Hi Seesters. It's been a fun day with Miss McGullicudy. She has been very fun today and we had a good visit. There's always drama but it didn't happen until later in the day.

SS, I'm sorry your DD is having a hard time with Christmas. I'm sure she doesn't want to hurt your feelings, but it does have to hurt a little. Especially with her DD making another choice. Those choices aren't personal but the best that people can make, but they are hard anyway.

Do what feels right to you and don't worry about the other stuff. It will work out in time.

Tammy, hope the doctor appointment was good. How was class today? It has to be nice not having tests waiting to be corrected. It sounds like a fun weekend.

I hope your DS and PJ's DS find out what is going on and it isn't a big deal.

Have a good day everyone. I'm going to take advantage of a few moments of quiet and get some things done. The furnace man isn't coming until next week, but the fireplace is keeping me warm.

Gosh! Another day is almost over already! Keep busy this morning doing Monday morning PU in the house. Then when Norm was finished working, we drove in to the casino for a little bit. Neither of us were winning so we left. We didn't even eat there as I had a nice pork steak out for our dinner so we came home and had pork steak and steamed broccoli.

PJ - we haven't heard from DD since last Friday but no argument ensued so I guess it was OK. Roni did mention being upset with her DD as she mentioned they may go to Artie's family first Christmas morning. Didn't set well as you can imagine. She did mention that she's buying gifts for those that will be there for Christmas. So that explains why she never acknowledged Christmas when we were gone. So I told Norm I was not sending them money this year. I'll see if we can find something in TX that Tucker would like and send it to him.

Tammy - I pray for both your DS and PJ's. I hope the tests shed light on both their issues.

Is everyone going to get flu shots? I got a message from my dr to set an apt for my flu shot.

Hi, Seesters!

PJ, I shared some "stuff" on the RV thread, so won't repeat it here. Yes, DD is doing better, it seems, and we have the added advantage that she stays on the meds, at least for now. I always hold my breath in that situation.

Back to work today - after a doctor appointment on Thursday morning, we will be going camping for the weekend. As of three weeks ago, oldest SD and her husband will be there for a couple of the four days.

Have a good day - hello to all.

Frank had his checkup with the neurologist and all was good. Does not have to go back unless there is a new problem. He goes to the surgeon on Thursday for his post op checkup. If all is ok (which we are sure it is) we will be heading out on a small vacation. Will go to Bennett Springs State Park for a few days and Branson a few days. The weather is to cool off so it will be a pleasant time to go. Want to go to the Outlet stores around Branson also.

Tammy I was surprised about DD getting married But it does sound like she is doing great and they are not rushing into the marriage. Your DS and my youngest are going through much the same thing. My DS is anemic and has been losing weight (not trying) he is scheduled for an upper and lower GI on Nov 2. It is a bit worrisome as his dad died from colon cancer and his grandpa (dadís dad) had Chrohnís disease. I will keep them both in my prayers.

HI TB its good to hear from you. I love that you found a new place to ride it sounds like a fun and ideal area.

SEK Frank has always thought he wanted a beagle. Luckily we have never had to meet up with any puppies or one might come home with us.

I got my results back from the Life Line Screenimg very interesting. Showed me as prediabetic So I think I will keep working on the Lo Carb lifestyle. Also showed me as having mild COPD. Donít smoke and arentít around smokers. I do get out of breath easily and just thought it was because I was out of shape. Especially bothersome doing steps or hiking in tough hill areas. I think I will just keep doing what I am. Tried another fitness class this week. This going to 2 different centers is going to work out. Itís nice that Silver Sneakers is a benefit of our insurance and there is no charge for me to join these 2 centers.

Sharon how did it go telling the kids about leaving for Texas early?

LG it seems sometimes from your posts that you work more than 3 days a week. But it is nice that you have a job you enjoy so much.

WG sounds like you are busy as usual with the grands. This little vacation we will probably try out the furnace in the trailer. We tried the A/C in July and it worked good.

Hi, Seesters!

SEK, I do hope that you got some rest last night!

It was so hot yesterday - but we are in a gradual cool down and by midweek, our temps should be in the 70s. [Hope your furnace recovered, WG.]

LG, I love farmer's markets and bulk food stores. We took a small road trip last Tuesday and stopped at a Mennonite food store. I picked up a wonderful cantaloupe [for $1!], and a zucchini and an acorn squash. I had never prepared acorn squash before, but it will not be the last time! I had seen a recipe where it was cubed and roasted, but it was too hot for that, so I looked for recipes for my PowerCookerXL and found one to try. I only paid 69 cents for the squash, and figured I had wasted a lot more than that in the past just trying things. It was great! I am beginning to feel the urge to sew. I haven't done any since early June. Your Halloween project was delightful.

I must start my exercise again. My fitbit is fully charged - it is still in the port on the computer and has been for some time.

Good morning!

Happy Birthday to Weezie1!

WG, it's awful to be cold. But I understand why you don't call on the weekend! Big bucks. Can't believe it's that cold already. Although we've had a few of those days too.

Tammy, glad your DS is doing some better. But that seems like a long time to wait for the scope. And glad that your DD found a great place for her wedding.

SEK, I'm sure that the nap on the bus wasn't all that comfortable! But if it helps.....it's good!

We went to the farmers market yesterday & to a bulk foods store with lots if Amish foods. Loved it! After we got home, I got to the sewing room.

No plans for today. Brooke is playing softball but it is over an hour away. Could play all day & I have too much I want to get done. Jason will text the score.

Got my exercise done so need to hop in the shower!

See y'all!

Hi Seesters. It's late but I've been playing grandma today. The Dinosaur has been having his weekend celebration so the others have "birthday sibling itis" They need a little extra attention to make up for the focus on the birthday kid.

Princess Purple has gone to a church function (So her mother says) and left two hours early. Will show up later than it finishes as well. Oh, well. Last year this event didn't end well. DS has been paying in many ways for whatever happened for months since. The others are doing well.

LG, glad you got some errands taken care of. It is a busy time for you which is fun. There is always so much to do on days off.

Tammy, glad the venue is taken care of. I hope things go smoothly with the wedding. You have some time to deal with that, though.

I'm glad DS is doing OK right now. If he is having less discomfort when he eats differently, it could be something else. Keep an open heart and mind. What a lot of worry for another month, though.

PJ, hope you and Frank are doing well. I'm glad he is getting around more on his own. I'm sure his independence was a big deal for him.

Furnace isn't working today. It's 54 outside which means I'll miss it tonight. Fortunately there is a second furnace downstairs and I've still got my fireplace. It will be fine. I can cuddle up in the main room and keep warm whenever I need to.

I can call Monday if it still isn't working.

Have a great day Seesters.

Got in at 2 this morning, to be back at 6. I'm sitting in the bus waiting for volley ball to be done. We got here at 7:30, I laid down in a seat, not comfy, and to my surprise woke up at 11. I never, until today, sleep on the bus. Should be on the way home in an hour or so. Next week no trips, except to take hubby to get his other eye done, but nothing on the bus, Thank The Lord.

