Hi, Seesters!

Joe's appointment went well. As I see friends on my FB feed who are dealing with huge health issues, I feel very thankful in spite of my continued aggravation with foot issues.

I sent a couple of paragraphs on private FB message back to the cousins yesterday; it was just under a week since I had received theirs. He had used his wife's facebook account to contact me and I used the same to reply. I know that one of them saw it yesterday as the little icon that shows when someone sees a message had appeared within an hour after I had sent it.

It is back to work today and then the usual 4-day weekend. The local school district from which we have dual credit students has cancelled classes today after a threat for the freshmen not to come to school today surfaced yesterday. Sad times we live in.

Have a very good day.

Hi Seesters. The electrician is working in the basement. It is nice to have things going a bit. I really need to get to the store and select my carpet and paint and my doors for a closet. I'm doing a barn door closet down a long hall. That way I can have open shelves and put almost anything in them. I won't be restricted by the size of the cupboards. Don't know that I'm putting a lot back inside as I don't want the kids to have to sort through things again like I did with my mom. Still, it would be nice to have some things in place. DS will want to have storage also.

LG, that bear story is quite harrowing. I surely would not want to stay another night either. I've seen some of the things bears can do and wouldn't want to deal with them at all. Glad you got into the sewing room if only for a minute.

Tammy, glad the ground is ready to be worked. I agree that I don't plant until after Mother's day. It just never seems to work. My mom couldn't plant before Memorial Day. But she lived in the mountains. Hope Joe's check up went well. I loved your toast story. It seems like it is so hard to get things the way you need them.

PJ, Ebay has a lot of fun things. It is amazing what you can find. I know some of my kids use it a lot. Glad to know you aren't cold at night. I hate not being able to fix things like that. Are there any more people there yet?

SS, I remember how much fun it was to live in the South. I actually liked it in February and March but didn't like anything after. Too hot and humid. I'm glad you had a fun time here anyway, but that is how you go. If it were here, you could come back and it would be nice. But I'm not as far north as you are so I'm sure you will find cold and wet for a bit more.

The boys are here and I've got them having "quiet time" so the youngest can take a rest. After that, we might go outside again as it will be rainy and snowy tomorrow. I'd like to see some sunshine today.

Have a fun day everyone.

Rainy all day yesterday and this morning but now it is beautiful again. Frank found a replacement window on ebay received it and he got that installed on Sunday. Yea. He found one at a really good price. He loves using ebay to find things he needs and wants.

Wishing you all a good day.

Another night of Bingo is history - still no win! We only have 4 more Bingo nights before we leave so we better hurry up and win!

It's is a beautiful day here today so I hope to get out and do something fun.

Tammy - after losing our awning in a wind while driving, we try to pull off and stop rather than drive in it. Pete and Marianne drove through strong winds the day they arrived. Pete was really tired after 5 hrs of trying to stay on the road. I hope Joe's apt is routine and that his diabetes is still under control. It probably is a big help that you eat so consciously as well. I know I always eat better when Norm is eating better too.

LG - I don't like wind but I could handle wind better than a bear! At least I feel very secure from animals in our RV. It's nice that you got some time in your sewing room.

WG - you are right up close and personal with your DS so you can see every time his mood goes up or down. How long has it been since he moved in? Hopefully, his divorce will be final soon. That may or may not help! Our friends son has been horrible since he left his wife last July. The one who caught his wife having an affair with his sister's husband. BUT, he has a new GF. I see on FB that he flew to Las Vegas for the weekend with her and two other couples. It appears he had a very nice time. Perhaps a new interest will help him heal from the past.

Hi, Seesters!

LG, I am not planting anything yet. This is just working up the raised beds from not getting them prepared as I wanted last fall. I have re-potted some things that are in-house right now. I always try to keep my decorative plants from year to year - coleus, ivys, airplane plant, etc. - and get cuttings from them to start new ones to replace some when they eventually must be. I saw a FB post last night from a former colleague that had seen some type of bird at a birdfeed that always signaled the time to plant corn when she lived in Iowa. If that is indeed the case, we are having a VERY early spring. I have daffodils bloomed that I would have missed yesterday if Joe had not mentioned them to me. They were not bloomed on Sunday when I WAS looking.

WG, it must be hard to watch DS struggle with all these stressors. What am I saying? I know it's hard! As to my comments about paydays, I laughed when I looked back at what I had written. I knew what I was writing. LOL I have a monthly retirement check regardless. It is the "extra" check from my college job that I enjoy having the extra leeway with and that second one from this spring semester comes this week. It just seems like it has been forever. Yes, it provides a bit of leeway in the short term and is often used for the bigger things.

SS, the only thing worse than being in the MH during those winds is to be on the road in the MH in those winds, IMO! I still remember a trip home from Pensacola with winds - it was grueling...

I haven't called my cousin yet. I was on FB last night at a time that I am not usually and noticed that FB showed that one of them was "on". At any time that they actually have had WiFi, they could have contacted me, including last night. I am seriously considering just sending a private FB message back, as that is how they contacted me in the first place. If I knew the kiddos were going hungry, that would be different.

We have a regular doctor appointment for Joe this morning - we are so very fortunate after all these 20+ years that his diabetes is managed so well.

Have a very good day. Hello to all.

Been a very busy day here again. But I did get some time in my sewing room and got a few more strips on the baby quilt. I might try to get back up there yet tonight.

WG, hope that you will post some pictures of the remodel. Maybe your DS needs to see another counselor and get some different meds. Maybe a gentle nudge from mom the nurse??

SS, not sure that I'd want to be in a MH with the wind blowing like that. Once (about 40 years ago) Thomas and I went to PA to their hunting camp. The "camp" was an old air stream camper. We didn't have wind we had a bear pushing on the camper. Scared me half to death. I told Thomas that we were leaving the next morning. I didn't sleep the whole night!

Tammy, you are inspiring me to get busy outside but I'm afraid that if I start to clean out the fall leaves and the plants are coming up that they'll get nipped by freeze/frost before it's time.

Got to get busy.

Good morning Seesters. The bug man is here spraying, the electrician is supposed to come, and the kids are coming to take a load somewhere. I've got a bit more to slavedrive DS into doing so I can get done with the basement.

He is in a blue funk still/again. He takes medication and sees a counselor so it is something he needs to figure out. I'd sometimes like to insist that he "DO" things to get over his feelings, but he is adult and doesn't take direction as well as he didn't take it when he was younger.

But things are getting done and there will be a finished basement in a few weeks no matter what or in spite of him. It will take a bit to get everything in place but it will happen.

SS, so sorry that the storm was that severe. It is hard to be in a "rocking" house when trying to sleep. Hope Nala gets out before too long.

LG, sounds like you are busy again this week. Hope you get time to do some things for yourself soon. Although I'm sure you enjoy the money and the things you can do.

Tammy, two checks a semester? That is a bit hard to budget. I'd be inclined to use those for "big" things instead of day to day expenses.

Got to get busy. There is a lot to get done today. I always have a list but need to get some things done before the kids arrive. Have a great day.

