Hi everyone. I've been out in the heat running my errands. Now the dog is able to eat and wander with a legal license. It is nice to have that done.

The pictures are great and it looks like you all had a great time. It is so nice to see everyone and how nice you all look. I agree, Weezie1 your hair is great. It looks wonderful on you and I'm sure you enjoy it. LG, SS, Weezie2, Janet and hubbies all look great.

I'm sure I would have been AWFUL there. I can't resist fabric even if I don't have an idea what to do with it. So it is best I didn't go. I did get my 25% off shipment so it is satisfying. And I do have things to do with that project.

PJ, I'm glad you will be getting the FItbit. I'm still not sold as I had one (actually 2) but their customer service is great and they are pretty nice.

Gotta go and see if I can get something done so I'll have things to work on next week. Have a great day all.

Hooray I finally decided and ordered a fitbit HR charge. Should get it sometime next week. I am using my purse profit to make the purchase. Of course if I need help with it Im sure I can count on my seesters to help me out.

We have a quiet day planned as there was more rain again last night and this morning. Went to a fitness class this morning now doing some laundry and started reading an ebook this morning. Shredded BBQ pork roast leftovers are planned for dinner tonight.

Looks like the Shipshe seesters had a great time. Sorry we couldnít be there this year. Sounds like Lollyís was a favorite spot again and lots of $$$$ spent. Iím sure they didnít mind taking your money or your pictures. Or hearing you say you would be back again next year.

Weez I like your long hair. I have had the habit in the past of letting mine grow and then when it gets long Iím ready for a change again and get it cut short. Has been a vicious circle with me.

Tammy sounds like you had fun internet shopping. We must get our fabric fix any way we can. I have never ordered fabric on the internet only looked.

SS thanks for posting the pics so we could all enjoy your outing.

The Shipshe pics are wonderful. Thank you all for sharing ... I wish I could have been there.

Weezie: I love the long hair. I think it's very flattering.

Good morning, Seesters!

I am so thankful of the "Add an Image" option on Sparkpeople now - so nice to see my Sparkfriends within the thread. Thank you so much, SS, for making sure there were pictures. I almost feel as if I was there. I can "feel" being in the fabric store and in the campground and visiting with my Sparkfriends. I also bought something from MSQC with the last of the three gift certificates that I got a bargain on back in May, and yesterday was free shipping, so I got my fabric fix even if I wasn't in Shipsee!

Our tub/shower remodel begins this morning emoticon If I couldn't go to Shipsee, at least I can have this done! LOL

Have a good day, Seesters!

We lucked out with the weather and it was fine for our dinner. The pies were delicious, as always. I snapped a couple more pictures this evening.
The first is Pat and her husband, Thomas Jay with Little Janet and her husband, Thomas

One last picture of the whole group, minus me - the photographer!

It did cool down outside rather quickly so we broke up around 8:30. I must admit we were all pretty tired from all the shopping we did today. I know I didn't buy the most fabric but I found some other treasures so I was a happy shopper as well.

Once again, we had a couple of fun filled days. I believe we will all go to the flea market tomorrow and the rest will head home. Norm and I may stay another day or two.

We have had a ball!! But I must admit that Weezie2 has won the award for buying the most fabric!! I think I might be 2nd but it probably a close tie with Weezie1!! We enjoyed the potluck tonight. And the pies were a hit!

Tomorrow we are going to the flea market and then head home. emoticon We've not eaten very good but oh, well, tomorrow is another day!!

Now I'm headed to bed..... emoticon

Good Afternoon Seesters!
Norm dropped me off at Lolly's at 9AM this morning and the other ladies were waiting. We were there first customers but the girls had a lot of fun buying. I snapped a couple pictures just so I had proof we were all together.

First we have Weezie and Weezie 2:

Then I caught one of Pat (LilyGal)

I got another shopper to take a picture of the four of us.
Weezie, LG, Sharonsparkle, and Weezie2:

After we ate lunch Little Janet arrived. She had to work unexpectedly in the morning but came to join us for afternoon fun. We asked the clerk at Lolly's to come take our picture. He was willing and we said as a thank you we'll be back to buy more next year!

After shopping all day we found some nice Amish rocking chairs to rest our weary feet

I had them drop me off at the MH to start getting ready for our pot luck this evening. I will try to get more pictures then. It rained off and on today and we've also had some sun. At this point, nothing has been ruined by the rain so we hope it doesn't interfere with our picnic dinner.

Good morning Seesters. It sounds like the Shipse sisters are having a good time. It is fun to get together and you always have a great time. I'm looking forward to pictures. I know you talk and laugh non stop so it has to be interesting to be another shopper at Lolly's.

Power went out for about 5 hours yesterday just as I was sitting down to the machine. I had to read a book which wasn't all that bad. I've got another one loaded on my phone so I'm ready for the next adventure. I'm not reading nearly as much as I used to but I have forgotten how much I enjoy it.

Today is DBs birthday. His wife is having a party this evening. I'll go and enjoy. He is having another round of chemo and after his surgery last fall, I'm not encouraged with the prognosis. I see he is living and enjoying life, so it is time he has to live.

Tammy, the new tub and shower sounds fun. I know you will enjoy it. I love fixing up the house.

Seesters, enjoy the day even if it rains cats and dogs.

Gotta run and get gas.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning!

We are having crappy weather but so far it hasn't dampened our fun. The other three ladies drove up to Battle Creek, MI yesterday afternoon after they arrived. To go visit another fabric store, if you can believe! So we met at the Blue Gate Restaurant for dinner last night. You can't spend time in Shipshewana without going to the famous Amish restaurant. I actually waited in the lobby while Norm sat at the table. It went through my mind whether I would even recognize them as it's been two years since I've seen them. However, Weezie had her trademark orange on and I noticed her right away! It's a good thing though as she really is almost unrecognizable with long hair. We may look different but the chatter was immediate and we did not lack for things to talk about. We made sure Norm and Thomas Jay sat across from each other and they managed to find lots to discuss as well.

This morning I will be meeting the ladies at Lolly's at 9am. Little Janet is also supposed to be joining us this morning. It is very gray and overcast with chance of rain but we'll muddle through. If necessary they is a covered pavilion for this evening's get together.

Tammy - I sure wish you were here in the campground. The campground is almost empty so there would have been plenty of room for you.

I apologize that we haven't taken any pictures so far. We were so busy talking and catching up that we never took a picture!

Good morning, Seesters!

Weezie, thanks for the pictures - loved them!

To my seesters in Shipsee - enjoy for me as well....I do wish I was there!

DB's appointment went well, and he goes back in three months. He confessed to having been away from home unexpectedly for three days, so without his meds, so I got to "kick his hind end" about that. I guess he knew he needed the kick, or he wouldn't have told me. [Yes, I do know how dangerous that was for him with him being a serious heart patient.] We had a van pull into our lane right in front of us on the way home - good thing WE were watching. I don't know if we were in their blind spot or what...

I am quite excited about getting a new tub/shower unit in the next few days - our former neighbor is a plumber and could work us in. We have needed it done for quite some time, and so I am very glad to be getting it done at long last.

Today is going to be Help Joe with the Lawn Day - functional fitness minutes for me! I also need to look up my recipe for green tomato relish - Joe loves it and it will be a nice surprise for him.

Have a good day, Seesters!

Just got back from taking the grands and DS and fiancť to the Digeridoo Down Under show at the library and pizza which we ate at their home. The show was fantastic. Lots of music on the long pipe type instrument called a digeridoo, educational and he even had a foot long lizard type reptile there too. It was so much fun doing it together as a family.

DH is up on the house starting the cleaning process before he paints. Yes Sharon he will be doing it all himself. I doubt that he will even allow me to help paint.

WG that is a scary thought of DIL with a gun. I hope DS will be VERY careful as crazy as she sounds That sounds like a lot of work to spin dog hair into yarn.

You Shipshe gals have a great time wish we could be there with you but we are in spirit. Take pictures. Sorry that the weather isnít cooperating for you but I know you will have fun anyway.

