Well the ceiling is as clean as I can get it. Never was able to match paint for touch but by the time I got done with the tweezers pulling off little pieces I donít think anyone will ever notice. Now I can move on to more organizing and sorting or maybe sewing on my placemats or a combination of whatever strikes my fancy. I have the 5K in the morning with my boys and I sure hope I have at least once picture to post of the three of us together.

WG I hope it wontí take long to sell your momís house and get that out of the way.

To all the rest have a nice evening.

Hi, Seesters!

That BLT talk yesterday FORCED me to fix them today emoticon and mine was so very good. It is quite pleasant here today and I have an hour of walking in and have also planted some seeds for the fall garden, and I think the garden planting is just about done unless I need to re-seed or if I decide to pull up some green beans that I am not pleased with and plant something else there.

To my quilting friends - have any of you used Georgia Bonesteel's quilt-as-you-go method for large projects? DH picked up one of her books at a yard sale yesterday - he is always on the hunt for them for me LOL - and it was pretty interesting. It seems it would be a manageable size project for cold winter evenings.

I tried a new recipe for a dinner salad, and I started a new small quilting project based on a MO Star Quilt Co utube video, and I like the present book that I am reading, so I guess I really shouldn't complain about anything on this Friday afternoon.

Have a good evening!

Hi all,

Well sounds like all are busy. SS, sorry you've been sick and I hope the bronchitis has subsided. I was home sick on Tuesday but feel oh so much better today. Co-worker got it and she was home yesterday so maybe had nothing to do with what I ate/drank the night before. I was fearful it was a bit of food poisoning.

No word on the job front. Had lunch with an ex co-worker who knows the gal whose leaving so she is going to inquire if they've started interviews. I won't be heart broken but would be nice having a 3 mile commute rather than a 22 mile. I'm thankful I have a job so either way it will be fine.

Pat, sounds like fun with Brooke today. Baking for some special occasion or just the kids to enjoy?

WG, sounds like you've been busy with little ones too. I will get Kason (15 months) tomorrow at noon for the night. We're gonna do more one-on-one as it is too hard to do multiples at this age. I'm not as young as I used to be afterall. LOL

PJ, Tammy, Judy, Jo, and anyone else I have forgotten as my brain isn't work right about now, Have a great evening. I need to scoot and get some dinner started. Lots to accomplish before the little guy tomorrow.

Have a great one ladies!

Well, I have the 3 grand kids. Carmen and Luke went with Thomas down to a nature preserve to hunt for who knows what!!! Brooke and I have been baking! We take them back to Jason about 4 p.m. as they have a social at school this evening.

Posting twice consecutively is really unheard of for me. Hope all of you are well.

Fabio is here. His mom is working with some "externs" which are accounting students doing some training with her company. She loves teaching and working with students so she is happy to do it. Fabio wasn't as happy as he usually sleeps an hour later in the morning. He was fussy and beside himself so we had a cuddle until he went to sleep. He is now very asleep for a few minutes.

PJ, have you thought of doing the recipe as a freezer meal? It might make a good gift even then. I like the soups in a jar with the spices and other things all together and all you do is cook the stuff and add some meat or something to make it work. I even have some freeze dried veggies to add (lots of food storage places around here) so it really does taste pretty good.

SS, glad you are treating your bronchitis. Hopefully the inhaler will help. Did you get a spacer with the inhaler? It really helps the thing work better. I'm in favor of a steroid to reduce the swelling but it doesn't always work out that way. If you don't have a fever, you don't usually have to take antibiotics but that is sometimes not true. If you don't feel better by Monday, give the doc another call. You should be much better by then.

Tammy, hope you are still finding ways to have fun. I enjoy your sense of humor especially when you are looking for it.

LG, I'm glad you love your new floor. It is fun to have the nice smooth floor to work with.

Weezie, hope you are feeling good now that the weekend is here. Any word on the job hunt?

I'm off to be busy. Got plenty to do today. We got back the appraisal on Mom's house. It is valued about where I thought it would be so it should sell without a problem. I think we are going to put a sign on the lawn and see what happens.

Good evening. Love that everyone is busy.

I'm going to bed. I'll try to post in the morning when Fabio goes down for his nap. He is coming early so he will be tired and want to sleep earlier (hopefully.)

As many of you know, I finally went to the doctor about my cough and fatigue. He diagnosed me with Bronchitis and prescribed an inhaler for me. He said I should be feeling better within a week. I am hoping he's right!

PJ - I'm glad you got to taste the soup before you gave it as gifts. I, myself, don't care for mushy veggies in soup although some people prefer that.

Not much going on with me. We did taste the soup that didnít seal. And I must say it was just ok but some of the veggies were mushy and others were cooked just right. So it is isnít something I would want to give as presents anyway.

Tomorrow I will be back to picking tomatoes and green beans but no canning in the picture. DH and/or I will can tomatoes after his roof project is complete.

I have a couple of things on ebay that are selling and end Saturday. One has bids the other one doesnít yet so they will be shipped next week or at least one of them will. Then I will look into listing some other things that I want to get rid of. I only do a couple of things at a time it is too overwhelming for me to do anymore. And I need to investigate before listing to check on prices and if anything like them has sold before on ebay. Etc

Still donít have the ceiling done in the kitchen will mix up some touch paint and dry to cover up spots if I can get the right white mixed up so it wonít show. Will probably work on that after the 5K on Saturday or Sunday.

Judy I wondered if Mike had retired. Seems as though you are happier now even with Mike home. Iím glad. Seems we donít have time to work especially with going south in the winter. I realized the other day that this is the first summer I have had since retiring. Kinda nice but we sure have been busy.

Tammy I went to the store today and wondered what we could have for supper as Frank is so hot and tired after working on the roof. I decided on BLTs also. Good bargain on that electric skillet. When we are in Texas I try and use electric as much as possible since it comes with the campsites and save on the propane.

Hi, Seesters!

I see some BLTs in my near future as well. emoticon I still have several fresh tomatoes that my SIL and BIL brought last week, so I think DH and I will have a BLT for lunch tomorrow, as we have already had lunch today and I have fixed softer foods in the evening when I know SD will be eating with us.

DH brought me some patchwork quilting books this morning after stopping by a yard sale. He explained it was an older couple who had married after both being widowed, and they were merging two households. I asked if he saw any electric skillets, as I haven't had one for some years and just decided that I wanted one again. He told me that the lady had some kitchen items, and even tried to explain to him what one of them was but that he didn't understand it, likely because he didn't hear half of it, but that's another story. ANYWAY, we went on some errands anyway and stopped by and she had a brand new Black and Decker electric skillet for sale for $10, which I snapped up immediately. emoticon

I walked earlier and may go out again for a bit more here in a minute. I think the cross country team has begun practice because there are teenagers at the track next to my house for most of the morning now. The track surface seems to be easier on my feet. Then I think some sewing time will be in order.

Have a good day!

LG glad your floor is just about done.

Weez sorry you've been ill.

Glad baby is home and dad got more paid leave.

School starts the 18th for Indy and the 27th officially for Joshua 'cause he's in a different school district. He will start before then because I asked them to open his classes so we could do the required 6 hour day before I go back to work. With the virtual school the state requires 2 days that you are logged into school for 6 hours which is crazy because it doesn't take that long to do a lesson but if you are not you get expelled and have to pay $225, so it is something we do as soon as possible. The biggest problem is if you don't keep the page moving the system kicks you out after 5 mins., so you can't log in, go to a class, and just "sit" there for the time

Yes, Mike retired and it's going fine, he is ready to find a part time job. He's been talking to friends and they have all said when ever you are ready we have things you can do. He said he would be more serious about it in a month or so, he had a couple more things he wanted finished here before he took a job.

Yesterday we were in Joplin getting him new teeth. He's had uppers forever and I finally got him to have his last two bottom teeth out and get a full set. They did a real good job you can't tell his tops ones are new. So many places want to change them, but this place wants you to look the same when you leave as when you came in, well your teeth anyway. This is the same place Matt went.

Today I'm going to try and get the downstairs cleaned before I have to go to work. The dusty work is done again and for good so I shouldn't have to deep clean for awhile, thank you God. I have to work today 12-7 and then tomorrow 9-6 I think.

I better get to it, y'all have a terrific Thursday!

Hello, ladies.....

Got lots to do today. Have a hair cut at 9 a.m. and need to get all the church laundry ironed and back over there. There is one place that the guy who laid the flooring didn't finish so another guy is coming today to do that. He'll be here at 11 at least that is what he told Thomas!! We'll see.

We went to Carmen's last softball game last night. She was a bit sad but her coach said that she was a very good little player! Now she and Brooke start volleyball. Luke starts soccer. We'll be running all the time. We are getting the kids tomorrow for the day. I told Luke that we were going to "steal" them from their parents!! Just hope that he doesn't tell that at daycare I could get arrested!!! We are picking them up early and will take them out to breakfast.

Tammy, good to hear that baby Garrett is doing well and daddy gets to stay home for a while. Good to hear that you are "feeling" better.

WG, I hear ya' about the BLTs!! Now I want some!! YIKES!!

Weezie, glad that you are feeling some better too. Don't fall asleep at your computer today!!

Judy, when does school start there? Our grands go back Monday.

SS, loved the pics on FB of Norm's carvings!!

Now need to scoot!!

Hi Seesters. Had expected a quiet morning and an errand run. The Jedi had cub scouts two doors away from my house so he came here instead of walking the 1 1/2 blocks home. His mother came and got him.

We had a good visit while waiting and DS#1 came to program the new thermostat. It is wifi enabled so I can tell it to turn on or off from anywhere my phone takes me. I can also check the inside temperature and adjust it as needed. I'm sort of excited. I looked into the Nest but this one came with the new furnace so it is fine.

Tammy, glad you are in a better place today. I'm glad you get satisfaction from creating things.

SS, I do watch Fabio once a week on Tuesdays (most weeks) and have Snow White when things don't work out with her mom. I'm happy to do it. That DD was prickly for a while and angry for a number of reasons at some things I did or didn't do. (Like not pay for her education or give enough support when she didn't ask. She also has some "mom doesn't love me enough" issues.) I'm glad that we are getting along a lot better although I need to finish the baby blanket for Fabio before his first birthday. I started it last year when Mom was staying with me but haven't had time to complete it. I did get one blanket done this year but the remodel has killed my ability to get sewing done.

LG, glad floor is done. It is a good time to make things like new. Glad you got the cleaning done.

I'm going to take a break and get some bread. Craving BLTs and maybe some corn. And dog food, of course. It is fun and I need an outing.

