We are home and unpacked. Norm is about ready to give Nala her weekly bath and I'm about to do an exercise dvd.

PJ - I see you read my blog. I haven't looked at the comments yet. Don't beat yourself up too much. We all fall but we get back up, dust ourselves off and start over again! I am done eating for the day and I've had 1078 calories and 17 carb grams. I am on induction again so I can't go over 20. I'm off to a good start to getting back on track. Although I still have to drink 16 more oz of water to meet my goal today.

LG - I hope you are getting some rest today after the large funeral yesterday. Now it sounds like you have a couple more this week! They say it happens in 3's.

I know I have been scarce. Just a bit down on myself right now. Yes I have been getting in my steps but the eating hasnít been good. I went to the birthday party yesterday and had a hot dog with bun, chips and cake and ice cream the only healthy thing I ate was some fresh melon.

So like Sharonís blog I am starting again with low carb.

LG you are having a string of funerals hope you continue to have help with the dinners

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

It's a sign. Had a half a response made but it was lost. Darn mouse.

I've got the grands here and the baby is fussy. DS is spread thin.

Have a wonderful time everyone.

Got home from the funeral dinner to get a phone call the Rachel's boss' mom's funeral will be Tuesday in the evening. We are planning for 150 people. Was told today that another lady is very close to dying and her's could be later this week. I'm really doing the penance this week!! We had 300 today and it was not stop from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Very tired. See y'all tomorrow.

I woke up to it raining so we decided that we would just go to the farmers market another day. The rain will make the weeds easier to pull tomorrow emoticon

I'm not sure if we'll be going to mass tonight or tomorrow. Either way works fine with me. I'm just catching up with a few projects so I can get moving on some other ones I'd like to get done too.

Have a Great Saturday!

Good Morning!
Today is our last day here and I'm not sure what we'll do. We have explored everything we wanted to and then some. Nala is so dirty we are both looking forward to getting her home for a bath tomorrow. It rained most of the night but no rain this morning. However, the sky is grey again with no sun. It just feels like fall. Too early for this weather. It may be a long, cold winter.

Tammy - that is really good news (I think!) Your SD will enjoy a duplex over the apartment and DD will enjoy a place of her own as well. Sounds like a win/win situation. I just hope it's not too much work for you or Joe. There comes a time when our guys just can't lift and move stuff like they used to.

Weezie2 - I'm glad you are enjoying so much one on one time with Kami. Once they get active in school, they don't have as much time for Grandma. At least that's what happened with me. Perhaps it will be different with you.

WG - I hope you get someone to do the basement for you. That sounds like a decent size job. Norm could be really busy at our park if he wanted to. Several people have complained that they can't get anyone to do repairs as they are too small. I don't think Norm will be working as much when we get back. He's neglected our own yard and he needs to start getting things done as it's only a few more weeks before we leave for the winter.

LG - Wow! A couple of stressful days taking care of the funeral meals. I know how very much it is appreciated though and I'm sure they are very thankful.

Hi, Seesters!

No sewing machine yet - but I didn't dedicate any time to finding it yesterday, just thinking/talking about it...unfortunately, that didn't help me to win the Find the Sewing Machine Game.

Today we are helping SD move into a duplex the next street over from the apartment where she lives. In a couple of weeks, DD will be moving into the apartment where SD lived. I sure hope she lives there a couple of years as SD did, not necessarily because she would be close, but because there would be a physical place SHE made payments on for some amount of time. SD is leaving some things that Jenny will "inherit" as she doesn't have much - a bed, a love seat, etc - which is quite helpful of SD. SD is also getting new ones, which is good.

That's all I know....have a good day!

Chell was suppose to get her zip line (stitches) removed today. Her Dr decided to give it another week to heal before he removed it. While she was there Kami and I went to visit mom. They had such a good time together. Kami knows how to brighten our lives. It was a little humid but the temps were beautiful so we brought mom outside and walked her around the building a few times. Kami liked going down the hill the best emoticon It wasn't too steep but fun none the less pushing someone in a wheelchair.

We left mom when it was dinner time so we came back to my house to play. It was really cute when she told me to go look at her bed. " You will see something pretty silly G'ma" she told me....my gray cat had curled up and was sleeping on it. It's a good thing she's an animal lover too.

It's hard to believe she starts kindergarten on Tuesday. Last night the kids all got to go to school and meet their new teacher. I'm happy a few of the kids from her pre-K are also in her class.

Missouri Star Quilt Company had a daily deal this week on a surprise charm pack for 50 cents. It arrived today with the rest of my order. I try not to order too often but I'm always happy with the quality of their fabric. I also ordered a batik charm pack and the 2 of them coordinate really well. I think I'll make a quilt for my house from it. I also got a jelly roll of crackle fabric to use with my license plates.

I told Kami I would see her in the morning. I'd like to go to the farmers market by the lake and she loves to feed the ducks. I need to stop off and get some cracked corn because she remembers Chell reading about popcorn and bread not being good for the birds.

Hi Seesters. Home from grocery shopping, Christmas shopping (board books for the wee ones) and have found a guy to give me an estimate on the basement. The other guy is giving me excuses and doesn't seem to be all that interested. I'd like to be done in a reasonable time. This one is recommended by strangers but his work looks good.

Tammy, have your found the machine? I've "mislaid" my old machine and need to take the "new" one to the shop for a cleaning. I don't want to be without a machine so I'll have to look harder for the thing. It can't be far. I just saw it four months ago.

SS, the picture of Nala is adorable. I'm sure she gets a lot of attention. Puppies are so full of energy. She seems to be adjusting well to your routine.

LG, hope the funerals this next few days don't overwhelm you. I'm so glad you are there for those who are mourning. It is such a relief not to have to worry about feeding those who come to the funeral.

Gotta go and get things together for the weekend. Have a great day.

This will be pretty quick....Went to the grocery store 2x today for the funeral dinner tomorrow. It is coming together and I have been blessed with people telling me that they would help. So I have plenty of help and didn't have to beg for it. But Rachel called just a few minutes ago and told me that her boss' mom died and her funeral will be next week. So there is another one I'll be doing.

Going to go grab a short nap and then head to my sewing room....see y'all later.

It another beautiful day here. I need to get caught up on a few things before I head out to enjoy it. Kami will be here at 3:30. I plan on pullling a few more weeds while she jumps to her hearts content on her trampoline. She loves playing outside so even if she wanted to ride her bike that works for me too.

Little Claire's sleep schedule is all out of wack the past week. She's been getting up at 4:30 instead of her normal 7. She's showing all the signs of teething even though we can't feel the teeth buds yet. I know it a process and a trying time especially for Kelly and Claire. She was getting lots of use out of her teether yesterday. I'm sure the cold felt wonderful on her gums.

emoticon to everyone. Have a Great Friday!

Good Morning!

Another day has arrived here by the bridge. The sun is shining and it will be back in the 70's today so we're happy campers!

We took Nala down to the beach area last night and she loved it! Bailey hated water in any way but Nala loved it and even went for a short swim before deciding it was cold. She met a couple of young girls and enjoyed playing with them. BUT, she had so much fun in the loose beach sand. Of course, she got dirty but we don't care. She's going Tuesday to be groomed so at least we will get our money's worth this time!

WG - all four kids would be a handful for anyone! I know the chaos my DD lives with having 5 (4 full time and step son every other weekend) Your son will have his hands full with even 50% but it's necessary. I'm glad to hear his job is willing to work with him.

Hi everyone. Worked today. next week starts mandatory extra shifts. Money is nice but I'm worn out already just thinking about it. I like my days off.

SS, the kids are two boys, 10 and almost 5 and two girls one almost 7 and one 18 months. They are a handful but he is good with them and when he has his own space and can have a routine, he will do better. Right now, he gets them for a couple of hours here and there and an occasional overnight for one or two of the kids. This doesn't give any of them any routine or ability to have a normal life. His work has said he can do what he needs to make this work so he can work from home the days the children are with him. I doubt he will have full custody unless she tries to run with the children or interfere with visitation. He is hoping for 50% physical custody.

Gotta go to bed. Pumpkin time.

I'm smelling the applesauce.

I have never heard of making applesauce in my crockpot. What a wonderful idea. One of my apple trees really produced well this year. Maybe Kami can help me do that tomorrow.