Y'all enjoy the weekend.

Hi, Seesters!

Thanks for the prayers for DS emoticon He has his colonoscopy scheduled for 11/1, so that's not as quick as I thought it was supposed to be, but it is probably the first date open on the schedule. Since we will hit 10/1 next Sunday, that's not too bad. He said he had a pretty good day yesterday when I asked him how he felt.

WG, yes, indeed the venue was found and a down payment placed - I was relieved to hear their goal of 100 people max. She and fiance and two attendants were able to eat lunch beforehand together, then I met them and followed to the venue, so I was glad she had a fun day. As for the venue itself, it is a "remodeled" - there's a better word but I can't think of it - old church plus an attached room that will hold the reception. It is very simple and won't be too hard to get to. DD had looked at the venue's pins on Pinterest and was pretty sure that she wanted it before even going. Her comment to me yesterday was "mom, this isn't an impulsive decision" - I already realized that as she had been looking at different pins and has seen different venues when her friends were getting married.

SS, yes, she and CJ have been together 2?3? years, except for a manic period, but thank the good Lord she is on lithium finally and it seems to be good and she is better than most about taking it. My concern is that he takes care of himself as it is so important for anyone and possibly easier to put off when one is with someone with a chronic condition.

WG, I like "birth end" - such a pleasant way to make the best of the situation.

TB, I enjoyed seeing your quilt pictures on FB emoticon

Good evening....

WG, I'm still only working 3 days a week but some time I trade with the other gal and she works on Tuesday for me and I work a Friday for her. It sounds like your son has finally come to "terms" with his situation and is OK with it.

Tammy, it is hard to see our children in pain or in a vulnerable position. Prayer that it isn't anything other than anemia.

Sharon, it was close to 100 here today and VERY humid. Just hard to breathe. Ole' Mother Nature just hates to concede!

TB, glad to see you stop in and glad that you are becoming accustomed to your new surroundings.

Today was my day and I got a ton of errands done! Got up, went to the gym, then after breakfast, went to Wal-Mart and the grocery store. Got stocked up on a few things. Then went to the museum to start prepping for the Mystery Dinner which will be in October. Stopped at a new shop here in town and I found a lot of decorations for the house that are so cute. Bought a white pumpkin, a floral arrangement, table runner, and a small ceramic pineapple. Just love it all!

No ball games this weekend that we will attend. Brooke does play on Sunday in Greenwood but we won't be going as it'll be too hot. She got a call yesterday afternoon from her former coach asking her to play on his team just for last night. So she did and she played great. Got to play 1st base and got some great hits. She loves this guy but decided against playing on his fall league for playing "travel ball". Personally, I think she should have played for him!!

Well, I need to get a few things done. Going to do some baking on Sunday and get the church ironing done.

Hi Seesters. What a couple of days you all have had. It's hard to see our children in pain or suffering. It is something we can't do a lot about.

Tammy, it's so hard to see your children when they aren't themselves. I'm sure your son didn't feel all that good at the time. I'm assuming this was an upper scope? Anemia can be from cancer or a number of other things but all need to be checked out. Hopefully the plans are in place for the next round of testing.

I'm glad DIL's headaches aren't from something really awful. Sometimes the medication is to get through the headaches if other things don't work. It's hard to make it if you have one of those headaches and don't get help in time. She still can try other things before taking the medications.

It looks like your DD liked the venue? I hope so. I know they have been together a while. Hopefully this will work out for everyone.

TB, how fun to find someplace new to ride that isn't an arena. I think riding out on the land is more fun anyway, more relaxing at least. It's nice the land owner is willing to let you ride there. I've enjoyed hearing about how much you are finding to enjoy about your new home.

LG, you are sure working a lot for being retired.

SS, good luck visiting your DD and family. It's going to be hard for everyone when you go, but it will work out.

When does Tucker go back to his doctor about his eye?

Today is The Dinosaur's birthday. He turns 7. He is coming for the weekend and the kids are excited to celebrate his "birth end" as they now call it. Their dad isn't going to make a fuss about where they spend the birthday but has promised a big celebration on the weekend they are with him. He has baked the cake and will decorate it when they get here. He also has whatever else he needs to make the weekend a good one.

Have a good day everyone.

Tammy - it truly is difficult to see our children so vulnerable and even more so to see our grandchildren! But stay strong as your DS and DIL will cling to your stability the next few weeks. I will be praying. Good luck with DD and her finance. Another wedding for DD must make you nervous but if I remember correctly, she has been with this guy for a good long time and I believe you and Joe like him.

TB - your new home and life just gets better and better. So glad you found a new place to ride Red.

It is another 90+ day going on here. Nala and I have been been out walking and I have dusted and vacumned this morning. I am not planning on doing much more. I don't even have to cook dinner as we are going out to dinner w/DD, SIL and Tucker. It should be a fun evening although we have to break the news to them that we are leaving early and will not be here for Thanksgiving. The decision was made when they were in Disney and we wanted to tell them after their vacation. I am pretty sure DD will not be happy!

TB, that sounds like a very good day plus more to come!
I wasn't prepared for how upsetting it would be to see DS "out" when he came back to the room after the procedure. DD has been the almost never ending ill one and I have "steeled" myself there; DS hasn't been ill very often at all and never was.

The gastric scope showed a healthy "whatever", but in looking over DS's records, he noticed that DS had been anemic since at least Aug2016, which would have been when he was in the ER with his last kidney stone. Nothing was mentioned at the time. We did know that he had been anemic for the last few months when he finally got into a doctor. Because, anemia in 30 year old males plus weight loss isn't normal, the doctor wants to rule out colon cancer and within the next couple of weeks.

DILs MRI showed healthy brain, so her migraines plus dizzy spells remain a mystery. She is going to consciously drink more water and eat better to see if that helps. She doesn't like that her doctor just put her on meds without trying other things.

I am driving behind DD and fiance to check out a wedding/reception venue today. October 2018 was the last projected date I have seen.

Have a good day!

emoticon everyone:

Yesterday, my sister and I went for a walk around her neighbour's fields and came across a groomed trail that led off into the bush. Thinking it would be an ideal place to ride, we decided to explore it and several others that branched off it, and got lost! We eventually found our way back - it's hard to stay lost for long in a cultivated area like this one - but it was an adventure while it lasted. The neighbour says he doesn't mind if we ride there as long as we stay on the edge of the field and don't trample his crops. That will make a nice change from the riding ring and arena.

Morning!
We are off for community coffee in a few minutes. I will take my Atkins bar and enjoy the visit. I'm pretty sure since Gayla is living at her DD's, she will not come.

My weight was back down this morning. Not exactly to my lowest weight but coming back down. I get so mad that just a meal out can do that to me but like Tammy, my body is especially sensitive to sodium.

LG - it's nice that you get to display your work but my question to you would be - Will you get it back in time to use it yourself for the Holiday?

Tammy - I remember how anxious I was to see how I did on tests so I think it's nice that you quickly grade your exams. I said a little prayer for your DS that they can figure out what is going on inside his body and get him feeling better. He's too young to continue to suffer.

