I'm so tired tonight....went and got my nails done and then came back and went to the museum and rolled pie dough for 4 hours.

I'm like WG, I've read all the posts but I'm just too tired to comment. I'll be back tomorrow evening. We have a quilt show at the museum. A lady here in town is a collector and has wonderful quilts. She is going to show some of her pink, red and white quilts that are all old. Should be lots of fun.

Hi Seesters. A quick stop in. it's been crazy in my life. The house is totally quiet. I'm relishing the peace for a minute.

Have read the posts but they have been so long ago that it feels like another week. I did read and love you all for sure.

Tammy, hope things are better for you now. Hate having concerns about health.

Weezie2, love the car. I think about the 4wd when I drive in the snow. The rest of the time, I love my little car. I love bells and whistles. Did you get your CD player installed?

Smog is awful here. It is a "don't go outside for any reason" sort of day. The mixture of smoke and fog makes it miserable and dark. 100 feet up the sun is shining and it is 30 degrees warmer.

Going to vacuum cracker crumbs then I'll head to the machine to sew. I've got a quilt top cut out and want to finish it. Then on to the next thing. I'll put this one together next week.

Have a great day.

I forgot just how long it takes to finalize a car sale. I was there for over 4 hours. I promised pictures so here goes. I thought my other car was loaded...Holy cow this has so many things not available 10.5 years ago when I bought the other.

Busy week here in the park lots of things going on plus I went fishing also. The weather has been fantastic so I wanted to enjoy it. We move to our other campground (East Texas) leaving Sunday and will arrive there Monday afternoon The weather there is usually much cooler but still better than back home.

They had a birthday party last night for 2 90 year old men so I did partake in a small piece of cake and a bit of ice cream.

Lots of walking being done as well as Zumba this morning,

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Hi, Seesters!

I got into the library yesterday, but not the sewing room and did not get the exams graded, but it was a very good day, so I won't complain.

Have a good day!

On a good day I've never had 20,000 steps My feet hurt just reading about your steps. Wow....congrats.

My scale is still moving so I'm a happy G'ma. I have now lost as much as my youngest granddaughter weighs. I'll think of that every time I pick her up now. We went to see my mom yesterday. Claire loved watching the birds and walking around the activity room. She was non stop the entire time we were there to visit.

We have your freezing temps too. It's only 5 and should reach a high of 19.....brrrrr.

I need to get the rest of my things out of my car so I can bring it to the dealer. It's kind of bitter sweet to move it along but like I've said earlier I need a safe vehicle for my grand babies and for my travels. I'll have to see if they can install a CD player for me. I really don't want to download all my music on memory sticks to be able to listen to it. I would be nice if the car companies realized that us "older folk" prefer our music that way.

Have a Great Thursday!

Hope that all are healing or feeling much better.

I'm a bit tired today. I got 28K steps yesterday!! Weezie pushed me like crazy! My younger sister called and we talked for an hour so I walked. Then my DD called and I walked for 35 minutes while she drove home from work. My older sister called and we talked for an hour and 20 minutes. So that is how I got 28K steps!! Hope that I can manage 18 today!!

My eating has been good the last couple of days so I'm looking for at least a 1 lb loss on Saturday.

We are having another very cold day here.....6 degrees. At least not much wind. So not as bad as yesterday. Just saw where we are going to get the Polar Vortex. Don't know what it is but doesn't sound good to me!

I have sewing circle tonight and I'm looking forward to it.

Becky, sorry about the teacher issue. Not a good way to start the school year.

Weezie, you are going to have to give this old lady a break!!

Hey, Seesters!

I was in and out of my doctor's appointment within 30 minutes...wow! I am being treated as if I have an autoimmune skin disorder of the type for me to go to an obgyn [again, a miracle that I got to see MY doctor on the next day after I called], and it is quite literally a pain in the keester. I have a steroid cream; I had already done everything to maintain the status quo as it were and it was time to go see him. I guess I shall research some things to help to have as healthy an autoimmune system as I can. There's a family history of autoimmune disorders, but I don't know that it is any worse than any others. My reading of the actual likely diagnosis says that I am just about the right age for this to occur - well, gee, I could have done without it, and I will have to be watched for pre-cancerous changes periodically, but we all have stuff we deal with, right?

With Monday being a holiday, I now have the next 6?7? days without needing to report to campus. I have an exam to greade; I need to get that out of the way, I think.

Geee, Becky, what an inconvenience...of course she did the right thing for her long term, but STILL, what an inconvenience. I remember that the largest school district here was notoriously late to hire, and we occasionally lost teachers at the last minute to that school district. As long as it wasn't math or science, it wasn't too hard to find someone to fill that slot, but how hard to come in and know you weren't the first choice, etc.

I need to get in that sewing room today! Not only "get in", but actually sew! LOL!

Good morning all,

Just wanted to pop in before heading to work. I was really hoping for another snow day but the snow machine must of quieted a bit over that way. The town I work in is right in the snow belt for the lake effect so it usually gets it good. But not enough I guess to give us an extra day. Only bad thing about yesterday was it was 'count' day so we have to get permission from the State to make it today instead. Like they won't approve it? Seriously? LOL AT any rate, letting the car warm before heading out.

Yes, I was sort of crazy yesterday and after I got word school was off, I decided to get back on the treadmill for a bit. Then got to my sewing room a bit and nearly have the robe for Ava's doll done. What a mess this stuff is. Like minky fabric (for those of you who sew) so what a mess. I also did housework and got to the store yesterday before having to get to Mass last night. So I did a bit over 30k yesterday (roughly a bit over 14 miles). I haven't done this in a very LONG time. This morning I was dragging, of course, so I'll be lucky to see 10k. LOL

This weekend the RCIA group has their Rite of Election/Sending ceremony so a long day at church for sure.