Chell gets her stitches removed then. They are not traditional stitches by any means. It's called a zip line and they close the incision with zip ties. I would think the metal would be uncomfortable when she bends her knee. Kelly is making lunch for Chell today so I'll get to see both of my little girls today.

I want to run to Barnes and Noble this morning. There are a few books that caught my eye that I'd like to check out. Hopefully there's a 20% coupon on their site. emoticon

Happy Thursday!

Morning Seesters!
We are up and a little disappointed to see another day of grey skies! Hopefully, the sun will break out later. We're not sure what we will do today. Nala is settling in to her new surroundings and loves this little park as much as we do. A complete stroll around the park is about 1,000 steps so we've made the circuit several times already. She's always ready for a walk and so many stop us to talk as I must admit she's a cutie!

LG - they always say your children are learning from your behavior. The door knocking is a good example. Our kids always knock, open the door and holler "Anybody home?" before they enter. We often leave without locking our doors (bad habit we're trying to break) so an unlocked door doesn't necessarily mean we're home!

WG - thanks, I'll remember your words about fudge being over rated. I haven't seen any samples but I'll look for one. I do think Norm and I are going to split one of the large caramel apples at Kerwin's at some point. Once a year we have that treat. They are very expensive, like $7.95 an apple so I'm willing to share! Wow! 18 months will be a long hard road for your DS, especially if he gets custody of the kids. Remind us again how many little ones they have and the ages. Does he want to get full custody? I think we all feel the kids would be better off with him but it is very difficult so he has to really be committed.

Morning, ladies!!

Sharon, you are so right about Fr. Byrd. You know I've always lived by the "message" that God knows best and it will all work out for the best. So yes, He did know what He was doing when Fr. Meyer was moved. Don't want to take anything away from Fr. Meyer but Fr. Byrd is much more accessible to everyone.

WG, I never required my kids to knock, they just do it. My parents and Thomas' parents required it! So my kids just always saw us knock before we went into their homes. So I guess it was a learned behavior!

Wow! Eighteen months is long time for that to drag on. Sure hope for your DS and you it doesn't take that long.

PJ, it is so hard to put down a beloved pet. Our kids were so mad at me for having our dog
put to sleep. But she was suffering too much and it was so hard to watch. They will be OK.

Tammy, you will have lots of great fruit for this winter. I need to get apples in the freezer but I still haven't gotten it done. They will be fine for a while and maybe next week I can get it done.

emoticon

Good afternoon Seesters. Fun times. It sounds like you are having a lot of fun.

LG, I'm sorry you lost a parishoner. I'm glad you are there to help. We have a "compassionate service" leader at my church who is in charge of the funeral meals, feeding the sick, etc. It works well. I think there is even a committee. The "calling" is for couple of years usually then the people do something else. Everyone should be willing to give service.

I'm glad that you are enjoying your priest. He seems to be embracing the electronic age as I see you liking his posts from tiem to time.

SS, gld you are having a good time. Fudge is overrated. I will say that so you don't really enjoy it at all. Sometimes a "taste" at the store is enough to satisfy you. You can do that and buy something else that Norm likes but you don't really care for. that might be enough.

PJ, sorry your son will have to put down the dog. I saw the photo. Looks like a great dog. I hope the boys are OK with it. I think that children do OK if you are. They are more a barometer of what the parents do than anything else.

Tammy, all that frozen produce! You will have a wonderful winter for sure. Just like a little squirrel taking care of your storage during the plentiful months. Or the ants in the fable. Love that part of you.

Glad you are back online with your flex. It is important to keep moving. Besides, you have all that competition with fellow walkers both here and on the other team.

Hope DD is doing well. Did she end up deciding to move closer?

More drama here. I think DIL filed for separation today. I'll be writing a check for the attorney for DS today so he can protect his rights. He has admitted she is his cocaine and he can't live without her. It is an unhealthy relationship and he knows this. He will talk with his counselor and maybe his friend about this and formulate a plan. He just needs to quit telling her everything.

I'm happy to have a quiet moment at home. Dishes, laundry, a bit of sewing. Love the quiet time. Gotta get past the immediate drama. Then it will be months of wrangling and fighting. The average divorce with children takes 18 months to complete. I'm hoping she is less patient than that and things go better. But history does not bear that out.

About the door thing, I've never required my children to knock My children in law follow example and even friends have been known to walk in. It is on her for not being aware that the rules change when you are separated and at odds with an occupant. The filing will seal the inability of her to enter without invitation. That makes it my place and she will no longer be "family."

Youngest DS did drop by today and we had a fun visit. His little guy is one of the happiest babies I've met. He is just one contented kid.

We left Nala in her crate and went in to town to browse through the souvenir stores. Can you believe we never bought a thing! We ate lunch in town as we didn't bring much food with us. Now we're back at the MH relaxing. Actually, Norm is relaxing so much he's snoring! I've got my walking in for the day. Yesterday with traveling I got 4,000 steps in but I'm up over my 10,000 again today

I resisted the fudge for the first day but I must admit I have four more days to go, lol.

PJ - so sorry for the loss of another beloved pet. So many have lost pets lately. My DS is adjusting to the news that their dog has cancer. They don't know how much longer they will have with her either.

LG - I'm glad you shared that you like Father Byrd so much. I remember how devastated you were when Fr Meyer left. It's amazing how the Lord gives us such love for our church leaders. I also see you are planning a vacation in the Gatlinburg area. That will be so much fun. Are you going to rent one of the many homes out and around the area. I remember my DS went with 3 other couples a few years back. They had a wonderful three story log cabin in a woody, hilly area. They got some beautiful pictures. Sorry to hear about the loss of a member of your church. I hope you get plenty of help with the funeral.

Tammy - I'm glad you're back up and walking with your new "flex" I hope Joe can get some pain relief with his knee and hips without surgery. That doesn't sound good to me!

Just had a phone call from my son asking if I could pick up the boys at school (I am on the approved list) as they are having to put the big dog down this afternoon. Iím going to have some very sad boys but at least it isnít unexpected and the grown ups have told them that it would have to be done soon.

LG I hope you can get enough help for the dinner that is going to be a big one.

Tammy you had a lot of apples to freeze but they will taste so good this winter,

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Good afternoon,

Been a very busy morning....before 8 a.m. I got a phone call telling me that we would be having a funeral on Saturday for 250-300 people! A man in our church died (dropped dead) on Tuesday and he is one of 18 children in his family! So you see why there will be such a large crowd. I've been on the phone contacting my committee members lining them up to work. I will miss Luke's soccer game but there will be other soccer games.

WG, my kids don't walk in my house without knocking. Now, that said, they knock and if the door is unlocked they will walk in but if the door is locked they wait for me or Thomas. I think she is being rude and obnoxious! I think I'd have to say something.

Tammy, I need to get apples in the freezer or make applesauce too but I've been so busy with other things that is not at the top of my list. Glad that you could get yourself out of your cranky mood!!

SS, hope that you enjoy your visit up North. Right now I don't want to go any where UP NORTH as I don't want to have to wear long pants and sweatshirts!!

PJ, I was pretty tired yesterday! But will probably get another 20K today. I'm already at 18K.

Thomas and I went to Indianapolis yesterday. I found a boiled wool jacket (not too heavy) I n Kelly Green on sale! Bought it!! Also, got myself some jeans that fit very nicely on sale. Now if I can lose about 10 lbs those jeans will be baggy!! But that will be OK. We went to Carmen's volleyball game and they got beat. First game was a blow out but the second one was much more even. Still got beat.

Now I'm going to get a few things done around here before the phone rings again!!

Hi, Sesters!

Half the apples are frozen or in crockpot applesauce. I wil start on the other half bushel tomorrow when I get home from work.

BF is very excited to have her mom's machine.

WG, my, oh my... emoticon

I was in such a cranky mood this morning, but while I was out walking, I I happened to think about those "I'm with..." Tee shirts, and thought that Joe's would have to read "I'm with Cranky" and got tickled and the bad mood was gone. I'm a pretty bad comedienne, but it was enough for me. emoticon

I now have a new Flex and have all set up - I hope. You will see if I have steps showing tomorrow. My first bit the charging dust, and I had tried everything but email Fitbit, since I never located the sales slip.

Trainer Tammy isn't doing so well; Joe is contacting a business that specializes in knee and hip pain. This has been a problem off and on for awhile now, and had nothing to do with the walking start.

