Good morning ladies,

Well another busy week is behind me and I'm focusing on the retreat next month with Pat. I'll get through it.

The visit with my sister and her husband was very nice. I was sad to see them but glad my BIL was up for the trip. They are now on their way back to FL after visiting friends in Indiana. Yep, they were in the midst of the tornadoes in Kokomo but did have to spend time in their friends' basement. They lived in Kokomo back in their youth as there is a military base there so they wanted to visit again. Trying to tick off those bucket list things.

Had a doctor appt this past week and surprised to learn I am down 10 lbs from last year at this time. That was good news. So now I need to have bloodwork done and a bone density test. Then I should be good, I hope!! The eye is still got something going on as although he popped it when he gave me a steroid shot, he thinks a lot of was lost when it burst so if it isn't gone in 3 weeks, I need to call and he wants to shoot it again. Oh boy!! I get to have so much fun. NOT!! LOL

I need to put on the border on the top and bottom of the first of four t-shirt quilts I'm working on. Today is a good day to work on this stuff as it is dark, dreary, and rainy. So I will get moving and finish this one and start the next. The prep is the most time consuming piece I think. So I need to get moving.

I've read through the thread and everyone seems busy but this too is life. Do wish you all a great weekend!

Stopping by quickly. I've had a very "easy" day and I've enjoyed it. I even got to my sewing room and made one block for the embroidered baby quilt. That is progress.

Sharon: glad that you had such a great day. I'm getting my steps and exercise but eating hasn't been that great. But I got on the scales this morning and it was the same as last week but I was hoping for a loss. We went to a meeting at the museum today and they feed us. Got pizza and I only had ONE piece and a 1/4 of a piece of blueberry scone. But we'll see in the morning. And I don't blame you one bit about the challenges. I remember when I was on the BLC team and we did challenges every week and I was in charge of part of it and I spent way too much time on the computer.

WG, I too remember having Luke here and having a mess. I tried to "teach" him to pick up but he wasn't made to do it at home so he didn't think he had to do it here either.

PJ, I think it is the last of the month and people are trying to get everything they need before Labor Day Weekend.

We picked up Brooke last night and took her to Edinburg to play softball. They won the first game and Stephanie's parents came for that one. I always enjoy Patti as she is so sweet. Then Brooke had an hour off before the 2nd game. Rachel came with Luke and Stephanie's sister. Thomas and I left just before the 2nd game started. They also won the 2nd game. But poor Carmen's team lost again but the scores were better. Tomorrow Luke plays soccer at 8:30 and then Carmen has a volleyball tourney. SO I'll be sitting lots tomorrow.

I've had kind of a normal day - Norm putzing in the garage and me putzing in the house. I just got back from my last walk of the day. Exercise emoticon Eating - finished for the day at 1176 Calories and 19 Net Carbs. I wish everyone a good WI tomorrow morning!

PJ - I went to WalMart this afternoon to get a few items for the weekend, it was not busy! However, the $3 racks that were so full barely had anything on them. I'm sure glad I hit it when I did!

WG - I remember the days when I took care of my DD's three little ones. What a mess!! I don't envy you but I hope your DS helps clean up after them. No matter how good they are, they still leave a messy trail behind them. I could joke and say, just like my DH but it's not true. I'm the messy one that I have to pick up after, lol.

The car is still not finished. Norm decided to add a few extras so it slowed the painting down. That and some days we just need the car. Oh well, I like the price so I'll be patient. I hope to post pictures some time next week.

LG - I hope both girls have fun and win their games. Shame on you for eating cookies! I sure hope you can eek by with a maintain if not a loss in the morning! I'm still hoping for that elusive NO GAIN WEEK!

I have to admit that challenges do take up a lot of my time so I'm kind of glad this is the last week for this one. I intend to take a break before I do another one. I just don't want to take a break from trying to lose! The weeks are flying by and the wedding will be here before we know it and I want to look good in pictures!

I want to let you all know about the good experience I had with fitbit last night. Mine had developed an air bubble on the band and last night the band on the side had an area open up like it had come unglued. I got on their website and had a chat with their customer service. I bought this in July 2015 so the year warrant was over but they are sending me a replacement at no cost to me. That is the best customer service I have ever heard of and I have some other friends that have had the same experience only I think theirs was battery issues.

I will start painting the kids bedroom on Monday and figure 3 days to get it done by the time we put a Kilz coat and 2 coats of paint on. Will be glad to have that done and hopefully see the curtains hung and DGS moved back into their room before we leave on our trip.

I went to TJ MAx this morning and the grocery store both were packed. WHats up with that. I did pick up 3 Christmas presents at TJ Max for 3 of the grands. Its a start.

Hi Seesters.

I'm home from running errands and a quick stop for a cheese stick from the corndog truck. It wasn't impressive although I loved the corndog a couple of years ago. Now I can be done.

Now cleaning and doing laundry. It is amazing how much mess the kids make. Just normal mess but also extra mess as they never learned how to clean up after themselves. I do remember cleaning more when the kids were younger. Now when the house is quiet, things stay a bit nicer. Or at least they stay.

PJ, sounds like you have plenty to do over the next week or so. Then it is off on another adventure. I'm glad Frank's head is doing better. Is the yarn for your trip?

LG, have fun at the game. Hope you get things together for your retreat.

SS, you keep so busy with your friends. Did the car get painted?

Have a great day. I'm off to do things.

Just wanted to stop by and say emoticon We are heading to Columbus to pick up Brooke to get her to Edinburg to play softball. She will be catching but really likes to play outfield. Rachel will take her home as Carmen has a volleyball game and Stephanie coaches and Jason has to be there to take care of the gym.

Made cookies today but giving them away. Must admit that I ate a few of them! My WI Saturday won't be pretty.

Got to run as we have to leave.

Iíve been missing again.:( Not anything particular going on.

I bought some yarn this morning to start making the grand dogs more sweaters. Should be able to paint the GS bedroom next week I hope. The day after Labor Day we plan on heading west to Oregon and if all goes well will be gone about a month. I have told myself that there isnít anything I can do for dad and the time away will be good for me. Not much has changed with him the falling calls have now been once a week instead of every day. Big help on my stress level.

LG you gave the GD a good talk and Iím sure it helped her get through that crises.

Sharon Iím not surprised you gals had a good night. Any plans to get together again? Hopefully not waiting as long this time. LOL

Weez sounds like DD has the sewing bug for sure. That is a good thing to keep her busy. Iím glad you are counting down those last count days. Your retirement will be here soon. Time flys you know.

We will be going to see the new baby next week. I called and asked when would be a good time. Nothing like begging to see her. Frankís latest biopsy on his head was negative. Crises over he goes back for a check up in 3 months. He keeps calling it his blow hole (like a porpoise or whale). Maybe I should call him Flipper.

Tammy sounds like your mind is whirring to make sure you have done everything. Enjoy your few days away. How is Joe feeling?

WG hoping that DS getting the kids is not too stressful for any of you.

SS, what a mess with the WA!! I've done laps in the rain and had the same thing happen when I went home and froze! Glad that you had a good time with your GFs. It's always nice to get together with old friends! Hope that Norm gets the car done soon.

Weezie, I hate when my mind races with all that I have to do and get done. Just keep in mind that in less than 3 weeks we'll be sewing!! I'm working on getting everything together to go. And glad that you enjoyed your sister and BIL's visit.

Tammy, hate feet pain. I'm suffering with a swollen left foot right now. Have no idea why! Some days it doesn't hurt at all and some days I can hardly walk on it. I'm thinking it is arthritis. Hope it is better today.

We were supposed to go to Brooke's softball game tonight but they were predicting tornadoes for the town where she was playing. So now she is playing tomorrow and so is Carmen. But we are taking Brooke as Jason and Stephanie have to be at Carmen's game. Rachel will come after the first game and then she will take Brooke home. WOW!!

Amazing to me that we were so busy again today at the store. Sharynn's DH is going quilt my "bug" quilt but he has been so busy with machines that he still hasn't gotten to it. I'm hoping it is finished by retreat so that I can take it to retreat.

Tomorrow will be very busy as I've got to iron the church laundry, bake cookies, and run some errands.

I'll see y'all later.

Tammy - I hope you get it all figured out and are able to enjoy your time in Branson. I hate when my mind bounces all over the place!

Well, we started water aerobics this morning but it started raining half way through. We were wet so we didn't care until it started pouring rain. Then we decided it isn't good for the CD Player, watches, FB's and phones sitting out. So we got out quickly! I walked home and was thoroughly chilled as it was only 74 out. Took a nice warm shower, dressed, dried my hair and guess what? No more rain and it hasn't rained since!

Hi, Seesters!

Yes, Weezie, please DO share the SD's project! I would love to see it. I really liked the model in the store. I picked up a copy of the pattern.

SS, it sounds as if you had a great time with your friends. I love those times!

I am 2/3 of the way through my teaching day, but I have been thinking ever since I got out of bed at 5:30 - what do I need to go to Branson? what do I need for work? what did I not get done in this class that I need to cover today and then talk quickly enough to get through as much as I can that was scheduled for today? etc - and you can see what I am choosing to do right now. I am also not sure of WiFi over the next four days until we return home, so wanted to pop in here quickly.

I'm back early this morning. It was raining when I got up so I got dressed thinking no WA. Now the rain has moved out and the sun is peeking through. We still have an hour before WA so the weather could change, after all, it's Michigan! BUT, I'm hoping for water aerobics.

Weezie - I remember the days when I had more work to complete than I possibly could in any work day. I asked for help and eventually got the help but it took so long to train that I was falling further behind. Good luck to you! I'm glad you had a nice visit the DS & BIL and you do have the retreat with Pat to look forward to.

