I started to do this earlier and well what can I say, I didn't.

Don't get me started on the fiberglass. Yes they have protective stuff, "but it's tooo hot." This is said in a whine baby voice, by the way. He doesn't grind it so no respirator, but they do have them if that's what you do. He is making, what sounds to me, like molds. You take the fiberglass, lay it on the resin, then smooth it out, it then cooks. That's all I know. Says he loves it and the graveyard shift. I think he has a screw gone, not loose, just gone.

I did take time off and go to the movies yesterday, and today all I did was go to church and the laundry mat, there was plenty of left over food so not much cooking, no tomorrow..........

Ladies have a great evening.

Well, either my computer is working again or SP is!! Got lots of things to get done. Got the sheets done and the towels are finishing. I still need to iron the church laundry. I'm baking the Blueberry Coffee Cake that I saw on Facebook. Hope it is good.

It has rained (stormed) all morning. Got problems with my Jeep. It'll go to the garage on Tuesday. Hope it isn't serious. I'm tired of car problems!!

SS: your pictures are beautiful and you look great! Remember that the camera adds pounds to a person. So quit worrying about it. You are doing great with your eating plan. Lexi is a beautiful bride.

WG, glad you got to spend time with your other kids and doing something that is fun.

Weezie2, your puppy is adorable. I would have one but with working and all the traveling with the grandkids it really isn't possible.

Tammy, love cucumbers and onions with vinegar and sugar. Don't make it very often because Thomas doesn't like it and no one else does either. They don't always agree with me either!

SEK, I some times wish I had your energy!! Then other times I'm glad to just sit down and wait for it to pass!!!

Ok, I need to get a move on and get all the laundry finished and head to the grocery store.

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Weezie2 - Kami can't be 7 already! I remember when she was born and it doesn't seem that long ago. So congrats on your new black lab. I'm glad you got it from a rescue. How old is she? What does that bring your pet total to? You have a dog already and how many cats? We'll have to start calling you "The Pet Lady"

Tammy - thanks for the compliment on the wedding. My GD whispered to me that she hoped it didn't look too cheap. However, she proudly told me they spent less than $1,000. There was no sense of being cheap in my mind. I think it was mature to spend what they could afford and not ask their parents for money. Now it's over and they are just as legally married as her brother who spent $60,000 on their wedding last December!

WG - yes, my DD is a professional photographer so she took most of the wedding pictures. It is difficult to be Mother of the Bride and photographer so one of her friends from the camera club volunteered to take pictures where the Mother of the Bride should be in. I think Lexi will have beautiful photo's of her special wedding day. Did I mention they wrote their own vows, which had us laughing as well as teary eyed.

I sure hope the DIL doesn't have a car breakdown. Does she let the kids ride not buckled up? Once again I am shaking my head.

Wow have I been missing in action. Sorry

I can't believe my Kami is 7 today. It only seems like yesterday when she was born.

Sharon the wedding pictures are wonderful.

I have a new addition to my family. I adopted a little black lab. Her name is Hope. I got her from a rescue a few hours north of me. She slept almost all he way home laying next to Kami in the back seat. She has made herself quite comfortable already. Of course she's exploring everywhere and the cats are giving her the silent treatment. I was so happy she slept in the large dog crate last night without making a sound. She's back to exploring and Felix (my cat) is not happy about that at all.

Have a Great Sunday!

Hi, Seesters!

SS, lovely pictures. Thank you for sharing.

WG, small bits of time seem to work best for me with most things - still very interesting to me how that has happened. I actually disposed of some things yesterday that I once thought I never would. And it felt pretty good!

We are having a much better weekend than this time last weekend when Joe was reporting that he was in severe pain with his hip. Tylenol is good. A flare easing off is good. He sees the specialist 8/1 so maybe there will be more options then.

Hi Seesters. Two oldest kids and their families just left. They both came by spontaneously and we ended up playing cards. DIL#1 was doing genealogy.

SS, the wedding looked lovely. It's good that they are so in love. Lovely bridal party. I liked your photo as well. I don't ever think I look good for the camera. The interesting part is that it doesn't always see the changes but the "imperfections." You look great. Face, legs looking good. I'm sure glad you are sticking with your eating plan. Love the refreshments and the bridal party. They did a good job.

Did your DD do any of the pictures for the wedding besides the slide show?

Weezie1, hope the headache is better. Enjoy your weekend.

Tammy, I'm glad the cukes are looking good. I like the little ones as well. I like to "seed" them and eat them in a salad. Chunks of them. Sometimes I like to salt them and eat them plain but not often. Sounds like a good idea, a little at a time. I start with a little then the big stuff has to move and I'm nowhere ready. I end up having to go through things after I've done the work. It's a bother for sure.

SEK, you are one busy lady. I agree about the fiberglass. It's a mess. I hope he has a respirator to wear while working there. Don't they have protective clothing as well?

LG, hope you have a good weekend.

I ended up not going to the sewing room. I had too many other things going on.