Have a good evening, Seesters,

I'd love to tell DIL what the rules are. The problem is she doesn't take "no" well at all and tends to be even more defiant. She doesn't do boundaries well either.

Personal feeling is that she is getting desperate as DS is disengaging and admitting to her he doesn't believe anything she says and refuses to "discuss" with her as when he does, they just fight.

It reminds me so much of my life 15 years ago. I was afraid of my husband so the protective order helped a lot, but it took a lot of stern insistence to make the boundaries stick.

We have arrived and yup, it's still cold and damp but it isn't raining at the moment!

We love this little park and lo and behold, the managers recognized us. I guess we must be considered a regular even though it's only once a year.

They have excellent WiFi so I can play on the computer as much as I want. That's a bonus. I believe Norm is just planning on relaxing tonight and hitting some of the sights tomorrow. He gave us 5 nights for the price of 3 so it's only like $23.00 a night. It pays for him to know us.

WG - I would have a talk with the DIL and make it clear she is not to just walk in. That is just plain rude. It's not your DS or her home, so knocking is a matter of respect. 'Course, I don't think she has any respect which is sad.

Good afternoon. Enterprise is still napping for a few more minutes and the Gunslinger is playing with Mr Potato Head. I've got ten minutes to myself.

I'm back to watching the boys every week although I'm pretty sure I need to get the Gunslinger into preschool. He is 5 and should have started school yesterday but is unable to write his name, recognize numbers or letters, count to 10 let alone 20. He needs some stimulation. Some is the fault of the grandparents, but the mother is a teacher.

They had some opportunities to get him into preschool last year and could have gotten him there (another DIL was taking her child) but didn't do anything. Spending money is a big deal to DIL and they are doing well because of it, but it is a problem.

Prickly DIL came by early this morning. Just walked into the house and sent the Dinosaur downstairs to fetch his father. She knew better than to go down but walking in wasn't a problem. I hate that I'll have to lock my doors all the time now. DS says that she is entering the house quietly as though to try to catch him doing something or spy on him when she comes by.

Personally, I'm not fond of her entering at all without knocking. She is not exactly in our good graces. This makes it not her personal space. But she has an issue with that.

TB, your riding today sounded like a lot of fun.

SS, enjoy your visit to the bridge. It sounds like a lot of fun even if it cool.

LG, hope your life settles down. Walking and getting the big steps is always fun but being exhausted isn't. So glad you have your arthritis medicine again. It makes a big difference.

PJ, I love your exercise plan and activities. It's got to be fun having these new grandsons. It will be a great fun for you as they grow.

I'm off to feed Enterprise, do a couple of loads of laundry, and call the fireplace people. Gotta get going on that before it gets cool. I'm looking forward to using the fireplace and getting warm on the cool evenings.

Have a great day all.

Good afternoon
Went to Zumba this morning and just came in from washing the car and cleaning it inside. We will be going to DSís house tonight to eat dinner with them for Nathanís 10th birthday. He will have his actual party Saturday. Plus they want Frank to see the things they have done to the house.

I have been getting quite a few steps in but not tracking my food, but need to change that as the scale isnít moving much.

LG Iím not sure I could handle 21000 steps for more than a day. The days I have gotten 15000 plus I am pretty tired the next day.

WG you got the bad end of being called in. Does that happen often? I hope not. Not working looks real good on those days doesnít it?

Sharon enjoy your short vacation. BTW I just got notice that the shoes I ordered to replace the GD I sent back arenít in stock. So time to internet shop again

Tammy glad you could regift the machine back. That was very helpful and a nice thing to do

Good Afternoon
Well, we got up and packed the MH. Left about 9:45 this morning. We're still traveling but will stop for lunch soon. We should arrive at the campground late this afternoon. So far it's cloudy, misting rain and 56 degrees! It will definitely be fall like weather for our stay but jeans and sweatshirts are OK by me. I would, however, like it not to rain all the days we're north!

LG - My steps have been over 10,000 daily but my eating is still not good. Ever since I went on the no sugar diet and then ate sugar, I'm like an addict out of control. I am slowly trying to get back to what is normal for me! I actually gained about 6 lbs from my lowest weight and I'm still just trying to stabilize before losing again. I'm trying not to be so rigid with carbs so I'm shooting for 1200 calories a day and under 100 carbs.

Good morning! Had a very busy day yesterday. I got 21K steps!!! Weezie challenged me and I did it. Tired this morning but have 11K so far. Today will be a bit slower as Thomas and I are going to Indianapolis and then back to Carmen's volleyball game.

We have planned our family vacation for next year and we are going to Gatlinburg and then in 2018 we will be going to Disney again. I'm excited about going to Gatlinburg as we haven't been there in about 8 years. Brooke and Carmen want to go horseback riding. I should send them up to TB!!! There is a stable there and so we are going to go horseback riding. Probably kill me!

WG, that's just awful that you get "the left overs". And sorry that the kids left a mess. I try to make sure that they pick up most of it.

Tammy, scheduling test is quite a chore. I know that for me it is a headache!

SS, glad that you enjoyed your visit to the casino. Know that you'll enjoy the bridge as you always do. But it is getting chillier even around here. It was 52 this morning when I went to the gym. Not looking forward to the fall and winter. How are you doing with your weight? I was up this week and not happy about it. So I've got a new plan for myself. I'm watching my carbs (not as strict as you) and keeping calories under 1300. I did go over yesterday by 50 calories but I think that walking 21K steps that will be OK! Now I plan to "seat belt" myself on this wagon and stay here!!

emoticon to everyone else.

Hi Seesters. Home from work. I was called off then called in. That meant that I got the "leftover" patients. I'm sure it wasn't truly malicious but was a "self interest" thing. The one thing that I asked was not to have patients going home. Guess what?

It was a very long day filled with lots of new patients who have lots of new needs. established patients tend to be less work. They aren't as painful, not as much paperwork, not as much teaching.

LG, 50 plates! That sounds like a lot of fun. I hope you find something very fun to do with them. I'm sure you and Weezies will enjoy them all.

Tammy, I assume you are drying the apples? That was nice to regift the machine. I'm sure she will enjoy it.

Gotta run. The kids left a mess last night and I'm tired. I'll be cleaning up a lot tonight and tomorrow.

Have a great day.

Good Evening!

We are on our way back home from the casino. We had two Prime Rib dinners for less than $25 bucks! Then we played on the slots for almost 3 hrs. Norm lost his, I broke even and our friends we left playing.

Did I mention we are leaving in the morning for a few days up by the bridge. We try to spend a couple days up there every summer. We are looking forward to some time just to kick back but it looks like it's going to be jeans and sweatshirt weather that far north. I'm OK with that.

You girls are sure excited and having fun with the license plates. Looking forward to seeing what you make with them.

When I get home I am going to do a WATP so I get a few more steps in. I'm over 10,000 but I'm getting greedy because of the challenge I'm in.

Hi, Seesters!

It is a beautiful day here today. I was having Monday Brain, but I made it through and all was as good as it could be. I bought a bushel of apples at what I though was a very good price and already have a cookie sheet full of sliced and peeled apples. I estimate there will be 6-8 more.

I smile thinking of the license plates and am looking forward to seeing the finished products one of these days.

I am re-gifting a sewing machine to my BF. She gave it to me several years ago and I have never learned to use all its bells and whistles. It was her mother's machine, and when her own "died" and couldn't be repaired, I asked if she wouldn't like it back. She was thrilled and I was thrilled to have offered.

Toddler Jane went to her local cardiologist today but shall need to go back as the appropriate tests were not ordered. As DD worked in the area which coordinates such when orders are written, I understand there can be a breakdown at any of various places. It must be so very frustrating.

WG, yes, my preference would have been to be there at another time of day, but I had some other parameters that day as well. 😏

Have a good evening, friends, and hello to all.

Have had a very nice day here too! Our AC did come for a while but it was late afternoon. I worked at SVDP this morning. I have all the church laundry washed/dried and ready to be ironed.

I agree with Weezie2....I love all the license plates and all checks are in the mail. PJ, yours went out this morning. I laid them all out this afternoon and there are so many of them and I have favorites! There are several that I can still get here in Indiana but not sure I want any more as I have about 50 of them.

I did do some sewing also. Hoping that Wednesday I can pick up my "big" machine. I'm having it cleaned and serviced. Then I plan to make some small bags for my niece's 2 DDs. I'll send them for Christmas of save them for when they are here next year. I'm going to use designs off of the baby quilt.

