Hi, Seesters!

I think the heavy rain is done, but the area has received 10+ inches. You may have seen pictures of the flooding all around. The school I retired from actually chose to go ahead with their prom last night; it was held at the Branson Belle. I think that was the worst decision ever in light of the rain and flooding. I did see where other schools had postponed theirs. Branson was specifically under a flash flood emergency, and I realize it was just in places and likely the roads to the boat were checked, but the area the students would have been coming from had all types of roads/low water crossings/etc. Just bad, bad decision making in my opinion and I do hope that all those kids and adults made it home safely.

Joe is a bit better this morning so that is good.

WG, sorry for drama and sorrier skill for the concern about the strange man with the girls. emoticon

SS, what a great day for your GD!

The past few rainy days should have been a great time for me to get some stuff done, but you can probably tell from the first of this sentence that it was not. Oh, well. In three weeks, the semester will be done.

HI. Tons of drama today. FB posts from DIL that are both mean and inappropriate. DS had the boys and the boyfriend watched the girls. DS didn't find out until just now. There was a fight at 2:30 on the phone about her wanting DS to drive 30 miles one way and pick up the girls as they were done "helping." He refused and they ended up with the BF.

Not cool and I always worry about young girls left alone with a strange man even if he has kids of his own. My niece and others I know were molested by the father in the home while on a sleepover with friends.

Right now the Jedi is cleaning my dining room carpet. The kid spilled a cup of marinara sauce on the floor, chairs, walls and rug. I'm cleaning the rug. I have to put plastic under the spot but it does clean.

Had so many grands and they were so wild that I ran out of plastic cups and I have 30 of them! I'm so done and ready to go to bed.

I've got to do my unemployment and pay for my health insurance before I go to bed tonight. It has to be done by the end of the month and I was busy this week doing fun things. I thought I'd have time this afternoon, but at one time or another all four boys were here and I ended up taking one to the garage to get his car serviced and back to pick it up.

SS, I'm glad you went to graduation. When my kids graduated from the U a few years ago, they had the full commencement with all the graduates then split into the various "schools" to award diplomas. There were two kids, so it worked out well to have the ceremonies separate. I was still gone all day but wasn't exhausted as much.

Tammy, glad DH is doing better.

Have a great day. I've got to get to my money stuff before the clock strikes midnight.

Morning!
We went over to Casey & Zona's at 2:30. Zona and I stayed inside as it was so cold out while the guys worked on his truck. At 6 they stopped long enough for dinner. I ate a piece of pork and my salad. Casey grilled them with BBQ sauce. They tasted delicious but I see on the bottle of sauce that 1 srvg had 19 carbs! Yikes, my total is only 20 for the day! BUT, I didn't say a word and ate it. Zona had potato salad and said she would not be offended if I passed on it so I did. I got plenty full and I guess it didn't hurt. I'm not weighing every day so I can only guess.

Today is Lexi's big day! We are driving down to WMU with DD & SIL so we both don't have to drive. It's a good 90 min drive from here. Then there is a group of us going out to dinner before the graduation. The residence hall in the dorm is completely empty so Lexi was alone last night. So after the graduation she is coming home for good! It's a bitter/sweet time for her.

I wish it were a prettier day but it isn't so we'll make due with the cold, dreary day. It's supposed to begin raining about 4 and rain until Monday! Not a pleasant Sunday expected!

Weezie2 - I hope your nephew arrives and you can get the trees planted before rain!

Tammy - glad Joe is improving!

WG - isn't that nice of the DIL to "let" the kids spend some time with their father! You have certainly got alot accomplished with your quilts the last few days.

LG - how fun to spend time with your sister and to come away with bargains is a bonus!
I hope your weather forecast is better than ours for Carmen's BB games.

PJ - good luck on the hair cut with the male. I used to have a man cut my hair and he was really good. But he went to a very expensive salon that I couldn't afford. I have been reading a lot on drinking apple cider vinegar but haven't tried it. I see you can buy a pill supplement and wondered it either the liquid or the pill actually helps. I am not seeing any difference from the turmeric I've been taking other than staining everything it touches! It even stained the mixer glass I use to blend it. I'm about ready to stop but am trying to at least finish the container I bought as it wasn't cheap! I haven't had any issue with not getting my emails unless I go in and read post and don't post myself. Then I get dropped until I realize I'm no long getting posts and I go in and post once again.

It was definitely a busy week and it flew by. Kami spent last night with me and woke up again at 5:45. I like it a little better when she sleeps in til 7.

Hopefully my nephew makes it over today. I bought some trees this week that he was going to help me plant. I found some nice 5' arborvitae half priced that will look great along the back property line.

I've been having fun with the new longarm. There is quite a learning curve to it, I found I do better when I can relax and make my swirls larger...much smoother. I'd like to feel like I have one element down well before I move on to the next one.

Have a Great Saturday!

[\Hi Seesters. It is rainy and cold. East wind is expected tonight which never bodes well. The wind comes down off the mountain and wreaks havoc on everything.

Tammy, I'm glad you found a reason for Joe's pain. It might be that he isn't remembering as well as he used to. I'm sure you notice it more than others would as he is a bright man and can compensate for many things. On the other hand, sometimes we don't remember bruises. I guess the best thing is to be aware and watchful. At his age a little memory loss is something that does happen to many people.

SS, your salad sounds great. I'm sure the kids are aware of your eating needs. They will try to have foods that work for you even if you don't remind them.

PJ, you seem to gravitate to the shorter hair. It looks good on you. I think a bit of gray is a nice thing. I'm sure the guy will do it if you want, especially since it is stylish these days even with the younger crowd.

LG, lots of bargains sounds like fun. Sister time is always a good thing. I'm glad you got to spend time with yours today. I'm sure you will find tomorrow for the things you need to do. It seems like there is always a lot more to do than time, but it all works out.

I got most of the third quilt quilted. I'll get it done tonight and they will all be ready to be bound. Then I can give them away. I had a lot of fun practicing the free motion quilting on the quilts and am much better now. I'm not going to worry about how well it is done as it is a road quilt and the back side is pretty forgiving. I'll be much more confident for sure. It makes me want Weezie2's quilter, though as it took a lot of time and turning the quilt to get it all quilted. My shoulders and wrists are quite tender. The weather has some to do with it but it is mostly the repetitive movements. I'll be fine in a day or so. I'll have to toughen up so I can do more quilting and other things.

Have a great day. I'm back to quilting and puttering. DS is home and his ex is "letting" him have the kids tomorrow to be "nice." She kept the oldest out of school yesterday to help her with her business. That explains why I didn't have the wee one.

Had a great day with my sister. We shopped and we both got lots and all of it was on sale! So it was a good day.

PJ, we are getting rain now and it's supposed to rain all day tomorrow and part of Sunday. It's also chilly here. I've turned the heat back on! But I too hate sleeping hot so at night I turn it either off or down low.

Sharon, glad you were able to avoid the donuts and home made goodies. We had school tours at the museum on Thursday and the admin. assistant bought donuts. I also avoided them. But they aren't my favorite anyway.

WG, glad you got some "alone" time. It's always nice.

Tammy, I do the same thing as everyone else. I'll see a bruise and wonder how I got it.

We are going to the greenhouse tomorrow to get all my plants. Then I've got to find time to get them planted. Sunday Carmen has two bb games so it won't happen then but then it's going to rain all day.

Going to try to get some sewing done tomorrow too but not sure it will happen. I need to clean house, go to the bank, get groceries, etc, etc.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Dental check ups were good today. I managed to do some other errands and get groceries too. Expected to rain all weekend so will be inside working. Lots to do inside too.

I still have not bought my annuals and will probably wait until next week. I also am trying a new beautician (a man) next week. Comes hightly recommended from several of the ladies at the fitness center. I was trying to let it grow out but I canít stand it. So it will probably go back to my short haircut again. I am going to ask him also about streaking in more gray in my hair. My other beautician would not do it.

LG poor Brooke. If she got hot and had to use the crutches too Iím sure she was exhausted. And getting overheated can cause you to feel quesy and weak.

Sharon I try and take some natural apple cider vinegar each day as it is supposed to have lots of good benefits. I mix it in a glass of water. I tried just drinking it and it burned and caused and immediate hot flash. Donít need those anymore. Iím glad you get to go to the graduation I know it will be long but it will be worth it. And Iím sure there will be some celebrating after or the next day.

WG glad you got some time with no kids. I bet DS will be glad to get back home again. I donít sleep well if I am too hot and I have enough problems sleeping when Iím cool. So I give Frank a couple of blankets and keep it cool.

Tammy I bruise myself all the time and donít know what I did or forget. There has been times I will tell Frank thatís going to bruise so he will know when the bruise shows up. However his memory is as bad as mine. LOL

Is anyone else having issues getting email notices from Spark. I have resubscribed but seems the recipe of the day and the others similar to that that are to be daily ones are not coming through anymore.

Morning!
As soon as I'm done Sparking, I have to make my salad to take this evening to my DS's house for dinner. He called and is afraid the men won't have enough time to work on his truck so he is leaving work at noon. He called and suggested we come early so we are working to be their by 1pm. Bug and Nala will exhaust each other by playing all afternoon and evening. They will both sleep well tonight!

My GD got up at 6am to stand in line for the leftover tickets that the students turned in that they wouldn't be using. She prevailed and got 2 more tickets so Norm and I will be going to watch her graduate with honors from Western MI University tomorrow. I am so darn proud of that young lady! So tomorrow will be another fun filled day!