Weez I LOVE the sister camp projects thanks for posting the picture you are giving me more ideas of things to make with my leftover purse materials. Especially the bags you had so much trouble with the top picture. We the little things with the zipper something to strap on for maybe ID or a watch etc when walking? The bowls look interesting too. Fabric around cotton cording?
And now you turn around and go to Shipshe arenít you just the lucky lady all this fun stuff.

Tammy glad you are able to go to DBs appointment that way you can keep in the loop of what is going on with him at least somewhat. I like the wedding colors with Peach very pretty sounding. It sounds like your garden is producing very well.

Have fun you girls.

We have arrived! It is gray and overcast but it isn't raining at the minute. They have changed the forecast for tomorrow and it's 80% rain -dang! As if we haven't had enough rain. It sounds like it's going to rain on our group but they is a covered pavilion so if it isn't too windy we shall be OK. It's just not as much fun running all around town in the rain. Oh well, this too could change by tomorrow!

Good morning. It is another HOT day. The kids came over yesterday and we were missing DD and her family (they only come once a month) and DS's kids. DIL took them on a ride and was determined to keep them away from him all day. It is what it is.

The kids had fun and I'm glad they didn't die in the heat. Some rode their bikes to my house. They live a mile away so it isn't that far, but it is hot and they were very warm when they arrived.

Tammy, hope you have a good drive and visit with DB. It will be nice to help follow up on his care. How can there be a wedding without family drama? I hope it wasn't enough to ruin the memories for the family.

Ladies, have a wonderful trip and enjoy your visit. I agree with TB. lots and lots of pictures.

Off to have fun.

It looks like it will be raining in the morning so I loaded most of my stuff tonight while it's dry. The good news is the weather should improve throughout our stay

Also, if anyone wants to put something in my frig, I have plenty of room.

Here it is Sunday evening and I've just finished up most of the "stuff" I need to get done before we leave for Shipshe tomorrow morning. Went early and got the church laundry and got it washed and ironed. Will take it back tomorrow morning when we go to chapel. Got all my laundry done so I don't have to come home and face that mess!

Home and Garden tour is history and it went well. We had a beautiful day today but yesterday wasn't nice.

WG, glad you got to see your new nephew. I'm like you about the dog hair booties!

Weezie, I'm so anxious to see all that you got done at Sister Camp. I'm bringing the embroidered baby blocks. Wish I had more done but just didn't have time.

Got to get a few more things done and then hit the bed. See y'all tomorrow in Shipshe. Not sure that I'll get to this thread but will try.

Good evening seesters. It is Sunday and the kids are coming over in a minute. I've got burgers again as it is over 100 outside and we are eating out there. Not a long day today for sure.

I just got back from my Brother's house and a visit to his new son. He is an adorable baby. PJ, I thought of you when SIL showed me one of the baby gifts from Russia. A friend of her mother's collects hair from the dogs she owns and carded the hair and spun it and made booties for the baby. They are adorable. not sure how I feel about dog hair slippers, but they are cute.

Have safe travels tomorrow all those who are out and about. Have a wonderful day all.

Good morning ladies!!!

Well sister camp is history for another year. We've booked again for next year but will move up to May. The emails I chose to look at for work make it clear the end of June doesn't work but I'm not stressing and I'm not going to worry about it. Others can figure it out and move on. We have the last EOY upload to the State necessary and it seems, yet again, the programs didn't speak to one another so things are missing. I'd be loading manually if there. Instead, our IT guy will have to once he gets the info from the SpEd folks. I wish they'd figure this piece out.

So we had a lot of fun together and laughed so hard we had the Mr. of the house wondering what we were talking about. In fact it was a project 2 of us were working on late one evening and we were so tired it was something we should of put away for the next day. By Thursday we had to stop for naps as we were burning the candle on both ends and we're all too old for that. Anyway, I'm going to attempt to upload some of the things we worked on or tried or had demos on. We were fed like queens as well like always so a good time for sure.

This bag was the one we laughed over. Instructions ridiculously difficult and so many pieces for this little thing.

So we did rope bowls, we did hexies, we did mug rugs, we chose different bags to make, we tried in the hoop bags on the embroidery machines and on regular machines. I don't think I have a photo of the fat quarter little bag we made. Ava wanted it but told her I had to share with some people first and she did buy fabric with me yesterday so we can make another in her pinks. I will bring some of this stuff to Shipsee to share.

Sounds like the plans are set for eating Monday and cook out at the MH park. I can stop and get something as well. I will think of something!!! I'm looking forward to it but today I need to regroup, get some laundry done and re-pack. I'll be down by 3 as well.

Everyone appears to be busy but doing okay from what I've read. I hope to get back into my groove now that the vacation thing is winding down. Return to work next week and a new school year for us to gear up for.

Okay, I'm off. Enjoy your day ladies!!!

I'll have Claire Monday morning. As long as I leave Kelly's by 10 I should make it to Shipsee between 2 and 3. Most of that depends on the traffic through Chicago. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again....it won't be long now emoticon

Good afternoon. The grands are here with their dad while mom goes to visit my brother, SIL, and new nephew. I'm not going up until tomorrow. I had planned to go today but want to keep things cool so it is bet not to go yet.

Sounds like things are underway and going strong. I can imagine all the chatting and fun when you are together and on your walks. It will be great fun for all of you to go.

Tammy, I'm also sad that you aren't going. It would have been so much fun for you. I know you will enjoy the trip to the doctor with DB as you like to keep abreast of his care plan.

Is your mother investigating non surgical solutions? If she has indeed prolapsed and is "fallen" there are fixes but none of them are comfortable and most are not really effective. She may decide in a few weeks or months to do the surgery anyway. I'm glad you have the coloring pages to work with. I hope you enjoy them.

LG, I can almost taste the pies. It will be fun to share them as you visit.

I'll be thinking of your tomorrow as you travel. I hope you all have safe and enjoyable trips. Can't wait to hear the tales you all tell and the pictures.

LG - I have everything we need (I think!) Plates, napkins, silverware and cups. Along with your stuff, we'll have plenty! You can't go to Shipshe without visiting the Blue Gate Restaurant so Monday night works for us!

I'm pretty sure you have my phone # but if you don't just let me know and I'll private message you. Tomorrow I am going to clean my veggies for my salad and cook up my BBQ meat so I don't have to do that after we get there. I will put it in the freezer overnight and then let it thaw in the frig when we leave. I have buns too.

Plus, I want to replenish stuff in the MH that I took out when we arrived home so it will be a fun busy day tomorrow.

This afternoon we did go see the movie, Max. Norm and I really enjoyed it. I knew it looked like a tear jerker and it was, but it was the best family movie I've seen in a long time. They really hit on a lot of relevant social issues weaved into the story line. Go see it if you enjoy going to movies!

Hello! Spent most of the day at the museum with an old friend and we sold tickets to the Home and Garden Tour and caught up on old times. It was fun.

WG, I'm so sorry for your son...I'd be scared to death of that woman and even more so if she is packin' heat!!

Tammy, so sorry that your mom's surgery was canceled and that you won't be able to get to Shipshe. I was really looking forward to getting to know you in person.

Sharon, I'll have the pies, forks and small plates for the pie. Do I need to bring anything else?
We plan to leave here about 9 a.m. and will probably be there about 2 p.m. We will probably stop at that bulk foods store on the way into Shipshe. They have the flour that I like in bulk.

Weezie2, when do you plan to be there? I know that Weezie will also be there by 3 p.m.

What do you all think of eating at the Blue Gate on Monday night? Let us know.

Morning!

Tammy - I am so sorry your mom's surgery was canceled at the last minute. I hope it was the correct decision for her. I'm sure you could still get in at the campground. I know our friends just called this week and got a site. BUT, I understand staying and going to the dr with your DB. As we have said many time, you have to put family first. We salute you as a group when we are all together.

Lil Janet is definitely coming for Tuesday. On a whim, I emailed her and told her I was making the Amish Broccoli Salad as she said she would be bringing a salad. She emailed back and said, too funny as she was bringing the broccoli salad as well. What are the odds? So she will bring something else which I'm sure will be just as good.