We survived quite the storm that moved through in the night. Our MH was just a rocking from the wind. It's still overcast but the rain has stopped. Perhaps it will get better as the day progresses. Poor Nala wants to go for a walk so bad but it is still so wet out. She just had a bath last night and is so clean and smells so good. I am procrastinating taking her outside. Perhaps if I can put her off for another hour!

Mr Veggieman comes today at 4:45 to our park. To be honest, I don't need much but I may walk over and see what he has in the way of fruit.

At least we can look forward to Bingo tonight. It will get us out of the MH and a chance to socialize.

Hi, Seesters!

Thank you for the suggestions as to how to respond to my cousin. I haven't called yet -

WG, fingers crossed that the unemployment comes through this week! It seems that the month went by really quickly, but it may not seem so to you. When I am working, I get two checks, but after winter break, it seems like FOREVER until near the end of February when I get the second check again. Of course, in the summer, there isn't a second check from May until near the end of September.

SEK - you have work today? Our schools are out, unless they are making up for a snow day earlier. They did have one earlier, but it has been so long ago that I don't remember when it was. Maybe right before Christmas break.

There was some cutting of material and some gardening done yesterday and I have more of the same planned for today. There is one more meal of the smoked meats - and I made a potato salad yesterday which has leftovers for a side today. It has been nice to have that part of the meal already done. I am watching our meat sales to see if something else would be good as smoked. I need to check the freggie situation as well. I hate when I wait too long for something that escaped my notice in the fridge.

Have a good day! Hello to all my seesters.

Morning, another week has begun, hope it's a good one for everyone.

Last week for me was crazy because of school, some days had to make 3 trips and other days they got out at noon, this was because of parent teacher conferences. Glad this is over for the year.

It's raining a little here and that's ok, we need it.

Good afternoon, ladies.....

SS, that is nice that you were able to eat with no weight gain! And the meat sounds like a deal. My nieces live in the Dallas area and they tell me that meat (beef especially) is not expensive as it is raised very close. Veggies are cheap too. But everything else is horrible. I guess it evens itself out. Sorry that you aren't enjoying Texas. Thomas hated it when he was stationed there in the Army. I'm sure that you will be happier in AZ! The weather (I've heard) is so much better.

Tammy, that is awful that people would put you on the "spot" for money to help themselves out. GoFundMe pages are strictly off limits for me. And I've seen obits where they ask for money to help pay for expenses. NOW, that said when someone dies suddenly and the family isn't prepared, I can maybe see it. But for the most part...no. I feel for you though and I'm like WG, explain that at this time you can't help out. He really doesn't need an explanation.

WG, when Jason was laid off, he got unemployment about 2 weeks after the fact. He didn't get a full time job for over a year. But he did go back on a part time (read contract) basis. He taught at a community college. He actually loved that job but it didn't have any benefits. It is nice that your church comes to check on you.

We went to Carmen's middle school tourney and they won!! We were so happy for them. I did way to much sitting so I've got to move more today.

My brother, Joe went on a mission trip to Belize with a group of pharmacists. He just got back and said it was very hard work! But he enjoyed it and plans to go back next year.

Our weather isn't great here and I'd planned to go outside and walk but I'm guessing I won't be able to do that. Just too windy and cool.

Morning!
The restaurant we went to yesterday was Furr's. I had never heard of it before. When we got there, it is a buffet and very similar to Golden Corral. I ate wisely and this morning my weight is down, almost unheard of after eating out!

Today is overcast, very windy (again!) and rain expected later today. The temps will be upper 80's flirting with the 90's. It's easier to stay inside in the a/c'd MH than fight with the heat and humidity (95%). Norm admitted yesterday that he has not enjoyed the weather this winter so I doubt we will be back next year. I've found a park in AZ in Apache Junction that perks our interest. It's even smaller than this park and no woodcarving so although we haven't ruled it out, we will keep looking!

We went to Junior's Supermarket yesterday to get our meat for the week as we heard they have good cheap meat. We bought a pkg of pork steaks, chicken leg qtrs, and beef steaks. Each pkg is enough for two meals. It all came to $14. We didn't need much else and it's a good thing as their other stuff was NOT cheap!

WG - I hope your unemployment kicks in soon so you know you are not left without any income. BUT, I hope you can manage to stay home and not have to go back to work. If I remember right, you have to accept a position if it is offered or you lose your unemployment. I remember avoiding a phone call that I thought might be offering me the job as by then I decided I didn't want to go back to work!

Hi Seesters. Just finished my unemployment search for the week. it is a weekly thing and there aren't a lot of places that hire nurses so I'm applying for different positions in the same hospitals. I may get an interview with one again this week. I interviewed with the same company this week for a different hospital.

I so enjoy being home and this is the one month anniversary of when I "retired." I still haven't received any unemployment money but it should come this week. I had some in my checking account and had money on my credit card. I've been fine. I don't want to go too long with no income, though.

PJ, hope the window comes soon. Is it too cold without the window? That would be my problem although I'm sure you have it all in place. Hope you are enjoying some of the fish.

LG, glad you had a nice visit. It is fun to spend time with sisters. How were the games tonight?

SS, I can see why you want to avoid the snow. It is all gone here but we had a lot of rain and that is nice for melting. There will be more wet as the rain in California and Oregon comes this way. The rest is heading to you all in Texas.

Weezie2, sounds like a great day. I'm glad you get to spend time with your girls.

Tammy, lunch and no weight gain is wonderful. The chicken sounded great. I'm glad Joe helps with meals by smoking the meat. It makes it much easier for you, I would think.

I feel badly when people need money and I "could" help. It isn't OK for all needs (Like remodeling the house) and to give is a choice and not an obligation. I can see why you will have a hard time calling back but you can just sadly say that you cannot at this time give to him and his family but you are sure that he can figure something out. You have faith in his ability to find a way to provide for his family.

I'm off to bed. Have "home teachers" in the morning. Men from my church come once a month to visit and give a spiritual message and check on the welfare of the people in the church. Women also visit monthly and I had that visit already. It is nice to have people check up on us and to check up on others.

I do have to be up and dressed for that. No wandering about in my jammies before going to church.

Have a fun day.

Morning!

Our only thing on our agenda today is going out to eat later. I may fit a grocery shopping trip in as supplies are getting low.

It is going to be warmer today and a littler windier but still better than it has been. So I'll enjoy it as we have rain moving in tomorrow.

Weezie2 - we've been keeping an eye on the weather up by you (and our kids too). I can't believe how mild the winter has been and now these wonderful temps look like they'll last for a week or so. Funny, but I'm betting by the time it's time for us to head home, it will be colder again.

LG - glad you enjoyed your day with Margaret. We are booked here until 3/31. Then if it's nice at home, we'll head straight there but if it's cold, we'll drag our feet and wait until further into April to arrive. After avoiding snow all winter, we don't want to go home to snow!

