Good Evening!
Well, I woke up this morning feeling lousy, still in pain after a sleepless night. So I called the Dr. Mine was not available but I got right in to an associate. After a lengthy exam which included a pelvic, she told me I had a Vaginal Prolapse which is causing all the pain. She told me to go on a liquid diet for 24hrs and then a semi soft bland diet for 48 hrs. If the pain is still there, call and schedule an apt with my dr. She did say it may be too late for get relief with Physical Therapy and surgery may be in my near future. I googled the internet and none of the Vaginal Prolapse articles mention the pain I have been experiencing. I'm not sure what the diet will do to help but I may lose a lb or two.

WG - being a nurse, do you think my eating will help the pain? This dr said sometimes the prolapse is slow and sometimes not. She said the spasms I experienced last Feb could easily have been when it fell and not a spasmodic piriformis. I was told that by the nurses but they assured me that they were not doctors and if it lasted over 48 hrs to go to the dr. I never went in as the pain went away. So, being as it's National Nurse's Day, I am asking for your opinion. Have you had any experience with a vaginal prolapse?

Just want to say emoticon . It's been a weird day....first my alarm didn't go off and I got up late which I hate doing. Had to be at the museum at 8 for a school tour for 65 3rd graders. Now that's herding cats!!

I did get the mondo bag done. And that is a plus. I have a wall hanging I want to work on the next time we get together.

Tammy, I work only 1 day a week for now but she is wanting more hours as she gets closer to moving her store to a new larger location.

We are going to Jason's tomorrow to tear his old hot tub out. Then in the afternoon, Luke plays his first baseball game. So we have a busy weekend on tap.

Hi Seesters. It is stormy outside and I've seen hail and lightning. I'm inside safe but Fabio and mom are at a petting animal fair. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully he will get to do some.

Yesterday was Enterprise's birthday. One more and all the little ones will be two. They are getting so fun and wild. It gets more and more like herding cats and they can get into mischief so easily. They are becoming cousins and sometimes friends which is nice. Still a long way to go, but it is fun.

Tammy, I'm glad you gifted yourself for Mother's day. I believe in gifting myself also. Haven't done much but some years I get something quite nice. Gardening is so good for the heart and soul. Hope you enjoy the meat that Joe is cooking.

SS, weather isn't cooperating, is it? I'm sure you all would prefer to be outside walking. Hope your tummy is better. Not doing your routine can make everything work less well.

I'm reading an article for Spark about the Biggest Losers and how most have gained most of their weight back. It is interesting that they burn fewer calories than they used to and can eat very little before gaining weight. We've all known that as it seems like the "skinny" folk can eat anything and we are stuck with our calorie watching and any slip up causes us to gain weight. I don't know about long term effects but the group they studied was from 2009 and that should be enough time to make a judgment.

Thanks Weezie2 for the sleep sack idea. I might have to find a way to make some for my new grandson coming in July. The other kiddos wouldn't wear one to save themselves. I really enjoyed the "footless sleepers" that my babies wore. I felt they were warmer than just in pajamas. And they don't climb out of the crib as easily.

I had lunch with Miss Belle for her birthday at school. They have a table at school and parents/grandparents can bring lunch and eat with the child on his/her birthday. It was fun. Then she reminded me that she was missing lunch recess. I went home.

LG, hoping sewing circle went well.

Gotta run and get some chicken put away. I was waiting for it to cool enough to handle then I'm cutting it up and freezing it. Then DS and I can use it with our meals. I love portioned foods.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

I have already gifted myself for Mother's Day - today is the gift certificate bargain from Missouri Star Quilt Company, and I treated myself. I had been watching it; I am trying not to buy anything until I have used some of my stash, but even then I left myself this "out". I would have worked on the baby quilt yesterday, but I needed to clean my iron and it still isn't clean to my satisfaction.

Yesterday was a big lawn/garden day and if today is as big a garden day, I will be done with planting for now. It isn't as plentiful as I originally intended, but I do have a habit of making things harder than they need be. I was sure I would be sore today, but it really isn't too bad.

Joe is going to smoke a turkey and some ribs this afternoon - the weather, etc finally all lined up to his satisfaction emoticon

PJ, emoticon

SS, hope you are feeling better.

LG, are you working at the quilt shop a certain number of days/hours?

Weezie2, what a good zipper deal.

Weezie, I think you are feeling better as I saw both you and LG already have steps in for the daily challenge. I think I am still under 1000 for the day. LOL

WG, I wish I could be as disciplined as you are with your quiltmaking. It seems anything distracts me. Or perhaps I am waiting until everything is perfect - like it ever will be emoticon

I have heard from both my 20somethings as to Mother's Day - I shall see DS after lunch time on Sunday, and will be seeing DD sometime over the weekend - she wanted to coordinate with BF's schedule. I did steer a perfume gift into a gift of flowers for a new-to-me planter LOL It's not that perfume isn't a nice gift, but I have some that will take me years to use at the rate I am going. LOL I try to be aware that the fragrances can trigger migraines in some folks, so I really don't wear it as much as I used to.

Okay, enough of my rambling...have a good day!

Good Afternoon!
We went to the Community Coffee this morning. When we got home, we were upset because we had an ant invasion while we were gone. So I spent time cleaning them up and using product to prevent it from happening again. The first year we lived here we had an ant invasion by the front door but this is a first by the kitchen. I wasn't happy!

Then this afternoon, I've been doing laundry and trying to get my walking in. I don't know what my problem is but today I am having cramping in the lower tummy area. I struggled to put clean sheets on the bed. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow, I may have to call the dr.

I'm sort of flying by here this afternoon. I need to get the church laundry ironed and I need to pack up my sewing machine as we have sewing circle tonight. I'm still trying to finish the Mondo bag!

Weezie2, I absolutely hate putting in zippers. Haven't done one in years. More power to you!!

WG, glad that you DS is taping those conversations. He's smart! And she is trying for a power grab by having him on her turf. Hope this gets settled soon for your sake.

My zippers came in late yesterday afternoon so I'll be finishing up Claire's sleep sacks this afternoon. Weezie told me about Wawak for sewing supplies. Zippers are on sale right now if you buy 2 the 3rd is free. I paid less than $20 for 30 zippers that are 20 -28" long. I do have a few other projects that required long zippers too. I'm sure I'll be making a few more sleep sack as Claire gets taller. They still come in cheaper than using a coupon at JoAnn's and I hate the limit if only getting 1 or 2 at a time. My order was here in 2 days so it's a quick turn around if anyone has a project or 2 emoticon

The sleep sacks are a nice way to keep our little ones covered up at night when the wiggle around and knock their covers off. Kelly's friend like them when her kids got older they couldn't climb out of their crib either.

I've been going to a program at church on Wednesday night called ChristLife. I'm really enjoying it. Our church offers so many different programs and I really need to start taking advantage of them.

Have a Great Thursday!

Good evening. Busy day although I got almost nothing done.

SS, it is nice that Norm can be doing things for you. I love the idea of a "mud room" sort of coat/boot place in the entryway. So many homes have them. I have thought about putting some in my garage so the boots don't come inside but haven't done it yet. I just have a jumble of boots/shoes at the front door. One day... I hope you and Norm feel better soon.

Love Nala's new "do" and enjoy the story about DGS and his fiance.

PJ, it will be hard no matter what to move your Dad. It probably isn't what he wants or can appreciate now. In his clearer mind, he understands the "why" but it isn't easier. I'm sure it tears you up as well. Hope you can keep the balls in the air and get the wedding done as well.

Weezie2, love the bags. You have personalized them quite nicely. I love the thoughtfulness you put into your work. The sleep sacks sound fun. I'll have to look into making some for the new grand due in July.