Tammy - I can't tell you how many times I get a big bruise and can't remember why. You would think if it's hard enough to bruise, you'd remember! Not always so. So give Joe a break as his knee probably hurts some anyway so he didn't notice it. Now that you know, he can deal with it.

WG - I am sure your DS will be glad to return home! It looks like you were able to use your childless day to make progress with your sewing. Good for you!

Hi, Seesters!

According to the nurse practioner that we did get in to see, Joe's arthritic knee inflammation has worsened because of inflammation from below his knee where the door had slipped off the saw horses - in the better light, I could definitely see the bruising. [I know accidents can always happen, but it bothers me that Joe didn't immediately remember it happening. It seems like details are being lost sometimes.] Anyway, the Xrays showed no fractures, etc and both his knee and his lower leg were xrayed. A prescription anti-inflammatory has been doubled from his usual dosage and to be taken with also Tylenol Arthritis plus icing. He needed to sleep in his recliner again last night after trying the bed for an hour or so.

There MAY be some sewing today. There needs to be.

Have a good day.

Hi Seesters. Spent yesterday and today sewing. I got two quilts quilted. I've got a third and there will be enough for all the boys. It was pretty quick and easy. Nothing fancy but the boys will enjoy it, I think.

DS is coming home from Washington today. He called from the airport. He is at least 3 hours late as they haven't taken off yet. I'm sure he will be happy to get back.

I didn't watch any kids today but was asked to watch DIL's kids. She was going somewhere. I think it didn't work out but she never brought the girl. I didn't care as I was busy.

PJ, love the hummingbird feeder. It sounds like spring is at your house.

LG, I'm sorry Brooke was so stressed last night. I'm sure she wanted to sing but that is a lot when you can't get around and have pain. I'm glad she didn't faint.

It's good that you are getting to experience the other machines. It helps to know them all. It would be nice to be able to work and do projects with some of the machines but it would be confusing as well.

Have fun with your sister tomorrow.

SS, I love the idea of flowers around the stop sign. Norm is quite the putterer. Annuals are always so colorful. I'm sure your yard will be gorgeous.

Tammy, hope Joe's knee is better today.

I got a new thermostat to replace the one in the basement. I'm going to move both of them as they are both in bad locations. I put the new one in upstairs and plan to put the other in the basement. The new one has been running all night to keep the house at the same temperature all the time. I thought it was programed but it needed tweaking. Hopefully it will be better as I sleep much better in the cold.

Hopefully it will quit trying to keep me warm. It makes me crazy when it goes on hours before I want to get up and S L O W L Y warms the house up. It warms up quickly enough without any of that gentle stuff. My other one was doing that to get the house warm for my 3:30 waking. I finally turned it off because I was too hot and just lived with a cold house getting ready for work. If this doesn't improve, I might do it again.

I'm tired and may take a nap waiting for my DS to get home. Have a great day.

Good Evening!
We got up and went to our community coffee this morning. Once again I was able to avoid the doughnuts and home baked cookies! When coffee was over, we had to go to Meijer to pick up Norm's meds. We had a couple other errands before coming home and eating a late lunch. So I wasn't too hungry at suppertime so I made a smoothie.

I have been using Tumeric in my Smoothies and I'm getting about 1 tsp a day. I have heard it has lots of good health benefits, including helping inflamation. Has anyone taken it?

LG - I'm in the final pages of the book I'm reading so I'm going to bed at 8pm and hopefully finish reading it tonight!

Catch up with you all in the morning!

How did it get to be Thursday?? It was just Monday!!! emoticon

PJ, no I've been teaching them for a while. The only "problem" is that I don't know all the machines that we sell. I have a couple of them but not everyone buys what I do! Yesterday, Sharynn and I embroidered greeting cards. She used her 15000 and I used an Skyline S9. I'd never used it but now I can teach it!! Of course, I'm still learning my new one.

WG, the quilts are awesome....and it is really cool that both grammas had the same idea for the new baby.

Tammy, glad you got the TT repaired.

Sharon, Thomas and I are going on Saturday to the greenhouses to pick up our flowers.

Thomas and I are going to Louisville to see my sister and spend the day. I'm really looking forward to it. We don't have any sports events to go to until Sunday afternoon when Carmen plays basketball. Jason is leaving for a business trip and on Monday we are going to pick up Carmen and Luke at school and get Luke to his baseball practice and Carmen to her softball practice. A full day!! But I will enjoy spending time with the grands.

Poor Brooke had a concert (singing) last night and she had to stand with her crutches. She was so exhausted when it was over that she was about in tears. She really looked like she might faint but didn't. They got her home and cooled her off.

I'm heading to the couch. I'm reading a book named When You Were Mine. It is set in NYC just after WWII. Very good read. Hoping to get to Barnes & Noble to buy Marie Bostwick's new book. I saw where she is at Paducah this week.

I saw our first hummingbird yesterday I already had a feeder out for them. And our first Baltimore Oriole this morning so I cut an orange in half and put that out for them.

Tomorrow morning is our dental cleanings then I will go shopping for what I need to finish a tshirt quilt for DS and probably get some groceries. I think Frank has things out of my way so I can finish loading my cookware into the trailer too.

I have the tshirt quilt top done and have called a lady about machine quilting it need to get out tomorrow and look for a flat sheet to use as the backing. Anxious to see this project done.

Then need to concentrate on cleaning out more stuff and getting it marked for garage sale (plan to have that the weekend before Memorial Day weekend.

LG I am so relieved that Brooke does not need surgery. Sounds like you are still busy Were those the first 2 classes you taught. Good thing you held some pies out for yourself. 650 is a lot of pies good thing you ladies have a good system to get them done and ready to sell.

I donít really have any thoughts on the flooring only to stay away for area rugs and throw rugs. For us we will be sticking to carpet here as our main floor is cement and too cold otherwise. I am going to have something other than carpet in the bathrooms. Believe it or not they were and are all carpeted.

WG so glad the fire wasnít any worse. Did it scare him? And did he come and get our or did the smell get your attention?

Tammy sounds like your busy between school and your trailer. One thing when we fix things ourselves (or when Frank does) they always come out better then they were to begin with.

Sharon Norm sure does like his flowers. No doubt all the neighbors know which house is yours. I havenít bought all my annuals yet but did get the petunias I wanted for my two front planter boxes. I am wanting to do more potted annuals this year for in front of the porch.

Hi, Seesters!

First, WG, I like the picture of the quilts! That is something about the same theme from both grandmothers.

SS, I like those annual flowers, but I have a problem keeping just the ones from DD on Mother's Day alive throughout the summer. LOL I about have her trained to get petunias for me and I had a ton of them last year. In spite of our being gone so much, they held up pretty well. It is shady in front of our house, so I make do with some shady plants that I usually successfully keep alive through the winter.

This is Day 2 of Joe's knee pain - we are going to try to get worked in with his pcp. We shall see.

Have a good day, Seesters.

Good Afternoon

We spent the morning going to a couple nurseries to buy annual flowers. We have perennials around the house and garage but use annual in our flower boxes. Problem is, we have a lot of flower boxes - 2 window boxes, 2 on the deck, and two on the steps. Oh, and we put annual flowers around the tree in front and the stop sign that is in our front yard! Norm of course, had to put bricks around it, paint them white and put flowers inside the bricks. When anyone asks where we live and tell them, they say "Oh, you're the one that made the stop sign pretty!" I guess it looks pretty but it sure is expensive to buy all the flowers!

I had to go to WalMart to get more coconut oil. I ran out and I can't go a day without. While there we stopped at Subway for lunch. Norm loves their tuna salad. I had a grilled chicken chopped salad. They don't have blue cheese salad dressing so I used a couple of their mayonnaise packets. That sounded gross at first but when you think of a 7 layer salad, mayo is the dressing for that. So the salad was good and I stayed within my range.

Tammy - I am sorry Joe is having knee issues. Norm has indigestion issues and some nights gets out of bed to sleep in the recliner. I always feel bad but he insists he's much more comfortable, especially with our new double recliner. I must admit they are comfy! What year is your TT? I'm glad you got the door fixed. Sounds like it had rot, so be sure and check the flooring. Are you intending to replace the floor in the TT? Norm loves to lay flooring so too bad we don't live closer.

LG - Thanks for the update on Brooke! Granddaughters are special. Our one and only GD is graduating from Western Saturday. Being from divorced parents and engaged, she is struggling as they only get a few tickets. We told her not to worry about us, but she called last night and said Fri morning, they are passing out the ones students didn't use. So she is getting in line and hoping to get a couple for us. I am just so proud of her that I would love to go but the thought of the graduation itself, is long and boring so I will live if we can't go. Lexi did say they have an overflow section in another part of the bldg where it will be shown on screens but Norm wants no part of that. The good news is I got over 9,000 steps in yesterday. Perhaps I can work myself back up to over 10,000 steps! I took a nice epsom salt bath before bed and that seems to help the pain.

Good afternoon Seesters. It is cold out with rain/snow coming. Been a wet week. Yesterday I got a bee in my bonnet and found my panels with "Cars" on it and a panel with roads on it. I put a border on the roads panel and it is a perfect fit to the cars panel. I put them together and will quilt them today. I'm not great at the quilting but it is a play quilt and the boys are 3 years old. They can use the quilt on their beds for naps or on the floor with their cars and it will hold up a bit better than a piece of fabric.

I've still got the baby quilts to work on, but got the bee yesterday and went with it.