WG - I hope DS got the kids without drama as that can't be good for them. As you can see, Norm stopped painting on the car so I could go with my GF's. Now we have a couple days of rain with no painting so I'm not sure when it will ever be done!!

Good morning all,

Well my sister and husband left yesterday. My steps in are in the tank of course so not to get back to my routine. I truly enjoyed their visit and were so easy to have around. Even my DH enjoyed their visit and he's such a recluse.

Today I'm off for doctor appointments but sure am sorry as I have so very much to do at work. I do not want to work this weekend and next weekend is the holiday weekend so we'll be going out of town. Not sure how I'm gonna manage it all so I'm working on a list this morning to plan my attack and address things in some sort of order, or try, as it never works out it seems once there with all the interruptions. I'll get through it and keep focusing on retreat next month which falls before count day. If all goes well, only 4 more count periods to deal with and I'll walk away. I gotta hold onto that dream.

Weezie, sorry about Claire and her hiney hurting. Hope the bug is gone soon!

LG, I'm glad you were there for Carmen and yes, life will go on. At that age it is tough for sure. You're a good g'ma.

Tammy, hope you got some rest and feel your pain where work is concerned. Oh, I should share the photo of my step DD's finished row-by-row you were so kind to get for her. She was, and is, so tickled with it. She hung it in her room. Now, she's asking about borrowing my little embroidery machine to play with to see if she has interest in one of them. For a girl who had never sewn, she has found something to keep her occupied which is good. Now to have her try out the Janome embroidery machine but not sure she'd pop for one that pricey. Time will tell.

WG, hope things are going well in your world.

SS, glad you had a good night out with the girls. We are to go out tomorrow night so I hope I can behave.

PJ, how are things with you and those great grands? And Frank?

Okay, I need to scoot ladies but wanted to check in. I plan to make my steps today so gotta work on it while getting things done in between appointments.

Enjoy your day!

Just got home from my Girl's Night Out. The three of us used to be neighbors when our kids were little. Then we all moved. We have all stayed in touch but we calculated tonight almost 40 yrs since the three of us were all together. Needless to say, it was a real Gab Fest. And, Tammy, you were right. We had a lot of fun and all three of us are dieting (we are women, right?) so I was good and almost too low on calories but I'm not hungry so I'm not going to eat!

Tammy - Sorry you feet are tired. I can't believe it's back to school already.

LG - I hate that you GD was so upset about losing but you gave her the right pep talk. It's good she cares that much.

HI, Seesters!

The new semester began yesterday. My feet were soooooo tired last night and today, and my heel spurs are acting up for some reason, I've been "running" all day, but have sat down more than once to do my foot exercises. I've also had a fairly decent number of steps today. 30 minutes was house walking, the rest was functional fitness - gardening, grocery shopping, house work.

I work again tomorrow then not until Monday. I already have several items on the To Do list that involve work for Th - Sun. New textbooks are pretty labor-intensive. Next semester will be easier. I choose to do this, so try not to complain.

I was all ready to relax Sunday evening, and saw a text from my DIL that she and DS were in the ER. They were pretty sure that DS had a kidney stone, and indeed he did. It had been five years since his first one. This was a small enough one to be passed. I had one when I was 25, before my kids were born, and thankfully have never had another.

LG, good advice that you gave.

WG, how's it going with the family?

SS, I'm thinking you are having a good time. I think I wrote back in early summer about the student who graduated almost 30 years doing some sleuthing and finding me on FB. That let to corresponding with and then meeting a former colleague from those days and will continue to be fun.

We went to Carmen's game last night and they lost. She came out of the gym and walked up to me and hugged me and started crying because she thought she didn't play well and that was why they lost. I just hugged her back and told her that the others played no better than she did. The team they played had already played 4 games and this was their first game. So I told her to shake it off and play harder next game. She seemed OK when we left. I hated to leave her.

We spent today at the shop ordering a lot of merchandise! Lots of new patterns and new Christmas fabric arrived today! And believe it or not we were busy again. The new location has really helped.

I'm going to hit the couch and get ready for work again tomorrow. See y'all later.

Hi all. I'm home for a minute. I've got some things to tackle and am avoiding them. DS will have his kids tonight and for a week. It will be nice for him. He gets very anxious before the start of the exchange and he was a basket case last time as he had to see DIL almost daily. It should be better this time. I'm only working Wednesday and the weekend. He will be home as well most of the days.

LG, I saw the photos on FB of the open house and feel for you. It sounds like a success but your feet have to be tired. Hope the photos turn out well. Family pictures are a fun thing and the memories are so wonderful.

SS, Hope the car is finished before you need it. It sounds like a lot of fun. I also saw the photos of the tornado. I'm glad you and your family were safe.

Weezie2, hope Claire feels better soon. Having a stomach bug is so hard. My DD uses a blow dryer to dry off the skin before putting ointment on. It seems to work better for her son.

I was at a birthday party last night for my nephew that works in my gardens with me.His real birthday is next Sunday but he heads back to Marquette this Saturday so my sister celebrated a week early.

I have Claire today. Poor little girl has a stomach bug. Changing her diaper every hour is rough on her. Trying to keep her hydrated and her little butt covered with butt cream. You know it hurts when she wants to run away from you when it needs changing.

Have a Great Monday!

Good Afternoon!

Sorry I missed posting a day. No excuse, other than I depend on the email notices when someone posts. I guess no one did, therefore, I forgot to come here.

Today is a perfect weather day, almost like fall. It's sunny and mid 70's. I have got lots of walking in. Norm is busy working on painting the car. After all the days of rain, he has today and tomorrow with perfect weather before rain on Wed/Thurs.

Without thinking I made plans to go to dinner with a couple GF's tomorrow evening so I'm hoping the car will be ready to drive! Norm doesn't seem to think it will be a problem. I'm anxious for it to be done so I can post pictures. He's doing a good job, I think!

Well, where is everyone besides Tammy and me??? I stopped by last night but was too tire to post.

We had a great day with the kids and got our family pictures taken at a local park. Hope that they turn out OK. Still trying to catch up after the weekend. Was tired when I got home from SVDP and took a quick nap. Hope that it doesn't effect my sleep tonight.

We are heading to Columbus for Carmen's volleyball game at 5 p.m tonight. So I'll see y'all later.

HI, Seesters!

LG, it did look like a very busy day at the store. Are there classes available there locally with the machines that are sold?

SS, I wish I could luck into some sales like that! I did kind of, though. I received Kohl's percent off coupons when I got the packed to change our address to the P. O.box and then again when I got the official notification. Thank goodness I didn't have to over, though! I had a Kohl's gift card that I was given and being the math person that I am, I determined how much I could spend and not have any out-of-pocket expense. I overestimated the tax and ended up with about 75 cents back - lol - and some new towels. Now I have to decide whether to use the other one or not.

Pj, such a nice FB picture of the great grands.

Weezie, I start with students Monday. I am about to the point that I feel that I will be as prepared as I can be. There's so much new stuff technology-wise, and I always am concerned that I am on top of that for my students' sakes.

WG...it's always interesting to see who is visibly affected with life events, isn't it? Will there be additional life changes your SIL will need to make besides adjusting to widowhood? Did DB host many exchange students?

Weezie2, while Joann's is merging, when I read your post, I thought, oh, no, I hope Joann's isn't in trouble, too. Our little town just lost its Ruby Tuesday restaurant, along with two other locations in SW Missouri. There was just a sign on the door to announce it. It seems other businesses are doing the same.

SS, so glad you were okay - the tornado in the area - and congrats on your loss today!

Does anyone remember the 3-2-1 cake where you combine the angel food and box cake mix? I remembered that a bit back and finally got around to making us each a serving topped with thawed peaches. Much better than a 9x13 cake sitting around.

Just finished dinner and I'm very tired after our Open House today. It was amazing!!! I got to work at 7:20a.m. and there were already 2 people waiting in line to get in at 8a.m.!! We opened the doors at 8 and it was steady until 3:15 when we turned off the OPEN sign! We sold 3 sewing machines (high dollar!!) and a GO! CUTTER. I cut fabric until 1:30 when one of the other gals relieved me so I could eat lunch. Have no idea how many people came in but we had them lining up for check out as we only have the one. Not one person complained or anything. Quilters and sewers are great!!

If you haven't "liked" Sharynn's Quilt Box on FaceBook, do so and look at the pics of the Open House.

I'm bushed and headed to the couch. I'll be back tomorrow after all the kids leave.

I didn't lose this week but didn't gain either!!

Hi Seesters. Watching the Olympics while decluttering. I took a break as I'm starving and shouldn't be. I need to get groceries but will in a bit.

Dog had a big accident again so I've got a rug to clean and had to clean the wood floor. I'm grateful for hard floors with the dog getting old although she has a harder time navigating as they are pretty slick.

Weezie1, glad your sis and BIL are having a good visit. It is good for BIL to have things to do and leave for his family. Memories are magic for sure.

Sis cooking and helping with sewing is a win/win. I'm sure you enjoy the visit and shopping for fabric is a plus as well.

Weezie2, sounds like a wonderful Saturday with some of your favorite girls. You have so much fun with the grands and others. How is the "construction" going nearby? I thought of you when the girl from Wisconsin won the gold in the Tri. She is amazing.

SS, good for you having a loss. I'm sure you feel better as well. I didn't have a loss this week but Monday was down a bit after the weekend away. Doesn't count unless it was today.

