Good Evening
It's been a fun and busy day here! I love this park! We have friends stopping in all the time. More even than in AZ.

This morning started with community coffee. When I got home I did a Leslie HIIT DVD. Yes, WG, I usually do either a Leslie Sansone or a Richard Simmons DVD daily. That with a walk outside usually gets me over my 10,000 steps

Norm was bust helping our neighbors with their deck so I made lunch and invited them all over. Then this afternoon I went for a walk outside. It was so cold as the wind was really blowing. Coming home was easier with the wind blowing at my back.

Our friends with the new MH also stopped over for a visit.

LG - what a memory Brooke and Jason have! I'm so glad Brooke was chosen.

Just wanted to stop by and share. Brooke and Jason went to Washington, D.C. this week with her class. They visited Arlington National Cemetery. They placed a wreath on the Tomb of thee Unknown Soldier. Brooke was picked to help 3 other classmates place the wreath on the grave. Jason said they played Taps and it was very emotional. So proud of her!

Went to Indy today and probably shouldn't have this being 500 weekend! But we mad it home with no problems.

emoticon to everyone.

Good evening, all. I decided to check in before I got on my annual Gatlinburg Gaither Family Fest weekend. When I get back I'll resume packing and loading...then do the move! I know I will be absent for awhile.

Thanks for the kind comments and encouragement, Tammy, Pat, Weezie, SS, TB, WG and PJ. It's great you guys haven't totally forgotten me. I will do my best to return every few days to check in and when I get settled, I'll try to do better.

Have a great rest of the week and a super Memorial Day weekend!

Hugs,
Bonny

I did my new fitness class this morning then stopped by my knitters group for some talk as I was late getting there.
And yes WG I do like this class so now I will have to rotate it and knitting group on Wednesday because I donít want to give up either one

Now I have tamales cooking. Yes I know they aren't low carb but I'm trying to figure out how to make them anyway. This is my 3rd attempt. 3rd times a charm right? They are filled with a mixture of chicken and port. And I had some of the dough left so I experimenting with some filled without hummus and shredded cheese.

Won't do much except knit while they are cooking.

I took the surprise placemats to DS yesterday and he really liked them. TT (the fiancť was not home at the time). He posted a picture on fb of the chairs and placemats.

Sharon I struggle getting into a new routine when we come home. I donít walk as much so that is why I am trying to go to the fitness center 3-4 times a week and really watching what I am eating. However those tamales tonight will not be low carb.

Glad to hear from you Bonnie. As far a gaining most of us have had those issues. Just get back to what you know works and come here for support.

Weez I have made the kids the chair cusions and placemats and myself a tote bag/purse. Otherwise it is knitting.

Sharon 41,000 steps I canít even imagine. Norm is a good helper and like you say the neighbors know it.

Tammy glad you had fun checking the quilt store. Even if you didnít buy anything A lady at the fitness center keeps asking me about sewing her a purse. I am now thinking about it but still havenít decided. Of course it will depend on whether she will pay what I want for labor

TB so Red found out you were two timing him. Is that like smelling perfume on a spouse that will be an ex spouse. From my Experience. LOL

LG glad you cough is easing up a bit.

I had a dental appointment again yesterday 2 more filling replaced. Iím done now until November and we will see about how much more insurance will pay before we do anymore this year. I bit my front lip while I was numb because it sure is sore.

HI to the rest I didnít respond to directly.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

emoticon Just popping in here for a minute or two....we are leaving as soon as Thomas gets back from getting his hair cut. Went to SVDP this morning for 3 hrs. Got to pick up the kids and get Carmen to her mom and Luke home. I really want to go to a fabric store to pick up some embroidery thread for my project.

Everyone is so busy. When I was at SVDP this morning, a gal brought in a blueberry sour cream coffee cake. I tried a very small piece. It was heavenly! I'll have to get her recipe. So good...melted in your mouth.

My cough is easing every day. So I feel like I'm on the mend. If it goes too long, I'll call the doc and see what I should do. Need to get an appointment to get my hair cut. Now to find time to do it!!

emoticon Got to go.

Good morning Seesters. Had the better part of a post done and the window closed. It does that if I bump the mouse (sometimes) and I have to redo it.

I've got some grands here. The boys are here as their sitter is out today and I've got two from DS#2 as DIL is with her mother who is sick. The other two are in school.

It makes things interesting. The baby is down for a nap. He didn't take one yesterday and needed one badly. He was laying down during our "tickle torture" session this morning. The Gunslinger loves this. It involves a lot of "wrestling" and cuddling and a bit of tickling. Touch is a big deal. Even the baby has caught on and he just lays there and waits to be tickled again.

Bonnie, it was great to see your post. I'm glad you are moving. It won't be that different than now as you have spent a lot of time there so it won't be a change to your son except your official address has changed.

LG, I'm glad it is "just" allergies. It isn't fun but better than an illness. I hope it gets better soon. Have a fun time with the grands today

SS, have you tried Leslie after your walk? It would give you some steps and a bit of a workout without making your go outside again. I know we use it often to get the extra steps in on days when it is a challenge. I'm sure you will feel better if you do. I've heard that a 30 minute walk after a meal really helps control the blood sugar so perhaps after lunch?

Tammy, you are a stronger woman than I going into a quilt store and out without making any purchases. I have to drive past the places or I'm done. I've got a couple of projects before I do my summer project then I've got the makings of a few quilts that I've found and need to get done.

TB, what a fun time for you. Hope Mr TB has a safe trip. What a nice thing for him to visit. It is so hard at times. You will have to make it up to Red as he will always know when you are faithful.

PJ, have you tried the new class yet? Hope your dad is still changing his clothes.

Weezie2, so glad it isn't a big repair. My car is 11 years old and I love it, but it does get more expensive as time goes on. I've got one more to buy before I retire. I'll probably get the same car but newer.

