Been pretty busy today....typical Monday. The only thing I didn't do was get the church laundry. I'm passing on it this week and will do it all next week. We are planning to leave on Thursday for the 127 yard sales. We will probably be gone until Saturday.

I finished the baby quilt and I'll post a pic later. But it is ready to go. It isn't exactly like what I was wanting but it is very pretty. I will do it differently next time.

PJ, I'm like you....exercise first thing or it doesn't get done. Glad that Frank is feeling good enough to paint again.

WG, who was your hot date with??? emoticon

Sharon, it is nice to be like a turtle and take your home with you!! Glad you enjoyed your weekend.

Weezie2, what are you working on now? I'm going to do some Halloween things. Then I want to work on the Island Bag that I got in Shipshe.

Weezie, good to see you here.....hope that your boss decides to turn in her resignation!

I've gotten over 14K steps every day this week. This week I'm going for 14K and track my food and keep my calories under 1300. I'm also tracking carbs. I've dropped the toast for breakfast and only have crackers and bread at lunch. Hoping for a loss this week. Feel free to emoticon my butt!

Not much going on with us. DH has been painting it is really looking nice the next section is the big end where the garage doors are and the tallest part of the house. Love the color we picked.

I have been walking and walking and some sewing and playing with my coloring books using colored pencils. I had forgotten how fun that was. Something I can easily take with us this winter and it wonít take up much space. I will probably look for some more books when I am in other craft stores.

I finished one of the MiniBags (I got the pattern when we went with the RV team to Branson last fall) Used some of my bag scraps. I will make more they are a perfect size for my sock knitting projects. The kids got home yesterday and DS texted that he loved the bowling ball. I will wait until they call me to paint as they are busy getting ready for school and our trip to Iowa the 14-17 plus trying to catch up from being gone a week.

WG sounds like you are getting your house fixed up with some new furniture that you needed. Good for you. Canít wait to see pictures of your new furniture.

LG I baked some cookies and put in freezer for DH and to take on our trip to Iowa. Still have one other kind I want to get made also.

Weez just remember I donít have to work so I do have more time. But if I donít take a walk first thing Early in the morning I wonít go at all especially in this hot summer weather. I find if I get that walk in it has been easy to get to 10,000 most days. Glad you enjoyed some pool time. It is important to enjoy life and relax too.

Weez2 I LOVE that quilt. The pinks and greens look so good together. I hope my cousin have a whole day in Iowa to do some quilt shop and yarn shopping.

Tammy I think it would be good for Baby Jane to get to go to preschool as long as it works for them medically for her.

Sharon its nice to have that flexibility to stay overnight. Sounds like it was a fun and successful Drag Race. I know you will be back to losing again cause you have made up your mind. Your right you have come to far to stop now.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Good afternoon. It is RAINING here and the water is running down the street. It is a bit unusual but it is the "monsoon" season in the desert. My brother lives in Vegas and they have gullies built into the street system so the water has somewhere to go.

It is nice to know you all had a pretty good weekend. Mine was work and work. The kids came by last night and we played cards for a couple of hours It was good to visit in a small group.

Tammy, have a nice break. I know you will enjoy your time down and away from the everyday in your life. Glad your DH feels good enough to go. Glad you got into the she cave to sew yesterday as well.

Weezie, you had a good amount of Grand time and it is exhausting but so important. I'm glad you get to spend time with Ava even though they have moved. It has to be important to both of you. Also glad you got to spend time in the pool. It needs to be used, so I'm glad you got to use it.

Weezie2, you have a nice mechanic. So glad he is helping you keep up on your maintenance. The quilt is darling. Love the colors. It is nice that the other grandma remembers the quilt fabric.

SS, that sounds like a fun weekend. It is fun to cheer on the champion, especially when you know him. It is nice to live like a turtle and take your home with you everywhere.

LG, I know you will enjoy the beginning of school for the kids. They must have a lot of long breaks if they start so early. We will start in 3 weeks. I'm looking forward to the routine for the grands. They need the structure.

Had a hot date for lunch so I'll have to catch up I've got a few things to do and some cleaning. The furniture arrives a week from Friday and I'll need to be prepared to have things ready for them.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi, Seesters!

DH and I are mostly loaded up for our Branson trip; we are waiting for SD to get here to pick up Tank Dog. I have picking up license plates for my seesters on my To Do list!

Sorry about the storms...glad everyone is okay.

I idly think about making enough necklaces and totes to go to a craft fair. I need to do more than just idly think about it if I am going to do it.

DD is missing work again to go to the doctor; she will see the PA before noon - still having the diarrhea problem. She reports that she is "eating like normal" - makes me wonder what her normal is, especially since the gallbladder removal in December. She came over for about an hour yesterday - it was the first time she had been here since Aprilish - and was talking about her meds schedule - thyroid meds at 6 a.m., a few hours later supplements, a few hours later psych meds...I didn't say it, but she sounded like a walking drug store....of course I know the thyroid meds are necessary, and the of course the psych meds are...but my goodness! She is going back to direct patient care two weeks from today; I do feel she is quite good at that but it will be a different schedule. At the very least, I hope she gets a handle on this diarrhea problem.

Anyhow, I plan to have as good a time as I can over the next few days. emoticon

Have a good day, Seesters!

Lounging around a pool sounds like a little bit of heaven. You deserve it emoticon

I had the lightening along with the heavy winds and rains. I closed all the blinds I usually don't and pulled out my emergency flashlight just in case. Kelly had the hail too. I'll go out and check to see if there's any tree branches down in the yard a little later.

My niece is going to be helping me out during the next craft fair. Cell is getting her knee replace 2 days before and Shana will be out east visiting family. She's a crafty person too so this is an opportunity for her to make a little spending money.

Have a Great Monday!

Morning!

My week is going to be a better week than the last two weeks. I have made up my mind and therefore, it's a done deal!

Norm is off working and I have lots of housework that needs catching up on.

I was already in bed when the storm hit last night. It was pretty rough for a little bit. Lot's of thunder, lightening and even hail. BUT, no permanent damage and everything looks much greener this morning. It was really needed.

Happy Monday all,

Well yesterday I indulged and DH and I floated around the pool for an hour. The water was a perfect temp so made it easier for sure but by the time we got out, the wind was picking up and the storm was heading in. Lots of wind, rain, and thunder but we never lost power. I think the worst was north of us. They even closed the Mackinac bridge for awhile due to the high winds.

I also spent sometime in my sewing room so needless to say, my steps weren't what they should of been this weekend. Between having two grands and then yesterday and doing other things, I just didn't push it. I did get back on track this morning. Not as big a start as I have been but something more than nothing.

Tammy, my boss is talking but hasn't given 'official' notice. If she is going to leave by the EOY, she will give notice in September. We shall see. She is so done but she has been 100% better to the rest of us. So that has helped immensely!!

Weezie, glad the car is behaving better and glad they didn't charge you for MORE when they should be taking care of you along the way.

Pat, look forward to hearing about the possible vacation spots with the family. Glad you had a great time.

SS, nice you stuck around to see this young man win big. The MH is sure a nice way for you to just relax and not have to push.

Now I need to get a move on. Going in a bit late this morning.

Enjoy your day ladies!

Have had a very busy day and I'm tired. We were out late last night and I didn't sleep too well. So didn't get up until later than I usually do. I did make myself walk with LS as I figure that if I sit, I won't get up again! Got all the laundry done and bed is remade and the bathroom is clean. I also got the binding on the embroidered quilt and now it needs to be sewn down. I also took a 15 min. nap!

We had a great time at Jason's and talked about a vacation next year and where to go. We have some ideas so will take them to the travel agent and see what turns up.

SS, sounds like a lot of fun.

Tammy, our grandkids begin school tomorrow! Can't believe that Brooke will be a Freshman. WOW!

WG, you are such a caring nurse. Hope that your idea worked.

Weezie2, love the quilt and I'm sure that Ailsing loved it.

Weezie, you are such a good Busha!! Glad that you found time to relax by the pool.

I need to start dinner. See y'all tomorrow.

P.S. I do see the doctor this Wednesday!

Good Afternoon!
We went to the Sand Drag races yesterday and they went on and on until midnight! We stayed as our best friend's son was winning. He took the top prizes and won over $1500. What a fun night. Then we decided we were in the MH, had Nala with us so why not spend the night and drive home today. So that's exactly what we did.

I've read all the posts but I'm still low on data so I won't respond. Please accept my apologies!

Hi, Seesters!

I love the quilt, Weezie2. I sewed seven 5" blocks together in a strip yesterday, so I call that progress emoticon

Weezie, is your boss indeed leaving? I don't think you mentioned, or if you did, I missed it. I begin a series of three days or evenings of meetings on 8/8, so my mind is getting back into school mode. emoticon I do enjoy your talk of the littles, and perhaps one day there will be some littles in my life on a regular basis.

Toddler Jane may be going to preschool for a few hours per day. Her parents live within walking distance of one, and are considering it. I think that is wonderful. I saw yesterday where a friend of the family brought her and the brother a little plastic pool to swim in. That made me smile.