I've got a list of things to do today and will try to get them done. I'm planning on trying some quilting again tonight. I like to have some time and be able to leave the machine out for a day or two on the kitchen table when I do it. I have today and Monday before the grands come. I'm hoping to get some sewing in for sure. I've also got to organize my sewing area. It got "piled" by the kids a couple of weeks ago and I haven't fixed it.

I was a little surprised that DS#3 was as troubled by he was by my brother's death. The oldest DS lived in his home for years and went to Africa with DB. They were very close. DD#1 lived in his home for 8 years (caretakers both) and spent a lot of time with them. She seems to be fine. It is DS#3 who is troubled. He is doing fine with his "ex" as he sent her a message that he was grieving and wanted to be left alone. He is now waiting for the other shoe to drop.

She won't be invited to the "service" but will see SIL some time when she is here. They are 3 days apart in age and have "bonded." Sometimes it was a little weird as they did "grooming" behaviors similar to monkeys with touching and playing with hair, etc. But it is SIL's choice.

Have a great day everyone.

My body has been happy with my low carbs this week and I lost 5 lbs! I know a lot of it is water due to Phase 1 but it sure felt good not to worry about reporting another gain. We'll see how I do this week as I settle in to the LC/HF diet.

I took a long walk with Nala this morning as we have a storm front expected this afternoon with a cold front along with it. Temps will drop down in the 70's and we'll stay there a couple days. I feel fall is on the horizon. I'm not sure I'll handle colder temps very well. It's been a long time since we stayed home through the Holidays.

All this rain has slowed Norm down with painting the car. If we can have cooler temps and less rain perhaps he can finish it this week. So far, it's looking good!

The JoAnn Fabrics near me is closing to consolidate with another store. I finally stopped in this week to see if they had anything left. The store was pretty well picked over but I did find some fabrics for baby quilts that was 70% off. I really didn't need any more projects emoticon

I woke up to rain and thunder this morning. Claire should be here in a short while. Kami will join in the fun a little later.

Have a Great Saturday!

Good morning all and Happy Saturday!

Well my sister and husband arrived on Thursday. Needless to say my steps are in the tank. I don't feel comfortable getting up and using the treadmill as it isn't quiet so I'm not going to stress over it and will start anew once they leave. The initial plan was Sunday so I was going to go into work AFTER they left. Well, things have changed and now they are staying til Tuesday. I'm still going to work for a bit and they are fine. They have things to keep themselves busy and places they want to go. So don't feel like I have to entertain. Plus, my sister is cooking for us which I appreciate. I'll buy, she cooks! Her husband has his moments. He's stage 4 of his cancer but all-in-all is doing okay with the traveling. My DH offered him one of his many digital cameras this morning to take and use as he's showing some interest in photography and well, something to keep him occupied is good and heaven knows we won't miss one of the many cameras he has. He cried when we offered it to him but thanked my DH and accepted.

Not much else happening. Week was a blur with the commute three days and working one. This is gonna be another rough couple of weeks but have 'retreat' with Pat to look forward to in September. That's what I'm going to focus on to keep calm and move forward.

PJ, congrats on the newest great grand. They are adoreable but hard to see you and think that you could possibly be a great grandma. You are lovely my dear.

WG, hope the drama with the DIL has settled a bit and you're doing well.

Pat, glad the funeral dinner went off fine and you enjoy the open house today.

Weezie, hope all is well in your world.

Tammy, are you back to work?

Okay, meeting another sister and the 3 of us are headed to Shipsee today. My sister whose here stopped at Zincks on her way up and she liked it so we're gonna go back and take the other sister to share. I'm sure Lolly's is on the agenda as is Yoders. Not like I need another piece of fabric but one never knows what will call out to me. Plan to get some time in my sewing room with my sister as she is going to guide me through finishing up a little jacket I started.

Wishing you all a great day and weekend!

Just got home from dinner out with Norm's brother and his wife. Haven't seen them only once since we got home so we didn't want to say no to the invite,. However, I really didn't want to eat out the night before WI. I can't punish Norm as he is always good with whatever I want to eat. I ordered a grilled chicken breast smothered in swiss cheese and sauteed mushrooms and onions. I got a side salad and ate that but left the roll and the ear of corn. Yes, that was the only vegetable they had! I just hope the chicken and salad doesn't throw me off at the scale in the morning.

Otherwise, it's been a routine day. I spent time on the computer paying bills and it was cool enough I got to take Nala for several walks so my step count is higher today.

Good luck to everyone in our WI tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers this is the challenge where we can finish our challenge with a no gain week. Wouldn't that be nice!

Hello, everyone.....

Well, the funeral dinner went very well. We had plenty of food and it went off without a hitch. I came home and put my feet up!

Nothing new here except that I'm sure that I won't have lost any weight because we had fried chicken at lunch today! I will say that I only at one piece and no skin so maybe it won't be all that bad. We'll see.

Got church ironing to do so I'll see y'all later.

Hi Seesters home from work. Thank you for your kind words at my brother's passing. I'm glad I was able to recognize the signs even though he tried hard to "fake it." He apparently survived the colon cancer and got lymphoma right after his child was conceived. What a sad/happy time for them. Of course, they didn't share either the good news or the bad. Crazy family ties.

SIL is doing OK. She has a lot to take care of and is grateful that she was here when Mom died as she got to see what happens and know what my brother liked and didn't like. (Think cardboard and tin can coffin he picked out for Mom.) She has found that some of his exchange students want to be there as well as some other friends so she will be hosting a big party in September.

PJ, I'm sorry your dad is falling more. I think the idea of his being in the common room is a good idea. Not walking will increase the chances he will "forget" how to walk. Will they be toileting him and walking him regularly? It sounds like a good choice, though. I wonder how much he was falling before?

SS, sounds like a fun day with moving your DGD and dinner with friends. It would be nice if there were fresh veggies at least at these things. Good for you. Sounds like the shorts outfit is quite flattering.

LG, glad you got the cake baked. Working really takes away from the leisure time. Hope Rachel will enjoy her cake.

I'm going to chill and try to get some things done here. I'm off tomorrow and will catch up then. Have a great day.

SS, glad that you didn't have a gain but I understand the "wasted day" thing! I've been there and feel the same way. You'll be fine by Saturday. I'm doing a modified LC and I can tell about the "belly bloat" thing.

WG, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. It is hard no matter what. Glad that SIL is including the family in her plans.

Weezie, enjoy your time with your DS and BIL. Hope that you got thru some of the work you had staring you in face when you went to work this morning.

Got home from work about 12:30 and Thomas and I went to order my new counter tops and sink. I baked Rachel's birthday cake and put it in the freezer. I got a funeral dinner tomorrow and had to get all the food for that today too. Then I'll be working all day on Saturday. Sunday the kids and grands will be here to celebrate Rachel's birthday. We are hoping that we won't have any rain so that we can do family pictures. Going to be a long, busy weekend.

Need to get a few more things done and then hit the bed!!

I finally got a chance to read the posts I missed.

WG - I am sorry for your brother's passing. It was strange that he didn't want to share with the family but you as a nurse suspected what was going on. Still it is a loss and you have my sympathy.

LG - I would be so over rain as well after that many days. We have seen a lot of rain but we may actually make it through today without any! My My, I am surprised at the amount of machines that you sell at work. I've often wondered how many of those expensive machines sell. I feel bad for the struggle you are going through with your meds. I hope this change helps!

Weezie - you are so busy, you probably won't read this until after your sister has come and gone. I am very happy your BIL feels up to the trip. It is probably his last. My friend that lives across the street has her parents staying with them. They were here earlier this summer so I was surprised to see them back so soon. Michele tells me her dad's cancer has returned and they give him 4-6 wks left. So they have moved in here until he passes. I'm not sure what the mother will do after that. These are not old people I would guess early 60's. My heart is heavy for all of them during this sad time.

WG I am sorry to hear about your brother passing. I know it was expected but that doesn't make it any easier. It is still a loss.

SS it is hard to turn down everything when someone invites you over. Hopefully you will recover in the next 2 days.

I had a call about 8pm last night from the VA home. Dad had fallen again. They heard his chair alarm go off he was about 4' away from his chair. Not hurt. They said they will probably start setting him in his wheelchair in one of common areas during the day time hours until bedtime so maybe he won't try and walk to the bathroom (if that was what he was doing it happened after his dinner time which is around 5pm) .

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Good Afternoon Seesters!
Yesterday I was away from my computer most of the day. We helped move our GD back to a dorm for her SR year at Western. We lucked out as we had a nice break in the rain and was able to get everything in her dorm before the rain moved in again! It's about a 90 min dr from our place so of course a lot of my day was sitting in the car so not so many steps. My GD and DD think I'm disabled (from my pain) so they wouldn't let me do very much.

Then on the way home we drove through a horrible storm. It was so black and creepy looking as we were driving into it. Then we hit the torrential downpour complete with wind, thunder & lightening. No one could see to drive so traffic came to a stop for a few minutes. Then we drove right out of it again into sunshine - weird!

We came home briefly to let Nala out and let her play. Then we left to go to one of my GF's house. My GF that moved to FL is up here this week for her family reunion so we got a brief visit with her. It was great but I did worry about what we would have for dinner. Turns out I had good cause to worry. She served Jimmy John subs, pasta salad and home made peach cobbler. Nothing low carb! I ate the insides of my sub, a spoon of pasta salad and unfortunately, a little of the peach cobbler. I just can't learn to say "NO thankyou" The good news is my weight did not go up - it didn't go down overnight either so yesterday was like a wasted day!