Yesterday Fabio told me his "Nana" is making a quilt for his new baby brother. It has Foxes and Owls on it. I got out the cuddle blanket I made for the baby and gave it to DD yesterday. She laughed that the blankets have the same theme and same woodland animals and same colors. I think it is fun that both grandmas have like minds. The other grandma is doing an embroidered quilt so it will be a lot of fun.

Tammy, glad you got the door fixed. It seems like it was unstable if it went so quickly. I'm sorry Joe is in pain. Stress can do that to a bum knee. Hopefully a day of rest and it will be back into better shape. Gentle walking also loosens the joint and will help him recover a bit sooner. I hate walking when my knees hurt but it really helps the pain go away.

SS, sounds like you are enjoying cooler weather also.

LG, It must be fun to teach the new classes. These folks usually have some sewing experience, don't they? I'm glad Brooke won't need to have surgery on her nose. I'm sorry it will take a while for the ankle to heal.

Weezie2, how is the quilting going?

TB, how is the packing going? Did you find a company to move the household goods? When is your BIL taking Red to his new home?

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hi, Seesters!

Thanks for the additional suggestions about flooring. I appreciate it.

DH was up most of the night with his knee bothering him, likely arthritis again. He hadn't been bothered with it in quite some time. He appears to be asleep in his recliner now, but doesn't look very comfortable to me.

A big job got completed on the little camper yesterday - we knew there had to be a bit of work on the door, but that work was multiplied when Joe took it off and dropped it last week. New glass, new siding material, etc. Anyway, the door renovations were done and we got it reattached to its hinges yesterday. At least we know it is a sturdy door now and it definitely was not earlier with how easily it disintegrated - not sure that is the best word, but it is the best that I can come up with.

I was in a fabric store yesterday - as most of you know, that is a great place to be and I did leave them a bit of $ for a project that I am completing.

Have a good day, Seesters! I am going to go ahead and get in the shower early in case we have more storms move through. I slept through the overnight storms.

Just popping in for a quick read and reply.....

Tammy, on the flooring.....my mom's apartment was carpeted except in the kitchen. It was easier for her with a walker as it didn't "run away with her". Those are her words! And I agree with Sharon about the laminate flooring. When we were debating about hardwood vs. laminate, a guy I knew said his kids were playing in the kitchen sink and had water every where and it ruined their floor. They had to replace it all. I had all hardwood floors in the other house that we lived in and I really got tired of it and it was cold. When we put in some carpeting the whole house was warmer. Just my 2 cents!

Sharon, I've struggled the last 2 days to get my steps in also. But I'll get back at it tomorrow!

WG, hope that the Jedi learned a valuable lesson.

Update on Brooke...she saw the ENT today and will not have to have surgery on her nose!! WOOHOO!! Ankle is healing nicely according to the trainer and she is out of the aircast. But she can't put any weight on it for 10 days at least.

Taught 2 new owners classes today. Tomorrow will be a very busy day as we have a lot of new merchandise to put out.

Heading to emoticon

Morning!
Well, it's almost lunch time if I'm being honest. I have been on two walks with Nala already and I'm halfway to my goal. I really struggle to get 7,000 steps in. I remember when I could walk so much more. I continue to do the exercises the dr gave me (stretching my middle) and although they are uncomfortable when I am doing them, I do think they are helping. I have to agree with my dr and say my pain is caused from internal scar tissue. Other than surgery, these exercises are my other option.

Tammy - we put laminate flooring in our MH and I hate it! It is much harder than hardwood to keep up. Plus when my sink overflowed, it permanently damaged the wood. The water got in the seams and lifted the laminate. Hardwood is waterproof. So one more think to keep in mind when making your decision.

WG - that is so scary that Jedi almost started a house fire. Accidents happen no matter how much we seek to prevent them. I just hoped it put a little fear into him so he'll be more careful in the future.

Hi, Seesters!

Thanks for the flooring info. I go back and forth and still have some time but hopefully not too long a time before the decision must be made. I think the hardwood/laminate type floor would be easier to keep clean and I can see the wheelchair argument. I had thought carpet might be easier if a fall were to occur, but likely if either of us was to fall, that would not keep from breaking a bone or anything. We happen to live in a place with fairly easy access to doctors, etc so I look for us to live here for the duration. I occasionally think about moving out to the country closer to my youngest DS and mom, close to where I grow up, should I ever be the lone person making the decision, but considering I am 16 years older than her, I shouldn't want them to feel burdened as I aged and it's less than 90 minutes away anyway. So I guess I will enjoy where I happen to be planted. LOL

I have errands today, some fun, some less fun but not too bad.

LG, hope Brooke is good!

Hi Seesters. Rainy here. Expecting at least 1/2 inch which is a lot but this is the rainy season. The boys are here. Their grammy was unavailable today and we're spending the day together.

Tammy, I'm very fond of my floors. I know when my mother was here, but she was at the end of her life, she did better at my sisters home and she had hardwood. She did have to take out all the rugs so the walker could go across the floor. I had all carpet and it was a bit harder for her here.

I love my hardwood but it is hard on my feet. I don't go around barefoot any more. I think if you wanted, carpet would work as well. it wouldn't have rugs so there is less likelihood that you would trip.

I'm glad you are more mechanical than you thought you would be. It isn't a lot different than sewing. You follow instructions and put things together. I like You Tube to figure out how to fix things. Good luck fixing things.

SS, Going in Style sounds like a fun movie. I'm sorry that there was no one in the theater. I love seeing movies like that but agree that you can't make money doing that.

The Jedi almost burned down my house this morning. He was up early and watched a movie. He had lit the fire and left things against the fireplace that the kids had put there over the weekend. He managed to melt a plastic table, some toys, and Legos. It still smells. I will survive and hopefully he won't burn the house down again.

But now I also have a good reason not to let them put things there. I hated them there anyway. I'm so looking forward to their stuff being confined in their space. Not really going to happen but it is a nice thought.

LG, so glad the pies are done for another year. I'm sorry about Brooke. That's a lot of injury. Hopefully she will have a quick recovery. Did I hear you say you will have to make the pies for Shipse?

Weezie2, Hope you are having fun quilting. I'm excited to hear how it is going but know there is a learning curve and it will be a full time occupation until you figure out how it works.

Have a great day.

Tammy - All I can tell you on the carpet floor, is the Hospice nurse said absolutely no rugs for my Dad's house. I'm not sure that would include an area rug (5x7) or not. She was worried about him tripping. We are going to replace our carpet w/hardwood floors this summer and believe me, it will last well into old age.

I decided to take the rest of my pork loin and simmer it with sauerkraut for dinner this evening.

Hi, Seesters!

The camping trailer renovations are coming along slowly with the rain. We don't have any plans to take it out until about 5/10, so we still have some time. Yesterday afternoon, it was a "fix the toilet in it" day - that was quite interesting. emoticon Both our fingers were actually too big for some of the places the screws needed to go in putting things back together. I seemed to be a bit better at putting things back together than Joe, and I consider myself not to be mechanically minded at all.

I am at work - today got off to a slow start and THEN I also had to get gas before going to work. That hasn't happened in years, likely decades. One class to go though and it will be a done day. I have a pork roast cooking in the crockpot, so dinner prep will be minimal which is a good thing and leftovers will be somewhat plentiful which is also a good thing.

I will ask my question again - any advice on what is the better type of flooring with aging adults?

LG - OMG! I am so glad you got to see Brooke. Her injuries sound severe for just colliding with someone. Those girls play hard! Thank you for setting the pies aside for Shipshe! I am looking forward to a slice. It appears the pies reputation is out there. It doesn't matter how many you make, they all sell! I can't imagine making 650 pies and I think you had a part in every one of them!

We have one more nice day before the rain moves in so I'm hoping to get outside again today. I'm working on day 15 of our streak and going strong. Not only am I counting steps but also staying within my carb limits for the day.

Just wanted to pop in and say "hello". I'm very tired. We made and sold over 650 pies. I am so happy that Rachel and her friend Dusty were able to help us as they have in the past. Couldn't do it without them. Rachel is "in charge" of making all the pies. She and Dusty put them together and we can bake 30 pies at a time. But it is hard to watch 6 ovens!! It is a process. While they are making the fruit pies, we have 2 others who make Sugar cream and Kentucky Pie which is a "glorified" pecan pie. I usually "float" and do whatever is needed. Like rolling the top crust which we make fresh. The bottom crust is made ahead and frozen.

I'm anxious to find out how much money we made. As we didn't have a pie left. And almost no fruit. I do have an Apple, Peach, & Bumbleberry pies for Shipshe.

Had a bit of a scare on Saturday. Brooke had a double header softball game. But she was only going to play in the 1st one as she had a concert that she had to participate in. This was part of her Choir grade. So they had her playing in the outfield. At about 11:30, Jason called and said he was on his way to Columbus Hospital with Brooke as she and a teammate had collided. Brooke has a broken nose, bruised cheek, and a severely sprained ankle which is in a brace and she is on crutches. But she came to see us at the museum today as she was bored just sitting at home and asked her mom to bring her down. I was so happy to see her and know that she isn't quite as bad as it all sounds.

I have read all the posts but just too tired to comment.

Good Evening!
We had a nice day. This morning we went to the Matinee Showing of the movie, "Going In Style" about 3 retired men who decide to rob a bank. It was cute and rated PG. We loved it, especially related to the old men humor. However, only 3 others in the theatre. Makes me sad as if they don't make a lot of money, they will quit making these great movies. It seems most want to see sex, and violence.