Hello to all - I slept longer than usual and am kind of in a brain fog right now... emoticon

I lucked out about the car. He replaced a couple of the new spark plugs and so far so good. I only got charged for my oil change. I'll be real happy if that's all it was.

The parties were fun yesterday, just a little warm. Our temps were in the 90's yesterday. Ailsing's quilt was a big hit. I was reminded that Kelly's Mother In law was with me when I bought a lot of the batiks on the way home from their wedding.

I'll be going to Mass with Kelly at 11:30, then our usually Target adventure. I hope to get more sewing done today. I have a new jelly roll that I want to make that big monster tote out of.

Have a Great Sunday!

Good afternoon to you all!

Just reading through the thread and sounds like all are doing well short of a few dealing with a bug of some sort. SS, I hope you're back to feeling better soon! WG, new furniture is always fun. Look forward to photos. LG, eat a piece of peach cobbler for me. Weezie, glad your birthday was good but sorry about the car. PJ, you keep me moving with the fitbit. You're doing great. Sorry Frank hasn't been feeling well. Tammy, a trip? Will watch for details.

Had Kason with Ava last night. It still amazes what a sweet, and content, little boy he is. He is happy to play and so laid back. Ava is good with him too though she didn't get here til late as her mama brought her to us and now with her working in Holland and living in GR it is a jaunt so it was nearly 10 p.m. when she got here. Not the norm so we had to get right to bed.

Late morning my DIL showed up with Kellan (he'd spent the night at his other g'mas) and we all got in the pool. Well, the boys aren't really very keen yet with it but they did float around but Kason wanted to swing so Grumpa did that with him. DIL and I got a chance to chat and hang with the other two. After they left, we went down for a nap and Ava is STILL sleeping. I think her week caught up to her. She is at a new place for babysitting now and I'm sure no nap and with the late night and pool time, she wants (and needs) to rest. She can do that here.

I haven't gotten on the treadmill today but have been doing so much better. I've been forcing myself up at 4 a.m. to get an hour in before work. Not easy but I gotta remember I'm worth it and makes for getting my 10k in far easier. I really do not like trying to do it in the evening.

I had a bit of a scare this past week that my treadmill was acting funny but DH managed to work his magic so I'm still in business. I will start research and maybe in the next year think about replacing it. I've gotten my $$ out of it as we bought it from the gal we bought our house from for a couple hundred bucks. I've already worn through the belt it had so maybe it is time.

Been trying to sew as I've started a different style bag. I also want to get some time to work on a project with the little embroidery machine. A project that is done completely in the hoop. One of those we tried at sister camp but I've forgotten one of the cords needed to transfer the program. I will get to it but need some time notched out to focus.

I need to get a move on. Had hopes of going to Mass tonight but it appears I will be going tomorrow instead.

Hope you all have a great evening!

Good afternoon Seesters. I'm home from work.

I admitted and sent out a very sick little girl. I was glad that I was "well staffed" as I spent a lot of time doing this. Now I'm home.

Tammy, enjoy getting ready for your trip. It sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sure that you will. You even have an excuse to visit quilt shops. What a tragedy.

LG, have fun with your son today. I'm sure they will enjoy dessert. I'm sorry you hurt all the time. It takes the fun out of life. Hope the doctor finds a good substitute. The appointment is in a week, isn't it?

Weezie2, sounds like a fun day ahead for you. Sorry your car isn't behaving. I hope this one fixes it.

I'm off to hit the sewing room. I've got a ton of things to do and have figured out a way I think will do one of them with less work for all concerned. I love it when I get a good idea. Just hoping it works out well.

Have a great day.

Well, I'm trying to get a lot done as we are going up to Jason's house tonight and going to Mass up there. I'm baking a peach cobbler to take with us. Went to the farmer's market and got eggs, blackberries, blueberries, & corn. Got tomatoes and peaches yesterday.

WG, I love new furniture! Can't wait to see the pics.

Tammy, I'm sure that the book was helpful. I need to pay bills also!

Weezie2, enjoy your day! Parties sound fun.

SS, glad that you got some sleep. I haven't been sleeping well lately...just too much pain.

I have the embroidered baby quilt ready to bind. I want to finish it tomorrow because I'm taking it Tuesday to her. She is at my sister's house until Wednesday. Then we also have a new baby boy and I bought a panel to make a quilt for him yesterday.

Thomas and I are going to take off next Thursday to do the 127 yard sale but I think we'll probably do more going to quilt shops to get license plates!! If you want to know about the 127...Google it. It is amazing.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, new furniture! How fun! I have found that the Branson Amish store is much the same way, but usually great deals on spices. In fact, thinking of that, I need to explore the cupboard and see what I might stock up on while we are there. Right now, we plan to go on Monday after SD picks up little dog. Of course, I need to buy groceries, pay bills, etc - all those things that get done on a bigger scale right after payday.

I just finished An Unquiet Mind that I mentioned a week or two ago. I had to force myself to finish it, but I learned a lot and found a lot to be thankful for with DD's particular form of the illness.

We watched The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last night via uverse and enjoyed it. Of course, I am sure this is because we really like Maggie Smith, Judi Dentch, and Penelope Wilson. I enjoy Richard Gere, too emoticon I think I enjoyed it as much as I did the first.

Have a good day, Seesters!

It's going to be a busy day. I have a few things to pick up before I head out for a birthday party right after lunch. I have a graduation party at 4. It looks like it gong to be in the low 80's for a high so that's good.

They replaced a couple of spark plugs on my car yesterday. I hope this takes care of the rough idling. It's a little fustrating for both the mechanic and me since I just had all that work done on my car before we went to Shipsee. It did need an oil change too so I had them take care of that too while they had it.

I need to get going on my steps or I'll be pushing later to get them in.

Have a Great Saturday!

Hi everyone. Just got back from shopping and am expecting Fabio in a minute as his parents are going to a dinner for her work. It should be fun and we can enjoy some time together.

Went to a town 30 miles north and found 2 loveseats and a chair for my great room. They will come in two weeks so I can start enjoying them. I also ordered an ottoman to go with one of the loveseats and it will be two months out. I'm OK with that. I'll send pictures when they are here. I've been living with a recliner, a glider rocker, and a armless chair for a year. Time to move up. This will seat 5 more people so I can now seat 8 in my living area without having to get out chairs. That's it for me as I don't want to crowd my house.

LG, hope the nail appointment was fun.

SS, glad you slept better. That does affect weight loss.

Got some pumpkin soup mix as well as some major junk food at the Amish store between the furniture store (30 miles north) and my house. It was fun but many of the items in the store were not Amish in nature. Got "charms" cereal bits, and some candy as well as dried veggies and pumpkin pudding and soup mixes. Also got some hot pepper cheese to have next time we have dinner and will have grilled chicken sandwiches with the cheese, ham, and pineapple. And green army gummy guys. It will be fun.

Tammy, hope you are having fun.

Goodnight.

Good Morning!
I finally got a good night's sleep so I'm feeling better today. I got a touch of some kind of bug going around and it's like a head cold or sinus thing. It has really brought with it some fatigue. I have all I can do to get my steps in the last few days. A low week of steps with my FitBit.

PJ - glad Frank is feeling better but I'm sure that was very scary for both of you! It took longer than I wanted to get my GD shoes but it was worth it for me. I hope you like them when you finally get them. I love the ladybug, can't wait to see if your DS notices it right away!

LG - busy day for you! My only appointment is I have to go to the dr this afternoon. He froze a wart off in June and it grew back! So he's going to try freezing it one more time before we do any cutting!

All the talk of haircuts makes me realize I need one too. It seems like the weeks just fly by except when you're waiting for your new data plan!

Good morning....

I don't have a ton of time as I'm going to get my nails done and then my car goes in the garage for an oil change. I've got a hair cut at 2 p.m. so a full day on tap.

PJ, Thomas is highly allergic to bees, etc. He never carried an epi-pen as they weren't available at that time. It was back in the '70s. Jason is also allergic and last year he got stung getting the mail out of their box. He called me and said he'd taken Benadryl immediately and wasn't having that bad a reaction. When he was in high school, Jason carried an epi-pen. Not sure how a school would deal with that these days. Glad that Frank is doing OK and just be sure that you are there if he is outside. And no the lady didn't realize that she'd hurt me. Just for the record, I don't mind doing funeral dinners...I've just never done one at night and didn't know what to expect. It was different.

WG, glad that you had a good day at work. That is always a plus.

Weezie2, glad that you had a good birthday!! I think the heat is getting to everyone.

Now I need to get moving so I can get to my appointment.

I had a Great Birthday. The kids and I went to the zoo then out for supper. It was in the 90's but we had a nice breeze and we drank lots of water. Even the animals were lazy with the heat. I managed over 12,000 steps today so I'm happy with that.

I think it's going to be an early night with all that fresh air.

Good evening. I've got some zucchini in V8 cooking and will have that for dinner. I love veggies and the tomato flavor is fun. Sometimes I will put in diced tomatoes but had the v8 nearby and wanted to use it. I have enough for 2 meals which is another plus.