Weezie, I'm glad you have a plan b in place for Sara. I know you will have a great time with jAva. Enjoy Kellan this weekend. It will be fun to have that one on one time.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you all have a great day. I'm off to do laundry, sew one blanket for the new nephew, perhaps work on the quilt if the children leave early enough and I've got to get flowers for Memorial day. I have so many family members at the same cemetery that I get a lot of flowers so I can remember. It helps the children think of the ancestors as well.

Have a great day.

Bonny: It's wonderful to 'see' you. I was thinking of you, just the other day.

Lily: I think Red figured out that I cheated on him with another horse; he sniffed my riding vest very suspiciously on Sunday. emoticon

Weezie2: Cars are money pits! Unfortunately, we need them.

Sharon: I'll bet you see improvements wrt your diabetes, with your weight loss.

Mr. TB is flying to Texas early Friday morning to visit an ill friend. Of course, flying being what it is today (I miss the days you could just climb on a plane and go) he has to be at the airport 2 hours early. We decided it made sense to go to the city the night before rather than scrambling in the wee hours of the morning. I probably won't be home much before mid day on Friday.

Then, I have my riding lesson on Saturday and the western games clinic on Sunday, so Red will be having a mini vacation. He won't feel too bad about that as long as he can snuggle up to his love interest. emoticon

emoticon to everybody I've missed. I'll pop by when I can. I'm just not sure when that will be.

Hi, Seesters!

The new quilt store location was awesome, as I thought that it would be. My stash did not get any new additions - I went in for one specific thing and to check pricing on another item, and the specific thing was not there, and the pricing on the other was higher than Springfield, so i got nothing.

Weezie, I was done with my semester responsibilities last Wednesday. I will have some things that I need to do for the fall semester, but am allowing myself "off" time until July 1 or so.

Hello to everyone - Sugar Dog acts as if she has to "go" and of course Joe is out visiting right now - we are at the RV park - but she IS my doggy, so I shall go help her.

Good Morning!

We have no plans for today! I can't wait to see what develops, lol. Norm continues to be his helpful busy self. The people across the street are redoing their deck and have called on Norm for his expertise! Of course, they're not dumb. Norm can't give advice. He needs to get right in and help! Then we have a divorced lady who also had a roof leak this past winter. Norm went and checked the damage. He is going to fix it for her some time this week. So he keeps busy and I stay busy trying to exercise every day. I find it time consuming to get my 10,000 steps in. I can't imagine those that get 20,000 steps in. One of the men on our RV team got over 41,000 steps in the other day! Unreal to me!!

The sun is out and the wind has let up so from behind windows it looks beautiful out. I hope it warms up some as it was 48 when I crawled out of bed.

Weezie2 - I'm glad it is just maintenance issues with the car and nothing too expensive. You got to have money to spend in Shipshe!

Weezie - I hope the temps warm enough to enjoy the picnic in the park! I'm not surprised you got Sara's back. It's just a shame you have to. Oh well, it's not just Sara. So many of that generation just fly by the seat of their pants.

LG - allergies have been so bad this year. I hope the cough lets up. You're too busy to have anything slow you down.

Bonny - your new condo sounds perfect for you! You'll have to be sure and post pictures. Now that we have the Add An Image button, we love peeking at everyone's lives.

It sounds like my car just needs new spark plugs and coils. It's a maintenance thing so this should be the last of the work that needs to be done before heading to Shipsee. Oh,
the joys of owning a vehicle that's almost 10 years old. I wasn't taking any chances on not making it so I stopped at the jeep dealer and was pricing out a new ride emoticon I talk with the mechanic working on my car and told him to make sure that any other sort of maintenance that needs to be done is taken care of. I don't want to get stranded with my grand babies anywhere.

Good evening all!

First, HELLO BONNY!!! Gulf Shores, AL eh? My sister used to live there and sadly never got there to visit. I'm sure you'll love it I hear it is a pretty wonderful place. Glad you're living YOUR dream!! Now as far as SP and weight, I'm with ya. I've had a heck of a year and struggling to get back into this game. One day at a time - and very small 'baby' steps for me.

SS, I hear ya where this crappy MI weather is concerned. Learned today that Ava has a picnic in the park tomorrow about 6 p.m. Guess they will put on a little presentation and then a potluck. Sara invited us but gave us little info so of course I called the school and got what I needed. Now we're taking bets as to whether Sara brings what she needs to or not and we'll be prepared to cover things for her piece of the potluck. Ugh. I do have my concerns these days about mama and her lack of focus where Ava is concerned.

LG, hope your coughing is subsiding. Tickled to hear about the news you shared with Rachel's employer and the big job they won. Now that's job security for sure!! Congrats on the circuit training as well. Just be sure to listen to your body and don't overdue.

Weezie, I see you have Claire baptism this weekend. How nice. She is growing so fast. They seem to do this. I've made plans to get Kason the end of the month for the night. Enjoy the one-on-one time and he's fun at 2.

Tammy, are you done with school yet? We go til the 12th and then the summer 'fun' begins. Crazy time and loads of changes in the public schools.

PJ, you sewing at all? Enjoy the posts on FB I see you put out there on occasion.

I'm tired tonight and think I'm gonna call it a night. Co-worker is being treated for strep so I may be working later tomorrow. She starts her meds tonight but told she may have some side effects and knowing her, she's gonna use it to be off. Oh joy!! Oh well, this too is life!

Happy to see you all here and sorry I've not been here much.

Talk to you later!

Bonny, so good to see you here!! I know that you've wanted to move for a long time and I'm happy that you are getting to do it.

Sharon, my cough is much improved. Last year I had the same thing and the year before that. My doctor seems to think it is allergies. I have cough meds to take but I don't like what they do to me. I'm not coughing much at night at all. And definitely cross the legs!!

Tammy, let us know about that new quilt shop.