Tammy - I don't envy you having to turn down giving money to them. So many people have GoFundMe Pages now days. I've given to so many that I have to put my foot down. The death we had last week within the family is another example. They have established a GoFundMe page to pay for the funeral. I may have to give to that but again I say, I have to put my foot down. One of my Spark Friends on FB, started a GoFundMe page to remodel their home. Granted, it was in bad shape but no one gave them money. After a rant from her about her friends letting her down, she unfriended us. Oh well, I can't give to everyone as much as I'd like to.

WG - so far I have avoided the crud going around. I remember when I lost my job at 61 how devastated I was. I shared on SP if you remember. I honestly tried to find something new but no one was willing to hire a 61 yr old. So I took Unemployment until I was 62 and could draw SS. I should have stayed on Unemployment as it was more money! I just know it all worked out for me and it will for you as well. I have no desire to go back to work, I know that.

PJ - did you realize when the window blew out? I'm glad you could get a new one so quickly. I hope it doesn't take too long for Frank to fix. Wouldn't want to bite into his fishing time, lol. I've been thinking about being alone with no other RVer's in your loop and it's sounding better the more I think about it. As long as I had unlimited data on my computer and a good connection, I would be happy!

It was beautiful here this week too. we had 60's yesterday and this weekend should be nice too. My niece and I worked outside yesterday and Kami spent the night. We're all going out to eat tonight to celebrate Chell's birthday.

Have a Great Saturday!

Hi, Seesters!

I didn't get the raised bed finished that was the goal yesterday, so to finish that one is the goal for today. If I get beyond that, all the better! I made progress anyway. I had a great time with my friends at lunch, and my weight is down this morning from what it was yesterday morning. Go figure...I had a delicious Hawaiian chicken and broccoli and this place's scrumptious salad bar. Joe's smoked pork steak was delicious last night with the blackeyed pea salad that I had made previously. We have another serving of pork steak and then a smoked chicken, which we always really like. I plan to have a top-crust-only blackberry cobbler in the oven for Joe here shortly before the day gets too warm.

Little Jane's dad contacted me for the first time in many months via a private FB message a few days ago, asking me to call. I haven't done so yet. I am fairly certain he will be asking for money and it makes me sick to even think about the fact that I will have to tell him no, so I have avoided it. Once a few years ago when we kept them from being evicted and took them groceries, he said he sometimes doesn't tell his wife things and it was kind of a potential red flag. I feel really bad because of little Jane's illness, even though I don't think she is any worse. Perhaps I will figure out a way to help a bit. I don't know.

Have a good day!

WG, not sure if I should pray that you get a job or not! LOL!!! At this time in your life it is more fun to stay home unless you can get exactly what YOU want. If you want a job, I hope that you get it.

Tammy, we had a beautiful day here with temps in the 70s. But of course I didn't get out in the yard as I went to see Margaret.

SS, sorry that Norm sold your favorite carving. But like you said...he can make another one. Are you planning to head back to MI soon? I'm certainly looking forward to the warm weather.

PJ, saw Frank's pic on FB and that fish is a monster. Sorry that you are the only ones in the park. Hopefully more will be coming soon.

We had a great day with Margaret. We went shopping and I got a few things for the house. But mostly we just visited.

Tomorrow we are going to Carmen's games and will be gone all day so I'll be back on Sunday.

Hi Seesters. It is quiet today and I've got no big plans. I like days like that. Of course, it is fun to have a quiet day, especially after a long week of not quiet.

Tammy, glad you got into the garden yesterday. Good plans for today. I love being outside in the fresh air and love seeing things get organized. Isn't is interesting how we hold onto things that aren't really useful but don't really want to give up. I found that a lot when I reorganized my kitchen. I didn't toss a lot when I cleaned things out but certainly tossed a lot when it came time to put it back together.

SS, glad you have avoided the sleeping sickness. The nose stuff is hard enough. My doctor had me take allergy medicine like Zyrtec in addition to a nose spray to get rid of the nose crud. I was surprised at how well it worked.

LG, hope your day with your sister is fun. I know you like to get together when you can.

I didn't get the job. Not surprising as I'm not a spring chicken. The odds of getting a job at this point in my life are not good. It is part of the process I have to go through while I'm trying to settle with my former employer. I have to draw unemployment and apply for jobs and go to interviews. It is not fun but if I get a job, that is good and if I don't, I have to do it anyway.

Have a good day everyone.

WG sorry to hear you need to go back to work but at least hope that a new job will be less stressful for you. It does sound like you are feeling better not working.

SS having more fun I see.

We have settled into our new home for the next 7 weeks. Had a broken bedroom window when we got her I should say it blew off and was totally gone. Frank has a new one ordered and should arrive today. Hoping it won't be too big of a pain for him to install. I have been trying to get into my routine again. We are the sole occupied site in this campground loop right now. More of the regulars have either died or not coming anymore. When we started coming here in 2004 we were the "young uns" so now age is eliminating many of our friends.

Rainy here today so I will enjoy reading a good ebook.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Good Morning!
So far I have avoided the crud going around but I'm still dealing with the last crap I had. I'm still taking Mucinex and feel it in my chest so perhaps I can only deal with one at a time!

Norm is enjoying his Woodcarving this morning. He has a lot of people to teach techniques to so he's pretty happy. He also sold his "Flying Pig" woodcarving. It was one of my favorites so I have mixed feelings. I hate to see it go but he can always do another one!

Our weather is beautiful again today - two days in a row. I guess this is more like normal weather so perhaps things will be better now.

Tammy - We are also having pork steak (my favorite) for dinner today. Only I will be pan frying it in my Red Copper pan (no grease!). I think I will make a baked potato for Norm and I to split and some frozen peas. That's what's on my menu today! Norm is anxious to get home and get his flower beds weeded and ready for summer. It sounds like the temps in MI will be in the upper 50's for the next week or so. Very unusual! It's more like Apr weather there according to our kids.

LG - I see you are keeping busy. I don't feel too sorry for you as you are doing what you love to do! You are the type to stay busy as that's your personality. Enjoy your scheduled events.

WG - we do have a rainy day forecast for Monday, otherwise our weather looks good. Sorry you have been dealing with sick at your home too. How did the job interview go? I'm crossing my fingers that everything works out to your best advantage.

Hi, Seesters!

I am just a bit sore this morning after weeding two small raised beds yesterday. I want to do a larger one today - perhaps some this morning before I meet my friends for lunch and the rest after I return.

Joe is smoking pork steaks today and a chicken tomorrow, so there is some easy meal planning and I never mind leftovers for future meals.

I took a large garbage bag of "stuff" out to the trash yesterday - there was no reason to save it and the thrift store would not have appreciated it, nor anyone else. It felt good to get it out of the house. I have another cabinet to go in the kitchen. Amazing how much more room is there now that the unnecessary "stuff" is out.

SS, hope you escaped the illness going around.

WG, hope the interview went well.

LL, sickness there as well, eh? It certainly has gone around the college. Have a good time with your older sister.

Hello, ladies.....

Been a very busy week and will continue until after Saturday. Tomorrow we are going to Louisville to see my older sister for her birthday. Then Saturday, Carmen has her last 2 basketball games of the season! Brooke's softball won't start until the end of March. emoticon

I've worked 3 days this week. Sharynn has been very sick the last 2 days and today finally went to the doc and was told to go home and go to bed or she'd end up in the hospital. So she is in bed. Another gal will be in on Friday and Saturday.