Worked today and had a good one. Was able to get pain under control and have people still breathing. It was a long day but it wasn't too hard.

DS is in Chicago and visited the Natural History Museum there to see Sue, the giant T Rex. He still looks angry but is happy to see some things he has wanted to see (he sent a picutre.)

Girls, you would have to know my sister to understand why I would torment her like this. I normally don't do things like that but she made such a fuss and she was a grown woman that I had to do it. I've had a cat leave 6 baby snake carcasses lined up perfectly on the porch. I've had snakes in my house, I've had a lot of garden snakes in my life. I cannot afford to become hysterical and fuss. I needed to make my children confident.

Sek, I hope your anniversary was a fun one.

SS, I'm sure you will have another loss. Sometimes we have to be more careful as we get closer to goal. Sometimes it just takes a week longer than we want for things to work out.

PJ, that is so frightening to have your DH have a reaction to stings. Does he have an epi pen now? That would be helpful. Have you heard from the kids about the lady bug?

LG, I know late evenings are hard and I'm sure your sources hated having things late as well. I'm glad the crowd wasn't as big as you thought it might be. Hope your foot feels better soon. If it doesn't, a stiff shoe helps support things until they don't hurt as much.

Tammy, hope DH's bloodwork turns out good. I'm sure you will enjoy a break and time in Branson.

Off to enjoy my zucchini.

We ended up spending a few hours in ER yesterday afternoon. DH got stung on his fingers by 2 hornets within an hour his arm, face, lips, tongue were swelling as well as hives. They gave him some IV meds and once they saw the swelling was starting to go down sent us home with Rx to be picked up today. He has been good and not even tried to go outside to do anything today not sure I can keep him down after today. But he is much much better. He has been bitten many times before with no reactions. I told him he is getting older and his system is changing. He didnít appreciate the comment about getting older.

Tammy enjoy your Branson trip. I donít like walking in to get a haircut as you never know if they will give you a good haircut.

I delivered the bowling ball this morning. Now to see if they notice it when they get home. Got out for a walk early this morning and went to Zumba. My GPS and fitbit was doing all kinds of weird stuff this morning. I hope it was because it was a little foggy. Anyway my steps are really off (too high) because when I started my walk it showed a negative number when I started and GPS showed me somewhere in KC (I think)

Sharon not sure if I will have a loss this week myself.

LG what an ordeal at the dinner. No wonder you donít want to do them between worrying about the food and getting hurt. Did the lady know how bad she hurt you? I may go down and use up some ripe bananas and bake some bread. It will go in the freezer so I donít eat it and Frank can get some when he wants it.

Weez2 Happy Birthday to you. emoticon

Hello, Ladies!!

Want to wish our sister, Weezie2 a very emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Hope you enjoy your day!!

SS, you'll be fine! Just look how far you've come! And how much of an inspiration you've been to all of us and others!

PJ, that bowling ball just gets cuter!! I've been trying to get 15K steps per day as I do better when I do that.

Tammy, I am just loving all the license plates. I think they are so much fun and I can't wait to put them together in a quilt/wall hanging!

WG, hope that you have enjoyed your peace and quiet time.

TB, my brother used to try to scare me with snakes but I decided that I would not let him scare me. Then he threw one at me. Of course, that isn't as bad as putting it down your shirt! I must admit that would have freaked me out!! emoticon Glad you are enjoying your little spot of heaven.

Well, we did our first evening funeral dinner last night and I'll admit I don't want to do any more. The place where we get our chicken was late getting it all done and then after the Mass we were told to expect about 150-175 people when we only fixed food for 100!! We were all freaking out over it. But only 95 showed up and we were saved. But one of the other gals who was working walked into me and I now have a very sore toe and I think it is broken. It is black/blue and hurts like crazy. Didn't get home until 9:30 after cleaning up and my hips and knees and ankles were killing me. Didn't sleep well.

We have the kids here and we are going to bake cookies after lunch. So I need to get moving. Have a great day, everyone!!

Running low on data for the month and I have until the 8th for my new pkg to start. Thus, I will check in but won't be commenting on all the posts.

I gained at weight club yesterday but I'm hoping to get back to my low weight this week. I'm sorry to say we have our Community potluck today and that won't help!

One of my Seesters here chased her sister with a snake? emoticon My, my, my!

DH has routine fasting blood work in the next hour and then after he eats he has an appointment for the motorhome to be inspected, just before the month's end. We hope to finally get to Branson on Monday and come home on Friday just prior to three meetings at my workplace beginning on Saturday. I shall be able to pick up the rest of the license plates for my three Seesters here! emoticon

I had my hair cut yesterday, as I realized I wouldn't have another chance for almost two weeks. I guess I would have had a chance if I wanted to walk in somewhere, but that just takes too much energy to make that choice. emoticon

Got a haircut yesterday also went to Zumba, did a 2 mile walk and then worked in the yard. Over 15,000 steps sore and tired (did not sleep very good last night either) today. Took dad to the eye doctor now have spaghetti sauce using tomatoes from out garden. Staying in and taking it easy today. BTW I donít know if I mentioned although the siding people did not warrant our faded siding they were out this morning about the peeling gutters and soffets and that will be replace at no charge. YEA at least we are getting something out of that warranty.

It was raining this morning so did not get out for my walk. And I have found if I donít do it first thing early in the morning it wonít happen.

WG enjoy your quiet time. You deserve it.

TB saw your pics on fb looked like a good place to be relaxing.

Time to check the spaghetti sauce.

Re worked the ladybug a bit made it have whimsical crossed eyes and DH drilled hole on top for antennae

Happy anniversary SEK!

WG: OMG - you sound just like my sister. She used to chase me around with snakes, too, although she got into big trouble when she stuffed one down my shirt. Parents thought that was taking it too far. I thought being chased with one was taking it way too far - but I guess it's all about perspective.

Mr. TB and I spent yesterday afternoon down by the lake, reading, relaxing, and watching a family of loons. They only have one chick and both the male and female actively parent. It's always fascinating to see the interactions.

It's really hot here again today. It seemed like a good day to do a repeat of yesterday ... I don't know what got into me but I went on a cleaning binge - outside - in the heat. We washed windows and cleaned and scrubbed our glassed-in porch. We have a lot of windows! But we got it all done and it looks great; it's only 2:00 now so we'll have time to get a couple of hours (at least) down by the lake.

Have a good day, all, and I'll talk to you later.

Good morning. DS left early this morning but not early enough. He was to leave before I got up but I had to wake him. He was about 40 minutes late to the airport, but since one usually plans to make it early to allow for problems, he was fine. He texted me from on the plane. He is excited to go to Chicago. He hasn't been there before so it should be fun.

I'm looking forward to an undramatic few days that are quiet and the dog is looking forward to the same. DIL is taking the kids to Vernal to see the Dinosaur Monument. It isn't a big thing so she will be back tomorrow.

DS#1 has a birthday today. I think we might be going to lunch, his choice, but he is very fit and careful about what he eats. I'll be fine and not be too crazy.

LG, hope things to well at the funeral. Hope you aren't out too late.

Tammy, glad you got your walk in. I'm not fond of snakes in the garden. Even the garden snakes frighten me. Not as much as my sister, though, and when she is around, I will catch them and chase her. I'm mean that way.

Good to see you Judy.

Gotta go and do laundry and some dishes. It was lovely and cool last night. Loved it.

Have a great day.

emoticon , Judy!

Another hot day here, as for most of you, but we do have a chance at a cool down in the next day or so.

I was out and walked early; I picked enough green beans for us to each have a serving at lunch time. I found a monstrous cucumber that I had missed earlier. Did anyone else see the picture of the python of FB that had been let loose and showed up in someone's back yard? Let's just say it creeped me out and I certainly am diligent as I look for cucumbers, etc. emoticon I am going to get a hair cut this afternoon - probably at least two weeks later than it should have been, but what the heck, it's summer.

The battle of Tammy vs. the vacuum cleaner was a loss for me. I did everything I knew to do as per the manual, including making sure I had tightened screws, etc. DH even tried to get to the motor and could not. For now, I am using the wet/dry vac until I decide what I am going to do.

I had a delightful time with BF yesterday at Olive Garden.

I'm getting here early because I need to get things ready for the funeral dinner. I also want to get to the sewing room and try to work on the quilt.

We will have the grandkids tomorrow as they start school on Monday. Where has the summer gone?? emoticon

SEK, good to see you. Don't live close to Philly so you won't be seeing me! But it would be nice to meet. Enjoy your anniversary! How many is this??

Weezie2, I know that you enjoy your time with Claire and Kami. That is nice that you are making a tutu for the 2 yr old.

PJ, I like the way you did your bowling ball. I have a friend who told me that she would paint mine. I have Thomas' mom's ball. I had a guy that repaired wrecked cars paint the ball and he left the name on it too. Rachel has been taking painting classes lately. I might have her do it!