TB, I saw you on FB on another horse and I'm telling Red!!! emoticon emoticon

Weezie, glad you found your Omron. I still love mine after all these years. I keep saying I plan to buy a back up but never have. Maybe we should do a steps challenge???

Weezie2, that is a lot of hours but I know that people who work those hours are fine with it.
I'm sure that Kelly likes it just the way it is. Hope that you have gotten some sewing done and get that car fixed....you've got to get to Shipshe. It is only 6 weeks away!

WG, that is a lot of rain!! Hope you don't have a basement!! You could have an indoor swimming pool! We would.

PJ, glad you have a lot of choices of classes. I don't have that. A young gal who comes early in the morning does do a circuit training for us on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We did lower body this morning and my thighs are killing me!

A friend came by yesterday and I got my new program loaded onto my computer and in turn onto a "card" to use in my sewing machine. I'm anxious to get started on the blocks for the baby quilt. It is all embroidered with nursery rhymes. So cute.

Jason and Brooke are in Washington, D.C. with the 8th grade class tour. So tomorrow we are picking up Carmen and Luke in car line at school. Carmen goes to her mom and they are going to the doctor for a check up. Luke needs to go home and get ready for a baseball game. We'll get him there and then meet Stephanie and Carmen at the game.

Rachel called today to say that her company had gotten a multi-million dollar contract that she and another person had put together. She was very excited. Don't think this is their largest contract but very close.

Now I need to run.

Bonny, how nice to see you!

My DS and BIL live in Pensacola, and they are part of various walking/running groups. It is quite the community happening, and I suspect Gulf Breeze would have something like that if you were interested. DS is walking more than running these days, as her RA is advancing and she is trying to avoid further stress on her joints.

Sharon, glad to see you're still there! Sorry about the diabetes, but happy about your weight loss! I still walk a lot but nothing seems to matter - guess I just eat more!

I'm moving on June 6 to a condo that's about 1.5 miles off the beach. I have friends who live in the same complex so I know a lot of my 'future' neighbors. I have spent WEEKS going through all my JUNK, donating, giving away or just trashing 'in general.' I never knew I had so much CRAP, it's a combination of living in this condo for 20 years! I can't take it all with me and it really taxed my brain trying to figure out what to take or trash!!!

I'll try to check in tomorrow just to say HI to everybody. Take care, all!

Hugs,
Bonny

Bonny! Of course, we remember you! So glad for the update on what's going on. So you have decided to move to the Gulf Shores, yeah! It is a beautiful area to relocate. So, are you still in the market or have you found a place to move in to? When will the big relocation take place? We will be here to hear all your stories and get you back on track with losing your excess weight. Never give up. I was diagnosed as Diabetic last Oct and have since lost 50 lbs and now get over 10,000 steps a day in on average. Who would have thought!!

Good afternoon ladies. Remember me??

SURPRISE!!!!

If you haven't seen anything on FB, I wanted to let you know I'm moving from the Great State of Tennessee (born here, raised here, lived here all my life) TO the State of Alabama.....to the beach, Gulf Shores. I am excited about this move. I have wanted to do this for at least 25 years and after wintering there this past winter, I made the decision. My son, however, is not a big fan of this move, but he is getting better (I think). He, as well as my friends, is welcome to visit me but not at the same time!

I have done poorly with diet and have gained more than I want to talk about. I think I'm waiting for my mind to get 'right' before I do anything about it. Know what I mean?

I apologize that I've let Sparkpeople take a back seat in my life and promise to rejoin some of the great folks I grew to admire and respect. Once I get settled in my new digs, I will be back and hopefully do better 'healthwise' from the beach.

Hugs,
Bonny

Morning Ladies!

Not much happening here. Weather - cold front has moved in and brr....it's back to shivering once again.

Exercise - each day I struggle to get over 10,000 steps. Barely making it but I am doing it while last year at this time I was laying on the couch coughing my head off and feeling nauseous and fatigued so I am happy with my improvement!

Eating - I just can't stay under 20 net carbs any longer. I started allowing myself more carbs and it is taking a few days for my body to adjust. Once I start eating carbs all the cravings come back. I'm ignoring them and hope it subsides soon.

TB - loved the pic you posted on FB. I won't tell Red about it if you don't!

Weezie2 - car problems for a single lady is the worst! I hope you get it resolved quickly.

Tammy - enjoy your time in Branson with your friends.

WG - Pickle Ball is so popular that it is difficult to get a free court. We barely played last season. We do, however, enjoy Bocce Ball and at our age that seems safer! I hope you got dried out after your rainy evening.

Weezie - how funny you found your Omron after all this time! I enjoy my FitBit but then I always liked the Omron. If that would sync with SP like the FitBit, I never would have switched.

LG - Just a word of warning (and I'm sure you've heard it a lot already), don't let your cough continue. I did last summer for several weeks only to discover it was bronchial pneumonia which required antibiotics and steroids to get well. If you're like me, keep your legs crossed when coughing - LOL!

Good morning everyone:

I see the thread has been busy while I was off. This weekend was really busy, with riding lesson, spending time with Red, helping a friend move, and doing "stuff".

Sharon: I love the dress and you look fabulous in it. Great picture!

PJ: I agree with Tammy. I'd love to see the finished pictures of your project.

Weezie2: Kelly works a 70 hour week? I couldn't do it. emoticon

Lily: I hope your cough is better.

Weezie: What kind of furnace did you put in?

WG: I'll have to keep my eye open for a plastic snap tool. I prefer snaps over buttons unless the buttons are part of the garment design. They're certainly easier to put on; I have always found buttonholes frustrating. It seems like, if there's a way to mess one up, I'll find it.

Tammy: Did you buy anything at the quilt store?

Have a good day, everyone, and I'll talk to you soon.

"I Can't" means "I haven't learned how yet and I'm not going to try".