Read through the posts but no time to respond to all. Do hope you all have a great day!

This school year is starting off on the wrong foot. My teacher left on the second day of school to work for the Ministry of Education (government). They offer much better benefits and if she didn't take this job they would take her off the list for future employment. I am happy for her but it is certainly a difficult situation. emoticon

Wow! I stopped by here early this morning but didn't have time to post so headed to Mass at 8:15. When I got home Thomas and I had to make a Walmart run. Then I headed to the sewing room.

Weezie has had the day off due to snow so she is killing the steps. She has pushed my a$$ to get 23k. She is close to 30K. emoticon

Tammy, hope all is well.

Weezie2, you are doing so great with your weight loss and I'm so envious as I'm not losing as fast as I'd like.

Judy, you have my utmost respect....I couldn't drive a school bus. I'd be up on murder charges within a weeks time!!

Have a great evening.

Hi, Seesters!

I've almost survived my week of exams - I gave two on Monday and they are graded; I give the other today - not so many students taking and will have several days to grade since Monday is a college holiday. DH and I thought about taking the motorhome to Branson for a few days, but the weather isn't going to be so good, so we won't.

I have an impromptu doctor's appointment this afternoon after I get off work; a problem that I had for awhile last summer has reared its ugly head again, so I do hope to get some relief this time. I am happy I get to see my actual doctor, but was ready to see whichever doctor could get me in the soonest.

A new Jeep - I would love one! I am the slightest tiny bit envious. [Is that good to admit during Lent? emoticon ]

Things are moving in the right direction. The part came in they needed to fix my current car. I should get that back later this afternoon. I'm dropping off the rental this morning. A Kia Soul does not have the traction I'm use to with my 4 wheel drive. Tomorrow I will clean and vacuum my car. The new jeep doesn't have a CD player so I want to see if they can install one for me. Hopefully I can get my jeep on Thursday. I'll make sure I post a picture. I've certainly talked enough about it. emoticon

I watched Claire yesterday. She can really brighten my day. She loves my dog and was even giving him treats. It was fun to watch. Last night they had an open swim for the school district employees so I went "swimming" with Kami and Karl. I swam a few laps then played monkey in the middle with a beach ball. She is starting to float on her back really well.

I need to start watching all the older Disney Princess movies with Kami. They are talking about Disney World next summer and I think she would enjoy it more if she knew who they were. I think Florida would be more enjoyable another time of the year emoticon

Have a Great Tuesday!

Glad you ill folks are better. I'm back to my new exercise program, and I'm feeling it.

WG I love a quiet house, and messy is just fine to go with that.

I have a new bus monitor. It's an older guy, retired teacher, and one of the drivers hubby. My other monitor got fired one day while I was off the bus last week. I take second graders 3 blocks from one school to the next that are enrolled in the after school day care. Now I think it's ridiculous that we bus these kids, but we all know how tender they are and can't walk outside. Yes, I'm being sarcastic! Anyway she went ballistic, told the bus driver (new and I guess didn't know she was in charge) to pull over because she was kicking the lot of them off and they were going to walk to school. Now I would love to do this on any given day, but I also have a brain. As you might have deduced, this did not bode well for her. I am glad she is gone, she was a thorn under everybody's saddle anyway. My problem is, the monitor is supposed to sweep and keep the bus clean. How do I tell an older man he is supposed to do this when he grew up and lives with a woman that does that? I know you all know where I'm coming from. You know men's work and women's work?

Well I better go almost time to pick up the little darlings.

Y'all have a terrific Tuesday!

Hi Seesters. Home from work and a quiet house. Messy but quiet.

Weezie1, what a softie you are. I missed something about the cat as well. Maybe it was a bit ago. Glad the boss is home. It is usually less stressful then.

Weezie2, I'm so glad you had a fun time at Disney. It is funny how the kids don't know all the princesses. I'll have to get out the movies again for the girls. They will enjoy it. They are a bit young right now, but they will enjoy soon.

SS, it doesn't seem like very long at all. That's not much time. First of April? Since it gets cold here until after Mother's day, I'm all for avoiding the weather for a bit longer. Fickle but cold at times. Glad you are getting out a bit. I'm sure the weight thing was soft tissue injury. When you have pain like that, there is usually swelling. It should be improving as your mobility improves. The swelling goes down and pain goes down. Fluid lost.

Tammy, hope today was a good one at school.

I'm off to putter a bit. Grands tomorrow and I'm determined to get some good sleep tonight. Have a nice night.

Hello, ladies.....

Just getting here. Mondays are always busy for me with Chapel, SVDP, and then chores here. I didn't get the church laundry this week and will do it next week. Father is fine with that.

Weezie, glad that the boss was gone today. Has she said any more about the "paper" going into your permanent file? And what happened to the cat? I must of have missed something!

Judy, you should have a great time with your DGD. I'd love to have mine for a week!

WG, we did make pies in November but this is the biggie! We are starting a bit earlier this year. Last year we had some problems with the crust at the end as some one else measured out the ingredients. So we are re-doing the recipe to see if we can't get it so that any one can do it.

Tammy, there are days that I feel that way and when I do...I usually just sit on the couch and read! Lots more fun!

PJ, days off are good! We need those at times.

Weezie2, I hear you about someone infringing on your "space". I really hate it. Airplanes are the worst I think!