Last night went to DILs parents home for dinner. DS#1 and his FIL share a birthday. They try to celebrate together so no one feels hurt. They were kind enough to invite me. It was a fun evening. They are always gracious and fun and there is usually someone not family at their gatherings.

Off to be busy. Will talk later.

Hi, Seesters! I can allow myself to talk a bit more today, so I am making progress. LOL I took my BP this morning as I woke up and it was better. I have walked and I have sewed, which is always a good thing for me emotionally.

Weezie, hope you are feeling better.

LG, I will need to remember to check your photos. I know I enjoyed SEK's pictures.

WG, we have your drizzly weather this afternoon, and I am very thankful for it. I will perhaps not need to water my potted plants/garden for a couple of days now.

PJ, your 5K is getting very close now! Woohoo!

Morning Seesters!

LG - Yeah! So glad the floor is done and you are happy with it! Looking forward to seeing the pics. Our summer has been crappy, weather wise but we are going camping next week so I checked the ten day forecast and it is looking good unless it changes which is possible!

WG - it seems you take care of Fabio quite a bit. Did I miss something? Do you have him on the days you don't work? Once they get mobil, there's no stopping them. They become much harder to take care of. Better you than me. I can barely keep up with my 5 yr old GS.

Weezie - sorry to hear you had a sick day! I hope you were feeling better for an evening with Ava.

SEK - you had a major kitchen overhaul! Looking forward to seeing after pics!

PJ - at least you have the jar that didn't seal to taste and decide if it's good enough to try another batch. I would probably have fear of doing another batch but then I'm so scared of opening the Pillsbury dough containers that I avoid buying them!

Tammy - I hope you're feeling better today. It is so easy to fall back in to our old habits that got us in poor shape both physically and mentally. High BP is nothing to mess with so if you're uncomfortable about it, by all means check with your doctor. You mentioned your BFF is thinking about Casita trailer for camping. I'll have to check what that is. I always thought a casita was a small permanent dwelling. That's how much I know, lol.

Morning, ladies!!

emoticon this is me! Floor is done! I'll post a pic on my page later. I got all the cabinets cleaned out and it really looks nice. Now to get the table and chairs back in there.

WG, once those little one begin to move....all is lost!!! Good luck!

PJ, that is the exact reason I don't can. Mom had a jar blow up on her and she got burned. Could have been much worse but she moved just as it got her and only got on her arm. I'm just not that brave. Good luck with the next batch and the ceiling.

Tammy, hope that you are able to "talk" today!!

Weezie, I know you went to work but try to make it a short day. You need a bit of recoop time!

SS, I'm with you about the weather. Our weatherman said this morning that July has been the coldest July on record and last summer July was the hottest on record!! We can't seem to find a happy medium.

Want to wish Weezie2 a very emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Enjoy your day!!!

Now need to scoot.....

Good afternoon. It is a rainy day but I really need rain on my lawn. Sprinklers still aren't fixed and I've got some very brown spots. Fabio is sleeping. Boy that child is moving around. He has made the rounds through the house and the dog keeps moving to another place while she is being chased through the house.

PJ, I'm so sorry that you had a jar explode. It is hard when you are canning for gifts and now have a big mess. I hope you get it cleaned up without a problem. Mom has the "popcorn" stuff on her ceiling with the sparkles. Apparently the stuff has asbestos in it. Be careful about working with it. The appraiser said to wet it down if we want to take it off. Then we can scrape it off and not worry. It only makes dust when it is wet.

LG, hope the floor is finished by now. I know you will love it.

Weezie, glad you feel better. I'm sure Ava will appreciate your energy that you have now had time to rest.

Tammy, sorry the sleep didn't fix the feelings. I hope it is just a funk. I like a really light book or romantic comedy. I have a bunch of them for just that moment. The old Katherine Hepburn movies, or Cary Grant comedies are my favorites for such moods. Very clean and funny and full of madcap fast dialogue.

SS, I hope you get some summer this year after all the wet season. It has been quite a cold summer as well as a cold winter.

I've got to get the tribbles vacuumed up and take care of a few things. Have a great day all.

Afternoon seesters.

Well I've been home ill today. Not sure what hit but it wasn't pretty. I'm feeling better this p.m. but I've slept the majority of the day it seems. My system is all messed up!

PJ, I think I know what the rali-fence pattern is and I think it would be easy. There are many out there. Look forward to seeing the 'finished' project.

LG, sorry about the floor job not going as planned but happy you got some projects done.

Judy, I'm excited to see photos of the 'finished' kitchen. Mike is retired now - right? How is that going?

DH is here with Ava so I need to scoot. She is here for the evening while mama works. Glad I got a nap today.

Talk to you all later.

Exploding jars would be one reason I don't can, that and I don't like all the work involved. Call me lazy!

LG I would still be so mad and I did see a bit of smoke coming from your direction!

Bomb scare!? I won't write what I'm thinking, it's not very nice.

Just wanted to see what was going on, I have to get to work here in a few minutes. Enrollment starts today and since I'm sort of? in management I get to work it this year.

I do have some news on the kitchen. Since we took Saturday off it's not quite finished but it won't take long, maybe a good day. Hubby is putting up trim, doors are ready to hang, and the curtains just came. They will go up later. Now I really got to get.

So I ended up having a not very pleasant experience yesterday. When my soup was done I was taking them from the canner and putting them on my cooling rack on the countertop when one exploded. Luckily I was on the other side of the kitchen getting another jar so was not hurt or burned just scared the tar out of me and oh what a mess there was stuff on cabinets, floor, countertops, doors and ceilings. I wanted to cry both from the mess and the scare, but pulled up my boot straps and started cleaning. It is all cleaned up except the ceiling I will tackle that either this afternoon or tomorrow. Iím not sure what we can do with it since it is a popcorn textured ceiling. I will attempt with tweezers (in necessary) to pull the chunks off. And then go from there. We were going to be doing some ceiling repairs and painting anyway from previous water leaks so it may just wait until we do that.

I went to Zumba this morning skipped yoga and went and got a new guage for the canner. However I strongly feel it was just a bad jar. That being said I am going to be a little gun shy when I do the next batch of any kind of canning. Tonight I have a hospice quarterly meeting to attend.

To my quilter seesters. I think for my placemats Iím going to do a railfence pattern. It looks easy and I found a couple of instruction pages and video on line. What do you think? Easy for a beginner?

LG sounds like you are having a bad time getting that flooring done. That is so frustrating and it doesnít help that these companies canít even give you a courtesy call letting you know they are going to be late. GRRRR

Tammy hoping you donít have to be quiet today meaning you arenít cranky.

Sharon one of the unbroken jars didnít seal and is in the refrigerator but we havenít tasted it yet. So frustrating as I was wanting to give the soup away as Christmas gifts. Now not sure if I want to attempt another batch.

LG, emoticon back at you! emoticon

LG, I do hope the floor gets done in better time now. I hate things like that.

SS, I am hoping that lunch with my BF here in a bit will help my mood, but I also think I have narrowed down the root cause, or at least close to it. I happened to check my blood pressure a bit ago, and even after my meds this morning, it is moderately high, and since I have been in this "better keep my mouth shut or I am going to take someone's head off" for a few days, I am betting that that is what my issue is. I will continue to take it daily and maybe more than once a day for a few days and then call my doctor if I need to. Some of my choices haven't been the healthiest lately, and I need to get back to that. In fact, when I get off here, I am going to go do that yoga even before I go meet my BF.

I did get to the sewing room for ten minutes a bit ago - some is better than nothing...

Good Morning!

LG - I'm sorry about your floor. I think we've all experienced something close. I remember when we sat here waiting for the guy to come to start the concrete for our garage. NO SHOW and we paid him 1/2 down. Scary times! He eventually came and did a wonderful job. Hopefully, they will show up and finish the work today so you can get on with other things! Summer = construction! I hope they quickly get the work done so your street is open again! What a pain.

WG - I am also glad the bomb threat was just a threat! A little inconvenient but much better than an explosion!

Tammy - I laughed right out loud to think of you being quiet because of your cranky mood! I'm going to file that away for future use. I hope today has you feeling better.

PJ - are you still cleaning up your mess from your explosion? I hope after the clean up, you are happy with the soup you canned.

Nothing on the agenda for today. We are looking forward to going camping with some friends next week. Norm called to check on our MH and they tell us the window has arrived and they are working on it this week. We need to pick the MH up on Saturday so hopefully it will be ready by then!

Hello, gals.....

Well, old LG isn't too happy this morning.....the place that we bought the flooring from told us that the guy who would install (their guy) would be here yesterday about 9 a.m. At 11:30, he still wasn't here so Thomas called. They told him that he had a "small" job to finish and would be here about noon. It was 1:30 when he showed up. I was not happy and they only stayed until 5 p.m. Now it is almost 9 a.m. and they still are not here!!! I'm very frustrated. Now I realize that it is not a huge job. I don't know how you gals who have had your whole house torn up do it. I know that we lived in this house when we were remodeling it after we first bought it and it was a god-awful mess. But I worked and was gone all day!! Didn't have to look at it!

On top of all of this mess, our street is closed in front of our house. The highway at the end of our street is being widened and so the entrance to our street is closed. Rachel works for the company who is doing the work and I've bitched to her about it but she just ignores me!!!

Enough, bitching!!

WG, glad that the bomb threat was just that. Why do people do that??

Tammy, hope that you have a smile on your face this morning!! If not how about this one... emoticon Maybe we could both use one!!

Need to scoot....

Good evening. Busy day at work. Looked to be OK but went downhill about 2 in the afternoon when the help left. I had a total turnover of patients which meant that I had a lot of assessing and taking care of to do. I didn't get everything done, but hopefully someone else will do it.

It was fun having the grands together. The girls and the younger boys had a great time playing. Not much listening but it was fun for the children.

I've got to head to bed. Got diverted on the way home due to a bomb threat at a local "Quickie Mart." The roads are still closed but it turned out to be a threat only.

LG, looking forward to seeing the new floor. I'm glad it won't take as long as mine did to get done.

Tammy, hope you rest well and are happier tomorrow.

Hi, friends! Yard work, laundry, workshop at the college, and I am tired and cranky! The temps are much more moderate, though.

Tired I can take care of, hopefully by sleeping tonight, and cranky - well, we shall see! LOL! I am just trying not to talk too much and that should take care of it until the sleeping takes over.

Have a good evening...

Frank is up on our roof tearing off siding fixing our last roof dormer looking for where our celing has leaked in the past. I am in the kitchen canning the vegetable soup Hoping this recipe comes out good as I am going to use it as Christmas gifts for the family. Also going to make the Green Bean soup for us to have tonight.

