with Leslie. Franks leaving to go hunting again so will have more time (I hope) to get outside and walk again.

The cold temps arrived so yesterday I made a pot of home made tomato soup and today I have noodles drying for a pot of beef and noodles soup for tonight. Also made some home made bread yesterday (using a bread machine) thatís the only way I make bread.

Sharon glad you got some new tops from Ruthann. I always loved getting hand me downs or bargains at thrift stores. You wonít be able to wear them long the way you are losing weight.

SEK glad Mike found a job that will keep him busy and that he will enjoy.

LG glad you were able to get the chair and at Ĺ price that is even better. Sorry about the tire issue but so glad you were not hurt and didnít have a blow out causing a wreck. Its nice that someone stopped to help Thomas especially since it was raining. Good Samaritanís do exist.

Tammy glad to hear you drove the RV which is something I still have not done and not sure I will even though I should. Glad that you made some progress with both your family and Joeís family. Just take everything a day at a time. It does sound like DD is making some progress especially with schooling and work.

WG sounds like the painting is coming along and soon all your renovations will be in the past and you can just enjoy all the new in your house. Be smart and donít wait to long on that knee surgery and I understand about wanting it done somewhere besides where you work. Hospitals are like Peyton Place everyone knows about everyone.

Good Morning!
Our resort always does the Veteran's Day Celebration to the hilt. Yesterday was no exception. It started with a Fly Over sharply at 11AM.
The things I especially enjoyed were the Drill Team presentations
They also did a explanation of the Battlefield Cross. It is a helmet, rifle and boots forming a battle cross for a fallen soldier.
Our indoor program included our own Swinging Resorters (swing band) who played and told the History of the Music of WWII
And I liked the Ceremony for the Table For One to honor our POW/MIA's

Today is a whole new day! I'm happy as I got my new debit cards in the mail yesterday. My account has been compromised so they had to issue new cards.

LG - so sorry poor Thomas had to change the tire in the rain but thank the Lord someone was there to help him. Enjoy your baking today!

Weezie2 - why am I not surprised you bought for Kami and your son but nothing for yourself!

Tammy - I'm glad Zach has made it home from Afghanistan. Veteran's Day was a special day for your family. How long with DD be living with you and you chauffeuring her around. At least you're getting a good idea of how she's doing.

WG - it is difficult when you are having trouble with your knees, especially in the job you do as you are on your feet so much. I know you will make the right decision for you and when time, will make the decision to have surgery.

Hello, Ladies!

Weezie2, I don't usually find much in Kohl's. I don't know why. But I just feel like there is so much and it gets overwhelming! But you still made out like a bandit!!

Tammy, so glad that "things" are working out for your DD. It's always hard with you throw something "different" into your normal routine. You are doing very well. How is your BP? Mine has gone up some but doctor upped one of meds. They told me to wait about a week before I start taking it again. Have you finished the book? If so, what did you think of it?

WG, that is awesome about the local scouts. I understand about having the surgery at a hospital that you work in. I had to have a D & C when I worked at our hospital. It was like everyone knew everything. Don't wait too long though....the doctor that is doing my hand surgery said that I almost did. He said that it makes everything harder.

SS, have you met many new friends? Sounds like you have adjusted very well. Glad that you are enjoying yourself.

Judy, that is an ideal job for Mike. And you can be very proud of Joshua. He is becoming an adult and accepting responsibility!

Got all my ironing done. Now to get it back to the church and then get home and start some baking for Thanksgiving weekend. Monday night, Luke called and wanted Thomas to come up on Thursday for a Veterans Day celebration at St. Bartholomew's. Of course, he said he would and he said he'd bring me with him. Luke responded "I'm not sure that Gramma is allowed to come"!! We almost died laughing. Jason got on the phone and told us that I was to come along! There will be a Mass and then breakfast. It will be very nice I'm sure. Now got to go.

I actually walked out of Kohl's with nothing for me. I had $40 in free money plus my 30% off so my son got his winter boots and a few holiday outfits for Kami for less than his boot were marked originally. I was in there Monday to see what they had. Of course they raised the price Tuesday to compensate for the 30%. Grr.... still a good deal.

I'm off to get cleaning my house. The holidays will be here before we know it.

Have a Great Wednesday

Hi, Seesters! Chauffeur Mom here...

I think yesterday went well; today will be a bit busier and not quite into our normal home schedule, but it will work and be okay. It is all getting done. It is enjoyable to hear DD talk about work things; I have a bit better idea of her responsibilities after listening to SD over the past few years as she is a nurse as well. Yes, WG, I think there will most likely always be areas that are out of sync, but she does appear to take her nursing responsibilities very seriously.

SS, a private Treasure Lake FB group posted pics of the Veteran's Parade they did on the park, but it is nothing compared to what you described. Very nice indeed. I enjoyed all the sharing done here about Veteran's Day. Step-GS Zach did indeed get home from Afghanistan last weekend, and we are very thankful for that. There were some snafus after he got back to the states and he didn't get to come home with his group, but he is indeed home now, so that is good.