Sharon, only 54 days....WOW!! That isn't very long. But that just means that we are getting warmer here.

See y'all tomorrow.

Good evening all,

Well, I'm back among the living and now the boss is feeling worse so she went home sick today and I half expect she'll take tomorrow off since she is scheduled for a meeting for 2 hours in the morning. Our Supt thinks it is prudent to 'meeting' folks to death and she's pretty much over it. So she is in one of those moods so we're all quite glad she decided to go home and be miserable there.

SS, glad you're doing better and the heating pad helps. You wouldn't enjoy the cold here I'm sure.

PJ, I understand about the day off. I did that on Friday and still ended up with 7k. I'm not sure how but I did manage to work on the t-shirt quilt for the friend so just need her to decide on the backing. I will be sure to share. Nothing fancy but happy to put the shirts into something rather than pitch them.

Judy, hope the time with the GD was FUN!!

Becky, the photo of school is very sweet. My little Ava is 6 and she was so excited yesterday as she has learned enough sight words and able to start sounding out words that she was able to read to us. We got some little books call Biscuit books (Biscuit is a dog) and she can do it and was very proud.

Weezie, glad Disney on Ice was a hit and I'm sure a tradition will be glorious. I'm sure Claire will want to join the fun when she gets older. Did you get a new vehicle?

Tammy, how are classes going?

WG, glad you're able to be there for your DS and the grands.

LG, hope your day was good and the rain/snow stuff quit. What a mess for sure. Our snow coming down is very pretty but sadly, it won't amount to much. A snow day would be nice!

Okay, I need to get my rear around for tomorrow. Oh, the cat is still with us. DH took him back to the vet today and he's actually gained a pound. We cut out the dry cat food and he's on nothing but meat. He likes the canned chicken best. And, he's drinking milk instead of water. Not sure he'll regain his eye sight but so far he's improving some. This vet is something. There was no charge for today's visit. You pay for an office visit/exam once and it is good for a year. So unless we decide to do blood work or anything, the visits remain at no charge. Not sure how he survives but I'm not complaining. So we'll take him back in a couple of weeks and see how things go.

Hope you all had a great day and wish you all a great week!

This will be a quick hello.

I have the granddaughter here this week, so my morning schedule is all messed up. I have to get her up in a minute for breakfast so she can get ready to go to work with me to get to school. Her mom had to go to Canada for the week with her work. I think this will be a long week.

Ladies hope everyone is better.

Take care and have a marvelous Monday!

Good afternoon Seesters. Home from church. Miss McGullicudy is in the room next door trying her hardest not to nap. She is a cutie. The others are watching a movie. In about 90 minutes the rest (minus the girls) will be here for dinner.

Have food in the garage already cooked. Chicken is done. Have rice done. It is just a matter of heating up and eating. We are doing Chinese for the new year so it is easy. I've got red envelopes for money for the grands. DS will keep his money here so the kids can go shopping with him. They need to do "normal" together.

Becky, love the photo. It's nice the school is yours on your lot. It is a lot of work but it is also nice for you to be so close. I'm sure you will enjoy the year and the misbehavior is something that happens then goes away when the children learn they can't get attention for that sort of thing.

LG, it seems like pie making was just a couple of months ago. I know you do it well before the Shipsee vacation, but it seems like later than this. No more poppy seed bread?

Tammy, enjoy your day off. Resting is a good thing.

PJ, my son has twitching legs. He does better with a lot of blankets on his legs. I'm making a weighted blanket that is #25 for his legs to help them "settle." I hope it works for him. I've been reading that it helps some kinds of RLS.

I get burning cramps sometimes but not often so I'm going to tough it out for a while. i do better when I've been moving during the day and not overdoing. Sitting still is very hard for me.

SS, glad you are mending. You should do well walking. Just no stretching. My guess is you might not have been "warmed up" enough for that. It works well after exercise/walking, etc, but not before the muscles are used to moving. Hope your voice returns soon.

I'm not watching the game but am rooting for Denver. My brother was a big fan and I think of him when I do that. My SIL lived in North Carolina so he is rooting for the Panthers. I bought him some specialty popcorn just for his team. There was a lot of that left and no Denver colored popcorn left in the store.

Gotta run and clean up a bit. It's amazing how much mess a few small children can make. They have never learned to clean up after themselves and the oldest is angry which makes it worse.

Have a great day everyone.

Becky, I love the picture of Charley and the student. It made me smile.

Weezie, we enjoy an unstuffed cabbage rolls recipe - re low carb - and there is a sausage stuffed mushrooms recipe that we liked, too. Of course, the chicken/mushroom/spinach dish was good as well.

I've spent quite a bit of time this weekend getting two exams ready for this week. We have a college holiday this next Monday. Then we have Spring Break before midMarch. Wow! Lots of breaks...

I'm having a hard time "giving a darn" today, so I haven't even walked. Maybe I needed to rest anyway. I did finish a book. Tomorrow will be a new day.

Sharon glad you are on the mend,
Becky Charlie is a good PR person greeting everyone and I know the children love it.

I pretty much took yesterday off from all exercise I just felt like I needed a day off but still got almost 5000 steps.

Sharon I have heard you say you have restless leg syndrome. What do your legs feel like? Mine are cramping worse than normal and I just keep moving my legs in the nighttime. And that makes it hard to sleep. That part has gone on for a long time. But I always thought RLS was like stabbing sharp pains in your legs.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

It's a beautiful day. It should be in the 40's today. I spent some time outside cleaning up after Reggie before Claire got here. I'll have Kami after lunch so both girls can play together.

