Hi all. Home from work. Microwave just beeped so it is chicken and roasted cauliflower for me tonight. Some strawberries for dessert.

Working again tomorrow then the two oldest granddaughters have a sleep over planned. I'll pick them up on the way home and we will get dinner and cereal for breakfast. Hopefully they will have a wonderful time. They have plans.

LG and the others in the path of the storm, stay safe and warm.

Yes, we got 6" of new snow last night but Louisville got 12". I-65 had 200 semis stopped and the road was closed. Had to bring in the National Guard. And that number isn't a typo!! I've been baking and going to the sewing room as soon as my friend comes by to pick up the cinnamon rolls I made for her mom. She has lung cancer and they are trying to entice her to eat. She is doing better but prayers would be appreciated.

Sharon, enjoy your visit with your friend. Won't be too long and we'll be in Shipshe!! Can't wait to see everyone again!

WG, prayers for your DIL. Must be awful for her along with your son and children.

Tammy, emoticon

Now I'm off to the sewing room!

Morning!

Cold and windier this morning but should warm up quickly. I intend to do laundry today so the couple of outfits that fit me are clean for this weekend! I am looking forward to going to Yuma overnight on Sat morning to visit my Spark Friend, Ruthann. Poor Norm has to sit through all the girl talk but he doesn't mind. He goes off with Bailey often and takes along a good book!

I see LG got snow last night. My SIL posted on FB that they got 11 1/2 inches in Madisonville, KY overnight. Very unusual for them! For everyone in the track of this latest Winter Storm, be very careful shoveling out. I have heard way too often of people having heart attacks while shoveling. It's one of the reason's we come south after Norm's heart issues. I don't want him doing such hard exercise.

HI everyone. Had the little boys for a bit this morning. DS went swimming. Then he came and sat and visited. I think he didn't want to go home. Finally, the 4 year old said it was time to go. They left and I ran errands.

I got the blueprints for Mom's house copied and sent a digital copy to the new owners. I'll drop off the paper ones a few days, but they are planning on taking out some bearing walls and doing some other work, so I'd like to give them a bit of a hand.

Got some veggies and fruit. I miss shopping sometimes, but it is a lot cheaper. I want to get some freeze dried green beans to munch on. They are softer than dehydrated ones and easy to transport. Munchies are fun.

Saw DIL who is prickly today. She is still very manic. Can't hold still, thoughts disjointed. DS has to go back to work this week, probably tomorrow, so I don't know what will happen.

LG, sorry you are still paying for the Crohns flare. I know a lot of people with it but most of them are not careful with their diets and are always flaring. Drug use is pretty rampant with a lot of folks.

SS, I agree with you about "diet" foods. They are still a portion controlled item and it is hard sometimes to keep to the one serving. My sister had a bowl that was exactly 1/2 cup and she had a dish every niight. The bars are a lot of calories and even without sugar, they are pretty rich.

Tammy, glad you got off early for Spring Break. Now to enjoy yours Hope the weather clears so you can leave soon.

Off to bed soon. I had roasted cauliflower and chicken for dinner. Now I can sleep in peace. Have a great day.

I had a fun day. Kelly met me with Claire at the nursing home so mom finally got to hold her newest great granddaughter. Needles to say mom was in seventh heaven emoticon
I stayed and visited until it was time to pick up one of my nephews at school.

Temps are dropping overnight so I plan on staying home and getting the rest of my steps in here.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Well, Sharon....no such luck...it is snowing and it is blowing very hard. Temps are dropping too.

Not sure that I'll have a weigh loss this week. With the Crohn's flare up on Monday all I've wanted to do is eat. Yesterday wasn't too bad but today I've had 4 oatmeal/raisin cookies! emoticon What the hell is my problem. But now the cookies are gone...out of the house so I should be OK. I'm back on track as of dinner tonight. And no snacks tonight!!

Hello, Seesters!

I went to work and then the three campuses that WERE open out five total closed at 10 a.m., so one class took Exam 2 before Spring Break and the other two will have theirs after Spring Break. I then proceeded to return home, prepare lunch, and read and actually fell asleep reading. I haven't done that in ever so long; I must have needed it. Regardless, my Spring Break began a few hours earlier than expected. Now to get out of here and to FL in a few days...

I have done NO fitness today...

I have supper mainly prepared, just some finishing touches. The turkey breast that I baked yesterday plays a major role in our supper.

Have a good afternoon/evening!