Tammy, so glad that school is over. Your anniversary sounds interesting. The "former" anniversaries still have a lot of power. I'm glad you don't give your children memories they don't want to keep. I also enjoy pictures. I know I seldom share them, but I do enjoy them. I'll have to download a few and get them on.

LG, so glad you can enjoy Sharyns and some new responsibility and challenges. It is fun to have something to keep you interested. Even if you don't do it long term it sounds like fun.

The grands are here. It took some negotiating of both attorneys with DIL to get her to let the kids come and he still had to pick them up at her house. It was one of the things he doesn't want to do as she tends to feel more powerful there and verbally attacks him in front of the kids. He's taken to recording his encounters with her. That's nuts.

Have a wonderful day tomorrow. I'm home but working the weekend. I usually get Father's day off because I am normally scheduled Mother's day. Not this year. I'm not sure what will happen, but I'm about done working all the special occasions.

Have a great day everyone.

Good evening, all!

I'm a bit tired as today was my work day. We were busy and I was trying to get the newsletter out and we had computer trouble. But it all worked out in the long run. I plan to hit the hay here pretty soon!

Weezie2, love the totes! Hope that you were able to get out and walk.

Tammy, glad you are heading into summer break. Our grandkids will be out of school in 15 days. Hard to imagine that the school year is almost over and our Brooke will be a Sophomore in high school.

PJ, I agree with all the others....your dad will experience some tough moments and confusion. My mom did not have Alzheimer's and she had a bit of an adjustment to their schedule. She was used to doing what ever she wanted....when she wanted. But he'll manage and I think he'll begin to like it.

WG, glad that your have such nice neighbors. That is always a plus in my book.

SS, I'm sure that it can be very "trying" to be constantly called to do something for others. It does get old. You and Norm are very good people and some times others take advantage of that. Nala looks so cute! Glad that you got to spend time with your GS and his girlfriend. We are also talking about doing some renovations. You are very lucky that Norm can do those things for you as we have to hire some one.

Well, ladies....I'm tired and heading to bed.... emoticon

Hi, Seesters.

Weezie2, very nice! I would love to see a sleep sack. I DID google it, though. emoticon

SS, I am glad you had a nice evening...

PJ, happy thoughts/prayers that the move goes smoothly.

Weezie, hope you are better today!

Happy Wednesday!
Or is it? We have another rainy crappy cold day! And we are feeling a little like a taxi service this morning. Our neighbor across the street couldn't get his scooter started in the rain, so he asked Norm to run him in to work. Then another neighbor (who is in a hard boot for a foot injury) called to see if I would run her to the store as her dog is out of food and he's howling for his breakfast! Yeesh! We don't mind but we are NOT a taxi service so I hope it doesn't continue or we'll be saying NO!

We had a fun evening with Hayden & Whitney last night. Hayden ate A LOT! He said he hasn't had such a good home cooked meal in a long time. He and Whitney eat fast food most evenings and if she does cook it's something easy and quick. Then Norm and Whitney groomed Nala. I forgot to get a before picture but here's the after:

Weezie2: I love the tote bags! Thanks for sharing.

PJ - Gosh, once the decision has been made, it's going quickly. Don't be surprised by your dad's confusion. He'll probably get worse during the chaos of moving. But, I think he will settle in and may even like it. He may be able to have more social interactions.

Tammy - the years definitely go by quickly. BUT, it sounds like you are in a much more mature and loving relationship with Joe. So, although divorce and mixing families can be difficult, you and Joe are doing much better than some.

WG - how nice your neighbors watch out for you and help you when needed. When we moved here, we made the front bedroom into my office. When we built the garage on, that is the room we had to put a door in. So now you walk right into the house from the garage through that room. It has a beige carpet which Norm has never liked so he is replacing the carpet with hardwood floors. Then the previous owners left windows open in rain all the time and the window sill needs replacing. So he'll do new window and trim. Then I want Norm to build me an entryway cubbie so when people come they can hang their coats and have a place to sit and put on their shoes. It is a big renovation and I don't look forward to the mess but you know exactly what that's all about! So I will be posting pictures. First, we have to start feeling better. Then Norm has to do it while he's working for the park so it will probably be an all summer project going into the fall.

Tammy do you want a picture of the sleep sack too?

As promised here's a picture of the totes. The 6th one had golden yellow lettering and the lining and wristlet were Packers fabric.

I made some progress on the baby quilt. I hope to be quilting it this weekend.

Its been a whirlwind around here. We will be moving dad Thursday of this week. They called Friday and said they had an opening. Frank and I went up and toured again on Monday and gave them the official word that we were going to move dad in. So I have been trying to make phone calls and get things lined up. He is not thrilled about it very confused and nervous. Tomorrow I am going to his apt and we will pack up the things he will take with him. I gave them notice that his apartment would be empty by May 31. So at least I don't have to that done too quick.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Hi, Seesters!

I got my 10K in earlier than some days. I've been tying my flex to my tennis shoe strings when I've been in stores. Lol

Tomorrow will be the last day that I spend with students before they take their finals. Im ready; I'm sure my students will be as well. I've done the best I could do.

Yesterday I realized that it had been 36 years since I married my children's dad. I was just kind of startled to realize it and think about how very different my life is from what it was. I thought about how I don't ever have to be concerned with Joe making fun of me. I can't tell my kids things like that, of course. Lol

I do hope to do some sewing on the baby quilt over the weekend. I think I may quilt by stitching in the ditch. The sleep sacks are interesting to me.

LG, what are you reading? Did you finish the Macomber book?

Pics of totes, wedding decorations, a groomed puppy, quilts, etc would be nice - hint!

Today is much nicer than they originally predicted. I'll be walking Reggie around the lake after lunch.

I'm working on a baby quilt that needs to be finished next month. I finished a sleep sack for Claire and waiting on my zippers to get here in tomorrows mail to finish the other ones. It's crazy that I can them cheaper online even after paying for shipping and it's better than tempting me in JoAnn's...lol

I did finish the totes for my SIL. As soon as I download the pictures from my camera I'll post a picture since you asked to see them.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Hi Seesters. The boys are here so I've just got a minute. I got busy last night so I didn't have time to do much of anything.

Some neighbors came by and "cleaned up" my tree and fixed my fence. The boys were coming together on the weekend, but it is nice it is done. Today, the city is coming by to pick up the debris from the curb and "chip" it. I shall miss my tree but appreciate the quick manner it is being taken care of.

SS, what are you moving into your study?

LG, glad you voted.

Weezie, hope you feel better soon.

Gotta run. Keep hoping to get time to do something else, but will make time later.

Whatever is going around is hitting a lot of people here in our park. We are starting to feel better. We do have sunshine and a much nicer day so I'm sure that helps. Looking forward to our GS & finance coming this evening, especially Nala getting groomed!

Does anyone besides me do the new Activity Hour with FitBit? I have been trying to walk 1,000 steps every hour from 9 to 6. That gets me at my goal and seems easier. However, it doesn't normally take 10 minutes to walk 1,000 steps so my Active Minutes has went down. I'm not sure which is better but a year ago I was rarely getting in 10,000 steps a day so I'm happy about that.

LG - I swear I can smell your cinnamon rolls! I am so out of control that I'm glad they aren't here. All my chips, cookies and candies are gone, gone gone! I told Norm no more sweets until I start losing again. When I'm back under control I'll allow them in the house. Until then, he'll have to get his treats outside the home! I also started a new book last night. It's just a light historical romance about a mail order bride. It's a good quick read for me.

Hello, ladies!