Our temps are in the 80s so pleasant, I did get out for a walk early this morning and have been tracking my water and food today. Planning to get back into tracking in order to start losing this weight again. Also going to get my habit back of STs 3 times a week at home. I have been so lax this summer and scales are starting to show it. Changing things before it gets TOO out of hand.

Weezie glad you didnít lose power. That generator canít be installed soon enough. Sounds like a fun time with Ava. Youngest DS wants to take the fiancť kids to the Legoland that is here in KC I wonder if I can tag along on some of this fun stuff.

LG I hope by now your rain has settled and the yard isnít puddles anymore. The corn we bought yesterday wasnít the best I have ever had but it is still so much better then frozen from the store. Be sure and let us see a picture of the new floor. Iím going to give my a good scrubbing when Iím done today. I canít do corn without getting kernels on the floor.

Judy did Matt pay for dinner since he won?

WG I wouldnít know how to handle 6 kids at one time. Glad you have had the experience and could handle it. That has to be an unusual marriage for you brother and SIL with that much age difference. My brother married a lady that was about 25 years older than he was. Strange for sure. Do the best you can about staying in contact and hopefully money wonít cause too big of a problem

Good Morning!
We survived the storms that moved through yesterday without any problems but the eastern side of the state got hit much worse with 65 mph gusts of wind and lots of hail. AND, lots of damage.

Today it is overcast with chance of T-storms again. The next couple of days will be much cooler, only in the low 70's before it warms back up to the 80's.

LG - floor day! I can only imagine how excited you are. It would be wonderful if they can do it all in one day. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

WG - I hope your family survives intact. I have mentioned before that our family went through some issues when my aunt passed away. We survived on the surface but our relationship with our brother will never be the same.

Morning....ladies!!

Well, it is a great day here....the floor goes down pretty soon. They should have it finished by tonight! I'm so glad!

WG, hope that you don't lose the connection with your brother over money but I do know that can happen. I am so glad that my mom had no money left! But I don't think it would have been a problem. Six kids in church!!! Been a long time for me...back when I was a kid at home! In those days, parents didn't go to Mass together as the kids didn't go until they began 1st grade. I'm glad that parents go together and kids learn to behave!

Judy, Thomas is like that....can play 25 cent slots and win like crazy! He put in one quarter one time and won over $400!! And I hate when you go to a restaurant and the food/service is awful.

Our grand kids start school again on August 4th! They have only 8 weeks summer vacation. emoticon They are on a "balanced" school calendar. They will have 2 weeks off for fall break and Christmas break and 2 weeks for Spring break unless they have a lot of snow days. A lot of that time is spent with us!

Well, I need to get moving and get a few things done before they get here.

WG glad the chicken turned out. I was going to smoke one yesterday but that didn't happen because of the rain. That's OK we needed some but not like in years past when everything is usually burnt up by the end of July.

I don't mind kids in church as long as they aren't allowed to run all over, we have some at ours that do. I remember when "church" was an adult thing and kids went to Sunday School and then home. Times they do change.

Got to get Joshua up and ready. Y'all have a magnificent Monday!

Hi Sessters. Kiddos left and I'm beat. I'm heading off to bed in a minute.

I was getting ready for church when DIL came by and dropped off her 3 kids. They had somewhere to do and it wasn't a big deal. A bit of a surprise, but fine. So I took those three and usually sit with DS#3 and his family so when I sat with them there were 7 children and 2 adults. DIL #3 took her baby out to feed her and I was left with the 6 kids. It has been a long time since I've had 6 kids alone in church. It wasn't a lot different but these were a lot younger than mine were.

The chicken turned out good. I had some leftover and it was sent home (most of it) with the kids. It is nice not to have food at the end.

I'm glad that you all got to visit with family. PJ, that is a good idea to visit with your cousins later. It is something that isn't going to be easier and it is fun to bond.

My brother really came to see my son. My sister was invited over but I was not so I stayed home. My sister in law is really quite easy going but my brother is not. He has been quite angry and abusive lately and she needed a break. There are a lot of years between them and when he was in his 50's it wasn't a big deal but now he is in his late 60's and although he is quite fit, he is getting old and she is still 34 years younger than he is.

I'm still hopeful that when the estate is settled that we can do friendly and happy. I don't want to lose that contact over something as petty and fleeting as money but it looks like they want to.

I've got to go to work tomorrow. Time to go to bed.

Judy, I always look on things like that as an "entertainment expense." I'm glad you had a good time there. It is so hard to believe that school is starting up already. I'm always ready by August to have the kids get back into a routine, but it is hard to give up that laid back time.

Have a wonderful day all.

LG your meal sounds great!

Well, all of us but Matt were contributors yesterday. That brat put $10 in a machine and cashed out $150. It was still a good day, we came home got Joshua and went out for dinner. That was not good and we won't go back, it's a place in town none of us had been too and we wished it had stayed that way. Oh well.

PJ glad things went well.

We just had some rain here and I think maybe some more is supposed to come in later. Mike and I had just finished the yard when the clouds and thunder came to town. Glad we decided to do it today.

I'm taking Joshua to do his finals in the morning for the summer school classes he took. I wish they would let us do them at home. School starts here the 18th but where his on line school is doesn't start till the 27th I think or maybe the 28th.

I better get just wanted to check in.

Well, it is way past morning.....I got no sleep last night and just couldn't seem to get moving this morning. Storms came thru and we got over 3" of rain and our yard is sitting in water! I had to make a grocery store run this morning between showers. I did get a nap this afternoon so that helped. I really wanted to get to my sewing room but just didn't have the energy. I did get 2 dozen ears of corn blanched and frozen. I have lots of corn in the freezer for this winter. The corn that I got at the farmer's market was so sweet!

Weezie, glad that you had a good time with Ava at the museum. We will have the grand kids later this week. They start school on the 4th of August!!

Judy, some times you just need some adult time!!!

SS, glad that you got to spend some time with your DD. Rachel was here all day yesterday and we had a good time and I cherish that!

PJ, glad that you made the trip and it was a safe one. I'm sure that your dad was glad to be back. And glad that you are making the trip to spend time with your girl cousins.

WG, hope that you got to spend some time with your brother and glad that he came to visit.

Now I need to get supper on the table. We are having baked chicken (in the crock pot) along with new potatoes and fresh green beans. There will be enough left that we'll have this tomorrow. They will be here to start the new floor. emoticon

Hello all!

Well it seems lots of folks having things happening with loads of emotion. My heart goes out to you all and I agree that it is sad we tend to see relatives mostly at times of death rather than any other. Definitely need to work on that here as well.

Just had a doozy of a storm go through with hail and all. I just kept praying the power didn't go as the install isn't till the 22nd of August. IT did flicker but that was it. Whew!!!

Had Ava Friday night and yesterday. We took her to the museum in Grand Rapids and she had lots of things to play with and also had a Lego exhibit. She could of cared less about the 9 feet tall structures but we thought they were cool. Our favorite had to be Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water home with the most legos of over 20k. Plus we've been there so it was pretty neat. Of course we were beat by the time we got back so late p.m. naps for sure.

Today has been a catch up day of sorts to prepare for the upcoming week. Laundry, food, etc. Hard to believe July is nearly over.

Judy, hope the casino ended up being fun and you actually won rather than just show to make your donation. That's how it normally goes for me.

SS, sounds like a good time indeed. I love shows with bright colored costumes and find myself in awe over those that make those things. Amazing!!!

WG, glad your brother came to visit and enjoys your son. Indeed all need to have a relationship like that where acceptance is what it is.

PJ, glad your time away went well and dad survived. Enjoy your weather. Our high tomorrow is only 72. I'll take it!!! LOL

Just wanted to pop in and will try to do better to visit more often. I have been bad sisters and I do hope you'll forgive me. Have a great Monday!

We are home from the quick funeral trip. Dad did as good as expected. We all came home tired from a stressful trip and of course none of us slept very good last night in the motel. We got him home in time to have lunch at his place so that will occupy him first thing getting home.

We found a produce stand on the way home and bought 2 dozen ears of corn. Now I have all the ingredients to make the canned vegetable soup recipe that I got from my cousin.

The weather is to be pleasant all week in the 80s so want to get out and enjoy that by starting to ride and walk more.

LG we saw lots of relatives at our funeral too. It is a shame we canít and donít spend more time together in pleasant circumstances. But I am going back by myself for 2 days in August to hang out with some of my girl cousins.

LG - sorry for your families loss. I agree on taking more time for our loved ones. I got a phone call from a dear childhood friend yesterday to let me know about the death of one of her exes (my favorite ex). He died unexpectedly at 57! I know we agreed we need to keep closer in touch than once a year at our age!

WG - I am also glad your brother and DS have formed a good relationship. It never hurts to have that male bonding! His wife sounds a little young and prickly but oh well, I don't have to live with her. I love grape salad and wish I could eat at your place today!

SEK - I'm all for grown up days! I'm pretty sure Joshua enjoys his alone time. After all, he's a teenager. I hope someone in your group walked away winners!

I went with my DD to a musical play (Hot Mikato) last night. It was something her and I share a love of. The play did not disappoint. Beautiful costumes and lots of singing and tap dancing.

THis is just a quickie....very tired after a very long, emotional day. My cousin's son was buried today and it was very hard to think of a 42 year old "boy" dying. His mom, brother, wife and sister-in-law were here of course and lots of Indiana relatives too. We all went to eat after the service and then this evening they all came here for a couple of hours. I really wish we could all take more time to be with relatives and friends while they are living instead of only getting together after they die. MaryAnn (his mom) has lost a "ton" of weight and she didn't have any to lose. She is skin and bones. I'm hoping that soon Thomas and I can fly out to California to see her. Her other son lives in Las Vegas.

Now I'm off to bed. I'll be back in the morning.

Quick drop by. Lawn mowed, shopping done and it took only trips to 4 different stores to get everything I needed. I did get fresh corn today, though and will enjoy that tomorrow. Also got some other fresh foods.

Brother is in town. I was surprised he came without his wife but she is in Mexico. She usually goes on business so I don't know what is going on this time. Last time she came, her dog died while on a hike. She doesn't deal well with death and it is hard for her. She tends to be very emotional. My siblings and I aren't demonstrative that way and he didn't handle it well. It created a rift they aren't able to fix yet. I am hopeful but there is a 34 year age difference and he just turned 67.

My oldest son is the son he never had and has spent some of the weekend with my brother. I don't mind their having a relationship. I'm glad my brother has a friend who will accept him and all his quirks.