Eating the first of the corn tomorrow. It is nice to have it. Then we are having fireworks for the other July holiday. Our statehood day is early January and celebrating now is much more fun.

DS#3 is out with one of his good friends. DIL took the kids to a swimming/hot springs resort for the weekend. Her Instagram photo of them leaving has the six year old on his knees in the back seat and the three year old not buckled in at all. The car doesn't start regularly and has been broken more often than not the last two weeks. That makes traveling over 100 miles away a smart move. But such is our lives. DS needs a break so he doesn't go crazy worrying about the kids.

Have a great day.

Good Evening!

The wedding went really well and it was beautiful. Although Lexi came down the aisle bawling her eyes out. I have never seen a bride in such a meltdown. But my DD did a wonderful slide show about Arty and Lexi alternating pics of them from newborns to the present. That in itself had people tearing up already and then Lexi's tears really got the soft of heart tearing up. It was a two kleenex wedding for me! The wrote their own vows and they got to me. I have a couple pics I would like to share.

I felt good about myself until I saw my picture! After that I had no problem avoiding the cupcakes and candy.

So it was a great day and Lexi was glowing! I never saw a groom so smitten. He never took his eyes off Lexi from the minute she walked in and all during the ceremony. He certainly was lovestruck!

Afternoon all,

Just a quick note as I need a nap in a big way. Have a headache so a little nap is in order.

Been a busy morning but feel like I've gotten a few things done. I always feel better when I accomplish things. I can't keep up with Judy however, and won't try. LOL

WG, enjoy the visit and hope you're doing well.

SS, do hope the wedding goes well and you report back on how the dress fits. I didn't notice how much you lost. I'm a little disappointed in my numbers but I lost so I will keep at it. I know I had too much sodium yesterday. Logging is a must even if it I don't like the end results. I'm my own worst enemy.

Pat, hope your weekend is going well and do hope you enjoy the kids. Like that's a problem. LOL

Okay, I'm off to nap. Hello to all and will check back later.

Morning - the rain has moved out (hopefully) so Lexi's Wedding Day is looking to be quite nice. I'm not to far from getting up to start getting ready! With my weight loss this week, hopefully my dress will be fitting nicely.

Tammy - do you know exactly when they will come with the flooring? I see you doing a little each day with a mad dash at the end. That would be what most would do. Our little cherry tomatoes were goo in our spinach salad for dinner yesterday. I still have so boughten ones as well so we'll be eating lots of cherry tomatoes!

SEK - I think I keep busy until I read what you do! I like being retired and moving at my own pace. We hope Nala is done growing as 8 lbs is manageable but she loves to be held and even 8 lbs gets heavy!

WG - thanks for your kind thoughts about a sunny day. It looks like most of rain is going south. It's not exactly sunny yet but hoping it will be. If not, this is better than pouring rain.

Hi, Seesters!

Judy, I need some of your "mean", I guess. I would get more done.

WG, no window replacement - a regulator needed replaced, whatever that means. Yes, it was "cool" to have that window down back in the day, wasn't it? LOL I had forgotten about that.

SS, I wish I had planted some cherry tomatoes. Perhaps next year. I installed a fence portion for my cucumbers to climb and really like that the vines aren't all over the place. I may do that with zucchini next year. I missed the date to plant them.

I continue to make small strides daily toward the organizing/streamlining in advance of the carpet and vinyl installation. I plan to make more small strides today. LOL

Good morning.

To answer a question. My days off, mean work at home, no rest, I'm tooooo mean. Yesterday it was mowing, shopping, and taking Molly to the groomer. Sharon she is 35 pounds, wish it was 8, Spark needs to come up with a pet diet, I'd enroll her. LOL! Today it's moving sand and putting in short post so we can drape tarps over the strawberries, they are not liking the afternoon sun, can't say that I blame them. I think I'm going to see Valarian with my oldest son today, we were talking about it last night. Tomorrow it's church and taking Joshua's laundry to the laundry mat. He has a job working in fiberglass and I'm not putting that in my washer and dryer. This is how I spend my 3 days off every week.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Hi Seesters. It will be hot today but not as hot as last week. It is more humid, though. We've been getting "sprinkles" at night but only enough to dirty the windows.

I'm still getting round yellow birds hitting my windows.

Tammy, hope the AC continues to work. Are they replacing the car window? I know it won't roll up, but it is miserable to drive around with a window down. Not like when it was cool when we were young.

SS, I hope the weather smiles for the time of the wedding. If it is likely to rain, then let it rain before and later but not when the wedding is going on. A bit of sunshine is a good thing.

LG, enjoy the grands. They are growing up so fast.

Have a wonderful day. I'm off to visit Jack so I can get the baby blankets finished. The babies are due between late August and mid September. The ones due in August are twins and that is the 37 week mark.

Morning!
Another very hot & humid day here as well. They took the rain out of the forecast for today but 70% chance tomorrow on Lexi's Wedding Day. I'm sure she would prefer a sunny day but she's just so ready to be married I doubt it will bother her.