Nothing else going on. I will probably get 20K steps today!! emoticon Have to keep up with Weezie1!!

It's another busy day here with Claire. Our weather is beautiful. It feels so good to have the windows open with a nice cooler breeze. It feels more like early October weather than late August.

I want to thank everyone again who collected and mailed our fabric license plates. I recieved the last set from PJ on Saturday. Everyone's check went out with today's mail so hopefully you'll get them in the next few days.

It's time to get Claire a bottle so I'll catch up with everyone later.

Have a Great Monday!

I'm bushed after this whirlwind weekend. Yesterday with all the things we did and then a full day today.

We went out to eat with our friends and Father Byrd came along. After we ate we all came back here and sat around and talked. He is very easy going and fun to talk with. He isn't "stuffy" at all. And you know what? I like him better than Fr. Meyer. Never thought I'd say that but I do!

We had a great day today and got our family pictures taken this morning here in our gardens. They don't look the best but it's OK. We have planned our family vacation for next year and we are going to Gatlinburg and then in a couple of years we will go to Disney again.

I'm tired and really don't have time to "talk" to everyone so I'll just say emoticon and emoticon

Good afternoon Seesters. Chicken is marinating. The rice is ready to cook. I'm having chicken and rice and stuff for dinner today. Early evening as the kids have first day of school tomorrow.

Got a lot done yesterday. I didn't check when I went downstairs but will on Tuesday. The house is a mess. Too many people and no one cleaning up after themselves. A lot of debris from the moving stuff out. I've still got a lot to do but salvaged Mom's china and a few other things from the pile to go to a storage shed. Sis and I split the china and other things so I have parts of each set which works out OK. I didn't intend to use them for dinners as I have a complete set but wanted them for fun. I also have a setting of my grandmother's everyday china and her good china. And my great grandmother's dessert plates. It is fun to have some of each to have a memory. Just didn't see them doing well stacked in a shed somewhere.

My FIL's FIL had a trunk he used as a young man. We inherited it when he died and my mom stored it for us for so long that it was forgotten. It came with me when she died and will go to my sons (don't know which one, but one of them should have it.) It could go to ex but he isn't good about giving things to his kids so it will stay here until one son wants it. It is ca. 1913 so it is pretty old. He had stored some china place settings in it but mom in her late years put stuffed animals in every place she could think of. She did something with the china and I have no idea what.

Tammy, you have such a good and giving heart. I saw on FB how the children enjoyed the gift. It was given with love and received with love. I'm sorry you didn't get to see the children. I don't usually go to my children's homes until afternoon as they are often not up or dressed in the mornings. Not a problem. I've had times when I wasn't either.

I'm sure that a fragile child takes its own toll. Having another child not feel well means a lot more giving. I'm glad the parents have it figured out and can manage all that seems to need to be done. It is so sad when a child is ill and has a very limited time here. She is such a sweet looking girl. The little boy is adorable as well.

SS, hope the weather clears for the house warming. It sounds like fun. I think we all have pretty mundane and routine lives. It is what keeps us going in the right direction. Too much excitement isn't good either. There is a need for a nice mix.

Weezie2, glad you got most of your inventory sold. That sounds discouraging. It would have been a good time for crafters and other vendors. I'm just happy the entire day wasn't a waste. Enjoy the baby today. Sounds like a good time to nap.

LG, hope DD's party works well. How fun to see everyone today. Thinking of you.

PJ, I'm all for cooler weather. Hope fall lingers a bit, though. Not looking forward to snow.

I've managed to annoy prickly DIL again. Last night when I got home from grocery shopping, the kids were playing nicely with things I had up in a high closet in my study. They had climbed over some things to get to the toys but I usually get them out in controlled situations so the pieces stay intact. DS was curled on the new sofa in a fetal position. He had hurt his back and shoulder helping move boxes and his asthma was bothering him. So he took a nap.

To say I was irritated is mild. I locked the front door so DIL wouldn't barge in to pick up her kids and find him thus. She did have to knock and he was upright when she came in. She knew he had been sleeping but didn't see it. I do want him to have a chance of getting equal time with his children. When he gets this way, though, he tends to fall apart. At least the kids can come upstairs and be with me at times like this.

Gotta run and get the tribbles out before the kids come over. It will not be a "clean" house but cleaner is a good thing. Tuesday I start sitting the other grands every week and we'll see after that.

I see that Becky is still active on Spark. Has anyone heard anything about Jo? Just wondering about friends we don't hear from often.

Have a wonderful day everyone. I'll visit soon.

We got our rain this morning while I was at church. I'm grateful that the weather was great for the music fest/ craft fair. The young musicians were really talented. I was surprised that I was the only crafter. I told the man who was organizing it that I would love to be a part of his committee next year. He has to change things up a little. I don't think most people knew that there would be crafters also. It started out really slow and I wasn't even sure that we would make our booth fee. The minute we started packing up because it was getting dark was when we sold 90% of our stuff. My niece ended up with $75 to put toward her band trips this year so I was real happy with that.

I'm watching Claire today so her daddy can get a few projects done without her being underfoot. I think when she takes a nap I'll be taking a short one too. This G'ma is just a little tired with all the fresh air.

Have a Great Sunday!

Quickly popping in with my morning post!

Tammy - I did see the post and although you didn't get to see the kids, it appears the visit was appreciated.

We are supposed to go to my niece's House Warming Open House this afternoon. I was looking forward to it but we also have rain and storms moving in. Not a good day for an outdoor gathering. We'll have to see what develops.

Hi, Seesters!

We took the gently used items to the little family yesterday - some of you will have seen the post I was tagged in on FB. We were probably too early [9:30] for their schedule, I had just told the momma "morning", but brother had been ill and missed school the day before, and then Jane had had a bad evening as per her dad, so they were both actually still asleep, as was the mom. I do know what it is like to have a chronically ill child, but not one so little.

We have a huge area of tstorms approaching, so my outside activities will be limited somewhat this morning. I need to do some inside things anyway.

Good Evening!
I just worked around the house this morning and went for a walk. Kinda boring as I do the same thing most every day. I did go shopping for awhile this afternoon.

WG - My heart is heavy for your son and what he is going through. But I also feel that seeing an attorney is the best thing he can do. He is so lucky you can make your basement into a nice living space for him and his kids. Hopefully, if she's running around, she may be ready to give up custody of the kids. Of course, if she thinks he wants custody, she'll fight it.

Hi Everyone! Don't have time to comment on each post today.

I'm just running thru here. We just got home from Luke's soccer game and now headed to church and then out to eat.

PJ, wanted to let you know that I received your license plates and I'll mail you a check tomorrow. I plan to tell Weezie and she can mail you one too.

WG, sorry for the drama and I am pulling for self destruction! emoticon

Got to run.

Good morning. DD is arriving shortly and we are going through boxes in the basement and getting rid of a bunch and sending a bunch to the storage unit so the basement can be made into the apartment for DS. He will have 2 bedrooms and a bath and a living room. He doesn't need a kitchen as I don't use mine enough to make it necessary. He is welcome to take over that room for the most part. The other kids will be over after soccer games. I wish I was attending but felt this was more important.

Tammy, how fun that you get to help your DH walk. It is so important to diabetes and controlling it as well as being healthy. I love the couples in my neighborhood who walk. They don't all walk at the same pace but the walking and talking is a romantic thing and often they will walk hand in hand which is not a "cardio" walk but is a nice one and they both will get there in a better place.

I'm glad your DH is enjoying the idea. Perhaps he misses you while you are walking. I know the walks are for your own mental health any more as well as the cardio health but it will be so much fun for both of you.

Your friend who is walking the "loop" at school is doing great, but she has to be physically ready to meet the demands of nursing and needs to be a bit more fit to be able to do the program. I'm sure she will make it with a bit more time.

DD should do well on Latuda. I know DIL did very well, possibly the best she ever did on that medication. Couldn't take it when pregnant and nursing and she insisted on both, so it made a big difference. One pill makes a big difference as well. Much easier to deal with. Hope it helps things.

PJ, I'm glad you got a new mower. I thought you weren't going to do it until next year. I hope your father's problems are not too bad. I know it is hard for both of you. I wonder if he is drinking enough? That sometimes affects the kidneys more than we think. And older people don't drink much anyway.