SEK - there is nothing cuter than a beagle puppy. I'm not sure I could pass it on to someone else but I'm sure your boss is very happy you did!

WG - how nice you could pitch hit as caretaker for Fabio so your DD could rest and feel better. Snow???? Yikes, I won't complain about the heat as I'd rather have that than the cold and snow!

Good morning, ladies!

Its another work day for me. Yesterday we are very busy but I had a lot of computer work to get done. When I got finished I finished up the Christmas pilloiw u was working on for a store sample. Now I need to get the binding on a Halloween wall hanging. It is mine but Sharynn asked if I minded to hang it at the shop.

WG, I've had days where I would feel woozie & then when I would eat something with natural sugar I was fine. I told my did about the problem & she recommended the natural sugar. I keep grapes here four that reason. Glad you are feeling better.

Sharon, I'm very glad to have the warmer temps back! It was hit in California but it was desert heat. But I sweat like crazy. Really hated coming back to the humidity. Glad you are winning!

SEK, you have my undying respect! A bus full of football players.....no thanks!!

PJ, you amaze me with your fitness classes! Keep it going!! Glad Frank us healing!

Tammy, I wouldn't want to have to grade all those tests either! The book is getting better.

Weezie2, I know you are very busy. But if you get a chance, drop by!

FYI to all....Sunday is Weezie1's birthday! Be sure to wish her a happy day!

Hi, Seesters,

Exams are graded and handed back to students as I prefer. My BF was sharing that she doesn't worry so much about handing them back the next class period when she heard the department head takes up to a week. I still prefer to get them back the next class period if I possibly can.

DS has his GI scope midday today. I am driving up to sit with DIL as she waits - perhaps take her to lunch if she feels she can. There are lots of eating places close to where the procedure will be done. Springfield, MO must be the "eating out" capital of the world. LOL
DS has been sick since the spring and she has been quite worried about him. She's not the only one. emoticon

This week is almost over, well sort of, the only day I don't have to go to a job is Sunday.

One of my bus families owns a hunting type company and they had a litter of beagles. They decided since I was such a nice bus driver (?) they would give me a puppy. Just what I needed, right?! Well, my bus boss and his wife were looking for a puppy so guess who really got the puppy. We picked it up last night and then they came over and got her. She is probably wondering what happened to her world.

Ladies have a good one it's off to work I go.

Hi Seesters. DD texted me this morning that she was sick and wasn't moving so I took her older kid, Fabio and we played all day. She got to sleep although she doesn't find sleep as healing as I seem to. She did feel a bit better this afternoon and her hubby will be home tonight.

SS, sorry about the slight increase. I'm sure if it is, you won't see it very long. I was complaining today that a week ago, it was in the 90's and we are expecting snow tomorrow. Not quite this low but I'll see it on my mountains by my house.

Sek, I can see you not wanting to sit and do much of anything. It is interesting how different yet alike we can be.

I'm going to head to bed early. I still like my sleep.

Have a great day.

Morning!
It is getting warm already this morning. Way too hot for this time of year. The next couple of days are supposed to be in the 90's. I think the a/c will be used and I'll spend time inside, perhaps dancing to reach my goals.

The darn sodium got me at the buffet. My weight is up this morning and I truly did eat well. I have no other answer so today I will be drinking lots of water!

WG - I'm glad you are feeling better. Not eating can definitely affect your body. Try to keep something in your system even if it's chicken soup. They found chicken soup even helps you.

SEK - we never get bored at the casino. Our friends like to play the slots that do all kinds of stuff. BUT, I'm partial to the Golden Bar Seven's which is the machine I keep winning my jackpots on. Yesterday, I won a $90 pot.

WG glad you are feeling better.

SS I'm glad you have fun at the casino's I get board real quick and I'm ready to go, winning or not, and it's usually not. LOL!

PJ I don't like the deep tissue thing it hurts, my friend does that and she always wants to give me one, she says I don't have to do deep tissue and I won't, never happens she always gets carried away. I don't complain 'cause it's free but I find an excuse not to go over when she calls and says I know you need a message because of your job come on over. She's also a neighbor.

Almost time to go, y'all have a good one.

Hi Seesters. I'm upright today but was feeling pretty awful. I think it was hunger. I haven't eaten much for several days. The dizzy, weak, etc. were probably low blood sugar as I felt better after I ate. I've still got some other symptoms but it isn't a big deal. A cold that is being naughty.

Sometimes I need to sleep to feel better. I wanted to sleep today but had grands so I didn't get to. I did call DD and tell her not to bring the baby but felt I could care for the others without exposing them to anything.

My security cameras are up and working again. It feels much safer. I have hated not having that extra layer of protection.

Sek, enjoy your trip. I do't blame you . Athletes tend to feel a bit privileged and do what they want. It is sometimes a problem, but I can see you keeping herd on the lot of them. Sorry you have to paint, but don't blame you if the place isn't ready.

Tammy, hope the exams get graded and are done. I think everyone has more tests these days. It is one of the ways to tell the students if they are going to make it. I remember a midterm and a final but would have liked some sooner. It also helps understanding the teacher's style of testing.

PJ, I agree about chairs. Furniture has to fit you and be comfortable. Get the stuff you enjoy. I'm sure you will find the right pieces. I'm glad Frank is doing better.
I missed telling you Happy Birthday. I thought about it but had laid back down and didn't want to get up again. I'm glad you had a massage. My sister loves the deep tissue ones but she does admit she is sore the next day. The nice part is the day or so after. Then she feel great. She loves her massages.

SS, what a sad day for you to have to say goodbye to a friend. It is hard to be the surviver as well. I'm sure she will struggle for a while and will always feel sad about what happened. I'm glad the casino worked out well for you money and food wise.

I've got grands coming again tomorrow and should be better. I didn't sleep well last night which means that I've finally caught up on that. It was very cool today compared to the last few days. Fall is coming. I don't want to have AC on at equinox on Friday. I also don't want to be wearing flip flops when the leaves turn.

Have a great day. I intend to.

Good Evening!
Gosh, we had a fun day at the casino. It's almost an hr's drive to our friends and then over another hour to get to the casino so it was a whole day! We left at 9am and got back home at 6pm. We ate at the buffet but I stuck to a salad, meat and some green beans. Both of us ladies were very good. The men - not so much! Then we play the slots. We all won a little - no big wins but we played for about 3 hrs. We all left happy!

I cooked up some scrambled eggs, spam and cheese for my dinner. I think I did well and like WG said, I would have been embarrassed to overeat!

PJ - I'm short so I can relate to the difficultly of finding a comfortable chair where my feet rest on the floor. Good luck in your search.

SEK - no, I can't imagine 45 HS football players in a restaurant but then I can't imagine driving a bus with them on it!

Tammy - now your exams make sense! I would not enjoy correcting them either.

WG - I sure hope today you're feeling better. If not, you better call your doctor!