I'm looking forward to using our MH again. We haven't been out in it since returning home. I hate to see it sit all summer. We do have Shipshe and another weekend in July planned. I am hoping for a couple more outings as well.

It's another gray overcast day today. I am so tired of rain that I haven't even looked at the weather so don't know if it's going to rain more or not. I do know I miss the AZ sun!

Hi, Seesters!

The surgery is now off for the immediate future - mom didn't "hear" another option last time she was there and is going to try that first - there are some other issues as well, emoticon but DH and I won't try to make it to Shipshe anyway now. We are taking DB for his doctor's appointment on Monday now anyway - I like to make an appearance at some of his medical stuff once in a while so Monday is the day for that since we were originally going to be around anyway. DS in Pensacola is not particularly happy with the change of plans, and I have asked if she has any suggestions. I think if she couldn't even bother to call my mom prior that perhaps she shouldn't be too critical. emoticon

I picked six yellow cherry tomatoes this morning and also planted a couple of short rows of lettuce and a couple of hills of zucchini plants for fall eating. I enjoy doing the garden work.

We have my niece's wedding this afternoon at 1. We don't have to drive far - less than an hour.

Have a good day, and safe travels to all!

Hi Seesters. I'm heading off to bed but thought I'd check in since I didn't get a chance to yesterday. I'm truly bushed so I'll be short.

Plans to go to Shipse sound so fun. I'm excited for you all to go and I wish plans had worked out for others. I know you have such fun. I love your pictures of Lolly's, Tammy.

Looking forward to hearing of all your plans.

Weezie2, I'd love some bulbs, but am not coming, so it is fine. It is such fun to have you all going.

Didn't you go in your convertible one year, Sharon?

DIL told DS yesterday via text that she wanted to buy a gun for protection and a freezer for meat (the texts were very close together. It was a little unnerving. He needs to never to to the house alone for sure.

Work was busy but I'm sure it is the thing I need to do. I need to be done. Still trying to figure out the details.

DS#2's house is without AC so they spent the evening here with me. The kids were roasting. It is hard for them but the serviceman will be there tomorrow. Hopefully they will get it fixed until they can replace it.

DB is in town with his young family. My oldest son is his "other son" and spent time with them tonight. He says DB doesn't look well at all. It is sad that he may be dying soon.

PJ, glad you got your errands with your dad done. Lunch with that group sounds fun. Dying and spinning wool sounds fun. I think I would have liked that in another life.

LG, glad you could help out with the shop this week. I'm sure it was a great help for your friend. Sounds like a profitable week for her.

I'm off to bed. Will check in tomorrow. Is supposed to be over 100 for the next several days. I don't live in AZ. I want it at least 10 degrees cooler.

Good evening,

I'm just bushed. Had not planned to work all day today but Sharynn was so busy that I was there until 5p.m. We sold so much fabric and 2 sewing machines and one long arm quilting machine. I do most all of the cutting of fabric.

As for Shipshe, Weezie and I both plan to get there about 3-4. It is a 4.5 hour drive for us. We are going to leave here around 9a.m. but we will need to stop several times. I have phone #s so I can call when we all get to the hotel. I confirmed our reservations the other night.

Good to read all your posts. Things will get back to normal here after next week!!

Had a good time at the library program yesterday the whole family and I plan to go to another one on Monday and maybe out for lunch.

Today I did dads meds, stopped at Staples for printer ink, bought groceries and have a fun meeting at noon with some of my knitting friends combined with another group some of they belong to that spin and dye their own yarn. Should be fun.

Sharon I found Jif powdered peanut butter at the store this morning. Iíll let you know what I think after I try it. I certainly hope Shipshewana has good weather.

Tammy we had storms again last night. Iím ready to turn this rain off for a while but no that just around the corner it will be dry and we will be begging for rain.

Just a few Questions regarding Shipsee. How many columbine plants would Norm like? Anyone want some daffodil bulbs? What time is everyone arriving? I have Claire first thing in the morning but I'd like to plan my arrival about the same time as Pat or Weezie. I have about a 4 hour drive from Kelly's and a time zone change to factor in. emoticon

It's going to be a busy day getting thing done so I don't feel guilty leaving. We also have a craft fair tomorrow. Hopefully I just need to help set up and tear down.

Have a Great Friday!

Morning Seesters!

It's early so I can only assume your day is going well so far. Norm is off working but I'm not getting much done. Nala seems to think all we should do is play and have fun! She won't leave me alone. And she loves to bite my toes. Her little teeth are so sharp I have to break that habit fast! It started when I do any of my exercise dvd's. She thinks I'm playing with her!

I'm excited about next week in Shipshe! We can check in at 1 pm. So we will be there early afternoon. It would probably be best if you ladies come down to our site after you arrive. They don't assign site numbers until we check in but we were told it would be in the middle with a pull thru site. Be sure and come get us before you eat dinner so we can go with you.

Chance of rain today and I looked at my Weatherbug for Shipshewana next week. In the 10 day forecast, it looks like 30-40% chance of rain the whole time we're there. Not too bad of odds being as there is a chance of rain most every day! After awhile you just learn to deal with it!

Good morning, Seesters!

We are watching rain move into the area via the radar - it will be nice to get some again and definitely the cooler temps over the next few days. It is moving slowly - so I might get walking in prior to it beginning.

Today begins the first of the next few days involving my family - preop visits with my mom and then returning her to her home this evening, niece's wedding on Saturday, take DB to a doctor's appointment on Monday, and then mom's surgery on Tuesday. We shall see what needs to be done after mom's surgery. Such happens to all of us, doesn't it?

Have a good day, Seesters!

Good evening all:

I'm flying by to say hi.

Thanks all, for the comments on my pic of Red and me riding bareback. I agree, it's probably not as safe as riding in a saddle, but it's sure a lot more fun! Well, it's perfectly safe as long as you don't fall off. emoticon You will notice, in my picture, that I'm wearing my helmet AND my crash vest. Those vests are specially designed to protect the spine and ribs. Mr. TB refers to it as my 'flack vest' and it kind of looks like one. I'll have to google them to find out what they're made of. They're hot, and a lot of people don't want to wear them because of that (helmets too) but if keeping my brain and limbs functioning causes a little discomfort, I can handle that. I'm a reasonably competent rider, but accidents happen, so I'll use all the protection I can get.

SEK: It sounds like your bb horse worked off weight cues. Those horses are worth their weight in gold. It's like they are telepathic ... you think it, and before you get a chance to ask for it, they're doing it. Of course, they are reading the subtle pre-cues but darn - it's amazing when a horse does that ... and it only happens (to that degree) when riding bb.

Our first summer guests arrived yesterday, but these ones are easy, from my perspective anyway. They are: one of Mr. TB's oldest friends and his son. They will stay for a week or so, but as long as they have food to eat and a place to sleep it's all good - the rest of the time is happily taken up with reminiscing.

They did come by the stable to admire my pony, today. That's worth tons of bonus points, in my book.

To everyone meeting in Shishe ... I'm

Hi, Seesters!

More fun for Shipshe! I am so looking forward to reading about it and seeing pictures of you all.

SS, I enjoyed the new pics on FB.

WG, thanks for the kind words, but I have been learning from my Seesters here for almost five years now.... emoticon

LG, did you get some rest today?

I went back for my followup visit and I can indeed start the steroid cream to help clear up my "still pretty angry" as opposed to the "VERY angry" skin situation now that the doctor checked the biopsy site. I still have to go back in a month for another check. I apparently have developed an allergy to something, and once irritated, the whole ugly thing just kept going down hill. Perhaps now it will go back up the hill. emoticon

Good Afternoon!

Community coffee this morning. We just finished dinner and I am now free to get some exercise in. We have storms moving in so I guess it will be indoors once again today!

Next week is coming up quick! Looking forward to spending time with some of you ladies. I found out at coffee this morning another couple in our group of friends here at the park are also going to be camped in the South campground as well. Unbeknownst to either of us! We are staying until Thursday and so are they so we will have some time with them as well.

I am so happy it rained last night. My back needs a break from all the gardening and the bonus is I don't need to water my tomatoes and peppers.

