I've got a busy day ahead of me so I won't stay long.

I brought Kami to the pumpkin farm yesterday. She had more fun running around and feeding the little goats from her hands.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Hi, Seesters!

WG, glad you are having a good day and slept better. Sleep is good, isn't it? emoticon I did the initial garden-tilling on Sunday afternoon, and felt the effect on Monday - not bad, just obviously some unused-to-such-activity muscles. It will not keep me from using it again in the next few days. emoticon

SS, did you or Norm win big? Isn't it fun to enjoy the casino occasionally? It has been a very long time since DH and I have done that, though. We would be closest to KC to do that.

Weezie2, I do look at the MSQC emails every day looking at their Daily Deal, and I have even ordered from those! I like Jenny's little daily writings [or whoever writes them].

PJ, I think your breakfast is something one needs to do once in a while. I know it keeps me from feeling deprived, and I don't have to do it often. A lot of times when we are at Cracker Barrel and Joe orders the infamous "Big Momma's Breakfast" with the eggs, sausage, and then those huge pancakes [billions of calories emoticon ], I will often take a bite of the pancakes, and that is enough to satisfy me.

I went to a fabric store yesterday - I know that is a big surprise! emoticon

Hello to everyone. Off to get a good start on the day before work.

Hi Seesters. Having a fun day. Fabio is finally asleep and the kids are gone. It was nice to see the babies and to get to play with them.

I did sleep better last night. I only watched part of one movie but that is much better than the past few nights.

SS, have fun at the casino. I know you and Norm enjoy being with others, but you also enjoy each other. And the dog with be clean and nice when you return. Fun times.

LG, I know it is hard to have a "wing" out of commission but it is worth it to have improved function. My cousin had all her finger joints done a few years ago. But her arthritis was so bad all of her life.

PJ, breakfast sounds fun. I'm sure you had fun doing it.

Have a nice day and HI to Weezies, Tammy, TB, Judy, Jo, and everyone. I do hope you have a wonderful day.

Was a bad girl today went out for breakfast and had pancakes with lots of syrup. Need to track that and see how awful I really was. We made our yearly drive to Franks hunting place to check out the area. It has been flooded there and now that the water has receeded it is a muddy mess. We walked out in the woods to look around and about got eaten up with mosquitos so didnít walk far or very long.

We have AT&T for our cell phones but use Verizon for internet while traveling. It is kind of nice that way because there have places when one wouldn't work but the other will.

The ignition parts had to be ordered and they will call when they get the parts.

SS, not much better weather-wise here. The wind is blowing and it is only about 50. Already tired of this! I don't have a date as of yet but I see the doc next Tuesday and hope that I'll have a date then. It will definitely be after our quilt retreat. Enjoy your overnight at the casino!

PJ, I'm on AT&T. Last weekend when the kids were here, Jason, Rachel, & I got on the phone and called them about their "Friends & Family" plan...10 lines, 10GB of Data, etc. We got a deal and Jason got an Iphone 6 out of it! Now he didn't get it for free but did get a discount. My bill went from way over $100 to $80. I'm saving over $50!! I've never lost a call and my service is great. I understand that in areas it could be bad but I've never had that happen. When we went to Barbados, I added International Roaming and called mom 4-5 times and it was clear as a bell. I can't complain.

WG, the doc told me that I'd have 4-6 weeks of "down time" with the wrist. That is why it is after Thanksgiving. Jason/Stephanie and kids will be here for Thanksgiving and not Christmas. They will come for New Year's and I should be in pretty good shape by then. At least I hope so. Hope you are enjoying Fabio!!

Morning!
Another gloomy day here. I will be so glad to get out of this gray, overcast weather and head to the land of the sun - AZ!

This week is busy but fun. Today we head out for our overnight casino visit. This casino is about 2 1/2 hrs from home so it's not the one we normally go to. Our friends can't go due to health issues so we're on our own. I wanted to cancel but Norm said we have a kennel reserved for Bailey plus grooming so he said let's go anyway. So perhaps we'll win some gas money for our trip!

WG - sorry you have that cold crap. Please take care of yourself and don't let it hang on for weeks like I did.

PJ - I don't think anyone can visit a Verizon store without them getting into your checkbook! We stick with Verizon as they have so much better coverage out in the western states but they are definitely not cheap!

LG - you, my lady are always busy! But, if anyone can get their Christmas baking in and everything else before your surgery, you would be the one! Do you have a date for your surgery yet?

SEK - I don't think I could handle driving a bus, let alone deal with the teens! You have my respect. I hope your boss got an earful!

Evening Seesters. It has been a nice day but I'm tired. Way too many drugs and soda to keep the "tickle cough" away. I was pretty "medicine head" before I left work. It is what it is. Fortunately I don't have to go again until Friday.

Judy, it has to be awful being gone for 16 hours with a bunch of teens anyway. I'm sure you will figure out a way to make it not happen again.

Weezie, I'm glad antibiotics are working. It is nice to rest but it is more fun if you feel good.

LG, busy as usual. I always admire that you do the church laundry and press it as well. That is a lot of work. I'm sure you are blessed for your service. Glad you are spending time sewing and cutting out. That retreat is coming soon. I'm sure you will enjoy that time. Then you will have time to rest and heal from your surgery. I'm glad you are getting things fixed.

PJ, hope the ignition got fixed. It is a lot of errands. You won't leave until the trailer is fixed, will you? I hope it doesn't change your plans. Sounds like cookie making is in your future. You may find ways to get the "healthier" ones in there for your son. Then he can enjoy a few as well.

Tammy, glad step GS is on home soil. It is hard to have them gone. So many uncertainties. How is the garden tiller going?

I'm off to bed. Hoping to get some sleep tonight. Tomorrow is Fabio and maybe quilting or maybe Wednesday. Have a great night all.

Went to my two fitness classes today, stopped by the Chevy dealer about the recall on my ignition switch, then went to the Verizon store. Our Mifi quit working while on our trip so ended up getting a new one of course $20 more a month but it is 4G and 2 more gigs of data each month.

Frank took the trailer in to see about getting the body fixed and they are ordering parts. So we can have that all fixed before heading south in December.

SEK we have been mowing also. I hope itís the last time for this year. Seems like we are mowing really late in the season this year. Iím tired of it.

LG busy in a week or two. I laugh you are always busy but I do understand about baking ahead. DS and future DIL want to come over and bake cookies to take with them to Ohio at Thanksgiving. I had already thought about doing that anyway. He is meeting her family for the first time. Need to make a good first impression but I know he will anyway.

Have a nice afternoon It is so nice out I think we will grill chicken out for dinner

I have no doubts that Kami and I will always have a special relationship. Weezie would be proud! She had me introduce signing to Kami when she was a baby. Yesterday she asked me to put the DVDs on and was asking for my help to get her fingers right. She's a very smart child and I want to encourage that along. Kami has a great relationship with my mom too. She'll ask me to take her to see great G'ma.

Tammy...how far do you live from the Missouri Quilt Company? They have some great 1 day sales. It's an 8 hour drive from my house so I'll have to live vicariously through you ...lol

Have a great Monday!

Afternoon, everyone!

A very busy morning here. After chapel, I got the laundry and got home and got it started. Thomas and I ran a few errands and then I started some bread. It is about to go in the oven! I'm thinking of maybe veggie soup and fresh bread for supper. YUM!!

Didn't do much of anything yesterday except 4 loads of laundry. Spent most of the afternoon on the couch watching football. YEAH, COLTS!! Did watch part of the Broncos/49ers game. Payton is a great quarterback.

After the bread comes out of the oven, I plan to get upstairs to the sewing room. Hoping to get the last block on the Christmas throw sewn together.

Judy, sorry about the bus trip from hell.....you see...that is why I don't drive kids around!!

PJ, I applaud anyone who can visit terminally ill people. That is very hard. emoticon

Tammy, hate family confrontations. Really haven't experienced that many but did have a few with FIL. He was domineering. He wanted to rule everything and when he couldn't rule me, he bulked and made life miserable for us. I only told him one time to leave me alone.

WG, it is hard when family members refuse to "give" some when some one makes a gesture of asking for "forgiveness". You can't live a full life with hate in your heart. It weighs you down like concrete.

As for Thomas' hand, the swelling has gone down considerably. So I'm sure that it was a bite of some kind. But don't think it was a spider. He said that it never hurt or itched. Strange!

Weezie2, Kami will always remember her special times with Gramma. Luke still remembers the things we used to do. Every now and then he even asks about my mom. Amazing.