Finding a new quilt shop to check out is always a bonus. Driving home from South Carolina where Kelly got married, her mother in law and I checked out quite a few shops. We had more fun. I know you will too.

I'm not in the best of moods this morning. My car's check engine light came back on last night and is driving rough. Thankfully I was only a few miles from my home. I'm waiting on a call back from the guy who fixed my car less than a month ago. I'm glad this didn't happen on the road to Shipsee. Who knows maybe it's time for a new vehicle.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Hi, Seesters!

DH and I will be leaving in a couple of hours for Branson; I found out Sunday that there is a quilt shop there that I did not know about! How did that happen? emoticon

Have a good day!

Good evening Seesters from the drowned critter. It was a gully washer again tonight on the way home from work and tomorrow is trash day so I ran out with the can to the end of the driveway. The rain was coming down at about an inch every ten minutes. It was really wet and I'm very soggy. I'll dry off, though.

Gotta get to the sewing room tonight as I've got to make a "lovey" of Minky and satin for Raphael for his birthday. He loves the bigger one I made but he needs a little one for traveling. I've also got to make one for the new nephew. SIL has seen what the kids get and might be disappointed if she is treated differently. I found a cute pattern for neckerchief bibs as well. I'll try that soon.

SS, they are doing a story on Pickle Ball today. I think of you when I hear stories about this.
I do love the picture of you in the dress. It was a good choice for you and you do look great. What a boost to hear such positive words and complements.

LG, hope you feel better soon. That cough sounds miserable. If it goes on longer than 7 days, you are supposed to get a second opinion. If it is getting better, I hope you are able to bypass the second opinion.

PJ, glad you found a new class. It is fun to try something new. I agree and I'm not a big morning person, but don't like giving up my morning time for anything.

Tammy, I hope you have a good visit. I know you need a good break.

I got a plastic snap tool today. Remember when we put the metal snaps on everything? They make plastic ones now. If it works well, I'll be thrilled. If not, I've got a lot of colorful snaps that are going to be unused. I hope it works. I'd like to do it for the bibs and kid things I make.

Weezie2, our lab techs do the 7 on and 7 off schedule as well. Once they get used to it, they do well with it. It is nice to have a chunk of days off. I did 3 on 1 off, 3 on then 3 off 1 on, 3 off for several months. It was hard, but I liked feeling human.

Have a great night everyone. I've got to get to the sewing.

Hey sistas!

Thought I'd check in and share that I found my Omron. How long ago was it I lost it and couldn't find it? Well I was just down re-arranging some things in the basement and found it in the mix. Must of come off and had no idea. So I plan to charge it as it is dead as a doornail and wear it to see how it compares to my FitBit. Not that I've been doing a heck of a lot of stepping but trying to get moving.

So the new furnace and A/C are in. We've been using the A/C for the past few days but I'm sure tonight we'll test the furnace as it is to get cold and no higher than mid 50's the next few days. Gheesh! Hoping to get pool open this weekend but it may much too cold to think about using. Gotta love Michigan.

I'm so looking forward to the long weekend. Have a wedding on Sunday morning to attend which is a little different but should be fine. Very small affair. One of my knitting friends is getting married. Interesting as there is like 15 years difference in age and he is blind. I do hope it works out for them both.

Do hope you all are well. I gotta get my ironing done so enjoy the rest of your evening and week!

Kelly is a lab tech. She works at one of her local hospitals. She works 7 ten hour shifts then has the next week off. She really likes it. I couldn't do it.

We're in the mid 70's today then tomorrow it should drop to the mid 50's. It sounds like a great day to get out in the yard and try to catch up with some weeding. Later this week I'll be helping Kelly get things together for Claire's Baptism on Sunday.

I have my nephew's lacrosse game tonight then I'll be off to visit mom.

Have a Great Monday!

Tried a new fitness class this morning love the class but not crazy about the time. 10:30 am thatís the middle of the day for me. But I am going to try and make it work at least once a week its offered Monday and Wednesday.

I finished making a makeup bag to go with the purse/tote bag I made. Still too wet to mow so hopefully tomorrow afternoon before more rain that is to get here on Wednesday.

I fixed a protein shake last night using almond milk and added frozen stawberries and blueberries and some ice. This is my usual breakfast with spinach added but last night I really wanted something so I made another and split it with DH. I love them but he was not impressed.

Tammy enjoy your trip to Branson.

WG are you feeling more rested today?

LG sure hope you can get over that cough and whatever is causing that. It is funny how when you don't sit in your normal pew at church people wonder what's going on. I think everyone tries to sit in the same spot. Its that way in my exercises classes.

Didn't make it here yesterday.....Saturday all I did was putter around this house. No mojo to do anything. Thomas went to 5 p.m. Mass but I was coughing so much I figured that everyone would look at me like "what are you doing here?" So I stayed home. On Sunday morning, I was coughing so much so went to 9a.m. Mass and sat in the last pew closest to the door! Fr. Byrd asked me before Mass if I'd been demoted!! I just nodded my head!

We went to Carmen's games yesterday. They won both of them!! Then we wen to an Italian restaurant. I only ate 1/2 my meal and brought the rest home. Going to finish it tonight.

Sharon, you look fabulous, My Dear!!! It is a daily struggle. As for the puppy, I'm sure that you will "cave" pretty soon. I know that dogs are "good" for you. But Thomas isn't having it right now. Have you looked at shelters/rescue places? We have one of each here and they post pics on FB all the time.

I'm going to close for now.....SP isn't playing nice and I'm afraid I'll lose this post.

Good Morning!
A busy weekend so I am happy it's Monday and we can resume our normal relaxing retired pace. I don't know how some of you can keep up with being so busy!

