Well the scale was up a bit Less than a pound from the last challenge. So not too bad.

I have been reorganizing and cleaning out the She Cave since I inherited a dresser and storage cabinet. I got rid of some things and organized others. Now to get rid of a piece of furniture. As soon as it is dry enough we will put it out at the road marked FREE and someone will snatch it up.

Weez not surprised about you cutting your hair. I have done that so many times then wonder why I grew it out. I think I will be sticking to short hair from now on.

Good Afternoon
I love my walking and I enjoy reaching my goal most days but it really does take a lot of time out of my day. I am trying to walk 1,000 steps every hour so I get 10 out of 10 on the Hourly Activity. So far today I'm right on schedule.

I'm been to the grocery store and got what I need to make my dessert. Instead of just strawberries, I am going to add some blueberries so it will be red, white and blue for the Holiday! So as soon as I've got my Sparking done, I'm going to make it.

LG - I agree, I wish SP would fix the sideway pictures instead of stuff like changing our Spark Pages! I know you're busy today but if it's sideways, you can click on the picture and Save As to your pictures. Then you can rotate and save it. It's a bunch of huey because you don't have to mess with it on FB. Have fun with the family tonight.

Weezie - have fun with the girls. I'm glad you are getting a little time with them. I can relate to the ugly challenge pictures. You can see I've gotten quite the roll around my midriff. I am hoping to have a lot of it gone by the time we meet in Shipshee.

Tammy - thanks for sharing your story with us. I am impressed! To be honest, I can't even remember most of my teacher's names. To think they went to those lengths to find you says a lot about who you are. I am sorry for the death in the family. It does make the Holiday weekend less fun.

PJ - the new Shark sounds perfect for you and the trailer. I may end up getting one for the MH. I just am getting tired of buying doubles for the MH because I know our time is limited for the MH. Not today or tomorrow but not that far in the future. Norm turns 70 on June 1st. We see a lot of our friends sell their RV's around their mid 70's and that's not too far down the road anymore.

Weezie2 - I know Norm is an adult and suffering bad this year with his allergies. I can only imagine it's worse on the little ones. Sorry Kami is suffering.

Got a couple of hours before all hell breaks lose with the grandkids coming!! Actually, I'm very happy to have them. It's just so much more when they are all here.

It's a bit warm here today and our AC came on. About 85. Can't work out in it but could be out there.

Weezie, glad that you got both of the girls. I know that you will enjoy them. I too usually eat my breakfast early and I usually eat lunch at 11:30. So about 9 I have a granola bar or some fruit. Holds me till I eat lunch.

PJ, love your picture and I agree with Weezie....you are so cute!!

Weezie2, allergies are nothing to ignore. Jason had trouble breathing at night and it was scary. He's also allergic to bees. But hasn't carried an Epi-pen in years. Probably needs to do that again.

SS, got my weight posted and a picture that came out sideways. I wish that SP would fix that problem. It's a pain and I couldn't change it. Thanks for all your hard work for this challenge.

I did work on the bag some last night but didn't get it done. It'll be late next week before I get back to it.

Don't know if I shared....Sharynn has asked me to work 2 days a week so starting Tuesday I'll be working Tuesdays and Wednesdays. That Thomas told a friend that if he could just get me to work the other 3 days, he'd buy a bass boat! He's nuts!!

Got to run. Laundry is done.

Good afternoon all,

Tammy, what a nice story you shared and it should make you feel good. Clearly you made an impression during a very difficult time of time. Kudos. Sorry about the losing of an aunt and having to attend a funeral. Never fun but you do have a new baby to smile about for sure.

PJ, you are so cute. Loved your photos out on the RV site. You are the height my mama was but I think she ended up about 4'9". Her sister even shorter. Growing older isn't for sissies that's for sure and you look fabulous!!!

Weezie, sorry about Kami and allergies. I think Kellan has them and his mama is going to talk to the doc. His breathing at night is very labored and he doesn't sleep well. Poor kids.

SS, thanks for all your hard work on the RV team. This is going to be fun or I should add my head is where it needs to be to partake. Been awhile but feels good to finally have my wits about me.

LG, hope your bag came together for you if you worked on it. I know the grands are coming tonight so you'll be busy.

So it ends up I won't be childless this weekend. Ava is coming tonight and managed to arrange, I think at this point in time, some Mya time. Hoping to keep them overnight and they can play tomorrow. They won't be here til later tonight. Ava is with her aunt at the lake so I was happy to get her at all.

I am back to logging my food. Really working on getting off the diet soda again and likely will have some headache issues the next couple of days. Hoping to find an 'alternative' to address those so I can avoid the soda. I believe it will help curb the sweet tooth. I gotta try.

So I posted God awful photos of before out on the RV thread. I'm committed to work harder this time but did decide the hair is coming off. A cut and color is on the horizon for later this week.

SO the mail is arriving and I need to go address it. Waiting for a piece of fabric from Spoonflower as DH designed some fabric to have his chair reupholstered in. We'll see how it looks and if the quality of fabric will be sufficient. I'll share as well.

WG, hope you're well and not having to work all weekend.

Gotta scoot. Enjoy ladies!

HI, Seesters!

Baby Luke arrived about 8 a.m. yesterday and big brother Liam seemed pretty happy with hi after insisting he was getting a sister. Lol. Our time at the hospital seemed to go well.

DH had an aunt pass away and the funeral is Sunday in northern MO - we shall drive up and back the same day. We are leaving in the RV on Tuesday and coming back Saturday to a state trout park about an hour away. My BF will be there for part of that.

There will be a repeat of the lunch with the former colleague. It was interesting. We share a same rural church background; in fact my former FIL was the pastor there part of the time. She had some interesting things she chose to tell me after all those years. I think she is one who holds on to hurts for years. Some people do. She isn't happy with her life at 65 - she described me as skinny ( all I could think about was the 30# I've put back on since reaching goal), herself as fat, floating from one post retirement job to another, "loves but doesn't always like" her "controlling" husband, etc. Perhaps our visit was a change for her and helped.

I must share how she came to find me - I had thought that it was one of those Suggested Friends things on FB, but it was a former high school student of mine, who graduated in 1987, who had asked others if they knew where I was. I had remarried, of course, and maintained very few ties with the area. The student began to search for folks in southwest MO with my former last name and came across my son on one of the address search engines where it lists other family and there I was.