WG - Nala did well at the Vet appt but she does have a yeast infection in her ears which we suspected. We keep doing the drops and it goes away and then returns with a vengeance. I suspect we stop the meds too soon. The vet said to do it for two weeks, morning and night. In the past we did it once a day for one week! She got two shots and she too has gained since her last visit. She is up to 8.8 lbs! The dr said she is not overweight just still growing.

Tammy - Norm brought in our first cherry tomatoes from his garden but the blood tomatoes aren't ready yet! We have a green pepper almost ready to pick.

LG - have fun with the GK's today!

Hi, Seesters!

We have another level of a heat advisory for the next two days...ugh...but as long as my AC doesn't malfunction, it will be fine, won't it?

I made a bit of progress of readying the house for the carpet/vinyl installation yesterday and need to make more today before I take the car to the garage to "fix" the window that won't go up. I still don't know when this installation will happen.

I made a green tomato relish yesterday from green tomatoes and onions from my garden plus some other produce. It had been a few years since I had made it. We enjoyed some as a side last night.

Have a good day!

Hi Seesters. It's been a nice and quiet day. I had an interview this afternoon. It was about 45 minutes one way to get there. It was a nice interview and would be a good place to work. I've got another interview on Monday.

LG, that's a lot of machines to fix. I got my very old Bernina out for Grandma's sewing camp. It was perfect when I got it cleaned and still works very well but no bells or whistles. It wasn't as much fun for the kids to use.

I'm glad you got that bag made before class. It helps to know what you are doing. Is class later this week?

Have fun with the grands tomorrow. I'm sure both the kids will enjoy the time with you.

SS, how was Nala's appointment? Hope the rain let up so you could go on your walks.

Judy, what are you doing during your days off?

I'm doing some serious thinking about things. I'll share with you when I can. Got to get some sewing done after I visit with Jack and take out what I "made" earlier. I will make some crocheted squares before that, though.

Have a fun day everyone.

I'm back....we had a very busy day and I'm tired. Before we opened at 10 this morning a man was there with a Serger that needed repair. Then 4 others brought in machines. Two of them wanted them repaired on the spot! We don't work like that but Darrell accommodated them.

Sharynn and I played with our machines today and made a small zippered coin purse. All done in the hoop. It wasn't as easy as it looked as one of the "steps" isn't really a step! But it makes you think it is. But a least we learned that before the class next month!

Glad that I have tomorrow off but the 2 GKs will be here. I'm guessing that before it gets too hot, Luke and Thomas will be playing with the trains. Carmen and I will be baking. Not sure what but I'm sure it'll be cookies.

I hoping to get back to my sewing room some time this weekend. It might happen but again it might not!!

See y'all tomorrow morning.

Good Rainy Morning!
Yup, (sorry SEK) but it is raining here and we also need it really bad so not complaining. It's nice to have rain without thunder, lightning and wind!

We are off to community coffee this morning. I am taking my Meal Replacement Bar to eat while the other munch down on homemade muffin and other things. I'll be OK as long as I can eat too!

Then we have to take Nala to the vet for her annual checkup and shots. I imagine she'll be low key after the shots. Time will tell.

Hi Ho it's off to work I go. Sometimes I do feel like one of the dwarfs.

It's hot and we could use some rain but doesn't look like it will happen soon, what am I saying, it's Kansas, it'll change it's mind in 2 minutes.

This is our last work day of the week, don't know what the weekend holds.

Have fun with Ava and good luck on the placement issues.

Take care y'all, got to go.

Evening all,

Just a quick note while I wait on DH whose talking to the delivery guy about the new lawnmower. I'm still kinda shocked as he doesn't usually make impulsive purchases so kind of interesting to me. LOL

Once done we'll head up to his daughter's house as she was kind of enough to snag Ava for us so we could get her tonight rather than noon tomorrow as her mom wouldn't get out of bed any earlier seeing she doesn't work till 2. This way she can come spend the night, relax and do some catch up on her rest which is minimal, and spend the day with grumpa tomorrow. He'll see she naps as well. This is the place she can come to recharge as we don't drag her all over and she can just chill. Anyway, it will be nice. Haven't seen her since last Thursday and it was a brief one. We'll also be able to get the soccer registration done so I do hope that means no 'move' is in the near future. One never knows.

Work is interesting with the power struggles. They are laying carpet tonight and my co-workers and I plan to go over in the morning to tape things off as to how we envision the 'new' layout. The outfit we asked to come in and do hasn't been a bit of help so, we are proposing what we see to then find out if we can manage to make it happen considering electrical, etc. Just makes far more sense to us. Too bad no one wants to listen to those of us that work there. Typical I guess.

Very hot and humid here and rain has made its way here. Nothing bad but with the heat, it sure is steamy out there. Next two days should see the 90's as well. DH loves it, I hate it! Oh well, it is short-lived here in Michigan.

Okay, hope you all had a great day. Talk to you later.

Hi Seesters. It's afternoon. Am expecting DIL and some grands soon. They are fun to visit with and we enjoy doing things together. I've had a quiet morning after the grands left. They are cute kids and I'm enjoying them so much more when I have a bit more space. They like it better as well.