I want to get a few things finished for the craft fair this weekend before I watch Claire this afternoon. The other G'ma has an appointment with her eye Dr.

Hello and sorry I was gone yesterday. It has been so busy here. I worked all day today but yesterday we left here before 8 a.m. to take Thomas' truck to be worked on and then left for Indianapolis. Had a few things to get. Then we stayed up there and went to Brooke's games. THey lost the first but won the second. It was very late when we got home and I woke up after 5 hrs. sleep. UGH! Had to be at work at 8:30 this morning and worked until 5 p.m. I've gotten my laundry done and cooked supper and cleaned up the kitchen.

I've read all the posts. Sorry I'm too tired to comment. emoticon

Just wanted to let the ladies that are meeting in Shipshewana next week know that I got a Spark Mail from Little Janet and she is coming in on Tues to spend the day shopping with us and staying for the picnic at the campground. She has mine and Weezie's number and will call when she is close to Lolly's. She might talk her DH into coming to picnic with us as well.

If anyone else can come for just the day, we would love to have you join us!

Glad to see everyone is doing good.

TB I used to ride BB all the time, it was much easier than getting out all the equipment, the horse I had would work commands from tugging on her mane, pull left go left and so on, so I would go completely o-natural. Oh to be young and stupid again?!

Just to let everyone know I passed the physical with flying colors, so I can drive for another two years. I guess that's good? emoticon

Today was a sewing day, tomorrow I am taking the grands to a library program on mammals. Then I hope I get to visit my son and fiancť when I take them back home.

TB I love to hear your horse talk since I know nothing. It is fascinating to me when you talk about Red reading your cues.

Tammy good for you for not feeling sorry for DD about the wedding. Sounds like poor judgement on her part spending too much. But if she really wanted to go she would have done something different. Enjoy your meal out tonight

WG Jack visited me today also. Not that I wanted him to. Can we send him somewhere else?

Sharon I am impressed with our weight loss group. They are doing great and helps keep you on your toes. Great job on eating at Pizza Hut. I love pizza so we donít do that very often.

I forgot to mention When I took dad to the foot doctor yesterday we had to use a different door at his complex (front/main entrance is under construction) when we came back he was lost as to which way we needed to go to his apartment. I knew he was confused I could see it on his face and asked if he was lost and he said yes. It was a straight walk down the hall from the door we came in to his apartment.

Good Afternoon my friends!

I have had a busy day today. Water aerobics this morning. Then I came home and showered before heading off to weight club. My program this week (yes, I have been having a short program each week as we couldn't get volunteers) on the Benefits of Water Aerobics. Most of the ladies that go to the weight club were at water aerobics this morning so it was appropriate. I have to do a little bragging. We have 13 members (12 ladies and 1 man) and in the last three weeks we have lost a total of 92.7 lbs! These people are doing some serious losing. Our best loser this week is a high school girl that lost 8.6 lbs!! I was happy to lose .3 lbs. Not much compared to some but after my huge loss (for me) last week, I was happy to have another loss and not embarrass myself with these serious weight loss ladies!

I have to also tell you we went out to eat lunch/dinner at Pizza Hut after with my DD, GD, and GS this afternoon. However, we got salads and split one medium pizza between all of us. We let the two guys each have a second piece which left one piece each for the ladies.

Tammy - I think you did great to bite your tongue with your DD's "broke" situation. I guess her highlights were just more important to her than the wedding. Not much you can do as she is a grown woman. I don't think the younger generation have the same feelings about family functions that we had growing up. My mother would have boxed my ears for not going to a shower, wedding, funeral or graduation. It wasn't suggested - it was mandatory!

TB - I also enjoy your pictures and stories about Red on FB. You know I have a fear of horses so riding horseback sounds scary but it makes perfect sense that you are feeling one with the horse and he responds quicker.

SEK - I'm glad you could maneuver to get the weekend off to take Joshua rafting. I hope you have nice weather. Hopefully, we'll all have a nice weather weekend. It's due.

Weez2 - have fun in your garden today. Norm is excited about what you're bringing to Shipshewana. I had forgotten but Norm didn't. So be sure and bring him SOMETHING, lol.

Good afternoon. Had a sleepover with Princess Sofia and the Jedi was staying with his Dad last night for his birthday. It was interesting. We had the other kids over and DIL was wandering in and out again as though she was still in good graces. Unless DS makes a big deal, I'll live with it. He needs to decide what he wants to do before I draw a line in the sand.

I've been spending some time with the sewing machine. Jack and I were very good friends. Not very fun, but the project is coming along and I should have a table runner for the 4th. I had hoped that the girls would want to help and do one but still in the throes of trying to get the basement emptied and their energies have been getting their things out of there.

I've also spent time in my room cleaning out closet space. I need to empty it out and really dig in but may not for a few months. One big project at a time.

TB, I love the riding bareback. It was never a smart or safe thing to do but has always been very fun. My sister had a couple of horses and she did ride bareback a few times but mostly the horse behaved better with a saddle. I love the picture.

I expect that the disadvantage of owning a home in a desirable area is that you get visitors all season. It would be fun. My brother has a house near ski resorts and he has friends who visit even if he isn't there. He will call my son and the house will be opened for them. It is interesting to say the least. The guests are always good and very gracious.

Tammy, I'm sorry your DD is being a pill. You are right. She isn't spending wisely. Part of the illness and part of other things. I'm sure you would love to give her a piece of your mind, but you have taken the high road and are going to be happier in the end. You will still have a relationship and she will figure out you were right.

I'm glad you are finding happy things in your life even when other things aren't going well. I admire that in you and know that it is a purposeful choice. It helps me to look for positives and make choices that are happier.

Have to get sewing again. Want to get this done before the holidays are over. I've got some other table runners I want to do as well as some quilts. The quilts will be simple ones for the children and the runners will be seasonal.

Have a great day all.

Hi, Seesters!

Another early morning gardening/walking, lunch made up of garden produce, and a lazy in the cool air afternoon here. Our temps are supposed to cool down this weekend, and I hope to get some more things planted where others are done. I have finished the Mitford series book that I had, so am looking forward to going back to the library and getting another - it is one of the things that would pass the time next Tuesday when I am at the hospital for my mom's surgery. I also think that some pics of my 50+ Females buddies in Shipshe would help pass the time as well.

DH and I are going to Longhorn Steak house this evening to help celebrate Father's Day and stepdaughter's birthday. As Joe and I enjoy that place, it will be fun. I have been "good" all day and thrifty calorie-wise, so should be okay. I am having some success again at losing and don't want to mess that up and I wish to continue the slide in the right direction.

DD texted me that her thyroid TSH levels are high - trying to get in to her doctor before her appointment on 7/7 - also that she wasn't going to my niece's wedding on Saturday because she was "broke" - she wasn't "broke" when she got her hair highlighted last Saturday, so I didn't "bite" on that and think maybe it will be a good lesson to plan ahead a bit. She also has quit getting coffee drinks, etc, at the hospital by swiping her card, so that should help in the future as well. $120 in two weeks was pretty pricey, I think. [She really shouldn't tell me such things.] I do believe I am better, don't y'all? emoticon

TB, I am loving seeing your posts on FB. I have been on a horse all of one time, so it is all a learning experience for me.

Have a good day, everyone! Hello to all my Seesters!

Sorry I've been MIA for so long ... again. I'm hardly ever in the house these days, and when I am it's just long enough to scroll through FB posts, then I'm off again. I'm not complaining, though. I love being outdoors and with the weather being decent (mostly) this year I'm getting to spend tons of time with Red. There will be lots of time to huddle inside when winter arrives.

All is well. We've gone to a few of Li'l G's hockey games; we don't get to many when he's playing off season schools because the city where he plays is over 2 hours from here. We did get to watch him score his first hat-trick (3 goals in one game) a week ago. He was thrilled - and so were we.