This student then sent me a private FB message, stating she was trying to contact her former high school math teacher who had played the piano at her wedding. She had to tell me her maiden name and then a few pieces began to fall into place.

She was looking for me to tell me thank you for different things. It seems I tutored her in her college math class, which I don't remember her specifically, but I did do a lot of that. I remember playing the piano at several weddings at the time, but not in the chapel on the army base close by. I felt really bad about her needing to remind me of so much stuff, but after some thought, I realized DS was born in early 1987, DD was born, and by late 1989 I was a single parent. Add all this to being a teacher in a small town where your deceased FIL had been the pastor of the little Baptist church, and it's a wonder I remember anything.

Anyway, it was a great blessing to be found in this situation.

Have a good evening.

More rain last night we are so soaked around here. Hope we can go a couple of days with no rain so we can get things mowed again. Went to doctor this morning and he recommended melatonin for my sleeping issues and also a Rx to take if I have a really bad stressful day. I plan to use today and tomorrow to get some work done here in the house organizing and cleaning in the She Cave. We will decorate on Tuesday all but the fresh flowers and cakes that will be done on Friday afternoon. That will empty a whole corner up in the dining room. Yea

I was pleasantly surprised at the scale this morning at doctors office down just a bit. But also shrank more in height. Down to 4í11Ē. My motherís genes are really starting to show on me. She did the same thing as she aged. The doctor did say he does not think I have sleep apnea just from looking at me and knowing how well I take care of myself. Says if pills donít help my sleep to come back in a month and we will start the process of insurance approval to have an at home sleep study done. I also started swishing with coconut oil once a day. It is supposed to really help with dental issues like flossing only better. But if anyone tries it be sure and spit out the oil and not swallow it. You take about a tsp and let it melt in your mouth and swish it around really energetically then spit it out.

Sharon we finally unpacked the vacuum last night. It did a terrific job at sucking up dirt. A little awkward because it is different. It wonít stand upright on its own as it is top heavy and emptying the dirt cup is a bit messy but I do think I will like it and it will take up less room in the trailer. Frank was impressed with how powerful it was.

Love the pic of your GS and his gf.

We're already at 78 with thunderstorms predicted this afternoon. It is real muggy out. I almost finished planting the flowers and veggies I picked up yesterday. I just need 3 large pots and dirt for my pumpkins and cantaloupe and that should be it for me. Now I just need to keep it weeded and watered.

I think I will clean up and go visit mom. I'm not sure if I'll have Kami tonight or not. She's been sick all week. Her Dr has her on allergy meds and is continuing her inhaler. I figured that she had allergies but I don't know the connection between that and running a fever unless something else is going on too.

Have a Great Friday!

WOW!! Very chatty here.....I love it. I was so tired last night that I just came in put my sewing machine in the dining room and went to bed!

WG, I'm working on a bag (purse). Weezie1 & 2 and I bought the pattern in Shipshe last year and I want to get it done before we go again this year. We have such a good time at the sewing circle and the gals all help each other. Hope that your DS makes it home without you having to fly there with his DL!

Sharon, sure wish I could cut out the sugar all together but my gut goes haywire with out it. I do cut back & I need to that again. Thanks for taking this challenge on again! Great picture of your GS & GF.

Weezie2, sorry about the SIL with the job. Sucks for sure.

Weezie1, hope that you get lots of things accomplished this weekend.

Tammy, enjoy your weekend and hope that all works out with the SD.

PJ, sorry about the teeth issues. Nothing worse!

emoticon to everyone. I have to get the church laundry ironed. I made rolls and blueberry muffins and tomorrow I'll make more rolls and an apple cake. Got to the grocery store but forgot a couple of items but I also didn't pick up my prescription. Brain isn't functioning! What will it be like after this weekend????

Morning!
It ended up being 9:45 last night by the time we got seated at Logans, What a madhouse. Seems we weren't the only one there celebrating Graduations,. At that time of night, I just ordered a House Salad. However I did eat a few peanuts which put me at 26 net carbs for the day!

Here is a picture of my GS and his GF who also graduated last night.

WG - I was not offended in the least that I didn't go to the graduation. There was over 500 in the class and those that went said it went on and on! Sorry you DS left the license at the airport. Yikes, I'll be praying he can get back home without it.

Today is not going to be so social for us. Norm is out working until it gets too warm. He's usually home in time for lunch. Then we are going to Menard's to get hinges and door handles for the new cubbie. I'll wait until it's done before I share a picture of it. Just letting you know we are progressing and I'm loving it!

Hi Dear Seesters.

I worked today and it was busy but not crazy. One more day and I'm off the weekend but not the holiday. I do get paid well for working the holiday, though.

Youngest DS went to Montana on business and left his drivers license at the airport here. It will be interesting seeing if he gets home. I got a card today telling me it is at the airport and DS is stuck there trying to figure out how to get home. Hopefully TSA will accept his other forms of ID.

I realized at some point today that it was the anniversary of my father's death. 49 years gone is a long time. Not a sad day, just one for remembering.

Weezies, do you want any patterns/kits or just certain ones. I did find a couple last year and could visit again. Not a big deal either way, though.

Weezie1, glad graduation went well. Princess Sofia didn't do her part at graduation, nor did she sing any of the songs. She just wasn't feeling it. She does both all the time when no one is watching. Shyness isn't a big deal. Kids grow and learn to be safer in new situations. I have a daughter who still is very shy. Interesting to see her child who is also pretty reserved.

Tammy, WTG on new shoes. Happy is always a good feeling. I'm glad you found some shoes that sing to your heart. How fun to find an old friend so close. I'm sure you will enjoy that. Hope the time with SD works out and is peaceful.

Is the new baby here yet?

Weezie2, that's too bad your son isn't even being considered for the job. Sounds like they are just "going through the motions" of posting but have already picked a replacement. Not legal but done all the time.

LG, enjoy sewing circle. Hope you finish the Mondo bag.

SS, sounds like you are feeling a lot better as well. Sorry you didn't make the cut for the graduation but except for watching the GS "walk" the rest can be pretty boring. Enjoy dinner.