Disney on Ice was wonderful yesterday. I'm all set to make it a tradition to go. Kami didn't recognize many of the older Princesses but she got up and danced to Tangle (Rapunzel) The only negative was the lady who sat next to me. She probably had 50# on me and had no concept of personal space. I don't mind being close/ or touching family and friends but I draw the line at a complete stranger. I would have liked it if she moved her kid next to me. Okay I'm done ranting.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Good Morning!
My cold is starting to break up, thank goodness. At least now when I cough, it is helpful. I only woke up once last night with a coughing spell so I slept much better. I think (fingers crossed) I am done with the muscle spasm as well. I went all day yesterday without a spasm. My inside area is still sore and tender but I can live with that. I'm hoping to take a stroll around our block today and see how that affects me.

Becky - that is so nice that Charlie welcomes all the students. Love the picture!

SEK - I hope you are feeling better too! I can relate to the voice. Mine is pretty much gone too but Norm's not much of a talker so I get to rest my voice most of the time!

Now that I'm feeling some better, I went back and reread the posts so all your news sinks in. I see Weezie also has been sick with the crud. I hope you're feeling better as well.

PJ - it sounds like you are gearing up to move to your second winter home! The weeks are flying by. Only 54 days and we will be leaving Towerpoint. We won't be going right home unless it's really nice weather! We intend to drag our feet and stay at a couple different places as we trek back to MI.

Good morning.....

I'm trying to get all my laundry and "chores" done before this afternoon. We do want to watch the Super Bowl and I'm hoping Manning wins. If he retires, he deserves to go out a winner.

Sharon, glad that you can stand and move with only small amounts of pain.

Becky, that is a darling picture of that little girl! Also, glad for no screamers. And no, we only bake pies for this festival. Believe me, we don't usually have any left after the weekend is over. People come from all over to buy those pies.

PJ, I did Zumba once.....that was enough for me!!

Hello, to everyone else....got to run.

Oh, wanted to tell you....I decided to put the baby blanket together. I got the fabric at JoAnn's and got it cut and was ironing it when I discovered black marks on the backing!! ARRGG!! I was so pi$$ed that I couldn't see straight. Now I have to make another trip back to take it back and hope that I can get more. Not a happy camper about that.

Good Sunday morning everyone!!! I will vote for the first time today in Costa Rica now that I have citizenship. It will be interesting to compare the experience with voting in the states.

Sharon, I am so sorry that you are not feeling well. It must be the pits with a double whammy of a cold and a spasm. I sure hope both ease up soon.

Weezie, I hope you feel better soon, too.

Good God, WG, your son definitely needs to do the divorce right the first time. Can you imagine the kids going through all this again (or you and your DS either). Better to go through all the horrible drama you have to now....and then never again. Hopefully the end will soon be in sight!!!!!

Pat, I am flabbergasted that you guys make so many pies to sell for the museum. Do you do it all year round? I will continue praying that all goes well for your DB's GF, Stephanie and her niece. emoticon

PJ, zumba is all the rage here right now. And it really is a good workout. On Saturdays they offer aquatic zumba in the sport's complex where I go. I've only been able to make it once since my Saturdays are always so crazy, but it was a lot of fun.

TB, has your DH has his show yet? And what a beautiful quilt!! I wish I could do that.

Tammy, Charlie doesn't live at school, but my little school is behind our house on the same lot. So Charlie "visits" a lot. And he sits right at the fence by the gate where the children come in in the morning so he can greet everyone. Here's a photo of him howling a greeting to one of our new students. The little girl's mother sent me the picture.

Our first week went really well. No screamers...thank God....and so far no completely out-of-control kids (though sometimes you see that behavior after they've settled in). One family who had two kids registered moved to San Jose so I had to find "replacements" for them. Those two will start on Monday with all our returning kids.

WG - I'm pretty much being a couch potato today. Sitting with the heating pad. I did get up and clean the kitchen without any spasms. And just now I made a nice BLT Salad for our dinner without any spasms. And, I think you are right. The cough is much better sitting than laying down. At this point, I think I just need to take it nice and easy until I have my confidence back to try a walk around the block. Perhaps tomorrow!

Finally I have a moment to kind of catch up.

So days off? No, I got called to Casey's yesterday so Dad had to take Joshua to his test. It is done and I'm glad.

We have the Grandkids this week because Mom had to fly to Canada today for work this this week. I ordered a breakfast pizza for them from work and when I went to pick it up, thought I was going to end up working today, because the kitchen help and the cashier neither one had showed up. Thankfully the Asst. Mgr. (a friend) told me she would not get off the phone until she found someone to work and it was not going to be me.

So today I've been doing touch up painting, couldn't finish because hubby took the big ladder, so I'm stopped with that again. Also been putting lacquer on the wainscoting we will be putting up when painting gets finished. We built some shelves for Casey's and I have them painted and ready to deliver. While I'm waiting for things to dry I've been burning wood outside so I smell really wonderful.

Woo hoo for the new car, sorry for the illnesses and pains. That is no fun. I still don't have much of a voice to everyone's happiness, but don't feel bad and the energy is coming back.

I was surprised that I had lost 2 pounds because I stopped the new exercise program for the week and didn't get all my steps in every day. I really didn't care what I ate either so I was pleasantly surprised.

I should get, need to get my shopping list finished and then go to the store.

Take care and y'all have a great evening.