Weezie, hope that your day at work hasn't been too overwhelming. Remember to breath!!

Well, the bread is about done. I didn't sleep well last night and so while I laid there I made lists in my head about what I need to get done in November before this hand surgery. I will have to get all my baking (sweet rolls, cookies, breads, candy, etc) done and in the freezer or I'm sure it won't get done. So I'll be very busy beginning in about a week or two.

SS waited on me with no weight loss but no gain so that's a win.

It's been a crazy busy week and weekend. I worked a 16 hour day Saturday with a bus trip from hell. The boss will hear about it in a few minutes. Yesterday we spent out side mowing, cleaning the one water feature and re-laying some rock around it, some had shifted, so it's covered and ready for next year. I don't know if we'll have to mow again depends on the weather. So I'm pooped and would love to take the day off but I won't.

Y'all take care and have a magnificent Monday!

Good afternoon. The kids are coming in a few so this will be short. I'm glad you all are busy. Love hearing about your lives.

Tammy, the baggage the family carries won't go away unless they want it to and it doesn't seem like they do. I was angry at my step father for many years for things he had done and been. The last few years of his life were a great blessing to me as he changed. He never asked for forgiveness, he never acknowledged his part in my pain, but he clearly had a "change of heart" and even though it was greatly due to his dementia, it gave me the gift of being able to forgive him and move on. My sister, sadly, did not take advantage of this time and is still angry and bitter over things that happened. I hope your hubby's children will find ways to get past their feelings and find the man he has become.

I'm still working on that, BTW with my ex and it hasn't been nearly as easy.

PJ, I so appreciate your hospice work. Now that I've experienced it firsthand, it has made me look at things in a different light. Are you a volunteer "visitor?" I know they offered that to us and although we didn't need it, I think one came a few times. Not nearly as annoying as the harpist, but that one I couldn't have stopped.

I'm so glad the shawl is almost done. I thought you were doing one for your BIL's fiance as well. Saw some cute hedgehog mittens on pinterest. They were very cute and I thought of you. I don't have the talent yet to knit something like that. I'm pretty basic. When I get bored, I still do dishcloths although no one uses them any more. I sometimes use them as coasters for things on the counter.

Weezie2, I'm glad Kami gets to spend the day with you. It is nice that she is so close. I know that special bond is one that is magic and doesn't happen with every child or grand. You try and love them the same but spending time together gives you special memories. I can imagine both of you watching the game and cheering.

LG, spider? Maybe hiding inside his glove? Watch it and if it gets red or miserably painful, see a doctor. Otherwise, it will probably get better. It sounds like your sewing is coming along well. I hate it when I have to get a tiny bit more fabric.

SS, great on the weight loss! The team challenge must be helping everyone. I'm glad you are doing it. It would be fun to do something like this on this team. Who knows. Hope your casino visit is a fun one. Sorry about your friend. She may be able to travel but a few weeks later.

I've caught a cold from someone. I'd hate to think one of the grands but who knows. Felt scratchy yesterday morning but by evening was really dragging. Slept poorly a second night in a row and would love to nap today. Instead I've drugged up and have a roast in the crock pot with veggies. Still need to run the vacuum on the floor but it is nice outside and we may dine "al fresco" again today. Maybe even "poolside" since they filled the pool to see if it is working.

I'm glad it is nice out so the kids will all go on a walk and the dog with them. She likes those days. Now I do feel badly that I didn't finish the lawn last night but it is slowing down and didn't grow that much. The patio finally got cleaned off and the wood from the windstorm a couple of years ago is finally gone. We could dine on the patio.

Will visit tomorrow. Have a great day all.

Hi, Seesters!

DH and I had breakfast with the oldest SD and family [SIL who was in the wreck, daughter and her family] at the local Cracker Barrel. If you ever eat there, I do recommend the Broccoli N' Cheese Good Egg Bake. I have had it two or three times, and I immediately know I am going to have that if I find I am going to Cracker Barrel. 430 calories, 20 g carbs, 25 gr protein As for the individuals at that breakfast, and I have shared probably too many times the family drama, I feel it went well. It was mentioned that DH and I come up, and I had thought about this possibly happening many times over the past two years of drama, and I said "We need to set a date right now, and then when you get home, check what is going on with Tom's rehab, the younger kids, etc, and we will change it if we need to." I also specifically told my SD to let her dad know. At least for today, I am going to show these people how to behave. emoticon

I am now a step further on my gardening journey; I purchased a small garden cultivator yesterday, in very good shape, at a yard sale. I read the booklet, DH helped me start it, and I can see it being a great help in my garden journey. Fitness, outdoor air, hopefully some garden produce next year... emoticon

PJ, I would love to see a pic of the shawl when it is done.

Have a very good afternoon, friends. Hello to everyone!

Spent the morning doing a volunteer hospice assignment at a patients house. Now it is time to get back outside for more yard work while we have this nice weather.

WG hope you are feeling better.

Weez I have only a few more rows about 22 on this shawl I am making (For future DIL) as a wedding present. And I have some socks I am working on also. Havenít gotten back to the placemats yet but they look at me everytime I am in the SHE CAVE.

LG great way to pick up a few $$ selling those pins. I love my early morning quiet time also. But I have been sleeping in a bit later since our trip.

I hope all of you are having a relaxing enjoyable Sundayl

Happy Sunday...Yep the Packer game is on in less than an hour also. It's a rush to see what can be accomplished before it starts.

Chell wants to work on some beading so Kami will be watching the game with me, It's so much fun watching her raise her arms in the air and yell touchdown.

My sister gave me a recipe for granola bars so I think I'll make a batch today with Kami.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hello, sorry I didn't get here yesterday. It was a very busy day. Thomas cleaned up the garden and got bit by something on the hand. It has swollen and he said that it hurts. For now he is icing it. Not sure what got him (or if anything because he had gloves on).

I got to my sewing room for a while and cut out my 10" squares for the quilt that Weezie and I are going to make at quilt retreat. Ran out of material and still have 2 squares to cut. UGH! So tomorrow I'll go get some more to get that job done. So since I couldn't finish that I got my last block cut for the Christmas throw. Now today, I'll try to get it made but we have a Colts game to watch. So that might go on the back burner.

WG, hope you get to feeling better quickly.

SS, emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon with the weight loss! Sorry about your trip to the casino. But you and Norm will enjoy it none the less.

Now I've got to scoot.....need to get lunch fixed. Colts game comes on in an hour.

emoticon to everyone I missed.

Good Morning!
And it is a GOOD morning! I weighed in with a 4 lb loss for the first week of our Challenge. Tammy also had a good loss. PJ too! We're waiting with bated breath to see how SEK did. I hope well, as she's on my team!

Bad news on our casino run. The other couple has ongoing health issues and we found out yesterday that she is in so much pain from a bulge in her spine. She has to have surgery and soon as she is in so much pain. I feel so bad for her. This may affect their trip to AZ this winter. Plus, she's supposed to go on a cruise in a month which doesn't seem possible right now.

I think Norm and I will still go to the Overnight Casino trip as we get the room free and we have Bailey all signed up for the kennel and grooming while we're gone. It won't be as much fun but we'll still have a good time.

If we lived closer I would be happy to teach you. There are quite a few of us that knit or crochet. It would be so much fun to have our own knitting group. Have you tried your local library? Our's has instructional dvd's. U tube would have some too.

I'll be off running some errands soon and cleaning when I get home.

Have a Great Saturday!

Hi, Seesters!

Weezie2, you need to teach me to knit! I have tried to teach myself, and a friend/colleague has tried to teach me...emphasis on "tried". My mom told me not long ago she thought I would never learn to crochet, but I do think I am a pretty darn good crocheter, so I guess once I learn, I am okay! emoticon

We have to get all our leaves off the ground - front lawn in our neighborhood - we already share with our neighbors too much every time there is wind and there are leaves on the ground. We try to get to them every few days. We have an attachment for our riding mower that picks up most, and we also have a Weedeater product which "sucks" up those in areas the mower attachment doesn't get which mulches and bags them immediately. Since we share mostly with our neighbor across the street, we got "our" leaves, plus hers, yesterday. I have heard that about the grass being affected by leaves left on over the winter.

I did thankfully sleep past 1:30 a.m. last night, and am looking forward to meeting members of my Spark Springfield team today for a few hours which will include a walk, and attending the step-GGS's 2nd birthday party for a bit. There has already been a bit of drama about the family being in the area; when is there not? I am considering inserting a bit of "truth" into conversations today; perhaps the opportunity will arise, and perhaps it will not. If it doesn't, that is fine as well. I am not responsible for their bad behavior.