Enjoy your weekend. I'm hoping to get some "junk" out of the garage as some people get their stuff out so I can use the garage again. I hate not having it available an it's been way too long.

Have fun everyone.

Weezie - I follow a Low Carb/High Fat diet which is basically Atkins. You can check it out at Atkins.com. I also Like & Follow a group page on Facebook called Low Carb Eating. They post lots of motivation and ideas for recipes. They also have all the information you need to start. Several of us follow it in FB - PJ, TC and myself that I'm aware of. They promote under 20 net carbs a day. I am doing that this week just to get me in Ketosis so my body starts burning my fat stores. Then I find I lose just as well if I stay 20-40 net carbs a day. If I can help answer any specific questions, send the questions to me and I'll do my best to answer. I am very carb sensitive so it works for me. It's not for some who say they can't give up the carbs.

Evening all,

Well I was out weed whacking and pulling weeds and my arms feel like jelly and am shaky so typing this is quite interesting.

SS, sorry you weren't able to get tickets for graduation but nice you'll still be able to meet after. I bet graduation will take awhile.

I got to go to Kellan's pre-school graduation. The little guy does NOT like to be in front of people. The fact he stood up there and didn't have a meltdown was good for him. I guess during the practicing he just sat on the floor and refused to participate. They will have fun with him I'm sure. He also went for his kindergarten testing and was fine. Went with the teacher without a problem so it is the anxiety of large groups for him. They are all uniquely different. So I got a 2 hour lunch today. Not all bad. LOL

Weezie, sorry about your SIL and the job thing. IT works like this everywhere. Gary has seen it and is witnessing now with the poor health of his supervisor and things shuffling. One of his co-workers thought he might be able to move on up but they too are playing games. Lots of disgruntled folks. Never understand why they treat good employees this way. Also will keep my eye out for patterns for the row-by-row.

LG, glad you feel like a new woman and I'm sure you enjoyed sewing circle. What did you work on?

Thanks Tammy. Yes, just the kit for the row-by-row works and I would hope they'd still have some in July. Just let me know and I'll get $$ off to you.

Yesterday felt like Friday and so I'm glad tomorrow IS Friday. IT seems we'll be without any Ava this weekend so we're gonna work around here. I think Saturday is pitting the garage and cleaning. I have made a couple of calls about getting rid of the piano so I hope that comes together. Pool is nearly ready too so we're getting there. We could spend all our waking hours in the yard but, neither of us are really yard folks. We do what we must!

I'm gearing up for the challenge that is starting and I too am going to work on my sugar consumption. SS, is there a guidelines that you use or that you know is recommended? Homework on the horizon for me and planning, planning, planning. This won't be easy but I gotta try.

Now I need a shower and more water. The heat is hard on me.

Hope you all had a lovely day!

Good Evening
Once again, another fun yet busy day. We started off with community coffee then we drove out to Ottawa Beach State Park to visit some friends that are staying at the beach this whole week. We had a very enjoyable day with them.

Now we're home waiting for a phone call from our DD. Her stepson graduation is tonight. We didn't make the cut for tickets but we are all getting together at Logan's Steakhouse when it's over. It could be as late as 9pm as he has a large graduating class (thus the limited tickets). So Norm and I won't be eating much. Perhaps a dinner salad but I'm not eating a heavy sitting steak before I go to bed!

LG - have fun at your sewing circle tonight!

Weezie2 - sorry for your son. I had that happen once and my boss said it would be too expensive to replace in the position I was working. Didn't seem fair then and it's not fair now. Yes, we got some rain and thunder last night but not nearly enough as the yards are browning up from the hot sun the last few days. I guess I'm never happy!

Tammy - I haven't made the dessert yet. I have to make it for our Memorial Day Dinner on Sunday. I'll be sure and let you know. I did see someone on FB made it. I was pleased to see hers looked just like the original picture. She said it was wonderful. I thought I would add a few blueberries on top. Then it will be red, white and blue for the Holiday!

Weezie - The worst of the detox is behind me. My sugar cravings have gone and in fact so has most of my hunger. I get hungry at meal time but even that is not like it was. We went to lunch with our friends at the beach and I had a grilled chicken breast, california blend veggies and a dinner salad with Blue cheese dressing. The only thing I missed was the roll but I felt good walking out and knowing I ate low carb.

PJ - I checked out your new vacuum and I think you made the right choice. Mine is rather large and I didn't take it with me last winter now that we don't have all the dog hair to clean up ( the best thing about Nala is no shedding). In fact, I showed your model to Norm last fall and said that's what I need in the MH. I'm concerned how heavy the stick is to actually move around so I'll be waiting for your review. I'm glad they are keeping you on top of your dad's health. Sounds like they are watching him closely. I truly am sorry about your dental apt. Doesn't sound good but be sure and do the sleep study. A cpap is not the worse thing if it helps and makes you feel better.

WG - you are just so busy - what did you decide to do today. Sorry about your DS's drama as usual. But I got to believe your DIL is pounding nails in her own coffin by committing the fraud. All the better for your DS when he goes to court. But July 14th sounds so far away!

We finally got our rain last night. The lightening that accompanied it really lit up the night sky, I'll only have the water the flowers under my covered porch today.

My son in law is so discouraged. He applied for a new job at work that he is more than qualified for. HR won't even interview him for it. I hate the politics that go on in workplaces.

I have laundry to catch up on this morning. I need to run to Kohl's to use my Kohl's cash. What I neat way to get return business, emoticon

I'm looking forward to starting this challenge on Saturday. We have 2 birthdays this weekend so it will be interesting to say the least.

If any of you are out at the quilt shops when the row by row starts. I wouldn't mind the patterns if they look cute. I don't need any kits and I definitely have enough license plates. The free patterns will help me use up some of my stash....thanks

If anyone going to Shipsee wants more daffodils or columbine I have plenty to share. I plan on going to the Ghirardelli Chocolate outlet and I have no problem going to Jelly Belly if anyone wants treats for home.

Have a Great Thursday!

Hi, Seesters!

I just gifted myself with another pair of Alegrias - at a good price, too! This pair is more sedate that my "happy shoes" with the flowers on them. LOL This brand just feels so very good on my feet.

Three things happening today:

1. I am meeting a former colleague for lunch. I haven't seen her since the early 1990s, and she discovered via FB that we live fairly close to each other, having both moved from the same rural area. We have shared school district and church memories from that time, so it will be interesting to catch up.