Tammy, I do enjoy hearing about the adaptations and decisions you are making to improve your life. It is good that you are prepared to take care of the yard now. It is especially true with Joe's hip pain. If he can repair it or heal, it will be easier for you. This sort of pain will interfere with "glamping" as well, won't it? Stairs are hard when hips hurt. I'm voting for a replacement if the doctor recommends it. It makes such a difference. Most people have less pain after surgery than they did before and it is sometimes hard to remember to advance activity slowly.

How are the crock pot recipes going?

Hope the window is fixed. I take a book to read or read one on my phone. It works better than chatting with someone else. I hate the noise of some places. I try to have someone pick me up when I can.

Weezie1, good for you getting the carb thing going again. I'm glad the cpap is helping you as well. Hope you got Ava registered for Soccer. It's good for little ones to have a predictable life. They need that security and if parents don't provide it, someone has to so the child has a chance.

Love that your DH has a new lawn mower. It's a good deal if someone else is able to store the mower. I'm glad he is able to let you take care of those sort of things and is happy that it works out. Nothing worse than someone who is stubborn and resistant to good changes.

LG, it's got to be hard for the kids to go back when it's still hot and summery. My grands who attended year round school last year started July 25 and ended July 3. It's hard on them as well. I'm glad they will be here next year and not attending year round.

Judy, painting an empty house is a good one. It's so much easier.

Gotta go and get something done. I've got laundry waiting for a quiet day. May have to wait until tomorrow. The local produce stand is now open and corn is calling my name. I love it.

Have a great day ladies. I'll try to make it back tomorrow. It's too hard to keep up if I'm gone more than a day or so.

Didn't make it this morning, not working at the bosses house so we can go to work early and beat the heat.

We are cleaning up a rental house, actually this one isn't too bad, should be finished tomorrow which is also our last day to work for the week. emoticon

Sharon our "pizza" sounds very yummy.

Weezie your hubby will love the John Deere, my dad did.

Take care y'all.

Afternoon!
Gosh, the morning went so fast! I didn't even get my Sparking done and it was time for WA. The pool was wonderful this morning and I got a good workout. Only one exercise bothered my leg so I didn't do it. My leg is getting a little better every day. I am still wearing the brace and faithfully doing the exercises. They both help and I swear my LC/HF diet eliminates inflammation which it also a big help.

I am sticking to the low carb and when you first go on it, it's fun as I can make all my favorites and I'm not tired of them. Today I made a Meatza Pizza for lunch. You just flatten out 1/4 lb ground beef in a small oven proof dish. The I put salt, pepper, garlic and hot pepper flakes on it and baked for 10 min. While it was baking, I cut up onions, red peppers and olives. When it comes out of the oven, I topped it with 2 tbsp pizza sauce, then the onions, pepper and olives. I also put 1/2 serving (7 slices) of pepperoni cut up on it and topped it all with 1/3 cup shredded mozzarella & sharp cheddar mixed. Another 10 mins in the oven and it's ready to eat. It's one of my favorites and one Norm enjoys as well. It's good when I find dishes he likes too. I try to make one meal a day we both can eat and the rest of the time he's on his own! I will probably have a shake for dinner.

Hi, Seesters!

Weedeating is done for a week or so, so lawn looks pretty good. We have made it as easy as possible for me to do things - riding mower, and a Toro "machine" that is so much easier than the regular weedeaters - until I cannot. Hopefully that's a long time! LOL I'm kind of resting until going on to the next thing of the day. Part of the rest of the day will be going to the local Ford garage to get our driver's side window fixed - I tried to crack it two days ago to help the car not be so hot with the heat and it went all the way down in a whoosh and then wouldn't go back up. Of course, the garage was behind and couldn't get it when I wanted it in. emoticon

Ok...have rested long enough...on to the next thing!

Hello, ladies!

Had a very busy day yesterday at the store & then we stayed late & sewed. I took the big machine & did some experimenting! It was fun.

WG, don't get too worn out!

Sharon, any relief? Hope so!

Weezie, I think I'd be tempted to slap her into the next county!

SEK, I hate painting so I don't do it! But it is great exercise. Loved your pics on Instagram!

PJ, enjoy your get away! Has Frank ever heard from his doc?

Tammy, Joe will be very happy if he does do a hip replacement. My sister had both if hers done & you would never know it. But at his age he'll take a bit longer to heal.

Got to get ready for work!

Good evening Seesters. I've been a busy bee and it isn't ending. I've got to do some business in the next couple of days and didn't even have time to look at it today. I've also got phone messages to return as well as take care of some other things.

Weezie, enjoy registering Ava. I worry about a lot of things with an older man as a "boyfriend." But I worry about any boyfriends and young girls.

SS, glad you are getting a walk with Nala. I like the brace. Is it helping?

PJ, have fun getting away. Don't blame you with all the mess.