Thanks everyone for your comments on my dress. I did get a lot of compliments at the wedding. Several people made a point of specifically coming over to talk to me and tell me how nice I look. My nephew said I was beautiful! I've never gotten those type of compliments before so it was fun for me. I've been struggling since I got home so this was just what I needed to give me the encouragement and motivation to keep pushing on.

Have to cut it short as Norm and I have a few errands to run this morning and he's waiting for me. Have a great day and keep Sparking on.

I watched Claire yesterday for a few hours so daddy could get a few things done around the house. He wonders why my daughter doesn't get more things done when she's home emoticon She was overtired when she got here so when she managed to relax she slept for over 2 hours. It's hard when they're little to tackle bigger projects. Hopefully dad realizes that sooner than later.

I'll be heading up to their house shortly. Kelly works 3rd and will be starting her week off but needs a few hours of sleep after finishing her 70 hour week. I'm not sure I could work her schedule but she loves it and has done it for years.

Have a Great Monday!

Lots of quick rain last night 3 Ĺ + inches in a short time. Some tornados but not in our neighborhood. Finished the placemats this morning showed DH my fabric for the card table he thinks Iím crazy but I still think it will work with the clear plastic over the fabric for the table top. We shall see not sure how soon as he still is working on painting the frame.

Pics will be posted when table and chairs get done.

Tammy thanks for the review of the onion rings I will give them a try also after going to the store

Sharon you look fantastic. I know the bride was the center of attention as she should have been but I bet you turned a few heads too. What a wonderful surprise for the groom. Just a fairytale story all the way around. Sounds like Norm needs a puppy just to get him back walking again. I know you two will find the right match in a new one.

Good Morning!

The sun is shining here! I'm going to finish up my Sparking and head out for a walk!
Not much going on today. Rest and relax after our family wedding which was such a fun and wonderful family event. We are all so happy for Renee. In one year she has went from being lonely and wishing for a family to having her twins and the love of her life! The highlight of the evening was Renee flew in the groom's brother as a surprise. He's in the military and stationed in Seattle, WA. It's been 4 yrs since they have seen each other. There wasn't a dry eye in the place! As promised, here is a picture of me in my dress:

Tammy - One thing I really miss is onion rings. I know Hungry Girl has a recipe made from FiberOne cereal. I'll have to check out the recipe on SP. I'm glad you survived the tornado warning without incident. I hope the severe weather moves out. I see I better enjoy our sun this morning as we have more rain and colder weather headed our way as well.

PJ - I'm pretty sure we'll end up with a puppy and probably sooner than I would like! At least Norm has agreed to take our time to find a good match for us. We want a small dog that doesn't require a lot of exercise. They're out there if we do our research! Norm firmly believes he wants a puppy as we've always had our best experiences with young puppies. That way he can train them from the get go. I can't argue with him as he's always trained our dogs well and we always get comments on how well behaved our dogs have been. So the saga goes on and on. I don't have the problem of walking the dog as Norm did all the walking with Bailey and I would encourage him to again. He is supposed to walk every day because of his heart and walking Bailey was a daily thing. Now he doesn't walk anymore!

WG - you are a wise mother and grandmother! I am sure your DS appreciates your helping hand during this difficult time in his life and yet you give him the time and space he needs when necessary. One question, do your kids and GK's come home on Sundays every week? Is it just an open invitation? My Grandmother had an open invitation for anyone in the family to come for lunch on Saturdays. Some weeks there might be 5-6, other weeks might have 20 show up. Everyone that came would bring something to add to the meal. It was fun and kept the family together during both good and bad times.

Hi, Seesters!

I slept through a tornado warning last night; my first clue was when I looked at my cell phone for the time when I awoke and had a text from DS from two hours prior. WOW! I think perhaps we may be forecasted for more storms today.

PJ, we need a picture of the finished project, please.

I prepared baked onion rings yesterday evening - a Spark recipe - and Joe pronounced them "perfect" with the first bite. I shall be making more, as I bought a ten pound bag of the Vidalias from the Shriners. I am sure some will be chopped and frozen as well.

Perhaps I will hibernate in the She Cave today.

Have a good day, Seesters!

Just got home from dads. There were dirty clothes in the basket so for now I guess my sign worked.

I also stopped at Joanns emoticon and bought some binding to finish some last minute placemats for the kids using the last few inches of the chair fabric I had. Alos got material for a kids table and chairs. DH finally got around to sandblasting and painting the frames of the set my brother and I used when we were little. I found some bright green marine vinyl for the chairs and am using a cotton blend for the table top that is a really bright many colored print and bought clear plastic to put over the fabric so it will be spill proof. I have wanted this project done for quit some time.

We are to get more storms later today and tonight our power was only off a few hours yesterday.

Good morning Seesters. It is rainy and the Dragon had a game. DS didn't tell me until the game was half over so I didn't go. I'm debating going to the next one. I haven't heard from him about that. His wife and Cinderella are in AZ visiting her sister. Cinderella who turns 7 in 2 weeks is getting her ears pierced.

Princess Purple is visiting today. She and her daddy had a sleepover. It was fun and she has been an angel so far. I didn't do much with them as this is their time so I've kept a low profile. They need to work out the relationships before I insert myself in any way. I've plenty to do.

SS, I agree the dog should be a joint decision. I'm sure you will find one you enjoy when it is time. I'm an "animal shelter" kind of dog person so I don't worry about the ages all that much. The dog I have now was given to me by a patient as the dog didn't fit into their lives. She was a wild child and is still a puppy at heart but I've enjoyed her.

Enjoy the wedding. That is magical that they met at this time in their lives. I'm so happy for them and that you get to share this day with them.

TB, enjoy your riding lesson. I agree about the fabric thing. I'm sure when you get closer to fall you will find the perfect project for winter. Until then, enjoy Red and your adventures in the horse riding world. I think the clinic sounds fun. Even if it isn't exactly what you are doing, it is often surprising where we pick up the best hints.