We spent a lot of time outside as it was beautiful. While we were outside, I had a pork tenderloin in the slow cooker. Norm has instant potatoes and gravy with his meat and cole slaw but I just ate meat and cole slaw. I do get to have some microwaved pork rinds as a snack later this evening.

Another day with meeting all my goals! Each day the scale goes down, I am getting more determined! I am continuing my streat, Tammy.

PJ, yes, we got lots of rain! I do think it is ending for a few days, though.

Question - as folks are aging [speaking of both Joe and myself here] - is it "safer" to have carpet or hardwood/pergo/etc in the event of falls? I am going back and forth with the decision but one must be made.

WG, dog hair! emoticon Speaking of Russia, we are watching The Americans about the KGB spies that live in the US. I could do without the sex scenes - surely that is not necessary - but it is interesting to think of the Soviets mindset after how they were treated by the Germans in WWII, etc. This comment has nothing to whatsoever to do with your post about SIL's father, etc., but the mention of Russia reminded me of it.

Weezie2, how's your relationship with Lenni coming along?

Hi Seesters. The kids are watching Hook and I'm checking mail. I've got to do my job hunt as well and will do that in a minute.

It is fun to hear of your goings on. It makes up for not leaving the house today.

PJ, glad you got to see the greats and grands. It is nice to connect again. It would be fun to watch the alpaca shearing. I've seen sheep but never alpacas. It would be fun to see the wool. Did I tell you about my Russian SIL's baby gift from a family friend. Apparently in Russia they take dog hair and spin it and make yarn. She has a pair of booties made from the yarn. They are very soft and beautiful.

Weezie, I'm so glad you get that time with Ava. It is fun to watch the grands grow up. I've seen hover boards and have a grandson who would love it but the bad press the batteries got when they came out and the cost has made it something that his parents wouldn't get.

SS, so glad you both got a nice day at home. You run all the time it seems, so a day home would be nice.

Tammy, sounds like a lot of yard work. I'm glad you are getting it done so you can have a good harvest.

TB, I agree that Red will be happier if someone else drives. Then you can come at your leisure and both of you have a safer trip. That's a long drive.

Oldest DS came by today and did some work on the basement so it can be painted. Apparently there is still a lot of prep work to be done. He is very fussy about how it is done and is happier if I don't help. I'm good with that but it takes a long time to get it all done.

I've got to get my work done and take care of some stuff. It would be nice to have a bit of quiet but I'll get that next week when everyone will be gone.

Have a great day everyone.

LG I saw your post with the pies on fb. How many do you make. Lots of work involved in those pies.

Tammy the rained missed us last night. Did you get any?

TB I am glad you have someone to move Red it will be better for everyone and especially your nerves.

WG That soon to be ex DIL is a nut case. I donít think she will ever be totally out of the picture but we can hope.

Weez I am so sorry work is still such a mess. I wish you could retire. I will finally get my SS this year I elected to wait until I could get the full amount at age 66 which is in September. OMG your hubby is lucky he didnít break something. I know for sure I would have.

Beautiful weather here but windy. I am playing house putting things into the new trailer. I get that job done then it will be time to get back to preparing for a garage sale and work on the tshirt quilt.

Popping in to say Hi. Not much happening here today. At least it is sunny and a little warmer. Nala and I have been walking several times and will again shortly.

Norm is busy working on our shed. He had to raise it up and replace a few slats of wood on the door. Normal winter wear according to Norm.

Weezie - I am glad you are so active with Ava. She sounds like she is a very active child. I am sorry about the stress from work. I can only imagine you are counting down to retirement. My sister had to wait until 66 to get her full SS. Her birthday was Mar 30 and she is now getting her SS. She was so excited to be done with work but the company talked her in to staying on part time, 24 hrs a week so she decided it wouldn't hurt. At least she knows she can quit when she's had enough.

TB - I think it's a good idea to have someone else drive Red to his new home. It will be an exciting time for all of you. It will be much easier for you to keep up the yard work. I think you will really enjoy being close to your sister. How does it affect the distance from your GS? Will he be closer?

WG - I can only chuckle at each development you share about your crazy ex-DIL! She definitely has a manic personality. I hope your DS is able to distance himself emotionally. That is so hard to do.

Weezie, glad to see you! I'm sorry about the "stuff", including DH's near mishap - it sounds like good times with Ava and the boys, though! emoticon

WG, yes, indeed, I do know. emoticon And FB is such a source of info, too, isn't it? As for checking accounts, DD couldn't have checks for a year after "stuff" with her account. That made a few things tricky. I suspect DS won't be quite as forthcoming with child support early in the future. Did he give her cash or a check? In the most recent past, I told DD that I would "help" with counseling expenses...and I purposely do NOT give her the entire amount nor do I give her cash - I always give her a check and I make her come and get it. It's been a while since she asked. emoticon I was very unwise in that area a few years ago and I'll just leave it at that.

It has rained, rained, rained here but it has been kind of nice to not HAVE to be anywhere. We are going out between rains here in a bit to run a couple of errands.

It seems it is about time to spray our little urban apple trees. I put netting over my original strawberry bed yesterday between rain showers.

LG, the pies look SOOOOO good!

Good morning ladies! I am around, just working through some junk I guess.

Busy this morning with Ava as she started soccer and we're attending, of course, and seeing she gets to practices during the week and of course I'm too old for this. LOL She is happy and is one big smile the entire time. All worth it. Do you know what a hoverboard is? Well, her mom borrowed one and she took to it. Makes it look simple of course. Well the other night DH tried and didn't go too well. Fell twice and ended up going to the doctor to be sure he didn't break his elbow. He didn't but did bruise badly but glad to know and of course he DOES want to try again. I knew better to try. Shoot, I can't walk and chew gum at the same time. It is fun to see her on it as she spins and such. They drew a roadway in their drive and she'd stop and look both ways, etc. What fun! Anyway, she's doing well and we are enjoying having her back. She is getting more time with the boys too which is nice. She and Kellan have fun and I hope it continues. Kellan is going to be a non-athlete much to his father's dismay but excelling in so many other areas so we're helping dad cope with it all.

Work is still a pain on many levels. The boss is now targeting another gal and it is obvious. She claims now that before the beginning of the next school year she'll be gone. Just do it!! Our Supt is still with us for now but it is day by day since the whole mascot thing. Just a lot of stress, that's for sure.

Still trying to sew but not too successful. Did have a great time with Pat and I know she's busy this weekend baking. Looking forward to Shipsee.

I know we all have things going on so please know I haven't forgotten you all and do keep track, just haven't been posting.

Weezie, have you gotten the new toy figured out and quilting a way?

Tammy, WG, my heart goes out to you as well as I know you too have kid crap happening. I hate feeling that sense of helplessness.

Okay, I just wanted to say hello to all but we gotta scoot to get to her game on time I'll be back!!!

Enjoy your day ladies.

Hi Seesters. I'm popping in before going shopping. Need a visit to the hardware store, the grocery store and a bit of cleaning the floor before the grands arrive.

The divorce won't be final for a while. DIL wants to have surgery and is holding off until she has it on his policy. She had surgery in March but needs more work done. She is interesting. Ran out of data on her phone so her solution was to demand child support a day early (he gave it) and bought a new phone with a new number. Now she has two phones to use and forget to charge. She changed banks because she was overdrawn at one.

Tammy, I'm sure you recognize some of the behaviors. I wish I could be sympathetic but it has been too nasty to do that.

SS, dinner sounds good. I'm glad you are having fun cooking. I'm sure your DH enjoys it as well.

Tammy, enjoy your puttering day. It is fun to have days like that.

TB, its interesting how many things we keep because we like them and when it comes time to decide, we didn't love them and they go. I've got to get back to purging again. Don't want to leave that to the kids. My DD would dig me up and give me what for!

Going to run and play. Not much time this afternoon. Have a great day.

Good afternoon, all:

I am taking a break from sorting/purging/packing so thought I'd pop by.

PJ: We are moving on June 1st. The movers will be arriving whether we're ready or not, so we'd better be ready. emoticon Actually, if we continue to make the progress we have been, we will be fine.

WG: I hope your DS's divorce goes through soon, although with a personality like DIL's I suspect he won't be shed of her for a very long time.

Tammy: I remember very well how relieved Bob used to be when exams were graded and marks compiled. Congratulations. Do you haul the travel trailer? It appears to be not too much smaller than Red's trailer; I do okay with it as long as I don't have to back it up. Then, I sell tickets to the comedy show. emoticon I am going to get somebody to drive when we bring Red down. I'm okay with little, short trips but I'm not up to a long haul like that one. It takes about 7 hours driving a car, and pulling a horse and trailer (safely) is a much slower proposition. I'm hoping my BIL will agree to drive for me; he has hauled horses for years and I trust him.

Lily: Are you going to continue to work full time or was that just until the show? I am amazed at how much you manage to get done with family and volunteer work, while still putting in full time hours at the store.

Sharon: I love buffets but always end up eating more than I should because I want to try everything. No matter how small the portions are that I pick up, I always overdo.

Well, I'd better get back to purging and packing. We'll need to do another thrift store trip soon. We have been there so often over the last few weeks that they've gotten so they know our truck and greet us by name. Of course, so do the people at the dump. emoticon

Take care, all, and I'll pop by when I can.

"I Can't" means "I haven't learned how yet and I'm not going to try".