This morning was community coffee. I wore a pair of my new black shorts and top. I had a lady ask me if I was losing weight again. I doubt that this week would count, lol, but I will say that my abdomen goes down right away as you lose the belly bloat on low carb. Any way, it made my day!

Hi Seesters. It's been a long day. A long couple of days.

Yesterday my brother passed away "suddenly." He has been declining for the past year or so and has been fighting cancer for the past 5 years. I knew he wasn't winning and I knew he was declining a lot even though he seemed to believe that he would be able to convince me that he was "well."

SIL is doing OK even though she doesn't do well with death. She was at his side. Important for her and for him. Her mother is coming from Russia tomorrow or the next day and will stay a while.

Brother is being cremated and she will come up in a couple of weeks to scatter his ashes over the mountain above his summer home. She will only stay a couple of days and will not bring her son. Still, it is kind of her to include us in the plans.

LG, hope the new BP med works for you. It's hard to change and usually the new meds are more expensive.Congrats on selling another sewing machine.

SS, that's a great bargain. I got a couple of things last time I was in WM but I avoid the place so I'll miss whatever sales they have now. I spend too much money on nothing when I'm there.

PJ, hope the mowing went well. Don't you essentially mow a pasture? I'm glad your dad is doing better and you were able to go through more stuff.

Weezie1, Enjoy your visit. What luck finding a quilt shop so nearby.

Tammy, I hope the drama is done for a while. It's hard when the kids cause pain and problems. Hope you are enjoying your long weekend.

Gotta go and hit the hay in a minute. Who'd have thunk you can get urns and vaults on Amazon?

Have a great day.

Evening.....

Well, been a very long day here......we've had 7 straight days of rain. I'm so over it that I can't see!! Worked again today and will be working tomorrow with Friday off and then working again on Saturday for our Open House. We've been very busy again. Sold another sewing machine today!

I went to the doc today about the meds for the BP. Was taking one that worked very well but it produced some difficult side effects. So she changed them to another one and I go back in a month. So we'll see how I do with these! I'm over all this crap!

Weezie, I don't envy you going back to work. Hope that she isn't on your case! Good job finding the quilt shop!

Tammy, it's always a good thing to take the high road!

PJ, glad that you found your dad doing some better.

Sharon, you really scored at WM!!!

Got to run and get a few things done!

Evening all,

Well I survived by 3-day commute to Lansing and back. I'm glad it is done. Of course I'm a bit wiggy about going back to work tomorrow as I need to try to get 4 days worth of stuff done in one as I'm off Friday. My sister and DH are arriving tomorrow late in the day and I plan to spend Friday with them. My BIL is the one with cancer and they are working fast and furious on their 'bucket' list it seems. One more trip home to visit some of their old memories it seems. I don't anticipate seeing much of them Saturday and they leave on Sunday to start the return trip and many stops along the way. I'm just glad he's up to the trip.

While I was in Lansing I realized yesterday there was a quilt store across from where I was so today I had to make a visit. A lovely store with TONS of stuff. Of course I need nothing but found a couple of patterns I couldn't live without. I'd venture back for sure.

I have about finished one of the t-shirt quilt tops I'm making. I have the rows together and now need to put the sashing between and sew altogether. Then I was to but a border on to get it the size I want. Once I got them to decide on color(s), it went together quite quickly I think. Now to get the next one going. Plan to see these friends next week so I can show them the first (as I plan to have it done) and get her to commit to the backing so I can get it ordered and off to the quilter.

So I've been working hard to clean up before the sister arrives. Mopping, dusting, purging, tidying and all. Only thing, I've not gotten to the store so we'll have to punt on that one. I did get a bunch of hard boiled eggs done but did it in the pressure cooker. Works very nicely indeed.

Do hope all are having a good week and will try to check back when I can.

Enjoy!

Today was mow yard day and I went to fitness class this morning and went through 2 more totes from dad's apartment. Cut off a pair of jeans that fit again but I never liked the wideness of the lower legs so they are now capris just below my knees. I say that because even capris are usually longer on me than I want. LOL

Sharon I think I may go to WM tomorrow and see if I find any bargains.

HI, Seesters!

I've had "real life" texts from both of my 20somethings today. I took the high road on both - one was ultimately a marriage issue, the other was answered with a "hindsight is always better."

I've been to campus and will be to our main campus from 6 - 9 this evening. I'm feeling more ready and surely I will be by Monday.

Hi to all.

PJ - I hope you enjoy your pan as much as I do. I am so pleased with my new clothes! I actually got 3 jeans, 1 Capri & 2 shorts - all for $18. I just finished hanging all but the shorts. Those I put in my shorts drawer. I think I'll wear one of the new shorts tomorrow. We are helping move Lexi back to her dorm for her Senior year. It's supposed to be hot & 95% humidity. Could be miserable.

Did Zumba this morning. Visited dad and he was having a pretty good day and I just got a text that I have a new great granddaughter. (No details yet) So it has been a good day.

I had an invite to eat out last night with 2 ladies I used to work with we went to Outback. I had salmon a double portion of steamed broccoli (since I didnít want the rice) and salad and I only had 2 bites of bread. Brought half my dinner home so will have that tonight with a salad.

Weez2 I worked in my flowers early yesterday morning. They were in need of weeding a long time ago.

WG sounds like DS#2 was stressed to the max and poor dog got the blunt end of it. Glad DS#1 rescued the dog. I am hoping one of these years that our GS will be able to mow our acreage if we take a trip in the summer That would be a nice solution for us and give them some spending money.

LG no company to worry about and now you have a clean house. Doesnít sound like you have much sewing time with working and other planned activities.

Oh Tammy I have done that too sent out a group text to several and realized some should not have seen it.

Sharon I went to JC Penney yesterday and got a shirt on sale. I had found one last week and liked it so well that I went back for one in a different color. May have to check our WM for some more bargains. Summer clearance is just what I need for this winter in the south.

Sharon I used my BB&B 20% off coupon and bought the copper chef fryer/deep pan with lid.

Hello
Nothing much to report for today. Same oh same oh.

Oh wait, I do have to tell you our regular WalMart is being renovated so stock is way down. Norm suggested we go to another WM. We got there as they were putting out racks of clearance clothes all for $3 each. I got 2 new jeans, a skirt and 3 shorts. Norm got jeans and shoes. You can't go to a Thrift store and buy used for the price!

Home today. Garage doors going in. Olympics on. Fabio here. Having fun.

Tammy, sounds like a fun plan. I'm glad you are having company with you.

I'd never understood having a regular place to vacation but my DIL has gone to this same place all of her life. It has such fond memories and they hike to all the geysers and other places every year. As we were driving around, they were making plans for next year. Her family sometimes joins them and everyone goes and sometimes it is just them. Either way, it is fun. But 45 minutes to the grocery store, 5 miles to gasoline, etc. It is very remote. And very private and relaxing. It was nice to sit on the back deck without tennis lights on and nothing but the stars and meteors.

And cell phone coverage.

LG, hope today is good at work.

I'm cleaning still and putting things away. I got an Amazon Pantry box last week so I've got a lot of stuff to put away. It is big and there is a lot of kid food.

Have a fun day.

Hi,Seesters!

Got to share a funny - DS and DIL met us for lunch yesterday then planned to do some shopping at Branson Landing later. We visited about thei fall plans, etc and our plans. To have them come down and stay with us here on the park, with us getting them a rental unit the RV park maintains. I texted them both later, saying how glad we were that they met us for lunch, etc. I was having separate text conversations with them. After a bit, I received two pictures from my DIL of a black lingerie set. I was pretty sure the pictures were intended for a friend, as DIL is a bridesmaid for a friend from high school here shortly. After a few minutes, I got a text telling me she was so sorry, so embarrassed, etc. I had a chuckle, but I told her about a FB post that I did on my phone that evidently shared a venting post I'd had with my sisters about a family matter. Anyway, I had a chuckle when it wasn't me - lol

We leave in the morning; school starts Monday the 22nd, but I have lots to do between now and then. We plan to be back at the RV park most "weekends", which will be three or four nights.

I hope to find that lettuce, turnip, and beet seeds have sprouted.

Good evening.....Seesters!!

WG, glad that you had a good time with the family. It is nice to get away but sorry that you had to come home to a "mess". It is hard on pets when the primary caregiver is not there. Your DS is dealing with a ton of stress and I'm sure that the dog just sent him over the edge. And that in turn sets the dog off. Hope that you can get the rug clean.

Sharon, glad that you are getting back to the "basics". I'm too am tracking and walking as much as I can. I am hoping for a 2 lbs. loss. But we'll see.

Weezie2, glad that you had a good time with Kelly. And it is good that you will get your Kami time. It will be fun for Claire and her new baby sister to have matching outfits.

Tammy, are you back at school yet or do you go back after Labor Day? Hope that the rain hasn't ruined your garden.

It has rained here all day and to be perfectly honest...I'm glad that the company couldn't come. It would have been hard to keep the little girls occupied for 4 hours or more. Didn't do anything except laundry! Did go to SVDP this morning. No food truck to unload so that was good. I did get everything set up to start another baby quilt that is fully embroidered. It is for a gal who works for the museum part time. It is her first baby.

I didn't work today but do tomorrow and Wednesday. Then Thursday I'll be baking for Rachel's birthday on Sunday. Everyone is coming so need to get a few things done early.

See y'all later!

Good morning Seesters. I had a chance to stay home today so I did. I may get called in so I'm not going to get too involved in things.

My poor dog had to stay at another son's house while I was gone. DS who lives here got angry and while he generally says unkind things to the dog is usually not unkind. The dog had an accident and DS threw the rug onto the deck (where it sat for 4 days with diarrhea on it) and the dog outside. DS#1 came and took the dog home.