2. StepGD began to have labor induced at midnight, so baby Luke will be here later. Big brother Liam [will turn 4 in October] swears he is having a sister, so it may be interesting and lots of future stories if he ends up being correct. LOL

3. Oldest SD [the grandmother of Luke and Liam] has invited us over for coffee this morning as she watches Liam at his home. I just hope it goes well for DH's sake - this is the SD who is so easily bent out of shape.

I hope to add in some strawberry and cherry picking.

Weezie, yes, you want the kit...not the license plate. I plan to be in that area on July 7. Do you think that will be okay? I think I remember that they begin to be available midJune.

SS, how was the dessert? Is that a nut crust? I am relaxing my plan a bit on weekends, and am always looking for fun things to do with my strawberries. I love just eating them, though.

Have a good day!

Evening all,

Just wanted to pop in and catch up (I'm trying to stay connected as I've done poorly for sometime).

PJ, I'm sorry about the dentist and his news. Hope you can get relief so you can sleep. This getting older stuff stinks! Hope all the wedding festivities and such are fun for you and glad they are taking care of your dad and keeping you posted. What a relief I'm sure.

SS, I'm so impressed with your detoxing. I gotta get my head in the game as well and looking forward to the challenge. I need to plan and to commit to logging daily and checking in here. Why am I my own worst enemy?

WG, congrats to you on the little ones graduation. Kellan will this week but I don't think I'll be able to get there. He has his kindergarten testing Thursday and round up is in August. I did get to see all the goodies they get then - I'm excited for him! And, I also understand the ex. Mine has said some pretty crappy things as of late and my son was dumb enough to share so I was pissed to say the least. Our last interaction was him telling me I shouldn't drink diet coke and this from a drunk who drinks whiskey from the moment he is up in the morning till he passes out at night. I told him in no uncertain terms to shut the F*** up! I think he knows I have no use for him about now. Idiot!! I also admire you being able to just stay out of the drama. I've done the same with my DIL and my life has improved immensely. And yes, we still get Ava quite often. I'm not sure what her mama is going to do this summer but she's gotta figure it out. Ugh.

Tammy, hope you're well and just a reminder, seeing June is just around the corner, that I'm looking for the actual row-by-row kit and not the license plate. I too have many and still need to do something with them. Thank you again for helping me out.

SEK, look forward to hearing more about the car deal. What did you get that you didn't like and what did you get in its place? Painting? You're a better person than I. I think that is hard work. Thanks for sharing about Joshua as well. He'll get there.

LG, hope the game tonight was fun and the weather cooperated. We have rain predicted tonight so we'll see. I am sure you'll have fun with the grands this weekend as well. What will you do to keep them busy?

Sorry all I'm tired and heading to bed. Sadly, today felt like a Friday and it was only Wednesday. LOL

Have a great evening and talk to you tomorrow!

Back in to say HI again. Busy this week doing doctor appointment next week will be getting the wedding stuff done reception location decorated etc etc.

Sharon I did buy a vacuum today. A shark Rocket model HV322 at BB&B. It is a upright stick type electric. I think it will do for what I want it for.

The nursing home has called me 2 times this week to let me know they found swelling in dads ankles so they are having him take water pills everyday now. They are also having a chest xray done and lab work. I am so impressed with there attention to him and keeping me updated. I will go and see him tomorrow and sneak up there one day next week too before the wedding.

I had a dental appointment today and he gave me the bad news that my bones and gums are not in such good shape. Made appts for heavy duty cleaning and scaling of the gum areas. He also wants me to see a ENT specialist about a sleep study. He can tell I am grinding my teeth and since I haven't been sleeping (ongoing for a long time) that maybe I need to have a cpap. So I am starting by seeing my primary Friday to see how he wants me to proceed. Hopefully something will help as I just haven't been up to par (I know a lot of it is stress) but I don't think that is all of it.

Weez love the sister camp pics.

Won't replay to all posts just know I am thinking of all my seesters and hoping everyone is doing ok.

I go by the name of PJ and live north of KC, MO. Winter in East Texas.

Onward and Downward

Its always too soon to quit.

It may take me longer to get to my goal than my original plan but I will get there.

Hi Seesters. Looks like I missed yesterday. Princess Sofia had preschool graduation yesterday and I took the little boys with me. Sat next to ex which was fine. I ignored him. Then he showed up at lunch and I managed to ignore him again except for the minimal contact. I prefer not to talk with him and beyond civil exchanges, I don't want to do the small talk. Sitting next to him was a mistake entirely and my son doesn't figure out things well when it comes to interpersonal stuff. No scenes. Just there.

Today I have the choice of a cub scout thing where a grandson "graduates" from cubs and into boy scouts or a piano recital for a granddaughter. I missed her last one and would like to attend both events.

Family drama continues. It has quieted down a bit as there hasn't been a lot of conflict. DS has given ground on most things. He is filing for divorce soon and DIL has been committing Food Stamp and Medicaid fraud so it might become interesting soon. The hearing for visitation/custody is July 14 so there is a bit of quiet. I find that being "out of the conflict" is a great place to be and I don't get involved in the drama except where DS needs me to help him.

Weezie, I loved your recounting of Sister camp. It sounds like a lot of fun and I love that you make a big effort to get together regularly and do things together. I loved the alphabet letters and the quilts. How lucky to have access to a long arm for your week. That would be a lot of fun for sure. Your grandson in Kindergarten! How fun for everyone.

Is Ava still spending as much time with you?

Weezie2, Roundabouts are the "thing" for subdivisions here now. Saves on stops and signs. I'm glad your garden is working out.

leg, I had fences put into my yard to "facilitate" the other property owner's construction. wasn't fond of that either.

so, glad you have started your la/he diet. Don't want you miserable for the weekend, just thinner.

Found something fun and new recently. I have a coworker who grew up in the Caribbean and made her own cocoa tea. It is ground husks/shells and beans. It has a wonderful dark chocolate flavor. Have no idea about the caffeine content, but it was marvelous. It doesn't come in a package so I'll need to get a diffuser so I can enjoy it and not have a mess.

Gotta go and get some things together for the kids this afternoon. Have a great day all.