It is so cold here today - low 40's and windy. I took one walk outside to go get our mail and decided I'm exercising to a DVD inside!

We went to the grocery store this morning and bought the stuff I have planned for over the weekend. Tonight I am making an Amish Broc/Cauliflower salad. It is low carb and one that Norm enjoys as well. He can have garlic bread with it but I'm fine with just the salad!

Yes, I went back on LC/HF yesterday. I decided I have to get serious about losing some of the weight I have regained.

Hi, Seesters!

No trailer renovations yesterday - raining - and the same next couple of days. I did get to the sewing room and back to the baby quilts. It was a nice time. I am especially glad to not be grading exams this weekend.

DH is a bit under the weather - allergies, I think. I am picking up Coricidin HBP at the store in a few hours.

A store visit, a post office visit, and perhaps more time in the sewing room. That's a good day, I think.

Hello, ladies.....

Sorry I've been MIA just so busy and then trouble with the computer or SP not sure which. When I'd try to post, it would just close. I shut it down for a couple of days and now fine. We are having some sever storms and it ain't pretty!!

Our annual pie baking has begun and we got about 50 out today along with brownies, cakes, and cupcakes.

We've gone to softball games too. Not attending anything until next Wednesday!! I'll be back after the weekend is over.

Where do I even start. We spent Easter with Frankís family just for the day. I have started working on the tshirt quilt for youngest DS and mowing yard now. Drum roll Please we are picking up our new 5th wheel tomorrow morning. Canít wait to get it home and start taking stuff from the house and putting them away in it. I will post some pics after we get it home.

I did go and see the great grand kids this morning. Jillian is now 8 months old and just starting to scoot/crawl backwards and has 1 tooth. Jackson is being evaluated for speech therapy as he is 4 and his talking is not comprehensibile. Otherwise all the kids are doing great.

All your shopping talk. Iím sure there will be some things that I have to buy for the new trailer.

WG I bet your house was pretty lively with all those grands there. What little girls me included donít like to dress up (in mothers clothes) or in princess dresses. I agree with SS hope you got pictures

Tammy that is a great idea just to have the small trailer for short trips. I think you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

TB I am so glad you sold your lake house quickly. How soon will you actually be moving or do you know at this time?

SS glad DD is recuping after her surgery and will pray for good lab results.

Iím not going back to read all the posts but wanted to let you all know that I am thinking about you.

Just got back from our community coffee. We walked up but when it was time to come home it was poring out again. So we sat and visited a while longer with those still there until the rain let up.

Tammy - I love shopping online! In fact, I have a couple items to go buy as soon as I'm done sparking! I am so happy for you and your TT and your site at Treasure Lake! If it were me, I would probably never be home!

Hi, Seesters!

I was up too early emoticon but I went to bed early after helping renovate on the little travel trailer yesterday evening. We got so busy we didn't even watch our usual evening television shows - I don't think that is a bad thing, either.

I don't think we will be going anywhere this weekend - I must say I am glad of that after being gone most of last weekend. Right now we think we are going to the Branson campground next Wednesday thru Sunday morning, so it's like we will be gone again. I best get lots of things done, eh? The thing is...I've learned all to well that it will be there when I get back!

I just shopped online from Kohl's with a gift card that I received...that is way too easy, but it WAS with a gift card.

Have a very good day, Seesters!

Good Evening!
We got up this morning and headed out to our friends. We brought Nala along and crated her at their house. Cut a couple hrs off her crate time! The casino was fun. We decided to go to the buffet even though the cost was $16.95 per person. We have no idea why as we all thought that was too much money. Then the guy in line ahead of us had a $75 coupon and the cashier said it would be OK to include us. So three of us got our lunch for FREE. Norm (as a Vet) got his at 1/2 price so all four of us basically ate for $8. We said someone up above must have known as we were shaking our heads that we even decided to go to the buffet!

Then we played slots for a couple hours and we all gained a little money - no one lost any. Then we always at the end put $10 ea in and play together. We doubled our money today on that as well. So over all, we all won a little and had lots of fun!

WG - how fun the kids dressed up in princess dresses. I hope you got pictures for when they get older! DD is doing better physically but is still depressed they didn't do the ablation. She went in to work today long enough to do the bulletin for church on Sunday. I told her to be sure and tell her surgeon how depressed she is when she goes in for her two week checkup.

Tammy - over in the RV team we use the Team Wall a lot but no one posts on the wall for this team. Perhaps we should start a trend! Our HS breakfast is for our classmates and their spouses. Here is a picture from this month's breakfast

Hi Seesters.

After yesterday, it was so nice to have a quiet morning. I had my regular three boys, DS's four kids as it was his birthday and he wanted them here all day. I took the Dinosaur to kindergarten and picked up Snow White on the way back. That brought the number to four little ones 3 years old and then had to go back and pick up the other three. Besides all the mileage, it was crazy.

I have a small car, so DIL who stays home came and helped out a ton. I couldn't have done it without her help.

It was very fun when three of the littles got in princess dresses and played for over an hour. It was especially fun since only two of the littles are girls. The three year olds running through the house holding up their skirts and playing was very fun.

Tammy, glad you got things done yesterday. It is much nicer in life when there is order. I've spent time today cleaning and it feels much better. Got laundry to do and more cleaning, but the order is nice.

SS, your HS friend brunch sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you got to visit with the exBF's widow. I hope your DD is doing better.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Tammy, I agree, lets wait and see how long the feed will go without an post.

Have a wonderful day.

Hi, Seesters!

SOME housework chores done and ALL grading/work stuff done, so I will say yesterday was a good day.

I don't mind that I wasn't tagged in the FB pictures - just was saying noone here would be able to see them if you were so inclined. emoticon I know I enjoyed seeing LG's family in the past few days.

Weezie2, have you practiced on anything yet?

SS, what a nice morning you had! Norm went with you - was he in the same graduating class perhaps?

Does anyone else look at the team wall? I used to think "I need to put something up there" back when the last comment was less than a year old and now I think it would be interesting just to see how long it will go - LOL!

Evening Ladies!

It was such a beautiful day here today! I've been outside as much as I can. We went to my Classmate's monthly breakfast this morning. It was good to see everyone after being gone all winter. It was a really large group today. I got seated next to one of my exBF's wife. She lost her DH just a month or so. We had a nice visit and she is doing well. She remembered I used to date her DH so we had fun reminiscing and we laughed about how tall he was. It was good for both of us as it has bothered me every since I heard he passed.

I got my walking in easily today. And we got most of the leftovers eaten.

WG - I mentioned in the other thread that my DD has gotten several casseroles and desserts. Otherwise, I would have gladly shared with them. I remember when we were little and our kids too, that we would always get pretty new clothes for Easter. New black patent leather and white gloves! People just don't dress like that anymore.

Tammy - I enjoyed getting my laundry done, the house vacumned and tidied up today. I have too much company to let it go too long. I'm glad you kept the 5th wheel as the TT will be perfect for short trips and you can still enjoy the comfort of the 5th wheel at Treasure Lake!

Hi, Seesters!

Today MUST be a catch up day after the last week of looking at the travel trailer, towing it home, various "gotta do" stuff for Easter, etc. My kitchen area is a disaster and I didn't get exams handed back yesterday as I always wish to right after giving one. The world hasn't/won't end from any of it, but I do like to at least have some order to things.

SS, we didn't trade the fifth wheel - it will stay in Branson - the travel trailer is just so that we can go on little short visits to places - here is the same pic that I posted this morning on one of the RV Enthusiasts threads - note that the air conditioner cover is a key replacement emoticon -

WG, I really MUST send texts to family such as the Nigerian boyfriend posts you do emoticon

Hello to all my Seesters! Weezie2, I will be watching for those pictures of Lenni!

Hi Seesters. I'm home now from an interview. It was very nice and they were very nice. It is a 45 minute drive one way, but the environment is very nice. The workers seemed happy and the leadership seemed to mesh well. They said no word for a few weeks.

Dinner yesterday was fun. SIL brought her father who is a Russian man about my age and her son. My nephew is almost two and he and Enterprise played all afternoon. They had a great time. It was fun seeing Grandpa Yuri play with his grandson. He is a very nice man but I would expect nothing less with SIL so nice. She is leaving in June to visit her family for 3 months. They summer in a Dacha (summer house) and she may spend time doing one of her "little jobs" as an English language liaison for the University there.

My DIL's family dresses for Sunday and stays dressed up all day. It is a family custom and my DS follows it. Not worth fighting over and it helps them remember it is Sunday. My poor SIL felt terribly underdressed. I explained it wasn't a big deal, but she felt uncomfortable. I usually can't wait to get out of my dress so I wore jeans as well.

SS, sorry your DD didn't respond. Makes me crazy when the kids don't, especially if I'm worried about them. Sometimes my "group texts" are ignored as well. Then I will "send" a message to a Nigerian boyfriend or someone like that to see if the kids are reading the texts at all emoticon I still vote that you take the leftovers to them for dinner. Then you can get back to your regular meals.

Tammy, I'm glad your anniversary went well. It's nice that there are pictures on FB for you to see. Even if you weren't tagged, you know you were there. It might be enough for now. I'm glad you all have a relationship after all the problems that have been in the past.

TB, I'm so glad your house sold. It's a seller's market here and most houses are going for a ton of money over the asking price. My youngest has been looking for over a year and the houses are sold before they are listed for a single day. I'm sure your lakefront property is a gem. I loved the photos in the listing. I'm so glad you have the new house to live in now. It is such a nice place and I can see you both putting your mark on it. Looking forward to hearing about the transition and how it works out for you both.