I've got a collection as I've not been getting to the sewing as quickly as I'd like. now I've got a couple of things I want to make for the nephew. I've got fabric for a minky "silky" blanket like I made for the last batch of grands left over and can get that together quickly. They are so nice and cuddly.

LG, so glad you are feeling more human. It is nasty when you feel under the weather. It is so unlike you and I'm sure frustrating for you as well. Sewing sounds perfect.

Tammy, the smoked pork sounds great. I'm glad it is done. Sometimes people have different clocks when it comes to doing tasks. I'm sure he will do better next time. Visiting the friend and your favorite quilt shop sounds fun. Summer vacation is truly here for you.

Weezie2, having Claire for the week sounds like a wonderful thing. The bonding and holding is magical. Of course, nothing else gets done but she is a baby for such a short time.

Today is DD#2's birthday. I need to at least call her. Then this evening I'm picking up DD#1 at the airport. They went to California and Oregon for a graduation trip for SIL who finished Pharmacy school. Of course, there is shopping for dinner tomorrow. It is either lasagna or soup tomorrow as we won't be grilling in the rain.

Have a wonderful day. I'll try to check in later.

Hello!

Busy day as today is the day of our big wedding in the family. I'll be sure and have someone snap my picture when I get all dolled up this afternoon.

Norm agrees that the whole puppy thing was a scam! Thank you Lord! However, it made me realize just how much he misses having a dog and it's just a matter of time. I'll hold him off as long as I can but it might not be as long as I would like! We are leaning towards a Yorkiepoo but nothing definite yet on a breed. I just hate the thought of getting a new puppy but I have convinced Norm this time it must be a joint decision. I think the reason I always called Bailey Norm's dog is because I had no say in it. He just announced we were getting her. So - no puppy right now and I'm good with that!

LG - I am sorry to say my weight is up 1 lb from last week. We did go out to Chili's with friends last night so I am hoping it's the sodium from a restaurant meal. Yesterday morning I reached a new low and overnight it jumped up that's why I think (& hope) it is from sodium.

Good morning....it's rainy here too, Weezie2! So I plan to work in my sewing room also. We were supposed to go to Jason/Stephanie's today and work outside and help them get some stuff done. But the rain put a stop to that. I really have no business doing it anyway. I'm beginning to feel like a human again and I don't need any set backs.

Weezie2, glad you got to spend time with Claire. It's important. And your parties sound great too. We'll have just Brooke's.

Tammy, your smoked pork sounds yummy!

Went to the farmer's market this morning and got cauliflower, broccoli, & onions. Was going to buy some flowers but didn't see anything I liked. Guess I'll head to the greenhouse on Monday.

Tomorrow Carmen has her last AAU basketball games. Then Brooke starts. Luke has a baseball game on Wednesday evening.

Oh, Sharon, how did your WI go? I lost a pound so I'm emoticon

Good morning, all:

Lily: I'm the same way with heels; love wearing them (wore them to work all the time), but after 5 years of retirement I'm way out of practice. The highest heels I wear these days are the ones on my cowboy boots.

WG: Congrats on the new nephew. That's quite an age difference between the mom and dad; we don't see those unions very often but it's pretty cool when we see the relationships work.

Sharon: I'll be interested to hear what happens with the puppies. I bet your instincts are bang on.

Tammy: Enjoy your visit with your friend and the new, improved quilt shop. A friend of mine just opened her own shop last week. I'll have to stop by at some point over the next few days. The pics look really nice. I probably won't buy much, this time, because I don't want to start another project until fall and if I buy new fabric I will want to.

I'll be leaving, shortly, for a riding lesson at Stable #2. I don't think I'll be taking lessons at Penny's this year because I want to concentrate specifically on some of the more advanced western skills. She would do her best but her specialty really is in English, specifically jumping.

Next Sunday a friend and I are going to watch a games clinic (barrel racing, that kind of thing). That should be fun. I enjoy auditing clinics; I learn so much by watching how other people deal with the issues. I don't forsee a future in gaming for me and Red but I'm sure I'll learn something I can use with him.

Have a good day, everyone, and I'll talk to you soon.

"I Can't" means "I haven't learned how yet and I'm not going to try".

Good morning,

I had little Claire all week so I didn't get much else done but she's worth it.

Tonight is the first graduation party of the year. I should have 3 to go to this year. My sister will probably have just one for her kids, Her oldest graduates from college, her middle child from high school.

It should be raining on and off all weekend so I'll be catching up on a few things inside and I hear my sewing machine calling my name emoticon

Have a Great Saturday!

Hi, Seesters!

Here it is Saturday again...how did that happen?

We have a smoked pork loin in the fridge for meals this weekend; it wasn't done in time yesterday, so we shall enjoy it today. As I wasn't the "cook", I didn't supervise/make suggestions about timing/etc. emoticon

I found out two nights ago that friends from Dallas will be in Branson this next week, so we are going down. The quilt shop that I enjoyed visiting there has moved to a new/bigger location and I am anxiously awaiting visiting.

Have a good day. Hello to all!

Thanks for all the good wishes.....I'm doing better...coughing less and sleeping much better. So I think I'm on the mend. I think it is bronchitis.

Sharon, I think I'd be leery of "transaction" myself. Doesn't sound right. I've been looking at a Labradoodle. A woman not far from here breeds them and you have to go thru an adoption process. Thomas says NO. He doesn't want a dog again for now since we are doing more traveling. Glad that your dinner with your friend was a success.

Tammy, I'm sure that you'll enjoy your summer break. You always seem to have a lot of "pots" going at the same time!! Sewing, reading, yard work, etc. Keeps you busy!

TB, I love wearing heels. But after about 2 hours I'm ready to get out of them. When I worked (years ago!) we wore nothing but heels. I wore heels to church on Easter and then wore them until after we'd eaten and then got them off! At our last family wedding, we all took sandals to the reception. After a while we took off the heels and put on the sandals!! Much more comfortable.