Whew! Finally slowing down and finding time to chat! I'm starting another Challenge in the RV team and it takes a lot of my time to get it set up and figuring out what to motivate everyone with for mini Challenges. So you girls here that are also on the RV team - be prepared as I've been putting time in for all of us.

I also danced with Richard and walked with Leslie this morning.

I made a nice dinner of ham, sweet potato and cole slaw. We find it works better for us to eat our main meal at noon time and then eat a lighter supper. I finally found PB2 in the store last week so I have been having fun experimenting with it and the Chia Seeds I also bought. I like the Atkins and other bars but I think they stall my weight loss so I'm avoiding them for awhile just to see.

PJ - I can't believe the weather you are having this year. For whatever reason, our temps have been warmer than normal. Our past weekend was cool for us but it is warming back up quickly to the 80's. I hope you find PB2. Although I'm having fun now, I can't see it ever replacing my Jif Extra Crunchy.

LG - I'll keep that ice cream in the back of my mind for the future. When our neighbors left, they brought over a brand new Edy's Sugar Free Fudge Tracks Ice Cream. She is diabetic as well so said, here you can eat it. Well, I quickly found that I can't! Who ever eats 1/2 cup of ice cream? I told Norm to feel free and eat it so I wasn't tempted. That man can eat all that junk and he never gains weight! What's up with that? I know you have the same issue with Thomas J. I'll cross my fingers that the predictions are wrong and you don't get that much snow.

Hello, ladies!!

Well, we are to get more snow this afternoon and evening. Could be up to 10-12"!! I'm so over this weather. Got out this morning and went to the gym. Came home, had breakfast and headed to the grocery to pick things I needed to bake. I plan to bake and sew for a couple of days.

Weezie2, hope that you've been able to sew. Shoveling is no fun!

Weezie, know that you enjoyed Ava but not sure that I'd go to knitting. Good for you if you do!!

Sharon, you sure are busy!!

PJ, I know that our winter has been "different"!! I'm sure that you wish it were different from what it has been!

WG, I so enjoy hearing about your grandkids. And I know what you mean about the dishwasher! Luke used to want to help with that and with the washer/dryer. He had to be the one to push to start button on them!

Tammy, hope that you can get out and get to Florida although it ain't all that great down there. Except that my sister who lives in West Palm Beach sent me a text with their temps. Their highs will be in the mid to high 80's. She's not very nice!! emoticon

Stomach issues seem to be resolved. Still get a bit quessy at times but other than that OK.

Has anyone here every eaten Graeter's Ice Cream? My brother (from Cincinnati) sent us 6 pints all different flavors at Christmas. Thomas and I were going thru the big freezer in the laundry room and I found one that is Blackberry/Chocolate chip. OMG!! That is the most awesome ice cream I've every eaten. But their Peanut Butter/Chocolate Chip is very close behind! With Crohn's, I'm really not supposed to eat it but a spoonful now and then doesn't hurt me.If you ever get the chance to taste it, do!!

Got to run.....

Good afternoon Seesters. The two little boys are down and the Gunslinger is watching a movie. It is a little down time. The boys will be up soon, so there is not time for more than a load of laundry and a bit of cleaning in the kitchen.

The two little boys need a lot of attention when they are awake. They don't necessarily want to be held unless I'm doing something then they think they should help me. Fabio helped empty the dishwasher this morning and I'll be washing a couple of spoons and a scraper after he leaves. He had a great time, though.

Enterprise is just mobile enough to get into mischief and not wise enough to understand "no."

The Gunslinger is pretty easy. He spent the morning drinking his Miralax in a water bottle. He was easy.

No sewing yet, Weezie. I've got a couple of doll skirts done and have a doll blanket to make for Miss McGullicudy as it is her first birthday on Thursday. Hoping I can get it done. I've got a few projects I need to get done soon. I'll have to do something soon or it will just make me crazy.

I'm glad the kids got moved but it is so hard when they aren't feeling well and the weather is bad. I so hope they enjoy their new home. It will be good to have space for the boys. Is it closer to their work or farther?

Enjoy your Ava night. It is hard but the time is so short, I know you don't resent it.

SS, I know what you mean about the dog. Mine is 13 and I'm not sure what I'll do. She won't make it until I retire and I'm not sure I want to deal with another dog until then. I'm not planning a lot of travel so dog sitters isn't a big problem. I've a couple of kids who will watch her although none of my children own a dog. When I've traveled, the kids have taken her for a night or two but my dog prefers to be home, so they will come and see her here.