I did read thru the posts and glad that all seem to be doing well. I'll have to leave it at that and get myself to bed. I'm trying to sleep later but it isn't working very well. I did sleep in until 5 a.m. on Tuesday and I was in a fog all day. Just too much sleep I think.

Hi Seesters. I've got a few minutes before I've got to run, so I thought I'd check in.

SS, the trip to Padre Island sounds fun. I'm sure you got to see a lot of fun things. Glad the weather is nice today. The nice days in the South are very nice. Hope the rain holds off, but you never can tell. I'm glad Norm is feeling better but it is hard that everyone else isn't. Have a fun day for sure.

Tammy, glad you are feeling rested. It is nice to sleep in a bit now and then. Hopefully you will get to some of your "to do" list and even outside a bit. It is nice to have a break. I'm glad your lunch out didn't cause a gain.

LG, hope your life is a bit better and quieter. I know you thrive on busy, but it is a lot without a lot of down time.

Weezie2, sounds like the construction is going to be fun. Hopefully you will end up with a front yard that isn't too changed. And hopefully will not be stuck in your driveway from the increase in traffic. The nice thing about a traffic circle is that you can always make a U turn there and to in the other direction instead of waiting for traffic to slow down so you can make a turn into the other lane. Fun to get time with the girls.

Had the Gunslinger two days with stomach virus. He was feverish and vomiting but felt better today so he went back to school. Had the other boys as well and they were fine. Hopefully I kept the boys apart so they didn't give each other bugs.

Have a job interview today. I may not be retired after all. I really don't want to go back to work but it is the smarter thing to do. There are several jobs within this company and I may be able to get one of them. There is another call I returned today that may offer another lead.

I have felt so good about being home it is hard to think about going back to work. I do need to work until I reach full retirement age if I can. The benefits would be better then.

The nice thing about staying home is the reduction in stress. I've lost about 5 pounds since being home. Sorry, SS, some of it was after the challenge ended. I'm sleeping well, my feet haven't been swollen, and I feel good. I really don't look forward to working again but need to at least for a while if I can.

I'm hoping the environment in the new place will be less toxic. One thing that may help is it is night shift. While I don't like being up all night, I do think it is less stressful as there are fewer "bosses" around and the pace tends to be a little slower. I can possibly continue watching my grands as it is also a "self scheduling" facility and I can pick my hours if I don't demand unreasonable ones.

That's my week so far. I've contacted my attorney and will need to start that. I also have to sign up for insurance and a couple of other things this afternoon.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!
We are outside enjoying a beautiful day. I think it is the best day we've had. It is sunny, light breeze and in the 70's. I wish I could put it on hold but the 90's are coming back over the weekend and rain emoticon Oh well, so far the weather forecasts have been mostly wrong so perhaps they will be wrong on that as well.

Not much going on in the park. A lot of people in their RV's sick with the same thing Norm had. They are calling it The Sleeping Sickness. Your body aches, bad headache and terrible fatigue. All you want to do is sleep. The good news is it seems to last 48-72 hrs. Norm was lucky as his lasted about 48 hrs. I just hope I can avoid the bug!

Card Elimination's attendance was way down last night. Even so, we still didn't win! I might just as well donate my money and stay home and watch TV.

It has certainly been an interesting week. I was left a notice that my water would be turned off on Tuesday starting at 9am They needed to remove the hydrant directly in front of me to allow for the round a about going in this summer. They also made the connection farther north on the road for the new subdivision. Of course nothing is ever as simply as it could be and one of the pipes cracked. They worked well past it getting dark and finished up almost 8 pm. I went to Kelly's and played with my girls for part of the day. Yesterday they worked on the road around the corner. It's going to be a long 3 months of road construction once they get all this prep work done.

One of my nieces got engaged this week at DisneyWorld. She is a big time Packer fan and has reservations already made for their wedding at Lambeau 2 years from now. (Lambeau is where the Packers play their home games)

I need to finish cleaning my sewing room too so I can get back to sewing.

Have a Great Thursday!

Hi, Seesters!

I've begun my week off with the same "sleep later" thing that I did yesterday. I'm glad I didn't have to begin my morning with a jolt.

I'll start on my ToDo list for the week today. Perhaps I shall actually get some of it done!

Hi, Seesters!

We had a nice low key Valentine's Day. Lunch out was good, and my weight was down this morning from yesterday, so that was good as well.

I have added a lunch out on Friday with some friends that I used to work with to my "week off" plans. That will be nice.

I slept so late this morning that Joe and Sugar came in to wake me. That hasn't happened in a very long time.

Have a good day, Seesters!

Good Evening!
We got up this morning and went to Roger & Eileen's by 9. Then from there Roger drove us to South Padre Island. It was really windy and gray but we decided SPI is a 2 hr drive so it may be better there. Turns out we were right. It got sunnier as the day progressed. I can't say the wind ever died down but, oh well....

We went to Sea Turtle, Inc. which is home of The Turtle Lady (she has passed). Their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and release injured sea turtles, educate the public, and assist with conservation efforts for all marine turtle species. It was sure no showplace but it was very interesting.

Then we drove from end to end of the island. There were places where the sand dunes were moving right onto the road. Of course, the highlight was driving right on the beach! Before we left, we went to Pier 19 to eat. It is a real popular tourist place to eat. It was a very fun day. I'm glad we didn't postpone as it did not rain at all.

Good morning. Happy emoticon Day. Hope you all are having fun with your loved ones and having a wonderful time.

Have two sick grands and one healthy one. I see a movie afternoon coming up. It's OK because I've got a lot to do.

Tammy, sorry for the "purse dial." It is awkward when we do silly things like that.

LG, hope your day isn't too busy. Love the picture of your DH on FB. He is adorable. Love the overalls. My FIL wore them. It's fun to see family members for sure.

PJ, hope you are settled in and enjoying your new area. I hope the fishing is good and the heat not too much.

Hi to my other Seesters.

Still having fun with DIL. Hoping to hear from the judge any moment. It will be nice to have a firm decision, I hope.

I'm off to be Grandma. Lots of cleaning up to do. It piles up quickly.

Happy emoticon Day!

WG, no plans for going anywhere for the week off. Perhaps might go see my DB or my mom one day, but I feel my garden beds calling me...the forecast is going to be in the 60s. Our spring break is coming up in three weeks, and our plan is to be gone - just to Branson - during most of that. I will want a lot of the garden prep to be done before that as after it won't be long before I will need to get some things in the ground. There is a baby quilt that needs to be started as well.

I anxiously look every other day to see if I have asparagus. This is my third year and that is supposed to be the year that it really begins to produce. I have daffodils that are trying to form the bulbs at the ends of their stems. I saw a Siberian iris amidst a bunch of weeds that I should have taken care of last fall. I was surprised that it wasn't choked out.