The dog had a good visit and was happy to be in a nice environment. DIL was also nice to dog but she tends her mother's dog regularly.

SS, glad you are back to the plan that works for you. Not nearly as fun but with the challenges you have, carbs are not working for you. You are usually happy with the LC/HF diet so back to the drawing board. I'm sure you will be back to basics soon.

Weezie2, matching outfits sounds like a lot of fun. I'm glad you had a fun visit. I enjoyed reading my book when the kids were doing things that I didn't participate in. It was great to have time to visit and enjoy your family on vacation. I do agree that there is no place like home for sure.

Tammy, glad you are enjoying the last week or so of vacation. It's been easier for you to go away this summer with the MH parked. I hope it works out for you to leave it there. And wifi is working this time. How is your garden surviving.

I hope you found someone to do the lawn. It is worth it for me right now to have someone do it. Hopefully I'll have a grandson who wants to do it by next year but the boys are still young. I'd just as soon pay them as strangers.

LG, that is sad that your company didn't come. I'm sure you don't feel badly about the girls with nothing to do, but you usually have things to do anyway. They would have been fine. Hope you get back to the sewing room soon. Are you working today?

Gotta get things done. Got a load in the wash. I did one last night. Three more to go. Then clean the rug if it will clean up. I'll take it into the front yard and spray it down and see if I can get some of it clean before I work on it with the carpet cleaner. I feel badly that I let DS#4 borrow the crop circle cleaner. It would be nice this week.

Have a wonderful day everyone. Hugs to those I didn't mention.

Morning!
I'm on my third day of tracking and exercising. It actually feels good to be trying once again! Several of us in the RV Challenge are restarting this week and seeing who can lose the most this week. If anyone wants to join in, just let me know!

I've gotten over 10,000 steps in the last two days and ST with my resistance band. The pain has not increased so I'm continuing today. With the let up of pain, I am feeling much more like fighting again. It's a struggle I will have for life but I have to say, just two days low carb and a lot of my cravings are going away.

Weezie - it's great that you were included in the little get away. Too bad we had so much rain! It's great that you enjoy being home but going away makes you appreciate it even more!

WG - Once again, I'm glad you had a good time with the family! We're glad to have you back posting.

LG - thanks for your kind and wise words. I am not giving up even though I didn't lose any weight over the summer. I have a wedding to look forward to and I would love to enjoy dress shopping! They say the best way to clean house is to have company. Sorry your company bailed on you but at least the house is clean!

I worked last Monday with my nephew in my yard. I was invited to go up North with Kelly last week. It was a nice little get away. Brandon's parents rented a 3 bedroom lodge. It kind of reminded me of the cabins from Dirty Dancing. It was an older established place that Brandon's G'pa had brought him to when he was a child. It rained more than the sun was out. We walked through some through the downtown shops and the "boys" got their fill of fishing. I still think I'm a homebody emoticon There is no place like home to me.

I'll have Kami overnight because we missed out on Friday. I need to pick up my order from Carters today. I had a coupon for free shipping but they wouldn't honor it with the 20% off unless I shipped it to the store. I found a couple of cute matching outfits for Claire and her new baby sister for Christmas. After Carters I'll be heading to the grocery store for some fresh fruit and veggies .

Have a Great Monday!

Hi everyone. Got back a couple of hours ago and the grands are here (the ones who stay) and are being beasts. I left them alone so DS could deal with them but it might not be working well. He reaches his end by the end of the week. The kids go back tomorrow and it's hard on all of them.

The "cabin" was HUGE. Not like condo rentals with a hundred bedrooms but this was someone's home and he sold it to my DIL's sister. It's got home amenities. It was plenty big for everyone who was there including DIL's parents and all the family.

Had a good visit.

Gotta go and finish unpacking. I'm bushed and had to check in before I got some other things done. Some things will keep until tomorrow.

Have a great day.

We have had a very low-key Sunday. My sister, niece and her 3 daughters were supposed to come to visit tomorrow but they called and since it will be raining and the girls can't play outside, they decided not to come. But I cleaned top to bottom my whole house! I dusted the walls, the baseboards, floors and cleaned all the mirrors, etc. So now my house is very clean. And that is a good thing!

Tammy, it is good to hear from you. Glad that the WI-FI was working well this morning.

Sharon, I think you'll be happier doing the LC/HF "diet" than the carb cycling. You did so well with it before. It's like I told Rachel, just don't ever get discouraged even when you slide backwards. She is stalled a bit but the WW moderator told her to just keep at it and not to let the scales be her "ruler". I think that is good advice.

We are still getting some rain and we are due to get more tomorrow. Our backyard looks like a pond! We are just waiting on the ducks to start landing on it!

Hello Ladies!
The rain has finally moved out and it's a pleasant day so far. I have been for 3 walks for Nala already. The first two are pretty normal but Norm groomed her this morning and she was full of energy afterwards so I thought it was best to wear it off outside. Plus it helps me with my step count. Oh, BTW, she is sound asleep now after everything she is tired out now.

It's been a very low key weekend for us. I am slowly working my way back to LC/HF from the Carb Cycling. I don't want to go cold turkey and get the LC "flu". I just am not responsible enough to eat carbs. I go on binges. LC is about the only way to stop my binges!

Tammy - nice to hear from you! I'm about to do our Weekly Summary for the challenge so I'll go check and see if you reported in for this week. I feel like you do. I am healthier than I was but I also have gained back some of my weight. I am scared as I promised myself I would never go over 200 again! I better get it under control or I will be there. Norm and I go up to the bridge and Soo Locks every fall. We called and reserved our spots the other day for the middle of Sept. Looking forward to getting away. I haven't heard much on the wedding plans but can only assume they are progressing. We are going to help move Lexi back to her dorm on Wednesday so we'll have a day to catch up on all the news.

LG - I have let myself slide some but I will never quit. I used to try losing for vanity reasons but now I have my health to consider. Some how I will conquer this weight issue!!!

Hi, Seesters!

Campground WiFi is good this morning and so I am taking advantage of it on what I discovered is my 6th Sparkversary! I'm healthier than six years ago, and I'm going to choose to be happy about that while I decide what I need to do to get some of this weight back off.

Weezie, a former student of mine is able to be a stay-at-home mom now because of her LuLaRoe business. I, too, want to try on the clothes before I buy, but I haven't managed to get to one of her in-home shows. Some of the stuff is just darling, IMO.

PJ, how is TT doing? How long will it be until she is healed up enough to be fitted? My youngest SD had a hard time with hers, but I think that's the exception.

WG, are you back yet? Was a good time had by all?

SS, when are you taking a small trip? How are the wedding plans coming along?

Weezie2, any more yard work done with the nephew? We are going to have to address just regular lawn work when we go home for a week or two on Tuesday. I dread it. It seems all of our rain is really doing something that aggravates Joe's allergies. He rides the mower, but that still aggravates.

Hello to all. We are meeting DS and DIL for lunch.

Good afternoon.....

We went to Luke's soccer game this morning and it didn't rain until we all got back to Jason's after going to the farmer's market. Didn't buy anything except tomatoes. I really like our farmer's market better as we don't have people selling tons of baked goodies! There is one lady but I can avoid her booth!

Weezie, hope that you get to your sewing machine. I won't see mine now until next Thursday. Are those the clothes that we saw in Shipshe??? I love the Control Z "thingy"! Learned about it when I lost a post while I was in the BLC and one of the gals told me about it. Use it all the time!

Sharon, sorry about your gain. It's so very hard. Just don't lose heart and quit. That is something we can never do.

PJ, I too am glad that your dad is in the VA and being taken good care of. With all that you hear about the VA, it's nice to hear something good. We have a friend though that applied to get hearing aids about a year ago and is still waiting for a call back. He calls periodically but no response. He's very frustrated. I told him to call his senator.

WG, Tammy, TB, Weezie2, and everyone else.....have a great day!

Good Morning!

It's actually still very dark and raining outside so it doesn't feel like morning!

Weezie - Thurs night we got storms and lots of rain. Last night it was mostly just rain with an occasional thunder & lightening. This morning is just rain. We really needed the rain but I'm over it now. The retention pond behind us is the fullest I've ever seen it! As you may have noticed, I had another weight gain this week. As much as I enjoy the Carb Cycling, it isn't working for me! It's me, not the diet. Once I was allowed carbs, I can't control myself. I guess I need to go back to low carb. Thanks for the computer tip! I hope I can remember to try it next time my post disappears!

PJ - I'm glad at this difficult situation with your dad that at least you feel they are taking good care of him. It sounds like it was perfect timing to get him moved into the VA. He sure wouldn't be able to live on his own. At least you have peace of mind knowing someone is watching him. Enjoy painting today. Norm abandoned painting the car with all the rain. He's waiting for things to dry out somewhat.

LG - good job at WI. I am quickly losing control with my weight and it scares me! I do not want to gain my weight back. I have decided as I said to go back to LC as it seems to work the best for me! Then again, I haven't been tracking my food and perhaps that would be a good place to start.

Good morning all,

Well after last weekend and grands he entire time in one way shape or form, this weekend will be quieter. Just Ava and will take her to get school supplies today and a few things as I prepare for my sister and BIL to visit later this week. Will be a brief visit so not killing myself especially since I'm commuting to Lansing Mon-Wed this week.