Our first group of summer guests arrive this afternoon; normally, we have people visiting for most of the summer. We enjoy the visits but sometimes the sheer number seems overwhelming. (One of the perils of living on a lake in cottage country). Most of our friends are pretty self sufficient, though, so they're pretty easy to have around. I probably won't be here to greet these ones because today is farrier day at the stable and Red is in desperate need of a pedicure. Mr. TB will be around so they'll be just fine - and I'll be back when I can.

For those of you who don't know me on FB - my big news is that I've started riding Red bareback (just for a few minutes after our regular workout finishes). I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to because he is a race horse; he had never been ridden without a saddle, I wasn't sure how he'd react and - my skills are very rusty. It's kind of like riding a bike - you never forget how but ... He was really confused at first but once he figured out what I wanted I think he enjoyed the close contact as much as I did.

I grew up riding bareback and it's always been my favourite method. Without layers of leather and saddle pad material between the rider and the horse's back the cues aren't filtered, so the reaction time between asking for something and getting it is (literally) zero ... so the rider had better be ready!

I enjoy the bb rides, but somehow, I think my days of jumping on a horse, fresh from the pasture, and galloping headlong across the field are over. I'm surprised I survived my childhood ... emoticon

Here is a pic of the big day.

Take care all, and I'll pop by when I can.

"I Can't" means "I haven't learned how yet and I'm not going to try".

Just stopping by to say hey to y'all.

We've been trying to get summer school finished asap and my new "job" only gives me one day off at a time, which is really messing with my summer to do list. Oh well it is what it is.

Today is dentist, my physical for work that is required every two years, and then work, man that physical seems to come around fast.

Looks like everyone is busy.

We are taking Joshua rafting this weekend for his birthday, thought I was going to have to break the bosses arm to get these two days off in a row. So it will be fun in the sun for a couple of days.

Take care and have a wonderful Wednesday!

I ended up ordering a Traverse City Chicken Cherry Salad for lunch. I don't think it was too bad. A bed of romaine, with dried cherries, pecans and Gorgonzola cheese crumbles. There was 4 oz sliced grilled chicken and low fat raspberry vinaigrette dressing all for 380 calories. The only thing that had sodium was probably the chicken. Oh well, it was the best choice I could find.

We had a nice visit with our friends and Nala loves all the attention she gets. When they left, I put her in her crate and she's been sleeping ever since.

Now I have to get all my steps in so I better go.

Good afternoon Seesters. Have Fabio today and we've had a busy morning. He got tired and went right down for a nap. We didn't even read his favorite story (it is banned because of tantrums) again. I'll get it out again later today and we will read it.

DIL#2 and her kiddos are coming over for a visit. Her car is in the shop and her house has wet carpets. It is time to visit. I'm good with that.

Tammy, I love the Crocodile Rock and other Elton John songs. They have great rhythm and are fun to listen to. Don't play but expect it will be a fun one to play.

PJ, probably good to quit the Hospice as it isn't regular hours and you can't plan. You are busy enough to do without. I'm glad you got your dad to the podiatrist. That is a big deal. Glad the belt is helping with you.

SS, glad the puppy is sleeping better. It will work out with you and Norm. You are good parents. I don't know about the meal. It seems like if they use less salt that they up the sugars, but you can ask for specially grilled meats. The problem is that a lot of meats are frozen in a brine so the sodium is already there. I'm sure you will find something that will help.

Gotta go. Tons to do before Princess Sofia comes for a sleepover while her family goes to a baseball game.

Have a great day.

More thundering outside. So more rain coming. Ugh. I just got back from taking dad to his foot doctor appointment. I let them take care of his toe nails since they are so thick and he has deep callous that they tend to also. I took myself to the chiropractor again (I have an injured sacroillac so got another adjustment) the belt she put me in last week seems to be helping with the pain. Also stopped and bought another pair of Sketcher Go Walk slip on shoes. Love these shoes so comfy.

I also turned in my resignation to hospice today. It just isnít working for me anymore. Every time they seemed to call (which was very seldom) I already had some plans so I thought it was best just to call it quits.

Some restaurants advertise low sodium entrees, don't they, SS? Of course, it still might be too much...that is wonderful that Nala slept until 6 am.

I have piano lessons this afternoon. I helped with some trimming lawn work this morning - I used the electric weedeater for the first time, but I have wanted to do so for a long time. It helped me to get more steps, which isn't a bad thing, is it? emoticon We have cooler temps forecasted toward the weekend, and I hope to get some more gardening tasks done.

Have a good day, friends!

Morning!

Nala slept until 6am this morning! She's definitely improving with each day she's with us. Although she is outside this minute and letting us know she isn't happy to be out there alone.

We had quite a few severe storms move through yesterday late in the afternoon. There were even a couple tornado's that touched down wrecking havoc but none by us.

Today is another beautiful sunny morning. Our friends are coming over. We'll go out for lunch and then back here to visit. She is bringing some flower bulbs for Norm and she wants to see our puppy. I'll have to be very cautious about my restaurant meal as I have to WI tomorrow at weight club so perhaps a salad would be safe as there won't be as much sodium (one can only hope!)

Kelly and I thought we'd get a walk in before the rain this morning. We just got started when the storm front came in an hour early. Needless to say we cut our walk short when the thunder started. It rained almost all afternoon.

Kami spent the afternoon with me. She decided today was a good day to visit my mom because she didn't want Great G'ma to forget who she was. Mom had more fun with Kami entertaining her.

This G'ma is tired. It's going to be an early night.

We too had a beautiful day here but temps in the 90s. Went to Luke's tourney game tonight. THey got beat but Luke scored the only run for his team!! He was on cloud nine!

Tomorrow we are going to Indy and the to Brooke's game. That will be her last one for me. She plays Thursday night but I won't get there.

Had a very busy day here. Went to chapel, SVDP, then got my nails and feet done and then headed to Columbus for the game.

It is just one week and we'll be in Shipshe! Can't wait!!

WG, glad that your DS is doing better.

Tammy, sorry about Joe. I realize that it is hard not to be acknowledged at all. It isn't fair either. Our kids weren't here but did call. So Thomas was good with that.

Sharon, glad that you are enjoying your puppy.

I've heard from Weezie and she and her sisters are sewing up a storm!!

Good Evening!
We woke up to a beatific sunny morning but I couldn't enjoy it as I had to go for a mammogram and bone density tests. By the time I got home we had severe storms move through the state. We didn't have any major problems but high wind and lots of rain. There were a couple of tornadoes confirmed to have touched down. Right now the sun is back out. Strangest day!

Tammy - I am sorry for the way Joe is treated on Father's Day. Norm was lucky as both of our kids came with their spouses for the afternoon. Of course, it was to celebrate Father's Day but they enjoyed playing with our new puppy!

She is very cute and gets more playful every day. She goes down for the night around 11pm willingly. She sleeps until about 5am. Norm takes her out and she goes potty. She's then ready to play and doesn't want any part of her crate. By the time I get up around 7, they are both on the couch sleeping!

Hi, Seesters!

We "survived" Father's Day weekend. Some of you likely saw me tagged on pictures with my DH; that is all well and good, but definitely better when the person is actually on Facebook - DH is not. Another disappointing day...time for everyone else, and they can manage FB posts, but that is it....DH opted to "chill" and not answer his phone until today; he told me he wasn't sure what would come out of his mouth that would make things worse, and I actually agree with him. Both of us are better today, and almost out of the annual funk that occurs. Disappointing, for sure, but we are survivors. Most of our family is well, with the exception of whatever is going on with DD - perhaps her meds are working and perhaps they aren't.

It is very hot here today, and I was outside long enough in the heat that I actually had to go lie down for a bit, but feel better now. I am happy to report that I pulled my one row of beets, and now have both turnip greens cooked and pickled beets prepared - which are my favorite.

Have a good day...

Hi Seesters. It is quiet here today. DS went to work for the first time in 2 weeks He did much better over the weekend even with the holiday although DIL came into the house Friday afternoon and went downstairs to his room.

Got a good start on emptying out the basement for construction then I'll bring things back and put away what fits and leave what doesn't. It will work out in time.

Have a great day all. I'm thinking of you all.