Tammy, glad Joe doesn't have a broken hip but it sounds like the same thing might happen. Most people who have joint replacements are so much more mobile and less painful that they wish they had done it years ago. Hips tend to hurt a lot less than knees and shoulders, so it might be a good deal for him. He may need to spend a week or so in a rehab place to get mobile enough to take care of his needs. Recovery time ends up being the same.

Love your produce updates. It's so fun to hear of your treats coming ripe.

I've got to get back to doing business. Hopefully it will get better this week.

Have a great day.

Evening all,

Came to track my food for the day and decided I MUST check in and say hello. HELLO!!!

Work continues to be interesting as we are displaced and so trying to function is always interesting. Enough said, I could write a book about things. Moving on......

Should see Ava tomorrow as we sign her up for soccer. I hope this means no move is in the near future though mama is with the new guy whose turning 46, shes 30. I hope she doesn't live to regret, nor does he, as she wants another child. I wanna slap her!!!

DH decided it was time for a new lawn tractor. We bought a used one when we moved here 9 years ago and yesterday, he shocked the heck out of me and bought a new John Deere. We mow about 2.5 acres and so hopefully it will make it easier. He's a terrible owner of things like cars and motorized vehicles (lawnmowers) so he'll have this place pick up in the fall, store it for the winter, service in the spring and return it to him. We've come a long way baby. The man who struggles to spend $$ but is happy to let me! I think that's a win-win. LOL

Okay, now I need to get some paperwork done so I'm ready for tomorrow. Gotta have a bunch of stuff printed off to register her for soccer. Boy has this changed too!

Hope you all had a good day. emoticon

Have 2 more walls in the bathroom to paint but that will have to wait until Frank finishes some things and gets the stool out of my way and back where it belongs.

Been canning green beans the last two days. Were down to our last 3 jars in the pantry so needed to replenish. Have also been getting pea pods and fresh tomoatoes. Had our first BLT's of the season.

We have decided to run away in the 5th wheel finally. Going a couple hours from home just to give it a try and escape the mess at home. Leaving tomorrow and coming back home on Friday. Hot and dry here up to possibly 100 the next 3 days.

Hi, Seesters!

LOL about my garden updates - I picked some green beans and a cucumber to take to my BF today as we are meeting for lunch and wanted to share "fresh" - so there's my update emoticon

Joe did indeed hear back from the doctor - "severe" arthritis - and he is being sent to a specialist. His SD swears they will go for a hip replacement. We will see. He has said he will never do that, but he also said he would never have another dog, and it was all of two weeks before we had Sugar Dog. LOL At this point, we are just glad it wasn't a fracture which was one of the possibilities.

I've been outside doing some streamlining before mowing later in the day. I came inside and cleaned up and will be leaving here in a bit for the lunch with my BF and piano following.

Morning!
I've been very pleased with my progress so far this week. But, it is so time consuming to exercise, cook & track! I didn't realize how lax I have been until I got my act together! BUT, I am determined to lose the weight I have regained! Kick me in the butt if I slack off again!

SEK - whatever you are doing, I'm sure you're getting plenty of exercise. Stay mindful of your eating and you should have a good loss this week!

LG - School is starting Aug 2???? What is the reason for that? Is it public school or do they attend a Catholic school? Oh well, years ago the kids got the three months off to help their parents on the farm for haying and harvesting. Not many kids help out on farms any more so perhaps the kids don't need so much time off in the summer. It would be nice if they would get a couple weeks off between semesters. Our Japanese exchange students said in Japan they have three semesters with a vacation break between each semester. Oh, and BTW, Japanese students attend school on Saturday's as well.

Tammy - I hope Joe got some answers at his dr appointment. I chuckle at Norm as everyday he announces how his garden is doing. According to him when I bought tomatoes at the store, he informed me that I shouldn't have to buy anymore as our tomatoes are about ready to pick!

Good morning.

Don't know what I'm doing today. Don't think it's painting.

Sharon my boss has hydrangea and they start out kind of green and then as the bloom ages changes from pink to blue, she cut me a bunch last year, they are pretty no matter what color.

Got to move the hose, watering my baby grass and I don't want it to die this year.

Take care and Lily I would have left the sewing for reading as well.

I've had another lazy day here.....went to chapel, SVDP and then had lunch with a friend at a new café here in town. Came home and went to my sewing room but I just gave up and came down and read on my book! I really need to get into that room in the early morning and stay there until dinner time!

We are going to get Luke and Carmen on Friday so they can spend the day. They all go back to school on August 2nd. Is that unreal or what??? Can't believe that summer vacation is almost over. Brooke is still working and will work until almost the day to go back. She will start fall softball some time in September. EGADS!!!

Tammy, you sure do work hard at your garden. Between the bugs and the deer I gave up and went to the farmer's market. Sorry about Joe. Hope he finds something that helps. Does he need a new hip, knee?

Sharon, at least yours blooms. I have 2 that won't bloom at all. I'm digging them out come fall. I'm over messing with them.

Hope everyone had a great day. I've got lots to do before tomorrow and heading back to work.

Hi, seesters!