Good Afternoon! The heat and the humidity has hit full force today. I went for three outdoor walks and I do have to do one more to get our mail which is about 1,500 steps. I can't believe how I sweat after each walk.

BTW, yes LC/HF works wonders for me. I am down 6.5 lbs in two days. Now I realize that only happens the first week so going into our challenge you won't see those kinds of losses but I am hoping for 2 lbs a week. I have felt like crap the last two days. I am detoxing from all the sugar in my system. It's known as the Keto Flu. But today I am actually feeling the energy return to my body. Instead of dragging to go for my walk, I'm actually enjoying it today except for the sweating!

SEK - I don't envy you dealing over a new car. I am sorry you don't like the one you got last Oct. But life is too short to stick with what you don't like. I hope the dealership does well by you. Good luck also on working this summer. I think I'd opt for the office work over painting a house! What do you have against the office job?

LG - after not much sleep and working all day, I would be surprised if you didn't fall asleep on the drive. Have fun at the game!

Tammy - you would be so proud of me as I am trying lots of new recipes this time around on low carb. I was requested to bring a dessert to my DS's on Sunday so this is the low carb dessert I am making. I just hope it turns out as good as it looks!

Today is going to be eventful. We are buying a new car, now we just bought one in October and we both hate it, so I called the dealer and said you're getting it back, I want trade in of what it is really worth not what you think it is, and if you can't do that we will go with someone who will. He said no problem I'll be expecting you. I hate buying a car.

I should be painting but at the moment the weather is not cooperating. I left Casey's because I thought I was going to be working in the guys office, well .......I seem to be painting 2 houses instead. It's fine I don't mind painting but I would like to be able to so I can continue to make money while not driving a bus. I think the office thing will happen because his wife saw me and flipped out that I was painting, she said he needs someone in that office, oh brother are we going to have a talk. Looks like this is going to be a fun summer.

The question "what is Joshua going to do now?" He plans on enrolling in a wielding course that the neighboring college offers. It is 2 semester 8 hours a day 5 days a week. He would still like to do acting but nothing has come up and he knows he has to have a job until that happens. Right now he works for a shipping place a couple days a week, and it pays well, but it is not a forever job. He does packaging, and delivering to the different shipping centers, FedEx, UPS, etc.

I'm excited about the new challenge in the RV team, I need to get back in the saddle again and stop screwing around.

Ladies take care and have a wonderful Wednesday, oh and pray I don't kill the car dealer.

You will never get to the next great moment in life if you don't keep going.

I'm here early because Luke has a baseball game tonight and it will be late when I get home and I won't have time to get on here.

I'm working again today and so I'm on the run.

Tammy, I didn't sleep well either. I was awake at 3 but didn't get up until I just couldn't lay there any longer. Hope that you get a nap again today. I'll probably sleep as Thomas drives to Luke's game!

Hope that everyone has a great day.

Hi, Seesters!

Weezie, thanks for the pictures! Such nice projects!

LG, low carb doesn't seem to help me at all, either, although I do try to have mostly low carb choices when SD eats with us after work. I tried to do it all day long, but just can't sustain it long term. I know it works great for SS.

I am up too darn early again. I did get a very nice nap yesterday afternoon, so I imagine that is why I was up so early. I know some of you will likely have your 10K in already...LOL...I don't even have my fitbit on yet, but I can't sleep with it. It bothers me on my wrist.

Good evening!!

I had a good day and it is always fun to work at Sharynn's. Today was just a normal day but I got onto her "distributor's website" and picked out patterns and kits for the shop! I think I picked out some great ones. She and I are going to work on quilt blocks for the Shop Hop that is in June. That should be so much fun! I'm working again tomorrow and she told me that she might need me more next week. So we'll see.

Sharon, wish I could go low carb & lose 5 lbs that quick. But I've tried and it plays havoc with my gut. So I go to smaller portions. I will say that I don't pay much attention to what SP/FitBit say about calories. I know that I really can't eat over 1300-1400 per day or I'm gaining weight.
I try to keep it at 1200 but it is really hard! I will be bringing pies an apple and bumbleberry. My peach got away from me. Sharon, I'll try to make something that is low carb for you!

Weezie, I hate drama and would hate working in it. That is why I love Sharynn's. NO drama! Except maybe from some customers! We have sewing circle this Thursday night again so I am hoping to get that bag almost finished.

Weezie2, our temps got to about 88 today and it was nice. Thomas worked outside most of the day. I worked out there yesterday afternoon for over 2 hours. We are still planting a lot of stuff. Our ground is still saturated.

PJ, wish you could come to Shipshe again but I know that you have a lot on your plate and it is an expensive trip.

Tammy, wish you could come too.

And for that matter, all of you!!! Would love to meet you all in.

Now I've got to get moving and head for bed!!

Good Evening!
I've had a fun but busy day today. This morning Norm and I went to breakfast with several classmates that I graduated with way back in 1965. I recognized several of them immediately, others didn't have a clue. It was a big turnout (over 25) and they get together once a month. This is our first time but doubt it will be the last.

One of our neighbors stopped on his way home and gave us a case of Jimmy Dean Sausage patties. He works at Hillshire Farms. The case has 144. Good thing they only have 1 carb so I can eat them. Tonight for supper I had a breakfast sandwich made with a low carb MIM bread, split and toasted. It was delicious and I'll be making it again, for sure.

Another neighbor baked a pumpkin pie. She brought Norm a huge piece but knew I couldn't eat the crust so she put some filling in a ramekin and baked it. I enjoyed it with a little whipped cream on it for dessert this evening.

Weezie2 - yes, our temps reached mid 80's today as well. I do believe rain is moving in. At least I have my normal sinus headache prior to rain.

Weezie - yes, Norm and I are planning on camping at Shipshee again this year. I was hoping PJ or someone else would join us but I guess it's just us camping. And yes, I am planning on a potluck at our place as in the past. That works rather well as we can sit and visit as long as we want. I just knew you would have a wonderful Sister Camp experience. I enjoyed the pictures.

LG - I wish I was only up 3 lbs! I am also so glad for the challenge. I went back low carb yesterday (hey, perhaps that's my headache?) as I couldn't stand seeing the scale go up every time I stepped on it. I will probably be down about 5 lbs by Saturday if I stick to it.