LG - I'm good about wearing a seat belt in the front seat but I'm lax about it when I'm sitting in the back. You can bet, I wore my seat belt in the back seat today. I talked to Gayla who survived the accident last night. She's not doing well. She is very bruised and beat up from the seat belt but at least she's alive. Tammy's funeral was yesterday already. Gayla has been having flashback's of the accident and panic attacks so her DD is having her stay at her house until they decide she can live alone. It broke my heart when talking to her as it is so sad. She made the left turn and was looking directly into the sun. Never saw the oncoming car that hit them going about 45 mph. So, of course, she carries a lot of guilt over surviving and her friend dying.

PJ this Friday the boys have a football game at Linwood, we leave here at 1:30, so I guess they play at 5:30 - 6:00, but not sure. As far as I know they've never gone here before, it is far from our normal territory. I also don't know if it's 1 game or 2, which means Freshmen and then Varsity, I hope it's not 2, I'll never get home.

I don't care what your height, if a chair is not right, it's not right and not worth keeping.

Well another birthday has come and gone. Thank you for all the wishes and goodies. I did schedule myself in for a deep tissue massage. I will tell you I have had massages before but never a deep tissue type. And it was very different and hurt still a bit sore but it did help with my elbow (as I told her about that it was hurting) I will get massages again just don't think I will go for that kind. Also splurged and a piece of carrot cake which Frank and I split

LG don't you get massages now and then?

Yes Sharon we are trading the sofa I for a 2nd loveseat. For the same reason. I felt like Lillith Ann (Lili Tomlin from Laugh In) in that chair had to have a foot stool as my feet didnít touch the floor. No way I am living with that chair so more shopping to come later. The loveseats wonít make much difference as we both will have our own chairs and the loveseats will only be used by company. And everyone else is taller than we are.

I am so sorry to hear about your friends. So Sad. I didnít used to wear a seat belt until my grandmother was in her fatal car accident.

WG do you know what is wrong and have you gone to the doctor? Take care and seek medical help if you havenít already.

SEK when will you be in the KC area and where?

Today I enjoyed my Zumba Gold class and tried another new one at the new center a senior bootcamp and I loved it. She varies the exercises each week so it should stay interesting and hopefully get me out of my rut.

We also got some rain and a bit of cooler temps. Both welcome.

Yes, going to KC we will stop at Garnett, it's the 1/2 way point. The parents bring food for the team to eat after the game, I can't imagine taking 45+ football boys to a restaurant, not these boys anyway. It's bad enough stopping at a Quick Trip with them. They are only allowed water on the bus and half of them think that rule doesn't apply to them. Sometimes I think I need to strip search them.

I have a little break today, what needs done at my other job is something I don't want to do, I use the excuse I'm the painter, not the trash clean up lady, it works so I milk it. I know I'm bad. This house has broken windows, doors, walls, floors, and the new renter wants to move in this weekend, not happening. I will probably have to work tomorrow, but as for today, no.

Good morning, Seesters

WG, hope you are better - weren't you troubled with the same a bit back? emoticon

SEK, that would be hard for me. Do you stop with the students/sponsors/coaches to eat? I know when I traveled for a team, it usually included a stop. The drivers/sponsor/coach would usually get comped. I notice plenty of folks buying lottery tickets...

LG, how's the book? Did it improve as you got "into" it more?

I have half the exams graded. SS, they are the same as a test. We call the ones at the end of the course a "final." I need to get busy here in a bit on the last half.

Have a good day!

WG hope you feel better.

I have a full weekend, I told myself I wasn't going to drive trips on weekends this year, guess the other employees didn't get my memo as they keep quitting. I have a trip Friday night that will keep me out until at least midnight then I have to be back for a trip Saturday at 6:30 a.m. I need to win the lottery or something. It does keep me out of trouble. emoticon

SS sorry about your friend.

Hi Seesters. I've been down for the past couple of days. I'd get up, get dizzy and go back down. I'd wake up a couple of hours later and do the same thing. I'm up now but it isn't going to last.

SS,, I'm sorry about your friend. It is so hard when death is preventable. It sounds like fun tomorrow. You'll stay on track with eating also to help your friend.

Tammy, hope exams go well and you get time to correct them.

LG, that's a lot of sitting. Hope the book is a good one.

I'm going to take another break. Have a good day everyone.

Well, I've had a very full day.....chapel, SVDP, then went to get my nails done and then had a dr's appt. Just finished dinner and after I finish "sparking" I'm heading to the couch!

I'm reading a new book and not sure about it but I'll reserve judgement until I get a little further into it.

Sharon, that is awful about those 2 women. But I believe in seatbelts. I was in an accident years ago and I'm fairly positive that I wouldn't be here today if it had not been for the seatbelts. Sorry about your bad day at the casino.

Tammy, our schools have been in session for almost 2 months. So that isn't unusual around here.

PJ, sorry you have to return the chair. But one thing I've learned is that if you aren't happy do something fast.

WG, glad that you had a good visit with your family.

Have to work tomorrow and I'm hoping that I get a little time to do some sewing. I want to work on a table runner for the store.

Happy Monday!

It's foggy here this morning but once the fog burns off, I suspect we will have another nice day. It's been almost too warm the last couple of days (mid 80's). I'm ready for some days in the 70's.

Two ladies that live in our park were in a bad car accident this weekend and one of them was killed. It happened to be the lady that I gave all my 2X tops to a couple years ago. She was the passenger and was not wearing a seat belt. Very sad.

Spent some time in the casino yesterday and I had a bad day (guess I'm due) but Norm won a $171. jackpot! I know we've been going a lot but there are no casino's where we are going for the winter so as long as we're winning we will continue. In fact, we are going with our casino buddies to a different casino tomorrow. It will be a fun day out of town. I'm excited to see how she's been doing on her new LC/HF diet! I have been eating well and the scale is down again this morning. For those that were in the challenge, I am down an even 15 lbs from the start. I should be back in Onederland either this week or next but I'm not celebrating just yet!

Tammy - OMG! school just started and you are already giving an exam? Is that what you call a regular test now days. When I was in school, we only had exams at the end of each semester!

LG - I'll bet you were tired! I don't see myself sitting through 4 games for anyone! But, I know you are a devoted GM!

PJ - returning the chair? Didn't you decide the couch was too big as well? It's difficult to pick furniture out of a showroom that is huge. My last set was really large as well. It was OK in our big LR but when we moved here, I had to get rid of it. Good luck on finding the right replacement.

WG - I hope you had a nice visit with your SIL and that your kids could come. A little lunch together is a nice way to honor your brother's life.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, hope it was a good visit yesterday.

LG, have a good busy day.

I am giving Exam 1 today - approximately 75 students by the time the day is finished. I always try to return them to students by the next class period, which will be Wednesday. That may make Tuesday a looooonnnnnngggggg day as well. I DO choose to do this, so I am not complaining - well, not too much! LOL

Hello, everyone....

We are back from Brooke's softball games. She played 4 and they lost all 4 of them! It was awful. This team is new (at being together and haven't gelled yet). She did OK did have to sit for one complete game as they have extras.