Well, it's been a day to not do too much. We slept in and I got the laundry done and baked a peach cobbler. I made a chocolate sour cream pound cake. Thomas and I tasted it tonight and it is so rich and VERY chocolate. I froze it!

PJ, glad you got time to spend with your dad. Your time with him is so precious. Savor each moment.

WG, glad to hear that DS is in a better "place". Hope that it all works out so that he isn't in a bad place again.

Weezie2, the walk sounds great. I wish I'd had time to get out and enjoy some of the nice weather we had today but too much to do to get everything ready for the week ahead.

We have Luke's baseball game tomorrow and Brooke plays Tuesday night. We've got to take Thomas' truck into the dealer for some work on Tuesday morning and then we've got to go to Indianapolis. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I'm working all day. Saturday and Sunday is the Garden Tour sponsored by the museum and I'm working on Saturday but Sunday I've got to get ready to get to Shipshe!! I'm making lists! Now if I can just keep track of the lists!

Just got home from eating dinner with dad and spending some time with him. We are getting heavy rains again 3.5Ē earlier and more coming down and to get heavier again later. DH did get a gift card and card from youngest DS and family at the fair. Of course nothing from the oldest DS but nothing new there

Sharon I just picked up some new protein powder that Marianne uses. Jay Robb is the brand and come to find out he went to high school in this area (one of our nearby competitor high schools) and is 2 years younger than I am. The smoothies to tame my ice cream cravings if I am at home.

WG glad you are seeing some improvements in DS.

To all have a good Sunday afternoon.

Happy Father's day Seesters. It is wonderful to think of the fathers in our lives and how we are blessed by them. My own father died when I was 14 but I often see glimpses of him in my sons and nephews. I wish the children had a chance to meet him

LG, the mudder sounds like a bad one. The tropical storm has wreaked havoc on so many of you. I'd like a little more water, but will deal with what I'm given.

SS, hope you and Norm enjoy the day. I'm glad the kids remembered and are making plans to spend time with their father. It is a big deal to make those memories and to have them to treasure.

PJ, I'm glad you and the kids had a great time. It is so nice to have fun memories and happy times. Hope you and your husband have a great day today.

Tammy, it sounds like a fun day yesterday. I'm glad you had a good time. Sitting watching people is a great way to pass the time. I also have a book loaded on my phone in case people quit being fun to watch.

Weezie2, it sounds like a lot of fun to go on a walk. The kids' first dog was named Reggie. It sounds like fun to visit and walk and breathe the healthy air. Of course, the AC is always appreciated.

The kids cleaned out a lot and took home a lot of things that I was storing for them. I'm still going to store things for those two boys who don't own homes yet, but the other children need to take care of their own things. The boys had fun playing guns with each other.

DS went to church and sat with his family. The kids were singing to their dad and he didn't want to disappoint them. He really loves those kids and would walk on fire for them. He said it was strange but he is definitely stronger and should be fine to go back to work and be alone now that the medications and time are working for him. Hopefully, he will be getting back to normal, whatever that is, and be strong enough to make good decisions.

Have a great day.

Reggie and I just got home from a 3 mile walk with Kelly and Claire. It was a warm, humid walk. It feels real good to be back home and in the AC. I think my sewing room is calling me. We have a craft fair this weekend and I'd like to get a bigger inventory going into it.

Have a Great Sunday!

Morning! I hope you all enjoy celebrating Father's Day with Dad if you still are lucky enough to have them. For those of us who's Father's have passed, wish them a wonderful day in prayer and remember one special thing you loved about them. My Dad always said if you're going to do something, do it right! I know he would be proud of my determination to reach my weight loss goals!

LG - your clarification just makes it all the better. You aren't tied down at all. A part time job keeps you tied to home on the days you have to work. I say you found the perfect opportunity for you! The Tame the Terrain sounds awful for those that did it as well as the workers. I'm glad I didn't have to work at that job.

Tammy the trip yesterday shopping and out to eat sounds great. Our DD just called and asked Dad to meet at Logan's Roadhouse for lunch but we had to take a raincheck as our DS and DIL are stopping in early afternoon. At least both the kids remembered their Dad.

Weez2 - enjoy some time being a couch potato as you've earned it!

PJ - I'm so glad you had fun at the fair! I have been making a fruit smoothie often in place of an evening meal. I make it so thick you need to eat it with a spoon. I told Norm it has helped with my ice cream cravings so far this year.

WG - I love hearing how your adult kids have air gun fights! It's better than the paint balls and much cheaper!

Hello, everyone!!

I'm so tired....after working for 3 days and than today working at Tame The Terrain (obstacle race). Over 550 people did the race in the rain! And when I say rain I mean down pour. In fact one of the obstacles was wading across the river carrying a tire. Couldn't do it because the river was up about 10" and all the tires floated away!!! Electricity went out for over an hour. Just a mess!! There was nothing but mud everywhere. I'm tossing out the shoes I wore. I had planned to take my Wellies but forgot them.

SS, just a clarification....I only work for Sharynn when she is shorthanded. I don't want to work even part time. Mainly because I'd have to work some Saturdays. I had enough of that when we had our store. But she knows that she can call me when someone needs off.

I don't plan to do much of anything tomorrow...maybe just sew!

Hi, Seesters!

I spent the morning in the garden and then walking before it got so hot. DH and I went into Springfield [no flooding problems] and visited Bass Pro Shops and a couple of fly fishing shops for DH, Hobby Lobby for me, and then Longhorn Steakhouse, which was very good. I ate too much [would have been fine without the appetizer], but I had planned for it and had a shake at breakfast and will eat lightly tonight.

Drama - I hate it, and I hate it even worse on Facebook...I'm sure I'm not alone. emoticon

I am done working for the day. I have to shower before church tonight and then I plan on being a couch potato. My nephew came at 7:30 this morning to work on the yard. Kelly arrived about 11 and just left about 10 minutes ago. Except for water breaks and lunch we worked non stop. We pulled weeds, trimmed tree branches and spread wood chips. I already have more steps in than I usually have at the end of the day.

I'm going to close windows and put the AC back on. The temps are rising and we have a 70% chance of rain. I love the fresh air but the humidity gets to me.

Have a Great Saturday!

We thoroughly enjoyed the draft horse pull last night. Those are some BIG horses. The largest team weighed 4400 pounds. The last pull each team (that was still in the competition) was pulling 5000 pounds over their team weight. Talk about muscles. The boys got a bit bored with it so went to the playgrounds for part of it. They had some kind of spark show using a steam engine and laser lights but we left before that started but DS stayed with the boys to watch.

I got in the yard this morning and weeded and then did my part of the mowing before the temps got unbearably hot.

No sewing today taking another break.. I have material for 3 more purses then I will not make any more unless I get some orders. Tomorrow I will go spend time with dad.

Weez have a great time at Sister Camp we will be waiting for pics and reports of your projects.

Sharon love hearing the Nala stories. We didnít buy any kind of food or drink at the fair. We all had our water and that was it. But my mouth sure did drool everytime someone walked by with an ice cream cone. But when we left that stand was closed. Good for me because I know I would have gotten one.

To the rest of my seesters have a good afternoon.

Good morning Seesters. I'm singing the "good morning" song from Singing in the Rain so it isn't half bad today.

The boys (3 sons and a SIL) are playing with their air soft guns in a hollow near the house. It is getting pretty civilized, but they are still determined to play there. It is good that they are all taking time to be together. It is good that at least one of them is feeling good enough to want to be there. Had a good discussion last night and he is figuring out things his own way. Just not ready to "do the deed."

SS, good for your FItbit challenge. It is good to get those steps in and early when you can. You are really embracing the lifestyle of a healthier person. I know you will enjoy walks with the Seesters at Shipse.

That puppy is adorable. It sounds like a good combination and you will both enjoy her tremendously. How is the DGS doing?

Weezie, enjoy your Sister Camp and your time off. I'm sure your next manager will quickly get rid of all the junk. The problem with micromanaging is that you don't really take care of your own stuff well.

Computer is being cranky and I need to do some other things. Have a great day all.

Good Morning!