Good evening to you all!

What a lovely day today. A little warmer than I'd prefer but sure was nice to see sunshine and blue sky.

Work is work. Some things never change. We're in the midst of a new Superintendent search so the fun is gearing up. Change is always interesting. The year is winding down and then we get into 'fast forward' for the summer. Sure does make it go by quickly.

WG, what is new on your end. How's is your son's family matters going? Still dealing with drama on this end but I've pretty much just decided the DIL is not worth my energy.

The boys are getting big and Kellan will start school in the fall. Oh boy! This should be interesting. He's got his own little quirks so I am looking forward to see how this develops.

LG, hope your day at Sharynn's shop went well. Has she gotten new fabric in you just can't live without? Oh, I forgot to mention, at 'sister' camp, we had pie at dinner one night and it was so similar to your bumbleberry that I was in heaven!! Looking forward to Shipsee.

SS, how did your day go. Did you get out and walk? I couldn't do the heat I'm afraid. You are coming to Shipsee, aren't you?

TB, hope you are well and enjoying Red. Are you working on any quilts?

Okay, before I forget. DH came to me last night and he's got an idea he wants to try. You all know about the MONDO bags. Well, he's going to design fabric out of the photos of the t-shirts from the most recent t-shirt quilt I made and get fabric so I can make a bag out of it to match the quilt. I have leftover lining/backing fabric so it will be lined with the same as the quilt. He figured he can get it all done with just a yard of fabric. I'll have to share once this comes to fruition but though how fun!

PJ, hope you are doing well. How are the grands. You have how many great ones now? You don't look like you could have great grands I might add.

SEK, so what is Joshua doing now? Are you still working on getting parts in movies?

Weezie, hope you are doing well. Looking forward to Shipsee. I'll bring the alphabet letters along to share with you. I think the girls might have FUN with them.

Now I need to get outside and push the lawnmower around. We're almost done with the yard and just in time as rain is in the forecast.

Hello to everyone and hope your day was splendid!

The fields are planted behind me so I think the development is not going to happen for a while. It should be okay. I will have a buffer and there will be a few ponds. There are other subdivisions in the area and they're nicely done. My only concern at this time is the roundabout at the corner.

I finished weeding my garden and have my peppers planted. We're expecting rain tomorrow so it will be a good day to get caught up with a few projects in the house.

Ah, Weezie, good to see you here! And of course, love the pictures and living thru you with the "sisters"! So much fun. I want to get my bag made that we all got last year in Shipshe and then I'm going to finish up the umbrella quilt. We are again getting together at Sharynn's on Thursday evening for our sewing circle so I'm hoping to get the bag done then. Or at least pretty close.

Sharon, I'm so ready for the challenge. Why is it so hard to do this when we aren't in a challenge? I'm only up 3 lbs but that's too much. Thanks for doing this. I sure wish that Norm and you lived closer to us. I need a few things done!!

WG, right now we have a "rails to trails" going in on the railroad bed in front of our house. Talk about a mess!! The contractor put signs in our yard and didn't even ask permission!! I'm really not happy. But Rachel (who works for a contractor) says that they can do that. Still doesn't make me happy. AND the mess and the traffic is awful. Now I realize it'll be nice once it's done but.....not happy.

SEK, glad that graduation is over and that you are only working one job again. Don't know how you did that.

Tammy, did you have to bale your yard when you got home?? We've had so much rain that the lawn service can't mow with regular mowers. Too much water sitting in the back yard.

We went to Carmen's band concert tonight and it was really good. The guy who is the band director plays tons of instruments and you can tell he loves the kids.

Now I've got to get to bed. Working tomorrow!!

Hello all!

Well 'sister' camp is in the history books for another year. We had a great time, as per usual, and sad when it came to an end. Got a lot of things accomplished and tried some new things too! So all-in-all a success. Now to get back into the 'reality' of life and work. Ugh.

Thought I'd share a few things I worked on while there. Hope they come through.

We made fabric alphabet letters. We chose to make two of the same and the backs all the same so little ones who might not know them yet could at least do a bit of 'matching'. They were fun and of course we all had to make a complete set. I think I'll make a couple to hand off to a friend who teaches a pre-school class that she can use with them seeing they are washable and all.

Then I finished up this! I can't wait to see Pat's finished as her colors are far brighter. Was a fun process but I don't think I'll be doing another any time soon.

Then, I found these blocks I'd started and had gotten discouraged on but figured just do it!! So I took along and made some more and laid it out. Just needs to be put together. I enjoy working with color.

Lastly, is a quilt one of my sisters finished up. We even got to use the long arm belonging to the lady who puts on this shindig for us and another sister did the quilting. She'd never done it before but did a great job and for a bit of bartering (we helped her on a project she was needing to get done before the week started so she could help the sister doing the job) so it worked out well. The photo is a bit blurry but,.,,,,

We worked on a couple of community projects that we took and another sister brought so that took some time. We tried a few new things too but no crazy bags this year. Whew!!! I did help my oldest sister make a Mondo bag - she was so excited!!

Anyway, the time was good, the food was great (though we had her cut down to one big meal a day) and actually came back without a weight gain. But, I did manage at least 10k daily except for the Friday we left. I actually got 17k one day so we walked and I used the treadmill there. Helped me immensely.

I've read through the thread and see all are busy. Love the ball you made PJ. Weezie, sorry about the development. SEK glad you gave up one of the jobs and get a break before summer school. We go to school until June 15th!! LG, I am glad you're enjoying working for Sharynn. Sorry we couldn't do her retreat. Tammy, thanks for pushing me on the challenges. SS, I will go over to the RV team and see about joining this next challenge. I need to keep at it.

Now I need to get moving. Had to work the late shift today to cover so we had a late dinner and I'm tired. Gotta get up a little earlier tomorrow so I can get my steps in before work. Only managed 8k this morning so not much over 10k at the moment. All well, life goes on.

Will try to check back tomorrow after we do some lawn work.

Good to be home.

Good Afternoon!
Well, I know I think about the challenges more because I have to set them up and all but I am really excited about this summer challenge. Five more sleeps and it begins! I'm setting up the template thread for our weights so come on over and set up your template.