LG, isn't it great to get bargains! I really want to find a bargain on the style of boots that I think I want. I need to actually go shopping for them first, of course. emoticon My new purple coat worked out very well yesterday. I did kind of smile with it on even with the darn cold air. Are you selling your baskets through a consignment store? I have always wanted some. I have a couple of nicer baskets - I have forgotten the company, but not Longaberger. I may start looking for some. Boots, and baskets emoticon Glad you had help with the tire. We had a similar incident on the Will Rogers Turnpike years ago, and an Oklahoma state trooper helped us.

WG, I have a cousin who has just about finished PT after her knee replacement and is quite happy with having had it done now that she is on the other side of it. She maintained with injections for quite some time, but I know you know far more about that than I do. I do like my new Alegrias; one of my friends at work noticed that I forgot to wear them on Monday though. After the big weekend of driving the RV, I guess that I had forgotten that I had them! Silly me!

Weezie2, did you have fun shopping at Kohl's? I really like to visit Kohl's, but I don't very often because their parking situation is so very bad in the shopping center where the store is located. There have been many wrecks there.

Well, off to visit another thread...have a good day, Seesters.

Hi Seesters. It was a fun day. More fronts in the kitchen. Had the grands and saw 8 of them today which is nice.

The local scout troop puts flags out in the neighborhood for a fundraiser. $25 per year gets it out on all the "flag flying" holidays. It is fun. At 11:11 and 11 seconds this morning we had a moment of silence. I remember my father and father in law who fought in WWII. My ex served in the military during peacetime. One brother served as well. I do understand many of the sacrifices that were made. Some of my fondest memories are of my FIL telling us stories of the war and returning home. He often did this Christmas Eve. It was great fun.

LG, glad you got the chair and have the baskets to be sold. Sorry about the tire. What a blessing to have someone there help you. I'm so glad that you were protected and blessed today.

SS, it was just a strange thought. I know you have two homes and it makes perfect sense to have two of most things so you don't have to load and unload. It is nice to have some new things to wear. How is the walking going?

Tammy, I'm glad you are getting some time with DD. It is a good plan to be neutral and supportive. Sounds like you have found a "safe rhythm" with her. She sounds like parts of her life are going well. She may always struggle with other things, but holding a job is a good statement of her character. How are you liking your new shoes? Many of our nurses wear them and like them.

Weezie2, hope you found good boots.

Yes, Tammy, my knee is bothering me more than normal. I expect I'll need to take care of it sometime in the not too distant future but have some things I need to have in place before that happens. House has been a big problem and headache and when it is finished, there are the holidays. There is some stuff I need to do health wise before I address the knees although I'm strongly considering some steroid injections. I'm also somewhat unwilling to be treated at my hospital. Not that the nurses are bad or unfriendly but because I don't like my business made that public.

Off to have dinner then bed. Have a good night all.

Well, we are finally home from picking up the chair. We left here this morning and we drove my Jeep. We met my sister and dropped off the Longaberger baskets to the consignment store and then had lunch. Ate way too much.... emoticon Then we went to Talbots as I had a coupon for $20 off! So I got a great pair of shoes and they fit wonderfully. Left there and went back and loaded the chair and took off. Got about 25 miles from our home and the low tire light came on. So Thomas stopped and looked at it. It wasn't just low, it was flat! It was raining to boot! Temps dropping and that poor man had to change that tire. We were off the interstate due to construction. So we were in "no man's land"! But some man saw us and got Thomas a floor jack and helped him pull the tire off and get the spare on. It was low on air but he had a portable air compressor. Can't help but believe that God was there with us! We decided to come on home and not go to Carmen's bb game. Did get back here before the tire store closed and they found a piece of metal that had gone all the way thru the tire and was laying on the inside! The tire store didn't have a tire that fit the Jeep (big tires!) so the spare is back on and they will have a tire tomorrow. Mean time I'll be driving Thomas' truck!!

Now I'm going to go relax on the couch! See y'all tomorrow.

Happy Veteran's Day! Thank you to all who have served and are serving our country! We truly wouldn't be the country we are today without all of you!

Our resort especially honors this special day. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we have a special Flag raising ceremony outside our courtyard followed by a program in the Ball Room. It is always well attended and we are happy to share in it again this year.

WG - Most of the stuff (clothes especially) remain in our MH year round so what I cleaned out yesterday are clothes that have been in here for 2-3 years and no longer fit me properly. Now everything fits and I'm able to wear with the exception of one cupboard where I have all the tops that are a tad bit too small yet.

Weezie2 - sounds like a smart day to take advantage of the coupon especially with the boots on sale, you should get a great deal!

Tammy - I'm sure your DD appreciates you carting her around. She is a very lucky lady whether she realizes it or not.

SEK - it's sounds like your DH found a perfect retirement job! I hope he enjoys it.

LG - speaking of sales and good deals, it sounds like you got a wonderful deal on the chair. We would love to see a picture of it!