The ripe tomato is in the house and there is a BLT on our menu plan for tomorrow emoticon I had missed a cucumber one day and so picked one that was somewhat bigger than the other two, which are the size I prefer. The large one will be good in a vinaigrette regardless. It wasn't huge.

We have another doctor appointment for Joe this morning. Even with his usual maintenance dose for his arthritic knee, he is having "severe" left hip pain. Those are his words. It's with his PCP's NP, so I don't know if he will be that pleased when he is done as he is kinda cranky about such things, but he didn't want to go to Urgent Care or the ER. His PCP will look over the "satisfaction" completed email anyway. He hasn't really had any health issues until lately, so I guess we can't complain, but it seems everything is "severe" or a "10 out of 10" when scaled, as per his report, so it is very different for us. He doesn't hurt when sitting or when in bed, it is walking that is the problem. He tried to avoid walking all day yesterday except when going to the bathroom. Sigh.... I am glad the youngest SD saw it first hand, though. She mentioned privately that he seemed to be in worse shape that when she saw him in June. I would agree. We'll just do the best we can, eh?

I will go work on my To Do list prior to needing to leave for the appointment. Have a good day!

Morning!

SEK - when we purchased this house, the hydrangea's were a beautiful blue color. By the time we moved in, the bush was almost dead due to a drought that summer. So Norm cut back the dead. It comes back beautiful every year, but not blue! We have read up on what to do and have tried everything from coffee grounds to the acid. Instead of getting darker, the blooms continue to get lighter. The strange thing is that the PH level in the soil is right where they suggest. Oh well, I'll just enjoy the pink!

Completed day two on LC/HF and I can feel I am in ketosis this morning as I have to Keto breath going. Now working on day 3!

Norm is busy fixing the siding on one of the houses kitty corner from ours. After the siding is repaired he is going to power wash the whole house. They are new residents and the park promised they would do that, thus is doing it for the park and they pay for his hours.

Good Morning.

Thought I was done at the bosses for a couple months, but now she wants a wall repainted a different color, just doesn't like it, I'd like to paint her face one day.

Sharon what color are your hydrangeas supposed to be? If it's blue you have to add acid to the soil to get them that color.

Got to go, the dog just put all her balls under the desk and I have to retrieve them, or listen to her growl at the desk for the next 30 minutes.

Take care and have a good one.

Morning!
I am happy with yesterday so today I am hoping to continue the streak. It's another beautiful day here in Zeeland so Nala and I have walked twice already.

I tried to get Nala to come to bed and play with me like our normal routine and she didn't want any part of roughhousing. She laid beside me and went right to sleep. I was puzzled but Norm thinks it is because I took her walking so much yesterday and we haven't been walking so he thinks she was just really tired!

WG - I have a BeActive brace which is for sciatic nerve issues. I don't like wearing it but if it is my sciatic nerve, perhaps it will help.

LG - I am having a relaxing day myself today. Other than my walking, I'm not doing much. I hope to finish another book I am reading. It does take me longer to make meals on this Way Of Eating and I want to run and get more low carb foods. So maybe I won't have time to read after all

Tammy - I understand about the coworkers becoming friends. I am still friends with one of my coworkers from about 20 years ago. My last job we all got along but I would often tell Norm we were all so different, I didn't think we would be friends outside the work place. It turned out to be true as we don't keep in touch at all. When we moved, I brought along some of my favorite cookbooks but I don't think I've used them in five years! It's so much easier to google something on the internet.

Weezie - that's about how much I sleep every night. If I sleep less, I'm a grump! Today is a whole new day for carb counting - you can do it!

I'm being a bit lazy this morning. Have gone to the grocery, almost all the laundry is done & I'm getting ready to bake a cake! Then I'm really going to get lazy & sit on the couch & read my new book. I should get up stairs to the sewing room but I'm not in the mood!

WG, glad the party was a success.

Tammy, nothing better than fresh veggies! Love our farmers market! Yesterday I got cauliflower & broccoli. Froze it & will use for soup later.

Weezie, glad you slept so good! I slept great last night too! Must be something in the air!!!

Hello to everyone!

Good morning all,

Well I slept for an unheard of 8.5 hours last night and never took the cpap mask off. Normally, it seems, I'll wake and get it off after about 7 but I was tired last night so guess I needed it.

Started yesterday out well but didn't end so well. More carbs than hoped but will get there one day at a time. Today will be a better day. I've decided!!

Need to get around for church so will check back later.

Enjoy your day!

Good too-early-for-a-summer-morning, Seesters!

I get it about being closer to some groups of co-workers than others. I've been there.

I have begun trying some Dump Chicken crockpot recipes. Yesterday was a BBQ dish that was pronounced "very good" by both of us. I came upon a list of 10 such recipes and will try them out, just not day after day. LOL That would be a lot of chicken.

I considered that I got some good "streamlining" done yesterday and will work on it some more today. I'm sending some unused kitchen appliances to other homes. Today I will look at cookbooks. How many do I really need, especially with the internet?

Hi.

It's been a busy day. I'm glad I'm often the first up. If not, it would be a very long day playing catch up.