Norm worked for the park this morning but is staying home and working on our cubbie this afternoon. I am leaving him home alone and going to get more groceries. I have taken to going twice a week but only buy for a few days. It seems to cost less and I have less spoilage. BUT, I don't like to go so we'll see how long it lasts.

I am starting to cut back on my carbs. If I wait until Saturday and cut back I'll get the low carb flu and I don't need to feel crappy over the Holiday weekend. We have been invited to our DS's on Sunday for a cookout. I am bringing low carb dishes to pass and he's doing marinated chicken breasts on the grill so it shouldn't hurt me.

WG - I see you're grocery shopping today as well. Let's both get lots of healthy choices.

SEK - good job on getting Joshua all graduated! And I mean that literally as it was hard work for you too!

LG - you will be busy this week but I'm glad you are willing to cover for Gail as she is going through the funeral for her stepmother.

Good morning. It's quiet this morning and I've got a few things done. Going to run errands soon as I've run out of food even though I shopped on Friday. DS apparently was hungry.

Weezie2, that's a big change. Over the last few years, especially the last couple of them, the fields around me have become big houses. It bothers me that people can see into my back yard. The privacy and intimacy is gone. The traffic on my road is ridiculous, especially when the teens are out driving. I had lived at the end of a dead end road for many years so this was a big deal for me. My kids still talk about how much fun it was to play ball in the street with different houses and mailboxes as bases.

Once the noise and dirt are done, it might work out and you will enjoy the improvements. Sometimes the roads get cleaned sooner on snowy days. My kids are grown so it isn't as big a deal as it might have been. The worst was when the big construction trucks drove by all the time even though there were more direct roads they could reach. The developer blocked off the other roads so he could protect the subdivisions he built there from the noise. Not liking the guy much.

SS, that is a lot of people at a shower. I'm glad they got many things for the baby. It is also nice that everyone put aside their differences and played nice.. I do love the work Norm is doing on the cubby. I like a place to sit and put on my shoes. That is one of my favorite parts of an entryway cubby. That and having my coats and things by the door.

SEK, I'm glad graduation is over, you no longer work at Casey's. Enjoy the days until you drive bus again.

LG, my computer was crashing a lot but is behaving better today. Won't last but it was a nice idea. Sounds like you are working a lot this week. Take care of yourself. A lot of ladies who work at the LQS here are retired. They have so much advice and help. Quite enjoy them.

Tammy, glad you are home and got sewing done, lawn mowed, and even played in the garden. How are the berries going?

I'm off to get groceries and make something fun for lunch. Have a great day.

I've been bad and not been here, but so busy, I just didn't want to sit at the desk for long.

I will be doing a blog on the new yard things and the work in the house.

I posted on FB that I left Casey's, Thank God, thought that would free up time, but then got busy with the bus.

Got Joshua graduated and did not get any good pictures, he wouldn't stand still so he looks like the flash in them, then someone and messed with my camera setting and I didn't realize it in time.

School is out but I may have a trip later this week to take girls soft ball to state, boys baseball didn't make it.

Summer school starts July 8th so I'll be back to the bus then.

Take care and I hope to be here more often.

OK, we are at it again today. Just lost another post. Screen went blank and I had to get out.

Sharon, that's a lot of people to have at a shower. Glad that she got a lot of nice things and that the exes didn't cause any drama.

PJ, love the grab ball. I remember a lady who lived down the street from us years ago made them and sold them for $1!!

WG, glad that you are "cleansing". I love to do that but don't get enough time.

Weezie2, a new development. Well, it guess it could be worse .....like a factory!

I worked yesterday and will work again Tuesday and Wednesday. Gail's stepmother died and will be buried on Tuesday. May even have to work on Thursday.

Now I need to get so that I can eat some supper and then get the church ironing done.

The baby shower I went to yesterday was huge! Her family, his family and all the ex's families. I think about 100 women! No games (thank you very much). We ate when we arrived and she then opened her gifts while we visited. That took forever but she got lots of nice stuff all of which she will use. It's nice that all the ex's could come without any drama.

Today Norm has been working on our entryway cubbie. I posted a picture in the RV team. It's far from completed but I'll post another when it's done.

I downloaded one of my favorite games onto my laptop and that was a big mistake. Evidently, Windows 10 does not support it. I finally uninstalled it and the laptop is back to normal. I think I'll look for it online and see what I can find. I was looking forward to playing it again when I got home. Now that's not gonna happen. Funny thing is, I downloaded it and played with it yesterday just fine. But I shut the computer down and when I turned it back on, that's when all the problems began.

PJ - love the little crab ball. I commented at the shower yesterday that Niki got so many hand made quilts, afghans, sweaters, hats, booties. I thought I was lucky if I had one homemade gift! One of the cutest little hand made toys was a rattle that looked like a lion. Seems Niki had one when she was a baby and requested that her mom make one for the new baby.

Weezie2 - I'm not sure how you feel about the new development. It appears they are closing in on you. Our park has farm land on one side of us and Friday they fertilized the fields. Whewee! What a stink. The other side of the park is so bad they can't even open their windows on these beautiful weather days.

WG - I hear you on the old Photo's. I am rearranging things in my office and ran across pictures passed on to me when my parents died. I have had fun looking at them but so many are not labeled and I'm not even sure who they are. There is no sense keeping them and yet I hate to just pitch them!

LG - I haven't had any problems with SP website since they debuted the new Spark Pages but I understand the irritation of losing posts.

Tammy - are you home now?

The grab ball looks perfect for those little hands to play with. I looked up the pattern online. That's a lot of hand sewing. It might be a fun project to finish watching tv at night emoticon

I cleaned out one of my garden beds yesterday and got my tomatoes planted. I need to finish the other one soon to get my peppers in.

I got a notice in the mail this past week. The farmers field behind me is being developed. I'll have townhouses directly behind me. Apartments to the north of them and single family homes to the west of that. It's hard to imagine all the changes. The plans look well thought out so time will tell.

Have a Great Sunday!

Good afternoon. I'm taking a break from cleaning out files. It has been "cleansing" in many ways to get rid of some old papers I'd kept for a long time. Business papers, old statements, etc are all gone. Did keep the divorce decree so I could "prove" it one day if needed.