Okay, I have to share. I had a the paragraph above typed and went to move on and it disappeared. I didn't think I'd done anything to lose it but it was gone. Glad I said something as DH was walking by and he goes, hit CTRL-Z. One word popped in, do it again he said and after 3x it was all back. I'm glad he's a computer guy. LOL

I was tickled when I got on the scale this morning. I actually lost a lb. I'll take it! And after an outing last night, I feel like I am gonna have a good week and focus hard for the last week of this challenge. I went to a LULAROE gathering. 10 consultants in a gym of an old building with no A/C. It was too hot to be trying things on but that's why I went. To figure out sizes and what I might, or might not, like. The fabric is wonderful as are some of the styles. So I went, with a co-worker, sweat like I've never sweat before. Between the 90 degrees and humidity, water was dripping off my nose. They have one style I really like but with my belly, I couldn't go there. I'd like to rid myself of that again and see if I could actually wear one of these dresses one day. So I have a mission of sorts. I did find a cute dress that is loose fitting and comfy and a long t-shirt I'm sold on. Now I can go to their Sunday Facebook sales and buy knowing what size(s) work!

Other thing we're contemplating is having our kitchen cupboards refaced and change an area which would require a building of a cabinet. My kitchen is small, storage is poor and this house is in need of updates. So we'll see if this comes to fruition. LG, counter tops are tough and I may end up going with nothing cool but recovering my old. We shall see. Kitchen renos are expensive and we're not rich by any means. Darn it!!

Okay, now to get my but moving. Laundry while I walk and hope to work on t-shirt quilt today. I have one row together. A couple of hours and I could have this thing together. Then think about starting the prep for the next. Good destresser for me.

PJ, good to hear they are taking good care of your dad. So very hard on so many levels. Glad Frank's skin cancer is under control and being taken care of.

SS, keep pushing, you'll get there like the rest of us. One day at a time. Did you get thunderstorms in the night?

WG, hope things are well in your world.

Hello to you all and hope life is treating you well. Enjoy your weekend!!!

Got out early this morning to buy groceries didn't need much but spent $150 how does that happen? We are almost out of venison in the freezer so I did buy meat.

I will be going with DH this afternoon to have more of his melanoma cut from the back of his head. It is to be done as a precaution. So shouldn't by any unexpected problems.

Went to see dad yesterday and was shocked but glad they now have him wearing a helmet. Put rubber thickly padded mats along each side of his bed. Rearranged the furniture and put up a bed rail on the wall also put a new mattress on his bed that has short bumper pads on both sides. So very pleased that they are doing all that is possible. I put up to signs on his closet doors that he can see very easily that say "Don't get up without help". Had his plan of care meeting yesterday got a printout of all the meds he is on which has increased since he moved in. Also asked if in their collective opinions whether he has declined due to the weakness or Alzeihemers rapidly progressing now. They said was a combination many times when they have a bad illness it causes the Alzeihemers to progress more rapidly. They also asked if I knew of any foods that he really liked so he would eat more. It seems he is really doing well with drinking anything they give him and eating sweet stuff. I felt like it was a good meeting and that they are doing all they can for dad.

LG I remember when we replaced our counter tops. BIL worked for a place that gave us a good price. We went with Corian and I do love it. Even though now everyone goes with granite.

I tried the carbquik pancakes this morning and read the recipe wrong they all went into the trash will have to try that again.

Tomorrow I will start painting at the kids house I am looking forward to that and I know they are also.

Sharon I hear you about the will power it seems if I slip once its hard to stop. Better off not slipping but I too let it happen.

We had rain overnight and to be that way all day today. A bit cooler but still very humid.

TGIF Day!

Well, like several others, I'm not actually looking forward to WI tomorrow. I will work hard today and hope to redeem myself.

Yesterday was our Ice Cream Social and I went and yes, even had some ice cream! I just don't know where my willpower is. It seems to have got up and left me!

We had a lot of storms moved through last night. Lots of thunder and lightening. I was surprised Nala handled it so well. However, it disrupted her sleep as she's been napping all morning. We really did need the rain though so not complaining.

Last night I tried to write a post but SP wouldn't post it. I finally gave up. So I decided to try to post this morning. So far so good as I posted to another team thread.

I'm sure that my WI tomorrow won't be good. The doctor had to change my BP meds because I was having a reaction to the other one that she had me on. Now I'm not sleeping well and the BP isn't going down like I'm sure that she wants. I am about over it all!!

Worked on the baby quilt yesterday and got very sleepy so I quit but today I plan to get it done along with cleaning up part of my house.

My sister and her daughter along with 3 of her grandkids are coming here Monday. So I need to make it at least presentable!

We are trying to decide on new counter tops for the kitchen. Went to a place last week and got the estimate yesterday. It was for just the counter tops and installation. They would not remove the old tops or the sink or do the plumbing. So we went to another place yesterday and now I have a gal coming today to measure again. Still not sure what I want. I've looked at high end down to very low end. Don't want either of those. Also need to get a new sink. Some times it's just not worth the effort it takes!

PJ - Sorry for the confusion. I had to go back to the original recipe to check. It's 2 cups almond flour and 3 Tbsp melted butter and sweetener.

Tried to post yesterday but SP wasn't being cooperative and I put up with it just as long as I could and then got off!

WG, glad that you are going away for a while. I think it is always fun to just get away for a bit. Sometimes a long vacation is hard!

PJ, glad that you are going to meet with the nurses that take care of your dad. It's just a good idea to stay on top of what is going on. The story about not restraining him is similar to one about Thomas' mom who was dying of cancer and kept getting up and we asked them to restrain her. We were told it is against the law! Almost fainted. Just stupid if you ask me.

We were very busy this morning at the store but this afternoon we worked to get store samples put on display. We still have lots to do but I'm not working until Tuesday again so I'm sure that they'll get it.

Doctor changed my BP meds yet again as my BP just didn't get into the lower range she wanted it. Was very tired today at work and I was instructed that it would make me drowsy and it does. But I'll give it a while to see how I do with it.

It is about 5 weeks until Weezie and I get together for another quilt retreat. I'm getting excited and thinking about what I'll work on. I know that I want to finish the umbrella quilt and also work on an embroidered baby quilt.

emoticon to TB & Bob!!!

Hope that everyone is doing great.

Good Evening!

Norm's latest project is he is repainting our car! The sun is so hot beating down on it in AZ, that the paint has all blistered. He's done the bottom but now has decided that he may change the color on the upper half. I say "Do what you want!" It's an old car and I'm sure it will look better than it does now. That man just can't sit still!

PJ - I did similar with recipes last fall. I made copies of all the recipes I use at home on 4x6 index cards. Then bought a recipe box and keep it in the MH. Now I have all my recipes that I love with me. Was it you that asked about the crust I make with almond flour? I forgot to post it.
For the crust and topping:
6 serving Bob's Red Mill Almond Flour - per 1/4 Cup
3 tbsp melted Butter - Great Value Salted Sweet Cream
3 tbsp Spartan No Calorie Sweetener
Blend melted butter into almond flour and sweetener. Press into pan and reserve some to sprinkle on top.

WG - looking forward to hearing about your little get away. I think PJ is right. This is the first I remember you getting away. Have fun!

It has been so hot & humid today that I finished reading my book. I did just get back from a walk with Nala. 7pm and it's still 85 degrees!

We went to the exhibit yesterday we enjoyed it but I believe I more than DH. We didn't eat out my choice just came home and ate a healthy meal here.

I went to fitness class yesterday and today. Since it is so hot here my inside project (or the start of it) I am handwriting lo carb recipes on 4x6 cards to put in an album. That way I can take them when we travel. Some are on FB some are on Pinterest and we don't always have access to wifi. A good busy project for me and it will give me practice with handwriting as mine has gotten worse with age. Never did have pretty handwriting anyway.

I called the VA this morning and left message that I would like a list of all dads meds, strengths and how often he is getting. I will attend his plan of care meeting tomorrow so will see if I get it. Just want a copy for my records trying to keep up with what they are giving him since they have addes some. I am POA so I wouldnít think it would be a legal problem. And will also ask if there is anything else we can do about dadís falling. But I donít think there is. And I know he isnít the only one that has those issues.

Tammy I didnít realize MSQC could do that. I wouldnít mind doing a quilt top if I could get the rest done by someone else. But I also have plenty to do otherwise too

WG I am so glad you are getting away for a short time. I think this is the first time I have heard you talk of taking a trip away. Good for you.

Hot and humid here and again tomorrow too

DS sent me text that TT (wife) had the rest of her upper teeth pulled today so I guess the next step is getting the denture. She is excited as meds have ruined her upper teeth and she looks forward to having a new smile

PJ, MSQC bound it as well.

WG, I already have two others pieced from charm packs that I bought. The patchwork thing is simple for me to do right now. I will need to decide just how I want them quilted. Enjoy your time away.

Tammy, love the quilt. It has lovely colors and it is very cute. And the quilting is nice so you got a good deal.

You going to do another?

Going with my DS#2 and his family to Island Park tomorrow. It's outside Yellowstone. They go every year but I haven't been in a very long time. It just never worked out although my children have been several times since. DIL has a "family" cabin her sister owns and the family takes turns going. I'll return Sunday so it will be a challenge to "Spark" but I think I have it covered.

Grands were here last night but Mom gets to watch them if Dad is at work. It will be interesting how it works out.

Have a great day.

Tammy question on the quilt. Did you just piece the top and have them do the quilting. Did you then get it back and do the binding yourself.

PJ, I hope you are having fun on your "date" today. Prayers for dad and all.