Well, the weather here is just awful.....rainy, gray, cold, and just plain awful! I don't plan to go out again today. I did go and vote. Making cinnamon rolls now but later I'm hoping to get upstairs to my sewing room. Still working on the Mondo bag. I'm starting on a new project next week so I need to get this done.

Sharon, hope that Norm is feeling much better. Weezie is sick today. She didn't go to work.

I'm hoping to start a new book today but I need to get to that sewing!!

Hope that you all have a great day!

Just a quick check in! It's been kind of a lazy day. I have been going through my office and trying to get it organized for when everything has to be moved!

Norm is still not feeling well. Seems to have the same stomach and headache bug that I had last week. Hopefully, he'll feel better tomorrow when our GS & his finance are coming for dinner. Whitney is going to help Norm groom Nala. She needs it badly.

Otherwise, I'm just trying to get my exercise in. I hope you all are having a good day!

Hello, ladies....

WG, wow....lots of damage. When we had wind here we lost part of the roof on the old store building. So that needs to be fixed. DIL sounds like a "case". Hope that DS gets full custody and gets those restraining orders. I have a friend whose son got full custody of his 3 boys. She only sees them in the summer time and then only for a couple of weeks. They really don't want to be with her. And you are right, a little work never killed anyone. Last time Luke was here, he made a mess and I told him to clean it up. Next thing I knew he had the sweeper out, hooked up and was sweeping the floor! So go for it! Sorry about your dog. That is awful.

PJ, I too am waiting to hear about how your dad took the news.

Sharon, I'm waiting on the challenge as I want to lose another 10 lbs.

Weezie2, good for you! I don't have that problem with JoAnn's. Sharynn's is a different story!

We just got back from Carmen's 2 games. They won one and lost the other. But Carmen scored 6 points so that is a good thing.

We have friends coming over and we are eating pizza. Good thing it is Sunday and my WI isn't until Saturday and I work it off!!

Dear Seesters. It was a long night. the wind blew all night 40 mph or more. The banging of debris kept me awake most of the night.

This morning I found part of my fence gone, some shingles gone and my 25 year old dwarf apple tree that is in the protection of my house and another fence down by the roots. It will be a bit to clean up but I'll live. perhaps get a new roof out of the whole thing.

DS stayed home from church with the kids to avoid any more drama but there will be some tonight when the kids are returned.

The kids are doing fine and are happy here. They get down time and get to play and be silly and d make them clean a bit this morning. A little vacuuming never hurt anyone.

DS is at the point he is thinking about asking for full custody and is getting a restraining order and protective order as well.

She has had counseling but doesn't like it. She doesn't like to take medication either as she likes the way she feels. That others don't like it is not her problem as they are very wrong. There is nothing that is her fault or that she is responsible for. Why should she need help.

SS, thanks for your kind words. I know it gets to be a broken record.

Dog is doing a bit better. She certainly stroked on Tuesday night and has some significant deficit. She is moving better and should be able to go a bit longer. I think of SS and PJ and Tammy when your dogs passed. i remember how hard it was for all of you. You are doing fine now and I shall also. Just not today.

Have a great day.

Good Afternoon
As soon as dinner is over, we are going to visit our SIL that had surgery last week. She came home on Friday and Norm's brother says she is finally up for visitors. He said she didn't want visitors in the hospital because she had a nasal tube and couldn't talk. I agree because they release you from the hospital so quickly, most people don't feel up to visiting while they are there.

Weezie2 - we have the crappy rainy weather here as well. Nala so misses her walks so I walked her around the block while it wasn't raining.

WG - you haven't mentioned any drama with the DS & DIL so, silly me, I was thinking things were settling down. I don't mean to offend you but that situation sounds like something I would see on Dr. Phil. I think they (she) needs some professional help. I think you mentioned your DS is going to counseling. I hope she is too.

LG - you actually did well with your weight in April. Most of us did not. My clothes are not fitting as well so I can tell I've gained. SO, I'm thinking I need to get another challenge going. All you ladies, watch for the invite soon. I hope you join us again!

PJ - June 4! Wow, you only have four weeks to get ready and now you have to move your dad to the VA home. You will be busy! How did you dad take the news. We are all waiting to hear.

We're having another rainy day here. The gardens are looking so colorful with all the plants but the weeds have got to go. emoticon

I did get in and out of JoAnn's last night without buying anything for me. My friend bought some soft leather like vinyl. We were lucky and used a 60% off coupon on it. Her grandson and his friend like to play cowboys so I'm helping them out and making a pair of chaps. I'm using the original pair that he outgrew pair as a pattern. They're pretty simple to make. I hope to get that project done this week.

Claire needs a few new sleep sacks. She's getting so tall that the other ones I made are getting a little snug. I want to get them done today so I can give them to Kelly tomorrow when I watch Claire.

Have a Great Sunday!

Good evening Seesters. I'm waiting for the power to go out. The wind is blowing 40 mph steady with stronger gusts. It is supposed to be as bad as the one that blew down all the trees a few years ago. I got a great view from that storm.

PJ, hope your father gook the news of his move well. It is hard no matter what happens. I have been reading a book on "end of life" care . I've been intrigued by the things that make that transition a good one and the questions we need to ask. The things we look for in a "home" are not the things that the parents look for. The biggest thing that I'm taking away is the Bottom line questions. "What do you want the end of your life to be. What are you willing to give up and what is not negotiable?"

There is a lot more, but I found it quite helpful and I'm glad it was recommended to me.

SS, you are doing well at keeping your streak. It's hard to change environments and not have to adjust things again. I'm sure you will find the balance again.

LG, I love that you punt and keep busy. Hope you found something fun for the end of the day.

Weezie, hope the birthday party went well.

Weezie2, Did you make it to Joanns without buying?

Tammy, love the pictures of strawberries. Hope you got your power point done yesterday.

Still having drama with DS. It will pass.

Have a nice Sunday. Expecting some great drama then. will talk to you all later.

Well, I guess we all have the same weather around this part of the country....it is gloomy, cold, & rainy here too. Had planned to plant some flowers this morning but instead I'm cleaning house. emoticon Hate cleaning as much as cold weather!!

Sharon, I pledged to lose 5 lbs in April but only lost 1.8 so I'm not too unhappy. I must admit that I think it is all the walking that I've been doing and working has helped as I don't have as much time here to nosh! You'll get yourself back on track. I have faith in you.

PJ, as Sharon said this might be the best solution for your dad. He may not understand but I think he'll come around. You are in my emoticon and my emoticon

Weezie2, glad that you are back on track. We all have times that bring back memories and make it hard for us emotionally. Stay the course, my friend!!

Now I've got to get busy and do some more cleaning. Our bathroom really needs it!!

Sharon...April has always been an emotional month for me. My weight fluxuated all month long. I'm now within a pound of where we ended our last challenge. I kept gaining and loosing the same 5 pounds all month. May will be better weather and a better frame of mind. Nicer weather means longer walks with Reggie and Kami loves to ride her bike around the lake now too so that will help. Getting busy in my yard is also a bonus. I still want to be down another 10-20 before Shipsee.

Kami spent the night and Claire is here to play. it will be a fun, busy day. Kelly and I have church tonight.

A friend has a sewing project for me so I'll have to make a trip to JoAnn's with her. I already made her promise not to let me buy any more fabric for me. I'm still working on UFO's so I won't feel guilty getting material for a few new additions to the family in Shipsee. I'm excited to go back to those new quilt shops too.

Have a Great Saturday!

Good Morning!
Cold and overcast this morning but it's not raining (right this minute) but 50% change of rain all weekend.