I'm tired and need to get a few things done. So I'll be back tomorrow. I have chapel, SVDP, nail appt. and Dr. appt. So I'll be busy but will check in with you all in the evening.

Hi, Seesters!

We are back safe and sound. We were back just around 10 yesterday - so out and back in about 48 hours. We were just an hour and a half away, so that was good. We are thinking about our next little trip in it midmonth October.

I decided to mow the front yard this morning as there is a chance of rain all week.

I also decided this morning that my new living chair is just too big so that will be returned. Now Frank and I will still need to look for a new chair but no hurry until he is up to going and looking as we have our old ones to sit in.

Hi Seesters. It was a quieter day today. The guy who is finishing a couple of things in the basement was here for a bit. He will be back in two weeks maybe. It isn't cool but I'll live.

I had an appointment with the eye doctor. Eyes are still dry but still about the same. I really need the Restasis stuff but it isn't on my formulary and I can't afford it. I'm doing soaks and eye drops every two hours to keep my eyes moist.

Got some groceries as well. I've had nothing in the fridge for a couple of weeks. I had to clean out the fridge and haven't had time to go to the store so that is what it is. It was so nice to have veggies and fruits here again as well as some things I needed.

SS, hope your legs feel better now. It is nice that you were able to help with the park's party, but I have never enjoyed standing in one place for a long time. Nothing to do with age,. But the recovery does have to do with age. I'm glad your legs are in good shape from all your walking.

LG, sounds like you are busy with work. It's fun to learn new things that will help your embroidery. I'm sure you will be able to help the women learning so much better. Who keeps the display items when they are done?

Weezies, hope you are having a fun weekend.

It's finally cooled down and I'm enjoying the nice weather. Had lunch with the gunslinger for his birthday. They have a table at school and I took him his favorite lunch. He ate then hugged me and ran off to lunch recess. It was fun.

Tomorrow my SIL is having a short visit to the place we spread my brother's ashes.. I'm not going on the tram but will be there for lunch. I've got some cookies to make and some cantaloupe to cut up for lunch. I don't know how many of my kids are going to come but it will be fun for those of us who do.

Have a great day.

Frank is still progessing along He is still sleeping a lot at night and going to his barn during the day but not overdoing (I think he goes up there just to get out of the house as he has a chair and a tv up there. His tape is all off now and the incision looks good but need to soak off the dried blood.

I tried 2 new fitness classes this morning. The first one was too tough for me and I only did about 20 minutes of Piyo I can't keep up with those youngsters. The second class was a senior circuit did alright in that one but I am still pampering my elbow and will be glad when it is back to normal. Maybe my massage Monday will help that and my back.

Bought some more quilted material today to make a tablecloth to cover our freezer in the trailer. That will be my project for tomorrow.

Tammy hope you enjoy your little trip with your new to you camper.

Sharon sorry about your friendís diagnosis but it should help both of you to do it together

LG Iím glad your are having fun with your new projects MY GD is looking at buying a sewing machine Not sure how she thinks she will have time to sew with the 2 little ones. She wanted an opionion from me so I obliged by telling her that I bought a Janome and advised her to look for one with a threader and thread cutter built in.

WG wish your visit could have been a better one for both of you.

Morning!
I was busy all day yesterday, helping set up for our community picnic and then I was on my feet, standing in one place while I served burgers for 3 hrs. They ended up pulling me from the kids games to serving as I had experience doing that. I didn't mind but standing in one place killed my back. I ended up coming up and taking a Epsom Salt bath and laying on the heating pad. Today I am just fine.

So today is rest and relax. We have been on the go all week!

LG - I was so good with my eating yesterday (12 net carbs) so I hope my motivation keeps up. It's easy for a few days and then I struggle! I'm glad you had a fun day yesterday. I am sure you will enjoy Luke's game today but I can bet you are glad the season is winding down.

SEK - I keep running out of time and I'm retired. I can only imagine how hectic your life is some days! Thanks for checking in with us when you can though.

WG - sorry about the stressful visit with your SIL yesterday. My last visit with my sister was less than perfect as well. It's a long story I won't go into, but her family is facing a difficult situation. As I said, I never did the games but it's probably good as the kids were irritating me yesterday. From about 8-14 yrs old they were so greedy. Some ate 3 burgers and hot dogs too. And the cups of lemonade and ice cream was ridiculous. I kept telling myself that several of them probably haven't been full all summer so I excused it.

Tammy - hope you got to your campsite and parked with no issues. Now to enjoy a couple days in your new home away from home!

Good morning!

Yesterday was a fun day....I sewed for most of it! I finished a pillow top for a store sample. Darrell will quilt it & then I'll finish it up. It is one of those Kimberbell bench pillows for Christmas. Then I made a mug rug for our next embroidery class. I have a lot to learn about my machine....one thing I have to change bobbin cases between regular sewing & embroidery. I didn't realize that & my tension messed up some on the mug rug. But I may make another today. They are fun, easy & all in the hoop!

WG, I get the stress! I feel like I have too much going on in my life but don't want to miss anything either!

Tammy, enjoy your trip!

SS, it's always nice when you have someone to help you. I'm frustrated with myself. I can't seem to get my mind to where it needs to be.

Carmen played volleyball last night & lost. Luke plays soccer tomorrow & Brooke plays softball on Sunday. We will go to Luke's game as it is his last this year. We'll go to a couple of Brooke's games on Sunday. They could play from 8 am to 7 pm! Not going to do that!

Hi Seesters. Have had a busy couple of days. It seems to be that way with the grands. I had my SIL stop by yesterday. I wish the visit had been better but neither of us was in a place to visit so we just were stressed.

It's hard because I won't see her again until November.

SS, hope you have fun playing games with the kids. I'm sure others will wish they had followed your example

Tammy, enjoy your outing. It sounds right to make sure the TT works for you and you can handle it.

LG, hope work is good for you.

PJ, glad Frank is feeling better. Hope you got some things done today.

Will check in tomorrow. Have a great day.

Wow! Woke up this morning to fog as thick as pea soup! I walked Nala for our first walk and could barely see the cars coming until they were right on us.

My best friend found out yesterday morning that she is now diabetic. The dr told her to immediately go on a low carb diet and lose 50 lbs. Same as me two years ago! So she has watched me over the last couple of years and thinks she can do it. So starting this morning, we are both going to be serious about losing the weight. I think it will help me to know we are both working on it when we go out to eat.

That being said, today is our community picnic and both Norm and I will be working. I can eat a burger without a bun but not much else. I have to do the games with the kids so that will keep me busy and not thinking about food (I hope)

Had a very busy day at work and went in early as we had the embroidery class today. I'm tired and ready for bed.

PJ, glad that Frank is doing well. Sleep restores the body!

SS, that is very nice that you all planted a tree.

Frank slept about 13 hours last night he is now in recliner with TV on and reading one of his magazines and I am in my She Cave coloring with my pencils. It seems so different and quiet. He told me to go ahead and go knit today but I had already planned on not going. I will get out tomorrow and get my hair cut and get some things at the grocery store.