LG, Weezies, hope your weekend was a good one.

That DIL dropped off her two kids without warning today. She was going to do her cleaning business. She came back late to take the older one to school and dumped a gas can and a bunch of stuffed animals on the lawn. She came back a couple of hours later and picked them up. She had run out of gas (no money) and had to borrow the can from a client. It then spilled on the kids stuffed toys. There was a conversation after that when she told me how well she was doing financially but mental illness (bipolar) was keeping her from being organized. It went down hill from there as she told me about clients she "flirted" with to get business. I think that has a different name to the police.

Anyway, grands are on the way and I'll have 7 at times tomorrow. Gotta get cake done and gifts wrapped. DS has a birthday tomorrow and the kids need to do something for him.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!
We enjoyed a very quiet day at home yesterday. Our son is out of the country on business and our DIL went with her family for Easter. To be honest, we never heard from my DD yesterday. I texted her and called her but she never answered either. So I don't know how she's doing.

It's a beautiful sunny day so hope to get out and enjoy it.

Tammy - it sounds like you had a very enjoyable weekend with family around and celebrating your anniversary with Joe. Where are the pictures of your new TT? Also, did you trade in the 5th wheel? Or do you now have two RV's?

TB - if you didn't price your waterfront house too low, then it's one more sign that this is the best thing for you and DH. I'm sure you are overwhelmed with all that has to be done. I sure was! I don't know if you have Two Men and a Truck where you live but they were a God send for us. We moved shortly after Norm's heart surgery and I did not want him to overdue. The movers did everything! They even placed all the furniture where we wanted it. And they have cardboard closets so they come in and take your clothes out of your old closet and transport them to the new closets. They were worth every penny they cost!

Hi, Seesters!

Another holiday weekend done - a nice time here at our homestead. Joe and I ended it with yesterday being our anniversary - we exchanged little gifts and also went to a newly opened Japanese steak house here in our little town. DD and BF came over midafternoon and we had a nice visit and a picnic type dinner. DD texted me later that she wished she didn't have to work tomorrow [today now] so they could stay longer. I was already thinking the 3 hour visit was longer than in a very long time [in a good way]. So that was a nice day to end a nice weekend.

WG, was it a nice day with DS and SIL? How old is your nephew now?

TB, so very nice the house on the water has sold. It's a wonderful thing that everything has gone as quickly as it has in your moving adventure.

LG, I enjoyed the picture of your family that I saw on FB this morning. emoticon

SS, did DD end up coming, or was she still resting?

I don't think it was under priced but ... it was bought by a couple from Toronto, where the real estate market is crazy right now. The average cost of a dumpy, detached house is 1.5 MILLION dollars and the price is still going up. I think they are in the "get it now while you can" headset. And I guess a nice place on water would look like a bargain at our price.

Happy Easter Everyone!
I guess I'm being a Bah HumBug today. I just browsed through FB and all I see is Happy Easter greetings. It's not just Easter but all Holidays that I get tired of the greetings on FB! Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes!

It is very overcast now but with a promise of sun by afternoon. We'll see and hope! I still don't know if my DD and family are joining us for dinner yet. It's too early to call them and see.

TB - what wonderful news! Makes you wonder if it was priced too low. That's what went through our minds when ours sold so quickly. At least you know where you will be moving so good luck in getting ready!

Tammy - I am going to try to make my step goals today but it will be difficult if we have company! I'm glad you enjoyed your Easter celebration.

WG - you are so busy with all the grandkids, I wonder what it will be like if and when you find a new job! Has DIL had any experience with Mixed Martial Arts! You just don't walk in the ring and become a ring/cage fighter without knowledge or experience. Another crazy idea if you want my opinion!

However you spend your Easter today, enjoy your day!

I am flying by to say hi and tell you all that our house sold ... the first day and for 5,000 dollars above asking price. Now we REALLY scramble.

Have a happy Easter, everyone.

Hi, Seesters!

How nice to read of it being such a good day for the littles, and I am sure for the rest that attended, WG! emoticon I'm going to have to look up MMA.

SS, glad to hear DD is progressing.

We had a good time yesterday - there are some pics on FB, but as of last night, DH nor I were tagged in any...the littles had fun, and it was fun to watch and we did visit some. I was also glad for a safe trip up and back - about six hours total on the road. Some of the traffic was very heavy [think I70 between Kansas City and St. Louis on a holiday weekend], but we weren't on that very long.

Have a good day! Hello to all my seesters!

Hi Seesters. I'm finally sitting down. It was a long and busy day and I didn't even hide the eggs. I decided to have some light food after the egg hunt. It would be dinner time I ran to a couple of stores and got $10 off on my frequent shopper card. It is nice and I like to patronize this store because it is a locally owned store and a big market opened a mile away.

DIL decided she wanted to "work" but posted that she was watching a movie then she went to a MMA match. She wants to be a ring/cage fighter. I guess she like the idea of the physicality of it. She told DS he could "have" the kids from about 10 this morning and they are still here but she is supposed to pick them up. They at least had fun with the cousins and he gave them a quiet afternoon.

The other kids were adorable and had a great time as well. The five littles, six today with my brother's son, had such a great time. They all played together and had a wonderful time. I'm glad they have a chance to have good memories.

SS, glad DD is feeling up to getting up. She will heal and be fine. It is hard especially with the blood she lost. Transfusions really don't help with energy. It just helps with oxygenation. It may take two or three months before she has that energy back again. Plants do cost a lot but I'm sure you will enjoy them all summer.

Tammy, hope you had a good time at the Easter party with the grands and greats. I know you will hear a different story on FB. Hope you remember the fun instead of the other stuff. Some people just don't know how to be gracious. They want to keep old hurts around and not enjoy life. Not you. Just "some people."

I'm off to bed after I do my employment stuff. The grands are supposed to go soon then I'll have a quiet house for a while. Lots of veggies and fruits left over.

Have a good night.

Good Evening!
It was such a beautiful day here that I spent most of it outside. I reached my goals for the 7th day, one whole week!

I spoke with my DD late afternoon and she is doing better than yesterday. She came downstairs from her bedroom to sit in her recliner for a few hours. She isn't very perky yet so I am not sure she is going to be ready to come over for dinner tomorrow.

We went to a nursery today and bought plants for the two window planters Norm made this week. Everything is so expensive, it cost $50 just to fill them. They look like they need more but as they grow it will be just fine.

LG - the wind was horrible here today as well and after spending all winter in the wind, I am out of patience.

Happy Easter to everyone!!

We spent 7 hours sitting and watching Brooke play ball. She did great but did pop out twice. She plays 1st base and didn't miss one ball thrown there.

Thomas and I went for 2 walks and the wind was awful but at least it was warm.

Hope all are doing great.

SS, I was glad to hear your DD got home and all way okay, in spite of not having everything done. Perhaps her periods will be less heavy with the fibroid gone.

All those loaves, LG! It sounds like you had a very productive day, as usual. Sorry about getting the wrong moisturizer.

WG, I believe there is a holiday event happening at your home today! May everyone have a happy, fun time!

We will be driving north about three hours today to be with Joe's girls and their families - about 20 people. There will be a lunch and an Easter egg hunt for his GGKs. emoticon Then we will drive back today.

Good evening, Seesters,

It's been another busy day but not at work...at the museum. I went down there and baked 28 loaves of apple bread. They are the mini loaves but still lots of work. Thomas came and helped me to wash the pans. All are in the freezer. Then we came home and went to Indy to pick up a few things. When I went to the place where I buy my make-up, the gal gave me the wrong moisturizer. Now I've got to go back with it! emoticon

Tomorrow we are going to Brooke's double header in Brown County (about 45 min. drive). Sunday everyone will be here. I still need to bake a peach cobbler but I'll get that done Sunday morning. We will attend very early morning Mass. So we'll be home long before they get here.

SS, so happy to hear that your DD is OK and like WG said the ablation will wait.

WG, you are right about the job. But it seems sad to me that you are having a hard time finding work because of your previous employment situation.

Tammy, emoticon job on driving the "glamper" and you'll learn to back it up with no problem.

Not sure that I'll be here again until Monday so if I don't make it Happy Easter to all.

I expect they can do the ablation at a later date. Just need the cervix to close up. I'm glad she is doing OK.

WG - my DD is home and sleeping. She woke for a short time when we went to see her and deliver supper for the family. She was disappointed as they couldn't do the ablation because the tumor had dialated her cervix to 4 so they removed tumor and sent it to the lab. We are hoping for good news but the best part of this whole thing was the ablation as that would do away with her periods. Now things will continue on with periods!

Hi Seesters.

Tammy, emoticon emoticon for driving home. I'm sure you will figure out how to back in. It's always hard but it can be learned. Don't ask me how. I've never learned. Good on getting exams graded.

SS, hope DD is doing well. I'm so glad you can be there for her. Sometimes it is nice to have your mom nearby.

Morning!
Just wanted to pop in before my day gets away from me. I can only assume my DD is in surgery right now! Dan will call when she's in recovery. I'm about ready to go to the store to get what I need for their dinner and cake. It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day today. Temps in the high 60's although storm moving in this evening.

Today is Day 6 of my streak. I did well yesterday until dinner with my eating. Then I overate at the Mexican restaurant we went to. Today I will have to drink lots of water to wash out the sodium from the chips and cheese!