Weezie, glad you are feeling better after your week's rest.

Hello to everyone! Have a good Saturday!

I try to get the leaves off the ground. I find leaving them on the grass kills out what's underneath.

I find that as long as I bind off loosely when I knit I'm fine. If I bind off tightly it "shrinks" that last edge. I'm so proud of my niece with her knitting. She just learned how and her stitches, both knitted and purled have a nice even tension to them. She wants me to show her how to cable. I'm always happy to share a new craft with them.

Have a great weekend

Good evening....

Yes, I'm still alive and in one piece! We had a great day with the kids and they were all so good. We took them to Barnes and Noble and turned them loose! They each found a book and we bought them. Actually, we didn't buy much of anything else. Brooke and I went to the Land's End Store in Sears. I got a top and she found a purse that had been $50 and was on sale for $12! She used her own money and got it!! It is a darling purse. I got ideas for Christmas and in the next couple of weeks Thomas and I are going back up and pick up a few things.

On another note...my grandfather had a lot of pins that he was awarded for selling insurance. My aunt had them (not sure why she had them!) but she gave them to me. Had no meaning to me and with mom gone, Thomas and I decided to see if they were worth anything. We sold them this morning and got some big bucks for them!! It will come in handy!

Weezie, glad that we finally got connected! And glad that you are feeling better. After we got off the phone, I thought about the antibiotics upsetting your gut. I'm sure that is it. We are down to 5 weeks until the retreat!! WOO HOO!!

Tammy, I love having the early morning hours to myself. I know that people think I'm crazy but I can get lots done with no interruptions. Glad that you got some sewing done.

WG, I rather like taking all the kids it is fun. They behaved very well today. But they are aging too!

Judy, hope that your trip was an easy one.

Weezie, about the leaves.....we don't leave them on the ground. We compost them or turn them over to the city. We've been told that they will kill the grass and spread "disease". Not sure so you might want to Google it.

I'm tired and need to get ready for bed. Slept in the car and Brooke said that I snored!! emoticon I just laughed and told her that she did too!!

Hi All,

Well I'm beginning to feel better. I can't believe I took the entire week off 'sick'. I've never done that but the boss said and the doctor said so I did. I must be feeling better as I went out and looked at work email today and my head is getting back in the game. I didn't give it a thought for several so knew I was sick. That's not like me. I'm sure this week will be interesting and I learned the boss went home sick today. I do hope she doesn't get what I have been through although I don't know what hit me. I thought it was the flu but never got the vomit part which I'm thankful for. My gut still hurts but not sure if it is from the antibiotics I'm on thru Sunday or something still lingering. At least I'm able to be upright and today I started Xmas shopping online. Now for the boxes to start arriving. I'll be doing little regular shopping and won't miss the crowds.

Tammy, glad you're sewing and enjoying yourself. I would like to get to that this weekend as well. Gotta get project for retreat ready so LG and I can get er done. Will be fun to see how different they turn out since we're making the same quilt but different focus fabrics. Will be fun!

Judy, hope your trip with the football team went well.

WG, sounds like fun with the grands and I agree - one on one is the way to go.

Weezie, how did Kelly's last ultrasound visit go. I remember you indicated you were going and I haven't gone back a week to see catch up on the thread. Sorry.

SS, are you packing and getting ready to leave? I hope you get out before the weather gets too bad. Has been pretty dreary and rain is back. The leaves are starting to come down.

DH and I go round and round as I'm of the mind that the leaves should be raked and be gone before the snow comes. He thinks we're doing more harm than good to the soil but doing so. He thinks we should let em be and in the spring rake/mulch what's left and this is good for the ground. Thoughts ladies?

PJ, have you had time in your 'she' cave? Are you knitting? I have gotten my first scarf long enough. Now to figure out how to bind off. I have a Craftsy class to review and see if I can figure out. My only thing is it says I should use a bigger needle. Well I already used '17' and don't know if there are any bigger. Might you?

Okay, I need to get to some other things I think. Do hope you all had a great day and wish you a wonderful weekend.

Hi, Seesters!

I guess I enjoyed the sewing so much yesterday that I wanted to wake up early - way early - and do some more! So I did... I also have done yard work all day and am now the proud owner of a small cultivator and have had some done on the air conditioner motor on my car. So I think I have had a very busy day.

So perhaps I can sleep tonight! emoticon

No school today but been busy with other stuff and now I have to get the football team and take them to a game. I take the band to Manhattan tomorrow which is all day from early, early, till late, so I don't plan on being here to check in.

HI Seesters. Watching Biggest Loser. I enjoy it and there is a "local athlete" on this year. He is from DIL's town. Doing well also.

The chips were a hit. I'm glad I've found something that I can do that the others can enjoy. My kids like them so it works in many ways.

It sounds like everyone is having a "chill" day which is good. There has been some "puny" feeling stuff going around.

I love shopping with the grands but prefer one at a time. I've still got to take the Dragon out for a last burger before the snow flies.

I'm "on call" tomorrow and expect that I'll be working. It is overtime pay but I'll not be paid double for the 8 hours that will be call back and overtime. Shucks.

Have a great day. I'll try to catch up tomorrow night.

Evening, everyone.....

Been a long day with only 2 of the kids....Luke and Brooke. Carmen went to a friends house for the day. Tomorrow we are taking them shopping. I know....I'm nuts! emoticon What can I say??

I just need to get a few things and it will get them out of the house where they have been confined for most of the week due to the horrible weather we've had. It rained here again today until about 3p.m. UGH!!

I too have read your posts but don't have the time or the brain power tonight to answer them!
Oh, I did go up to my sewing room and Luke came in asked me why my sewing machine was so big. So I showed him what it would do and we sewed (embroidered) a bike! He picked it out of my designs and he picked out the thread colors. It turned out very pretty. He was so proud of it. He sat on my lap and said that he was having fun watching the machine work!!

Now I need to get to bed..... emoticon

Hello everyone:

I'm flying by (as usual) to say emoticon

I still have no word on whether or not the car will be ready when I head to Sis's on the 22nd. I suspect it won't be, but perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm so looking forward to my trip to the (Quarter Horse) Congress in Columbus. It will be a long drive but my BIL will be doing most of it. We plan to leave in the wee hours of the 24th so we cross the border before the traffic pile-up starts *yawn*

Hello to everyone! I've read the posts but, as usual, I'm scrambling for time.

Hi, Seesters!

I began the day with some sewing after breakfast, and then went to the garden/leaf mulch job, and now you can see what I am doing. I hear the She Cave whispering my name again, though!

I happen to be working on a quilt - an easy one - for DB, using squares cut from the jeans that were cut from him when the paramedics were administering CPR, etc. I had some outdoor prints in a charm pack that I bought from Missouri Star Quilt Company awhile back that I am using for it as well. I attended a meeting with the Care Center team, my mom, and the two ladies that are DB's medical POAs on Tuesday. He has made great physical and ST memory progress, and will be released in a couple of weeks. It is just amazing to me how much better his movement is. He has progressed from a walker to a cane. I do not kid myself that his heart is not at all healthy, nor that he will make healthier choices, but it does appear that he will be able to live at home and may qualify for some services, and as that is what he wants, that is what I want for him.

The pannini does sound delicious, WG. Yum, yum! I am preparing a Cheeseburger Pie paleo recipe for our dinner. I'm not considering going paleo; I just thought it sounded good. LOL!

PJ, your trail walk sounds fantastic. I always look forward to my weekend walks which I can do at the middle school track right by the house. The surface is a nice change from the streets/sidewalks. I would likely like the trail walk as well.

Weezie2, how fun! It makes me smile to think about it.

Happy Thursday!

We've got another rainy day here too.

I ordered Kelly"s crib this morning. It should be delivered to her house the end of next week. Woo Hoo!!! We're getting closer and this G'ma can't wait. I went to Bath and Body works yesterday and picked up the game prizes for the shower.

We have 6 more craft fairs this year so you know what I'll be doing later.

Have a Great Day!

Evening all. Worked today and it was a good day. Had an olive pannini for lunch. It was amazing. Almost repeated it tonight on a bed of lettuce.

Making potato chips in the microwave. it isn't hard and is much healthier than the chips I was buying a couple of years ago. A little time consuming but I'm making a batch for my friends who like the veggie chips.