I'm off to make grape salad. Hope it works out well. And some hawaiian chicken grill recipe that my DIL likes. I hope dinner works well for all.

Looks like everyone has been busy, busy. That's the way to stay young?!

Today is going to be grown up day. The two oldest kids, Mike and I are going gambling. Wish us luck. I expect it to be fun and not very rewarding money wise. Joshua is going to hang out here, he can't even get into the restaurant part without being 18. He's not too upset, he says a day without us is like a day in heaven. I wonder what he means by that? I'm a cheap one and can't ever turn loose of much.

Y'all have a great Saturday! I'll let you know how we did.

Good Evening!

I spent a day running errands and finishing my book. It has been overcast all day but the rain hasn't started yet. It is supposed to move in shortly.

Bailey got a bath this afternoon. She is so good during the bathing but she hates it so much! It must be humid as she still hasn't completely dried.

PJ - Tony is doing so well. I hope this new prosthetic foot works well for him. We'll miss your posts while you're gone for the funeral but you will be in our thoughts.

LG - I'm glad you had such a successful shopping trip! And if you need to buy an XL, what are people my size supposed to do? Must be made in China. Who cares what size it is, it was a deal you couldn't refuse!

WG - say what you want about your life but it is not boring! I am amazed how often you get to see your kids and grandkids. Makes me feel envious as mine are mostly grown and gone on to other interests. Enjoy them babies while you can!

LG Frank is going with dad and I to the funeral this weekend. As for the 5K next weekend it isn't very far away and I will be going alone and meeting both my sons there. Sure hope to get a picture of the 3 of us together as this may be the one and only 5K we all do together.

You did find some bargains. Lucky lady. Don't we just love our bargains. emoticon

PJ, saw the picture on FB and it does look interesting! I'm sure that he'll (and you) will do just fine next weekend. Is Frank going along with you? Hope so. Glad that your painting is done!

WG, glad that you are enjoying the "holiday". They are always fun! Yes, DIL should have the BP looked at. I resisted just to the very end but realized it wasn't anything I could control on my own. For me, I felt that my body had "betrayed" me!! I know crazy! Ask Weezie she'll tell you I'm nuts!! LOL!!

Weezie2, those bitty bags should be a very good seller. They are perfect size for almost anything!! I probably won't be doing the row-by-row either.....too many other projects to finish.

Well, I didn't find a dress but did find something that I like. I have a navy skirt and shoes that I really like. So I looked for a top to go with that. I found a green sleeveless "sweater" type of top and another that has sleeves and it is white. I think that I'll wear one of them to the burial tomorrow. Also, got some other things....everything I got was on sale. That green top was only $7.00!! Had been $49. Got the white top for $19. I also got a short leather jacket that had been $150 for $50. It is awesome. I think that the reason it was on sale was it is very small "fitting". I had to buy an XL. I NEVER wear an XL in anything! The salesgirl told me that she felt that was the reason. I really don't care....it is cute and I liked it and bought it! We went to Brooke's game last night. They lost both of them. But Brooke had 2 good hits and was walked 2x. On Tuesday night when Carmen played we burned up. Last night we had light blankets wrapped around us!! What's up with that???!!!

Now need to scoot.

Oldest son got his new prosthetic foot today. It is strange looking but it is supposed to be much better then his old one. This one will allow more of a natural movement than the old one. I will see it when we do the 5K next weekend.

I finished putting things on the wall this morning and cleaned up the house after getting out and buying a few groceries. We will pick up dad my 7 in the morning and be on our way. I donít plan to do any posting until we get back home on Sunday or Monday. I have been putting together the few things we need for an overnight trip and will call dad later to remind him how early he needs to be ready in the morning. It will be interesting to see if he remembers what clothes we picked out for him to wear.

I am loving my new haircut shorter and layered so much easier to take care of as in I donít have to do anything but wash comb and go. I will try and get a picture while we are gone to post.

I have everything I need to make the Green Bean Soup recipe next week. I posted it on fb and got it from another spark team. Anxious to give that one a try since we have fresh tomatoes and green beans from our own garden.

Howdy Seesters. It is a pseudo holiday here for me.. It is the anniversary of the date the pioneers entered the area but not a federal holiday and not one for me. It wasn't busy busy so it was a good one.

Love all the fun things you all are doing. Small bags for a hospice event, bigger bags, coffee with new neighbors and even painting. Makes me feel like a slacker for sure.

DIL stopped by with 5 of the kids (her 4 and Snow White) for a blood pressure check. It is very high and hasn't improved since she quit taking some of her meds. She will need to get it treated. I'm sad about that. She is so careful about nutrition but she has that genetic blessing.

I'm off to bed soon and need to feed the dog then head off to bed. Boring life I lead some days.

I'm thinking about doing Weezie's grape salad for Sunday dinner.

Have a great day all.

PJ- I don't have any experience with a copper bracelet but I'm still liking my magnetic one. Yesterday, I woke up all achy and thought to myself, oh no here I go again. Then when I walked in to the bathroom, I saw my bracelet laying where I took it off when I took my bath the night before. I had forgotten to put it back on. I put it on and by afternoon all my pain was gone again! Try it - what have you got to lose?

I now have all the painting done for this project in the house. Tomorrow I will put everything back in its place and do some housecleaning. I also got 14 more pints of green beans canned today. That is all the green beans I will be canning this year so the rest will be eaten fresh or given away. Tomatoes will be next however DH usually does the canning of those. I just have to stay out of his way while he is in the kitchen working. When we take dad back for the funeral Saturday my cousin is going to give me a recipe for canning vegetable soup. She gave it as Christmas gifts to her kids last year so I think I may do that this year myself.

Has anyone ever worn a copper bracelet for joint pain? My DH has been wearing one and says it helps with his wrist and shoulder pain. I orderd myself one to see if it will help with my hand/thumb/wrist pain. Iíll let you know if it helps.

Kami canít be 4 already. Where did those years go?

WG so glad you were able to enjoy a ďgirls night outĒ you need that. You have been working so hard both at work and at home.

Tammy so glad to hear Garrett got to go home. Everywhere you turn there are new babies.

Weez I need to cut back on my carbs especially by bread. Where in the world did Ava come up with that. LOL Who knows!!!!!

Lily yes I did go to knitting yesterday however I left early to go give dad the news and eat dinner with him. What wedding do you have in August? I will add your church group to my prayers. That part of the world is pretty scary right now.

Sharon hope the Mucinex continues to help.

I believe my next sewing project is going to be figuring out my quilted placemats. Just need to decide on a pattern. Have several I like saved on pinterest. It will be something simple.

Have a nice afternoon and lets all find some deliberate happiness.

Row-by-row is where different quilt stores offer a different row that they have designed, I think. I'm not doing it , but I am considering a local Shop Hop on August 1&2.

My msn email is not updating for some reason on my iPhone, but I think I have discovered a way around it until we return home on Sunday.

Have a good day!

Good morning,

I've been busy sewing itty bitty bags for the craft fair this Sunday at our local hospice. I hope Weezie's right and they sell emoticon

I'm just finishing up Kami's train quilt from the panel I picked up at Lolli"s. I'd like to take her picture when she opens it. She is such a train lover. She's happy just seeing them on the tracks not moving. We've told her they're sleeping because they have to work later.

What's this row by row you're talking about? It's not like I need any more projects....lol

Have a Great Thursday!

Good Morning!

Not much happening around me today. We are going to the Community Coffee this morning to see what's new in the park. We have new neighbors that moved in across the street so we invited them and will sit with them so they know someone. It won't take long and they will know lots of friendly people.

LG - good luck on your quest to find a suitable dress to wear to the rehearsal dinner. I will keep the travelers in my prayers. What an awesome opportunity they have.

Weezie - it's so hard to completely change your diet but if it makes you feel better, it will be worth it. Do you think it's helping or is it too soon to know?

Tammy - I hope you are enjoying another day of "deliberate happiness". I think we found a new phrase thanks to WG. Yes, our Branson trip is quickly approaching. I am looking forward to meeting you face to face as we've been Spark friends for so long. I don't know how many of the shows we can afford but there is plenty to do around the area so it will be so much fun. Let's put our order in now for good weather!

WG - I talked to the dr office and they suggested I take Mucinex DM and call them back on Monday if it's not any better. What's up with that???? Anyway, the Mucinex DM does seem to be helping so perhaps they actually know what they are talking about.

OK, going to try to post and hope that I don't lose it! Tried to post early this morning and every time I'd get about done, it would just disappear!! Two times it did that.

Weezie2, it is hard to believe that Kami is 4 but then I look at Brooke and she is 13!!! YIKES!! She is taller than me and "lords" it over me all the time. I'd have to wear spike heels to be taller than her!

WG, your terminology is awesome!! You should be a writer!! Hope that you enjoyed your day.

PJ, didn't you go to knitting today too?

Tammy, you know I've never done a MONDO bag or the MIDI bag either one. But I guess I should try with all the scraps I have!

Weezie, the row by row is really awesome and I guess that we should partake!! I'll get you patterns from Sharynn's. You get me ones from up there. I know that The Back Door in Indianapolis is also doing it so when I'm up there tomorrow I'll get you their pattern.

I went down in the southern part of the county to a friend's house and looked at her gardens. She has an awesome place! She has lots of wild flowers and is going to give me seeds from some of her plants later this fall. Before we left she gave me a package of their own beef and some of her freezer corn!! We had a great supper of hamburgers and corn! That was some of the best hamburger I've ever eaten! No hormones, etc. with their beef.

Tomorrow we are going to Indy. I need to find some clothes to wear to this wedding in August. Not really wanting to spend any money but need a few things. I've got a dress to wear to the wedding itself. I just need a causal dress to wear to the rehearsal dinner. We'll see what I can find.

A group of about 25 members of our church and Fr. Meyer left on Monday for the Holy Land. They landed safely in Israel and have started their pilgrimage. But if you pray, please remember them and pray for their safety. Thanks!

Now need to get my tush into bed!!

Hello to you all!

Weezie, hard to believe Kami is 4. The time sure has flown as I well know watching my little people grow up. Scary. Guess it means we too are getting older.

Funny to share. Ava was here the other night and drawing and writing her letters, etc. She came over to show me her picture of grumpa and to explain that it was grumpa whose old and died. What????? Where do they get this stuff anyway. How do you not laugh. I love watching her grow.