Weezie2, hope you enjoyed your sewing day.

Tammy, I'm glad you are available for the dog sitting duty. It is an interesting road you walk with the steps but you always look for the positive and try to make it work. I'm glad you could change your plans to work for your life. Are you still leaving Thursday?

The storms are always a challenge. I usually stay home and avoid the stores when a storm is upon us. I don't like slogging through the muck. But I have stuff around the house and won't starve.

PJ, I hope the weather turns good soon. It would be nice to enjoy it and have nicer weather when you head home.

I'm off to put a load into the laundry then I'll hit the sewing machine for a bit. Always so much to do. It snowed last night and this morning. About 6 inches. It is snowman snow and is gorgeous. It's March. It won't last all that long.

Have a wonderful evening. Hi to TB, Marianne, Becky, Jo, Judy.

LG this has just been a strange unusual year down here for weather. I hope that next year it will be better. There have only been a few days where we didnít have a space heater on at all times.
Glad the Crohns didnít act up too long. Take care.

Weez glad the kids got moved but what a horrible time between weather, sickness and working. Your not working time will be here before you know it.

Tammy your beans sound good. We still have ľ of turkey that I need to cook in the next few days before it gets freezer burned. We did some inventory of things in our freezer this morning.

Sharon Iím anxious for the comparison between the Flex and Charge. Let us know. I agree about the pets no more for us as long as we are traveling. But it doesnít stop us from going oooh and aaah when we see cute puppies.

Everyone in the stormy areas be careful.

Morning!

Our rain has moved out and we are back to sunny skies although much cooler. Low 60's today and working back up to the 80's by the weekend. After Dancing with Richard and Walking with Leslie yesterday, I'm ready to get outside and walk. Plus I'm on the last disc of my audio book so curious to see how it ends.

Tammy - your SD is lucky that you are willing to take Tank dog when necessary. I wish we had someone that we felt comfortable to take Bailey once in awhile. Our kids would but they have so many pets and don't live too close so it's not ideal. It's one of the reasons we won't be getting another dog while we are still traveling.

Weezie2 - sounds like a perfect day to stay in warm and safe!

Weezie - the retreat sounds fun to me but yes, a bunk bed probably is not as comfortable as your home bed. Yes, I got the Flex but my friend in Yuma just got the Charge. We are spending the weekend with her in Yuma this weekend so I'm afraid I will regret my choice and wish I had spent the extra for the FitBit Charge - I'll let you know! Have a fun evening with Ava while you can. How far away is her mother talking about moving?

WG - I don't worry too much about Norm and his slowing down. He's always been overactive and driving me crazy. Now it's like living with a normal person.

LG - sorry about the stomach issues, not pleasant I'm sure! Nor dental problems. I hope your repair isn't too expensive but gosh darn, it's so important to have a nice smile!

Hi, Seesters!

LG, I hope I am able to get to FL to walk in that sand! We are postponing our original planned departure a couple of days, and have contacted the owner of the charter gulf fishing trip to postpone that until next week, and have contacted the RV park to tell them we plan to come in a couple of days later.

SD works on a heart surgery team, and another RN friend on the team had a cardiac incident on Friday night. The friend is doing better, but SD will have a lot more "on call" times now for a bit; she got called in last evening on her day off and we had Tank Dog overnight, which was not a problem. He did well.

I am cooking navy beans in the crockpot and have a turkey breast in the oven for future meals - it makes me feel quite productive. I will probably feel more productive when I begin some other daily chores here in a bit.

Have a good day, friends!

I think we're in the same storm system. I woke up to a couple of inches of snow on the ground. By the time the dog was ready to come in it turn to a freezing rain. It's going to be a great day to stay in and sew. Next week Wednesday it's suppose to be 50....we'll see.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Good morning sisters!

Well I have to say this past weekend's retreat was pretty amazing and glad I attended and yes, even spent the night. That was the hard part sleeping on these bunk beds but I did it but has taken me two days to catch up. LOL

Kids got moved but also both little ones got the crud and now mom and dad not feeling great. What a way to have to move. Sub zero temps, snow, sick kids, and trying to continue to work. These are the times I think it would be nice NOT to be working so I could help more with the little ones. Oh well, that time will come.

Tonight is an Ava night so that will be fun. This weekend we celebrate Kellan's birthday since his birthday falls in the middle of the next next week. He's so excited to be 4. I would be too!

WG, hope your free day was a good one. Did you get to sew at all?

LG, I'm sorry about your stomach crud yesterday and hope you're better this morning.