WG, that is awesome about the new nephew! I have a cousin who got the surprise of his life. He remarried a woman 20 years younger then himself. He is 61 and has a new baby. She thought she was going thru menopause!

PJ, hope that your weather has improved. It has been raining off and on here today. The sun is shining right now.

We are going to Jason and Stephanie's tomorrow. Thomas and Jason are working in their yard. Don't know that I'll be able to do too much. Baked some cookies to take. I'll probably just "supervise"!!

Good Morning!
Another good and rainy day! They keep saying it's going to get warm for a few days before the next cold front but it ain't happening!

My dinner with my GF was nice. I ate a 7oz sirloin with a house salad and steamed broccoli and my weight was down this morning! We had a good Gab Fest and fortunately the restaurant was not busy so we sat for almost three hours!

Norm is busy communicating about a new Yorkie puppy. I think it's a scam and told him so. We'll see what develops. The couple live in AZ and want to ship the puppies (yes, two of them) to us free. Why??? I ask! I'm sure if they have registered Yorkie's that they are looking to give to a good home for free, they wouldn't have to advertise in MI! It doesn't make sense to me!

Tammy - I hope you are busy enjoying your summer break. I hope it's a little warmer where you live than here!

LG - hope you are feeling better today. Do you have the spring cold that is rampant here in MI or a sinus infection. Either way, you sound miserable.

TB - I hear you on the "heels". Our family wedding is tomorrow and I opted to get Wedge sandals. They are dressy without being too high. I hope my feet don't kill me!

WG - We have had several dogs get Valley Fever, especially the sniffing breeds. I some times wonder if that isn't what did Bailey in, especially now that Norm has been verified as having a strain of the fever as well. Perhaps some thing they picked up on their morning walks. We'll never know but I do wonder.

Good evening Seesters. The kids were here when I got home so we visited a bit. DS #1 was doing some things for me.

Had an interesting message last night. My brother added Bob III to my Google circle. My brother is Bob Jr. They have been gone for months and I'm sure they were waiting for a big surprise and they had one.

I have a new nephew. Father will turn 68 next month and mother is 34. There are exactly 34 years between each of them which is sort of fun to think about.

Tammy, glad you got to read. I love the escape and calm I get. Enjoy your summer break.

LG, hope you feel better soon.

SS, glad Norm's tests were good. They had Valley Fever when I lived in California. I think it is in the soil but the winds can spread it as well. It is so miserable and there are several strains of it. I think it is treatable but hard to do so.

PJ, i agree that the blankets need to stay. I'm sure they will be getting done soon. With summer around the corner, it isn't as big a deal to have the blankets just yet.

TB, I agree about heels. It is funny how we get in a rut. Since I don't enjoy them at all, I've stopped wearing them.

I'm off to bed. Busy day. Short staffed. They quit paying overtime to people who come in extra. Surprise! No takers any more.

Have a great day all.

PJ: I agree - fleece and sanding don't mix well.

Tammy: I'm glad to hear that you are able to get back into your yoga program. Yoga looks so easy - but it's not! I remember coming home from class with my muscles a quivering mess. I think that's the first time I understood the term "legless", although that usually refers to someone who has had many drinks too many. But that's how it felt to me.

Lily: We had the same experience as you - it was so humid (the temps weren't too bad but the air was so thick I felt like I could bite chunks out of it) that we turned the GT to 'cool'. Within 24 hours I turned the heat back on emoticon

Thank you, all, for the lovely comments on my dress and hair. I laughed when one of my FB friends posted something like "I've never seen that outfit at the barn. You clean up real good." The only thing I miss about working is the excuse/reason to wear nice things ... although, Mr. TB assures me that he's more than happy to take me any place that warrants the costume. I think the main thought running through my mind when the picture was taken was "my feet really hurt". I guess I'm out of practice at wearing heels ... emoticon

I spent several hours with Red today. The weather was lovely - sunny, warm, with enough of a breeze to blow the blackflies away. This is probably the last day we'll be able to work outside without slathering ourselves with fly goop. I'm so glad the blackflies only have a 2-3 week life span. Now, I pray for several days of really hot weather to hatch the dragonflies ... bon appetit' little dragonflies.

Hello, ladies......

I didn't get here yesterday. Carmen's class put on a play and it was so cute. We didn't get home until late and I had coughed all day. Took some meds before bed and slept most of the night and got up this morning at normal time and felt pretty good. Went to the gym but the longer I was there the worse I felt. So came home and piled up on the couch and slept. On top of all of that I've had a headache for 2 days. So I've nothing today. Slept off and on and hoping that I feel better tomorrow.

Sharon, glad that Norm's test came back OK. Hate that your weather has been so rotten. We've had to turn our heat back on. The house got down to 65 and to me that just isn't comfortable.

Tammy, glad that you took time to read. I find that to helps me de-stress. Enjoy!

TB, love the new look. That dress is awesome!!

Weezie, I like your hair either way. You look great no matter what!! I know that you'll enjoy sister camp and then comes Shipshe!! Can't wait. I'm saving all my money!!

emoticon to everyone else. I'm heading back to the couch.

Hi, Seesters!

My first day of summer break, and I did well this morning on my To Do list, but not as well this afternoon as I decided to finish a book. That's what summer is for, though, right? I was just feeling VERRRY cranky - probably from a bit of stress that I can do nothing about - so decided that finishing that book was a good thing to do, and it was. I got up later and finished my fitbit goal. Now Joe and I are going to have leftovers; I am glad he doesn't mind. He is smoking a pork loin tomorrow if weather permits and that will be delicious I think.