Tammy glad you're working on the midi bags and scraps is the way to go. I have enough squares to make two MONDO bags out of scraps. Finished one last night so now to start yet another. I have about 5 I want to do and give away. Yes, I'm an soft touch. So have you seen the row-by-row project? I know LG says they are doing it in IN and my sister in GA has asked I get her a kit from a store or two around here when I'm able. Stopped tonight so we shall see. I think it is neat but not sure I'll partake. Not sure why though.

Off to knitting group tonight and wondering about food. I'm working hard on the gluten free thing but know I must get more organized so I'm ready when the urge hits and all. Today I had eggs for breakfast with a couple slices of bacon I baked (never did that before, thanks LG) and for lunch I had a grilled piece of chicken. I do miss my bread so hoping it gets easier or actually, I need to get to the store to find some gluten free stuff to try. I've had some suggestons on what is and isn't good but something would be nice once in awhile. I now thing the dairy is going to kick. Oh joy!

Okay, need to scoot. Do hope all are doing well and will check back when I am able.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, "deliberate happiness" - I really, really like that term! That IS what I am doing, of course, and for multiple reasons I am putting it out there in the usually despised FB... emoticon I really did enjoy the 5K and visiting with the student. I really didn't know anyone at all when I did the AHA HeartWalk in April, and while it was a beautiful day, I was proud of the $$$ I raised, and it was fitness, it really wasn't as much "fun". The "girls night out" sounds like fun!

Weezie2, then Kami was just a baby when I joined Sparkpeople! August will be me 4th Sparkversary. It was a while before I chased this team down, though. emoticon How much fun it must be to watch her grow.

SS and PJ, less than two months now before the two of you get the privilege of meeting me! emoticon The three of us are members of the RV Enthusiasts team and some of the team is meeting in Branson in September. Judy, you aren't that far from Branson - perhaps you could make it over? PJ, that is neat that both sons will be walking with you! I am wondering - if DS moves in, could he possibly rent the house?

Weezie, I am cutting out 2 1/2 inch blocks for the Quiltsmart MidiBag - enough that I will make my youngest sister one as well. They are going to be bags of many colors, because I am still it use-it-up mode.

I also went by a fabric store yesterday and did actually buy some fabric, but it was a solid to use to set blocks together that WERE from my stash. So many wonderful fabrics, so much to still use up, so little room in the Sewing Cave, and only so much $$$.... emoticon "My name is Tammy and I am a fabric-a-holic..."

I finished another book by Emilie Richards. Some of you might wish to check out her books. They are fairly easy reading.

JO, how are you doing?

Good, good news about baby Garrett yesterday - he got to go home! Woohoo! Parents really don't want pics on FB, so I didn't put any up...Baby's Grandma Kerry [my youngest SD] is not on call this weekend, so she is going up this weekend and will finally get to hold him. She is already feeling envious of time the other biological grandma gets to spend and I guess has even talked to her son about it. His reply "Well, mom, I can't help it that they live here and you don't." Which is true, of course...I suspect within the next year she will move to St. Louis, but with being an RN and with her experiences, it shouldn't be hard to find a job.
We shall see. As of yesterday's update, I do not know when/if Zach will need to go back to Afghanistan.

My youngest niece had her baby today, and all is well there. So Baby #4 for 2014 is here and all is well.

Have a good evening! Hello to everyone!

Good morning. It is beautiful and about 70 right now. Just finished the front lawn and Fabio is coming. We'll go get gas and a car wash then come home for breakfast and a day of fun.

Had a "girls night out" with my daughters and DIL. The other 3 were invited but unable to come. It was a fun visit and these three get along well. It was a fun visit. Got to visit Raphael as they came for some gifts. He is getting so big and is "talking" and smiling. I also got to see Snow White which was a treat.

It is hard to believe Kami is 4. What a treat she is. I'm so glad you have the opportunity to spend time with her.

Off to get things done today. Am working the next two days so there is a lot to do.

SS, hope you make it in to the doctor today.

LG, hate losing posts. Did you get the laundry done?

PJ, hope the painting is going well. It sounds like a "new house" when you get it all done.

Tammy, I'm enjoying your deliberate happiness. It is wonderful to get a laugh or smile from your fun posts. A winter garden sounds fun. I love that the students want to run with you. Clearly they are enjoying your healthier lifestyle with you. It is nice that they think well of you also.

Have a wonderful day all. Hi to Weezie, Judy, Becky, Carol, TB, and others.

Good Morning!
We had several T-storms move through during the night but it is sunny and bright this morning. It was too wet to want to sit out on our deck though. Today I am going to work around the house doing laundry and paying bills.

Weezie2 - Kami is turning 4??? Where has that time gone. It seems like just yesterday you were so excited about her birth.

LG - I hate when that happens but it has happened to all of us! Talk to you again soon, I hope!

Good morning,
I've spent the past few days at a water park with my extended family. I feels wonderful to be back home and sleeping in my own bed.

I need to finish Kami's train quilt for her birthday today. It's hard to believe my baby girl is 4 today. This time with her has been such a blessing.

Have a great Wednesday! I need to get sewing

Good Evening Seesters!
A busy day for us. We left this morning to head out to our friends house. They had a big hole in their living room wall from a mounted TV that isn't there any longer. So Norm patched the hole and it looks good as new. Because we wouldn't take any money, they took us out for lunch. We ended up at a Bob Evans and had a wonderful meal. I don't know why we don't go more often!

Tonight we weren't very hungry so I made some popcorn to snack on.

PJ - only time will make you feel better over the engagement. I hope only the best for them. But, you're right, they will do what they want.

WG - I think you may be right. My friend today told me that her doctor said hers had went into bronchitis and that it wouldn't go away without antibiotics as it was a viral infection. I think I better call my doctor tomorrow just to be on the safe side.

Tammy - I am unable to help you in regards to FB. They just randomly throw out people that you have mutual friends with. They have thrown certain people at me for as long as I've had a FB account. I just skip over the post. If I wanted them as friends, I would have done it on my own. If anyone knows a way, I'd be interested as well.

LG - sorry you provided food for a 100 and only had 40. Very disappointing but it sounds like the family will be set for awhile. I would also have very tired feet although I do better up and walking. It's standing in one place that kills me!

Well we have the laundry room and kitchen put back together almost. I have the first coat on the accent wall I am painting that joins the kitchen and dining room together should be able to finish that on Thursday. I have knitting tomorrow morning, getting my haircut tomorrow afternoon and I am so excited about that appointment. Not sure what kind of cut I am going to get but will be shorter. In between I will go to dads and eat lunch with him, do his meds and unfortunately deliver bad news. His oldest sister passed this morning so Frank and I will be taking him back to Iowa for the funeral this weekend. Not sure how he will take it since he has been so depressed from our April trip back. Will hope it doesnít make him worse.

I finally had a text from youngest DS. I was sure I upset him with my message but I politely spoke my mind. The 5K is August 2 and both my boys will be doing with me. The youngest said he and his new family?! Would be out of town next week but back in time for the 5K.

Sharon glad GS was able to call home and is enjoying his training. You better go to the doctor.

Thanks to all the comments I had about short engagement etc I am feeling better. I did like her at our first meeting itís the quickness that got to me. And the question of what he will do with his house because I think he will move in with them. I do worry that he will just let his house go and get repossessed by the bank, but time will tell. Its his life and his credit etc. So he will have to live with whatever he does.

LG I am not privy to any date or time frame as of yet. Glad you were able to have the family take home the leftovers.

Tammy I think you should see about another 5K when the temp is cooler. I think you have some former students that are very proud of you.

WG Fabio time is important hold him as much as you can while he will let you.

Hi Seesters. Have Fabio today. He arrived while I was mowing so the mower is sitting in the middle of the lawn. I thought I'd get part of the mowing done before he came and I did. Just not enough.

He is needing to be held a lot today so I'll not be getting much done.

Tammy, I don't know if it is permanent, but I will click at the top right of the names I don't want to see and they disappear. Another will replace it but that one will be gone. I don't know if it is permanent but it works for a while.

LG, that is a lot of standing. I walk in my job and that is a lot less tiring than standing in one place. Sorry the people didn't get the turnout they were expecting. That's a lot of leftovers. Do you have containers or bags or what to send the food home? We sometimes send the food to those who are less fortunate in the area as well.

SS, could be bronchitis, but could also be a sinus infection or something simple. A few drugs wouldn't hurt. You will feel better when you can sleep again.

Off to be Grandma and play with the little guy. He is very cuddly and cute as he crawls around the house. Much less of a dust mop than he was a week ago.

Have a wonderful day all.

Hi, Seesters!

I was useless yesterday, and even today while out walking it took a very long time for the old endorphin rush to kick in. Usually that happens in ten minutes or less; today it was almost an hour. I am not sure what is up with that. Perhaps it is nothing.

Does anyone know if there is a way to hide certain individuals that FB recommends as friends for you, based on your friends' lists? I would prefer NOT to see my ex popping up, even though it has been almost 25 years. emoticon I know how to hide those who are my friends' posts if they get on a tangent, etc, but I don't know how to hide recommendations. Sometimes I just amuse myself by considering replying to some of the same threads - as we do have mutual FB friends - like I said, just for my own amusement. emoticon

It was indeed a very pleasant surprise to visit with the former student. I also had another former student who told me on FB that she would be very pleased to do a run with me sometime. I obviously was asking the wrong people to do them with me! LOL I may try to fit another in this fall.

I am going to take my amused self back to household chores...have a good day!

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Hey, gals!! How is everyone? I'm a bit tired! Got up yesterday morning early, did my work out and then went to chapel. Left there and went directly to the Parish Center and we began to cook for the funeral dinner. We were told to prepare for 100 people but only 40 came! Talk about a lot of left overs! Most of the family took it home. So we didn't have to throw much out. I was tired after 5 hours on my feet. Yes, WG, I would not make a good nurse!!! Came home and took a nap! And I slept very good last night. Not much on my agenda today just a mani-pedi and getting the church laundry. Haven't done that yet.

SS, I think it is time to see a doc about that cough. Gone on too long. Glad that GS got to call home. I'm sure that his mom was thrilled!

Tammy, what a pleasant surprise to meet up with a former student. It's always nice to know you were appreciated.

WG, being short staffed where nursing is concerned is a BIG concern! Too much to do and not enough hands make patients nervous and grouchy!

PJ, like SS said most churches require some counseling before marriage. So hopefully they will want to get married in a church. Do you know when they plan to get married?

Weezie1, Weezie2, TB, Judy, Jo, Carol, & anyone else that I've missed emoticon Got to run....