PJ - let us know how your dad takes the moving news. It won't be pleasant but it might be the best birthday present he receives! You are going to be one busy lady the next few weeks. What date in June is the wedding? I'm sure you mentioned but I've forgotten.

LG - you are so good about going to Brooke's games, even in bad weather! I know we can expect rain in April but the month is almost gone so hopefully the April Showers will bring the May Flowers with some sun and warmer temps!

WG - I'm glad you got out a little early and can spend some time with your dog. Your dog's life has also changed with all the differences in your home. It's hard to roll with all the changes at 14.

Weezie2 - I ended up gaining 5 lbs in April and I wanted to lose 5 lbs. I just can't seem to get a handle on my eating the last couple of weeks. How are you doing? I noticed you haven't checked in the last couple weeks on our April Accountability thread.

Weezie - what a mess with the Ransomware email. Sorry you are dealing with that! Today is you birthday party.l It's not raining here right this minute so I hope it works out for you with no rain for the party.

Yesterday I treated myself to a chiro adjustment and a pedicure after receiving the call from the VA that they should be able to get dad in either May or June. They will be putting him into the locked memory ward (which did throw me for a loop I expected them to start him in the regular wings) but after thinking about it that is what is best so he wonít have to be moved into that wing later. So all is going to hit at once with the wedding in that time frame too.

Banking with dad this morning Iím really confindent in my decision of moving dad to the VA home. He is starting to mess with his meds. As I am finding some in wrong bottles. Luckily it has only been his lo dose aspirin so far. Ordered myself some new eyeglasses.

Grilling out halibut filet, fresh asparagus from our garden and sweet potato for dinner tonight.

UPDATE: We just got a call from the VA dad will be moving next week. If we turned this opening down it could be another year. I will give dad the news tomorrow when I am there eating lunch with him. Tomorrow is his 92 birthday too not what I wanted to tell him on his birthday. Busy week ahead.

Good morning.....

Well, it's not starting like I'd like....can't seem to get my emails. I'm not happy. In fact, I haven't gotten any from SP for 2 days. I've gotten them on my Fire and phone but not my computer! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......

I've been working in my sewing room the last 2 days working to clean up and get rid of stuff that I'm not using. Weezie2, I've got a few things for you when we get to Shipshe!

Weezie, hope that the weather holds for you for tomorrow and the party. I went to 2 different nurseries yesterday and got some plants and hope to get them planted tomorrow.

WG, hope that "things" are settling down for you and your DS.

Tammy, thanks but I still have about 50 or more license plates and I'm not interested in making a row by row quilt. Sharynn's where I work is gearing up for this and it will be fun but I'm not going to make it.

Well, the sun has popped out and I'm hoping that it warms up a lot today. We went to Brooke's softball game yesterday and I was wrapped up in a blanket and a jacket. Brooke hit a double and a triple but they still lost. But I do think they are improving.

Have a great Friday!!

Hi Seesters. Home from work a few minutes early. It was good as I needed to be home.

LG, so glad your doctor picked up and all you had to do was take care of things. It has been a crazy few weeks for you for sure. Loved your story about the "homeless" woman who bought a long arm. What a surprise!

SS, sorry you have my rain. Still getting storms but it is a good thing. Most of our water for the year comes in April and May, plus the winter snow. Sounds like you are enjoying your life in MI as much as you did AZ

Gotta run. Dog is having problems. It is expected as she is 14. She needs some extra love today.

Have a great day.

Evening all,

Well I decided I had to walk away from my sewing room. I'm struggling with a project that ought to be a no brainer but of course I'm screwing it up. Been one of them weeks.

Yesterday morning we got a weird email. Everyone in the district. I looked at it and looked at it and decided it might be something I was waiting for from a prospective employee. Well, it was bad and I think at least 10 people in the district opened it. Yep, Ransom ware. Got in and took over some of our files so today our tech folks were working fast and furious to recover things from backups. I don't believe we'll be paying any $$ out to whomever got in with this crap but I have a few questions for our tech folks. Like did this breach 'phone home' so to speak? It got a hold of some HR and Financial info so of course concerns about personal information. My DH thinks, most often, these don't but one can never be sure and the tech guys should have, or should know how, to check to see. If so, I think we'd need to let everyone know to watch their accounts. Ugh. I felt so stupid. I know better but I've been posting to classifieds and it came through like something legit. Yet another lesson learned. In the meantime, since my computer has been under surveillance of sorts and getting things cleared up, we cleaned house. The boss has been gone the past 3 days so we started purging what we felt we could without her blessing. SO at least we kept busy.

Got my t-shirt quilt back from the quilter two days ago and was pleased. This is a new person I decided to try and very reasonable. So now I'm anxious to get it done. I got the binding made now to get it machine sewn on and then finish it up with the handwork. I'm hoping, before 'sister' camp, to have it done. So many projects, so little time.

Having a little 'family' birthday party for the youngest grandson on Saturday. I hope the weather holds so we don't have to stay inside. It can be cool but please no rain. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

LG, I'm glad your blood pressure situation was resolved. Not like you to forget but you've been busy with the pies and all. I can't wait for Shipsee and our pie eating. LOL

SS, I'm sure you're not enjoying the weather you returned to here in MI. Maybe one day we might see spring and a moment of summer mixed in.

WG, glad to hear you're issue with the IRS is being resolved. What a mess for sure. IT is really sad what people will do these days. I know there are a lot of good but it seems, as of late, all we hear is the negative. I guess that's why I avoid the news.

PJ, hope things work out with the VA.

Tammy, the request for the row-by-row from MO is for the actual kit. Not the license plate. Shoot, I have a ton of them I need to get busy using. I really would like to make the same pattern LG did. IT is very cute but likely have enough to make two. So if you would buy the kit when it is available, my step DD will be thrilled. She thinks its the cutest thing ever. (Whatever - LOL). Just let me know the cost and I'll reimburse you and shipping of course. Thank you again for being willing to help me out.

Our guild it making 'safe' sleepers for a facility in Battle Creek so I'm working my way through the pattern. It isn't tough but following the instructions they've provided leave a lot to be desired. So I thought I was on my way when I realized I put one of the sleeves in backwards and decided it was easier to tear off the ribbing and turn it around. It's a yellow fleece so you can't tell right from wrong side. So that is where I'm at. Then to figure out the neck band thing and sew the big seams. We're making 200+ so I need to figure it out so I can work on at sister camp. My sister and I took 5 apiece and of course plan to get the others to help us with. Our time donated to help out.

Now I need to think about bed. Ready for Friday and the weekend. Two weeks from Saturday we leave for GA. I'm so ready. Well, mentally. LOL

Hope you all are doing well and wishing you all a great Friday and weekend!

Good Afternoon!
It seems like I'm sitting down to my computer a little later every day. This morning it is so cold and raining hard. We even took the car to the clubhouse for coffee for the first time ever as it's only 4 blocks away from the house! I even wore a coat with a hood as it was raining so hard.

Our headaches seemed to have abated although I still have a sinus headache which is completely different from the one Norm and I both had.

LG - I bet after that scare with your BP you will remember to take your meds! I'm glad it turned out to be an error on your part and nothing more serious. Yes, it's true, you can't judge someone by appearance. Some people have lots of money but don't give a hoot about their looks. I would love to look sharper but don't have the money! I remember requesting a strawberry/rhubarb pie one year as that's one my grandmother always made and hers was the only one I ever had. You brought one and I enjoyed it immensely. I've never had just rhubarb but I'll bet it would be tarter (not a bad thing) Might be worth trying.

WG - I guess we got your rain. I won't be outside today for sure. I am so sorry about the whole ID thing. I hope it's straightened out with the IRS. I can't imagine it happening, especially to you as you are so careful about any info you post! Just goes to show, none of us are safe!