LG, I'm sorry you are having a time with the veneers. It is frustrating to have to put more money after things that should have lasted. Have a fun day today. Sounds like a busy one. How fun to be celebrating your DD's birthday tomorrow. hope you all have a great time.

Weezie2, enjoy the craft fair today. I'm glad Kami had a better night. It is hard to know you can't go home. It changes the feeling about the sleepover. It quits being a choice. I'm sure she will be glad to be home and be back soon.

Pocahontas slept over last night. She wanted to sleep with me but I have a bed for the grands and she decided to sleep on the new love seat. That will be the last time a sleepover happens there, but it was fun. She is a cutie. We went out to dinner and then she made a bracelet with the "french knitting" spool type loom. It is only 6 "nails" so it was fun. I found some pony beads and she put them on at intervals which made it a lot of fun. And it matches her new soccer uniform this season. She now wants to make another. We'll have to do that very soon.

DS saw the attorney and now has an idea what he needs to do to have his children. He will have his "game plan" and after years of knowing her, he should be able to make that happen. If not, he can wait for her to "self destruct" and he will be able to do more. She will not do well with court ordered anything and it should be interesting to see how that goes. She will also have to get a job which will make it harder to say "no."

DD is here. Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

Today is the day we are taking the gently used clothing to Jane's big brother - who is all of 6 - and I found a delightful little handbag and some barrettes for Jane's little blond curly head. I hope she thinks they are fun. I must watch to see if FB friends are getting rid of little girls' clothing. Jane hasn't been doing as well lately, but I haven't posted anything on FB as her parents aren't advertising it. She has a local cardiologist appointment on Monday after having been back to St. Louis last week for a cath procedure. I know my Seesters here will say a prayer for her. Her dad is taking her to the cardiologist appointment instead of the whole family since the brother is in school already and already missed school yesterday from being sick. They want him to miss the least amount of school possible. Of course that would be a consideration with such a diagnosis of a family member.

We are also doing a couple of other errands today, one of which will involve a furniture store visit with my SD. I am looking forward to that one as well, especially browsing and getting possible future ideas after seeing WG's new furniture.

Have a good day, friends! Hello to all.

Sharon, the veneers are just a thin piece that looks just like a tooth but fits over my own. I've had one for 20 years. They do become thinner with brushing and cleaning. But the dentist did tell me that these new ones are made out of different material. So we'll see.

Weezie2, glad that Kami slept thru the night. We had that happen with Brooke and Carmen at different times.

WG, I know that you are sad that it has come to this. I've always tried to look at things and think that God knows what He is doing and I put it into His hands. Prayers for you and your family at this difficult time.

Tammy, so glad that Joe got out and walked and you didn't have to the "whip"!!! Thomas walks 2x faster than me and it is hard to keep up. So we've just decided to quit walking together and I really miss that time that we talked.

PJ, hope that your Dad's problem is an easy fix.

Need to get moving. Not sure that I'll get here tomorrow as Luke has a soccer game at 11:30 and then we are going back to Jason's and then we are having friends here in the evening after Mass. In fact, Father Byrd is coming! He likes pizza and that is what we are having. Sunday we'll be celebrating Rachel's birthday (which is actually today!). So I'll try!

Hi, Seesters!

Trainer Tammy didn't have to get the big stick out this morning; Trainee Joe was out the door to walk before I was dressed!

I enjoy push mowing, PJ. The house pics on FB are very nice. Hope dad improves.

WG, it is sad to realize hard decisions are repeating themselves. We footed the bill ourselves once, just as a great aunt did for me over 25 years ago. It does seem best that he is taking this step. Is there a chance he will have sole or primary custody?

I've got off task with the fire fighting news catching my attention. Also watching Hurricane Danny news as they usual affect DS's job at the Pensacola airport.

Just took a shower after using our new push mower. It will take some getting used to as we had our old one for about 20 years. Also did some weeding this morning. Today is my stay at home day so Iím taking advantage of it

Yesterday was errand day for me tomorrow will be my day with dad. I had a call from about his lab work from last week. His showed some kidney problems. We had this happen last year and we took him off one of his meds and it improved so not sure what they will want to do this time. He goes to the specialist on Sept 15.

Frank has the house painted now he has the front door off to give it fresh paint and clean up the handles, etc.

LG so sorry to hear about your dental issues. Ouch that $$ does hurt. Iím curious how much a set of false teeth run now a days and hope I never have to find out. Also understand hearing aids are extremely expensive too.

Weez good grief your putting in the steps. Not sure I can keep up with you let alone catch up. Great job. I am so sorry to hear about the family health issues. Its sad to hear about your BIL and sister now that she is retired and they could really start enjoying themselves more.

Weez2 I like the way Kamiís list started with a bubble bath.

I canít wait to see what you ladies do with all those license plates. I know you will share pics with us.

Tammy always glad to hear a bit of good news about your DD. Also want to hear more about the greyhound training. So your now Trainer Tammy Ė take it easy on Joe (I know you will)

WG so glad to hear DS has finally made a decision and getting an attorney. We parents help our children as much as we can mentally, spiritually, and financially. It will be well spent in the end to see the stress on him lessen.

Sharon I can relate to your walking with Norm.. When we are traveling and Frank and I take a walk in a campground he says I walk fast. But when we go hiking I canít keep up with him

Good Morning! We have a bright sunny morning here and it just lifts my mood! Norm is off working and Nala & I are just starting slow. I'm in long jeans as it got really cool last night.

I have bill paying on the agenda this morning - boohoo!

Weezie2 - I'm sure Kami was just really tired last night so I'm glad a good nights sleep has her in a better mood! Good luck with your craft fair. Update us on how you do!

WG - I hope you got a good nights rest as well as Kami! I know between the physical being tired with your job, it must be emotionally exhausting to be a witness to your son's hurting. I must say, I am glad he is talking to an attorney. Perhaps, that will make him see the situation for what it is.

Tammy - I envy those who go for walks as a couple. Norm doesn't like to walk with me. Before I started walking, he said I walked too slow. Now he says I walk too fast! There's just no pleasing that man when it comes to walking! I'm sure you will adjust your pace to Joe's, especially in the beginning and it will be so good for him. I've kind of lost touch about your DD's living arrangements. Wasn't she living with her latest BF, the one you kind of liked? Is that relationship over? It will be nice to have her close. I pray the Latuda keeps her on an even keel.

LG - I'm not familiar with veneers so I wonder how long before you have them and can eat normally again?

It was a much better night. Kami slept in her own bed til right before 7. I never heard a sound affter she fell asleep. She's in a much better mood so her little meltdown of wanting to go home was her being tired from the night before. Woo Hoo!

Have a Great Friday!

It will be interesting to see how the night ends up. Kami was missing her mom and decided she didn't want to stay with me another night. She decided my new mattress wasn't comfortable enough for her so she would sleep in her own bed tonight. so at 8:30 I'm changing the sheets on her bed. She loved the 101 dalmation sheets so she gathered all her little friends off my bed and put them on hers. She has her water and night light so hopefully she'll sleep through the night. She was sound asleep by 9. I'll be grabbing a couple of advil and climbing into bed shortly myself.

I'll be bringing her home early enough to set up for the craft fair between 1 and 3. It sounds like I'll only be setting up half of what we normally do. All the displays and totes won't fit in one car so I'll have to be selective on what I bring. Thank goodness my niece is free or I'd probably not do it at all and consider it a donation to the church.

Hi Seesters. Long day and the grands are here.

DS called an attorney today and will meet tomorrow. I hate to continue a family tradition, but I'll be paying the fees as my mother did for me. Then he can make a plan.

Can't respond. Too tired. Have a great night.

Seesters,

I accompanied DH to his doctor's appointment and since the doctor wants DH to walk, even if he starts with ten minutes, I have been appointed Trainer Tammy emoticon

Some of you will have seen on FB today that I met Minnie the rescued greyhound when my regular walking route had to be changed. It was quite fun. Minnie's "mom" trains the greyhounds as service animals. I plan to travel that route again and learn more about Minnie and M______Marvelous Margaret, who has trained for years.

I have seen DD a bit more tha usual lately. There is a very good chance that she will be ion her own apartment fairly close to both us and my SD. I think that is a good thing. There has been a bipolar meds change from a handful of pills to Latuda and that seems to be working well two weeks into the prescription. I am always hopeful of a moderate period.