Judy/Seksunshine

Hi Seesters. The grands are here except for Princess Purple. They are having a great time. There is such a relaxed exchange with the kids and their dad and they all talk all the time. They have plans to go outside and take a walk today. I'm sure some will like it and some won't but they all need the sun and fresh air.

Weezie2, glad that you are fixing your car problem It is hard when you start having a lot of repair problems. I'm sure you are looking forward to all the "bells and whistles" that even come standard with newer cars.

Weezie, hope you are feeling better. Hope it was just a bug. Glad you have an idea how to do the quilt. It will be fun. Enjoy the weekend freedom. I'm sure you miss and worry about Ava. I'm sure she misses you as well.

LG, glad you got to sleep in. Those are big eggs.

SS, glad you are doing better. Listen to your body. I'm sure you will be walking at least short walks in the next few days. Hope the cough gets better soon. Perhaps being up more will help. How is sitting?

Becky, hope school is going well for you. Have a fun weekend.

Gotta run. Did rug cleaning from dog problems this morning and have a load in the laundry. Didn't get a lot done but have enjoyed the bright morning light.

Have a fun day.

Weezie2 - I would be so excited to be getting a new Jeep! We have been talking different car when we get back home but not sure yet.

Weezie - I'm glad you are doing better today. This cold is miserable! I will be so glad when the coughing lets up. With me, I haven't been too stuffed up. It's mostly all in my throat. Today I don't have much of a voice! But the muscle spasm seems better. I must admit I'm a little afraid of moving around for fear of it returning so I'm taking it very easy.

WG - as a nurse, I value your advice. I am glad to know the walking probably did not cause my spasm. I am taking a few days off but look forward to walking again. With all the family drame going on with your DS, I am glad he's paying attention to his job. My son totally lost it where work was concerned during their separation. You'd never know it now as he gallivants around the world. He leaves on Sunday to go to India and from their to Germany. While he is gone, my DIL is taking a GF and they are going to Hawaii for two weeks. Lucky!

Good morning.....

Well, I slept in which for me is still early...got up at 5:30! Got my walking in and then cleaned the house and went to the farmer's market. Got pork chops, sausage, & eggs. The eggs are so big that the lid on the carton won't close and they were rubber banded. I'm fixing the pork chops in the crock-pot tomorrow for supper.

About 2 weeks ago, I went to JoAnn's and got fabric for a baby blanket. The baby was born on Thursday so I got the fabric out and was ironing it. The backing has black streaks thru it! UGH!! Now I have to take it back and hope that I can get the same or at least something that is comparable. Hate that!!

Weezie, glad that you are feeling better. Hope that you get to sew today. Ava will be fine this weekend and you need your rest!!

Weezie2, glad that you have decided to get a new car. Rachel had a Jeep for 10 years but traded it for a Ford. It is a smaller version of the Explorer. It is a great car and she got a great deal on it. Now we won't have to worry about you being on the road!!

WG, hope that you get some sewing time. That would be great!!

Becky, hope that the start of school went smoothly.

I agree.... I already have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee waiting with my name on it. I just need the other one back for a trade in. After 10.5 years it's time to move on and with 0% financing there's no point in waiting for the 2016's. I also get an employee discount so that makes the deal even sweeter.

Have a Great Saturday....I'm off to see Disney on Ice....I'm so excited emoticon

Good morning to you all!

Feeling better this morning but still not 100% but glad I let myself rest yesterday. Not sure what was going through but wasn't pleasant and sleep did help. Little to no appetite which isn't all bad but hate when I have to force myself to eat something especially not knowing if it might help the way my gut was feeling. I did lay low, played with laying out the t-shirt quilt I'm making for a friend. My anal DH took photos and made me puzzle pieces of sorts so I could play with the layout to something that was scaled to size. I then was able to take some photos and share with the gal who this is for and I let her choose. Of course she chose what I wouldn't but it will make far easier to throw together. I hope to do that today. No Ava last night or today. Maybe later but not sure if the aunts have her covered this weekend. Sara is terrible about communicating. I have gotten to where I just talk to her sisters.

TB, the quilt photo is lovely. You do seem to get them together in short order. Maybe one day I will be able when I'm retired. I do so look forward to those days.

SS, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Do wish you a quick recovery.

PJ, you're doing well it seems and hope the weather is lovely for you in TX. We've had a quite mild but hear we may get significant snow fall this coming week. We really have had an easy winter thus far.

LG, sorry about the appliance issue at the museum. You'll have to bake MORE pies!!! Glad to see some positives for DB's girlfriend and of course for Rachel.

Weezie, sorry about the car but I agree, it sounds like it is time for a new one. We don't want to have to worry about you when you head to Shipsee this summer.

Tammy, low carbs is something I think would work well for me. Now to get my head wrapped around the notion. DH would likely put up a fuss as well but I may have to try a few things. Did you see the one on FB with the mushrooms? That looked delightful to me. I'd love to hear about some that you've really found good and filling.

SEK, glad you're feeling better and hope your days off allowed you some catch up.

Becky, hope school is going well.

WG, hope your busy day goes well. Sorry about the DS and his family stress. They are always our baby boys and our hearts go out but sadly we are unable to 'fix' things. I miss those days.

I need to get moving so I'll say good bye for now. I'll check back later to see what's new with all. Have a great Saturday!

Hi Seesters. I am home from work. No Grands tonight. Not sure what is going on. DS has some work that is due next week and he has to take care of his job as well. He stayed over at work and slept on a sofa in the break room last night. He was avoiding DIL.

The dog is having a sleepover at DD's. She wants to have the dog. Her DH is working. The grands are supposed to be here. Seemed like a good idea.