TB, love the pic of you on FB. Enjoy your visit with your sister and BIL!!

Tammy, glad that you got your walk in early. We've also had the triple digit heat index. I am basically just staying inside.

WG, glad that you got some cooler weather. Maybe you can send it this way???!! I really do like warm weather but this is just hotter than I like.

Need to get busy. In fact, I need to get in the shower!!

Yes, I'm still around and kicking. Been doing some walking and working. Not much new going on.

Mike and I are going to Wichita for our anniversary this weekend. Spending the night and doing nothing. Like SS unplugging for a couple days.

I guess I do have some news. Monday I will be going to Philadelphia for two weeks to help a center out there get their drivers ready for school. Anyone in the area wants a meet and greet let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Joshua has 1 more credit to graduate so we'll be starting on that in a few weeks. He hasn't chosen a course, looking for something easy. It's all down hill now.

Better go I just got back from a walk and need a shower. The humidity is really up there.

Welcome new member Lildolly. Take care everyone.

Hi Seesters. It is a cooler day than usual. They say it won't last, but it was very nice going out this morning. I thought I had posted earlier, but I can't see it, so it is lost in the ozone. That happens.

LG, glad you got the groceries for the funeral. I think with the embroidery, that minimal stitching will bring out the beauty of the quilt and not overwhelm it. Good choice.

Tammy, glad you got your walking in before the heat hit. It is hard when it is miserable. I've walked in the heat but it isn't fun, especially since I wear a big hat and long sleeves. Not into the sun on my skin. I'm a vampire, you know.

Weezie2, I imagine the dehumidifier would be wonderful. I hated it when I lived in Mississippi and melted all that summer. It was miserable. Hate humidity, but I live in a very dry place so it isn't a big deal here.

Gotta run and get some things done soon. DS is on the way home. He leaves very early and I expect his kids will stop by and visit and say goodbye.

Have a wonderful day.

I got the last of the corn frozen and all the laundry done. Went to my sewing room and started to "quilt" the baby quilt. I'm doing nothing more than stitching in the ditch. It is thick. If I do another one it will be different. I probably should make another and give that to my niece's baby but it's done and I think it'll be fine. Not going to do a ton of quilting.

It's been so hot and humid here that I've been inside most of the day. I have the funeral dinner tomorrow evening. Went to the grocery store today to pick up a few things I will need for the dinner.

I see that everyone is very busy and I need to get busy again.

Weezie2: Humidity causes problems for me, too. Dry heat - that I can take - but not humidity.

It's another hot, humid day here, as well. I went to the stable early this morning, intending to ride but Red was already a bit sweaty when I brought him in from the field, and he had just been standing around; he got the day off. We are supposed to get a few more steamy ones, but by the weekend the temps are supposed to fall to the mid 70s.

I've been puttering around, inside, catching up on a bit of long neglected housework.

My sister and brother-in-law are coming for a visit (arriving Friday) and I'm really looking forward to that. They haven't been to visit in 3 years. They have 6 horses and it's hard for them to get away; they haven't even met Red yet. I know Sis will be impressed emoticon

It's been so humid here that one of my stops yesterday was at my Lowes store. I bought a dehumidifier to help the AC not work so hard. Let me tell you how great that works. I turned down the AC so it's not running as cold and I emptied the 70 pint bucket on the dehumidifier this morning. It filled up overnight. I can breathe so much better with all that humidity out of the air. I wish I would have bought the unit earlier in the summer.

Today is a catchup day for me. My laundry is calling. I promised my nephew I would take hime to the bank to get his checking account opened. I hope to get to my sewing room before I go visit mom later today.

Have a Great Tuesday!

I scuffed the ball with some fine grit sandpaper and a scotch brite green pad to take some of the shine off of the ball. Then I used Rustoleum 2X as the base paint. I made circles out of painters tape and just used my acrylic black paint to paint them. I sealed it with some gloss latex varnish that I had in my painting supplies.

I had a busy day as well. Started watching Claire at 7. Made a tutu for Saturday...a friend of the family's daughter is going to be 2. She's a sweetie. I ran a few errands and just got home around 6. It's a good thing my steps are almost in for the day so I can just relax and put my feet up.

The lady bug is cute. I have a bowling bowl that I wasn't sure what to do with. Is there a special paint or primer that you need to use?

Have a Great Monday!

Hello, I've been on the run since I got up this morning. Went to Chapel and then to SVDP. After chapel I learned that I have a funeral on Wednesday evening at 6p.m. and they want a meal at 7:30 in the evening!! emoticon REALLY!! I'll be there cleaning up til after 10p.m. But I won't say anything as I know that the family needs this.

WG, glad that you'll have a few days to yourself. That will be nice for you.

Tammy, I totally agree....found out today that a friend's grandson is having seizures up to 4+ per day. So sad.

SS, that sounds like a wonderful weekend. I need to do that some time. I must admit that I only allow myself 2 hrs per day on my computer or I'd be here for hours!

PJ, I love the bug!! I have a friend who is going to paint mine. I love that you are so talented. I just wish we all lived closer so that we could do things for each other!

Now I'm going to get busy.

Good afternoon. The unit is over budget and to cut corners I was sent home and someone who is less money in terms of staffing took my place. Totally broke my heart---not. I'm enjoying a bit of quiet in the middle of the day with no one knowing I'm here.

It will be a quiet week as DS is going to Chicago to a conference for a few days. No son or grands here for a couple of days. It will be a good break for me.

Tammy, it's true that our problems often don't amount to a hill of beans, but it is our hill of beans and is often troubling. It's OK to be sad about things are going on in your life. You are a caring person and if those around you are in need or in pain, it is natural for you to care and want to help them. Understanding that helping isn't always going to improve their lives is hard for you.

SS, glad you had fun with your mini vacation. I understand about the streaks. I'm sure you will figure out what to do next but having a really long streak is hard as it becomes so important to keep it going.

PJ, love the lady bug. it is so nice that you left the name on it so your son can enjoy the memories. You are so clever with your art and painting.

I'm off to get some laundry done so I can say I did something productive today. Have a wonderful day.

The bowling ball is so cute, PJ!

I was considering that I was having a bad day - a case of the grouchies - until I got on FB and saw little Jonny, the seven year old son of a long ago student is back in the hospital. A 7 year old with cancer is a much worse problem than my irritations.

Have a good day, Seesters!

DH is resting again today from the heat. He is probably about half done with the painting. Very time consuming and he is taking it slow in this heat. I took an early morning walk and have gone to the grocery store. I am doing some laundry and may finally break into one of my coloring books.

Will be delivering this to DS and setting it in the yard close to their front door as a surprise while they are gone this week. It was DS dad's ball which had his name engrave on it. So I left that showing as well as the other lettering.

Morning Seesters!
I am back and feeling good and ready to work hard again. I totally relaxed and didn't worry about anything over the weekend. I unplugged from everything and I totally survived, lol. I didn't weigh myself though as I can feel my weight is up. I'll wait until Wednesday's WI to see where I'm at. The only downside is I forgot about all the streaks I am losing but oh well, too late to reconsider. I'll just have to start fresh!

PJ - sorry you had to return the shoes. I had to return mine because they were too small so I was surprised yours were too big! Hopefully, you will consider them worth the hazzle.

Weezie - I do feel sorry about the disruption coming in Ava's life. I hope you still get to spend a lot of time with her as you are such a stable influence on her.

I took the time to read all your posts but now I'm totally out of time to respond to everyone. I apologize and will chat with you next time.

Good afternoon everyone:

Lily: I'm sorry about the pain issue. The pain is bad enough by itself but when you can't sleep and have to deal with fatigue on top of it ... emoticon Enjoy your movies and feel better soon.

Weezie1: I'm glad Ava has you and your DH in her life.

Tammy: Your talk about work reminds me so much of Mr. TB. He used to spend most of the summer designing new projects and revamping others.

WG: I hope yesterday was relaxing after the day you had on Friday.

Sharon: I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Weezie2: I love the minions quilt!

PJ: I hope Frank takes it easy in this heat. It takes no time at all to get dehydrated in temps like that.

I've been interested in the iPad conversation. I have a Nexus 7 (7" screen) which I really like, especially because I can stick it in my bag and always have something to read if I have to wait. But, it seems to be having some 'issues' these days. I'll take it in to our computer guy, and depending on what he says, I might be in the market for a new tablet. I'm tempted by the full size screen but I'm afraid that I'll find it too cumbersome after I get it.

It has been really hot here, too, with temps in the low 90s Fahrenheit and 80-90% humidity. I can normally take all kinds of heat (I swear I was a lizard in a past life) but the combination of heat and humidity causes problems with my asthma. I do have inhalers, but I am reluctant to use them because I find the side effects so annoying. Besides, I know the real solution is to remove myself from the triggers. I did go to the barn today, figuring Red and I would work on something slow and easy, but when I was confronted by the big sand rings (and watched the waves of heat rising off them) I changed my mind ... fed him, groomed him, and put him back out.

Enjoy the rest of your day, all, and I'll talk to you soon.