PJ, loved the photo of Tony. He is doing exactly what he should--live life fully. He'll do fine. I'm glad you are getting your dad's meds taken care of.

SS, enjoy your last dinners out. I'm sure your kids will stay in touch so it will be good. Talking is important and you do a lot of that.

Tammy, it's funny how people think one thing when it is totally another. It isn't always easy to read people. Glad the BP meds are working better.

Weezie2, hope the weather is better.

LG, it has to be nice to rest and recover a little. Lunch sounds like a lot of fun.

Got to go to bed. Have a nice day. Hi to everyone.

I got a haircut yesterday it had been way to long since my last cut. I really do like my new hair dresser. She is easy to talk to, give a good haircut and half the price as my old one. A WIN WIN all the way around.

I got my shingles vaccination and flu shot yesterday so now have 2 sore arms but not too bad. I dropped off some paperwork to the hospice volunteer office and have a couple of assignments coming up in the next 2 weeks. They havenít had anything for me in a few months so this is good to do something again.

I think I have a lady to do dadís meds while we are gone just need to meet her in person and introduce her to dad and make sure we are all comfortable with each other. I will arrange that meeting probably next week.

It was dry enough that I got out in the yard and cut back some perennials and pulled up some annuals. Now it is time to go and watch the KC Royals play baseball.

Tammy I love that Tony is ready and willing to tackle any and all things he wants to do. And so far he has accomplished them all. He is anxious to go deer hunting now that he has this better prosthesis that makes movements more natural.

Sharon I feel the same way you do about the kids. We know and so do they that one of these days we wonít be able to travel like we do now. So we are going to do it while we can and get together with them when we are home

Good Morning!

I don't worry too much about our relationship with the kids as I know they really love us. We have raised them to be independent so I can't complain. Right now their life revolves around their kids and that's the way it should be. We have talked about us leaving for the winters and they know it is only a few short years and then our health will prevent us from enjoying our treks.
I guess I just waited too long to invite them over that last day and now they all have plans. Oh well, I'll make the BBQ's and see if anyone shows up to say goodbye.

This evening we are going out to dinner with the four couples we are closest to in our community as our last get together. It will be fun!

So far I've been able to be really good on my eating this week but I'm eating out tonight and tomorrow night is our Community PotLuck which also will be a test to my willpower! Wish me luck and strength for the next couple of days.

Good morning, ladies!

Well, we had a wonderful lunch yesterday. Met my older sister and we drove to Nashville together. Met my youngest sister (her birthday) and we ate lunch at a great little place. We went shopping after we ate and none of us bought anything big. I bought Thomas some candy. That was it! We talked about when we used to take mom there for lunch. Lots of great memories and the rain stopped and the sun came out! It turned out to be a very pleasant day.

But today the rain is back and it is pretty chilly. Supposed to go to St. Vincent de Paul to work but I have church laundry to iron so I'm going to get that done.

SS, your chicken noodle soup sounds so good! I think I'll have some of my veggie soup for lunch.

Tammy, I think it is cold, rainy, and dreary all over this part of the country!! Your soups also sound wonderful! I think I'll make some potato soup over the weekend.

Got to get to the grocery store. We have the kids again tomorrow and Friday. Tomorrow we have a school tour at the museum so the kids will have to go down there with us.

Now I need to get busy. Hope that everyone else is doing good. Weezie, get to the doctor!!

Hi, Seesters!

SS, that chicken noodle soup sounds good. I enjoy making it homemade. I need a hair cut myself, and perhaps next week would be a good time for me to do it.

Weezie2, I just discovered my Hobby Lobby coupons are going to my Junk Mail folder...glad you mentioned it! I am always up for a trip to Hobby Lobby! Do you have craft fairs coming up? I went to one just a couple of weeks ago with my DIL; it seemed really early, but perhaps it wasn't earlier than other years and just seemed that way. DS asked me the other day if I had had a good time; my DIL and her mom had thought I had seemed very quiet - that was part of the time that I was trying to get the BP to go back down, and actually thought about cancelling my going and laying down, but thought perhaps it might be good to get out and my mind on something else. It was!

LG, I hate winter myself! The 20-somethings in my life keep talking about snow, snow, snow [they want it] and I think no, no, no! I am glad the mystery dinner went well. What did you and Jason decide about the iphone6?

Weezie, are you feeling better? I look forward to hearing about your retreat.

WG, I used to enjoy Robert Redford movies - I am sure that I still would! emoticon Thank you for the reminder.

PJ, the picture of Tony with his golf friends was a happy thing, wasn't it?

It has been cold and dreary here for a week; it is supposed to be better temps this weekend, so perhaps some of you will get it as well. It has been good for soups; I made potato soup one day and a vegetable beef soup another day. DH made his infamous chili yesterday, and it hit the spot. Plus now we have leftovers!

Hi to SEK, JO, TB, and anyone else dropping by...

Good evening. Been a busy day. Kids and grands visiting. Did get necessary laundry done. The tennis court is nearing completion .At least I have something there that can't truly block my view. Not yet.

LG, hate cold weather. I have a hard time when the barometric pressure drops. The cold and damp don't help either. Sometimes I think it had to be miserable enough that you have no other choice. Think about how much more mobility you will have.

SS, I'm thinking the same thing about going south. It is best when it quits being fun where you are. You've tried in the past to keep the connection with the kids. Don't stop trying. This is a few years and you will be there much more. Don't want to lose the connection.

TB, hope the car gets fixed. You will have to think about what to do next. I'm inclined to move on as well. You will probably never feel the same about the car in any case

Tammy, have a great day and a good weekend.

Off to bed. Gotta work the next 3 days.

Another dark and dreary morning! I feel rain is still in the air and it is very humid. Needless to say, I'm looking forward tot he AZ sunshine!

I got my hair cut yesterday. My home made chicken noodle soup turned out really good. I froze the leftovers to enjoy at a later time, perhaps as we travel cross country!

Good morning,

We're raining too. I've got a nice wet pile of leaves I've got to tackle when it dries up. I'd still rather have this that what we get in January.

Kelly's US was so much fun yesterday. She brought her Mother-in law too. Our little girl was so active...almost like she was kickboxing. Everything's right on schedule...Woo Hoo this G'ma is excited to say the least.

We found the party decorations and dinnerware at Hobby Lobby. The baby foxes and owls are adorable.

I need to get busy and get a few things picked up.

Have a great Tuesday!

Good morning, all.

Weezie, hope that you get to feeling better today. I guess you'll be getting more done on that quilt today. Yes, mine passed very quickly I'm glad to say. Take care of yourself.

WG, love the movie "An Affair to Remember". The tennis court sounds just awful! Hope that it doesn't cause problems. I would agree with you about the three of us living close and sharing cooties!! But that isn't the case!

TB, hate that about cars when they are wrecked. I would suggest that after it is repaired see what you can get for it and trade it off. I know that you don't want to do the car payments again but safety first.

Weezie2, those USs are fun to watch. I got to see my sister's when she was pregnant with my nephew. It was awesome! I had to have an US on my hand yesterday and I took Luke with me and he was fascinated with it.

PJ, some times I have to drag myself to a work out too. But I always am glad that I did it afterward. So glad that you got that workout in.

It is raining and still dark here. emoticon It's after 8a.m. and should be light!! It is going to rain all day so our birthday celebration lunch will be wet! With all this rainy, damp weather my joints are hurting. Wrist is bad. Very swollen and stiff. Gee, I HATE WINTER!!! What will I be like in January??? emoticon Yep I think so!!!

Hi all!

Well I'm back. Twice in one day - I must be sick! LOL

I've laid low though I have forced myself to get to some things and even on the treadmill. I keep thinking this nauseated feeling will subside but it isn't going away like I'd hoped. I've spent more time than I care to in the bathroom today but glad I opted to stay home.

PJ, I did get to the sewing room. I've got two things I'm working on that I want to take to retreat to share with LG. So I'm trying to keep myself focused and work on them daily. It would be nice to finish something to share. LOL SO many projects, so little time. DH asked if I was ready to retire when he came home for lunch today. I wish I could get my head wrapped around it but until I can start drawing that little pension of mine, I'm hesitant. Now if they would just eliminate my job and I could draw unemployment for a bit (which I've never done in my life) I could figure things out and then I'd likely temp so I can keep a schedule I like. Well I think anyway. So who knows.