Weezie2, a newer car might be just the thing. You've had quite a few problems lately and they tend to keep going. I've replaced things that really stayed fixed, but sometimes they don't. How old is the car?

Have fun at Disney on Ice tomorrow.

Weezie1, feel better.

LG, I' have bought all my appliances at Lowes the past few years. Much better service. They have the major appliance brands which is a plus.

Tammy, so glad you are enjoying the lower carb meals. That is a good thing anyway. Sounds fun as well.

SS, feel better soon. That sort of pain is a big deal. Heal.

I'm off to bed and to run again tomorrow. Maybe some sewing if the kids don't come, but that is going to break DS's heart if it happens. He has used to D word but thought it might be easier to do the separation first. I'm in favor of doing it right the first time. I think doing it twice will be twice the headache with this girl.

Trading my car in only makes sense to me right now. I stopped by the jeep dealer after I picked up my nephew from college this morning. Right now they have 0% interest for 60 months on the 2015 jeeps. I've had them in the past and we had the first one 11 years before we traded it in.

My mechanic said the differential went earlier than he expected and he would expect the rear end to go next. Your right Pat.....I need a dependable vehicle living alone. Getting this problem fixed I can trade it in with a clear conscious that nothing is wrong with it at the moment and I did maintain it the best I could. Who knows the next owner might not have any more problems but I'm at the point I don't want to keep fixing things on it.

It warmed up enough today that the few inches of snow we got overnight melted by the time I got home this afternoon. The only shoveling I had to do was right up near the garage.

Tomorrow I am going to see Disney on Ice with Kami. I have never gone before and am looking forward to an enjoyable program with my son and his family.

Have a Great Weekend!

Spent the day at the museum....more problems. We had a furnace go out last October and had to have it replaced. The guy who did it only charged us 1/2 what another company was going to charge since we are a non-profit. So that cost us $3000. Now we had a refrig die on us. We went looking for one this morning. A store (Sears) here had one we were going to buy but they told us it would cost us $50. to deliver it!! I looked at that gal and said "really?" She said that it had to be over a certain price (I think it was $600) to be free delivery. So we called Lowe's in Columbus and they will deliver for free!! So we are going next week to look there. We did get some pie dough rolled!

Sharon, still praying but sounds like you are a bit better. Glad to hear that.

Weezie, texted me this morning and she was so sick that she didn't go to work. Gut issues.

Weezie2, when the air conditioner on my van burned up, I traded it in just like it was. They didn't blink and I did my homework on that one. I know it doesn't affect the driving like your repair does but get it repaired and then trade it off. You'll be better off. Being alone you need a dependable car.

PJ, glad you got a good work out.

WG, isn't quiet time wonderful??!!

Tammy, Thomas and I both don't eat mushrooms. Of course, I realize that you don't have to put them in.

Heading to the farmer's market tomorrow to get some chicken and pork. They will have some fresh veggies too. Oh, I got all the laundry done and ironing finished!

Sending prayers for a quick recovery. Sharon we love you. Take care

The mangerís wife gave us a Zumba class this morning in the rec hall. It felt so good to sweat up a storm and she will do it again next Friday. That will be the last one I can attend as we will be moving on Feb 14.

TB I am so excited for Mr TB and wish him a terrific show. I love your star quilt. I canít believe how much you are getting accomplished with your quilting. Do you have more than 24 hours a day.

WG glad you found some time for yourself to work on that UFO That had to feel good and a time to relax I do hope DS will just realize that divorce is inevitable and go ahead and get it started. She is just being so cruel to those children using them against him.

Weez2 hate to hear about more car problems. Do hope you can trade for something that you will be happy with not have any other issues with this one

LG so sorry to hear about all your bad news. They will be in my prayers.

Tammy I saw that recipe but donít have the ingredients to do it right not. Instead I have 3 huge chicken breasts in the crockpot with some carrots and cream of chicken soup. There will be plenty of leftovers that I thought I could do a casserole of some kind.

Time to get out for a walk as I didnít go this morning.

I woke up to snow on the ground. I'm not sure how the roads are going to be to pick up my nephew from college 45 minutes away. Hopefully the loaner has some good traction. I'm so use to a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I better research what this car a little.

My mechanic called last night. It is not going to be a cheap fix. He can't buy the bearings he need to fix the differential. The dealer wants to sell him the whole unit with a more than double the price tag just starting out what he thought it was going to cost to fix the problem. Grrr...I hate car problems too. It's a shame even a used differential is going to be half the price of a new one. Just a frustrating situation all around. I can't trade it in the way it is and really don't want to break even doing that either. I didn't eat too badly yesterday considering. I probably ate 200 calories more than I intended. I would have had a major binge before.

I need to get a move on to my day.

Have a Great Friday!

Hi, Seesters!

One of our RV Enthusiasts friends shared that Sharon isn't well - she is having a hard time moving, perhaps a sprain? - and asked for prayers for her...just sharing here.

LG, there was a chicken/mushroom/spinach low carb recipe that went around Facebook, and I tried it last night; Joe really like it. I've been using some low carb recipes in the evening just to try to lower carbs somewhat plus try new recipes. Most of them I have seen on Facebook. I think your pork chops sound good, low carb or not.

I am in the midst of writing exams to give this next week, which means I will be grading this next week. LOL

Have a good day - hello to all my Seesters.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Hi my Seesters. Hope your day was a good one. I was at work so any drama that may be occurring is not on my radar. I'd hope you had a nice day as well.

LG, hope the laundry works well. I hope you also have good pork chops.