Good afternoon Seesters.

Tammy, glad you got that walk in. Sounds like a lot of fun. Sorry the vacuum isn't working. I've got one in my basement that doesn't like dog hair either. I'll need to take it apart again before the basement is finished as my Dyson isn't going down there. I think the dog hair gets in one of the bends. Keep going. You will figure it out.

PJ, sorry the shoes didn't fit. Hopefully the new ones will come soon. Glad your hubby is taking his time painting. That is miserable to have to paint "lifetime" siding.

LG, sounds like you are really missing your arthritis meds. Hopefully you will get something worked out with the doctor and get feeling better soon. Have fun watching movies and resting.

Weezie2, I would love another dog when my current one passes on but DS is allergic and it isn't a good idea. I love the companionship and the protection having another set of eyes and ears and someone to greet me. We'll see how long DS stays with me then I'll make decisions.

Weezie, I'm so sorry that Ava's mommy is not taking care of her as she should. I agree that the child has no business going to work with another adult, much less a boyfriend that no one knows that well. I'm glad that you are still there for her. Hope you will get into the pool. It is wonderful that she is interested in sewing. It will be fun for both of you and you will give her a gift that she can enjoy all her life.

Keep an eye on that little girl. If your "gut" tells you this isn't good, listen to it.

I hope the boys enjoy Reese. Having a new house and a larger yard is a good time for a pet. They are young so the burden of care will fall on the adults, but that's fine.

Got to go. Marinating chicken and have veggies and fruit trays ready as well as some rolls and chips. Will be a laid back dinner today with the children who come.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Morning....Been a very busy morning so far. Didn't sleep good last night just too much pain. Got up and did a Leslie Sansone work out. I have to keep moving. Then we went to Wal-Mart and the grocery store. I plan to sit on the couch this afternoon and watch some movies. Then I plan to cook some pork chops on the grill. I got peaches at the farmer's market yesterday and I plan to fix the crock-pot peach cobbler.

Weezie2, I would love to get another dog but Thomas doesn't want one. So we won't be getting one any time soon.

Weezie1, that is just awful about Ava. Why can't her mom figure it out? So sad. I'm sure that the boys will love the dog.

Not sure what I plan to do with the quilt. It is a bit "stiff" and I'm thinking a wall-hanging. It might lend itself to that better. If I make another it won't be like this one as I've decided there is a better way to do it.

Tammy, I thought I was the only one with vaccum issues. Mine wasn't picking up well and I hated the thought of replacing it. Now that Claire is scooting herself all over the floor I wanted it clean before I watched her yesterday. I had taken it apart a few weeks ago. When I put it back together one of the pieces wasn't tight. It works like a charm now. Maybe it's as simple as that for you.

It going to be hot and humid all week. I plan on getting some little bags sewn today. We have another craft fair in 3 weeks.

LG, a nice border will finish off that adoreable baby quilt nicely. I think it will help "draw the eyes in"

Weezie, how fun that Ava wants to sew. Kami still sits on my laps when she's over and I'm sewing. It's fun sharing interests with them. I can see your grandsons with a puppy. I wasn't sure I would get another dog when Bear passed. But I fell in "love " when the neighbor's kids walked a litter of puppies on my property. Reggie's been with me since he was old enough to leave his mom. He's a great companion.

Hi to everyone else....Have a Great Sunday!

Good morning to you all!

Just got off the treadmill and decided to sit at the computer while I cooled down. Got to bed late last night so had to push to get moving this morning . Now to get around for church.

SS, I see you are away this weekend which explains your steps. I was afraid you weren't feeling well. Glad that is NOT the case.

Weezie, love Kami's quilt and she is clearly very proud of it. You did well my friend. I got your note about the fitbit as well and I thank you. I thought I had friended you didn't show up so I second-guessed myself. What a drag that you lost the first one but I guess that is the risk with these little guys.

Tammy, hope the 5k was fun and just getting out with folks doing the same is fun. You likely found you push yourself a little bit more as well. Look forward to hearing about it.

PJ, please share thoughts on gravity shoes. I am in need of new shoes and now sure what I want. I know SS loves hers. Shoes aren't cheap so always appreciate reviews from folks who have and use.

WG, I see you continue to be very busy. I know how it feels. This month is flying by for sure and we're already in beginning of school year mode and we've had no summer to speak of. Sort of a drag.

LG, the baby quilt is adoreable. Have you decided on a border? I'm trying to improve on my steps but still not catching you. LOL Better is good though, right?

So my older son and wife got a new puppy yesterday so late in the day I decided to take Ava over to see the puppy. It is an 8 week old boxer. Not sure why this breed but their choice. She is a cute little thing and they named her Reese. Of course Kellan had a lot to do with it since Reeses Pieces are his favorite. He's really an animal lover so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I'm sure there was little sleep in their household last night. Better them than us. LOL

Haven't had much opportunity to get to my sewing room but hope soon. Ava wanted to sew yesterday so we got a little sewing kit of her own and I was helping her with just threading and the up and down piece. She got 3 pieces put together and was oh so proud.

Feeling a bit of frustration with Ava's mama as they are now in Grand Rapids but has she done what she needs to make sure this little girl is covered? NO!!! Grrrrrrrr......................
So I had planned for Friday night, and all day Saturday. Last she shared is that her boyfriend's family would take her today. Well when I got her to finally confirm her plans for her today it ended up she would be spending the day with the boyfriend at work. Well, 4-5 hours sitting around an Art Van Store. Who takes a 5 year old to hang around a store and why would you think this is a good idea? So I told her if she wanted to stay today it was fine so she left it up to Ava. Of course she didn't want to do that. So she'll be with us again today. She can at least be fed, play in the pool, get a nap and just enjoy her toys. I've got my concerns about this move and how she is going to handle things. Sara starts working in Holland which is in the other direction of us starting today. Infuriates us that this little girl doesn't seem to be her 'first' priority. What is wrong with some kids these days? Sorry, rant over.

Now I need to get a shower as I want to get to Mass this morning.

Do hope you all have a great day. I hope to get some time in the water with her today as well as it is gonna be another hot one.

Have a good day and week ahead. emoticon

Hi, Seesters!

I am in the troubleshooting-of-the-non-picking-up-dirt vacuum cleaner mode, Day 2. No luck yet, but have replaced the belt, cleaned out hoses, washed filters, etc. If I can get it to work properly, I shall be very proud of myself! emoticon The 5K will start four hours from now, so I have dinner to do [leftovers for Joe, a Slimfast shake for me as I ate way too much at lunch] and then find things to do until time to leave. It's about 30 minutes from home, and I shall need to pick up my shirt, etc. I may get a little excited about it yet - not that I am not glad to do it, but sometimes it is "WHAT DID I DO?" when I actually have to get in gear and do something.

I have begun the computer work for one of my fall classes - editing some things that I did last spring. I have done so for the powerpoint presentations of the first unit of material for the class.

I did receive my Gravity Defyer shoes yesterday but they were too big. So I boxed them back up and sent them back within a couple of hours and ordered a half size smaller. Iím anxious to get the new ones.

LG sounds like you are getting that freezer stocked up. I pulled the green bean plants up this morning. Had enough for a couple of fresh pots but they didnít do well this year. Too much rain. We are starting to get ripe tomatoes now.

WG sorry to hear you had such a long busy day causing you to get home late. Glad you got some lap time with the grands.

Tammy the 5Ks I have done have been for fun too. No record setting for me either. Although 3 years ago I came in 2nd place in my age group. Now keep in mind I didnít have much competition it seems the older brackets donít have as many participants. LOL Glad you are keeping an eye on Joe especially in this heat. I worry about Frank to doing the house painting. But he does it in the cooler part of the day and has been taking a couple of days off here and there.

Weez2 I love the Minion quilt Kami looks very pleased as well.

I have been cleaning house today.

Good morning...well, for a bit any way! We went out to eat last night and we had a very good time. Talked about maybe doing a family vacation next year. Trying to find some common ground where everyone will be happy. I'm over Disney. But that may be our go to place. I won't do 8 days again but 5 might be doable.

Went to the farmer's market this morning and got more corn. The kids want some so I'll fix it an give it to them. Also, got some peaches and tomatoes. Wanted some eggs but no one had any. Although there was a guy there with free range chickens (cleaned and frozen) for sale. If he is there next week, I'll be buying some!!

The quilt is ready to be sewn together and then put the backing on and bind it. But I went to the store where I bought the program and found out that I could have done it a bit differently and it would have been a lot easier! And last night I got a call from my brother and they are having another grandchild in February. So maybe I'll be making another one of them. We do have one due in August so we'll see.

WG, sorry that work was so awful. Sorry too that you didn't get home until late.

SS, enjoy your weekend.

Got to run and get some lunch. Then I might try to put some blocks together.

Good morning. It is cool and sunny this morning which is wonderful. Only hit 90 yesterday. The weatherman says we are going into an early autumn with the temperatures.