I was most proud of starting out my day with yoga stretches - I had not done any this entire year and had even blogged about that being one of my goals. This is the first day all year I have done so. I also worked seriously on a piano piece that I've just been rushing through with no progress. There was NO sewing done, but there is always tomorrow and the rest of the weekend.

TB, the essential oils that I mentioned, Peace & Calming and Stress Relief, are from Young Living. It seemed that YL and Doterra were mentioned a lot as I researched over the past months. The fact that my cousin was "liking" or sharing things about essential oils led me to ask her about them. I do believe that I sleep much better. I rub just a few drops on the soles of my feet, close to my toes, and then enjoy the fragrance. When my friend/colleague that I shared with had the same experience, I was so pleased. She had had insomnia problems as long as I have known her - 15 years at least. She was quite skeptical but was willing to try, and I didn't mind sharing with her just in case it would help, and she is very pleased with the results.

I should go warm up those leftovers...have a good evening!

Good Afternoon!

We had a sunny morning so I took advantage and spent some time outside. Now the clouds are moving in along with more rain.

My GF that moved to The Villages in FL is flying home for a short visit. I am meeting her tonight at Applebee's for dinner. That will be fun to see her again.

PJ - I don't blame you for holding back the fleece blankets. I hope your DS and her finance are decent housekeepers so things don't get wrecked. My DS and DIL are neat as can be. My DD's house is a disaster, not dirty just messy with all the chaos of 5 kids and 4 pets!

TB - I'm assuming the infection was airborne. The doctor said Norm probably thought he just had a cold when he actually had the infection. I don't know about this particular infection but I know Valley Fever can be caught from the soil. They tell you not to dig in the dirt!

A cloudy rainy day here so its been an inside day. DS came over so I sent the chair cushions, a wall clock, and an old quilt home with them. I still have the fleece blankets I made for the boys, but they are staying here until there room is completely done and painted. I don't want them in their room until all that sanding etc is done. Since they are using the chairs at their dining room table I let them take those.

Sharon: Great news re Norm's health. Do you have any idea how he could have contracted such an infection - is it airborne etc.?

Weezie: You with long hair?!? I can only imagine you with 'short and spiky'. An updated profile pic is definitely in order.

PJ: Pushing the lawn mower is (without a doubt) great exercise ... aerobic, ST, balance, the whole nine yards.

WG: I hope things settle down with your DS and DIL, at least for a while. What an incredibly stressful situation!

Tammy: I'll be interested to hear how your sleeping issues work out. As you know, insomnia has long been my nemesis.

Hello to SEK, Carol, Weezie2 and anybody I've missed.

Have a good evening, all.

Good afternoon ladies,

Just in from helping DH with mowing the lawn. I choose to do the push mower for the exercise as well. Besides, I can't handle the rider. It is too hard to steer for me. So it was fine and cooler here today so I was able to last longer than I would normally.

WG, the classes I took don't do a whole lot for me unless I choose to move to another school. It looks good on paper. The boss hasn't given notice yet and I don't think she plans to work once she retires. She is getting things in order which is most obvious. So we'll see. In the meantime, she has been most pleasant which is scary after all the grief she has caused over the years. We will see a lot of cuts of the 'little' people (i.e. parapros primarily) and additional teachers. Guess the Governor has decided that parapros are not effective to some of the State funding can no longer be gotten unless a 'certified' teacher is doing the job. So these ladies will be displaced and a few may survive but with less hours and different jobs which they likely won't care for. I suspect several will say forget it and some will just be out of a job. Sorta sad.

I need to get my head in action and get to my sewing room. I am struggling currently to get overly motivated to do anything and my weight shows it as well. I'm trying to dig myself out and up! Sorry I've been MIA ladies but I tend to steer clear of the computer as of late.

I'm ready for the holiday weekend and then next month 'sister' camp and then Shipshewanna. It will be nice to get a break.

TB, loved the new profile photo as well. I really should do an update. My hair is LONG. Had to believe I know and it has been eons since I've had it this long but for some reason I want to have a pony tail. Weird.

SS, good new about Norm indeed. How nice of him to bring something back from AZ. NOT!!! Will keep in my prayers as well.

Weezie, enjoy Clare. She'll be grown in no time.

PJ, love the photo on FB of your flowers.

To you all - I hope life is good and will check back again soon!

Sharon glad to hear about Norm's results.

WG that's my exercise the days I mow. The front alone (which is all I do) pushing takes about 75 minutes.

Nothing has changed with Norm's mass in his lungs. So if it's the same next year, we will be home free. From the blood work, they know it is from a bacterial virus, similar to Valley Fever. I guess it's a souvenir of our winters in AZ.

Good aftrenoon Seesters. Quiet day here today. DS left for work and his wife took him to the train. He went to her house last night for a while. The wife of the "other man" who used to be a best friend came into the neighborhood and deliberately didn't talk to DIL. wonder why?

It is interesting how many of the things she is doing are the same things my ex did when he was cheating on me.

DS #1 will be by later today. I got a TV. I needed a bigger one to fit int the room and since DS is here, I needed it sooner than later. He adopted the cheap one that I had in my sewing room. I like to watch old movies while sewing. Something entertaining but not absorbing.

Tammy, hope the kids did well on the final. I'm sorry you didn't have more time to do things while waiting. I believe there is room for non traditional medicine in conjunction with regular medicine. I'm glad this is helping your sleep. That and the improved weather/longer days usually helps a lot.

PJ, I love your yard. It is lovely. I can't imagine mowing all that yard, though. And with a push mower! I hope you find a better class to attend next time. More knitting. Sounds fun. I'm nowhere near stocking stage, but am having fun. Didn't do any last night, but will tonight.

SS, hope Norm gets a good report from the CT. It is sometimes more precautionary. I'm sure the sodium will be gone before the next WI.

TB, love the hair and dress. What a cutie. I agree that Red is good for your figure.

Gotta run and take care of the dandelion field in the front yard. Have a great day all.