SS, glad you are walking and noticing the tan from your fitbit. Did you get the Flex?

PJ, I hope your time away is going well and understand about Frank feeling like he's getting aging faster than expected. You both are very active so it isn't easy for any of us.

We're suppose to have some fun weather today. It is cold now which is going to turn from snow, to sleet, to ice, to rain. May be a bit dicey later in the day. Hoping it warms up enough so the commute home is not bad. I'm ready for this winter to be over.

Marianne, Jo, Weezie, Tammy, TB, Judy, hope you all are well.

Need to scoot. Wishing you all a great day!

Good afternoon. Today is my free day so I scheduled my "wellness" appointment" for today. Fabio also came today so DIL watched him for a few then we went home. He is sleeping and I'm ready to work on my day.

SS and PJ, I do understand the slowing down thing. It is important to be active no matter what. We all slow down and have less stamina and less ability to do things. Those who decline the least are those who regularly work all the muscle groups.

My sister has degenerative disk disease and has done for a long time. She has worked hard to keep her muscles strong and her joints flexible. It's working for her but takes a lot of dedication. I'm a lot less dedicated but should be more so as I have arthritis and she doesn't.

It's cold today (I'm complaining about 40's) and I'm ready to curl up with a blanket and a book Have a great day. Gotta move of I'm sleeping.

You are so right about exercising. I was told years ago when I was diagnosed with RA. If you don't move, you won't move. I see Thomas at times being what I call "lazy". He watches TV for hours and then wonders why he is tired! He has lots of projects to work on. He goes in spurts!!

Got up this morning with stomach issues.....Crohn's kicked in and I really felt rotten for a while. But now gone. Had to go to the dentist....one of my veneers came off. She told me that she is going to look into some thing different. I see $$$!!! Did go to SVDP for a couple of hours. But haven't done much since I've been home. I might bake a Sour Cream coffee cake for the freezer. I've also got a recipe for some brownies bars that I'd like to try but would have to go to the grocery first.

PJ, maybe next year you should just stay at the first place you went to as the weather seemed better.

Tammy, hope that you get lots of walking in the sand!!

PJ - it is so easy to stop walking! I still argue with myself every day as to whether I should go. I doubt that I'll be walking today. Our wind has picked up and the rain has begun. I won't go outside in this weather. So I'll be using one of my DVD's. I sure see Norm slowing down as well as Frank. Yesterday when I came back from my walk, Norm was laying on the couch sleeping! That never happens. When he woke up I asked if he was sick. He said No, he was just tired.

I just had to chuckle as I looked down at my arm and I have a pale band where my FitBit normally is. I have it off charging right now. Obviously all my outdoor walking is giving me some sun! I used to get really tan every summer but since Norm's skin cancer issues, I've backed way off. I've even had people comment that I was awful pale for being in the sun year round.

Literally made myself get out and walk this morning. The weather is cloudy but not raining right now anyway. I think the dreary weather has some what got me depressed and the only thing that will change is to give myself the kick I need to get up and get moving so that is what I did. Besides that I was really scared if I went another day without moving I would fall into a habit of not exercising at all and I donít want that.

I told Frank this morning he might have to take me somewhere fairly local this summer at a fishing destination that he has wanted to go. I am seeing him slowing down in the last year he doesnít do the fishing in bad weather no matter what thing anymore. He also mentioned to our friends last week that he seemed to be aging faster then he thought he should. I know there isnít anything that can be done for his neck and spine disc degenerating problems but walking wouldnít hurt.

It's overcast and 72 here today. No rain as predicted. We went to see a movie and then home to a pot of Norm's chili. Now I have to go get out and get some steps in. I have less than 2,000 right now!

Woke up to 4" more of snow. I'm so over it. I'm so tired of looking at white that I'm thinking of throwing out my white sheets, towels, clothes, etc.!!!! emoticon I'd love to color all the snow with green dye!!

We decided not to try to go to the museum today. Roads are just not good.

Brooke's team got beat in the final game...don't remember the score but not too close. She fouled out. Very sad. But we get a break before Carmen begins playing on the travel team and Luke plays baseball.

I've read all your posts just not much time to comment today. I'm still sharing Thomas' computer because I can't make up my mind what I want to do. I might just wait until my tax refund comes in and that way I won't have to hit my "stash" so hard!!