The touch screen on my phone activated a call to my youngest SD yesterday afternoon when I placed the phone in my purse. It scared her as I NEVER call her at that time of day. I don't carry my phone in a pocket ever, so there are no pocket/butt calls. Silly technology.

TB, hope all is well. We've enjoyed our viewings of the shows set in Sasketchewan and Newfoundland that I posted about on FB.

Have a good day! Hello to all my friends!

so far Thomas and I have dodged the sickness that has gone around here. Crossed fingers!

SS, hope that Norm is doing better. And some days it is just nice to have nothing that you have to do.

Tammy, what a fun time with your DS & BIL. Glad that you enjoyed it.

WG, you are such a good gramma.

This will be a very low key week for us. Tomorrow I am working and Thomas and I are giving a tour of the museum for 10 Cub Scouts and their parents. Then Carmen has 2 more games (Thursday and Saturday) and she is done for the year with basketball. We are going to Louisville to see my sister on Friday and celebrate her birthday which isn't until the 24th but we can't go then. The next week has no commitments at night!! emoticon

Worked in my sewing room for about 3 hours today and got a good start on the new baby quilt. But have you ever started something like that and just questioned yourself about whether or not you are doing it right? I'm just not sure it is right. Plan to take it to work tomorrow and see what Sharynn says.

Hi Seesters. I'm home today.and had plans but am watching the grands as DIL (you know which one) is busy and has things to do. I'm also picking up the kids. We'll be fine because the kids can unwind before they have to do homework.

Tammy, sounds like a nice dinner. I'm glad it was tasty enough to eat it all. It would be nice to take some home but sometimes it is just fun to eat and visit. Are you going somewhere on your week off?

LG, hope you are getting some rest this week. Last week was so busy. I don't think you've been working before when you were doing all the baking. It has to take a toll on you to be so busy every day.

SS, hope Norm feels better today. I'm sure a "break" from being busy was a nice thing.

Got to get some paperwork done today. Then it is "grandma time" for the rest of the day. Have a fun one.

Good Evening!
It's been another very warm day with plenty of wind. Norm got up and went for his normal walk with Nala. When he got back he announced he was sick and went back to bed. He slept all day and other than taking Nala out to walk around the park a couple times I pretty much was a couch potato.

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a more productive day!

Hi, Seesters!

I was surprised yesterday afternoon with my youngest DS's husband texting me asking if we wanted to meet them in town for dinner - well, yes, especially with it being a favorite place! It was fun. I should have brought part of my chicken entree home, but did not. Yesterday will be my first red star since the New Year. That's okay. I think we are six weeks into the year. The food was good and we laughed a lot. I am 16 years older than my youngest DS; that's kind of interesting some times, but fun.

WG, I do hope his almost former inlaws' appreciation helped to soothe DS's soul. I went to my former oldest BIL's 50th wedding anniversary this past summer and some of my former inlaws were there. Some of these folks were quite complimentary of "my" kids and that soothed something for me after all those hard years and it has been almost 30 since we were divorced.

Have a good day, friends! One more set of exams and I will be done for this time.

Hello, ladies.....

Well, where do I start.....read all the posts....lots to comment on.

WG, I absolutely hate drama. But that DIL is clearly a nut job! Glad that her parents realize that. But I feel for those children. It is so sad.

Tammy, hope that you got those tests graded. I know that when Rachel went to counseling she went once a week. But she only went about 2 months and she was released.

PJ, travel safely. Glad that your DIL is seeing a counselor also. I'm sure that she is also glad to be going.

Sharon, decisions...where to find the "perfect" place!! I'm betting on AZ next year!

Mimi, hope you come back to see us.

TB, what are you up to these days?

Weezie2, I know that you have been busy with the girls. Stop in when you can.

Weezie1, glad that you are feeling better but hate that Gary now has it.

Remember the saying....best laid plans, etc.? Well, Friday was supposed to be my day to do what I wanted. Didn't happen. A girlfriend called me and asked if I could help her finish her quilt. Well, long story short...I told her that I'd do what I could. So I spent the morning trying to figure out how to help her and then she texts me to tell me that she isn't coming. And she only gave me 30 mins. notice before she was supposed to be here. So I went up to the sewing room and started to purge! Got a call from Rachel. She was supposed to be home at 5:30 to get the grandkids. Well, she had to stay late at work so she wanted us to go get them. So I told her we would. Jason and Stephanie mentor an engaged couple and Friday night was the night for the "sex" talk. So they don't want the kids there. We picked them up at 5:30 and went out for pizza. Rachel came later and then we went to Target. After spending some time there we went to Dairy Queen and they all got ice cream. Jason and Stephanie joined us later. We had a great time and I can't remember laughing so much.

This morning I spent at the museum and baked. We went to Carmen's game this afternoon. I'm rolling pie dough tomorrow. I'm a bit busier than I want to be. I'll have to step back and look at this big picture. I know it doesn't last forever and will be over soon. Once we have our big fundraiser we don't have anything else until June.

I'll try to get back tomorrow.

I think DIL is to be going every week as soon as the counselor can fit her into a weekly time slot. If she does ok with every other week that works to I an just so thankful she is going

WG what a mess that DIL is a nut case for sure. I am so glad her parents are thanking DS for what is doing for those kids. Iím sure it is hard for them to see how crazy their daughter is ad what she is doing to those kids

Finished the laundry and not Frank and I are both cleaning up and packing. Will leave about 9 in the morning and arrive at our destination Monday afternoon.

Hi Seesters. Another gray day but no rain so that is good. No flooding here but the counties around have had a lot of it.

Tammy, didn't get to the purging. There was too much drama with DIL yesterday to get much done at all. I did get my scrubs bagged in a "space bag" to keep for a while until I'm ready to part with them. Much nicer than having them in my closet.

I hope you find the reason your computer is not behaving. That is so frustrating even with the tablet and phone. Just not fun. Enjoy grading papers and getting it done.

I'm glad DD is still seeing a counselor. If she is liking it, it should be helpful for her. It's good of you to help her out with this.

I do enjoy a more relaxed "mindfulness" and that is where I need to be right now. I like your stars idea. I did that for a long time when I first started. It made it easier for me and the eating plan I was on wanted "four servings of vegetables, three servings of fruits, three servings of protein," etc. It made it easier for me to just check off my portions. I'm not as good about eating the portions as I was but I'm happier and that is good for something..

SS, the humidity was the worst thing about living in the South for me. I hated being damp all the time. And pregnant made it worse. I miss a lot of the fun things about the area but not that. I like the idea of you finding a nice place that is better in your budget for next year in a drier clime. You can then visit your old friends who are still there and enjoy the winter. I know that PJ with miss the visits, though.

PJ, I know you are getting ready to leave today. Have safe travels. I'll be thinking of you. I'm glad DIL is seeing someone and is getting help. She will be richer for it.

Lots of DIL drama yesterday. She dropped kids off and didn't pick them up when she promised. Left others at school. Other grandparents had to get them. Then showed up at the door and brought on tantrum and lots of "lost children" not feeling safe. It took a long time for DS to get them settled down. At least her parents told him while they were together that they appreciate and support him in his care of the children.