I will get out later and see if there are any tomotoes in the garden ready to pick. I will probably start back to my exercise classes Friday or may wait until next week. Not sure yet.

Good Morning!
Today our buddies are coming over. Nala loves Uncle Ron! But, the feeling is mutual and if he doesn't get over every couple of weeks, he is missing her. She sticks to his side the entire time they are here. We will go for lunch and then when they come back here, we'll have some dessert (my leftover streusel) and a nice visit. We value these days as with his health, you just never know.

Tammy - I think the sleep salve is a good idea. My DD loves her essential oils but I don't want to put out big bucks if I'm not sure it's for me. Your salve would give people a good idea of if they would like more.

PJ - how did the night go for Frank? I hope you both got some restful sleep. I know the bruising looks horrible but how is the pain? I hope it's minimal. Your chili sounds really good. It's the time of year that the fall and winter foods taste so good. That's why I made the apple streusel. It has the fall apples and pecans - yum!

Hi, seesters!

PJ, glad it the procedure is over and the resting/healing have begun emoticon emoticon DD's fiance's dad had the procedure done as well - and the bruising was mentioned there as well. I don't know yet what I am going to make emoticon I am kind of toying with the idea of a very simple recipe with some of my EOs - maybe a sleep salve with lavendar. That's my thought within 24 hours. LOL

SS, love the plaque and the sentiments...

WG, wow! Just wow! Did the fan work?

LG, glad it was a great time.

Got Frank home this afternoon. We are both tired and he is very sore and has a neck that looks awful. Hopefully he will get some much needed sleep tonight in our own bed. I don't think anyone sleeps good in a hospital They want you to rest but then bother you and have all these strange noises and machines going. But its over and now time for recovery.

Yes Tammy what are you going to make this year?

WG I would be so upset. Please please fix your doors so that doesnít happen again. That women is CRAZY.

LG welcome back sounds like it was a fantastic trip.

Sharon that sounds like a wonderful reunion and such a great way to honor the Vets.

I need to go warm up the chili I made yesterday for tonightís supper.

Good Afternoon!
This morning instead of our monthly breakfast with my graduating class, we had a 70th Birthday Party at a pavilion in a park. Most everyone has turned or is turning 70 this year. We also had a tree planting ceremony in honor of all our Vets and as a tribute to our classmates who we lost in service to our country. Every vet got a hand written letter from Governor Rick Snyder and we had a taped video from our Congressman Huizenga. It was a really nice brunch and most of our remaining classmates were in attendance.

Of course, Norm was asked to make a plaque on a post and he was honored to do it.

LG - glad you had a successful trip and are back home. We missed you while you were gone! Loved the pics on FB.

WG - I would be miffed as well. I'm sure she will try to use this against you and your DS. Was she even supposed to come to pick her up? I doubt you would have been in the shower if you were expecting her! Nala's ear is doing much better. At least she's not scratching at them anymore.

Tammy - I hope your haircut is better than my last one. I went in and told her I want the same style, and it's been 5 wks. No Problem, right? Wrong - she cut is completely different! I will not go back to her again! I hope you have decent weather for the first time out with the new RV. It should be a fun time.

PJ - we are all thinking of you and praying Frank is doing well.

Hello, Seesters.....

We are back and so far no jet lag. Got up a bit later than normal this morning though. Didn't have to work but am working Wed thru Fri. All our laundry is done and I can't believe that I got it done so fast. We have gone to both the grocery store and Wally world. So the pantry is well stocked again.

We had such a fabulous time! We stayed at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Very old hotel but all updated. Not sure how people afford to live out there!! We had shuttle service to and from the LACC. Security was very high as George W. Bush was there but it was high all weekend. We had to have badges (which we wore around our neck) to get into everything. Got to meet all the "boys" on the team and was so proud when the USA won the Walker Cup back from Great Britain & Ireland! People were chanting USA! USA! After all the festivities were over, we all went back to the hotel and the team threw Spider (fully clothed) into the pool!

We met some very old friends that we haven't seen in way too many years who came from Reno, NV to watch Spider and the boys. Although, Spider does play of course. We went to the golf course every day before 8 am and didn't get back to the hotel until 8 p.m or later. One night we were all so tired that we just went to the pool area and instead of dinner we had dessert and drinks. I had cheesecake that was to die for.

The weather was perfect every day and the sun was hot. The only "problem" I had was that I can't wear hats so the top of my head got sunburned on Sunday. I had a hat but it gave me a headache the first day. Most days we found a shady spot and stayed there. But over all we walked the whole course (18 holes)! On Sunday when we realized that the USA had won, we started to walk (very fast) back to the #18 green to be there when it was declared that we had won. My fitbit actually said that I got 30 minutes of aerobic walking in!! My sister Mickey has had both knees replaced and she doesn't do well on hills and this course is very hilly. And as they say if it goes down, it has to go back up! Thomas got cramps in his legs on Saturday night from doing the hills.

Our flights were uneventful and I thank God for that!

My brother's place in Florida is OK and so is Kathy's. Her house on Sea Island didn't have any substantial damage that I know of. So they are both good.

I did read all the posts but I'll just begin again tomorrow. We are going to Carmen's volleyball game tonight.

Hi Seesters. I've got a minute. Just Enterprise is here and he is watching his airplane movie. We'll have lunch in a bit and do something this afternoon.

I am having some livid moments. This morning I made sure the littles were fed and sitting down watching a movie and I jumped in the shower. It was a short shower. When I came out, Miss McGullicudy was gone. Her mother had showed up at the house, knocked on the door. The three year old answered it and her mother took her.

No word from her or her mother. No notice, no call. Just took her. I know because my DS heard about it. And my cameras weren't working!

It does constitute kidnapping which is taking a child during the parent's non custodial time without consent or knowledge. But I doubt DS is going to do anything about it.

I have a child knob for my lever door handle (for my arthritis) and will have to put that on now so she can't open the door without my knowledge. And perhaps an alarm system as well. Who knows?

Tammy, hope the hair appointment works well for you. I have fine hair so it never looks all that thick. It used to be thicker and less fine, but now it isn't much of anything, but it still grows as well. My mom's family has this female baldness thing where the womens hair quits growing on top and they only need to cut the top once or twice a year.

PJ, hope Frank is doing well today.

SS, are Nala's ears improving?

I'm going to get some things done. My SIL is back from Russia and her son who is 2 only speaks Russian. She wants him to play with his cousins so he will learn English again. He has been with his grandparents in Russia all summer and has a Russian sitter when he is here in the states.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

I have a necessary hair cut scheduled for this morning. It seems that my hair grows so quickly - wish it would grow less quickly and more thickly. emoticon I have some other errands to run as well before teaching tomorrow. On Thursday, we are driving up to our favorite state trout park to spend a couple of first-nights-in-the-new-to-us-trailer.

One of my friends asked yesterday - "What are you making this year that I can buy for my friends' Christmas gifts?" - she has purchased the ribbon yarn necklaces and the cowl scarves that I have made in the past. It kind of took me by surprise as I haven't had anything in the works - actually haven't thought about anything new since last fall. emoticon

PJ, was glad to see your update on FB re Frank emoticon

Hi Seesters.