Need to finish laundry and maybe do some baking. emoticon

WG: The clothes worked really well. There were times when I felt too warm. But the cold air is another story. I think I need one of those diving rebreathers that filters warm, humid air back to you. Too bad they cost several thousand dollars :-(

Sharon: Congrats on the WI. I'm feeling a little less intimidated by the video editing program, if that's any measure of success.

Lily: I hope Brooke's team did well in the next game.

PJ: lol - well, I'm a long way from being a film editor but I think I learned some things today. But there is so much more ... one step at a time, right?

Tammy: You look warm but you really need to get your nose covered up emoticon emoticon I find winter projects to be helpful but nothing really takes the place of fresh air and sunshine. By this time of year, no matter what I do, cabin fever starts to set in.

Hi Seesters. The dog is sure that I should be paying attention to her and I will in a minute.

SS, glad the scale is going down. Sounds like a laid back day instead of a crazy one. Win/win for you.

LG, skinny jeans are good. Perhaps the muscle does weigh a bit more. I'm not sure I believe it when people have been working out 3 weeks and say that with a gain, but you can when you are working out regularly and have changed things up. Or it might just be whatever. Hoping the scales are kind today. Enjoy the ball game. Sorry for the loss the first game.

PJ, cabin fever is miserable. Hope the weather improves soon. It has been a crazy winter.

TB, I'm glad you were able to tend to Red without problems. Being stuck indoors is never fun. I know you got all those insulated clothes before Red but don't know how that worked out.

Tammy, so glad your DB is safe. It is disconcerting knowing something so violent happened when the details are so vague. Maybe it is time for crazy to move on. Saw the post on FB about the baby. She is beautiful.

I think a quilting project may be just the thing, or perhaps just a nice sunny or happy project. Winter is hard, especially when you can't get outside. I'm thinking that's why I've had a good year--we've had little snow and lots of sunshine.

While at work today, I doctor and I were discussing the blue/black dress thing and perception. He shared with me some research that had been done with colors. www.businessinsider.com/what-is-blue
-a
nd-how-do-we-see-color-2015-2

It was amazing. I made one of the nurses listen to the entire article as I read it. I loved the concept that color has to have a name to have any value.

I'm going to feed the dog and get my veggies in for the day. I forgot them this morning.

Have a great night all.

Another dreary rather cold day and windy here. The nice weather didnít last but just a few hours the other day. My exercise has been almost non existent this week. A bit of homesickness on my part and tired of being couped up. I need more sunshine but enough whining. Tomorrow is a new week and a new month.

WG so glad the estate money matters are finished. I have your DS and DIL in my prayers hoping that she truly gets the meds and help she needs. It is too bad they canít see that she isnít ready to be released yet. She is a good actress.

Tammy sounds like you are getting ready for the trip hopefully you will be able to leave as planned. You are bundled up for the weather. Did you make the hat you are wearing under your hood?

Sharon I am glad to hear your weight is down again. I know it was a worry to you. How much did you raise your calorie intake.? I love the quilt pictures and the fabric bowls. I have done a few of those as well as some boxes.

LG busy busy busy. Love that you were able to get into those skinny jeans that is a NSV.

TB so youíre a film editor producer now. Or at least in training. Good luck. Trial and error is how I learn best

Morning!

I am happy to report that I am seeing a new number on the scale this morning so (hopefully) I am back in to losing again. I am down 1.2 lbs from last week's WI.

Norm is helping one of our friends in the parade this morning. He has his show dog do some agility exercises and Norm has to pick up the equipment and move it on down the road for the next group of people. He'll get his exercise in for sure!

Then he has to spend the afternoon in the Woodcarving display to answer any questions.
I'm not going again today because it will be raining by then. I need to get my walking in this morning before the rain starts.

Tammy - I'm glad you enjoyed the pics of the quilts. There were indeed some beautiful quilts. I wanted to take a picture of each one, lol. It is nice as the quilting room has one of those several thousand dollar quilting machine that the women love.

TB - I'm glad you got out and could be there for Red to get a trim. Bonus (and who cares what you looked like) is no asthma problems from it. I find myself getting queasy to my stomach when trying new things out of my comfort zone with the computer. But if I take deep breathes and really think, I can usually figure it out. I think you will too!

WG - I am sorry that your DS was disappointed with the meeting. I hope your DS can find a way to let the Drs know and share his feelings without his wife's presence.

LG - I am looking for NSV and getting in to your "skinny" jeans would be a definite plus! All your exercise is paying off. I took my measurements this morning and although the scale has been at a plateau, the inches are still coming off. I lost 1.2 lbs since last week so hoping you have a loss as well.