Then she posts garbage on FB for sympathy. Not my favorite person.

The kids except for the youngest are going to a movie this afternoon. The new Lego movie is out. The youngest and I will sort through some things and get more purging done.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!
It is very hot and humid here today. Mid 90's and everything feels damp! I'm trying hard to like TX but between the wind and humidity, I'm having a difficult time. The humidity seems to be sitting on my chest, if that's possible. I've been doing a lot of coughing so I bought myself some mucinex (sure isn't cheap) and took some last night. I actually slept much better so perhaps it will help.

Tammy - I spent time with my computer yesterday as well. It seems my Volume icon disappeared and I could not turn the sound on since it was off when it disappeared. How in the heck these things happen, I don't know. BUT, seems I'm not alone when I googled the issue. I found a way around it as a temporary fix. My mindful moderation didn't work too well this week as I had a slight gain but I'm not giving up the idea yet.

PJ - we did have a nice day followed by a lot of hot days! The humidity is really bad. Our electric is much lower but in AZ, we usually are not running a/c in Jan or Feb. Here we have been running it a lot already! I do believe your DIL is benefiting from her counseling. Years ago, my best friend would stop over on her way home from counseling. She, too was emotionally drained and there was always signs of crying. BUT, it was really a help for her to face her demons.

WG - you are right about me not liking the heat. In AZ, we didn't have to deal with it much before March though. I get emails and FB posts all the time from our friends in AZ. It's like sunny every day and temps in the upper 70's. Sounds like paradise to me! I'm researching parks in AZ that aren't as expensive as TP. It sounds like your remodeling is going well. I hope you took before and after pics to share. If not, after pics would still be good!

Hi, Seesters!

I spent time yesterday trying to "fix" my main computer, and then spent time taking it to the college's PC Repair Clinic. Joe has set me up on his laptop for now. I also have my ipad and my phone, so all is not lost.

I thought I would have my exams graded by now, but only one class. It will be done by Monday.

SS, hope your version of Mindful Moderation worked for you. I know that I just could NOT wrap my mind around some of the things that I did in the past - not that anything was extreme then, but I think some of the record keeping that was done in other challenges [not RV Enthusiasts] just turned me off that sort of thing. I seem to be good with my stars and minor tracking of freggies, etc. for the time being.

PJ, yes, I would agree with your opinion of DIL's counseling sessions. DD has been 3?4? times, but is finding she needs to do every two week appointments as her budget/mom's help won't allow more often. There WERE other options, including a sliding scale somewhere that for whatever reason she chose not to do.

WG...glad for progress in the remodel, sorry for the continual concern - and as you know, I know a bit about such...how is the organizing/donating/purging going?

LG so glad Rachel found a new WW meeting that she is liking sounds like she is great. Sure hope your machine is finally fixed. Is your new working schedule with more hours going to be permanent?

Tammy not on the road until Sunday but thanks for the prayers. Yes DIL has had 2 counceling sessions and DS says she is happy with them and that she comes home exhausted. I told him I would take that as a good sign that she is letting out a lot of stuff that will help her.

Sharon glad your electricity is more reasonable. But may make it harder for you decide on a winter destination for next year. Loving this weather today. Just beautiful.

WG Iím kind of thinking your may be right about DIL. I think she is going to like the single life and in turn may make it easier on DS but he may end up having the kids more than he expected because of it. Hopefully the school district will change to be more convenient for DS

Good morning. Sounds like a nice morning so far.

SS, glad the utilities are lower there. The heat is a negative, but you didn't like the heat at TP either. Humidity is not cool. It tends to wilt me more than anything. Hated being damp after I showered. But my skin was wonderful when I lived in the South.

Tammy, good timing for the celebration. No obligation to stay longer. I agree with you about the "chiefs" as opposed to the people in the trenches. It seems like it would be easier and more helpful to have more people actually teaching and not worrying about other things, or even dividing that responsibility a bit more so everyone teaches

Do you live in the direction the school will want to expand?

And no, DS isn't yet in a place to get total custody. The divorce is not final yet. She has been fighting it, but should be done with that. They are waiting for a waiting for a final decision. The question was whether or not their mediation agreement should be binding and in the best interest of the children. The judge is new and needed to think a bit longer.

There would be no change in custody unless something actually happens. That is a terrible thought, but a fact of life. Haven't heard on the house hunting yet. I'm hopeful that she will do something before March. The kids are in year round school and every agreement that DS and DIL made the past two years included if she moved from the current school she enrolled the children in that they would return to the school in DS's area.

She is getting busy when the kids are gone and isn't even calling in the evening to wish them goodnight. She doesn't tell them she isn't going to call, just finds an excuse. Usually it is her phone is dead and if she does call it is the boyfriend's phone. I keep encouraging DS to be patient. She will find that her "new" life is so much more fun than the old one that she won't fight him over the kids and he will end up with more time whether or not he wants it.

Today is the electrician coming with an estimate. I'm hoping he will be done by next week then I can get the sheet rock in. Then it is painting and carpet. It will be nice to be done.

Have a great day.

Morning! I had to go pay our electric bill. It was 72.69 from 12/30 to 1/30. It sounds high but I looked and last year during the same time period @TP it was 224.21. The Kilowatt is about half the cost as in AZ. Put that in the Pro column for coming back next year!

It is pleasantly cool this morning after our hot, sticky day yesterday. We topped out at 98! Today the humidity is way down and we will get in the mid to upper 70's. The breeze is light so it's almost a perfect day. I'll take it!!

Nala is sure full of energy this morning. I think it's safe to say she enjoys the cooler temps.

Tammy - I am trying your Mindful Moderation this week with my carbs. I can't talk myself into going under 20 carbs so I decided to go under 100 which is still considered low. The scale is happy with my decision. It isn't going down in leaps and bounds but it's headed in the right direction.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, of course the possibilities have the potential to be overwhelming, don't they? Is there a possibility of total custody for DS, or at least supervised visitation?

LG, a very busy time for you, mostly good!

I think PJ is on the road today...prayers for traveling mercies. And if it isn't today, I am sure the good Lord will laugh and apply the prayers to the actual travel day. emoticon
Did your DIL get to the counselor yet?

Weezie2, such sweet times with the girls emoticon As for construction, I am always thinking that at some time the school district might decide to expand - we live next door to the town's junior high. I don't wish to move, but have a couple of things in mind should we ever need to do so.

TB, hi! How's it going there? I've loved seeing the Canadian scenes in the two shows that I have highlighted on FB. We have "visited" Sasketchewan and Newfoundland. How's that for virtual traveling? LOL

Mimi, how is 60 treating you?

Hello to all...have a very good day. I have a trim scheduled and really SHOULD pop in to the 10th anniversary celebration. I'm going to time it so that it is a very short and near the end of said celebration.

Hello, sorry I've been MIA for a couple of days. We've been very busy at the store and yesterday was a blur! Carmen had a ball game and we didn't get home until late and I went straight to bed. This morning I went in at 8 a.m. because we had our 1st embroidery class and it was fun. Actually, had 2 classes one in the morning and one this afternoon. I have 2 appointments tomorrow and then I'm working from noon to 5. Carmen has 2 games tomorrow so I'll be there. Friday we are baking at the museum. At least I'm staying out of trouble!!! LOL!!