Hello, ladies.....

I feel like I've been on a merry-go-round and can't find my way off! Went to the doctor's on Monday for a regular check up and my BP was too high. Then when she came in she was very unhappy about it. So we got to talking and I realized that for 5 days I'd forgotten to take the meds in the evening when I was supposed to! emoticon So she told me to get back on it IMMEDIATELY! So today when I took it, it was normal. So dodged a bullet there!

Worked today and it was very interesting. A lady came in and she looked like she might be homeless! But of course she isn't and she bought a big long arm quilting machine. Just goes to prove you can't judge a book by it's cover.

WG, glad that you are getting the IRS straightened out!

SS, our weather has been beautiful until yesterday and all the rain and today again cool and raining. I've had a nagging headache for 2 days. I think it is the weather. I don't get headaches often. Hope that you and Norm got relief.

PJ, hope that the VA calls soon and I need to see pics of these wedding projects!

Sharon, I know that one year you requested a rhubarb pie (I think it was straight rhubarb) and I can still get one if you want one. Just let me know.

Now I'm going to bed!! emoticon

Hi Seesters. It has been a long day. It is raining cats and dogs right bow. I'm enjoying it, but it is noisy.

SS, glad the weather is nicer and you are getting outside a bit.

PJ, hope the VA calls soon with a possible date. It is hard to wait. Love the wedding plans. There is always so much to do to get ready and not a ton of time.

LG, have fun at the games. Don't know how you do everything and you are retired! You make me exhausted just hearing about your days.

Spent an hour (almost all of it on hold) with the IRS to resolve my tax problems. Hopefully they are done now and I should get a refund in a couple of months. But I'm to NEVER call that number again. It was interesting.

I have now checked my ID protection that the company is paying for. Nothing there. Yet.

Have a great day.

It kind of looks pretty out - the sun is shining, at least! But it's windy and cold. So one walk around the block is all it took for me to decide to do some house walking today!

We met our friends for breakfast at the casino. None of us had much luck but Norm and I left after a couple hours with our money in our pockets. However, our friends were still there when we left so perhaps they will hit the jackpot! They said they would text us if they did. No text yet!

I went to bed early last night with a really bad headache. I feel better today but at the casino, Norm complained of a terrible headache. So when we got home he went to lay down. I hope for both of us, it's just allergy related.

I think I got results from Century Link finally. When I checked our account they had removed the total due and it says $.00 due. I would have been happy with $41.94 due but after all I went through, I'll take it!

I called the VA admission lady waiting for a call back just to see if she has a guess as to when he might be able to get in.

We had storms move through yesterday and last night no damage to us. But there was flooding in the area as well as hail and trees downed. It did cause several hours of no phones or internet.

LG your friendís son is in my prayers.

My days right now are filled with the fitness center and working on wedding projects. Take care.

I appreciate the thoughts about the family drama.

The serger lesson sounds like fun. I would like that.

I only had a couple of times of a couple of hours of sleep last night. First, was the anticipation of the storms/possible tornadoes, and then after the rain did begin, wondering about family members in the more stormy areas. I still haven't heard from my DS and DB this morning about such.

LG, prayers as you asked.

Have a good day, friends!

It was a busy kind of day. I had my serger lesson this morning. I forgot just how many things can be done with my machine. The quilt shop now carries Kaffe Fassett fabric if you ladies are looking for a certain print, emoticon

Mom's quarterly meeting was today. Nothing new to report which is good. The nursing home just broke ground to add 2 new buildings. One of them will be for assisted living and the other will be for the rehab. The nursing home itself will get updated too. It will be nice to see it completed in a couple of years.

I was pleasantly surprised today when my blinds that I ordered last week came in. I was expecting them in another week to 10 days.

Have a Great Tuesday!

LG - I pray for your friend's son. Because my father was an alcoholic, I understand exactly what she is going through. I pray the Lord gives her peace as well as her son.

I feel like I've been gone for a month!! Glad to see that everyone is doing great. I won't even attempt to answer all of you.

We had a very successful weekend. By Saturday we'd baked and sold almost 500 pies. Not sure what they did on Sunday as most of you know that Luke made his First Communion. It was a wonderful day and he was so cute. The coat that he wore was the coat that Jason wore for his First Communion 34 years ago. My 3 nephews also wore it. So it has a "history".

I need to ask a favor....please pray for a dear friend whose son has entered rehab. He is an alcoholic and was found drunk on Saturday morning and very incoherent. She is so upset and I pray that he gets himself straightened out. Thanks so much. I know that this group of gals is wonderful to pray and help out.

Need to get moving as Brooke has a softball game tonight. I need to get a few things done before we leave. I'll be back tomorrow.

Hi Seesters. I'm listening to the thunder and thinking I need to get outside. DIL just took her two youngest home. They came to visit while their mama went on a bike ride. She is struggling with depression and any time she wants to go outside and do something, I'm game to take the kids.

The girls and I made rubber band bracelets and watched a movie. It was fun.

Love the chatter about sewing.

SS, there are still things you can do. One is to get some iron on hem tape. The kind that sticks on both sides. It can then "hem" the shirt. I don't know if anything would make it work well for you, though.

Sheila, it had to be fun to see the greats. You are young, but not the youngest great grandmother I've met. It will be fun to be with the little ones and watch them grow up.

Tammy, the family drama will probably never go away. It is nice that Joe thinks of your kids as his children. It is a wonderful gift both to them and him. I think the family is just not thinking about his life but their relationship with him. I'd accept anything positive and hope for something more in time. At least their hearts have softened some.

I'm glad you got some sewing done. It is so much fun. I've got cutting in my plan for today.

Gotta run and see if I can get my taxes taken care of and prove that I'm me. Then it is to the identity protection services as after two weeks, over a month since the information was given away, I can see what the company will do for me.

Have a fun day everyone.

Here we are off to a brand new week! I hope we all make it count!

Sheila - I laughed right out loud when I read that I can shorten my tops with a regular sewing machine! Obviously, we have to get better acquainted. I have a brand new sewing machine my DH bought me and I can't figure out how to thread it so it's never been used. I'm not stupid, I just guess it's not my thing. At my age, I'm probably not going to change. As for you - how exciting to be going to meet not one but new new great grandchildren! I look forward to you posting pictures.

PJ - I am pleased with you being so involved with the upcoming wedding. It's a fun and happy time for the whole family. Hayden's (GS) has set his wedding for Dec. 2nd so we have a little time before all the activities begin. I loved the picture of your dad with his birthday cake. He looks much younger than 92. Tony seems to be doing well with his prosthetic leg. He's just not letting it slow him down.

WG - I hope you enjoy a couple days off, you deserve them. It is nice to hear your DS is doing better. It's going to be long and slow with many set backs but he will survive and so will the kids. I really hope at this time, there is no chance of them getting back together! I don't mean to be mean but I think he deserves a better life.

Tammy - families are thorns in our sides at times. I understand the hurt over Joe's family not including your family but I guess you need to enjoy the fact that they included you! Norm's SIL was taken in for a perforated stomach surgery and was transferred to the cardiac floor with heart issues. We found out about it on Facebook. We called and his brother said she's not ready for visitors. I understand but if it weren't for Facebook, we wouldn't even know. Sad world, isn't it?

Weezie2 - I'm glad Kami is back to her normal self now. Just a 24 hr bug sounds like. Your walk around the lake sounds wonderful. Lots to see and entertain you as you walk. I've been walking 1,000 steps every hour on the hour for the new Hourly Activity Goal on FitBit. It helps me reach my daily 10,000 steps easier.