Got the doll clothes sewn but have a super hero cape cut out and will need to sew it. I need to change the thread on my serger and replace a needle. I had a bad day with it Wednesday. Jack and I still have some bonding to do.

The party was fun and Princess Sofia had a lot of fun. Her sisters enjoyed hosting the party so it was fun all around. And I got to hold both new grands together for a half hour or so. They were good the whole time, so I was doing it right at least. The girls then took them and went into the other room to breast feed. One produces more than the other so pretty soon, the second baby was nursing with the first daughter. It was strange but if they are fine with it, it's fine.

SS, glad you are babying your knee. Is it a compression brace? The small steps are good for you. I hope it works out. Hope you survive the keto flu. Love your hydrangeas. They are lovely.

SEK, that's such a lot of work to do. I hope you get paid well for your efforts. You never seem to stop moving.

Weezie1, there is always a lot to do. I hope you soon get the kitchen done and can move on to another project. That disorder in the house makes it hard to sew or do anything. It really is hard to get anything done. I'm sorry Ava didn't come but glad she is with her auntie. She needs that stability.

Tammy, glad your garden is producing. I love summer produce. It tastes so good. It's good that SD enjoyed her time with you. I know you enjoyed her as well. It's nice that she loves her former coworkers. It works better with some groups and if this one was small, it often makes them closer as they rely on each other for so much more. I was closer to some groups than the one I worked with when I left. It was too diverse and the closeness was not encouraged.

LG, I'm not working yet. Still holding out hope. This is something else. I'm glad you had a good day of rest. You always have so much going on. Take care of yourself tomorrow since you are working Monday Tuesday?

I've got to get something to eat for the next few days. Fruits and veggies. I miss them when I don't have them and don't eat as well. I also need to play phone tag again. Have a lovely day everyone.

Hello, ladies....

Well, it's been a very lazy day here! AND I LOVE IT!!! I went to the farmer's market, Wally-World, the grocery, the bank and then had lunch! Went outside and sat in the sun for about 20 minutes. Got too hot!!

We went to Mass and now I'm relaxing (yet again)!! I've been resting up for tomorrow when I'll do tons of laundry, clean the bathrooms and try to get into my sewing room.

Sharon, hope that the 10 min walks work along with the exercises. Your hydrangeas look beautiful and at least yours are blooming. Mine won't bloom. Sorry about your headache.

Tammy, glad that your SD is there and maybe her current co-workers don't know how she feels.

Weezie, you'll get there....one pound at a time. I've got to do it too. I want to drop 20 myself. I'm working on it, but this isn't easy.

Good Afternoon Seesters!
Spent time this morning making a healthy breakfast, going for three 10 min walks and doing all the challenge recording. I have decided instead of walking long walks perhaps if I break it down it won't be so hard on my leg. I am wearing my brace and that helps. I did google some exercises so I did them also this morning. I need to get into the habit of doing them morning and night. If my diet and exercise doesn't improve things, I will check in with my doctor.

Remember how I was complaining that my hydrangeas were so pink. Here's what they look like this year

Tammy - I am glad you SD is visiting with the two of you. Even if she had another reason, who cares - she is here to see you guys as well.

Weezie - it's strange how we want to eat before the challenge begins! Like that weight doesn't count. Silly us, it's just more to lose. So far I've only had 4 net carbs today after two meals. I am experiencing the headache (Keto Flu) for shocking my body. It takes a couple days before the surge of energy and good feeling moves in. I look forward to it!

Hi, Seesters!

I've picked green beans and a cucumber and am delighted with a tomato that is ripening.

I need to continue streamlining "stuff" in our kitchen to make sure we can move what we need to for the folks to lay the vinyl. That will be a good project today.

The youngest SD is here - the one who lived here for a year and then in town for two years before moving to St. Louis to be nearer kids/grandkids. She came to see her dad plus go to a "deployment party" for a former coworker on the heart surgery team that she liked working with so well. She makes no bones to anyone that if it weren't for grandkids that she would be here. [Wonder how that makes her present coworkers feel? LOL] Perhaps with time she will have the bonds with her present coworkers that she did while here.

Have a good day all...gotta get in gear.

Good morning all,

Just popping in before I get my butt in gear and get moving.

SEK, sounds like a big project. One I want to do here after we finish the others that are half done. Ugh. Have you seen the YouTube video of the guy putting the metal spatula on the end of a wet-dry vac to help with the mess? I hope to try this BEFORE we change the carpet. In the meantime we gotta finish the kitchen and still working on a paint color. I think we finally found it so gotta get a a bit more and get it slapped on the wall to be sure. What a chore. Anyway, congrats and love the photos of the landscaping and such. I actually pulled a few weeds last night and hope to return to it again today. Not a task I enjoy at all.

WG, you are a busy lady for sure and glad you got invited. Doll clothes sound fun and I keep telling myself I need to make more as well but haven't. I need to get back to my sewing room one of these days.

Pat, sounds like fun moving fabric at Sharynns. Did you find any more Xmas you couldn't live without? Did you get back to your sewing room? And, have you and Sharynn decided on the next embroidery project?