I'm sorry you guys have 'family' issues as well. DH and I were talking about how when we were growing up that grandparents were those you saw on occasion but no real 'bond'. I am happy to have the bonds with the boys and Ava but sadly won't ever with Mya due to that crazy situation. I pray about it on a regular basis and sadly, even though I thought about reaching out, she doesn't get it and wouldn't so I don't. My son is no help which is sad and we can have lunch together but he makes no effort. Anyway, it is sad from my perspective that I won't know this little one.

TB, your car situation stinks and I do hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

LG, I'm sorry you were not feeling well either but sounds like it passed quickly. You had one very busy weekend and glad you got to rest.

SS, I'm sure you're excited about leaving for AZ. The weather is definitely changing but I'm happy to have the generator in place so if we lose power this winter, we won't freeze. Think of us while you're basking in the SUN!!!

Okay, I need to get things addressed so I can work on the quilt binding. I will post a photo of the 'finished' project as soon as it is done. Promise!!

Afternoon Seesters. It was a very long night as I didn't sleep but in snatches. Happens sometimes and knees were bothering me. Halfway through the night one knee quit hurting and the other one became unbearable. Both are doing better now that I'm moving.

Did watch All is Lost with Robert Redford. Probably less than 20 words spoken during the movie but it was interesting. That and An Affair to Remember which is always a favorite.

The tennis court is poured. They spent the day doing that. It will be interesting to see how many of these "bucket list" things this family has in their lives that they actually use. If they don't, I'll have a fairly unobstructed view of the mountains and no noise. If they do play, I expect they will play early or later in the day and not a big deal.

SS, LG, Weezie, feel better soon. If you all didn't live so far apart, I'd say you shared cooties. Sometimes it is nice to take a day off and rest. Feeling better is always at the end goal.

LG, hope Camp Grandma is a fun one. Enjoy lunch tomorrow

SS, feeling a bit under the weather is a great way to make the first week. Appetite is poor so you don't munch as much.

Weezie, glad you are there for your grandchildren. It is fun for both of you but it can make you tired. Lots of bugs taking their toll on children and adults.

Weezie2, hope the US was fun. It is such fun to have a new grand and I know you are excited.

Judy, sounds like your day is a busy one even with nothing planned.

Got to run. Lots to do now that I'm alone and the house is quiet.

I drug myself out this rainy dreary morning and did 1 hour and 45 minutes at the fitness center taking 2 classes. I am pooped and sore. I have let myself get so out of shape even worse than I thought. But this is my start back on a good path again.

It was nice to see the family last night and Jackson is getting so big and he is definitely PAPAís boy (Tony). I couldnít get him to come to me but canít say that I blame him since we donít see him often. Chris and his family were there. I finally got to see the engagement ring very pretty and simple. Bought at Walmart so at least they are being frugal. Still no set date for their wedding which ok by me that they take there time. They have a few issues to straighten out and finish getting Chris house ready.

Sharon hope you are feeling better today. If we saw the kids more when we were home I would feel bad about leaving for the winter, but we donít see Tony and his family much anyway. And Chris and I will keep in touch Iím sure. Dad is the other thing that I have guilt about, but he seems to be doing ok and I only see him usually only one day a week for a few hours anyway.

TB gee whiz sounds like the whole front end of the car will have body repair and/or replacement. But if the engine and frame are good that is why they didnít total it out

Weez hope you are better too. But at least you didnít have to get out on this rainy day. Hopefully you will feel good enough to get some sewing done.

SEK I keep looking at the house and seeing all the dirt etc but just havenít done anything about it. If I look long enough maybe the house will clean itself. HAHA I wish

LG your sick too. Glad your weekend was a good one after all the work that goes into the museum for the mystery event.

Sounds like a lot of us are having this cruddy weather so heres hoping we all get dried out and see some sunshine soon.

I read thru all the posts but I won't attempt to answer all of them.

It was a very busy weekend with the kids getting here around noon on Friday and we celebrated Luke and Jason's birthday. Then we went to the museum and did the mystery dinner. It went so well and lots of people were 1st timers! They said they would be back but it rained so hard that we had to cancel the ghost walk because the kids who do it just couldn't be outside in it. But Saturday was a very good day and we served 2 dinners then. Yesterday we all just sat around most of the day....napping when we were tired. Jason is looking at getting the iphone 6+ and we discussed that in detail!!

Weezie and Sharon, hope that you are both feeling better today. I've had the queasy stomach yesterday. Ended up with the back door trots as Sharon calls it!! emoticon

We have the kids today but tomorrow my sister and I are going to Nashville, Indiana to meet my other sister and we'll have lunch for her birthday. She is leaving for Florida next Monday.

Sharon, you talked about your family "issues" with being gone all winter. A friend of mine quit going to Florida all winter because she became so disconnected with her family. She hated it. So now she goes for the month of January and comes home. I have mixed feelings about it. Not sure how I feel.

I am planning veggie soup for supper tonight. Soup just sounds so good. I need to get moving here and do something constructive.

Yup, Weezie's right - it's rainy here today. I here you on not feeling up to par. My stomach is still queasy but I am feeling much better today!

We still have a lot of the chicken roast left so I am going to run out to the store and get stuff to make some chicken soup. Sounds good and with lots of veggies, it won't be bad for my diet.

Weezie, I'm glad you decided to take a sick day. Some times you just have to give in to it before it goes away! I slept a lot yesterday but feel much better for it.

Weezie2 - glad your Packer's pulled it off in the last few seconds. Norm is a Steeler's fan but they did poorly again yesterday. They are not having the best year. Enjoy the time at the ultrasound apt and shopping after!

SEK - I am never in the mood to clean when it is dark and dreary out. Being as we've had that so much lately, as you can imagine, my house needs a real going over. Oh well, we leave for AZ two weeks from today and it will get cleaned before we go.

Morning all,

Well I decided to stay home. I've been dealing with stomach issues for a few days and decided I needed a day of rest. I hope this passes as I'm quezy all the time and have 'other' issues as well. Not fun being at work feeling like this and I felt like this last week and was told I should stay home so I listened today and did. Now not to let myself be too lazy. I got little done with the little ones here on Saturday and overnight. Kellan had a cough but wan't all the time but it was not a good one. He was so tired so between that and Ava it was very busy but they had fun!

Rainy here today and so I'm glad I stayed put. I plan to get some things done and get to the sewing room. So many projects, so little time. I'm counting down till retirement and yea, I have years but I am beginning to see the 'light' at the end of the tunnel.

Weezie, enjoy the ultrasound with Kelly today.

TB, sorry about the car. I know how it is those darned critters used to love to run into me. I haven't had that in awhile and the last one fortunately just clipped my rear so didn't end up with damage.

Judy, WG, Pat, Sharon, Tammy, and everyone else - just wanted to say hello and enjoy your day and week ahead.

More later......... emoticon

I was a little concerned watching my Packer game yesterday. They were winning at the half, lost the lead in the second half and finally won in the last 3 seconds of the game. Whew!!! That was a close one.

I'll be back later. I'm heading up to go with Kelly to her ultrasound appointment. Then we'll be heading to the stores to get a few things for her upcoming baby shower.

Have a Great Monday!!!

As usual much has happened in the last few days.

SS sorry about the bug.

PJ glad you are happy with the Cave.

It's rainy here so I won't be out doing anything. I did get the upstairs cleaned Saturday but I don't think the downstairs will get much done to it with the rain. With the dogs and people going in and out it kind of defeats the purpose, but how knows what my spirit will do when I get home this morning.

Better get y'all have a magnificent Monday!

emoticon everybody:

PJ and Sharon: I think the odds are about 50/50 that the car will be ready by the 22nd. The body shop said they 'thought' it should be finished some time that week. Of course, they had to order the parts ... yadayada I suspect I'll be driving the truck to Sis's. I have those thoughts about the amount of damage, too, Sharon. The body shop says there is no damage to the frame or structural integrity, that the damage is all superficial - it's just that there is so much of it.

The deer crashed into the passenger's side of the car, crushed the hood and front and then (I have no idea how it did this) managed to wrap around to the driver's side where it crumpled the front quarter panel and driver's door. I had to climb out through one of the rear doors ... I was very glad I was driving a 4 door model!

WG: I hope that if I ever have to spend time in a hospital that I have a nurse like you.

Good Afternoon!

I'm feeling a little under the weather today. Thought I was having withdrawals from sugar and diet pop but unless that includes upchucking and the back door trots, I have to believe I've got some kind of bug! I did get up and dressed with the hope of another outdoor walk but I have to confess to a nap on the couch already. I don't see a walk today!