Morning!
I haven't mentioned it lately but I still have this stupid cough that won't go away from the last time I was sick. I've been taking Mucinex DM on someone's recommendation. Some days I think it's working but last night was another bad night. It's always worse when I lay down to sleep. If it's not better by the time my Mucinex DM runs out, I think it's time to call the doc.

That being said, after such a bad night of sleep, I slept in this morning. Even then I didn't feel rested or wanted to get up.

My GS was able to call home yesterday and my DD was so happy she could talk to him! It was a 10 min call this time and every minute is good. He is doing well and actually enjoying his basic training. He enjoyed throwing hand grenades but didn't like the gas chamber! He especially enjoys the marching and Cadence calls. He is physically keeping up and thinks he's lost some weight! It's good to hear he is enjoying his time of training and is doing well.

Tammy - so glad you enjoyed your 5k last night. The bonus was meeting a former student. It was nice that he felt comfortable and spent some time catching up with you.

WG - it is difficult at times to take care of people but it takes a special person to do it. I would not be a good nurse but that makes me have more respect for those that are. My former SIL is an RN and I used to love to hear his stories.

PJ - I hope you are feeling a little more comfortable about your DS and his engagement. Be sure and schedule in some time with them both so you can get better acquainted and can see their love. I always say I can be happy with my kids choices as long as they're happyl. I don't have to live with their choices!

LG - I'm glad you were able to attend Fr Meyer in his new parish. I feel bad he's not happy but he's a man of God and will stay where he feels God has lead him. He had some really great friends he had to leave behind. Perhaps with time he will be as happy with this new parish as he was at the previous one.

Hello, Seesters!

Yes, the new mower is a small rider. Our lawn isn't terribly big, but DH also has his routine for the grass and then leaves with attachments for a rider. LOL!

I finished DS and DIL's quilt on Saturday before the 5K. They don't know it is finished yet. I thought they would be here yesterday, and was going to give it to them then. DS is meeting himself coming and going, between moving into their house, work, and school. He and DIL are taking a few days to visit Nashville on a mini-vacation this next weekend, and DH and I are going to be in Branson, so it will be a while yet before the quilt is gifted. I will try to put a pic on my Sparkpage in the next few days.

Baby Garrett is off the CPap now; I suspect he will go home in the next couple of days.

The fall garden made another jump forward when I planted a couple of rows of turnips yesterday. Everything else will be planted soon after we get back from Branson.

The 5K went very well, and my walking pace was very good for me with my bum foot. It was held at the last place I worked and I hadn't been back in five years, for some emotional reasons. The fact that I was willing to go was a sign that I was doing better; now that I have the 5k done, I know I have made more progress. I did enjoy the evening setting, as well. I was surprised/pleased to see one of the seniors from the last year that I was there and who took two dual credit classes with me. I enjoyed visiting with him before the 5K; he ran it and then I was surprised to see that as I was about 1/2 mile from finishing that he was waiting for me and visited with me some more. Made me feel good!

PJ, the church may even require counseling before a ceremony can be performed there. I wanted to say the flowers she gave you were lovely. It will just be a couple of weeks before you do the walk with Tony, won't it? I want to do some painting in our house; I should probably say I want DH to do it. I think I would enjoy it, but he really enjoys it and so I would probably not choose to do it since he enjoys it so much.

WG, taking care of people IS good, but sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves...how are you doing with that?

Hello to everyone. After some days of much cooler temps, it is to be in the 90s again, and DH warned me that I should probably walk early, so I will be doing that soon.

Good evening. Home from work. It was a very long day. Started short staffed and took a long time to catch up. Sometimes I wish it were easier to take care of people, but it is still a good thing.

PJ, glad you got the walls painted and things put back together. I like white doors. It brings light into a room.

Hope things are going well for your sons. I'm sure they will talk to each other about this and other things as well and will perhaps have some ideas to discuss.

LG, it was nice to see an old friend. I'm sure he is taking that time finding new friends. One of the nice things about people I enjoy is they enjoyed their old friends and new ones in the same ways. If they didn't like where they were or who they were with, it is the same in the new place.

Hope things work well at the funeral tomorrow.

SS, I'm imagining being on your deck and enjoying the view and the cool morning air.

Have a good day all. I'm off to bed.

Made great progress today. The washer and dryer are back in place. Hot water heater is working properly and I was able to run the dishwasher last night. We bought a new showerhead so I am really looking forward to my nice hot shower this evening.

The color I picked out really goes beautifully with the flooring. It has been a really pick me upper for me today. I do have to go get some door paint tomorrow while it is on sale. I decided to keep the door between the laundry room and the garage white instead of the new color which I think would make it too dark in there.

I have been thinking of my son all day today and just finished composing a nice message to send him. Asked a few questions and suggested that since they have gone to church together maybe they could get some premarriage counseling from the church. I donít know if that will happen but a nice neutral party talking to them would be beneficial I think. I assured him that we just want him to be happy and healthy and how proud we were of all the progress he has made this year and hope that he will continue to take care of himself and his little house either to live in or sell or rent.

LG glad you were able to visit with Fr Meyer. I do hope he gets to liking his new parish better but he knows that is supposed to be there and has accepted that. There is a reason for it. Good luck with your funeral dinner I do hope you have some help with it. Is it a full dinner or sandwiches etc.

I do hope you all have a wonderful Sunday afternoon.

PJ, you are in my prayers and thoughts as I feel as you do that this relationship sends up red flags all over the place. But also agree that saying anything could do more harm than good. He is happy and just like any one doesn't want anyone to tell him that he might be making a mistake. Many times I've had to hold my tongue. Not easy for me!! emoticon I've seen both of my kids make mistakes that they could have avoided if they had listened to us. Keep busy and try not to let it get to you.

WG, hope that you have everything back in place asap!

SS, when do you leave for Towerpoint? Told Thomas that we should fly out to see you all some time!

Kids and grandkids have been here since yesterday afternoon. We went over to Fr. Meyer's new parish. It was so nice to see him and visit for a while. He really isn't happy but as he said he will do it because God wants him too!! Great man!!

We have a funeral dinner tomorrow for 100 people so I won't be here until late. A lot of my committee is gone so I'll be "flying by the seat of my pants!!" We normally have 6-8 people but will only have 4 maybe 5. But it'll all work out.

Good Morning! Another beautiful morning to enjoy our morning coffee on our deck!

PJ - You have every right to be concerned. I see lots of red flags! However, he is a full grown adult who will do whatever he wants. Your disapproval would only alienate him. Right now he is happier than he's ever been and he doesn't want anyone to tell him to "be careful or take it slow". Over the years we have all had to bite our tongues where are kids are concerned, but in the end we have been there for them when they have needed us. Just be there to either share in his happiness or be there when he needs support. Either way he's your son and he has a right to do what he wants to as an adult. I can see where life's stresses could be getting you down but keep busy and this too will pass.

LG - Congrats on your weight being down at the Drs! I'm happy you were able to cut down on your BP meds. That is what I hope to accomplish. I don't blame you for not wanting surgery. Hopefully, it is something you can live with but at least when it gets unbearable, you know you can correct it with surgery.

WG - Everything seems to be winding down on your renovating. I can relate to enjoying new sinks. I am still loving my new sinks!

PJ, sounds like an interesting time. Sometimes it works out well, but I'd be concerned if it was my son as well. I agree that a wait wouldn't hurt but you know how things are going down and will be there for him regardless.

So glad you are painting. The color should look great with your new floor. I do love it.

Have a great day.

Tammy, good luck on the walk tonight. My DD and DSIL did it a couple of years ago. Loved it.

Life is a roller coaster full of surprises and I really got one today. The youngest DS sent me a message that he and his lady friend are engages. He has only known her for a few weeks. I am still shocked and pray they donít rush into marriage, but no deep down that they wonít wait long. She has a lot of issues that I havenít expressed until now. You know about the 2 boys which are her great nephews by marriage not blood and her husband just passed away about 4 months ago after many years of illness. She also has some short term memory issues (she says from an accident she had prior not sure how long ago). Iím thinking she is on disability. DH and I have come to the conclusion that there isnít anything we can do but hope for the best. He was just starting to get his life together in a positive way and hopefully this is not a mistake. But nothing we can do about it. Lots of questions in our minds.

DH did get the hot water installed so tomorrow it will be back to painting for me and hopefully getting things put back where they belong. I also have a 5 gallon bucket full of fresh green beans to can. The busier I am right now the better off I will be until I can get a handle on everything. Of course it will be rather interesting the first time we see DS again whether he is alone of with his fiancť.

Thanks for listening to be ramble.

Its been a couple of days since I posted. We did get the flooring down and it looks so wonderful and we got out yesterday and bought a new hot water heater and I got my paint. So today I started painting. And it is not white paint. Its a khaki color and I really love the color. I was so tired of white walls so this painter won the battle over color. DH always wants white.

Tomorrow I have a hospice funeral to attend at 1pm. They havenít called on my volunteer services for quite some time so I am honored to be helping them by attending the funeral representing hospice.

I set up a hair appointment for next Wed to get my hair cut probably short again. I am so ready I was trying to let the layers grow out but I canít stand it anymore.

The VA called saying they had an opening for dad, but I turned them down so he is at the bottom of the list again. He isnít ready to move and frankly I wasnít ready to have him go there yet. He is still functioning quite well in his apartment and I have contacted an agency that can and will take care of his Rx while we are gone this winter and call me if anything doesnít seem right with him. I think this will be better for all of us for the time being.

Weez good luck with the job. I hope you get it if it suites you.

WG glad you at least got the AC hooked up.

SS so I guess we have to ask for your autograph now. LOL

LG good news on the BP meds. Sorry about the hand though. Is it carpal tunnel or something else.

Tammy enjoy that new mower. There is no way we could do our mowing without a rider. We mow about 3 Ĺ acres.

Hi Seesters. Home today. Wasn't sleeping well so when I finally went back to sleep, I slept through the time I'd planned to get up. Have been playing catch up all day.

Have Fabio today and have had to keep him and the dog apart. The dog tolerates kids but not when they chase her around after she has announced she is done. Some days her old bones handle the kids better than others. Mama should be here in a couple of hours and hopefully I'll get to the organic stand. I need some produce and need to head to get veggies and fruits. I've seen corn already and am so ready for some fresh stuff.

The guy is here doing the finishing stuff on the furnace and I'll be done and a bit broker. Loving my sink and countertops. Loving the cupboards but not moved in yet. Have moved some stuff in and haven't decided how to do the rest.

SS, sounds like fun for you. I know you have a lovely yard and home and you spend time putting your personality into it. The neighbors will know about it and will remember. Not everyone is important.

LG, it is a hard decision about the hand. When it is right, you will do something about it.