I'm taking some "new to him" clothes over to little Jane's brother on Saturday. A former high school student of mine was looking for someone to use them via FB. I need to take Jane something as well - maybe something fallish.

We just got home from Carmen's volleyball game. Had to pick up Luke and Brooke and take them to get dinner. I'm ready for bed!

Weezie2, boy, I hear that about dragging. When our grandkids were younger and spent the night with us they would sleep with us. Didn't sleep but they did!

Thanks, SS! I just want to be able to bite into a sandwich or anything for that matter!

Weezie, we are going to have fun with the license plates. I think I'll have about 50 before it is over! And I'm taking your advice and "winging" it!

My eating hasn't been too good lately. But I'm trying!

I'm dragging this morning. Kami spent last night and of course she wanted to sleep in my bed. She doesn't sleep in one spot.....lol I had little feet in my back. She has a busy day planned for us. Top on her list is taking a bubble bath so she can go visit with Great G'ma.

Have a Great Thursday!

PJ - I am sorry for the wasted time with the shoes but you gave them a fair try. I still love mine and have been able to increase my daily steps with no pain so that feels good.

Weezie - sorry for your loss and the news about your BIL. It is difficult as we get older to have to deal with losing our family and friends.

LG - how sad that you have to get two new veneers but so glad they can give you back your beautiful smile.

Tammy - how fun to hear that Kathy is progressing and you continue to walk with her. Keep us updated on her progress. You might want to tell her that you mentioned her to us and we are all cheering her on. I think the pounding class would be fun!

Evening all,

Just a quick pop in before I get around for bed. I've been getting up at 4 a.m. to get on the treadmill. My steps are up! This is good as I've been on the down side for a good long time. Today I even challenged myself to get 20k and I did it! Wasn't quite 10 miles but really close. Needless to say, I'm ready to go to bed.

I even got a few minutes in my sewing room. I've got 3 more sets of 2 of the tubes to sew together then I can start putting the sets together to get this bag done. Weezie2, did you ever get your machine to work on these. I ended up giving up on their setting and got my machine to do a 5 zig zag and 3 width setting I believe and no more breaking. Very strange. At any rate, only the first two tubes are a bit of a mess and may remake them rather than rip them apart. We shall see. I can't wait to share this one with you all! I plan to have it done in time to take to IN for the retreat with Pat next month. Shoot, I'm gonna need a big bag for all these license plates we've collected. LOL Thank you everyone who has assisted us in collecting them. Now we have to use them!!!

SS, glad Norm got through his stress test. Hope the news is positive.

We had some sad news the last few days. First, Gary's uncle was in a nursing home hoping to get enough strength built up for a heart procedure. Well, that didn't go as hoped and he ended up in the hospital and then yesterday, it was decided that it wasn't going to happen and he wanted to go home to die so they got him there yesterday afternoon and last night he passed away. So we have a visitation and funeral the first of the week. Waiting to give some folks time to get here from out of state.

Then my BIL whose been dealing with prostate cancer for 15+ years has been in a lot of pain with his back and they can't figure out why. He finally managed to get through a PetScan which wasn't easy with the pain he is dealing with and it didn't show anything. So no answers there but what it did show is that the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes in his shoulder and arm pit. I think he will see his oncologist the first of the week but I am betting he will not choose to do chemo and ride it out. I love this guy so I'm sad and my sister just retired so it is sad on so many levels.

Too many things happening that just are so sad. Part of my push to keep moving.

Anyway, PJ, sorry the shoes didn't work out for you but you gave it a try. I need to break down and buy some new shoes. I've walked through a blister developing on the side of my heel. Weird but didn't let it stop me.

Tammy, thanks for sharing about the student. What a great story and glad you are walking with her and she hasn't given up. One of the reasons you are so good at what you do.

WG, I agree with LG and hold those babies as long as you can. They grow too darned fast!

Okay, hello to everyone I may have forgotten but I need to scoot. 4 a.m. will be here in no time.

Enjoy!

PJ, sorry that you are having to send back the shoes. That is part of the reason I want to try them on in the store. I told another gal about them on another team and she loves hers. So we'll see.

Tammy, so glad that Kathy is not giving up. Too many students get discouraged and just give up.

SS, glad that Norm survived his stress test and Nala survived the crate!!

WG, hug those babies for all of us who don't have babies any more.

Well, I've had a perfectly "awful" day. Last night while eating supper I lost the veneer off my one front tooth. It has a habit of coming off about every couple of months. So went to the dentist this morning and she told me that I need a new one and that my other front tooth is cracked and needs a veneer. So now I need TWO of them. I told her that I really couldn't afford them. But she gave me a "deal" and so I'm getting two of them for the price of one. But it is still almost $1000! Lord, I'm over teeth problems.

Tammy thanks for sharing about your non student I hope she can get in next semester in the meantime she is doing her Plan B very smart girl.

SS I just wanted to tell you I am sending back my 2nd pair of Gravity Defyer shoes they just aren't going to work for me. They hurt my toes and rub up and down on my heels they weren't too small they just didn't work on my feet. . So they will be exchanging them for the brand I have now worn for several years. Saucony Omni 14 the newest release which is the 14s. Sigh so now it will be another 2 weeks. emoticon

Hi, again, Seesters!

I am trying to troubleshoot why my fitbit flex won't charge. I've just done the "clean the little gold things" with the toothpick trick and the "use the opened paper clip in the little hole" trick. I haven't worn it at all today and am thinking I may need to join Fitbitaholics Anonymous.

I wanted to share about the student that struck up a conversation with me last spring - Kathy. She wanted to be admitted to our RN program - she already has an LPN certificate, and was indeed chosen as an alternate, but no spot opened up in this fall's class, so she is doing her Plan B while she waits and is back on campus. If you have ever read Indygirl's blogs, Kathy kind of reminds me of her in a way. Kathy was ill and in and out of the hospital for years - when I first met her last spring she walked part of a hallway with me using her walker. She doesn't need a walker anymore and we completed three rounds of the entire floor which goes around the perimeter of the building. She takes a water aerobics class and also a "Pounding" class which she explained - kind of like playing a percussion instrument, but she says it is really a good workout, even though she must sit in order to do it. So I learned about "Pounding"...anyway, it really makes my day to visit with her and see how far she has come. That's it...Teacher Tammy's student blurb about someone who has never been one of MY students! emoticon

Nala wasn't happy to be in her crate two days in a row! But, she too has survived!

I didn't get any steps in most of the day so I came home and went for a long walk to meet my step goals for the day.

Good morning. Have Fabio today and three other grands visited for a minute as DS#1 is off work and stopped by to say "hi."

LG, Love the plates as well. You will have so much fun "making a statement" with them.

PJ, glad you had a great time. The cousin pictures are fun. That is a fun memory.

Have a great day. I've been summoned by Fabio for a book.

We got our GD moved yesterday and wouldn't you know her room is on the 4th floor! But we got it done!

Now we are on our way for Norms stress test. I'm sure he'll be glad when it's over!

See that you enjoy the day our Lord has given us.

SP isn't playing nice this morning!! Last night I tried 3 different times to post on here and "poof" it was gone. So I quit. Hope I can get this one posted.

PJ, I sent you an email last night. Hope that you got it.

emoticon to PJ, Tammy, and WG for the license plates. I am having so much fun with them. They have such great sayings on them. One that I got in TN says "Stripper Queen"! Just love them. Thanks again.

Tammy, sent the check out this morning. So you should get it in a couple of days. WG, hope you've gotten yours by now.

I have a very busy day ahead. Lots of laundry to catch up on and a dentist appointment and nail appointment. Then I need to clean in my den. Curtains and windows need washing. We are supposed to get rain today so a good day for that.

I'll get back later.

I'm not going to try and catch up with all of you and respond.

WG I love the furniture and the blue walls. Looks very nice and comfy in there

I did pick up 2 more Iowa license plates and am waiting on Weez2 to let me know where to mail hers. LG and Weez1 I will mail to LG tomorrow.

We made it back from Iowa last night. All are tired but those 2 little boys had a blast and were crying that they didn't want to leave the farm I think part of that was because today they start school and it is a new school at that . So they are a bit scared.

I did pretty good at getting steps in just in everyday walking around and did pretty good with my eating but more bread then I am used to eating. This morning I forced myself to go to my Zumba class. I am very tired and will only do some laundry today and relax

We have a tradition with my cousins 3 kids and my 2 boys since they were little of making them all sit on the couch and we get a "couch cousins" picture. We started a new one with the 4 little boys this year and see how long we can keep it up.