It's Weezie's busy weekend with her retreat for RCIA. I am looking forward to see how that went for her.

Hi, Seesters!

SS, thanks for thinking of us! When you had posted about the quilts, I had thought - man, I wish I could see them - you must have sensed that! emoticon

I see that yesterday's post was prior to seeing any news - my brother only lives about 10 miles from where yesterday's mass murder occurred, and I was somewhat concerned when they weren't releasing names and I hadn't heard from DB. I did later hear from him, and he hadn't even seen the news yet. He knew the lady that survived and was hospitalized.

It is snowing here again and is to continue for hours, but will warm tomorrow and after a period of freezing drizzle/rain, shall turn to rain. At least that is what they are saying now. emoticon DD had some trouble getting back to her apartment in Branson, but she was kind enough to text me that she HAD made it without prompting on my part.

WG, how is it going with DIL being released? Was there adjustment in meds? It will be some time before their effectiveness will be known, won't it?

TB, I have decided that I need to put my houseboundedness [what a word!] to better use in the future, perhaps in the form of a winter project. I don't think I could do the handquilting that you have done, but perhaps a conscious effort of a project would help with my winter doldrums. I am glad that you were better after your time outside after being bundled.

Sharon: Those quilts are fabulous. I love the "add an image" button. It will make it so much easier to share things without posting a blog!

It looks like everyone is doing well.

I know I'm not the only one with this complaint, but - it has been SO COLD here!!! As an asthmatic, I usually hibernate at these temps but yesterday the farrier (horsey pedicurist) came to the stable. Red really needed a trim so I had to go, whether I wanted to or not. I bundled myself up so that only my eyes were showing (breathing filtered). One of the women there (she was teasing) said "hey - what's with the abominable snowman look?" But I made it through without an attack so I think I did well. We're looking at somewhat better weather over the next week. *crossing fingers*

I have been putting my housebound time to good use, though. I received my video editing software and installed it. But - when I went to upload a video from my camcorder I discovered that I needed new software to do that emoticon I did get it done, though, and have made a few tentative attempts at editing. I still have a lot of learning to do but I feel pretty good about what I've accomplished so far. Not bad for a dyed-in-the-wool-computer-phobe, I think.

Hello to everyone. I'll talk to you all soon.

Good afternoon. Watched the grands today while DS went to family meeting with his wife. He was disappointed with the outcome as his wife is very good at playing roles and she did. She has a visit with the psychiatrist this afternoon and then will probably be discharged. He is petty sure she isn't well at all.

I brought home a baby quilt I had made for Princess Purple and repaired it. I'm washing it now and will return it in a bit.

SS, glad the scale is moving in the right direction. It is funny how stressing the body often backfires. Glad you have a plan in place for the weekend. I love how much fun you have with your friends no matter where you live.

LG, fish sounds wonderful. Have a great day and wonderful day tomorrow. It is so much fun to spend time with the grands.

Tammy, glad the iron did the trick. I love getting new appliances. They are often so much better than the old one and are fun to use.

Weezie2, so glad you and your mom had that time together and you were able to fix her fair. Perms always make women feel better, especially at that age. I know that was one of the first things I did with my mom when I took her home to live with me.

PJ, hope you are having a lot of fun this week.

I'm going to get some cleaning done and prepare for the weekend. I'm working, so I stopped to get a few groceries after getting the oil changed and car inspected. Now I'm set for the year. I didn't put the inspection sticker on last year but plan to this year.

Have a wonderful day everyone. I'm going to take the quilt back then see if I can get to the sewing or SOMETHING that is productive.

WG, emoticon hope all goes well with DIL. Hopefully she will accept what the doctors tell her and "relax" and heal.

SS, some times we just have to shock our bodies. I'm thinking that I'll have to do that myself. I sneaked a peek at the scales this week and it is still sitting on 143. But did get into what I call my "skinny" jeans. So I'm losing inches and I think that is important too.

Weezie2, glad that were able to give your mom her perm and cut her hair. I really think that we all feel better when we get pampered a bit.

Tammy, glad that the tea towels are done and ready for your sister. I always feel so good when I get a project done.

Went to church this morning to help bake desserts for the fish fry tonight. They fried fish for us for lunch so I ate some of it. Hope it doesn't "kill" my chances with the scales tomorrow morning.

Brooke's tourney is tomorrow so I'll probably be gone all day. I'll try to get here some time. Sunday, I'll be at the museum. So I hope that you all have a great weekend.