Tammy - what kind of TT did you get, brand name and year. I was tickled to hear you brought it home and you drove! I was told that if you get to a campground you are uncomfortable to back in, they will provide someone to back it in for you. I've never had to test that, it's just what I've been told!

WG - I'm envious of your line dried clothes as nothing smells better!

Hi, Seesters!

We got the little camping trailer home yesterday and I drove it home. emoticon Joe didn't have to give me too many instructions. The only snafu was trying to back it in, but we will learn what needs to happen. Now to slowly fix it up!

Two sets of three exams are now graded. Perhaps the other set will be graded by this time tomorrow.

Hi Seesters. Had another job interview today. It went well but they admitted that my being fired made it nearly impossible to be hired. I thanked them and appreciated their time. If it is meant to be, it will be.

Saw pictures yesterday from SIL who is vacationing with her father. They were in Florida at an alligator farm. He is very Russian and has served in the military most of his life. He is a nice man. I look forward to seeing them all this weekend.

Tammy, love the idea of you not being tied down to the RV park and having the ability to travel a bit. It will be much smaller, but you can make it very cozy and fun. I can see you sewing some fun things and painting some things. A little bit here and a little bit there. It will be great fun.

DIL posted last night and pulled the "mental illness" card. I'm not sure she can excuse everything she does and blame it on her mental state.

LG, I'm glad you have all that energy. I'm sure you could use a bit of a break, though. I hope you don't get what Sharynn had/has. It's sad when people bring the black cloud with them and spread the gloom around.

Weezie2, I do hope you get that machine put together soon. Did you get the manuals out at least? It's sad that your mother will have a roommate. Hopefully she will be able to adjust and find a new friend.

SS, I'm glad that you are in town when your DD needs some help. It's scary no matter what she is having done. It is hard to have to think about it as well. Good to get it done once the decision is done.

Have a great day. I've put laundry outside to take advantage of the warm weather and the breeze. I am looking forward to fresh linens inside in a while. Then it is cleaning bathrooms.

Good Afternoon!
It has been a cold and rainy day. Norm made a batch of chili which we enjoyed a dish for lunch. The rest of it has been portioned out for individual servings and put in the freezer.

We will be leaving shortly to meet my sister at our favorite restaurant for dinner. I will try to focus on visiting more than eating!

Weezie2 - that will be hard on your mom and family to have another patient in with her. Will she go back to a private room when the update is over?

LG - yes, my DD has had very heavy periods for a long time which is coming from a very large fibroid tumor on her cervix. After the surgery was scheduled for 4/25, she started hemorrhaging at home yesterday so her DH took her to ER. The did a blood transfusion and sent her home. They called the surgeon and she said complete bed rest until tomorrow. They moved her surgery up to 8am tomorrow. It is on an outpatient basis and I am sure she will do much better and not as invasive as a hysterectomy. I will go over later tomorrow when she's back home and deliver their supper. She has requested a special Strawberry Cake I always made in the spring. So I will make her cake too. It will be a busy day for me, but you live like that normally. Your busiest time is rapidly approaching so be sure and take time for yourself.

Tammy - my DD is also big into the Essential Oils. Now that I am home, I'm sure she will try to bring me over to the oils, lol. Be sure and post pictures of your new TT. Will this replace your 5th wheel or be in addition to it?

WG - I hope the AirBorne works. Spring colds are the worst! Inviting company is one of the best ways to keep your house clean. We have no plans for Easter, so I told my DD if she is feeling up to it, they were welcome to come for dinner. I'm thinking they will as then she won't have to worry about what to make.

PJ - when we had our severe weather last, we were lucky to have no damage. Everywhere around us had wind damage and just a short ways away, they had a tornado touch down leaving a path of destruction about 1.5 miles long. The tornado went right through a campground we used to camp in every summer when the kids were still at home.

Good morning,

My allergies are still driving me crazy. I'm glad I didn't have them growing up.

I have a quarterly meeting at the nursing home today for mom. There are going to be lots of changes over there for the rest of the year, They're adding on and all the residents will be in the new building while they update the older building. Mom will have a roommate while this is going on . She hasn't shared a room with anyone since my dad died 18 years ago. I'm not looking forward to this at all.

I've been good. My new machine is still in the boxes. I told myself it would be better if I finished cleaning for Easter first. I need to run to the grocery store and pick up all the last minutes fresh stuff too. I would have a hard time not playing on it if it was set up. I'll have the little girls on Monday while Kelly sleeps but then I should have the rest of the week free.
WG you're right about having plenty of finished quilts and runners to practice on. I lost track at 30...lol

Have a Great Thursday!

Hello, ladies!

It's been such a crazy month for me so far and it's not over! First the shop hop, then the retreat weekend, and now I'm facing our biggest fundraiser at the museum. We'll be baking pies like crazy here soon! I'm really looking forward to that.

Taught an embroidery class yesterday. The morning class was fun but the afternoon class was not. One lady came in crabby and set the whole group off. Sharynn hasn't felt good since the retreat so it didn't go over well with her. I'd overslept and was rushed all day it seemed. Just not a good day for any of us! Hope that today is much better.

Tammy, congrats on your new "glamper"! Sounds like fun. Hope that your DD is doing better but I know that it is very hard.

WG, hope that your "sickies" get better and that you don't catch it.

SS, I must have missed something as I didn't know about your DD. Prayers for successful surgery.

PJ, it is nice to go away but it is also very nice to get back to our own space.

And I too agree that everyone here faces tough times but we are here for each other. It is so nice to know that I can come here and it is "normal"!!

Hi, Seesters!

WG, I totally agree about the Seesters here and remaining upbeat. There have been times that this particular team has been a lifeline for me - I would think "I've got to check in and see what everyone is doing" and that would help. AirBorne is supposed to be really good. One thing that I have done the past couple of years has been to diffuse Thieves essential oil blend in the evenings. I think that has helped DH and me a lot. DH always used to have respiratory-type stuff a couple of times a year and he hasn't now for a bit. I'm thinking it is about the same time frame that I have been using the diffuser. As for the anniversary, I thought we might try to go to a Japanese steak house that opens today here in our little town, but we made a purchase last night that we must go pick up, so that isn't going to happen today at least. Tomorrow will consist of a trip over to my mom's unless her day is all tied up already and Saturday is a trip to see DH's family. I am sure they will post pictures on FB. I shall try to avoid said pictures. LOL As for DD and your former DIL, it seems I can always "see" a manic [hopefully hypomanic] phase about to happen with FB posts. It's also like I have a sixth sense about students dealing with bipolar as well. I think I wish I didn't have said sense.

PJ, I was so scared a few years ago when I was sent to a hematologist, and that is quite the odd feeling to walk in to those offices, or at least it was to me. I evidently just had one abnormal reading as the specialist's office as well as later lab work at my PCP's office has been fine. I bet you had fun with your friends last night.

SS, I had fibroids that were discovered/removed during a D&C. That wasn't the most fun I ever had, but it really wasn't bad. The thought of it was the worst part, I guess, but I am a really weenie when it comes to anything medical. LOL I am glad it seems your DIL doesn't need a hysterectomy. I had very heavy periods for years and asked several times why my obgyn wasn't recommending a hysterectomy; I guess I am glad now that I didn't have one.

Here's my news:
We started on a kind-of-new-to-us adventure yesterday - I have shared that we got rid of our motorhome as I knew I couldn't manage it in many situations and got a fifth wheel that stays at a private park. They pull it out and put it back in storage for us. Well, we wanted to have a bit of flexibility to be able to go back to Bennett Spring and also to go back to see DS in FL, but DH wanted his own bed plus a place for the puppy when we were out and about. Long story short, we bought an older short travel trailer that seems to be in very good shape. We could do some renovating and almost be glamping. LOL Anyway, I have been listening to my BF about pulling her little Casita all by herself for the past two years and I believe I can do this. We go pick it up sometime today.

Hi Seesters. Fabio is here today. HIs mom has been taking Wednesdays off. I think she might be done working when this baby comes. They have property and a couple of small businesses on the side and she can do accounting from her home if she wants. She surprises me even thinking about staying home. My girls both think they need to work "like Mom." And I never wanted to.

I'm sucking down AIrBorne because Fabio has a cough and feels rotten. I'm waiting for the bug to spread. Besides DS kids are germ factories and Princess Purple was stuffy all the time she was here.

SS, glad your DD will have the ablation. It really isn't a hard thing at all. She should feel much better very soon. It does fix the problem with bleeding by getting rid of the fibroid and burning the uterine lining. My sister had it done and feels great.

PJ, glad your sister hasn't got cancer. It is common for hematologists to work in cancer centers. Lots of cancers are blood ones and they are pretty good at managing both. Blood letting sounds fun. Too bad it can't be donated.

I'm glad the trailer got emptied. How many pounds did you take out? Have you found the one that you want to get yet? I'm glad you are getting back to your fun activities. I'm interested in the blankets you make using scraps of yarn and knitting the blanket one square at a time while attaching it with the knitting to the next squares. It sounds like a fun way to use little bits of old yarn. I'll have to look into it soon.

Tammy, it seems strange that you are nearly done with school for the summer. It is exciting. I forget now that I don't have any college age kids. My youngest graduated a year ago December. I'm sure you will find a fun way to celebrate your anniversary even if it isn't on the exact date. Hope DD is doing well.

I thought about your DD yesterday as my DIL is pretty manic. Buying several pair of high top tennis shoes, posting a bunch of nutty stuff. Even the shenanigans of the weekend are pretty manic. But she is also narcissistic. Bad combo for sure.