As for my machine, I have taken it home and I took it back to work on my project for the embroidery class. Don't know why but the bobbin tension was messed up. Darrell got it working perfectly! So it's back home in the sewing room. Just a glitch!

WG, when will the divorce be final.....I'm sure that the parents don't like her lifestyle at all. How many children do they have? Can he get full custody?

PJ and Sharon, it is snowing here and cold. So your 90 sound heavenly to me!

Weezie, so glad that you are feeling better! I know you are counting the days till retirement.

Weezie2, so happy that you get to spend so much time with your girls.

Tammy, that is such a nice story about Karen. Happy that she has gotten her education and a job.

Have to share....I think I mentioned that Rachel was unhappy about the WW meeting coordinator here and was going to quit WW. THen she decided to try to find another meeting group. Well, she did and started in January. She has lost 10 more lbs since the 1st of the year! She lost 4.8 last week. I'm so proud of her. But I think I'm gaining all that she has lost.
With all this working and not getting to eat right...I'm afraid I'm going to see a big + on the scales this week. Not happy with myself at all. Got to get it together.

We'll be gone tomorrow night so I'll be back on Friday.

Sharon the laundry is in the back of the rec hall. 2 washers and 2 dryers.

Boy oh boy it is a hot one today. Sharon it is so hot the javelinas are out laying in the shade and I have never seen them do that before.

Good afternoon Seesters. Fabio is watching the Dragon movie so I have a minute. He helped me clean up the dog's bedroom. The children also sleep over there and there are toys there as well. That is what we cleaned up. The grands like to call it the dog's room.

Weezie1, hope the crud gets better. I'm glad you can count the counts until retirement. It is a great way to look at the time left. I'm sure you won't miss working, but hang in there. It won't be long. Glad Ava is doing well with the move.

PJ, have a fun last couple of days. I'm glad you can get away from the bad weather.

Tammy, I'm glad Kathy got a job. Sounds like a good fit when she was struggling to move. Sounds like she was moving well before she graduated as the requirements for nursing school require a lot of steps.

DS knows there is nothing he can do about the boyfriend visiting. He is worried that the boyfriend will harm his children. Most sexual assaults on children are caused by the boyfriend, and often while the mother is home. He is deathly afraid for his daughter and for the sons who can also be abused. The baby is relatively safe for a couple of years.

Weezie2, can't believe the baby is so old. How fun for you. I'm glad you went to the hearing. Sounds like it really affects you so you needed to be there. It would be nice to hook up to sewer. Losing some front property might not be fun. I hope it works out well for you and you don't have a lot of noise or loss of privacy.

SS, love the pot and the tree. The toucan is adorable. Norm is so talented. I love that so many of the men of the group are artistic in so many different ways. 6 loads of laundry! That's a lot.

Going to get some more work done. I've got to do some things for the attorney so I can move forward. It is all a long process. Have a great day.

I've been having trouble with my internet the past few days. I finally rebooted it this morning. What a difference.

I had a meeting last night that I went too. It was very informal but I was glad I went.
The county has a road construction project that effects me. So I got to see first hand the impact it will have on my property. I will lose a few trees and some frontage but nothing too drastic. I think they were happy I showed up. When they planned on putting the round a bout in no one realized that the land they want to acquire from me is where my holding tank sits...Can we say oops! The new subdivision going in behind me has sewers so they're going to see if I can be connected instead of having to move the holding tank.. I'm glad it's their problem and not mine to deal with.

Sorry everyone else is dealing with issues too.

I've been enjoying my girls. It's hard to believe Daphne is 7 weeks old already. Claire is such a good big sister. I'm very happy she's doing well with it.

Have a Great Wednesday I need to get a few things done .

Tammy - I'm glad you slept well as I sure didn't! I had a terrible night but ended up falling into a deep sleep when it was time to wake up. I almost rolled over and tried to go back to sleep but I didn't. I'm happy to read your friend Kathy, has completed her studies and has gotten a job. That is fun to see happen.

Weezie - I hope you are feeling better today. It is going around everywhere. We have a lot of people sick here in the park. They call it TX Crud. I have avoided it so far. Only 3 more counts before retirement - wow! Sounds like it is getting close.

PJ - I got my laundry done yesterday! I had six loads. I let it go too long. Where is the laundry room at your park? I have to load ours in the car and drive as I can't carry it all.
This is the pot Norm bought at Don Wes flea market. Oh, and the Toucan is his latest woodcarving project.

Good morning, Seesters!

Weezie, glad you are feeling a bit better. 3 more counts and then retirement? How often do you do counts? Twice a year? Once a month?

WG, many years ago I checked with my lawyer about my then small children around such a situation - nothing I could do legally unless an actual act was done in front of the children emoticon I remember feeling so helpless.

We had a day in the 60s yesterday and more of the same today. It is glorious. Today I am giving exams - not my favorite days, for sure, but necessary under the circumstances. Tomorrow is the celebration of the 10th anniversary of our satellite campus being open. Last year the college celebrated 25 years - I went to that but doubt anyone noticed. I may or may not go tomorrow. In a budget cut economy in the state, I am a little [privately] critical of the institution being top heavy with administration. Our small location, as well as the other satellites, I believe, has both a vice president and a dean. I like them both here where I work, but that isn't the point. I feel the same way about a lot of public schools. I would likely feel the same about private schools if I knew of larger ones.

Remember I wrote about Kathy 2?3? years ago? She was the student with lots of past health problems and began to walk the hallways with me with her walker. She finished the RN program available here at our institution and has been hired in the NICU at the closest hospital. Love it!

Have a good day - I blessedly slept later than usual and have to make up some time.

Evening all,
Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. I was home sick today. Fighting the crud. Pushed myself yesterday but today my body said 'nope'! So I slept most of the day and and am trying to stay up a bit so I don't have trouble sleeping tonight. I will push tomorrow as it is count day yet again but on the bright side, if all goes well, I'll only be doing 3 more of them and I'll retire. I gotta dream!!!

The move for Ava and mama has gone well and she appears to be adapting nicely. As is mama. In the meantime the ex boyfriend lost his job where they both worked for a variety of things so it has been interesting.

WG, enjoyed the story of the kids with the markers. We have something in this house that the previous owner left and remains. He had a workshop and written on the bench with the grinder is a note to dad. Surprised the gal who lived here didn't take along but it remains as he built this place.

LG, sorry to hear about your machine. I'm glad you have Darryl there to fix it lickety split and I'm sure it will work better tomorrow when you finish your project.

SS, PJ, SEK, Mimi, Tammy, TB and everyone, hope you are all well. I need to address some laundry and so I'll sign off for now.

More later.....

WG glad you got the leak fixed. When we were building our current house we wrote our names on some of the boards too. It is fun like writing your name in concrete only it isn't visible. I'm snickering about DIL and her parents not liking her lifestyle.

LG do hope the machine stays fixed and lucky it was still at the shop. Convenient to get it fixed right away.