We made a run to the PO and UPS returning all our DirecTV and CenturyLink boxes. We are now done with DirecTV but still arguing with CenturyLink over the termination chrgs.

Kami was feeling like her self yesterday. I put her bike in the back of my car so she could ride her bike around the lake while Reggie and I walked it. She did really well . Of course we had to stop and play on the swings and slides. It was a beautiful day to be out and enjoy the weather. Reggie even appreciated the extra loving he was getting from the other kids in the park. I was happy the kids asked if it was okay first. Reggie is a great dog but not all dogs want strangers touching them.

It's already 60 here so I'll be spending some time in my gardens and trimming my grass. I hope to be sewing later tonight to get those totes done.

Have a Great Monday!

Hi, Seesters!

It's late for me but I couldn't sleep so got up to take some Benadryl for an allergy related ear problem and that will likely solve the sleep problem anyway.

The shower was really nice; there were 12 of us there - Haley [momma to be], her mom, her aunt, her cousin, her SIL, her cousins' wife/SO, her sister, her niece, her MIL, her grandMIL, and me! The room was really crowded and being in the group was nice but it was hard to hear with my hearing problem. I think I did "okay", though. My quiche was great.

Yes, I thought the family picture was very nice. The SD that lives here in town posted that last night. The other SD shared it on FB this evening, along with a note that it was the first picture EVER [her caps] of her dad with his family with kids, grandkids, and everyone. I may or may not tell Joe about that - she likely meant it in a good way, but Joe would reply something about my two kids/spouse/SO not being invited. He actually had an issue going over for the family dinner for that very reason. I just told him that even if they had, that they both likely had to work. Jenny did; Jeremy had been but actually I found out later it was a first weekend off in a long time. So there's the story behind the story. I realize I am fortunate that Joe would be concerned about the two he helped me to raise as if they were his own, and while it makes me sad in a way, I can be sad all day about it and it won't help anything. I enjoyed the "littles" and I visited a bit so that was nice.

I did finally get to the quilt this afternoon, though. It may actually be done by the time the baby is here - late May.

Okay...a yawn just happened. Sleep may be on the way.

Hello ladies, it will be a busy week for me, as I,m getting ready for a trip to Cambridge, Ontario
to meet 2 new step great grandchildren! A boy was born almost 2 months ago to the oldest granddaughter, and a girl to our other step granddaughter a few weeks ago, who is a sister to her daughter born last year. We are so fortunate to have 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren at our age, 53! And I only have 1 daughter, and my husband 1 stepdaughter from his deceased wife. I,m making flannel burp cloths this week, and a princess castle diaper cake complete with 2 tiaras! ( can,t forget big sister!) I have a serger that I can,t thread yet, lol! Sharon, you can hem your t-shirts with a regular sewing machine. Lightly press up a 1/4 in, them press another 1/4 in and press. Sew with a slightly longer stitch length( 3.5) and feed it through without stretching the fabric. I,ve done this many times. Sounds like the wedding crafts will eventually get finished, lol! Have a great week everyone!

Hi Seesters. Home from work and off a couple of days. I love working but enjoy being home more.

PJ, the crafting day sounds productive. Glad you got to see the houses, especially Tony's as it seems like it has been harder to visit with him lately. Your dad's birthday sounds good. The VA eval done is a good thing. Hopefully there will be an opening soon. It is sad also, because most of the time an opening comes because another veteran is no longer with us.

Weezie, I'm glad things are getting ready for Sister Camp. I do feel sad as the sewing seems like such a fun thing, but I do understand how hard it can be. You've done the angel dolls and some other things. It will be fun to see what you come up with next.

Weezie2, love the serger. I looked it up. I have a very simple one that was very inexpensive. I do have to watch You Tube to thread it, but not that often. Most of the work I do is on the back so not a problem. I'm glad you took Kami back. She needs her mom when she needed to. Hope the walk was fun.

SS, loved the pictures of Nala's birthday party. It looks like everyone had fun. She is such a ham, I'm sure she had the most fun.

Tammy, it looked like a great group at the shower. Hope the dinner tonight worked out. Sometimes when hearts start to soften, it becomes easier to let things go. I'm glad you have your "good behavior" on.

I'm enjoying all the Fitbit chatter. It is fun to hear how you all are doing.

We are doing a bit better here. DS actually prepared a meal with a meat and vegetable! Quite an accomplishment for him.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi gals

We got dads evaluation done for the VA home. He is qualified (I had no doubt about that) now we wait for an opening. I will call this week and talk to them to see if they have a guess as to when that might be.

We did an early 92 birthday celebration for him today. The kids and I ate dinner with him at his place and they served him a single piece birthday cake with a candle and sang to him. He was smiling from ear to ear of course he may not remember it tomorrow. I got there early and had him change clothes. Also got to go by and see Tony and Evas new house they should be able to move in June. Its going to be so nice for them on one level and handicap accessible shower etc.

We had a wedding work day yesterday not sure we got much crafting done but it was fun anyway. They came to our house as this is where I have all the crafting items and supplies. And of course more items were added to my crafting list. But I am having a ball making and planning.

Sharon that is an adorable picture of Nala with her birthday cake.

TB good to hear from you. Keep us updated on Mr. TB

It seems we are all busy these days and I donít see any of us resting in the near future even if it is only doing fun things. Lets enjoy each day.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

I envy you girls then that have a serger and actually know how to use it! I just recently mentioned to Norm that I have several T-shirt type tops that are way too long since I am so short. I would love to be able to shorten them about 3 inches and make them look normal.

Sharon,,,a serger is a sewing machine that finishes seams like on a t-shirt. It sews, overcasts the edges and cuts off the extra all at the same time. I was having problems with my original one which I bought when my kids were still in grade school. The one I bought is a Juki MO-1000. It's a 4 thread, air threaded machine. It is so nice not having to think about the order in which to thread it and using tweezers to thread the loopers. Since I bought it at a nearby quilt shop I have lifetime lessons on it. My first one is Tuesday morning. This model even has a tension adjustment for the pressure foot for different weight fabrics. I'm so happy I splurged on this machine.

I need to scoot, Kami is feeling better so we are having a playdate today. She should be here in a half hour.

Have a Great Sunday!

Morning!
I'm loving the change in weather! I like being able to take Nala for a walk in the morning. It gets both of our blood pumping!

Not much on our agenda today. Norm is going to grill a beer butt chicken and I'm making green beans and cole slaw to go with it. Yummy!

I did eat some of Nala's birthday cake and my weight was still down a little this morning so no more negative self talk! Life happens and so you work with it!

Weezie - you always have so much going on, you make me feel lazy! I'm excited for you to go to Sister Camp! It sounds like so much fun and we love hearing about it each year. I can't imagine you not sewing when you get together but the only think constant in life is change. Perhaps you'll figure something out you all can enjoy!

Tammy - I enjoyed the pictures posted on FB yesterday. The baby shower was a nice surprise for the Mother to Be. It looked like fun. The family gathering also looked like everyone was getting along. I pray they were for Joe's sake! I laugh as you all are talking about sergers as I don't even know what that is, lol.

Weezie2 - I think taking Kami home was the right thing to do. If she was sick, her own bed and mommy was the best thing for her. She will be back to your place again soon. It was indeed beautiful yesterday (and so far today) so I hope you got your walk in with Reggie.

Good morning to you all!

Well, have had a busy weekend thus far and before I get to the chores at hand today.

TB, love the photo you shared. I had to chuckle. Glad to hear Mr. TB is doing well but keep us posted on the neurological piece. Sorta scary for sure. I know having found I have white matter lesions and all. Still suffer from headaches but have figured out a combo that helps me keep functioning.