Original couch cousins minus my oldest son.

My future grandsons and the other 2 belong to the girl in the original couch cousins pic. She is the daughter of my cousin

Good morning. DS's two children are here as the third who is in town is at the dentist. The baby is getting very comfortable with me. At the end of yesterday, I had visited with 7 of my grands which is a nice day. Not all at once and a bit of down time.

Have Fabio and possibly the three grands so their mother can rest today and tomorrow. Not getting a lot done in other ways.

LG, it is nice that you talked with two Seesters yesterday. Have fun in Tennessee. I love that state but have only been in the eastern part of it.

Gotta get some sewing done. I've got to get the machine in for service before I take on another project. It has been with me a few years and I've never taken it in. Hopefully it will behave better after that.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

We are off to help GD move in to her new dorm for another year of college. She's excited because Western MI Univ built a new dorm over the summer and they have asked her to be an RA in it. So she gets a BRAND NEW ROOM! All by herself! I hope she has a good year. Oh, and BTW, we have been hoping for rain and today it is raining! Should be fun to haul all that stuff in through the rain.

I'll check back later - enjoy your day whatever is on your agenda!

My next set of license plates arrived yesterday from Tammy. They are so fun. Thanks again!

I'll be child proofing my floor areas today. I have Claire tomorrow and she finds everything...lol especially the never ending dog hair.

I'll need to go to the grocery store and pick up a few things. Kami will be with me overnight. She is quite happy snacking on fresh raspberries and strawberries....popcorn I have plenty of.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Hi, Seesters!

LG, it was very nice to be able to put a voice with your name....I've been told by those that know me in "real" life that I sound like a kid on the phone. Do I? emoticon Have a very good time in TN; I have forgotten - are you sightseeing?

Weezie, those relationships such as the one with your RCIA sponsor are so precious, aren't they? I enjoy hearing my BF talk about her relationship with those she has sponsored in the past.

Weezie2, how are things progressing for the craft fair this weekend? I have seen a FB list of some in September and October for my area. My DIL and her SM and I go to one that is very close to me, and there is another about an hour away that has been highly recommended and I think we are going to try to go to that one if all works out in our schedules.

WG, 18 months...so I wasn't too far off with my guess! Seeing your furniture has reallllllly caused me to want to do find some new pieces. In the short term, I shall have to make do with going with my SD to look for some new furniture sometime before the weekend is over. She is moving from her apartment of two years to a duplex still close by and owned by the same landlady. There is a distinct possibility that DD will be moving into the apartment. We shall see what happens. Definitely SD is moving into the apartment.

This past weekend was the one year mark from the horrible wreck where my stepSIL was so badly injured and his father was killed. StepSIL still has pain and other aftereffects; I suspect it is very hard after his first 50 years were relatively injury- and pain-free.

Joe is smoking a brisket and a chicken today. That means I just think of sides, and that is a good thing. It also means some freezing of leftovers for future meals, and that is a good thing as well. I also have piano today and that is a third good thing.

Hello to all! Have a very good day!

WG, sorry for the drama. Hate drama!

Evening to you all!

Well I've been sewing. Getting that bag together that we've talked about. Tubes you sew together. Like Weezie, I had some issues initially but after I went back to the old needle and change the stitch size, I've not had a lick of trouble. Weird. So I've got like 7 or 8 pairs to sew and then I can start sewing them. I may make two new tubes as the first two were the ones I struggled with but then I'll be getting there and hopefully finish this weekend.

I too am tickled about the license plates. Thank you to all who have shared with us. I will get those from LG when I see her next month and I am putting a check in the mail tomorrow to you Tammy for my set. I just an envelope in the mail to Weezie2 with some I'd gotten around here and one we ordered while in Shipsee they finally sent. I hope to get started on cutting some of the things out before retreat next month so Pat and I can work on them. Of course, I will have an 'orange' car. LOL

SS, I see you are catching me on the steps. I had a couple of good days last week and my average has gone up so now I'm on a mission to keep it there. Of course it requires me getting up at 4 a.m. to accomplish this but I intend to keep at it. Early morning or I struggle to get 10. Weird. You're doing great!

Tammy I see you started your semester today. We have a few more weeks until we are 'allowed' to start school here in Michigan. The day after Labor Day so it will be a late start this year. So many changes and still need to do some hiring so we're all feeling the pinch about now. I still continue to hope the boss decides to leave yet this year but time will tell.

Now I need to scoot ladies. Hello to you all and hope your week goes smoothly. I'm visiting my RCIA sponsor tomorrow after work so that will be nice. She is a sweet lady and it has been several weeks. Can't seem to get to Mass on Saturday night when she does lately.

Will try to check back tomorrow. emoticon

Good morning. Have some grands. DIL with "stabbed eye" is going to the doctor and still cannot open the eye. I still expect a scratched cornea but who knows. It should be somewhat better by now. I haven't looked at it and it would have changed in a couple of days if it isn't.

They are watching Home so they are busy for a bit.

Tammy, that baby will be 18 months in a couple of weeks. She is the oldest of the little ones born in a 3 month period.

Good luck with classes today. It should be fun to have a new group of minds to bend.

Weezie2, it sounds like a fun day for you. I'm sure you will enjoy being with Claire today. I'm glad you are going to be able to take Kami and have her when her mom is busy. I'm sure she will move so much better when her knees are repaired. It is a bit of a long recovery, but she should do well when it is done.

I'm off to get things together for today. Have to catch up from the weekend when the grands were here and need to do laundry and things. I've got a bit of sewing that needs to be done today so we'll see.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hi, Seesters!

LG, that 2K wasn't all at the same time or we might have made a very different choice about repairing. The Saturn is a very nice tow vehicle, though, so maybe not...

Today is Day 1 of Fall 2015 semester...I THINK I am ready, but likely there is something that I have not thought through. I bet both my students and I survive. I awoke almost an hour before I needed to; that is usual behavior as well.

I have two days of 10K+ now; perhaps I can have some days of a few K more before long. I meant to get on my bike yesterday, but it didn't happen.

WG, how old is the baby? 2ish?

I, too, am anticipating seeing the license plates projects. Perhaps some day I shall do one.

Have a good day, Seesters.

Hi everyone. Two really "beat" days. I'm exhausted. It wasn't that bad work-wise, but it was just a long weekend.

A bit of family drama, late nights with the kids visiting to see the new furniture (read that boys, as the girls haven't come by.) The grands are here with their dad so I'm laying low. I have visited a bit with the boys but they need the time with their dad. He's still working on having the baby with him as much as he'd like but he isn't all that comfortable with a child who likes no one but her mother.

I'm glad you all enjoy the plates. It is so much fun to hear of your ideas and your plans. It will be fun to see the finished products.

Having a bit of Indian Summer right now with hotter weather than I've had for a month or so.

SS, I'm so excited to see your progress with your walking. The competitions really do encourage you to get out and move.

Weezie2, I'm looking forward to seeing the Hungry Caterpillar quilt. My sister made a wall hanging of the fabric a few years ago. It is very cute. She hangs it in her classroom.

Weezie1, have a great evening hanging out. Sometimes a bit of down time is wonderful.

I'm off to sleep so I can be available in the morning in case DIL needs me to watch the kids for her. She hurt her eye Saturday and is having a lot of discomfort. She will see a doctor tomorrow.

Have a great day all. ;

Weezie2, I was excited to get the license plates from WG also. It is so much fun. I'm also excited to get started on the wall hanging. You are doing great with your steps!

Sharon, you are doing great with your steps! I got a couple of days over 18K. So this week I'm hoping I can do it again.

Not much going on here either and I plan to sit on the couch and watch the Colts pre-season game!

Good Morning!
Considering yesterday was supposed to be my rest day, I was happy with over 13,000 steps!
I won the Workweek Hustle so I was happy with that. Perhaps one day soon I'll work for my next FitBit Badge which is 20,000 steps.

Not much happening here. Another hot & humid day to muddle through. I hope you all have a great day!

I was pleasantly surprised when I got my mail today. My fabric license plates from WG and Lillygal arrived. I can't wait to get them all so I can decide what to do with them. I'm thinking a tote bag for Lollies emoticon

I had a great step day. I ended up with over 17,000. Since I kicked it up I can feel more definition in my calves. More muscle means more fat getting burned right? lol Now I need to kick up the ST. Hopefully you girls won't recognize me in Shipsee next year.