Littles and divorce and clothes - grrrrrrrr -

Olympic swimming is on at my house, and DH is watching it rather than his usually afternoon nap. LOL

LG, are you all better? I had a fitbit glitch that I haven't taken the time to "fix", whatever it takes to do the fix.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Couch to Quilt baby quilt from MSQC:

I was pleased. The invoice had a note, as all the MSQC orders do, that said "Tammy, your quilt is adorable!" Now who isn't going to like that? LOL

I am better prepared for the semester, and can probably finish the rest in a timely manner now. I was rushing my short bursts of effort because I think we are going back to Branson for a few days and I didn't want to worry about it while gone.

Hello to all my Seesters.

Hi everyone. The grands are finally here. There was a lot of drama and "innocent" declarations.. Then accusations at the other person (DS) but in the end she caved and brought the kids to a meeting place, the equal distance between them, also DS#1's bank. Still a lot of drama. It will be a long time before it fixes.

SS, hope the pain gets better and you can keep your step goal. Perhaps splitting your steps a bit more?

PJ, glad your father is back. My stepfather had a bed that was on the floor. At least he didn't fall far. It was harder to get him up but he was safer.

The painting sounds fun. I do like gray and how versatile it is. I've done my main floor gray.

LG, glad your foot is feeling some better. I'm glad you listen to your body. Hopefully it will continue to get better.

Weezie1, enjoy the break from work. Sounds like the weekend was fun even though it is exhausting. The time you can play with the littles is so short that it is important to take every opportunity.

Weezie2, Tammy, TB, Becky, hope you are well. Have a nice day. Going to be grandma.

Hello all,

Looks like many of us are having some issues. Prayers abound.

I ended up at the eye doctor today and he gave me a steroid shot in my sty which in turn popped it so we'll see if it can now heal. I have an appt later in the month so hopefully this is on the mend as well. Now if this poison ivy itch would subside, I'd feel so much better. The shot and meds helped but now that they are done, I itch. Ack!!!

Had a crazy busy weekend. Ava all weekend, the boys 12 hours on Saturday and then Sunday, had all the girls. My DH had to say how sorry he felt for my dad with 5 girls. They are so loud. Definitely need a break from 'group' visits. LOL

Work is busy and next week I commute to Lansing for 3 days. Good and bad of course as things will need to be done that won't be at work but I need to go to this conference for my job. I'll survive - I hope!

Now I need to get some dinner around. Do hope you all get some good rest and feel better tomorrow.

Dad is getting moved back to the home this afternoon. I did ask about bedrails at the home they said no that is a restraint and not permitted. So I guess we just put up with continued falls when he thinks he doesn't need help or when the help doesn't get there quick enough and pray he doesn't break any bones. So frustrating. He is so very weak and not eating much. But still doesnt remember that he can't walk to bathroom or get out of bed by himself especially at night.

Frank and I are attending this exhibit tomorrow and dinner out I hope. I'm really looking forward to our "date". It doesn't happen very often. Plans are for the painting at DS house to start again on Saturday and hopefully it will only take a few days providing he has the bedroom wall ready. I am finishing the last wall in living room and a very small hallway also. Everything is being painted the same neutral medium gray color. The boys will have their camo curtain then they can add color with the wall posters they have. I look forward to painting for them and how nice it will look. After that project is done they can get the few furniture pieces they have here (that were dads) and take them home.

I'm with you Sharon....bad stuff has to stop! My foot is better but my steps have suffered. I didn't get much over 10K yesterday. But some better today. But I'm not pushing it.

Went to lunch with a couple of friends and I behaved myself. Waiting for the dryer to finish and then I'm heading upstairs to put the binding on the baby quilt. Will try to get it mailed out yet this week.

Have not been watching the Olympics. Rather read a good book!

OK - time for all the bad stuff to stop! I didn't do much yesterday but I'm up and walking again today. If my pain persists, I may have to reassess my step goal.

PJ - prayers for your dad and you! It is so hard on you to see him go downhill and not be able to help.

LG - I hope your "pop" wasn't anything serious and you feel better as the day passes.

WG - we have been enjoying the Olympics as well. I didn't make it long enough to see Phelps though but I'm glad he won his 19th Gold Metal! I was in bed sleeping.

Hi everyone. Watching swimming on the Olympics. It has been fun. My oldest DS swims and is following Michael.

PJ, sorry your father fell again. How hard for you. Hope you sleep and news is better this morning.

LG, hope your foot feels better tomorrow.

SS, glad you are feeling better.

Enjoy your day everyone

OH, PJ, so sorry you are dealing with these issues. Definitely put you both on my prayer list.

SS, glad that you are feeling better. Nothing worse than the trots! Been there, done that! Not fun.

WG, so sorry that your DS is dealing with all that crap. Why can't people just "let go"? Glad that you got the new porch light up.

Weezie2, glad that you have had a great weekend.

Weezie, hope that this isn't the new super! Hope that it is your old boss that caused you to go over the edge as they say!

We had a quiet day here today and I baked brownies to take to SVDP tomorrow and some cookies for Thomas to take up to Jason's tomorrow. He is "house sitting" while they install new windows.

I haven't even gotten 10K steps yet today....went to the gym this morning and while on the treadmill I felt something in my foot "pop". Been sorer than it was. When I fell a week or so ago I hit it hard on the shower and it's been tender. So I'm giving it a rest. We'll see about tomorrow.

JUst a quick stop by. I found dad so weaker again yesterday and then last night late he went back into the hospital after yet another fall this time face first. Cut on his forehead as well as a bad one across his nose Not doing well today at all. But his old primary physician was the one that admitted him. And I talked to that doctor last night. Dad only left that doctor because he went into the VA home and they have their own doctor as residents primary. The doctor that was on call today was terrific. He asked us/me lots of questions and was genuinely concerned about dads condition. He also mentioned that the scan of his head showed a brain aneurysm outside of his brain. Likely from the fall. Just what he needed on top of all the issues he is dealing with right now.

I'm running on not much sleep. Just put us again in your prayers again.

Good Morning!
I feel much better today but I'm not going to push it. I think it will be a Sunday rest day.

I did enjoy the reunion and saw several people that I don't get to see very often. I wish I would have felt better but oh well.

Weezie - was this the new Supt we were hoping would make your work life easier? Oh no! Sorry about the situation but glad you could speak up and represent the rest. Hopefully, if she's new she will take your words to heart. Keep on that sty! It sounds very uncomfortable. And I'm sorry you guys are dealing with poison ivy in your yard. I would burn it for sure!

WG - my DD had the same problem with clothes with her stepson. He would be del'd with crappy clothes, they would buy him something to wear because he embarrassed them. He would wear it home never to be seen again. They finally wised up and only let him wear the new clothes with them. They made him change into the outfit he arrived in to go home. What silly games they had to play! I'm glad you got the new porch light up! Check that off your list.

LG - make sure Thomas knows how to work that Smart TV! We have one and it's so complicated for me. Norm has it pretty much figured out but it still does so much more than we even use it for. Congrats on the new baby in the family! Is this her first baby?

Weezie2 - sounds like a perfect day with the kids. It's days like that you will remember forever. Nothing special, just enjoying them!

PJ - how did you find your dad when you went to visit him? I really like the rocking chairs! The red is beautiful up against the color of your house. Perfect - good job, Frank!

Hi. SS, hope you feel better soon. Both parts of you.

Weezie2, sounds like a wonderful Saturday. I'm glad you get to spend a lot of time with the grands.

Weezie, would love to have your nerve. Hate telling people off.

LG, glad you got the quilt done (mostly) and have good ideas for the next one. Sounds like a lot of fun. Embroidery is a fun thing. I love the things others do.

DS went school shopping today so when his kids finally get to come he will be ready. He needs to live and get things together. He needed a whole wardrobe as she doesn't send any clothes that are worth wearing and she is so nasty about anything it isn't worth it.

Got some cleaning done and my new porch light put up. Glad to have one more thing done.

Not a good day for me. The pain has been bad enough today that I didn't even try to get my steps in. Plus, I ate something at our family reunion that gave me bad stomach cramps and the back door trots! I'll be back tomorrow.

Jason called early this morning and wanted to come down and get a piece of furniture that he'd asked for and to get our new TV set up. We still need to wait for Direct TV to hook it all up but it is up and running on the old system for now. It is one of those "smart TVs". Thomas is loving it as he can hook my laptop up and watch old John Wayne movies on it! As long as he is happy!

Kids stayed and went to Mass then left and headed home. WHEE!!!

Luke starts soccer next week and Carmen starts volleyball in 2 weeks and Brooke starts Fall Softball in September. I'm already tired!

Found out today that my niece had her baby last night and it was a boy. So I'm so glad that I got the fabric that I did. Now to finish it. Just need to tie it a few more times and bind it and ship it off. Then I plan to start a new one that is all embroidered. A gal that works for us part-time at the museum is due in September. But it'll be October probably before I get it done.
Weezie, I do plan to bring my "big" sewing machine to the retreat and get some of the blocks done there. Maybe I'll have it done before then. Who knows???!!!

I'm having a busy day with my girls. We've already played in the pool, had some lunch and Claire's down for her nap. I'm sure we'll be back outside when she wakes up unless it starts raining.

Morning all,

Well trying to get things done before the boys show up around noon for the p.m. I'm sure we'll be spending the afternoon in the pool. I'll take them home later in the evening so they are home to sleep. Parents don't plan to be out late.

This sty in my eye continues and I will see the doc Monday p.m. if no change. It isn't like the last one with a pimple but more like a bubble on my lower eye that is red. Doesn't really hurt but ugly and of course seems like it is it bigger seeing it in my vision. Weird.

DH worked on the poison ivy this past week and although he scrubbed his arms after, it appears he has a small patch surfacing. I just pray mine doesn't get worse. May need to torch the front and start anew.