SEK, enjoy the days off. Hope that testing goes well. Graduation is so much fun. It is a rite of passage. I'm glad you are doing it right.

I've finished my meal. Had "lunch" at 3:30. Busy day. I'm off to bed. Back tomorrow.

Can't believe that I haven't gotten here until now. Still don't have all the ironing done. But I will before I go to bed or else!! I'm over it.

Weezie2, I absolutely HATE car problems. So glad that you shopped instead of eating. emoticon

SEK, hope all went well for Joshua and the test. Our weather has been just as crazy! We had snow this morning. Didn't stick to the ground but it snowed!

WG, it is sad when the kids are stuck in the middle. Hope that it can get resolved quickly. I have a friend who "paid off" her ex-DIL just to get rid of her. She was pulling some of the same things but she had another man. So to get it over with quickly, my friend gave her money. She left and hasn't been heard from since. Sad as the kids of this marriage don't see their mom.

TB, love the quilt. Bob is a very talented artist!

Sharon, how is your back???

Tammy, what kind of low carb meals are you making? I found a recipe for pork chops in the crock-pot and I'm thinking of trying them over the weekend. Not sure it is low carb but I'll check.

Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts for DB's GF and for Rachel. Found out today that Stephanie's sister (who was in ER over the weekend) is on meds and has to have another EKG done next week. She will see a cardiologist in 2 weeks. Then yesterday Stephanie's other sister's daughter (about 15 yo) came home from school and complained of chest pains. Went to Urgent Care. Did a chest x-ray and found a nodule on her lung. Very small and have a CT scan done first of next week. Prayers please!

PJ, will you be moving to another park later on in the month? I know last year you didn't stay in one place.

emoticon to anyone I missed.

It's a frustrating day for me. I have my car in for more work. Something is going on with the differential. I have a loaner for the next couple of days while this gets fixed. Looks like I'll be trading in my car for a new one this spring. This past year has really cost me more to maintain it than I would have liked. Oh well such is life.

I stopped at Hobby Lobby on the way home. I tend to shop or eat when I'm frustrated so this is definitely the lesser of 2 evils. I picked up some silk flowers to brighten up the house and some fabric to make a table runner for Valentines Day. It's fun to decorate again with the grands.

Have a Great Thursday!

WG - Family drama is the worst. I feel for you, hope it gets better.

I'm still not 100% so that is why I've been MIA, I just backed off from a lot of things, unfortunately can't back off from everything. I don't feel so bad, just not much energy. I'm sure my weigh in this week will reflect that.

Our weather is crazy, warm and spring like, then 4 hours later full blown winter temps. I think this is one reason the kids around here are sick, that and they don't have parents that take care of them properly.

The school looks amazing. See I do scroll and look at posts, just don't always say anything.

In the morning I'm taking Joshua over to take his last test, then it's just waiting till May for "real" graduation. Hard to believe he is so grown up. I need to get the announcements and all done, I keep getting emails about it so I should just do it.

I have 4 days off from Casey's and hopefully I can get things caught up. We will see how the energy holds out.

TB lovely quilt as always.

I better go, have more to catch up with before I head out for work.

Y'all have a tremendous Thursday!

Hi Seesters. The grands are all gone finally. Had Fabio all day and DS got his kids this afternoon for a while. Not long enough, but there hasn't been a judgement to make DIL give him the kids for any length of time at all.

She doesn't do "out of control" so she is doing more and more dumb things. What she really would like is for him to work two jobs (he can't legally) and give her all the money and never bother her again.

I tell you, being widowed is a lot easier.

He is angry enough with her shenanigans with the kids he is going for a ruling this week. Otherwise, it will be a month or longer for any ruling to be made. It's going to be ugly and bloody. The ten year old was sobbing when he left tonight because his mother insisted on a "special night" for them together that meant he didn't get to be with his father, then she said as she dropped him off that and said he could stay later than the others for some "one on one" time. Unfortunately it is a school night and to stay up until late isn't going to work. So a sobbing child was sent back to his mother.

Dividing property, child custody arrangements, money (the biggest thing she complains about) are all still up in the air. It will be a long year for sure.

I do think he will give up and file for divorce instead of trying to work it out before doing that.

TB, the quilt is gorgeous. I'm waiting with baited breath to see what happens next. I'm so excited about Mr TB's show. He will so enjoy it and needs to share his talent and ideas with others.

LG, so glad the girls are physically active and interested in sports. To play all sorts is a great thing and they will do well Your days are so busy with all the work you do both for yourself and for others.

PJ, hope you are having warm weather now. It has been cold here, so I think of others and think you all should have the same. I know it isn't so as I've lived elsewhere, but it still sticks in my mind. How is the knitting going?

SS, I loved the pictures. What a wonderful surprise!! I love the pictures. That guy did it well and it was a wonderful surprise. Hope the hip feels better soon.

Weezie2, I'm glad you had time to do things around the house, but I do hate being "stuck" at home. Hope the car is warmer now.

Tammy, glad you are getting books read and cooking lower carb. It works for me although there are weeks that I just need to carb up. This is one of them. I am going to be very good tomorrow and see what happens on Saturday.

I had a good day at home on Monday and did put the binding on a quilt that I'd had in the UFO pile for a long time. Now to find time to finish the binding and get on to the next project. I did cut out fabric for a top but didn't get time today to work on it. Too much drama. hopefully this weekend.

Have a great night everyone.

Sharon: What a wonderful thing for Norm to do!!! emoticon I saw the picture, just now.