PJ, so glad Frank is out of surgery and doing well. I hope he continues to do well. Take care of you as well.

SS, hope DD and family are doing well. So glad Irma isn't as bad as it was supposed to be. Still a lot of storm, though.

Tammy, good for you getting a better TT. It needs to work with you and it sounds like the one you have now will be the better fit. Teaching always seems to be interesting.

Sek, hope the kids behaved today.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

The first of my two work days is done, and I am glad. Some lessons "flow", today's lesson never does and it just makes it seem longer. Most days are not like that, though, and I am glad.

SS, the author that I gave you last week - I checked out another by her which is about some Dutch settlers to Michigan - let me know if you would like to know more.

It was cool enough here this morning for me to grab my robe before leaving the bedroom for the bathroom. It felt good!

I think I posted this spring about the going-to-be-a-glamper travel trailer that we bought. There were some repairs, for sure, but it never got to the glamper stage. The sleeping arrangements weren't the best and we began to look at some newer ones that had better sleeping arrangements as well as some other things that we thought were "must haves." Late last week we brought a three year old travel trailer home and this morning the older one sold to someone who travels doing construction work. Our two little trips in it as well as the driving experience which I got towing was well worth the $100 hit we took on it. LOL Joe had listed it last Wednesday night and it sold this morning to someone who came and looked at it yesterday.

It is almost time to go begin supper. Hello to all!

Morning!
We are glued to the TV already watching The Weather Channel about Irma. Still worried about my DD & family but Disney is taking good care of them.

We woke up to 40 degree temps but it is already 55 and going up to low 60's. It is sunny and the wind is calm. It's hard to think of what people in the path of Irma are experiencing!

Short check in this morning as now I have to go figure the final week's summary for our challenge!

Hi, Seesters!

PJ, yes, the movies/series are thru Amazon Prime. It's really amazing. I'm not certain of all the proper terminology - Joe handles all this stuff - but we "cut the cord" some months ago. Both my kids have Amazon plus Netflix. We also bought a fire stick, an outside antenna, and a Tablo. Like I said, I know that I can't talk about it intelligently. LOL

WG, I read the article and was curious about the fundraiser so I checked. I don't know how long the fundraiser had been going, but it was more successful than I lot that I have seen. That is great to have some success there - and I know it isn't enough - in such a very hard time.

PJ I like the pics. Tell Frank hi from us and we are praying for you and him. Mike says we need to get together for a good visit.

Since I worked today I have tons to do tomorrow here at home. I have a busy week at work already lined up, meeting on Monday, training on Tuesday, meeting on Wednesday, and I'm not answering my phone when it gets close to the weekend.

Y'all take care.

Been a busy week. Tuesday Frank had all his presurgery labs done. Surgery time has changed about 3 times it is now 10:45 on Monday. He clipped his beard down to about ľ to Ĺ inch long which they said he could do and if the hospital wanted more off they would do it. The first thing I said was how much Frankís baby brother looks like him and I can see his dimples

I chauffered the youngest DS and DIL to pick up a new to them Tahoe. Now they have a reliable vehicle with 3 rows of seats or can take the 3rd row out. It will be much better for them and the growing boys.

Furniture was delivered on Thursday and it didnít take us long to decide the sofa was just too big so I called and we will exchange it for a 2nd love seat to be delivered In October as it is out of stock right now. We both love the furniture. I sewed up a valance and got it hung up yesterday.

Today I am doing laundry and tomorrow will be a relaxing day but I am going to do a bit of cooking ahead. For some soft things incase Frank wonít or doesnít want anything too solid. We are both a bit nervous but it will all be fine.

WG sounds like a win for you with DS wanting the internet and you get the benefit.

Tammy I donít know much about Amazon Prime are movies part of the benefit if you have prime. I might need to check that out. As we/I do a lot of shoppig using Amazon.

SEK what a bummer having to work this weekend. GRRR

Weezie sorry to hear about your family but glad they can get our safely and away from Irma.

LG didnít your brother just move to Florida. Is he safe?

Sharon sounds like you will be heading out to Texas sooner than planned Norm will be a big help to them and it will help with your winter expenses.

Both ends of the living room.

Sun room office theatre seating from new trailer which we replaced with a new recliner so the trailer would have more room for our freezer and more comfort for Frank.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Good afternoon Seesters. I've been to soccer games all morning. Slept poorly last night so I'm bushed. It's a toss up between being tired all day and taking a nap. Neither is a good choice.

It looks like LG is enjoying her vacation.

SS, congrats on the win. It is nice that your winter is paid for.

SEK, hope you don't have to drive again. It is too much to have to deal with the kids all week and on the weekend. It better have paid well.

Weezie1, glad you have the grands here for the day/weekend. It sounds like you have fun plans for all of you. It's good that you are willing to step up and be Ava's grandmother. I know you love her but with all the drama, it would have been understandable to walk away from all of it.

I hope that sister camp comes together. That is hard for everyone, but your sister in Florida with her DH so ill it has to be a hard decision.

My friend's son who is still in Italy should be coming home very soon. They had a lot of drama trying to get him onto a commercial flight but he has one side paralyzed and has always been a bit of a free spirit. He doesn't take direction well. I'm sure it is best that they hired an air ambulance to take him home. They had his story on the news. www.ksl.com/?sid=45719679&nid=14

It isn't going to end well and I feel badly for everyone but he needs to come home to be with his family for the things to come. And, of course, they don't have insurance.

Gotta run. The fridge part is "delayed" but is still supposed to come today. We'll see. I still have the small fridge and have contingency plans. Tammy, I do understand replacing things. I had one picked out and in my cart but really don't want to spend the money until I have to.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!

Not much happening here so far. Norm is out working for our park and I've gotten some bill paying and organization done. Now I'm about to make a large salad with chicken tenders on top for lunch. I make home made Thousand Island dressing that we both enjoy.

Weezie - we are also watching Irma closely. Our DD, SIL and Tucker are at Disney World. They seem optimistic that everything will be fine. They are closing Disney World today at noon and will be closed 'til Tuesday. They are making quite the adventure out of it but I wonder if they will be able to resume their fun on Tuesday!

SEK - I am so sorry they called you to work. What is this, like the first weekend since school started! Didn't take long.

Tammy - It was a big win for me too! Between my first jackpot and this one, our expenses for the winter are covered. Thank you Gun Lake Casino!

WG - faster internet that you don't have to pay for - lucky lady! Crossing my fingers that the frig problem is the fan. That would be a simple fix.

Well, off to make our salads. Chat later!

Good morning all,

I had the youngest grandson overnight (4 year old) and he did great! Now we gotta get around and get to Ava's soccer game. Her mom is going to get her there and then hand her off to us for tonight. Hoping the temp warms a bit as it would be fun to take them to a pumpkin patch nearby to run and play this afternoon. 4 year old goes home this afternoon. His parents are in a golf outing and took the older one with them. So it was nice for them to get a little one-on-one for all parties.