Nala is getting much more comfortable and playful in her new home. However, last night she whined a good portion of the night. Norm finally verbally scolded her to be quiet and surprisingly she did!! I guess he should have done that before 4am! After that she settled down and we got some decent sleep. For only being 7 wks old, she is so smart already. We have a very small ball (a cat's toy) that she loves to play with on our carpet. Every time she gets it out on the kitchen floor, she picks it up and brings it back on the carpet - too cute!

Enough about Nala! I have to get some serious steps in today as I'm in another Fitbit challenge.

Our park is having a parkwide flea market up on the basketball and tennis courts today so I'm about to walk up and see what's for sale.

Weezie - I'm pleased you get to do Sisters Camp every year. I know how much you enjoy it. I'm looking forward to seeing all the regular attenders that go to Shipshe. I'm sure that will be fun as well.

LG - sounds like you found a perfect part time job! I some times think I would enjoy working part time but I would have to find something that would work around our traveling. Norm found a job working for the park where he can set his own hours and they don't need him in the winter months so that works for him. Maybe I can find something too. Oh, and Nala is a YorkiePoo. Mom is a 5 lb toy poodle and father is a 9 lb Biewer Yorkie. Nala was the runt of the litter so we hope she tops out around 5 lbs. Time will tell.

Tammy - I hope everyone made it home safe by finding an alternate route. Is the rain from the tropical storm over now? It was pretty here earlier but it's clouding up for rain this afternoon. I think everyone is tired of rain!!!

WG - it is difficult to be so close and in the middle of all the drama. Plus, you see how it affects your son. My heart goes out to all of you. It's difficult to end a marriage with the kids involved but Dr Phil always says kids deal with happy parents that live apart easier than dealing with an insincere marriage between their parents. I hope you son is able to find his happiness zone. I think you are thinking wisely about transitioning into full time retirement. My DS is divorced and on her own. She says she won't be financially able to retire until she's almost 70. It is hard enough with both Norm and myself on our fixed income. I can imagine when you only have one's pension and SS. But you are smart and thinking it all through so I'm confident you will be fine.

PJ - I'm anxious to hear how your evening at the fair and draft horse pull went. It is smart both diet and financially to eat before going! Everything is always so expensive. Of course, with young boys it wouldn't hurt to get them a treat and be a favored Grandma!

Good morning all!

Well, just waiting for my sister to arrive so we can attempt to get all our sewing supplies, and clothes darn it, into my vehicle so we can set out on our adventure. WE plan to drive to Elizabethtown, KY today and tomorrow morning get up and finish our journey. Of course next weekend we'll drive it in a day. We can't check in till tomorrow anyway so this way we break it up and arrive early tomorrow. Beats driving in the night. I couldn't do it.

So many projects we have planned and I'll be sure to share. I'm just looking forward to the time with sisters and time away from my world as it is. I'm tired of the younger son and his drama with the wife who shall not be named. OF course I thought this would be a good time work wise as well and of course, it isn't. But this too is life and well, it'll wait. I did get the reports certified at the State that needed attention before the 30th since I took 2 weeks off. Never have done this before and if push comes to shove, I could go in on the 29th before heading to Shipsee. But the end of that week they are doing construction work at the building next door which houses our computer needs so we'll be without computer access. Makes it hard to function but of course the boss says that things like boxing up year end etc could be done EXCEPT she's not done her part (as she is a micromanager) and has to go through the 50+ boxes in the basement before we're allowed to send them off to shred so until she does, we have nowhere to move anything. Shoot, last year's stuff is still sitting upstairs with us so a bit of frustration by all. Of course, the Supt suggested she give everyone two days off as freebies but she's not having that. She is the $$ person afterall.

SS, the puppy is adoreable but agree, like having a baby.

WG, I'm sorry you too are being subjected to kid drama. My heart goes out to you. I do agree with retirement suggestions and I think your plan to ease into it. Sounds like you've given it much thought.

PJ, love the purses. What color are you making yourself?

Tammy, glad the rain has stopped and hope you're well.

Weezie2, getting excited to see you in Shipsee. Be sure to bring photos of the girls. They grow too darned fast!!

Did get a little time with the boys last night. They are fun but Kellan is a stinker and loves to antagonize his little brother. But we played outside and got to play hide and seek. Oh, DH brought Ava over for a bit so they had a picnic and she got to play with them a bit too. Anyway, a good evening and I had to let it go as I was stressing about getting things done. I did it. Silly me.

At any rate, I hope you all have a good week. If I can check in with my Kindle, will try to do so.

Enjoy!!

Had a very long day and we were very busy at the shop. It does make the day go very fast. I had enough time early this morning to sew one of the embroidered blocks for the baby quilt!
I still have about 20 blocks to make. So it will take me more time. But if I can get a whole day I should be able to make a dent in it.

SS, your furbaby is so cute. What kind of pup is it?

WG, drama is evil! Hope for your son's sake (his sanity and yours) that he decides to cut the cord. Seems to me that it is hopeless.

Tammy, we were supposed to get a lot of rain but now they are saying that we won't get that much and that makes me happy.

PJ, enjoy your event. I saw a draft horse pull at the Indiana State fair one year. Very interesting and those horses are huge!

Now I'm gone.

Hi, Seesters!

I think we may be about done with the rain from the tropical storm, but we have major road closures for flooding which may be interesting. It won't affect us directly, but I saw on FB that DD and SD and a niece may be finding alternate routes home from work.

WG, I enjoyed my day be taking a nap after doing laundry. I was up wayyyy too early; it just happened and hasn't happened for a long time, so I won't complain. At least I could take a nap.

Good morning. I'm up and moving. It was a long evening. More drama. It will be a very long summer.

I don't intend to quit working entirely. I need to have a job so I don't need to draw retirement yet. I didn't have the luxury of saving a great deal of money as I had counted on the husband's retirement until I didn't have a husband. I'm good for a bit but don't want to draw until I have to. I'll be looking between now and when I can retire. I need to use my vacation as well so I'll be carefully spending it.

LG, enjoy the fabric shop

SS, enjoy that little ball of fur. She is adorable. You will love her for sure.

PJ, the outing sounds like great fun. I'm sure you all will enjoy it. I hope you get the purse done and survive the humidity.

Tammy, enjoy your day.

Weezies, have a great one.

Bonny, enjoy some sunshine for me.

I'm off to clean and finish a table runner. It should be fun.

We are meeting the kids at a local draft horse pull tonight and of course their are booths both food and other stuff of all kinds there also. We are all eating at our own houses before meeting up at the fairgrounds. So that will help me stay good (hopefully). This will be the first time my DS's new family have attended and we have never been there for the draft horse pulls. I look forward to a good time.

I just did a session with Leslie and now will get started sewing trying to finish another purse today.

Our weather is really supposed to get warm and dry for the next week. More summer time weather and high humidity. Which I don't do well in. So my outside work will be done in the mornings.

LG sounds like you had a good productive day at the fabric store. Lots of cutting and selling.

Nope, not dead just busy!! We were very busy at the quilt shop today. A group of ladies from around Cincinnati came in today and bought tons of fabric and one of them bought a sewing table!! I cut lots of fabric and found a bunch I want!! Imagine that!

WG, I vote for retirement with a great big BUT! When we closed the store, we still had Thomas' insurance thru the State. It was OK and paid almost everything. When he decided to retire our premiums for our supplemental was just under $100. Now around $175. Doesn't seem like a lot but that is just for one of us and doesn't include our meds. Since they enacted Obamacare it has gone up 2X each year. We've tried to figure a couple of years in the future and plan but it is impossible. Don't know what the meds will be. I know this sounds like a "downer" but just a heads up. We have some very good investments and will be fine (I hope) but for some people it is just a shock.

Weezie, know that you are looking forward to Sister Camp. Enjoy!! You can hit the "diet" when you get back.

Weezie2, we've had nothing but rain here for the last couple of days and I know that I'll need to get out there and weed some things.

PJ, hope that the adjustment and the belt work.

Bonny, love the colors!! I sort of like Weezie...too traditional!!

Sharon, Nala sounds so cute. But I totally agree that you now have a newborn baby! emoticon on your weight loss. Wish I could get with it again.