LG, I'm sure you are tired. Hopefully you are catching up and will be feeling more like yourself soon.

Weezie1, embroidery machine? I'm excited and want to know what is the plan.

I've been cleaning this morning and doing my job stuff. Still looking and have an interview tomorrow and Monday. It seems hard to be unemployed but I am surviving. It's about making the best of whatever is there.

You Seesters are a great example of that. I always enjoy that you are upbeat even when life isn't going well or you don't feel your best.

I'm going to play with Fabio a bit then we will be vacuuming the other side of the living room. He has his stuff spread out and is playing so it takes a bit more maneuvering to make things work.

My SIL is coming up on Friday. I invited her and her son to hunt Easter Eggs on Saturday with us. Her father is visiting from Russia. He is the nicest man. I love both of her parents. He has been spending a few weeks with his grandson. I thought it is a good time to do a bit of freshening up. I've got a few other things to get done but will try to make it work out.

Have a great day.

SIL appointment went well. Her iron levels were extremely elevated and the doctor did another blood workup (haven't heard yet) and said it was from her RA and meds she takes. He wants her back in 3 months if tests don't show anything different and will do a blood letting about every month as he says that usually takes the levels down temporarily.

She was so scared as they sent her to the KU Cancer center so she didn't know what was going on but this doctor was a cancer doctor as well as a hemotologist.

We have the trailer totally cleaned out and I have mowed the front yard once got out yesterday and weeded my flowerbed. Started back to my fitness classes this week and my knitting group has started again. I am so glad to getting back to me again.

We have been driving through areas close to us that got that horrible tornado damage while we were gone. Just missed us.

Weezie I am so glad you got your delivery straightened. It seems the older I get the less crap I take and am better at speaking my mind

LG that retreat sounds like a lot of fun but a lot of work so it is understandable Sharynn isnít going to do it anymore. Glad you and Weezie were able to help them with it.

SS so glad to hear that DD surgery will not be as extensive as they originally thought. That is good news

WG How is DS and the divorce coming along. I hope it is finished so things can finally settle down with the custody arrangements. That had to be a scary situation with the suicide so close and confusing for the kids.

Good Morning!
I am well into my walking for my streak. Today is Day 4 of my MiniChallenge. I see Tammy is doing well and a couple of her FaceBook Friends are also joining us! So get off our duff and get some walking in!

My first walk with Nala is done. It is sunny and pretty but it is colder than it looks. My ears and nose got cold.

WG - My DD is scheduled for surgery on 4/25. She has a huge fibroid tumor on her cervix but they think they can remove it and then do an Endometrial ablation as the tests show her uterus looks good. So it is on an outpatient basis and recovery should be minimal. So that should do away with her bleeding and yet is far from the complete hysterectomy they were considering. So it sounds good. Things are so much better now than when I had my issue 35 yrs ago!

Hi, Seesters!

Today is an exam day - there will be one more of those after today plus finals, so I can't complain, but it's a tiring day for me. I will be sure to get my little minichallenge in, though!

WG, potty training! How old is the little guy? As for anniversary plans, less than usual since it is Easter Sunday as well. DD wanted to come over, so any potential plans kind of fizzled, even though it wouldn't have been a huge thing anyway.

Hi Seesters. I'm home with the boys today. The younger DGS is potty training. I've mopped up a puddle on my bathroom floor and have a bag of clothes to send home. He is wearing "emergency" undies right now. I'll have to wash the rugs and clean the bathroom but will wait until tomorrow when DS sends his kids back to their mother's. Then I'll have a cleaner bathroom for a few days. emoticon

Weezie2, I'm glad the machine is where it needs to be. What a bother! It's interesting how little people want to do at times. I'm sure you will enjoy the extra hands to get it all put together right and safely. Looking forward to hearing how it works out. You have lots of "tester" quilts to work on so it will be fun for you. Enjoy the girls today.

LG, glad the retreat went well. It sounds like a lot of fun. Looking forward to photos. It was a lot of time and work, so I'm glad you aren't worried about responding. Glad the quilt got mailed out.

SS, tornado? Sounds scary. Spring is interesting, isn't it?

Tammy, how fun to celebrate an anniversary with someone else. I'm sure you will enjoy celebrating that in common in the future. It gives you a connection. Are you doing something fun for your anniversary?

There was a suicide between the elementary and junior high this morning. They locked down the school as is policy. It is a bit scary to have something violent happen where your family is and to have them locked inside while things are resolved is unsettling. I've got 5 grands attending the elementary school. I pick up the Gunslinger from kindergarten. I was a bit concerned that they would keep him there and not let him out, but he was dismissed without a problem. He was concerned as they couldn't go outside for recess and there were "walls" up around the site. I've not talked to him about what happened but he is fine now.

Have a great day.

Good Afternoon
We had severe thunderstorms last night and even a tornado touchdown! Luckily no one was injured but a lot of property damage! That's what happens when you drop from 80 degrees to 50 degrees! Today is cold in the 40's but no severe weather expected.

Weezie - I am glad you got that delivery guy straightened out! I can't imagine anyone accepting curb side delivery on such an order. But, now it's home and you just need to figure out how to get it assembled.

LG - I don't blame you for not going to GD's game in the rain! Today is our youngest GS's birthday so we will drive over and drop off his card with some money for him. I really enjoyed reading about your retreat summary. Sounds like an active, busy weekend!

Tammy - that is quite the story about your "twin" anniversaries! Especially since it is someone you enjoy.

WG - I don't envy you all the drama you deal with but you seem to do well in spite of it. I hope you enjoyed some quiet time with your GD.

Yes my new toy arrived yesterday. I may try to put it together but it looks like something that will be a lot smoother with an extra set of hands. It came in 7 boxes weighing from 40# up to 100#

The delivery company was a nightmare. The guy had no business telling me what he was paid to do when I knew otherwise. Before I bought my machine I talked with the store and the company to make sure it would not be an issue to have it delivered to my lower level. I have a walk out basement. When I set up the delivery on Friday I talked with this guys boss and he assured me it wouldn't be a problem. The delivery guy tried to tell me that it was a curb side delivery and that anywhere else was an additional fee. I was not having it. He called his boss while I called APQS. The shipping department called his contact with the delivery company and got it straightened out. I am not going to believe that people accept delivery at the curb from a freight company. This Weezie is usually easy going but don't try to put one over on her.

The guy apologized when he was finished for the misunderstanding. BS lazy butt didn't want to do his job.

I have my girls today.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Good morning. I'm getting ready for work. Need to get a few things done. Wanted to stop by here.

Tammy, that's nice that you now know some one who has the same anniversary.

It's raining here but warm. Brooke has a game tonight but if it is raining I won't go.

Hi, Seesters!

As it is Tuesday again, it is piano lesson day! I always enjoy those.

I was talking about my upcoming anniversary with the dean's secretary yesterday morning when a colleague walked by and said "Your anniversary was Sunday?" I answered with "No, this Sunday - Easter!" She then asked if I was married on an Easter Sunday, which I was. We discovered that we were both married on the same Easter Sunday afternoon 22 years ago. What a fun way to begin my day. The colleague is a fun lady, and it will be nice to celebrate our "anniversary twinness" together each year that we are both there. LOL

LG, I enjoyed your recap of the retreat.

WG, is there progress on the harrassment suit?

SS, I know just what you mean about feeling closer to some because of their personality traits. In my case, I am closer to those that do what they say. So many times I have had a "we're going to come see you" that I'm still waiting for years later emoticon - I am closer to those that actually show up.

Weezie2, did your new toy show up yesterday? Fun times await!

The retreat is history and yes, WG, it was the last one for Sharynn. She and Darrell just feel it is too much and very hard work for them. They are both 70. Besides that the store is so busy it is hard to take so much merchandise out and then keep the store open for business. I learned first hand how hard it really is as I helped her pack at the store and then on Thursday night Weezie and I both helped to get it all inside the lodge. On Friday morning, we helped to put it all out for display.

We had a great time it was just too short! Weezie got here on Thursday about 2 p.m. and came to the store as I was working. I was hoping to be off work at 2 but didn't get out of there until after 3. Then we came here and picked up the last of my things (still forgot a pair of jeans, a light jacket and our case of water!). We left and got to the lodge after stopping at a quilt shop. Sharynn and Darrell got there about 7 and we helped them. Friday morning we helped to set up the sewing room. We discovered that we'd forgotten a bunch of stuff from the store so Weezie and I went back and got it and pick up what I forgot. Finally got to sew about 1p.m.! I did get my baby quilt done and it was mailed off this morning.

Saturday is somewhat of a blur as Weezie and I stayed in the sewing room on Friday night until about 11:30. I had told Sharynn to go to bed and get some rest but the ladies wanted her to stay and visit with them. Everyone knew it was her last one. On Saturday evening we did show 'n' tell and then did an Easter Bonnet Parade! It was so much fun and some of the hats were a hoot. One lady and her sister took a very large bra and cut it in half and made a couple of hats out of them! I took pictures with Sharynn's phone so I don't have any of them. I'll try to get some from her phone and send them to mine and then post them.

Sunday morning Weezie and I helped Sharynn take down and pack all the merchandise. We left about 11:30 and came back here and Weezie picked up her "new" machine! Thomas and I went to Carmen's bb game. They won and it was nice to get back home and relax. Spent today at SVDP and had lunch with a friend. Did a bit of gardening and doing laundry.

I won't comment on all the posts. Just know that I did read them.