Been watching the hurricane. Two sisters had to evacuate and sister camp is on hold. We were to leave two weeks from yesterday but who knows what things will look like once Irma is done devastating FL. The eldest sister just went north with their community and middle of the state so they'll get some but not like expected. They live right on the water in Juno Beach but now with the shift of things, the other sister on the other side (where sister camp was to be) is going to get hit harder it seems. I have no concept and really don't understand why some think trying to ride out is a good idea. Then what? If you have no landline phone you likely have no phone service, no water, no nothing. Then what. Scares me for sure and I know of several who are going to stay and ride out. Some family or friends who moved down from MI and have never experienced so have no idea what they are in for. Then Jose is following suit. These and earthquakes and such, what crazy times for sure.

So not much else happening other than the crazy expectations at work. I just keep thinking one more year. I WILL get out and go do something else after I turn 60 if not sooner. My boss hasn't given her notice but everyone but the Supt has been informed she's done. Oughta get interesting. Audit is happening too so trying to deal with these folks on top of all the beginning of year stuff makes for some long hours. My steps are in the tank as I've not been getting on TD. This too shall pass but for now, I gotta try to keep the anxiety from work from getting to me and sleep when I'm able.

Do hope you all have a nice weekend and I'll check back again soon!

Hi, Seesters!

WG, now I see how you are getting free internet, and how nice that it will be faster! We love our Amazon Prime and feel we have plenty to watch just from that. We don't have Netflix - yet. I do hope the fan is indeed the problem with your fridge. It is good when those problems can be solved without replacing.

My DS spent a few days troubleshooting a problem with his dryer - and after the time/buying what he had read was the problem - he went and bought a new one last night emoticon

SS, glad for your big win! At least it would be a big win to me. emoticon

Hi Seesters. It's a bit quieter here today as I just had Princess Sofia for a while. I may get Snow White soon for a bit as her mother is busy today.

Tammy, the Internet is a cable one that DS wants because it is faster. It is his choice and he has decided to pay. This is helpful as my income has dried up. It doesn't cost much more and I'll enjoy having the improved function. I have never had cable but still have Amazon Prime and he has Netflix. I have plenty to watch.

I'm glad you were able to use your cooker as a crock pot. I've used mine as well, but not recently. I don't usually do much during the summer. Mostly salads and other things. It sounds like your "kitchens" are all stocked.

SS, I'm sure you and Norm will be great help at the picnic. What games have you got in mind?

My fridge is still chilling, at least the freezer. DS believes it to be the fan. We'll know when the replacement arrives. It is pretty inconvenient having a fridge not working. I can live without the stove/oven or the microwave for a while. I can even live without the washer and dryer as I can visit the laundromat. But without a fridge is a bit inconvenient. I do have a small one for milk but it will be an interesting weekend. Fortunately the freezer outside still works.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, how is free internet possible? It would be good for my budget as well. I would need to be able to stream stuff for our television. I have certainly enjoyed not paying direcTV, dish, etc for the past few months after we "cut the cord." I do hope someone showed up for you.

I used the PowerCookerXL slow cook function yesterday to help with assembling our first-of-the-season chili. I was quite pleased with it. I had kept a crock pot in the cabinet, but think it is going out to the little camper. I have one already in the fifth wheel and it occasionally comes in handy.

My ipad is not charging very well - not sure if it is the ipad or the charger. Grrr....

LG, hope you are having a great time!

Weezie2, how is the longarm business progressing?

Good Evening!
We went to community coffee this morning and then Norm and I stayed after for a short organizational meeting about our Community Picnic next week Thursday. Our Activity Director once again has outdone herself. It should be a great picnic. Norm will be cooking burgers and hot dogs. I will be doing the games for the kids!

Then this afternoon we went for our weekly trip to WalMart for groceries. Had lunch at Subway and then home again. It has been raining most of the day but I exercised when I got home with Richard (not Zumba) so I surpassed my step goal for the day.

LG - I hope you enjoy your trip!

Hi Seesters. Internet is being replaced today so I've got a few minutes.

Yesterday went to pot very quickly. My fridge isn't working right. It is still cooling a bit but the ice maker isn't working and food was thawing in the freezer. I've tossed everything or sent it to a child's home and got my DIL's small "dorm fridge" and have milk and things in that for the kids this weekend. It will be interesting this weekend for sure.

I'm not sure if it needs to be replaced but will know by tomorrow. That means no fridge until some time next week.

I'd spent the afternoon cleaning and the kids came over to help me, so guess what? It wasn't clean for the church ladies to visit DS about his kids and it isn't clean for today when the Internet guy comes.

I've got things to do at home today so I'll survive but taking all day to do this thing is annoying. The upside is that I won't be paying for Internet any more. It will be good for my budget.

The guy is supposed to come and finish his work in the basement. We'll see. That was the same thing he said three weeks ago and he blew off several phone calls.

LG, have a good trip.

Tammy, it's nice that you have time to get things done at home.

I'm going to go and get some more done. It will be interesting this weekend with limited cold. At least I'm not having the kids for dinner.

Have a fun day everyone.

Hi, Seesters!

Safe travels, LG!

Lots of chores the next four days before I return to work on Monday...almost enough chores to make you think getting back to work will be a "vacation" of sorts. emoticon

I've used MSN for my spark email and the only time I've had problems have been when I have checked in on my phone and then not replied in some manner. Or at least that's what I think has happened.

Have a good day!

Hi Seesters. It's going to be another hot one today. Up near 100.

There is a fire a few miles north so the moon was blood red and the air is nasty. It was mostly brush but a few homes were destroyed. They were the bigger homes up on the hillside with pools and terraced with buildings and things. It's always sad to have such things happening.

LG, enjoy your trip. Hope work isn't too busy. I'm glad the funeral dinner went well. Most of the time I think that employers are pretty good at working with people even if there isn't an actual paid leave day. Depends on the type of employee.

I had to change to Gmail a few years ago as well. I'd used my other addresses and this one seems to work well. No problems.

Judy, sorry you lost your streaks. It's not fun. I'd take some of the cooler weather.

SS, glad you are going down to help. I'm sure they can use a good pair of hands or two. It will be nice for you all. Hopefully it won't be too bad by the time you get there.

I've got to get going. Getting new Internet tomorrow so I need to clean up the back room where it comes in. The grands had fun in there yesterday. Some women from the church are coming to visit DS tonight. I'm sure it is about the kids and their needs, but I have to clean up a little.

Have a great day everyone.

When I used Yahoo mail, I was not getting my emails from Spark. I was told by the Tech team that because so many emails from one source in a day, Yahoo blocks them. They don't even show up as spam. They suggested I switch to gmail as gmail acknowledges Spark People. I did and have had no problems since. That was about 5 years ago so I'm not sure that is your current problem but gives you something to think about.

According to SeaBreeze, locals have been helping them during the emergency status. But they are asking Snowbirds to come as a Relief Team by Nov 1st. By then they should have w/e/s at all sites back. They will compensate those that come to help. So of course, Norm is ready to go and help. We will be leaving and headed there by the end of next month.