Work yesterday was hideous. Had 2 of the original 11 patients there and they sent help home because we were dropping in census. Then they started coming one and two at a time. It was awful. I got out 2 hours late which was a pain.

The kids were here planning to eat at 7 and then do fireworks. I got home quite a bit later than that but we had a good visit. I had one or two of the babies on my lap much of the night. The grands got along mostly and it was a lot of fun.

LG, hope you get that quilt done. It looks so cute. I'm sure it will be a treasure. Then you can move on to the next project.

This morning I've got a run to get corn and a bit of produce then to the store for some chicken for tomorrow. Had all the kids except DS#2's family yesterday so don't know who will show tomorrow.

SS have a fun weekend.

Tammy, love your corn story. I've never sold but had enough in the garden to eat. Your garden sounds fun. It is good to keep Joe a bit protected until he feels better. He should heal over the next few weeks.

Have a great day everyone.

Minions are very popular this year. It's a quick and easy project when you buy the panel and just have to put borders on it in order to quilt it. She carries the train one I made for her last birthday around all over the house, The panel ones are much more kid and washer friendly. When she gets older I do plan on piecing her one for her bed. It would be a fun project if she decided to help me.

I have a few errands and phone calls I need to get done today then I'll be off to visit mom later tonight.

Have a Great Friday!

Hi, Seesters!

The sweet corn discussion took me back to my first marriage, which ended 26 years ago. My ex- planted a sweet corn patch and sold it, and when he wasn't home and I was, I would sell it. In my fledgling garden, I have three stalks of corn growing with some ears forming, and that is the first time that I have ever tried to grow corn or ever thought about growing corn. LOL!

Weezie2, that is indeed a very nice quilt. Did you quilt it yourself? I think it likely that you said while you were working on it.

WG, emoticon

SS, I don't walk so as to get timed at my 5Ks. I just walk and I have either gone because of walking with someone [like DS in Pensacola] or because it is a good cause [AHA Heart Walk, St. Jude, etc]. This only makes #5, so it isn't like I am setting the world on fire with my walking. My BF wants to do one with me in the fall that Bass Pro Shops organizes, so I guess I will do that one with her and that will be just two for the year.

Joe did a bit of the lawn work yesterday evening when the sun went down a bit and I did the "harder" part - we are going to finish up this morning. Joe is doing better, but I am always after him to be careful for things like this. It is to be very hot this weekend, but of course it IS summer.

The only pre-winter items in my freezer are cherries and peaches. Guess that shows where my priorities are. LOL

Weezie2, what a wonderful gift for Kami!! In my travels to quilt shops for the Row by Row, I've seen so many Minion quilt "tops". They are so cute. I have to tell you....at one of the shops, I used the restroom and the walls were full of Minion panels!! Also, lots of Christmas panels. It was interesting.

WG, emoticon it's got to be hard to watch your son. Has he made a decision? I hope for your sake that it is soon and everyone can move on.

I need to get the church ironing done and plan to do that this morning. I got another quilt block done yesterday for the baby quilt. I need to do 2 more and then back and bind it. It is so stinkin' cute!! After I finish that I plan to work on that bag that I bought in Shipshe. Lots of projects and need to get together what I plan to work on at quilt retreat. That will be here pretty quick. It is early this year....September.

Got all the corn in the freezer!! I have some fresh green beans that need to be cooked but that will be done tomorrow. Today I plan to get the ironing done and then the last 2 blocks in the quilt done.

Have a great day!!

DS apparently stayed home fromwork and had his kids all day. Not surprised as he was talking with DIL when he got home very late last night. He usually works late on the days he doesn't have the kids as he needs to keep "lawyer hours." The house is a terrible mess but is not my problem. DS will have to clean it up when he is done visiting with his children. It was clean last night before I went to bed.

Weezie2, the quilt is adorable! That is one happy little girl. She is such a happy camper. Hope you enjoyed your Minion Movie.

LG, that sounds like a good deal on corn. I always prefer the first corn of the season. It seems more tender and better tasting. And fewer bugs. Mine is $3 a dozen which isn't bad for the area.

Saturday it is the "corn lady,' an 80's lady who has sold corn from her front yard for as long as I've lived here. She sells some other produce and apples in the fall. She is a legend here. I love the organic guy who used to be a professional ballet dancer. I visit his stand as much for his stories as for his excellent produce.

PJ, sorry you have to clean. I hate it when I've been having fun. and have to get back to work. Hope the shoes come tomorrow.

SS, some days you just don't get everything done.. It is painful when you are on a streak but I refuse to be an OCW ( obsessive compulsive walker.)

Off to bed. Three of the boys are coming over tomorrow to eat and blow up fireworks.

Today's was Kami's birthday. She loves her new pillow case and quilt. It was pretty warm and muggy for an outside party but she had a great time

PJ, I paid $3 a dozen but then as I was leaving the market there was a man just getting there that had it for $2 a dozen. I know a couple of farmer's here who have it for the $2 a dozen. I plan to get a lot more as this was very good corn.

Yesterday got another wall finished, today was the last library program for us. The kids are going on a camping trip for a week or at least a few days. So that means I have no excuses not to stay home and clean our house.

LG how much did you have to pay for a dozen ears of corn. I stopped at one stand today and they wanted $6 a dozen. I left empty handed thinking that was way too much. I have gotten some good corn at the grocery store for 25 cents an ear. Not too sure this was even local fresh corn. I think they may have been reselling what they had bought somewhere else.

WG what a lovely thing to have go on in your neighborhood. I would have enjoyed seeing and hearing that marching band practice. I was in the marching band in junior high and did get to perform at a couple of the high school football games.

Sharon my shoes are in town being delivered by UPS so I might have them tomorrow or Saturday.

Good Morning.....I didn't manage to get back yesterday. Had a wonderful lunch with my friend. She is an artist and has made all the Santas that I have. Then I went for a pedicure. The gal that usually does my pedicure left the salon that I go to. So another gal did them and I'm not as happy with her. May have to find someone else to do it.

Went out this morning early and got some groceries and then stopped by the farmer's market and picked up 3 dozen ears of corn to freeze. I also got 2 quarts of blueberries. I made some blueberry muffins and froze the rest. I need to get my church ironing done today too.

WG, that is awesome about the band. I can hear the band from our house when they are practicing on the football field. Eleven grandkids.....WOW!!! That's a lot of kids! Glad you enjoyed them.

SS, I did look at the grill and it is perfect for travel. emoticon on the weight loss! You are doing so great. I'm getting myself back on track with my eating.

Tammy, your 5K sounds great. I think that they do one of those around here.

Muffins just came out of the oven and I need to get my clothes out of the dryer too!

See y'all later.

Good Morning!
I was so busy yesterday I didn't get time to put my normal steps in. By the time I got to DS's house they were pretty much done. I helped carry a few things in. Then my son grilled burgers for all that helped. We sat around and visited for awhile. By the time we got home it was bedtime. No, I didn't walk which was my choice.

This morning we have Community coffee. Norm went to work early but will take a break for coffee. My son has the house all moved but has to go back and move the stuff from his garage. He may or may not call for help.

Tammy - I have never done a 5k so I am anxious to hear how you do. I know it's not your first so have fun!

WG - I can just picture the band marching up and down your street and it brings a big smile to my face. Yes, we can hook a bigger propane tank to that grill for our winter home and yet for when we are just on a shorter trip the smaller the bottle of propane would be perfect.

LG - sorry you didn't make it to the shoe store. Perhaps next time! Now that you know the med was causing the stomach pain, have they put you on a different med? It's amazing how many side effects are listed for any med. No wonder I don't want to take prescription drugs.

Hi, Seesters!

Rain here again... emoticon

SS, you are doing so well! My weight is down, too! emoticon

I did make it to the She Cave yesterday - some straightening of a TON that needed to be done, and almost completed a reversible headband as per the Crafty Gemini. I thought of PJ's making headbands for future DIL when I was working on it. The only think I don't have done is the elastic, which I bought last night.

I am doing a 5K Saturday evening - a Light Up the Night event out at the school district that I retired from. I am excited about it, and hope it isn't raining!

LG, glad you liked the peach cobbler.

Good Afternoon!
It's been a busy day for me today so far. First up was water aerobics. Then it was weight club time. My weight recorder couldn't be there today nor could the Activity Director but I managed just fine by myself. I weighed in with a 4.4 lb loss, however, 3.5 was last week's loss so I actually only lost .9 more in the past week. I'm just glad my scale is still going down. I am going to make my goal of 170 by Sept 2nd!

Now I have to run out to my DS's new house. Norm has been helping them move all day and I better go do my 2 cents worth!

Good morning Seesters. I was just serenaded by the local high school marching band. They are practicing for the parade on Friday when we celebrate the Pioneers coming to the area.

It was fun. The band first went down the street north of me then came past my house. It is a good place to practice marching as the high school is about a mile away and the streets are pretty quiet this time of day. I think they went past my house as the neighbors across the street are big band supporters. Their sons all played in the band and he came out and waved at the group.