WG: What a good memory you have! Mr. TB did participate in a show a couple years ago. It was a juried exhibition (like a quilt show with judges etc. - for the record, he won best in show for the pic of me and Li'l G) but this is one to showcase his work, alone. He has done one-man shows before but not for a long time. His teaching career and - well, life - got in the way. So he's very excited about this one.

Break-ups are so hard at the best of time but when you throw bipolar issues into the mix ... emoticon my heart goes out to all of you.

SEK: I hope you're feeling better by now.

Becky: I love the open look of the addition to the school. Lots and lots of light!

No, I'm not in very many of Mr. TB's paintings. He doesn't usually put identifiable people in his pictures - that way anybody looking at them can identify with the subject, not look at it and think "I don't know that person"; so when he does, it means a lot. He has already made it clear (to everybody) that this particular painting is NOT for sale and that it is to go to Li'l G eventually.

Lily: Great news for your brother's girlfriend ... and WTG Rachel!

Weezie2: When you live in a rural setting, being without transportation is like being without a limb! A few months ago we had to use only one vehicle for a couple days ... it was hard!

PJ: I'm glad you like Mr. TB's work. I'm very proud of him, obviously. He has been having a lot of fun with the ceramic fantasy sculptures - completely different from his painting and drawing - just fun! They will also be part of his upcoming show.

Tammy: My steps have been pretty much non-existent recently. I'm still annoyed by the rash that I get from wearing my Fitbit for any length of time, but I've also been rushing to finish the top of my quilt - and then to sandwich, baste, and get it in the frame before February 9th. Timing will be very, very tight.

I'm attaching a picture of the partially finished quilt top. I usually don't show work-in-progress pics because they don't do justice to what the end product will look like after quilting and binding - but I figure there are enough quilters in the group who will recognize the stage I'm at. I still have to attach borders, make the backing, sandwich, quilt, and bind ... emoticon

Oh, and yes ... that's Celtic Sky peeking out from under it.

Good Evening!

Last night I pulled my right leg up to my knee to put some lotion on my feet. I got a terrible pain inside and spent a miserable night last night. I couldn't sit or lay down without lots of pain. My two nurse friends say it sounds like the piriformis muscle is in spasm and pushing on the sciatic nerve. All I know is it's very painful. They said if it's not doing better by tomorrow to go to ER so my insurance will cover it.

This afternoon we were supposed to go to one of our friends "surprise" birthday party. I told Norm I didn't think I could. He was adamant that I go. Well, come to find out the "surprise" was on me! Norm had a big Surprise Party for us honoring our 50th Wedding Anniversary, which is tomorrow. I blubbered like a baby. Those on FB may see a picture.

So, now that the excitement is all over and we're home from our party, I am going to go lay down with the heating pad and hope I feel better by morning!

Hi, Seesters!

We are back to cold weather here, but we had a very mild weekend, so I guess I'll deal with it.

Becky, the author's name is Phillip Gulley. Does Charley live at school?

I've been way under on steps lately - have to turn that around.

I've been preparing some low carb meals in the evening. We've found some we like.

LG that is great news about brothers GF. Will keep her in my prayers. Iím proud of Rachel and am rooting her on.

Sharon the other park we go to has about 3 people with permanent trailers that we expect any year for them not to come back. It is so sad and you never know what the new neighbors will be like or if there will even be any to replace them. Especially in that park we go to

Carol I love that addition it is so bright and cheerful.

SEK hope you are feeling better. I can just see Mike smiling when you canít talk and I imagine Joshua give you a hard time also.

WG I certainly hope DS wontí let her be miserable for years months is tolerable but not for years.

TB I love Mr TBís work you are both so talented. Now I will go poke around on your FB site and look at photos

Weez2 I hate to be without a car but it does make us get other things done. Hope you get it back quickly.

I know I havenít responded to everyone but want you to know Iím thinking of all of you and saying HI.

It's going to be a fun but busy day. I have Claire emoticon

I finally got my car back yesterday. The heat wasn't blowing and I'm not going though winter without heat in my car. They had to order the part. It's not fun being without a car. Of course that way I stayed out of trouble and got some cleaning done. I even got out the few things I have to decorate for Valentine's day. The house looks festive again.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Good Morning.....

Just realized that I didn't stop by here yesterday. Just busy. Carmen had her last game as a 6th grader last night but she will be playing on the 7th grade team for a couple more games. Brooke will begin (if she makes the team) playing softball in April. If she plays and we go, I'm getting out the blankets that we use for soccer. I refuse to freeze out there!!

I have church laundry to iron today and need to get some letters out also. Want to finish a book I started last week.

Sharon, at least your resort isn't leaving those older models there and letting them look awful. Glad that you are getting to spend time with your friends from MI.

Becky, your school is very forward thinking in letting the kids come early and get acquainted with everything. Is the dog yours?

Judy, hope you are feeling better.

WG, you deserve a quiet day and I hope that you got a lot done for yourself.

Weezie2, keep up the good work. You have inspired me!!

Weezie, hope that you aren't suffering with the headache any more. Also, glad that you got a 2 hr. delay this morning so that you could rest up a bit.

My steps have been very good....I've had 18K every day since Sunday. I took a peek at the scales this morning and I'm down another pound. So I'm hoping for another 1/2 by Saturday.

And I want to tell you all the news that I got from my brother yesterday. The biopsy on his GF's gland is cancer free. But after reviewing the PET scan they've decided they should remove it just "because". So keep those prayers coming.

Also, that Rachel is down almost 20 lbs since going on WW. She is doing so well and I'm so proud of her. Keep those prayers going too!! Thanks!!