Weezie, I am so excited to hear about your new serger. I had an old one I never could get to work right (even after servicing) that I had loaned to a cousin years ago so when my sister upgrated, she gave me her old one which works lovely but, I don't know how to use it well so in my head when the day comes and I splurge on a new one, I want to take classes to learn to use it completely. Keep talking about doing classes but haven't. One more thing on that 'hope to learn when retired' list. LOL Please share the bags you are making as well. What fun!! Sorry about Kami as well. Nothing worse than when the little ones don't feel good.

SS, loved the birthday celebration for Nala. What a spoiled little puppy. How lucky she is and I'm glad it all worked out as i know you were hesitant to get another dog after Bailey. She is adoreable.

LG, pies, pies and more pies. I'm sure you're over it by the time this over but what a great fundraiser you ladies put on and sounds like a lot of fun on top of it all. Congrats on Luke's first communion today as I'm sure that too will be fun. Hopefully he behaves himself and doesn't do any 'too' cute to make g'ma laugh.

So sister camp is in just a few weeks. I'm working on getting things together to take so we'll have plenty to do. Not like that is a problem. We always do different things as well so laughter IS on tap. Always fun to look forward to and then it is over in a blink. Next year we plan to try something different as this is the 3rd year we'll be in GA at the same B&B. It works well but time to do something different. Sadly, it might not include sewing so we'll see. We're all getting old and traveling alone not fun. Have aging/ill BIL's on top of it so that makes it interesting too. I just pray we can keep it going.

Hello to everyone and I need to scoot. Do hope you have a wonderful day and week ahead!

Hi, Seesters!

Weezie2, what type of serger did you get? I have idly considered getting one, but I can't even force myself to get in to the sewing room on a regular basis, so probably couldn't justify it right now. Perhaps some day. So sorry about Kami being ill. Those tote bags sound like a great idea for a gift....hmmmmm....but that would mean I would be going into the sewing room...LOL

I spent a nice couple of hours in a tea room in the downtown Springfield, MO area. It was in a(n) historic part of town, and it is pretty artsy - which is neat - the team room had lots of upcycled decorations/light fixtures/etc and the food was divine. It was a surprise baby shower for my stepgranddaughter - her SIL planned it and different family members executed the secret plan. LOL She was indeed surprised. I had a really good time visiting with the sGD's grandmother-in-law [how's that for describing someone? LOL]. We have visited a few times and we have quite a bit in common. There is going to be a cookout this evening with all DH's grandkids there/their families/etc, so that will be nice, or it SHOULD be nice. I always hold my breath, but be as pleasant as I possibly know how and the rest is just going to have to be what it will be.

While I was there, I went briefly into a quilt shop that I didn't know was in the area. I think it is mostly a storefront longarm business, as there wasn't the huge amount of fabric and notions that I am used to seeing. Still....I enjoyed it, and will be back in June/July
to help our own Weezie out...the license plates, y'all, and I will be glad to pick some up for LG and Weezie2, if you decide you want the ones from this store as well....

SS, those leaderboards are pretty motivating for me as well, and it has been hard for me to scale back when I need to for the autoimmune disorder...grrr...but I noticed that I had 70K+ last week, so at least I had one more "normal" week. It kind of surprised me just how competitive I was, but now I just have to be competitive with myself. emoticon

PJ, how are the wedding crafts going? I would love to see pictures when you have some...

Kami and I should have had a sleepover last night. I had to bring her home at 9:00. She wasn't feeling well and she wanted her mommy. I can't blame her. What 5 year old doesn't. I guess she had a rough night so hopefully it's just a 24 hour bug and she'll be back to feeling herself soon.

I was a bad Weezie. I have a new serger. I have wanted one for quite a few years and I finally broke down and bought one. It makes sewing certain things much easier but it certainly can't be used for everything.

My brother asked me if I would make 6 tote bags. I guess my SIL gets together with her college friends every so often and wanted to give them something nice filled with goodies. I have to just finish turning the handles and i can finish assembling them. Woo Hoo 1 more thing off my to do list.

Temps are going to be in the mid 50's this afternoon so I plan on walking Reggie around the lake before church.

Have a Great Saturday!

Soooo...how's everyone's day going so far?

It was so nice to wake up with the sun shining this morning. It's been a few days and the constant sunshine is what I miss the most about leaving AZ.

I took Nala for a nice long walk this morning and when I checked in to the FB Dashboard I had went up several places on the Leaderboard. Of course, I see LG went to the gym first thing this morning. That amount of steps is insane to me! Great job! LG & Weezie are usually in the 1st & 2nd Places on my Leaderboard. TC's brother, Mike from the RV team rounds out my top 3 places. So I consider the rest my competition! So if I can get to 4th place, I consider myself on top!

Today is my precious Nala's 1st birthday. We are celebrating like we have NEVER celebrated for a dog before! My family said they would watch Facebook for her picture so I had to.

Lily: I hear what you're saying. I good friend of mine recently opened a quilt/fabric shop; when I asked her how it felt to be working again, her response was something like ... "working? I set my own hours and spend my days talking to people who love doing the things I do; that's not working - it's playing!

Sharon: Cardiologically, Mr. TB is still his doctor's 'pet patient'. He has exceeded expectations in all areas. He is undergoing some neurological investigations at the moment, though. The jury remains out on those.

Well, I haven't done any gardening or yard work but I am very stiff and sore nonetheless ... groan ... and I rode with stirrups.

Morning Seesters!

So far it's been a productive morning - cleaning house and doing laundry. I need to slip out this afternoon for more groceries. It is overcast and heavy fog yet but they tell us it's supposed to burn off late this afternoon with a beautiful weekend moving in.

Tammy - I can relate to your soreness! The top of my foot began hurting last night and it throbbed most of the night. Didn't sleep well but I have no idea what caused the pain! It seems to be just fine so far today.

Sheila - good luck eating at the potluck. To be honest, now that eating healthy is so in the media, I find the potlucks have more healthy dishes. Even a low carb eater like me can usually find sufficient food. I'm not a gardener or sewer but I love seeing pictures of what you girls are up to so be sure and post a picture of your new covers for the lawn chairs.

Hi, Seesters...

I am very sore this morning - the result of gardening and lawn work yesterday. Today should be "easier" in that respect.

Have a good day!

Hello everyone, I,ve been very busy raking our large lawns and cleaning up outside. I actually shovelled the last of the snow off of our grass to rake, lol! I hope you all are well and happy. I see that gardening and sewing are two common things a lot of us share. I will still have to wait 6 weeks to garden, but I plan to sew new covers for our lawn chairs soon. I have a potluck to attend for my craft group tomorrow, I,m making pesto chicken and pasta. I am assured that their will be a few salads too. I better get a good walk in tomorrow!

I can do this! I'm Sheila from Petawawa, Ontario, Canada.

Good Evening.
Not much time on the computer today. Community Coffee this morning. Then our friends came over and we went out for lunch. Then we went to another nursery for a couple more plants.

This evening I was busy trying to get my steps in after sitting around most of the day. Now that I made my goal, I'm headed for bed. I'll check back in tomorrow.

Tammy, you are what Thomas calls "a short timer" with only 6 more classes. I'm sure that you will be glad for the summer to be here.

Weezie2, you amaze me with all that you do by yourself. I'd never install a light fixture! I want new lights in my kitchen. We've talked with an electrician because we will have to do "major" work to remove what I have in there.

Sharon, I've always known that you are one smart woman! But some times we do amaze ourselves. I've only been working at Sharynn's a short time but I've learned her check out system and computer system quickly. And it's fun!