SS, the grill looks great. Does it have the possiblity of a propane tank? That would be nice but not necessary. The little bottles are not expensive and you can do that without having to bring something big with you.

Nala looks wonderful after her grooming. You are certainly enjoying her. You have definitely made a good decision to have a new furry baby.

LG, I have a hard time hitting those quilt stores and not buying something. I love the GPS on my phone, but sometimes even that one doesn't make it "easy." Glad you are not having pain any more. Hope it doesn't make the arthritis worse. It is quite a while til the doctor appointment but not long from the doctor's point of view.

Tammy, I'm glad you are able to help SD. Hope you make it to the cave today. I'm glad you don't have to water the garden. What is happening with travel plans?

Weezie2, hope the Minions were great for you. I'm sure I'll get the video as the Grands enjoy them as well.

Ended up with 11 of the grands over the course of the day. It was fine and we had a good time. Miss McGullicudy is still prickly and she is 16 months old. She doesn't spend enough time with me but we are working on it. She needs to be comfortable in my space to let me be with her.

Gotta call and fight medical bills and get some groceries for the next couple of days. Hoping to get some sewing done today. Have a wonderful day.

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks, Tammy for the wonderful recipe for peach cobbler. I made it with an Almond flour type of "bisquick". It was great and Thomas loved it and remarked about how good it was.

Meeting a friend for lunch so I'll be back later.

Good morning, Seesters!

SS, I like the grill! I am liking my ipad 2, 32G as well. So far I am just "playing", but I don't consider that a bad thing.

My fitness minutes are back up this week, and that is a good thing.

We had some rain yesterday evening so no watering again! I wish I could send some to some of the rest of you who are in drought conditions.

I did make it to the She Cave for about 20 minutes yesterday and repaired a teeshirt sleeve for SD. LOL! Perhaps I can be there longer today and it will involve quilting of some type.

Have a good day and hello to all!

Went to Indy but didn't get to the shoe store.... emoticon We went 30 miles north of Indianapolis to pick up 2 license plates and by the time we got them and started back south, it was lunch time and so we stopped. Found another shop and went there and then we were told about another that is downtown. Ended up we couldn't find the shoe store and couldn't find the exit to get off the interstate to go downtown. I was tired and we decided to try next week. I did get 4 license plates.

Tammy, I can understand the screen issue with the ipad. That would make sense.

WG, hope you enjoyed your day with the grands.

Wanted to let you all know that I didn't take any Meloxican today and no pain! Talked to my brother who is a pharmacist and he said that it does that. Hoping that the doc can figure out a med that I can take without pain.

See y'all tomorrow.

I've got some Kami time this morning. My son is on vacation and we're all going to see the Minion movie. It should be fun.

I need to get sewing this afternoon and finish Kami's quilt. Her birthday is Thursday. I'll be sure to post pictures of her with it.

Good morning Seesters. Today is a "grand day." Fabio is coming for the day. The Dragon is coming for a while this morning, and Miss Belle, the Gunslinger, and Enterprise are coming over this afternoon. It will be interesting but they won't all be there for the entire day so it should be manageable.

The neighbors play tennis every evening except Sunday. We've been noticing that their balls hit my house with some regularity. A few weeks ago, my garage window was shattered. No proof but I'm doing some association...

Tammy, glad you are reading. It is helpful to at least understand a bit. Since there really isn't a cure but treatments, it is a chronic problem, much like diabetes or heart disease. I'm glad you are enjoying your Ipad. I have a tablet (well, a couple of them) and do enjoy them. I don't often do the Sparking on the tablet, but I never do it on my phone, so there may be a reason. I do get my "morning points" on the tablet when I get up as I don't want to forget. I do a lot of other things on it, though, including shopping, reading, and Fabio and I read his "cookie book" several times when he visits.

LG, hope you find the shoes to be comfortable. SS has raved about them so much, it is tempting for all of us. I bought some Vionic shoes as they are supposed to help the knees. They "realign" the knees so when I wear them I have pain for two days later. I'm hoping when I get my knees fixed that they will be more friendly as the shoes themselves are very comfortable.

Weezie1, hope today is less stressful. Hopefully you are getting some grand time in. I hope Ava does well in her new locale. It has to be hard to have her go. Is she planning of some weekends with you?

PJ, hope dinner was fun. It really isn't about the food anyway when you meet friends. It is just a vehicle to visit. Your time with your new grands sounds like a great deal of fun.

Have a spectacular day. I am loving the Fitbit postings on FB. It is sounding like a lot of fun.

Good Morning!

This morning we dropped Nala off for her first grooming session. They are just giving her a puppy cut, more to start getting her used to grooming. I will post a picture after we get her back later today.

Norm is working again! It appears the park will take as many hours as they can get before we head out for the winter. He is enjoying it right now knowing he can stop whenever he wants. It is putting extra cash in our pockets to get things we have been putting off. This week he put new tires on Barney. We used his money to buy the two new chairs that we are still waiting for them to arrive.

We have our eye on a smaller grill to tote while traveling. The last couple years he has actually brought our full size grill but that just is overkill.

Has anyone had any experience with this grill?

Tammy - I've been thinking of getting an iPad. Keep us informed on how you like it. What kind did you purchase?

LG - good luck on the shoes! I am curious to know if your normal shoe size works. Remember I ordered my normal size and had to return them as they felt too short. The replacement shoes are a much better fit at 1/2 size larger.

PJ - how did eating out with the girls work for you? I know how difficult it is when we eat out but darn! I'm just not ready to give it up completely.

Hi, Seesters!

LG, the ipad screen is easier for me to see than the smartphone. I enjoyed playing with it yesterday evening.

I am doing a 5K this coming Saturday evening which benefits St. Jude's Children's Hospital. It is out at the school district that I retired from and a former student organizes it. I haven't done one since this time last year. I did three total last year; I'm probably not going to make that this year. My BF wants to do one this fall with me. I thought that I would do more as time went on, but that hasn't happened yet.

I am a couple of chapters into the book. It helps to know that I am "doing" something.

I saw on FB yesterday evening that Toddler Jane's family is considering her going to preschool. After their move, they live in a smaller town and actually are quite close to the school. I think it would be a good move. I think sometimes about her being medically fragile and being more exposed to viruses, etc, but of course that happens regardless when big brother - going into first grade now - goes to school.

Have a good day!

OK, I'm on the run this morning....I'm heading to Indy to pick up license plates and look for those shoes that SS has been telling us about. Hope to get a pair of them if they work for me.

emoticon Weezie!! Know that you are very busy with work. Be gentle with yourself!

Tammy, I've considered buy an iPad but haven't done it. I just don't think I want to be that connected. Rachel has one but she has said that she uses her phone more.

WG, the solution to your sprinkler system is great! I've had this gut problem before and I'm sure that it is med induced. Meloxican is famous for this. I have a girl friend who is also on it and she only takes it every 3rd day due to the gut pains. If after 2 weeks the pain isn't gone then I'm sure that the dr. will do some tests. She is very good about that.

PJ, hope you enjoyed your girls night out!!

Tammy, I'm sure that you'll learn from the books. Not easy to deal with. emoticon

SS, emoticon on winning your Weekend challenge!! You are doing so emoticon

PJ, yes, I am still taking piano lessons. I've been there more often than usual this summer because our travel plans changed.

I'm posting this from my new iPad! I don't know if I posted about it here, but I decided to get one if I could get a good deal. When I asked my DS in FL about it, she sold me one that she had never updated her first one to. I was quite pleased with the price and it just arrived. emoticon

I am meeting girlfriends for dinner tonight at Cheddars. It will be my first time eating out since I starting losing again. But I did go online and look at the menu so I know what I am going to order. Unless they have some other healthy specials when we get there.

I took the boys to another library program this morning. Pretty goofy but entertaining. A magician that did a program on super heroes.

LG sorry to hear you are having tummy problems and that you have to wait so long to see your doctor. It just doesnít see fair that a medication that works for one thing messes up your system in another way. Lets us know if you get the new shoes.

Tammy hope the books give you some insight and answers. Are you still taking piano lessons? Or are you taking a break from them. I thought of you yesterday I had 3 apples that needed to be eaten and since I am trying to stay away from most fruit I made DH an apple cobbler last night. He didnít object one bit imagine that.

WG glad you found a solution to your sprinkler and Wifi would be convenient. I can relate to DS trying to find things to keep the kids busy. When the grands were here I had some things lined out but the activity books did not go over at all. So next time I need to come up with some other ideas and definitely more to do if they spend the night. This is new for us too.

Good afternoon. It has been raining so I'm glad I didn't water today. Still having trouble with the sprinkler controllers. I've fixed that and bought a new controller. This one is wi-fi and I can control it from my phone. I love that feature.

SS, congrats on your steps yesterday. Certainly a "rest day" is in order. 10,000 today? I still believe in moderation and exercise people suggest a "rest day" every few days. Perhaps just focusing on a different set of muscles? I hate giving up the walking, though.

LG, so sorry you are having "gut" problems. That is so painful. I know. It could be the Meloxicam, but might be something else. Hope it isn't the arthritis med. It is so helpful for you to function.