Tammy, sounds like you're keeping busy as well. Hope you and yours are doing well.

Sharon, I had to chuckle about the LAST Supper. I did the same thing yesterday. Kept telling myself, one more crappy day before I get serious. After seeing the scale this morning I was like get your head out of your rear Weez and focus. Now I want to lose 20 lbs. I will break it down in 5 lb increments so I'm not so overwhelmed and will ponder a 'reward' for myself once I get there. Decisions, decisions.

Okay, I'm off to get my day started. Slept in this morning. No grands this weekend. Thought we might have Ava but that seems to have changed. She's with her auntie and cousins. All good.

Enjoy your day ladies and I'll talk to you all again soon!

WG, are you working again? Glad that you got invited to this one!!

Sharon, take care of the leg. It's important. Did you look on line to see about exercises for it?

Tammy, I too hope you had a nice visit.

SEK, you work too hard!!!

I worked today and we weren't too busy so got lots of fabric moved and all the Christmas fabric is now out front where people can see it better. We have some very beautiful fabric. Now for the weekend. I have no plans and don't intend to have any!!

Hi Seesters. I thought I'd have Rose Red today but the doctor appointment for Snow White was changed and DD forgot to tell me. I had things I could have done, but oh, well.

So this morning after I get off, I'll be sewing. Princess Sofia turns 5 Monday. Her sisters are having a birthday party for her tomorrow and I'm invited to that one. I'll make some clothes for the 18 inch doll I got for her. Just a couple of skirts and shirts. I've got some shoes and accessories for her so she will have a nice supply to play with.

I've got to go to the next town to sign some papers today or tomorrow so I'll probably head out today. Things are moving forward.

I had to do a factory reset on my tablet. It had no memory and wouldn't run programs. It was very easy to reset it and it took a couple of hours to get all my apps back on. Games were reset to 0 but the other programs are as though I had never left.

SS, Glad you are feeling better and able to move your leg. It's so nice of you to do the competition. I'll post on that thread sometime today.

Tammy, hope you have a nice visit. It's important to rest while working. It makes it much less stressful. How is your DH's knee?

I "line dried" some clothes yesterday. After the sun had passed over, I put them out on the deck and chairs. They were dry within an hour. I'll do another load today. It is nice to save on utilities.

Have a great day. I'm off to get sewing.

Morning!
It's a beautiful summer day here, sunny and mid 70's. I haven't been walking much since we returned from Shipshewana and my leg is doing much better. I'm almost embarrassed to call the doctor but will keep my eye on it and if it flares again, I will call. I am also going to start my walking again tomorrow at the start of our new challenge.

Our friends are coming this evening to go to Pizza Ranch so that will be my last meal with carbs but it is almost like the LAST SUPPER!

SEK - removing the popcorn ceiling sounds like hard work to me. I get vertigo when I work over my head and that's why I don't paint! I'm sure I couldn't remove the popcorn ceiling. Thank God there are people like you that are willing to do those jobs. BTW, your boss sounds like a horrible person to work for.

Good morning, on our way to Wichita for Mike's finale eye exam after cataract surgery. He'll have the other one done in September.

The popcorn ceiling isn't the big sparkly kind like you are thinking of, this is the kind that you put joint compound in a gun and shoot it on. I mix vinegar water, spray, let sit for a bit, then use a big flat metal spatula type thing and scrape, easy but a mess.

Take care and have a great day.

Hi Seesters. It's another warm day. Fabio came this morning. He's playing with his cars so he is entertained. We'll have lunch in a few minutes then play some cards. He loves to play cards. I have a gear toy he might enjoy that we might put together as well.

I'm glad you all are home safely. It sounds like a fun visit. I'm glad you get to go. It's sad that the shops are closed but if the employees are getting better wages, it's a good thing.

Weezie1, hope the dentist goes well. I do hope your BIL makes it a bit longer. That sort of thing is always hard no matter which choice one makes. It has to be hard for your sister. It's even harder in some ways when it's done because the caregiver is at a loss of things to do and purpose.

PJ, sorry the carpet had problems. I hope they give you some sort of deal for the inconvenience. That wasn't your fault and it did put you out a lot.

SEK, how did you remove the popcorn ceiling? Many of them were made with asbestos and needed to be removed with special gear. I know my mom's ceiling was put in during the 70's and it was asbestos. I'd be tempted to walk out, but would have bit my tongue. That's pretty rude. If you are an employee and not an independent contractor, you can get her into trouble over the ceiling.

LG, enjoy work today. Glad you had fun.

SS. I'll catch your blog later. I'm glad you had safe travels.

This morning I thought maybe a bird had hit my living room window. No, it was a tennis ball. The kids were playing. I'm glad it didn't cause any damage. But the ball was there, so there would have been no question.

Gotta go and play with Fabio. I tried gathering something last night and Jack and I will have a visit today. My grands thought it funny that I called him Jack. One called him Rip, but I like Jack so much better.

Have a great day.