But the sun is shining and it's another beautiful fall day here. Norm has been enjoying a couple movies on TV that are right up his alley so it's a pretty low key day.

TB - I'm not sure I'd like my car repaired from that amount of damage. I would think seriously about trading it in soon. In the mean time, I hope it's ready for your trip but I'm glad you have a back up plan!

WG - you go above and beyond at work. I'm sure the patients appreciate you. I hope your supervisors do as well. I'm beyond words at your brother's behavior. I'm just not sure what he hopes to prove by not letting family in on his situation. This is when we need support of family. His priorities are a little mixed up. I'm sure we have created our own situation with our kids as well. We are gone so many months out of each year, that we are no longer part of their every day lives. We saw it happen when Norm's parents went to TX every year and said that won't happen to us. The reality is - it has!

Weezie2 - It sounds like a nice "adult" baby shower. I think more and more women are tired of the silly games! I'm glad you got to see your niece pregnant as they do have a special glow about them. Did I mention my niece had her twins. She delivered when we were in Branson so I may have forgotten. Both babies are doing great but according to mommy, they have their days and nights mixed up so she isn't getting much sleep.

Good Morning Seesters
I have managed to walk with Leslie this morning (For the first time in months) and rearrange the She Cave a bit. Didnít get rid of anything but it looks bigger and better now.

Sharon glad you had a good first day on the challenge. I had a little bit of slip up but not bad. Tony is doing great and as far as I know Chris and TT(Fiancee are doing fine) will see all of them at the party this afternoon.

Tammy sorry to hear about DD moving in with BF but not surprised. At least she is putting education and work portions of her life in a positive direction.

TB hope your get your car fixed in time but knowing how these things work I hope you are counting on it. At least you do have the truck for backup.

WG you are such a caring and conscientious nurse you go above and beyond for the good of your patients.

Weez 2 glad you had a good time at the shower. We have been rooting on our KC Royals in baseball.

Happy Sunday!

The baby shower for my niece was nice yesterday. A more grown up version without all the silly games. We were given slips of paper to write our "words of wisdom " on . She received a lot of nice things. This is the first I've seen her pregnant because she lives a couple of hours away from me. She has such a momma glow going on and I'm so happy for her.

I should get busy and get a few things done before the Packer games starts at noon.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi Seesters. Got home a few minutes ago. The day started out poorly and I wasn't happy with some of the care my patients had received last night and they kept a patient in the emergency room an entire hour because they were "too busy" to take them. I'm glad I had time to cool off before the nurse returned.

Then I sent all but one patient home in the last hour of my shift. That meant another hour after work to do the paperwork. But it was better than having the night nurse do the work. She would have put them off for hours or something.

Brother is still in the hospital but I'm a little afraid to call and find out how he is doing because I'm not supposed to know he is in the hospital. Hate this whole "privacy" thing and wanting to put on a flawless face. On his last two visits he made a point to be very vigorously exercising and hiking. His desire to was to out hike my son who is about 30 years his junior.

TB, I'm glad your car is being fixed but I agree about the new ones. You may want to do it anyway. It sounds like a fun trip with your sister.

PJ, glad it didn't freeze. Glad you got your dad's meds done and have started claims on the 5th wheel. That sounds terrible.

LG, hope your weekend is fun. I love the pictures.

SS, glad you are leaving soon. It is hard when the kids don't want to adjust their lives to be with you. For sure they will be missing you when you aren't available. I'm sorry. It isn't fair for them to not value your time and company.

I've thought of a few things to tweak their curiousity but have held off. Mine is announcing I'm leaving town with my lover. Since the children have never met one, it makes life interesting.

Tammy, I'm not surprised your DD decided to move in with BF. He is far more interesting. You know what I mean. She will always go for the thrills. I'm glad you are having fun with DH. Coming home a day early sounds fun. You can surprise yourselves and have a nice drive. I hate driving in storms.

I'm going to bed. I'm sure I've missed someone. Sorry. See you all tomorrow.

This is a fly-by to say hello and share that, after a week, the insurance company has finally made the decision to fix my car. I have mixed feelings about it ... it's paid for (no payments) but those new models sure are nice! Now I just hope it's finished before I leave for my sister's in SW Ontario on the 22nd. We'll be leaving from her place in the early morning hours (like 3:00 a.m. - yawn) on the 24th to go to the Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio. I can always take the truck, if the car isn't ready, but it's a lot harder on gas.

We have had a beautiful fall day here in MI with sun all day! I hope all the young families got out to the pumpkin patches and picked their pumpkins out for Halloween.

I stayed home and got veggies precut for the week and roasted meat to run to when I'm hungry. Today is the first day of our challenge and I sailed through it without a problem. One day done and 69 more days to go! emoticon one day at a time!

Tammy - I'm sorry your DD chose to move in with her BF instead of coming home. After being out on her own, it probably sounds easier than moving home to mom's place. I'll just keep praying that this isn't another one of her classic mistakes. At least she's not rushing into another marriage. Family dynamics are always strange, our family too. I invited my DS and DD to come over on the Sunday before we leave to say goodbye. I enticed them with BBQ's and food. My DD said she's going on a scrapbook retreat and won't make it but she'll tell the rest of the family. She said goodbye yesterday when we had lunch which means she doesn't plan on seeing us in the next two weeks. Oh, and my DS said they may not be able to come as he's helping his SIL that weekend. So, that's family!

PJ - how is Chris doing with his fiancee? And Tony must be doing better now as well.

Hi, Seesters!

A rainy, cool day today - I was able to get out for a walk and did some things in the fitness room here at the RV park. DH and I are going home tomorrow, as the forecast has storms for Monday when we were originally going to come home.

DD officially moved in with BF - at least they aren't married. This is what happens when DH and I offer her a place since SD is giving off vibes that it is time for her to go. She was with BF most of the time, anyway. She has made it through midterm and worked full time plus more, so I just keep my mouth shut. My company line right now for that situation is "Is he good to you?" Enough of that...

SIL is doing well, and there are tentative plans for us to meet them in Branson in the next few weeks, at their request. Perhaps they will want a relationship now that one of the biological parents has Alzheimer's and another died in the accident that SIL was so badly injured in. If so, Tammy will keep her mouth shut and enjoy for DH.

I have begun my usual themed Xmas preparations. I enjoy it. I am doing a "family night" theme, and have Xmas puzzles, will include a Gift in a Jar cookie mix that I found but will try out for DH and I first, will make Xmas potholders, and include individual gifts for the little kids. It just really cuts down on the stress of the holiday concerning the steps.

There is a meeting at the Care Center this Tuesday concerning my brother and his going home in the next few weeks. My youngest sister and I will be there, along with the two ladies that are his medical POA. I sure hope he doesn't tick them off until this is all over - they have been extremely accomodating to us. I am not so sure they aren't better friends to them than he has been to them. He has talked very badly of the primary person and that he wanted to get the paperwork changed before this happened, and has apparently talked it again in the recent days. Regardless, the primary POA has been very good about calling when the Care Center calls her with a concern, etc.

Have a good evening! Hello to all!

I want to say hello to the newest member Danitakathleen. So glad you joined us!

PJ I walked to work a couple times. Glad you made in home safe. I'm trying to be up and moving more at home. It's hard when you sit at the computer most of the day. I'll be so glad to get this kid graduated! I've been walking when I take trips since I usually have a huge down time.

I need to clean house so I should go, y'all have a super Saturday!

We did make it home yesterday with no further problems. Internet was not working like it should when we got home so since they are right across the street from the post office where I was getting our held mail I stopped and told them. They were out about 12:30 and all is working again. Frank took some photos to the insurance man of the damage to our trailer and the agent is to call us back. When the wheel bearing broke the tire came off and crumbled the lower part of the trailer body from the rear tire back. Luckily it did not interfere with driving or we would still be in Colorado. Also so glad we were able to get off highway to a side road before the tire fell off. It could have been so much worse than it was.

Tomorrow I will go spend time with dad and do his meds. Today it has been unloading the trailer and started the many loads of laundry.

LG so sorry to hear about your hand and the upcoming surgery. But 90-95% isnít bad and much better than living with all that pain (once you are recovered)

WG I have been so out of touch lately. I was hoping you had already sold your momís house. As far as the neighbors Iím glad you still have your view of the mountains. What type of business is it that your new neighbors have or sell or whatever they do?

SEK I am so ready for the challenge to start. Have you been walking to work any?