Sharon I will be doing all the cleaning and laundry on Saturday just before we leave on Sunday. Arriving at the new place all washed, scrubbed and clean.

Good morning Seesters. It is quiet here for a minute until the second boy comes. The first, Enterprise, is busy playing so I thought I'd take a minute and visit.

The leak is fixed. I've got to put things back beneath the sink. It is nice once in a while to clean out a cupboard, so I'm OK with doing it. It was a wet mess getting it out, though.

LG, that's awful that the machine messed up. Hopefully it is fixed and you can move forward. Had a problem with my new machine right after I got it. Turned out to be operator error. I didn't thread it right, I guess. They could never duplicatae the problem.

SEK, hate meetings. A good meeting should have a pre published agenda and most of the business taken care of before the meeting. The meeting itself is to discuss any problems that arose during the "planning" of the meeting and to report anything significant. Otherwise, publish the minutes and be done.

SS, I'm glad the weather is warmer, but with humidity, it is a bit more miserable. Glad you got an early walk with Nala.

DIL is looking for new digs. She says her parents are not respecting her boundaries. Translated, this means that she has brought her new love interest home and he is spending the night and her parents don't like it. DS is going to be bothered but it is expected. The danger to the children is a big concern.

The remodel looks great so far. The grands took a Sharpie and wrote on the wood last night. It is a fun tradition. When the buyers remodeled my mom's house, they found names and writing on the walls there as well. It is a bit of a time capsule.

Got to get busy and clean some more. There is always something left to do. Have a great day.

Good Morning!

We had fun at Bingo last night but we are paying for it today. Nala was crated too much yesterday and she is so full of energy today it's unreal. I decided to take her for a walk right away this morning and she ended up taking me for a run. I couldn't keep up with her!

Now I have to sort and do laundry. The weather here is very hot and humid already this morning. Our a/c is already running. It should top off in the 90's. I guess today I will appreciate the wind (or so they say)

Tammy - I posted pics of Norm's trees on the RV Tell Us About Your Day thread. Enjoy your lunch with your BFF! Sounds like a good girl chat coming on.

LG - on no, not problems with your new machine. At least you haven't taken it home so I'm pretty sure they will get it all figured out for you.

WG - Another fun evening with your kids! Congrats, on not gaining with all the food around. I'm sorry about the drama with the garbage disposal. You are lucky your DS can repair it. Norm is so handy with most things but he hates water leaks. And right now we are dealing with a leak in one of our slides. He is working hard to ge that fixed!

SEK - my heart goes out to you on meetings! It was (and still is) a sore spot with me. They rarely resolve anything. A waste of my time. I'm finding that even with the Weekly Meeting here in the park. Just read your calendar you get each week in your mailbox - just saying!

Hi, Seesters!

LG, so is your new machine "better" now?

WG, is the new mess cleaned up now?

After leaving some SP teams last week, I did some pruning of my friends list. If I saw someone and thought "who is this person?"...that was the indication to delete. Wow...I had added folks when I was a co-leader and then a leader on a BLC team and then hadn't heard from these people since. And some I never did remember where I had seen them.

I am meeting my BF for lunch today prior to piano lessons. It will be fun.

Have a good day. Hello to all my Seesters.

WG, what an awful mess. Glad that you got it cleaned up. And you are lucky that you have someone who can do that. Not that Thomas wouldn't attempt it....but....just saying!

Tammy, hope you are feeling better. I know that Weezie1 is sick and not feeling well at all. Rachel is also sick. She has a very bad sinus infection but is now on antibiotics.

I went to the shop today so that Sharynn and I could work on our next project for the embroidery club and my new machine went haywire! Darrell has it working again but that was not good! Tension was way off. So any way didn't get my project done so will have to work on it tomorrow.

Off to get a few things done.

Hi Seesters. It is a rainy and gray day but rain is good. I love that there is water mountains for summer.

The boys came over yesterday for dinner. We did Superbowl types of food. It was fun and we had a good time. It was a lot of fun. Surprisingly, even with all the goodies, I didn't gain this morning.

My drama occurred when the disposal disconnected while I was doing meal prep. I looked down as things weren't working as well as they normally do. I looked down into the cupboard below. Soon water was gushing out through the door. A couple of hours later, things were working better. There is still a small drip so DS#1 will come by later today and look at it again. Then perhaps I can put things back under the sink and get back to "normal"

Tammy, hope you feel better soon. Hate the stomach bugs. Glad you found the quilt. I look forward to the coupons soon as well.

PJ, glad you are feeling better.

SS, what a treasure to get to tour the area with some "natives" and learn the fun things.

LG, hope you are feeling better.

SEK, doesn't sound like much fun to paint again but it is pretty good exercise.

Going to get moving and clean up more from yesterday. It won't be great as I've got the sink stuff sitting in the kitchen. Have a fun day.

Hi, Seesters!

I found the Couch to Quilt baby kit as MSQC that I thought perhaps had been canceled, so I was happy to find it!

I had more of the stomach crud yesterday - still not really sure what is going on there - maybe just some bug - ick.

Meetings - making a difference - I'm with you, SEK.

Glad those that have been feeling bad are better. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

I did not get as much done as I had hoped, I got waylaid on a project with hubby, it needed done, but was not on my weekend list. As you say best laid plans.

This is meeting week, yuck, they always mess up my schedule, I wouldn't mind if they really made a difference.

Y'all take care.

Beginning to feel human again. Thanks for all the concern.

Tammy, love cleaning out all the clutter and I've been trying to do some of that myself. Starting with my sewing room. Just haven't gotten very far.

WG, as they say the best laid plans.....I do the same thing.

Thomas is sitting in the den watching the Super Bowl and I'm heading there now.

Hi everyone. I'm not going to be online long as I have dinner to prepare and I didn't get as much cleaning done yesterday because of the company.

Tammy, cleaning out parts of our lives that no longer give us pleasure is a good thing. Sometimes we can't, but when we can it works well.

My kids have done pineapples but not other fruit trees. It sounds like fun. SS, having your own "fresh fruit" is a fun thing.

Gotta run. Cleaning to do. I've got a fruit plate and veggie tray to get ready as well as some meat and rolls. I thought about doing pretzel bites but didn't want to bother with the making of them today.

Have a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

Thanks for the plant info, SS. I think that would be fun to have the trees in the house. I was entertaining the idea of a dwarf lemon tree after a local chain advertised them a week or so ago.

LG, glad you are feeling better.

SEK, I need to get busy on lots around here. Did you get lots done?

WG, how much longer before the basement space is done?

I had a rough day yesterday afternoon - a 2L of ginger ale later I seem to be somewhat better. I did get some fabric ordered from Joann's - what I needed wasn't available at the Springfield store. There is a "little" related to Joe being born in June that I purchased quilt fabric for, plus some for my big quilt. That should be it until MSQC's "special" over Mother's Day.

I have cleaned up my SP team page - feels good! I was/am glad for the experience with some of my past involvements, but am glad that I narrowed it down. It feels like a load has been lifted.

Have a good day!