Tammy, a riding mower? That is impressive. How long does it take to mow?

Off to get Fabio to bed. He is having a hard time settling down at home as well. His parents will work on the problem.

Have a great day all.

First, I want to say that I'm sorry that I've been MIA!! It has been one hectic week around here. I can't believe it is Friday! Had to go to the doctor's yesterday but got good news....weight is down some (not what I want) and BP is way down!! In fact, it is down enough that I get to cut down on the meds!! emoticon Then today I had to go to the hand doctor but unless I'm willing to have surgery there isn't anything he can do for me. So I'll live with it for now. I'm not willing to have surgery at this time.

SS, that will be so much fun to be in a commercial! And to have your house in it is a bonus to boot!!

Tammy, is the mower a rider? Glad that you got a new one!! It will be easier for you.

I've got to finish cleaning the bathroom today as all the kids and grands are coming tomorrow. We are going to go to Mass over at Fr. Meyer's new parish on Saturday evening. They will be spending the night and then head home on Sunday. The kids start back to school in 2 weeks!! emoticon YIKES!! They have a lot of school shopping to do. The kids wear uniforms that they can get a Lands End or Penny's. So they will be shopping on Saturday morning to get some of that done.

Need to get busy......

Hello Ladies!

Keeping busy as always! I'm happy as we have a couple days of really nice weather before the heat and humidity is supposed to set in. Norm was able to complete the deck yesterday. I got a new comforter and sheets for our waterbed so I spent the morning deep cleaning the bedroom and changing out the bed. I don't mind sleeping on the waterbed but it's a pain to change the sheets. After all these years I haven't found an easy way of doing it.

Our park is filming a commercial that is running on Charter TV. They asked if they could use our home and yard to highlight. Norm gets the credit but it is really looking good! I think Norm and I will also be in the film so we'll be celebrities! (At least in the local area) Don't get too excited though as my sister was in a commercial for her company and not one single person has stopped her and asked for her autograph!

New lawn mower is purchased and I was the first to drive it . DH mowed and I trimmed.

I have had some sewing time and that is always a good thing.

Have a good evening, Seesters!

It's been a very busy day here. Started out nice and sunny but cool. Now the temp isn't even 75 and cloudy. Too cool for me this time of year. Last night we went to Carmen's soft ball game and like to froze! Those fields are open and the wind just whips thru there like crazy. Brooke, Luke and I went to the car after 2.5 innings. I was beginning to hurt from the cold. Thomas and I went to St. Vincent de Paul this morning and worked for 2.5 hours. They are getting ready to start a building program and lots of things had to moved. It is amazing what people "dump" at places like that. Most of it belongs in the dumpster!!!

Tammy, sorry about the lawn mower. But after 15 years that isn't too bad. Glad that the babies are doing well.

WG, I'd take your temps over ours right now. The heat doesn't bother me too much (unless I'm working out in it). These cooler ones are hard on my joints. Glad that you have A/C!

Weezie, is the job 3 miles from where you live or where you now work? Hope that you got some sleep and glad that you decided not to keep Ava on Saturday. I know that is hard but you also need YOUR time.

Got to get some supper done and ready so I'll see y'all tomorrow.

Hi, Seesters!

There will be a new lawn mower purchased before the weekend.... emoticon I guess it is time; the one that we have was purchased used and we have had it at least ten years, and likely fifteen.

I spent some time in the She Cave this morning and am about to go back and spend more time in there. It is only in the 70s here, so walking time did not need to be as early as is usual in July. Some gardening time would be good as well.

Baby Garrett is under a blue light now - jaundice - but Baby Owen is doing well.

Have a very good day!

Good evening. I stopped by this morning but before I could post, Fabio came. I've been busy with the HVAC guys and while they aren't done, I've got cold. They left before they could hook up the heat but will return later this week. Others also are hot.

I could use some of that unseasonably cool but it isn't going to happen. 102 yesterday but a few degrees cooler today. Last night was pretty miserable. Hoping tonight is better with the central cooling.

Weezie, will keep good thoughts. Three miles is a great commute any time. I hope they will give you good benefits as well.

SS, so glad Norm's results are good. I'm glad you are making plans for the future and have got your place at Tower Point. I'm always glad when I bring the tree home that it isn't all that big. Much less to carry in.

LG, I'm glad I don't have a friend who owns a fabric shop. Don't think I can handle the fabric

Tammy, glad the baby is doing well and ANOTHER one is wonderful. All those babies who have birthdays close. They will enjoy that all their lives.

PJ, I'm so glad that your son has found someone to care for and who cares for him.

Got to run. I didn't get anything done today and need to work on some things.

Evening ladies

Hope all are doing well. Had a busy day with doctor appointments and a suggestion has been made that I go dairy and gluten free. Now this will be a lifestyle change for me for sure but if it helps me feel better and rid me of the headaches and possibly even the lesions on my brain, I guess it is worth a shot. It will take a bit of time but I gotta try. Suggestions ladies?

Ava is here tonight for just a little bit. Mom should be here soon and then we are free. We told her if she could make arrangements for Saturday with one of her sisters, we would prefer as we need a break. I'm still trying to recover from the weekend and I'm so very tired. Hoping to catch up a bit and just time in my sewing room to relax and time to myself. I'm in need.

Work is nuts yet again for a variety of reasons. I did apply for a new job in a school system but only 3 miles down the road. The posting was up yesterday so now to wait and see if I get a shot at this. I'm not telling my boss unless I get an interview. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I think I would be able to negotiate my same amount of time off which is very important to me. I really don't want to give it up.

Weather has turned cooler here. Almost fall like today and for the next couple of days. Weird for July but really, I'm not complaining. I love fall but just not ready for another winter. Not yet.
Feels like the summer is flying by I'm afraid. Crazy how fast they seem to go.

PJ, tickled about your news where your son is concerned. Always nice and new love is very special. Do keep us posted.

Now I need to scoot before Sara gets here for Ava. Just wanted to say hello.

Have a great Wednesday ladies!!!

PJ - I would be happy too about your son's new romance. I think you did the right thing - welcomed her and the boys with open arms and support but told them to be smart and take it slow. On the other hand, they are full grown adults and therefore know what they want in a mate. Plus, we all know no matter how much you love your spouse, a good marriage is always a work in progress. So with all that said, I hope things work out for them. Can't wait to see pictures of the new laundry room. You are taking pics, right? Yes, we will return home after Branson for about six weeks before we leave for the winter.

LG - I hope your weather is better than ours. It is windy and cold out, plus rain off and on. No matter, enjoy Carmen's game and sending good vibes for a win!

In between rain showers we went to a nursery and bought a Cleveland Flowering Pear tree to replace one that didn't survive our rough winter. It looked a lot bigger in the nursery but when it wasn't raining and Norm planted it, it didn't look near as big. Oh well, at least it's alive.

Wanted to stop by for just a minute. I worked at Sharynn's (quilt shop) today and just got home and now we are leaving in a few minutes to go to Carmen's game. I had a great time working and of course I found some fabric that I now "can't live without"!!

Sharon, I'm doing the happy dance for you and Norm!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

PJ, and I'm emoticon for you and your DS!!!

What a wonderful day this has been. I did get to Zumba this morning and I think we have everything unplugged moved and ready for the flooring to be installed tomorrow.

But even better than all that is we met the youngest sonís lady friend and the 2 boys she is guardian to. They are all just wonderful. I have never seen my son so happy and TT (the girlfriendís nickname) is just perfect for him. After all these years I think he has finally found the one for him and a family to boot. He was smiling the entire time as was TT and this momma is too. I told them both just take it slow even though they both are in love with the other this has been a fast relationship over just a couple of months. It was so nice to have boys in the house playing again (6 and 8). I opened up the old toy chest filled with toys my boys played with and they had a ball. TT is entirely different than the other DIL. But that isnít a bad thing afterall both my sonís have entirely different personalities also. So they each have someone that suits them and their lifestyles.

Sharon glad to hear Normís results were all good and now you have your winter schedule all lined out. So will you go back home after Branson before heading to Tower Point. Holidays arenít an issue for us we just celebrate before we go south an early Christmas.

Tammy glad to hear Baby Garret and momma are doing so well and that Zach should be home by now.

Hair cuts Ė I have been letting mine growout from all the layers and longer but I canít stand it much longer and will be making an appointment to get it cut as soon as I can after getting the house put back together again. So Iím thinking shorter and layered but no razor cut scissors only this time.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Good Morning!
It appears we are in for another day of rain but much cooler temps only in the 60's! Now that's a surprise - NOT!

Norm got his results yesterday and we are tickled. The blood tests were all negative and the PET scan did not light up or glow which indicates the mass is not active and was classified as as inactive granuloma. So no surgery at this time! They will do another PET scan when we return from AZ to make sure it hasn't changed.

So we got right on the phone to call Towerpoint and make our reservations. The site we've had for the last few years is still available so we booked it from Nov 1st through May 1st. Now we have dates and can make our plans and deal with the backlash when our DD finds out we will be gone for the Holidays once again!

Our friends came for lunch yesterday and we went to a nearby restaurant that they enjoy. We made it through the meal but when we got back to our house, she wanted to leave as she was feeling sick. It's probably good she didn't have her surgery but as WG said no sense risking her life.

Tammy - two new babies! If they live close to each other, those cousins will grow up close. I was always close to my cousins (still am).

WG - I envy you a self cleaning oven! I cleaned my oven a week or so ago. The cheap appliances that came with the house have no features like that!

Hi, Seesters!

Baby Garrett is still in NICU, but has been taken off the vent and yesterday evening was on a CPAP machine to help with his breathing. Kerry sent me a picture of him with his "binky". Kerry and his brother went to pick up Zach yesterday morning at the St. Louis airport, and mom Mary has been taken off the IV blood pressure meds, so that is an improvement as well.

More baby excitement...Garrett's first cousin Owen arrived about 11 p.m. last night, very close to his due date. Pictures that I saw show that Owen's older sister Halli, who turns 2 today, is very thrilled with him.

So, there are first cousins - Garrett, Owen, and Halli with birthdays three days in a row. Can't you just see how that will develop in years to come?

I am taking DIL to lunch today, and will also be going to a fabric shop and to piano lessons - a good day!

Have a good day, Seesters!

HI all. Still cooking and working. Cleaning the oven outside before I bring it in. It is self cleaning and really needs a clean. Don't want to bring that heat inside.

The AC was on inside (small portable unit) when I got home and the bedroom is about 87. It should be around 80 by 2-3 am and I'll survive. I have one of those cooling chamois that I wet down and cool off as it evaporates and the AC sends air down the hall. Need to replace windows in the bedrooms next but that will wait a bit for things to quit breaking.