Tammy, we are getting your rain and it is going to get worse tomorrow and Saturday. I just wish it would go away.

Not much to talk about today. Did my Zumba gold class this morning, bought some more material have enough now for 3 more purses (one of which will be mine) and then if I donít have any more orders I will be done for now.

I have been having a pain in my hip so broke down and went to the chiropractor today. She put me in a SI (sacroiliac belt) and gave me an adjustment said to come back in a week and to wear the belt for 6 to let the ligaments heal. Have no idea what I did but it has been hurting for over a week.

Bonny I love the sounds of your bright colored furniture but we need a picture.

WG if it is possible for you to retire I vote you do it so you can enjoy more time with the kids before they grow up. Maybe a small job to supplement your income is all you will need. And a different field all together might be exciting.

Sharon Nala is buttering you up right away. Sleeping on your lap. LOL

Weez2 we bought some little solar lights when we were in Texas at Walmart. In the shape of a butterfly, dragonfly and hummingbird. Bought one of each. They are fun to watch as they change colors.

Good Afternoon
We went and picked up Nala this morning. It took all morning as it's 1 1/2 hr dr each way. After lunch, we called our vet and they said bring her in. She has to have a Well Puppy Vet visit within three days in order for the Health Guarantee to be valid. The vet said she passes with flying colors and that we picked a "good" one! She weighed 2 lbs exactly at the vet's. She is a tired puppy from everything today (and a bath before we picked her up). She is settling in nicely but she's definitely going to be a lap dog. She wants to be held constantly. In fact, she's sleeping on my lap right now. So.....our lives as we know it is over! The next few days will be like having a new born baby.

While Norm was at the vet I made my stuffed cabbage rolls that I'm taking for our community pot luck. At least that way I know there is something I can eat.

Tammy - you're smart to remind WG about insurance. When I was forced to retire, I was too young to get medicare so I chose Assurant Health. My payments were about $400 a month but they charged me an add'l $50 a month for my build (or obesity) plus I had a huge deductible of $10,000. So insurance is a major deciding factor. Today is a good day for you to pull ahead of me on FitBit as I'm not able to get my normal steps in. I twisted my leg going down the stairs yesterday and it's pretty achy today so I think it may be a rest day.

Weezie2 - Norm just found some color solar lights. They start out white and turn different colors. I ordered them online. They will be nice in AZ around our MH.

WG - does DIL#3 stick around when she brings the kids over? It would be nice for your DS if he had some alone time with them. Of course, every time it is going to bring him down. For a long time to come. Have you considered being a Home Visitation Nurse? My SIL did that for awhile and enjoyed it but didn't like traveling in the winter.

Weezie - sounds like you pretty much packed and I know you are ready for Sister Camp. So have a great time and then you can buckle down when you get back. If you don't have your MOJO back by Shipshe, that will inspire you again. It always has for me.

Bonnie - It sounds unanimous that we all like your choice of colors for your couch and chair. My best friend had a bright red couch and I loved her decor. She had all the bright colors of the rainbow and it was beautiful. She used a lot of black as well. I'm glad you're enjoying the beach for all of us too. I think I'm getting a little tanner.

Hi, Seesters!

I was out walking and got "rained out" so am in now, and of course you can see what I am doing. I need to figure out what is going on with my smartphone/fitbit app - it is showing a lot of the info, but not my step #. I likely swished something and deleted or hid that part of it. I think I can fix it with my desktop.

WG, if you did take early retirement, how would that affect insurance? I kept my insurance through my school district when I retired, but I sometimes almost wish I was closer to 65 when I write out that check every month. I know that I still needed to retire when I did, but that check every month seems like a big "ouch", and the post-retirement part time job helps in that regard as well as a few others. One of the friends I had lunch with yesterday is turning 65 in August, and was at the Medicare/Social Security office a few days ago so as to definitely do whatever needs to be done in a timely manner so as to keep her deceased husband's vet benefits.

Weezie2, I planted two peppers and six tomatoes some weeks ago. I noticed a couple of almost ripe yellow cherry tomatoes, but a little pepper that began to grow 2?3? weeks ago STILL has not done anything else. I like LED path lights. I also like some solar lights that we have in one of our flower beds - they have the shape of hummingbirds, and they change colors and it is fun to watch them when it is cool and dry enough that we can sit outside in the evening.

Weezie, I am looking forward to reading about your Sister Camp this year. I am also looking forward to reading about Shipshe, too.

Bonny, yellow and red - I like it!

We've got another humid day . I did get out and added new garden soil to my veggie boxes. I have 6 tomatoes and 6 pepper plants in the ground. I do look forward to fresh, home grown veggies.

I bought new solar LED path light last night. I have them in my front flower garden next to the front of the house. They're bigger than the little ones that I've had for years. A few old ones needed to be replaced and couldn't match them up so I 'll use the little ones that still work in a few planters for a little fun. emoticon

Have a Great Thursday!

Good morning (still) Seesters. It is sunny and hot and I'm not enjoying the heat at all. I'm allowed to water only twice a week and my day was today. The automatic sprinklers didn't work today at all. I'm not very happy but will deal. Finally, I need to water after all these weeks of rain. It is still raining occasionally, the quick heavy rains that come with summer storms. Not enough to do what needs to be done.

I finally got my freeze dried veggies and got some pomegranate arels as well. The pomegranate are tart and fun to chew on. The corn and peas are sweet and like candy, but the green beans were a little disappointing. They aren't crisp but are a bit chewy. I'll still snack on them as they are helpful, but probably not repeat the adventure with beans.

Bonny, Red and Yellow sound cheerful and fun and full of joy. Just what you need in a fun place like that. Do enjoy the beach for me. I remember how much fun it was to live right on the beach and enjoy the sunsets (not quite like the West Coast but fun) and sunrises.

Weezie, enjoy your yogurt and your errands before you spend the time with all of your sisters and Seesters. And the grands before you leave. I'm glad you spend time with them as you can.

SS, WTG on the weight loss. It sounds like you got it done. It is harder as you get closer, but keep moving forward. Hope the new CD is interesting for you all.

Last night, I went out to Fro Yo with DIL #2 and we visited for a bit. While I was gone, DIL #3 (the prickly one that is giving me grief) showed up with the kids again to "eat dinner with daddy." He went outside and ate on the front porch but this morning he is in a blue funk again. Not a good sign when every time he has contact, he goes into a depression and dark place. I hope he figures it out soon so he is not stuck in this nasty place.

Fro Yo was fun, though.

I'm only eligible for the early retirement in December, but it is very attractive. I may have to look for something else not involved in Nursing. DD has some people who are retired who work in her organization. That may be a good fit, but who knows. I've loved what I do and I think I'm a good nurse, but finding another position is not going to happen as no one wants to hire an old nurse. I may be ready for a new chapter as I get to this point. I need to spend more time with the kids and grands and I want to be available to go to the games, recitals, have the kids over, and play with them. I may be able to babysit some of the other babies as well.

I'm off to work on a baby quilt then I need to do something fun. I've got to work on clothes for the American Girl dolls as I have fabric and things to make clothes for the girls and they would enjoy some summer time play.

Have a great day all.

Good afternoon all!

Well, all left me alone and it is lunch time. I'm having my yogurt for lunch today as I'm not really hungry and I need to focus on how I feel rather than the time of day. Right?

Bonny, I love the 'color' of your furniture. My sister has very bright bold colors as well and is fun. I'm pretty boring and never have done much in the way of 'decorating' so I admire those of you who do!!

Have a free evening so I can address the last minute stuff for the trip. Tomorrow I will get a little grandson time in and then home to a little Ava time. She'll spend the night and then the day with DH on Saturday. They have no problem keeping one another occupied. LOL

I didn't get a chance to read all through the thread but did pick up on WG and possible retirement in just months? I too say go for it!! I will be excited when I'm down to months rather than years although 3 years doesn't sound as daunting.

Just wanted to check in and let you know I was thinking of you all and 'thinking' about my food choices today. I really need to get my mojo back!!!

Thanks for being there gals.