I think I'll start reading a new Matthew Kelly book that also arrived today and call it a night.

Afternoon....I've been on the run since early. Thomas and I volunteered at an event at our county park called "Rock the Park". Lots of fun but came home and cleaned my kitchen floor and did a load of laundry and then went to Wally World to get a few things. Now SPing!!

WG, love the furniture. It looks very nice.

SS, we all have slow days and some days that I just don't want to move!!

Judy, good to see you here and know that you are still among the living!!

Weezie2, don't know if you have decided on a price but 1.5 sounds pretty good. When I did shows I was told to do 2x the cost and some times I could get away with that but most times not.

Tammy, wow...2K into a car. When my van's AC died, we got a price on what the cost to repair was and what the value of the van was. Ended up just selling the van and getting a Jeep. I've always been sorry that I didn't insist on another van. I miss my mini-van.

Need to run and get the laundry out of the washer.

Morning!
I did quite a bit of computer maintenance this morning so just a quick check in. Our high temps and humidity has arrived. I don't think I'll be exercising outside today! However, I did win the Workweek Hustle I was in on FitBit so it may be a bit slower day today. I had trouble sleeping last night as I had Restless Legs and I can only assume it's because I have been getting in so many steps this week.

I'm hoping I can talk Norm in to going to another movie. If I can find something we'll both enjoy!

SEK - glad to see you back home and catching up on your normal routine.

Chell and I are heading to our quilt shop a little later this morning. They're having an open house where everyone gets to meet the teachers and see all the new exciting classes being offered. It will be a small miracle to walk out without dropping some big $$$.

JoAnn fabrics has a big promotion going on too so I can't promise anything emoticon

My niece made a few of those fleece blankets that you fringe the sides and tie the 2 fabrics together. Does anyone have an idea how to price them? Is it 1.5 times the cost or do you double it? She's trying tp get a few $$$ for all the sports she plays in high school. She has a Minion one she made. It's stinking adorable. If they still have the panel I think she should make a few more of those.

Have a Great Saturday!

OMG, it seems like I've been gone forever. I was going to try and stay in touch while I was in Philly, but the IPad or my phone would not stay connected to their internet, so I just did what I could.

It is good to be home, but I may be going back in a couple weeks, we shall see. I would not want to live and drive there, it's kind of crazy.

Now I have to hurry and get my route ready, school starts Tuesday. We still need to find a class for Joshua so he can get finished.

I put on a couple pounds but that did surprise me, I wasn't able to eat as good as I usually do or get much exercise. We worked from 6 am to 6 pm everyday including weekends.

WG love the living room, SS I really love the Red toaster oven. Hope you enjoy it. PJ have a great time.

If I can figure out how to get the pictures off my phone I'll put some in a blog. I didn't get to see some things I wanted to, but if I go back I'm taking a day off so I can.

Time to get my shopping list together and get this house back in order.

Take care and I'll be here when I can.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, I do like that new furniture! Very nice, and it looks as if it will be quite comfortable to sit in as well.

We ended up with about $2K in our Vue last spring, SS. Does that make you feel better about Barney? emoticon 11K is very good; I finally got back to 10K yesterday.

Weezie2, 15K? emoticon [That's for "will I eventually want to do that?"]

More frantic prep times yesterday, and now I have misplaced two things - neither of which is necessary, but it still bugs me that I have misplaced them...it is probably a sign of other things happening...just life...

Have a very good Saturday, Seesters.

Good Afternoon!
We took Barney in for a front end alignment after getting new tires last week. The guy called and had Norm come back. He found something that definitely needs to be fixed so it's ending up costing $350. but you gotta do what you gotta do to get it ready for towing.

I took Nala for a long walk (she never tires out!) so at 2PM I have over 11,000 steps in! Whew, I seem to be competing with the rest of you ladies now!

WG - Your livingroom furniture is great! With you having such large family gatherings, you need lots of seating. I'm sure the kids appreciate it. We always had to put up folding chairs or haul the kitchen chairs in. And they weren't very comfortable. Good Job, Grandma!

Good morning Seesters. Yesterday was Left Hander's day and I worked so after taking the Lefties to get Fro Yo, I was bushed and didn't do anything beyond what I had to do and there was a lot that got left behind.

This morning, my furniture was delivered. It is very nice. The room is a LOT smaller but that isn't a big deal. I'm looking forward to enjoying the seating space and the kids will enjoy. Next project upstairs is getting the fireplace fixed. I've been planning to do this but had to replace my furnace. I'm still waiting on the bid for the basement.

Tammy, I'm sure preparation for college level teaching is much different. The focus has to be much harder in many ways. Hope life gets settled soon. Enjoy your weekend.

SS, I love the toaster oven. I've had one for years. I love cooking little things in it. I have a convection/toaster combo right now. I've worn out a couple of them. I don't have a lot of counter space either, but this one saves energy for me and doesn't heat the house when I've got little things to cook. I enjoy reheating pizza in the oven as well as cooking small pieces of meat and other things. It depends, but I don't use my big oven often at all. I love red. It is such a fun and cheerful color.

PJ, safe travels.

LG, you are working so hard on fitness. I'm sure you feel better, especially with your meds back on board. Have a fun trip to Tennessee. I did visit Knoxville a couple of years ago so I hit a lot of the Eastern part of the state. Since the state is divided in thirds, I missed a lot more than I saw but it was beautiful. And, Tammy. the Smokies are spectacular.

Weezie2, I'm sure it is a challenge to have a baby crawling about again. It takes so much to remember to "baby proof" the house. I've been fortunate that way as I have had a baby for a while, but with all the babies last year, I think it may be a while before another baby comes along.

Gotta run. I've got a couple of projects to get done today. in the sewing room. Picked out a few videos to watch while I'm sewing so I can get my stuff together. Then hopefully will move on to the next phase.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

I watched Claire last night so the kids could go out for dinner. OMG...she is non stop. She started crawling on Monday. She was fascinated with any cords she could find so I had to unplug and move a few fans I use to help circulate the air. It was kind of nice just having her sit and play in a small area. Those days are gone...lol

I pushed myself again yesterday and got in over 16,000 steps. I'm going to try to get at least 15,000 from now on. I plan on grocery shoppping after I see mom today. The only fruit I have in the house are grapes and a few apples so it's time to replenish my fruits and veggies.

I bought some bright yellow fabric to back that Hungry Caterpiller quilt I was putting together for Claire.. Oops, it wasn't wide enough because I put bigger borders on it. I'll have to stop and get some of the 108 wide fabric and use the yellow for the pockets in the monster bag. I'd like to get both finished this weekend so I can post pictures.

Have a Great Friday!

Hi, Seesters!

LG, I can easily see an elementary teacher spending those hours getting a classroom ready. I spend those hours, but it is usually because of something related to technology these days. I still remember how stressed I was last year since DB was in the hospital three hours away, etc...I will take this before-school stress any day. A trip to Tennessee? When I think of Tennessee, I think of the Smokies, which I loved and would love to go back to someday.

SS, that is one neat toaster oven...

PJ, safe travels! And have fun times, of course!

Good morning....

SS, your toaster oven is cool! I've talked about getting one for so long but never done it because I don't have a lot of counter space. But maybe one of these days!

PJ, enjoy your trip to Iowa. Thomas and I are leaving Monday for Tennessee. Planning to get a few license plates!

Tammy, I'm excited to get the plates. I'm sure that preparing for school to start isn't easy. A friend of mine who has taught 1st grade for several years was transferred to 2nd grade this year 3 days before school started and she was moved from one school to another in the district. The school she was teaching at is losing students to other schools. So they only needed one teacher and she volunteered to move. She told me that she worked 14 hours one day just sitting up her classroom.

Weezie2, emoticon on kicking up the steps. I really think that I'm doing so much better since I kicked mine up. Good for you!

I need to take my "big" machine into have it serviced before Weezie and I go to our retreat. It is coming up fast. About a month away. So I'm taking that in today.

This week I decided that I needed to get myself back into the grove. So on Monday I did my Motion Traxx workout on the elliptical. It is 65 mins. and is pretty intense. I did it Wednesday and today. I have also done ST 2 x this week. So I'm hoping for a loss this week. I've also been more conscious of my food. Wish me luck!!

emoticon to everyone else!