Tammy, glad you found a book to help you understand. I think it is so hard to live with the illness both from the family and person's view. It has to be awful to have those mood swings and not understand that isn't normal. I'm glad she can work and keep her job. It isn't possible for everyone. I do believe that families suffer the most from the illness effects as it is the "safe place" to unload.

Off to do laundry and cleaning. I worked the weekend and the grands were here a lot. DIL needed some time over the weekend and DS needs to step up. He had issues with the kids not having enough to do but it is in many ways his responsibility to entertain them. He needs to take them outside and do things with them and he hasn't figured that out yet.

I'll have to start suggesting things they can do to help out in the yard and maybe things they can do inside.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi, Seesters!

I have seen FB advertisements that our countywide food pantry which provides clothing as well is out of children's clothing. Maybe this is families getting ready for back to school? I really wish our pantry was open 5 days per week or at least included a Saturday - it is only open until noon MWF, which doesn't seem very helpful for families in need.

LG, sorry about your belly and sorry that you have to go of the Meloxican while waiting emoticon

I need to look up those Gravity Defier [sp?] shoes. SS, didn't you say they had a good return policy? I am just always hesitant to get anything but my "clodhopper" New Balance shoes for the support that I have to have.

I do appreciate the thoughts/prayers for DD; I checked out a book from the library that I just happened to think to see if they had - An Unquiet Mind - which is about a bipolar woman who has written a lot of the medical literature concerning various mental illnesses. An advanced degree in spite of the diagnosis and before all the medical advancements was something that I thought would be an eye opener. There is also a sequel to it that I checked out out as well. I "think" it will help me to feel as if I am doing something to try to understand from someone's view who has such while not enabling DD. I spend a lot of time thinking about it as well as trying not to think about it, so I am thinking this will help ME. emoticon
Thanks for "listening". emoticon

Now I think I will go to the She Cave and sew. I spent only 15 minutes in there yesterday, but I felt all the better for it.

Afternoon,

I spent the morning in chapel and at St. Vincent de Paul. We've been very busy and our supply of used clothing for babies is way down. We've had to quit removing any that has been there over 5 weeks or we could be out of clothing.

Had to call the doctor's office this morning...my gut has been hurting since Friday. They seem to think (as do I) that it is due to Meloxican (for my joints). It can really be hard on the gut. So now I have to go off until I can get into see her which isn't until Aug. 5th!! Can't believe that she'd go on vacation..... emoticon emoticon I know I'm bad!!

We are going to Indy tomorrow and I'm going to look at these shoes and see if I can get a pair. Also going to look for license plates.

I really need a nap. It is so hot here but I'm not complaining at all. In fact, I think I'll go outside for a while.

See y'all later.

Happy Monday!

PJ - I hope you enjoy your new shoes. The ones with purple trim caught my eye but I went with the white trimmed in pink. However, I wish they were black as the white get dirty so quickly.

I walked so much yesterday that I'm a little sluggish this morning. Oh, what the heck, I'm sluggish every morning as I'm not a morning person. I reach my peak early afternoon or evening.

Rainy here today. Just finished a WATP to get some steps in. But there is still no way her 2 mile walks register 2 miles. I have to get out later to get groceries no choice today as we are out of milk (soy and regular) and veggies and fruit for DH.

Sharon I ordered a pair of Gravity Defyer Super Walk shoes this morning. I was just looking around and Shoebuy had 20% off so I ordered a pair of black with purple trim ones. It seems most of my workout clothes are black so I like getting black ones.

After getting groceries I plan to paint on the lady bug. Enjoy your day it seems many of us are having rainy weather today.

LG - My steps are great for me but not compared to others! I was happy to get over 12,000 a couple days this week! I'm glad you had fun with your friends. We are going on a 3 day weekend to our best friend's daughter's house on the other side of the state on Friday. We are celebrating our friends 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday but their DD has invited us for the whole weekend. Looking forward to it. I'm bring a salad for the party on Saturday that I can eat. The rest of the time we'll be on our own for eating. They have a beautiful pool so I expect some swimming if the weather cooperates.

We had a great time last night with our friends. We haven't gotten together like this for probably 10 years. We were all to busy living life...kids, grandkids, work, etc. We talked about going on a mini-vacation like we used to do.

I'm loving all the license plates. Thanks to all of you for helping us with this!

Tammy, I'm going to try the cobbler tonight!!

Weezie1, want to see a pic of your bag. And I agree that you do need to do something just for you!!

Weezie2, we are having all this horrible weather and I know that you are having it too. Stay safe.

SS, you must be getting lots of steps!! I'm in a steps challenge on another team and I'm going for 14K per day. Didn't make it yesterday as we did a lot of sitting and talking!! Imagine that!
WG, glad that DS is getting stronger every day.

PJ, love the license plate.

Need to get to the grocery store.

Hello Seesters!

Another hot day on tap. Not much on our agenda for today. I think I'll be doing a lot of my walking inside with the a/c. Good old WATP dvd's will help me. I'm in third place in the Weekend Warrior Challenge in FitBit. I'm not giving up but the guy in first place is WAY AHEAD of us ladies!

Good morning, Seesters!

I am checking in early since after breakfast I will be out walking before the heat is too bad.
The peaches are all frozen and perhaps next year I will buy two of the big boxes instead of one as I now have some idea of what it takes to process/freeze them. I keep talking about visiting the She Cave and it has not happened yet, and hasn't for weeks now.

DH is better but has a monster-sized bruise. He still needs the pain relievers and he really isn't one to take them if he doesn't need them.

Thanks for the thoughts/prayers for DD.

Have a good day!

Good Evening. Home from work. An OK day but very busy. It was a long day for me but life is that way.

Weezie2, Kami is adorable! She is having so much fun and surely is a treasure. It is so kind of you to share her photo. She will love her quilt.

Weezie1, so glad you stopped by. Looking forward to seeing pictures of all the bags.

Tammy, glad Joe is feeling better. Sorry DD is having struggles. Will keep her close to my heart.

PJ, that is amazing that you are so quiet that you can paint and no one notices.

I've got three plates. Two are on order so I won't send photos yet. I'll probably send them before that happens.

Gotta go to bed. The boys are here. DIL took the girls to a wedding dinner. I'm sure that was appreciated. I opted not to go but sent a gift. Nice neighbor boy. There is an ulterior motive for her going. DS is getting stronger every day.

Gotta go. Computer is cranky. Have a good night.

We had thunderstorms and a tornado watch as well this afternoon. I think it cleared up about 4. That made it much nicer to go to mass tonight without dodging the rain.

I have until Thursday to finish Kami's Minion quilt. That little girl is going to go CRAZY when she opens it. McDonalds had a full size minion at their store today. Kami had her picture taken with him too. She's going to see the movie on Tuesday. She's one happy little girl.

I can picture Ava and Kami playing together. Maybe someday we can make that happen and meet halfway. You'll love the new tote bag pattern I bought. I plan on having one finished for show and tell in Shipssee next year. It's your job to make sure I don't fill it with fabric...lol

Have a Great Weekend!

Evening all,

Well, I should be on the treadmill but I don't have it in me tonight. It is stormy here and very dark. We have a tornado watch in effect but I don't recall til what time. Hmmmmm.........

Been a busy couple of days and got Ava last night but today she went to spend the night with Kellan at his house. They were both so very excited. So we'll get her back tomorrow afternoon and keep til mom gets done with work. This move to GR ought to make things interesting for her and she starts in Holland the first of the month so won't be even coming this way. I'm biting my tongue.

Weezie, Kami is adoreable. I wish were were closer so the girls could play. They'd have such fun!! Did you get her quilt done for her birthday?

Ladies, the license plates are such fun. I have one more store here to check and just haven't had a chance to get there. I need to lay mine out and see what I have as well. It'll be fun to do something with them.

Tammy, the cobbler recipe looks yummy. Wonder if DH would indulge with me?

PJ and SS, I enjoy watching you two battling back and forth on your steps on the fitbit. I've improved but can't keep up with you all. I did well one morning earlier in the week and got 10k before 6 a.m. This was the day I thought I had jury duty but only learned that I was a day off. I was suppose to be there Tuesday, not Wednesday. What a dork. They were very nice and now I'll get rescheduled for another opportunity in October. Terrible time but there is no good time it seems these days.

Have been trying to get a little more time in my sewing room these days. I'm working on a bag which is gonna be huge. This is for ME! I can't remember the last time I made one for myself. I need something very large so I will keep at it. Will share when done.

Now I've agreed to sit and watch a movie with DH. We haven't done this in a long time. So I will say good night and try to check back tomorrow. emoticon

We got rain last night that was not predicted and more later as well as a chance the next few days.

I managed to get the second coat on the 2nd wall before anyone woke up at DS's house. That was 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 teenagers and 3 dogs all slept through my hour + of painting. OK by me. No one was in my way and it was quiet.

Now I am back home doing laundry and will work on the bowling ball ladybug.

The plate I picked up today.