Tammy, that is great news. Hope the family is together now. Glad the baby is doing better.

SS, so sorry your friend didn't get her surgery. It is frustrating to be prepared mentally and not be able to go but it is a cosmetic procedure and not worth risking health for.

Off to bed. Hi to all. Take care. ;

Good Morning!

I'm hoping for a rain free day so things can dry up outside. So far the sun is shining!

Our friends are coming over to visit this afternoon. She was supposed to have surgery (for excess eyelid removal) but it was canceled. She had an asthma attack with bronchitis so the surgeon wasn't comfortable being her under. It will be rescheduled when she is feeling better but today she is feeling down so a visit is in order to get her mind on something else!

Tammy - I can only imagine how anxious Zach is to get home to his wife and new baby. I'm glad you got some good news on FB for a change!

LG - I try to spend less time on the computer. Some days it works and some days it don't! We miss you when you're gone but you're still in our thoughts. I'm glad your puppy sit was successful. That makes it easier to say yes in the future.

WG - it sounds like you had a fun weekend surrounds by family. Yes, the dog was nervous and just doing normal dog stuff and so was Bailey. I can't get mad at the dogs but it's just another reason why I'm not a big dog lover.

Hi, Seesters!

We found out yesterday that Zach got to announce the baby was a boy via FaceTime. I thought that was cool. I saw on FB this morning that he was in DC, and headed out to St. Louis shortly. This is one of my "happy with FB" days. LOL! Baby Garrett was/is in NICU, and was on a vent from some time yesterday, but Mama Mary posted this morning that he is doing better this morning. Thank you all for your prayers.

I got to the sewing room and put some more blocks together. That made me feel accomplished. LOL!

I got my fall garden started yesterday by planting some bush varieties of cucumbers, zucchini, and green beans in planters. The packages said each of them could be planted through July and I wanted to get started on that fall garden project. I now have a timeline of when I want/need to plant the other things I want to plant.

PJ, I hope you like DS's lady friend as much as you think you will, too. I have a fun event tomorrow as well; I am picking DIL up from her workplace and taking her to lunch, and then will take her back to work. I hope it is fun for her as well. LOL

I need to go walk now and get busy with "chores" as well. Have a good day, Seesters!

Hello, everyone!

Got busy this morning and did some needed "chores"! Just now getting to the computer. We handed off the dog to Jason earlier this afternoon. I must admit that the dog was not a problem. Not one mess here.

Didn't make it to the sewing room and now I'm just too tired and all it would do is invite Jack. Don't want to have a guest so I won't go!!

WG, glad that your kids are able to help you out. That is always nice.

PJ, when mom was in assisted living dogs weren't allowed. Therapy dogs came every week a couple of times per week. Since your dad has an apartment it probably won't change. And your DS sounds like he is "getting it together"! So happy for him.

Tammy, your DD probably knows deep down that she isn't ready for kids or I'm sure she would have had them by now. I know that my DD has said that she knows she can't handle kids. She has anxiety and I'm sure that would not be a good thing for her and she knows it.

Weezie, I'm sure you are so tired and ready to head back to work tomorrow. It's not easy at our age. I ran into a friend I haven't seen in probably 3 years and she told me that she is now raising her grand daughter who is 16! She's had her off and on since she was a baby but 4 years ago they petitioned the courts and got legal guardianship of the girl. She is some what younger than me but still a 16 yo!! WOW!!

I'm planning to tackle my bathroom tomorrow and then hit the kitchen before we get the new floor down at the end of July. So I may or may not be here tomorrow!!

Good afternoon. I've skipped Sunday School to come home and get ready for dinner. Found I was hungry so had a small snack then I'll get busy. Spent over 2 hours cleaning up after the grands and kids today from their visit yesterday. Most of the visit was while I was gone and they aren't as careful when they aren't being monitored. The fathers brought the kids so they could empty the back yard and garage of construction debris so I'm not complaining. DILs were at a wedding shower with me. They turned on a movie and turned the kids loose.

PJ, I do understand the dog messes. One lady where Mom was would let her dog out and leave the door open. Said the dog "needed to explore." Small dogs just make messes wherever they want. Their territory is so small. The other mess I completely understand. I was surprised and not completely so of the things the kids found in my house when we emptied it out. Mom's dog left a lot of messes in her home an in mine. It was part of the reason I remodeled this year. Had to get rid of the carpet that had been soiled so many times.

It will be fun to hear of the lady friend. Your son has a lot to offer. I'm glad he is finding someone to give it to. It sounds like you enjoy her already. He will enjoy the children as well.

Love your decorating ideas. With all the black and white, what is the accent color? It is always interesting to see it with all the other patterns and contrasts. What color for the room you are painting?

SS, the poor dog was nervous, I'm sure and marked her territory on the places that smelled most like Bailey. Normal but irritating. Hate having to clean up after the dog messes.

Jo, glad you are working on your round of health check ups. I know this is important to you. I like the idea of hiring a driver for your trips. It is expensive but probably worth the cost when you are safer and better able to take care of this. The car will not be hot and you won't have to worry about traffic. You could take the trip at other times as the driver can drop you off at the door. Do you have a little cart that you use to take your groceries to your place or do you make several trips?

Judy, it is so fun to run rivers. Hoping the kitchen is coming along well.

Tammy, glad the baby is doing well. While they were giving the mother Magnesium to lower her blood pressure, they were giving the baby steroids so the lungs will develop and work right. They do it every time a baby is being born too soon. It has greatly improved the survival of infants. It did so well that they stopped clinical trials before they were through so all infants could have that advantage. What blessings to be born in this time. Glad Daddy got to see the birth even if it was miles away. So grateful for that time.

I've been to the delivery of two of my grands and have been outside the room for several others. Most of the time, I'm more than happy to be called at home and not be there. It is a personal time for a family to bond and become a family. Not everyone feels that way and they have all their family and as many friends as they can present.

I do feel bad for DD but she is not in a place to have babies and when that time comes, she will be able to deal with it. There are many treatments when she is ready to improve chances of conceiving and she will be able to benefit.

Weezie, I know you had a great time with the grands and I do understand the relief when they go home and you have a moment to yourself. So glad your DH enjoys them as much as you do.

Weezie2, have you and Kami been picking this weekend?

I'm heading out to slice things and get ready for dinner. Got to have the food ready to serve and the grill ready to cook or it doesn't work.

Have a great day.

PJ - I doubt the pets where your dad lives will go away. They even brought therapy dogs through the hospital when Norm had his appendix surgery. At least they were on a leash and it would be hard to miss a dump. I am so happy to hear your DS has a lady friend. It also explains his determination to continue with his weight loss. I wish him nothing but the best!

Been cleaning out the laundry room and doing the rest of the laundry. Yuck to all the dirt that hides under and behind big items that donít get moved but once every 25+ years. Like my pantry cabinet. Tomorrow we will move the washer, dryer and hot water heater out so I will find more cleaning to do. At least I donít have to scrub the floor just run a vacuum over it.

I have been texting with my youngest sonís lady friend this morning. He is bringing her to meet us Tuesday and I really am excited to meet her. Hoping I like her as much as I think I will. She is raising 2 great nephews (boys ages 6 and 8 they are coming too) so she must have a good heart. This is the same son that we have been working on his house the last couple of months and the same one that has lost 90 pounds. This year seems to be a year for very positive changes for him. He is 43 so its about time and I am so glad to see the changes. He has never been married and no children.

Sharon love the pictures of the tea party entertainment. I had to tell the people in the office where dad lives about some animal piles left in the hallways. Iím sorry but they need to change the rules and not allow any pets there.

Tammy Glad Zach is going to get to come home. Thanks for the fb suggestion about Cobble Court Quilt Circle. I see if I can check on that. Lots of pictures on google under images too So glad that Garrett and mom and doing fine. Its nice to have a good memory for this day now.

Weez Iím sure you are a tired grandma. But it is fun at the same time.

Judy enjoyed the pictures of fb from the float trip. Joshua is turning into quite a young man. Not that little boy I met a few years ago.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Another round of storms went through in the night (straight from Weezie2 to us, lol). This morning it is very humid. Norm wanted a good and hearty breakfast to hold us over until this weather front moves out and he can use his grill so I made French Toast w/sausage. I even tracked it!

Tammy - congrats on the new baby in the family! I'm glad both mom and baby are doing well. I'm also relieved to hear the daddy is on his way. He isn't even here yet and I'm thinking it will be really difficult to have to leave in two weeks. I can understand how this feels to your DD and my heart goes out to her. But, you know she really isn't ready to be a mom yet although you can't say that and keep a good relationship. Let's just pray she matures soon and then there are so many alternative ways to have a baby if she can't get pregnant. As for so many at the hospital for the birth, that seems to be the way it is now days. Most of the time they are just there for support. Hopefully, they aren't in the room where she's birthing!

SEK - I enjoyed the pics on FB. They all show the beauty you were surrounded by. And you can see in Josh's face how much fun he was having.

Weezie - it's amazing how the little ones tire us out. You will be ready to go back to work so you can get into your normal routine.

I have to admit I'm not an animal lover as most of you know but I admire all you that share your homes with someone else's dog. My DD brought her little Chihuahua over for her tea party skit (the dog went over well) and the dog promptly dropped a load right where Bailey usually lays. I guess she was marking her territory. Then she went and rolled in Bailey's bed. Well, when Bailey came in she ended up peeing in her bed remarking her territory! Yikes, carpet clean and bed washing all in the same day. I guess if they were together more often that would not happen.

I started my itty bitty and mondo bags yesterday. I'm hoping to get them finished today. Like everything else them seemed more complicated to do than they really are. I hate when directions are like that.

My power was flickering last night with the storm that went through. Thankfully it didn't go out. Sitting in the dark is never fun.

Have a Great Sunday!

Baby Garrett arrived around 3:30 this morning, weighs over 6 pounds, Mom and Baby are doing well. Zach got to be there during at least part of the delivery via FaceTime. I think I shared earlier that he is on emergency leave from Afghanistan, and will be there tomorrow, I believe for 2 weeks. He was to be out of Afghanistan in January 2015, so I am assuming that is all the same, but I do not know.

This is a happy event for 7/13, and it will help this date be a happier one for me. My dad passed away on this day six years ago. My dad and Baby Garrett are not biologically related - Garrett is part of my stepfamily, but all the same, it is nice that I will always be able to think of a happy event that happened on the date.

Have a good day Seesters.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.