Morning!
A busy fun day on the agenda today. Our festival started yesterday and the next three days has things going all the time. Norm already left to go down to the courtyard where all the action is. I think the weekend is going to be cold and rainy but it's still nice today. We are all hoping the rain holds off until after our parade in the morning. So many of the activities revolve around free food and drink. Therefore, I am staying away until I've had my healthy meals at home!

My weight has started to go down again (Thank the Lord). The last two weeks have been scary as my weight was creeping up instead of down. The more scared and stressed I got, the less I ate and worried more. I do believe I put my body in to starvation mode with the low cal totals and the walking. So I've increased my calories and took a couple rest days and I've shocked (I hope) my body in to losing again!

Weezie2 - I'm sure the perm will boost your mom's mood. Don't we all feel better with good hair.

Tammy - Good job on the towels! Your sister will love them. I hope the weather is good for traveling. Our friends across the street left on Wednesday to return home due to commitments and they were headed to MA! They did not look forward to driving across the country with some of the weather fronts. I'm content to stay put until things get better.

WG - glad the money has been dispersed and you can put that behind you. Saying a prayer for your DS and family. So hard on everyone. The nurse that took over for you will be good for the patient. It's good to see someone who has been through it and is doing well.

Hi, Seesters!

I pressed the embroidered tea towels yesterday - after needing to purchase a new iron emoticon - and they are gently folded and in their gift bag ready to take to FL, if we are able to leave MO next Thursday as we hope. Recent weather models might not allow that. DH is ready, ready, ready to go; I am not as relaxed during the actual travel, but am wonderful once I get to a destination.

Now that the tea towels are prepared for the journey, I need to get back to my quilting projects. The weekend weather sounds as if it will be a good opportunity to do so. There is also the before mentioned new iron to press seams with. emoticon

WG, I shall hope/pray for the best with the DIL. I do hope the back spasms are better QUICKLY.

Perms - I hadn't thought of the home perms in years. I haven't even had one professionally in years, but used to have one all the time.

The perm wasn't bad at all. I think it's been 15 years since I gave mom one. I used larger rods so it went pretty fast. I was finished in less than 90 minutes even with a haircut. Hopefully this will lift her spirits a little.

Just winding down before I head to bed. emoticon

Hi Seesters. So glad more came by today. It is always busy but that is why we are fabulous.

SS, I'm so glad you are still keeping the faith and staying on track with your eating and drinking habits. It works very well. I have a friend who takes a bottle of water and sips at every event. She does very well. I'm so glad you are continuing to progress.

LG, sounds like your Friday and Saturday are very busy. I love the volunteering you do. I hope the girls have good games this weekend.

Weezie2, that is a lot of work.. I remember when I was a young girl and my mother made me do her perms. I wish she had made my sister do a few. It was nasty and hard. I don't remember if we ran into her rollers when we cleaned out the house.

PJ, so glad the weather is better. Hope you get some fish. Saw that you are out walking again.

Tammy, hope your life is doing OK. I know you have a lot on your plate and sometimes need a break.

DIL called while I was at work. She was bored and wanted me to visit. I might have been able to do so but the rules are visitors every other day and I am not going to break the rule. She needs the limits that the unit has set for her so she can concentrate on healing.

Stopped by DS's home tonight to visit. He is worried that she will be able to convince the doctors she is better when she really isn't. She will be mad if they can see through her. They are experienced. They may be able to do so. The kids are happy and peaceful. No wild running around and fighting. It was very peaceful visiting tonight.

He will figure it. There is a family meeting and possible discharge tomorrow so I'm going over in the morning and staying until things are decided and he returns.

On another note, the estate money has been disbursed. I need to visit the bank tomorrow and deposit the money.

Today at work, I had a patient with a difficult diagnosis. The nurse who relieved me doesn't usually work on my unit but had experienced the same illness just a year ago. It will be wonderful for the two to discuss feelings, hopes, dreams, and other things. Not often blessings are so obvious.

Have a good sleep. I'm off to bed. Woke up at 2 am with a spasm on the other side of my back. Barely walked most of the day as it was painful. But, things get better when we keep moving and it did.

I've had a good day today. Eating and exercise is all within range. Our annual festival has started here in the resort. We went to the opening party this afternoon and I passed on beer, wine or pop. Instead I drank a nice big glass of water. I did eat one taco which was my dinner. I still had enough calories to eat some air popped popcorn this evening.