Sharon we still have ripe tomotoes in the garden it seems there must not have been a hard freeze while we were gone. So I need to pick tomotoes and probably see if Chris wants some. He like to dehydrate them and grind into a powder after for soup.

TB hope you get some drying weather now and that Red will continue to be in good shape. Waiting on your insurance is not fun. We may be in the same boat with the trailer.

Tammy glad you are enjoying your self in Branson

Our weather is rainy here too. We dumped out the rain gauge it was full 5Ē so there may have even been more that than while we were gone.

Later Seesters have a nice evening.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Good Morning!

The sun is shining here - NO RAIN! So those that have rain, you can keep it. We have quite a bit in our forecast as it is.

We are meeting our DD for lunch today. Haven't seen here in several weeks again. The days fly by and she's so busy. Looking forward to chatting with her. After we leave her, we're stopping at the grocery store to stock up on good healthy choices of food so I'm prepared for our challenge!

It is rainy, rainy, rainy here too, Judy!! No need to send it our way! Miserable for bad joints!

WG, hope that your brother does well. My neighbor was just diagnosed again (19 years apart) with breast cancer. It is stage 1 and she will have chemo. She was scheduled to have a hysterectomy but they found 2 very small nodes in one breast so that was first. The hysterectomy was just precaution because her sister has ovarian cancer. As for the wrist, I just want to be free of the pain. I already have a hard time with buttons. Can't hold things in my left hand either.

We have the big dinner tonight and the kids and grand kids will be here around noon. I'm ready for the weekend but look forward to Monday!! We will have the kids 3 days next week. We are going to celebrate Luke and Jason's birthday today.

Need to get busy. Just got 2 pans of brownies out of the oven that will go to the museum for the ghost walk.

Good evening. Got home on time for a change. Need to head to bed.

Looks like my brother is getting chemo which is better than it looked last week. Glad he is fighting but a second round with cancer is never a good thing.

LG, how much function do you have now? If it is less than you might have, it is worth it. Less pain, more function. I look at my mom who couldn't even fasten buttons because her thumbs didn't work. Talk to some people. There have to be forums online and you can find out if it is worth it to those who have had the surgery. Nothing is without risk but you can also check on the satisfaction of your doctors skills and success rate as well as the opinions of the patients.

SS, glad you don't have to figure out all the challenges. It sounds like a lot of fun.

TB, mud isn't fun for anyone. Wet ground or wet feet is bad as well.

Tammy, enjoy.

Night all.

This will be quick as I'm tired and want to get to bed. Had a very busy day prepping for the dinner tomorrow night at the museum. Cleaned the house (a lick and promise!!) and roasted another turkey for the dinner tomorrow.

I did take time out for me and finished my book....Killing Patton. Awesome book if you like that kind of thing. Gave me a lot of insight into WWII.

Just finished my last sheet of cookies so those are done and the dishes are cleaned up. Now to finish the laundry and get to bed! emoticon

Hi, friends!

DH and I are in Branson until Monday. We went to a movie here at our RV park; I had never been to our theatre until today, but told DH that I wanted to go see God's Not Dead. It is the first movie "out" we have seen in a long time. Sharon and Norm going while they were here made me want to check it out!

We made the right choice to come here instead of to the state park we were going to. That area has had rain all day; it just began to rain here less than an hour ago.

Hello to everyone!

Lily: Sorry to hear about your hand. Surgery is always scary, especially when they start talking about all the things that could go wrong. I know they have to do that so people can make their decisions based on all the information but it's scary nonetheless.

WG: A heated tennis court, a swimming pool, greenhouses, and a handball court in the basement. Wow - wouldn't it be nice to have that kind of money?

PJ: Safe travels.

Hello to Weeze 1&2, SEK, Tammy, Sharon, Jo and anybody I've missed.

The weather here has been miserable, cold and very wet. The fields are flooded, the rings are flooded and there is mud everywhere. That is NOT good for horses' feet and they can get all kinds of infections - none of them easy to treat. So far Red has been okay *fingers crossed*

The insurance company asked the body shop for more pictures of my car. They're obviously debating what to do. There was damage to both sides and the front, it's not a new car and I've put a lot of miles on it .... It's interesting, because the police officer who came to the scene said he thought the odds would be 50/50. So, I wait some more.

Morning Seesters!
Community Coffee this morning so I'll be quick!

We had our first hard frost last night but the sun is out this morning so it should warm up some.

LG - this challenge is very simple. We have divided up in to three teams and WI every Saturday. It's simply competition to see which team loses the most. Now several have challenged someone individually. AND some teams are doing mini challenges each week. Whatever it takes to have your team win in the end. To make it more fun, each team has come up with their own name and have changed their Profile Pic so that everyone can tell at a glance which team they are on. Every challenge we do is a little different. In the past, the work is falling on my shoulders. This challenge I am letting the teams do the work.

I am so sorry to hear about your thumb. No one looks forward to surgery but some times it is necessary!

WG sounds like you will have exercise equipment in the backyard, what fun?

Just wanted to stop in and say howdy!

LG what you have to look forward to doesn't sound like fun, but if it will make things better I guess it's something that needs to be done.

I've been moving more and eating better let's hope this challenge on another team works. I should say let's hope I work! LOL!!

Got to run have a tremendously great Thursday!

Good morning Seesters. Fabio is running around. Yes, I'm watching him an extra day again this week. His mom accepted a new job and we'll see how that works out in terms of hours. She wants to work 20 hours a week and that is fine but she has sitters for only 2 days. She really works closer to 30 hours a week and is always scrambling for the 3rd day. I don't mind watching him.

The tennis court is going up 5 feet from my property line. The ground is raised 4 feet above my ground level (and the previous ground level for the property and there are 12 foot fence stakes. I appreciate that these people want a heated tennis court, a swimming pool, greenhouses, and a handball court in the basement. I just wish they had done it on the level the ground was before they moved in. They have new money and are wheeler and dealers.

I'm also pretty sure I'm not going to buy their product/brand to support this lifestyle.

But it is a beautiful day and even with the huge fences and other attempts to keep the sight of the neighbors out, they cannot destroy my view of the mountains and I can see the mountain rise above the fence line and above the rooftops. My next door neighbor can't, but I still can.

DS is here and is painting today. I'm getting a little past ready to be done with all this excitement. I've got plans for some of the space and want to get on with my life. It is hard to still be in a state of disorder.

We finally placed an ad for my mom's house. I've had several calls but most are from realtors. If/when we choose a realtor, it will be on different terms than the trolling ones that are calling now.

Tammy, glad your BP is better. Sometimes age is as big a factor as anything else (as we get even a year or so older, our needs change.

I've been off the computer and didn't get the message sent.
Hi to all. Have a great day. Sorry I've not responded to everyone.

Hello Seesters!!

Well, I've had an eventful 2 days. Starting with yesterday. We went to Louisville and I went to the hand center. Had x-rays and then saw the doctors. The thumb on my left hand is basically dislocated. The joint and ligaments that hold it in place are shot. He said that they would go into the thumb and take a ligament from my wrist and split it and wrap it around the thumb bone, take out the joint as it is "eaten" up with arthritis. I would have it splinted for 4 weeks and then 2 weeks of PT. I also have a cyst of some kind in the palm of my hand that he is reluctant to cut into. Said that it could sever nerves etc. He also told me that my right hand is probably just as bad as my left. WHOOPIE!! So excited here!! emoticon NOT!! I told him that it would be after Thanksgiving before I'd consider doing it. He said that was fine. He did say that it would not get better and that by doing the surgery the most I could expect to get back was 90-95%. There are days that it is OK and then days that I can't do anything with it. Oh, well, I'm better off than most.

Weezie2, we don't sell our cans, we just take them to the recycle center. There is a place here that buys them but you have to have huge quantities.

SS, I was wondering about your challenge. Tell us about it. Is it something that we here on this team could do? Maybe some of us would want to be involved in a challenge. How about it gals? Do we want to do a challenge of some kind??

TB, glad that you are getting back to your normal self.... emoticon emoticon !! Enjoy that 2015. They sure are nice aren't they. DD has a 2014 that syncs with her iphone and it tells her thru her phone when something is wrong with the car.

Judy, go to youtube and see what kind of tutorial you can find for making one of those. I'm sure that there is something.

Tammy, I feel your pain with the increase of meds. When I went in July my BP was perfectly normal. She removed one of the pills and now I think it is back up. I need to start checking it. UGH!! I hate that.