Had a meltdown with the boss this week and actually told her she was knit picking us to death. She took it well and we talked so it was good and needed. She needs to not make things more stressful by her stupid ways. One breath we're don't not to do something and the next to do it so we have no idea what direction to go in. My co-workers are glad I can, and will be, blunt with her.

So now I need to get my steps done before the boys arrive and do more laundry. House is in need of cleaning but it'll wait.

Do wish you all a great weekend.

Hi Seesters. Home from work and the house is eerily quiet. No children here. DIL is withholding them. She "didn't understand the agreement" although he has reminded her several times in the past two weeks that he would be there. They discussed the correct day, etc. She is jerking his chain.

Court time again

PJ, Megace seems to be pretty questionable as far as I can see. It causes some increase in appetite or eating. Most weight gained is fat. Studies with placebos showed similar results so it is possible that increased attention to feeding helped more.

The drug is actually one used for Breast cancer.

The higher the dose, the better the results but the side effects are also worse. Blood clots and other things are happening.

Have they talked about a "G" tube that goes right into the stomach or something else to feed him when he isn't eating? Feedings seem to help a bit and are less traumatic. He could be given feedings at night or even some after every meal. Not hard to do. The tube is sometimes irritating.

Tammy, I'm all for a regular mail box. Pick up your mail a couple of times a week. You might love it. They aren't all that expensive. My mom had one forever and she would get her mail 2-3 times a week and it was plenty.

Got to go. Lots to do. Have a great day.

WG, I know ladies who use only Singer Featherwieght machines to quilt with. They are very awesome 1950's machines. I considered buying one but decided against it as I could buy a new Janome 4120 for a couple hundred dollars more. But they love them and swear by them.

PJ, I have no knowledge of that drug. emoticon for your dad. The rockers are beautiful. Love the color!

I did get the RxR rows and I plan to make a small wall hanging. Hope everyone is ready for the weekend!

Rainy day here. Did start and finish the grandson curtain. The fleece was so easy to sew it went quickly. Only thing left is to finish hemming but need to hang on window first for measurement.

VA called yesterday dad had a bad day of severe diarrhea again and not eating they are putting him on Megace to try and stimulate his appetite. WG or any one else have any knowledge of this drug. I will go and see him again tomorrow.

Tammy hope the PO box works out for you. Do they just put it in the PO box (at your normal post office) instead of delivering it to your house for that 6 months. Sounds like you are getting things ready for school I also think you should get someone to do your lawn that sounds like a win all the way around then you and Joe donítí have to worry about it.

LG did you find the RxR that you were looking for?

WG Hope you are having a better work day than you thought you would.

Sharon did you not do a LC pie a while back? How about that for your dish tomorrow. And BTW what did you use as your crust?

This is a picture of the new red porch rockers Frank painted for me. They look really nice with the new gray house color.

After Norm is finished with working, we are driving over to visit our friends. His bladder infection continues to get worse. He made a second trip to emergence this week. This time the hospital kept him overnight. He's home now and bored to tears so we are going over to chat with them.

Still haven't decided what I am bringing as my dish to pass for our reunion tomorrow. I'm not sure anything hot would be good - any suggestions?

Hi Seesters. I'm home from work. Grands haven't made it yet. Hopefully tomorrow. She is playing a lot of games. Hopefully he will use it to his advantage when she "keeps the children from their father."

Since he works and she doesn't, he really should get to decide the date of the visitation rather than her. Hers would be random to bug him. His job requires him to come in each week. He can't work from home one week and not the next. He is lucky he can work from home at all.

Oh, well. They will have to work it out.

LG, it has to be exciting to be totally moved. Pink and green sound like fun. Something for you? The embroidery machine sounds wonderful. Janome makes a nice machine.

SS, I'm glad Norm listened to his body and stayed home. It isn't cool to stress a heart with heat. If he isn't up to it, he is doing well to listen.

Tammy, that sounds like a nice way to plan the semester. I hope things come together soon for you.

There are a lot of people who quilt with very small and old machines and do a lovely job. I haven't seen the price of the machine I saw. They are all quite a bit. I have an old Bernina and that was the machine that we thought was the best when I was growing up. I recently had it cleaned and it was still in perfect condition and it's very old. I'm loving it still. I got a newer machine because I was jealous of my sister's machine and I wanted one that did other things.

My newer machine sews buttons on amazingly. Buttonholes are fantastic. But it doesn't do anything my old machine does except write letters and so fancy stitches.

I have looked at embroidery machines. Don't need a fancy one. I don't know that I want to own another machine.

And I can quilt on either of the machines. The newer one has a "walking foot" but you can also get those for almost any machine.

I've got to get to bed. A hospital full of crazies and demanding people today. It has been a long day and tomorrow won't be better.

Have a nice day.

Thomas and I decided to take a road trip today and we went to a couple of quilt shops!! I was looking for a couple of Row-By-Row quilt rows as I plan to make a wall hanging using them. They are so neat.

SS, it was hot today and I still don't have all of my steps in. I need to get busy. I sometimes go to Wal-Mart but the problem there is that I always find too much to buy.

Tammy, I know that the Janome machine I'm looking at is very pricey but it is on sale so I'll have to see if I can swing it. I don't know about any other machines. I just know that I would not buy any other than a Janome. Stephanie is still using one I bought in 1994. Never had a problem with any of the ones I own.

We are going to Indy tomorrow to pick up a few things. We will probably stop at the outlet mall near Columbus too.

Oh, for the new thing I'm doing this week.....it is Pilates! I did it this morning and loved it. Will be doing it again.

We went to Community Coffee this morning and the ladies teased me because I NEVER eat any of the homemade goodies. There is no way I could eat that stuff now! Oh well, it's to my advantage not to eat.

I came home and made a healthy taco salad for our lunch. Norm didn't work this morning because of coffee and the heat! He usually gets in a couple hours before coffee but just didn't have it in him this morning. He gets so dirty and sweaty which doesn't help.

Anyway, now he's puttering out in the garage so I'm going to go to Big Lots. I can get some steps in out of the heat. We need doggy poop bags. I was going to buy them yesterday at Pet Supply when I bought her a new leash but darn, I can get twice as many for half the money at Big Lots! I just couldn't do it.

Tammy - I think you can find somebody to do the lawn for you. We have teenage boys in our park that knock on our doors to mow for $10. The park charges $15 so they get quite a few jobs. Norm is too fussy and prefers to do his own but it's nice to know the boys are around when we need them. That is good news on your DD. Take the positives and run with it. I like the idea of spending part of the week this fall at TL. I would love to be able to do that. I'll keep your DD and Joe in my prayers. Joe does seem to take care of his health or is that you pushing him? Whatever, for his age, he is doing well.

LG - in our case it's Norm that keeps the busiest. I spend way too much time on the computer but I don't see it changing any time soon, lol. Did I mention our park is bringing in an art class? For $25 they provide the supplies and walk you through an oil painting. Norm has always wanted to do that so he signed right up. No sense of me doing it as everyone paints the same picture and we don't need two of them!

WG - you always say such nice things about our social life, thanks! Yes, we are missed here when we're gone but only three months this coming winter so several people have told us that they are glad we have to stay until after Christmas! I'm glad you enjoyed your day with Fabio. It's easier to go shopping and playing with just one.

Hi, Seesters!

I came over to the campus and worked for about 90 minutes - I am killing time now so as to get to the post office mail box we arranged by the time the sign says the mail will be ready. Joe wanted to have a p.o. box for the next six months rather than having the post office hold our mail when we are out of town. He wants to go down to the RV on Wednesday afternoon when I am done teaching and stay until Sunday afternoon some weeks this fall. I think the p.o. box is more bother, but we shall see. I haven't indicated that thought to him yet.

As for getting ready for the semester, I work for a bit - this time 90 minutes - then come back to it later. It seems to arrange itself in my mind better that way. A lot of it is getting used to a change in technology and includes a course that I have taught in the past as well as new course. I have to review notes from workshops that I went to weeks ago.

Anyway, I will "kill" this time, go to the post office, go home and make lunch, and perhaps come back. Luckily I live close.

TB, how are you?

LG, I thought that I would purchase the latest Macomber book at our WalMart rather than going to Barnes & Noble, but our WalMart didn't have it yet. Grrrr....

I wanted to share that the results of DD's most recent pap were "negative" - she texted me that just as she was going in to work yesterday, so I don't know anything other than that, but I guess that is the most important thing regardless. I was so going to hate that she had another issue to deal with. It seems quite the challenge to get all the meds "just right" for her bipolar with depression. Thanks for your thoughts/prayers.

PJ, how is your dad today?

WG, still in the process of getting the children's rooms ready?

LG and WG, what type of price tag do those machines have? The Berninas in the store that I went to last week seemed pretty pricey when considering my budget; I've looked up Babylock and Janome online but don't see prices. My LQS has machines as well, but I don't recall what they are.

SS, yes I do have some mental fears where Joe is concerned, primarily for him, though. He has been extraordinarily healthy - even his diabetes that was diagnosed right after we were married 21 years ago hasn't been a huge issue. We will deal with whatever comes, of course. He didn't have much energy yesterday - it could have been the heat, anyway - but we were both out doing lawn work before 6:30 this morning and survived it. LOL I very may well sound out DS's thoughts about whether he could handle coming and doing the lawn work sometimes if we do our Branson thing next summer as we have this summer. If DS can't manage it, then I will see what friends' teenagers are doing, or contact a lawn service, I guess. It's not that I couldn't do it all, it's just that it would be a trip back and he would think he had to help. LOL

Hello to all my Seesters...have a good day.