The music was good and Norm got his bird's all set up for display on Fri and Sat. He'll be busy but I won't. I will go look at all the displays and go watch the parade but I have no desire to do most of the activities. This weekend it's supposed to be in the low 60's and chance of rain so we'll see what develops.

Just popping by for a few minutes. Wanted to sew today but one of my machines (the computerized one) has a glitch in it and it won't sew. Keeps telling me to raise the presser foot (which I've done) but to no avail. So tomorrow it goes to the shop.

Weezie, enjoy Ava tonight.

Weezie2, it's been 50 years or more since I've had a home perm. WOW!! Didn't even know that you could still buy them!

PJ, glad that your weather has cleared so that Frank can go fishing and you can get out. I can't imagine what it would be like to live in that small a space!! I probably wouldn't do well.

I'm baking tomorrow morning at church again for the fish fry. I probably won't be here on Saturday as Brooke plays bb in a tourney that is over any hour away from here. It will end up being an all day affair I'm sure.

Well, I'm tired so going to sit on the couch and watch some TV!

I just finished snow blowing. Thankfully it was only 3-4 " .

Weezie, enjoy your retreat this weekend. I found them to be very uplifting. I'm long overdue for one.

I plan on giving mom a perm/ body wave tonight at the nursing home. It will be interesting to see how long it takes. It's been a really long time since I gave one. I'm not sure if it's a winter slump with mom or her arthritis acting up but she's not pinning her hair up anymore and we thought this way she'd look a little nicer when she doesn't.

I'm off to get my niece and nephew from school.

Have a Great Thursday!

Sun is shining finally so I am out walking and enjoying the sunshine. Doing some laundry while I can hang a few things outside. Frank is fishing. I am so glad the trailer was getting kind of small being trapped inside.

I talked to dad this afternoon and they have them quarantined in their apartments because of the flu. They deliver their meals so they don't get out. He seems to be doing ok.

Later I need to go get some more sunshine.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Hello, ladies!!

I know that I was missing yesterday but went to the hand surgeon to find out about what was on the incision that looks like a blister. It is a stitch! He told me to massage it and it would eventually dissolve. Also, part of my hand is still swollen...he said that would also go away but takes time. After we left there we went to my sister's and took her to lunch for her birthday (which was yesterday!). I took her a loaf of homemade bread and her present. She loved it all. Then we headed back up to Columbus for Brooke's last home game. Sort of sad. They were all introduced and they gave their mom's flowers with an angel statue. They lost the game but Brooke scored and played great.

Today has been a catch up day. Lots of laundry, etc. Still haven't gotten any sewing done. emoticon

Tammy, glad that your classes went well. Still praying for Baby Jane.

Sharon, so sorry about Bailey. It is so hard when pets get sick. Take each day at a time. When our little pup was 14 and began having kidney problems, she was diagnosed with cancer. She went down hill very fast. Very hard to make that discision but we did. I've never gotten another but maybe some day.

WG, hate back pain....hope it gets better soon. Also, will pray for DIL/DS.

Weezie, hope that Ava's mama comes to her senses and sees the wisdom of waiting a while. So happy for older DS and wife. Not easy to move in one day but we did it with Jason but it was summer and so hot we about fried!!

Hello, to TB, Becky, Marianne, Weezie2 and anyone else that I missed.

Classes went well, but the dean was called away to an unexpected task, so we rescheduled for the Wednesday after we get back from our spring break. I understand a little better what the beginning of the entire conversation was, so I guess it is nice to be held in high regard and know that my name was mentioned by present dean and backed up by the previous one that was promoted within the college. I'm just going to do as I usually do.

WG, so sorry about the family situation and I do hope they find something that helps. What a shame about the insurance - are there no ways for exceptions? I have acquaintances that cannot tolerate synthetic thyroid meds, and so their insurance pays for the "real stuff". I don't see that this would be any different. I know it seems as if DD is on a good "mix" now and just wait with my breath held almost for the day that it isn't as good.

There is a chance Baby Jane's family will be moving to a more rural area - closer to some of the rest of their family - I think the idea is that rent will be cheaper - it likely will be. This has been a very hard winter for them financially - the mother has been to the ER 2 or 3 times, the dad hasn't worked much and then his unemployment was held up for awhile. He set up a Go Fund Me account that reads as if it is for final expenses for Jane, but I really don't know what is up with that - I don't know that her situation is any more imminent than it ever was. Sigh...I may just have to override my natural introvert nature and just ask.

Have a good rest of the afternoon. Our dinner is going to be leftover chili - I am looking forward to that!