The grand kids are on fall break now for 2 weeks. Stephanie is off this week so she has them and next week we get them for 3 of the 5 days. Camp Gramma will be in full swing!!

PJ, enjoy the last leg of your vacation.

Well, I need to go. I have an appointment to get my hair cut soon. I've been on the run since early this morning. Had a bone density test, then Sam's Club, then picked up the desserts for the mystery dinner. Had lunch and then got my nails done and now going for a hair cut. I'll be ready for the couch after that. But all of that will be behind me and tomorrow I can get the house cleaned after we go to the museum in the morning for a school tour.

I'll see you all tomorrow.

Hi, Seesters!

Weezie 2, it is so much fun to get baby shower gifts, isn't it? I "discovered" a baby girl quilt that I did back when we knew we were having 4 babies in the family this year. All ended up being boys, so I still have a baby girl quilt for a future quilt. As for the cans, I think I would have to take mine about 20 miles if I did that. I did take cardboard/plastic/various paper to our recycling center yesterday and it did feel good to end that clutter, even though it stays in a "back room".

Weezie, how are your RCIA classes going? Are they weekly? I remember my BF being a sponsor at different times and talking to me about it.

SS, I know your plans didn't end up being quite what they were to be yesterday, but I am glad that you had a great birthday anyway. How much longer before you and Norm leave for AZ? I know you have said, but Joe was asking me last night, and I didn't remember.

TB, glad you are less stiff and finding things to enjoy.

PJ, safe travels! Yes, Sugar's tummy was better overnight, and I hope it stays that way!

SEK, I have never made pillowcases, but I have thought about doing so. I am very fond of straight seams when I do sew emoticon

WG, I know you enjoyed Fabio yesterday. Did you like that LCW yesterday? I took it v-e-r-y easy, but did just enough to count in case the team makes 100%. I didn't want to be the person that caused it not to be 100%.

My PCP did indeed increase my meds, and with taking an additional pill yesterday at noonish, by evening I had the first normal BP reading that I have had for quite some time and so that was a relief. I am trying to take it more than once a day for a bit, to see if I can see some type of pattern.

I am giving exams and so am watching about half of my class still here. Some are leaving way too early. The college is going to be on fall break for a couple of days, so I won't see my students again until a week from today. The good news is fall break and some "off" time, even though some of it will be spent grading the exams. DH and I will be going back to Branson and "chilling" so that will be good.

Have a very good day! Hello to everyone that I missed.

Wow I was in shock yesterday when I dropped off my cans at the recycling place. Prices are low. I would have spent more in gas to get there than I made from the cans. It's a good thing the place is less than a mile from Kami's house so that definitely made the trip worth while.

I'm heading back to Kelly's to finish the trim today. We have a baby shower for another cousin this weekend so I think we'll be shopping at Kohl's after. Kelly's shower will be at the end of the month. She needs to get her registry finished since the invites were mailed out.

Have a Great Wednesday!

emoticon everyone:

Sharon: Happy birthday emoticon

I'm feeling a lot less stiff today and Red and I played for well over an hour. I so enjoy that big red horse!

As far as the decision re whether my car is a write-off or fixable ... I still haven't heard. The insurance companies seem to have their own sense of time and priority. I'm not overly upset, however, because there really is no point - and I have a lovely new 2015 model to drive while they're 'thinking'.

emoticon to everyone.

I'm moving a little slower today. I spent quite a few hours cleaning out my garage yesterday. My recycle bin is half full already. The aluminum cans will go to the recycling place today...A little extra cash and less clutter is always a good thing. The extra stuff in the garage from the yard sales will be going back to it's home or will be donated. Now I need to find the remote for the car...oops emoticon

Have a Great Tuesday!

Good Morning!

The sun is shining! I've almost forgotten how good it makes me feel.

We are going out with our friends for lunch today. At least it's something fun to look forward to. BUT, I've already warned Norm that once my challenge starts we will be eating out less. You can't accurately could calories from most restaurant meals. And I'm serious about losing weight every week of the challenge!

Tammy - I sure hope the rain doesn't ruin your fun vacation plans, especially for Joe! Very interesting about Sugar Dog. Bailey hasn't been eating the Beneful Healthy Weight that we have been feeding her for years. I think it's because her teeth are falling out so I bought a soft food in packets and she's gulping it right up. It just doesn't have much fiber in it so that's what bothers us.

SEK - I'm not a sewer either so a simple pillow case works for me! Good luck on it.

WG - I'm sorry you are having bad feelings for the new neighbors. Have they even moved in yet? They certainly have made it known that they won't be friendly neighbors.

TB - I can't imagine my dr being upset over me losing a few pounds! And I would love to see readings like yours on my BP. Even with meds I run much higher. I say be proud you are fit and happy!

Weezie - thanks for the birthday greetings! I appreciate you thinking of me. My day started this morning with texts from my DS, DD and several GK's all sending birthday greetings! It's going to be a fun day.

PJ - I hope your restful evening in the city park gets you and Frank both feeling better. I sure hope Frank isn't coming down with anything just before you head home!

Hi, Seesters!

TB, wish my BP was reading like that. I have been watching mine since my last doctor's appointment, and my meds are going to need to be changed. The bottom number is consistently running too high. I was so pleased two years ago when my meds dosage was cut in half; I am not so pleased now, but must take care of it regardless.

Judy, I enjoy getting instructions on line. Have fun looking at fabric.

WG, yes, indeed, NO roommate!

DH and I are watching the weather and will possibly be changing our mini-vacation plans for the state park. They are forecasting rain and more rain during that exact time.

Sugar Dog has been having stomach upsets at night for the past 2/3 weeks, and DH has been researching and found that Nutro has changed their formula in their dog food and this same thing has been reported. Guess who is changing dog food.

Have a good day! Hello to all my seesters.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

First I'm not a good sewer so the case will just be a simple envelope type no cord or fancy anything. Actually the blanket that covers it at the moment looks real good. LOL!! I found instructions on how to make this simple case. I'll have to get to a city to find material I don't want to try and order on line. Pictures can looks tons better than what the product really is.

The high school football won both their games last night so they were happy.

Time to go have a terrific Tuesday!

Good evening. Nice day at work but it got crazier as the day went on. Doubled the census in the last 4 hours of the day. Nice people, though.

Tammy, sorry about the overdue book, but it is nice of you to donate a book. It would be nice for a bit to have DD with you. As long as she doesn't bring a roommate, it will be nice. I'm glad she is taking care of herself in terms of education. It surely is a good thing.

LG, glad you got some rest. I hope you got sewing done. You and Weezie have a lot to do before retreat.

SS, PJ, Judy, I'm liking the turkeys. It sounds like a lot of fun.

PJ, great steps. I love Moab. Colorado is nice as well. Enjoy the heat and chicken today.

Judy, that sounds like a lot of work. Are you making a case and sewing it in place? Are you doing cording around the edges? It will be fun to see it done.

I'm off to feed the dog and go to bed. Got a 12 foot high fence for a tennis court going up just on the other side of the fenceline. I'll have my view totally blocked. Not liking these neighbors much at all.

Have a great night all.

Good evening all:

It was cold, wet, and miserable here today - typical fall and I hate it! There - I've had my little whine ...

Sharon, SEK, PJ - Cool avatar! And like Lily said ... kick butt!!!

PJ: I loved the FB pics.

Tammy: I agree - it's a good thing your DD isn't rushing into a relationship like she did with her ex. And it sounds like she's making some really sound decisions, career-wise.

Weeze: I haven't touched my sewing machine since the quilt show. I think that's some kind of record for me. Right now, I have no interest - I think I burned myself out over the last year ... 1 king size quilt for both kids and 2 for me (and the show). Three of them were hand quilted.

I had a doctor's appointment today; nothing out of the ordinary - he just likes to touch base with his patients every few months. He was happy with my BP 124/62 but hassled me a bit because I had lost 3 pounds. We have this ongoing disagreement - what I think is optimum he thinks is underweight. I hadn't weighed myself since I was in his office last so I plead innocence by reason of ignorance emoticon I told him that if he followed me around the barn he'd understand why ... it's a good thing we know each other on a professional and personal basis. I'd never be able to get away with that remark with anybody else.

I spent almost 3 hours with Red today. I've been working him regularly over the last few months and feeding him good supplements. With the cooler weather he was "feeling his oats". Talk about frisky! I hope I'm up to dealing with him when he's in prime condition emoticon

Hello to Jo, WG and anybody else I've missed.