TB, I'm now a working woman! At this time I'm working 1 day per week but Sharynn is building a larger shop and I will probably be working 2 or more per week when we get moved. It really isn't work as I'm truly enjoying it. Sharynn and the other gal I work with are just so wonderful to work with. What I'm doing is computer work, emails, weekly newsletter, and of course helping customers.

Hi, Seesters!

I will be on campus to interact with students 6 more times this semester...3 weeks from today, I will give the last two finals and hopefully will be grading soon thereafter. emoticon for the end of the semester, emoticon for the grading...

I have one more class to teach today, and fortunately, it has finally begun to rain. I will not mind to get a bit wet walking to the far reaches of the parking lot if it means it is finally raining. I planted some more veggies, and Joe planted some bulbs and a pink dogwood, so we needed some rain for those things. We actually each had a small lettuce salad two evenings ago, with lettuce from the garden. It will be a long time before we have something other than lettuce, though.

I need, need, need to get to sewing on the baby quilt that needs to be done by late May. I am actually going to a surprise baby shower on Saturday for the same family...I will get a gift card for it, I guess, and then get the quilt done. I actually would like to have it STARTED by Saturday. LOL

Have a good day!

Woo Hoo! I installed my new light this morning and I'm loving how much brighter my sewing room is. I have finished a few little projects. I need to get quite a few of them finished before Shipsee or Lolly's won't be happy with my lack of material shopping emoticon

I think Reggie and I will be going for a walk soon. We expecting showers later this afternoon. Then I'll be off to visit mom so I can attend a program at church tonight.

Have a Great Thursday!

Morning!

I'm more computer savvy than I give myself credit for. I got everything figured out. I even downloaded Windows 10 on my desk top. So both my computers feel the same to me now.

This afternoon we are going to PU our DIL and make a trip to Countryside Nursery to get some flowers. Looking forward to walking around. At least the nursery is covered as we have rain moving in.

Weezie - I don't like the mess when renovating but I sure like the end product. Be sure and post pictures of your sewing room.

TB - so glad to see your post! I know how much your enjoy Red so I'm happy spring and summer is coming to you so you can get out and ride! How is Bob doing now?

My sewing room is coming along nicely. I stopped at Lowes and picked up a new ceiling light and ordered my blinds. They should be delivered in about 3 weeks. The new track light will make my room so much brighter than the florescent fixture that's in there now. I can't wait to get it finished and move on to other projects.

Last Saturday I replanted my large flower pots in front of the house. In a few weeks Kelly and I will be heading to our local nurseries for our veggies. I am looking forward to getting my hands dirty on a regular basis again

Greetings from the MIA TB ...

Everybody seems to be doing well.

Lily: Is your job at Sharon's regular or were you just helping her out? I think I missed something. BTW - your granddaughter is truly striking; she's going to look just like that (with a few wisdom highlights in her hair) when she's 65!

WG: I hope the DIL drama ends soon. It sounds like your DS is finally 'getting her number' and that's a very good sign.

Sharon and PJ: Welcome back to spring in the northern latitudes.

SEK: Where did that cute little red headed boy go? The Joshua in your pics is a young man - handsome but not "cute" any longer. He's too grown up.

Weezie1: It sounds like you're enjoying your Ava time as much as always. WTG!

Tammy: Are you counting the days until semester's end? I know I would be.

I haven't seen Becky around recently. Has anybody heard from her?

Weezie2: WTG on the weight loss. You're doing great!

Mrs. Northwoods: Welcome! This is a wonderful group of ladies and I'm sure you'll have a great time. I live in Eastern Ontario as well ... we're almost neighbours. emoticon

Hello to anybody I've missed.

I've been busy with my family, quilting, horse, and - way, way down on my list of priorities emoticon my housework.

Thanks everyone, for the lovely comments on Red. He can be incredibly annoying sometimes but I wouldn't trade him for anything ... come to think of it - just like my kids. emoticon This is what spring-time in horsie land looks like ...

Hi Seesters. I'm just about to leave and pick up The Gunslinger from preschool. It is peaceful for a minute. Lots of noise and laughter this morning so a bit of peace is nice.

PJ, sounds like you have things well in hand. A crafting day will be a good thing for all of you. It would be fun if we all could come and help you as well. Sometimes this long distance thing leaves something to be desired.

SS, hope the computer and remote things work out soon. How frustrating!. Glad you had a fun outing with the girls. The chips and salsa might have been worth it.

Gotta run. Enterprise is awake and I need to pick up the Gunslinger. Have a nice day.

Hi Seesters
PJ here. I have been painting some gifts as well as working on wedding projects. We are having a wedding project making day Saturday so will gather as many supplies etc as I can find before then. Should be fun.

DS and I went to the reception location on Sunday and looked it over it will work out fine just need to get the decorations done. TT was sick so she didn't get to go with us. But it is her nieces shop/barn so she does know what it looks like.

Been going to the fitness center all the days I can working around appointments. Now if I could just get enthused about eating like I should. Not taking the time to plan or eat good lunches find myself just snacking on crackers. No sweets though.

Weez I hope they find a good new superintendent and it sounds like you are getting your projects ready for sister camp. Sounds like you and Ava had a good time and she took good care of Grandpa. So sweet.

SS sure hope you can get out of paying that high Century link bill.

LG you can keep that bat. It looks huge. I don't blame Rachel one bit for hiding out away
from it.

WG glad you got to avoid that drama at work you have enough at home.

To my other seesters. emoticon

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Sharon, it's very warm here! We have 86 degrees!! I'm loving it. Hope that you get this internet mess straightened out.

WG, oh, what a mess. Just glad that you weren't there. I'm continuing the prayers for you and DS. Yes, wish him a Happy Birthday from all of us.

Tammy, I haven't bought the new Marie Bostwick book so I need to get out and get it!!

Weezie, you are so good with Ava. One day she will be there for you. Glad that Gary is doing better.

We went to Brooke's softball game last night. They played their cross town rival and got beat. But she caught 2 fly balls and made a home run so not too bad and they only got beat by 3 runs. She has a game tonight but it is too far away for us to drive and get home at a decent hour. Plus Thomas really doesn't like driving at night.

Brrr....a new day and very different weather! I did walk Nala this morning but it is cold and windy. I will probably do some in house walking today!

I was on hold over 1/2 hr with Century Link yesterday and then got cut off. Then I went to the online Chat and the person I chatted with said they understood my dilemma and needed to get the supervisor to approve them adjusting my bill. They took my email address and said they would email me soon with an adjusted bill. I haven't heard anything yet but I did print out my entire conversation as if that will help!

We have been having problems with our Charter Spectrum TV. The box keeps freezing up on us. So a tech came yesterday and switched out the box. So far, so good!

WG - I'm glad you were able to avoid all the family dynamics at work. Please tell your DS Happy Birthday and also let him know we are all on his side and praying for him.

Tammy - I do love the FitBit Challenges! The one that I was in with you, I think we both did well. Ended up in the middle of the group. But the Challenge with my TX friends, I came out in 1st Place. What a difference with challenges. Of course, I will never beat Weezie of LG but that's OK. I never thought I would be getting 10,000 steps in daily either so who knows!

Weezie - sounds like you could use a hug emoticon Life can sometimes really get us down. I am also struggling with close ones dying of cancer (hopefully they can beat it) and it's such a helpless feeling. Good luck with the decision made for the Supt. May it make your life easier at work!

Last night I met my sister and two nieces and my DD for dinner. Unfortunately, we met at a Mexican restaurant and yes, I had a Strawberry Daiquiri and I ate some chips and salsa. And Yes, my weight is up some this morning. But darn it, I enjoyed the evening and today I'm right back on track.