Also found some old photos I'd not seen in a while. It was fun seeing my grandparents, great grandparents and great great grandparents. Some great aunts and uncles as well. I'll now have to get the pictures from my sister as she has the old album from my grandmother that I wanted but she "borrowed" to put online.

PJ, sounds like you have a good rhythm going. It will be good for you to get things back to order. I'm glad you got new yarn. I like having a little something to do in the evenings.

LG, glad the outside games are almost done. Not sure the inside ones are much better in the hot summer, but it will be fun.

Have a great day everyone.

Spent time with dad yesterday, doing errands, and bought groceries. Decided I needed some baby yarn to start a crocheted blanket for the great gd due in August. It will give me something to do in the evenings so maybe I won't fall asleep at 8pm.

I also worked on another baby sewing project today. Using some of my scrap material I made a grab ball for the new baby. Many pieces sewn together and each small section has fiber fill in it. I'll try and get a picture to post. Trying to eat better and now to work on getting back to exercising regularly.

Also got my car trunk emptied out by dropping things off to a local thrift shop. That will be the first load of many before I'm done.

It is dry here today and I'm sure we will be mowing again this weekend.

Hello Seesters!
We are finally getting some beautiful weather. Sunny and warm temps. Best part is very little wind today. This weekend we could get up to 80 degrees! Nala and I took a nice walk this morning to find out where Norm is working. He's rebuilding and repainting one of the sheds in the park. Then this afternoon, he'll be working on my my entryway cubbie. My job is to empty everything out of the cabinet that I have against that wall. I don't know where to go with everything!

I ordered the storage baskets from Amazon last night that will go in the cubbies. I wanted more a basket than the cubes so I found exactly what I wanted so ordered them.

I am getting excited for our challenge to begin on Saturday. I have been so unfocused on weight loss since we returned home. It will be good to be working again to see that scale go down. If you haven't joined yet, there is still time. I've heard from most of you on this team with the exception of Weezie, SEK, and Becky. We'll see if they join us.

Weezie2 - As I mentioned, I am also loving this weather!

Tammy - don't be in any hurry to return home. The jungle will be there after the fun.

LG - it's amazing how working just part time takes a chunk out of your time. I'm glad you enjoy all the games you go to for the GK's. You are a wonderful Grandma for attending!

Sheila - the challenge I mentioned is with the RV Enthusiasts team that I lead. I invited the ladies from this team to join our team for our last challenge and not only did they enjoy the challenge but none of them have dropped out. They have made new Spark Friends. So now I am inviting you to join the team if you would like to join us in the challenge. Just let me know and I'll send you more information.

I love our weather. It's the perfect temps for me. I weeded another garden yesterday to help work some of the kinks out of my back and thighs.

Kelly and I went to a garden center yesterday to get our veggies. We were both good and split a flat. Her hands will be full with an 18 month old this summer so she needed it manageable. We're going to try a few new things this year so it should be interesting. I've never tried growing kale or broccoli before. I did get a few things for my planters. Later today I'll be cleaning out the garden beds to get those veggies planted. This morning I'll be giving Kelly a hand with hers. Claire time is always a great thing emoticon

I plan on another overnight with Kami so my day will fly by.

Have a Great Friday!

Hi, Seesters!

I'm anxious to get home to look at the jungle after our rainy days. My priorities will need to be the garden, the lawn, and the baby quilt.

We got a rain break yesterday. I got my 10k and also rode my bike a bit.

Have a good day!

I thought that I posted here yesterday but I guess that I just read the posts! Worked 2.5 days this week as Sharynn has been gone to Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. I know that she is enjoying herself a lot. Her DH went with her. We were very busy yesterday and had 2 very difficult customers in wanting to buy a sewing machine. Actually, only the one was bitchy! She found something wrong with every thing! I was glad when her friend bought one and left. That is the first time I've run into a difficult customer there. Now when Thomas and I had our store, we had a few!

I'm on the run again this morning as I've got to get to the grocery store and lots of errands to get done. Thomas went to the greenhouse and picked up all my plants yesterday so I've got that to do also.

We went to Brooke's game last night. They lost again but it was her last for this season. Now only Luke's and then Brooke starts basketball for the month of June!! FUN!

Now I've got to get into the shower and move.

Hi Seesters. I see that I have been busy and had computer issues so any response I tried to make died with the crashing of the computer. It is what it is right now. I have done a few things to help and if that doesn't work, I'll think about changing other things.

SS, sorry about your oven incident. I'm glad it cleaned up nicely. The afghan looks lovely. It is nice and large so you can snuggle on cooler evenings. It looks great in the room as well. What a thoughtful and lovely gift.

I'm glad you are continuing to socialize.

The ultrasound sounds miserable. I suppose that there will be a better picture of things if they do that but it isn't fun. When do you go back to find results?

PJ, you do work hard when you have these tasks to do. I'm glad that cleaning your dad's apartment is done and you can move on to the next thing. It sounds like you have the wedding well in hand. It's coming up quickly.

Tammy, it sounded like you finally got some sunshine.

TB, I'm so sorry about Bob's news. I'm sure you will all figure out what to do next and after that, but it doesn't seem fair at all. Keep visiting when you can. I know you have a lot of things to do and think about but say "hi" when you can.

LG, I hope you stay warm at the games and enjoy your work. What classes this month?

Weezie, hope the sister camp is going well. Looking forward to stories and pictures.

Have a wonderful evening everyone.

I haven't been on the computer much today but got on to report that we did not win at the casino. There was a bad accident on the highway where someone got out of their car to move something off the road and was hit. The car just drove on! They airlifted him to the hospital but I haven't heard if he lived or died. The road was closed over 2 hrs so it took us twice as long to get home.

So, have you all checked out the new Spark Pages? Now I know why my SP pages have been freezing the last few days. They normally do and then (as Leader) we get notification of a change coming. We did not get notified this time and it's a big change! So many of the members are upset with some threatening to leave. I have to get adjusted but right now they are very cookie cutter looking (no individuality) and in columns which reminds me of Facebook. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it. How are you liking the change?

Your afghan is beautiful. It's done in the ripple stitch. I have one done as a baby blanket that Frank's G'ma made for Kelly when she was a baby. I passed it right along for Claire to use.

I just finished 3.5 hours in the yard with my nephew. It's great what can get accomplished with teamwork. He plans on working 3 or 4 days a week with me. We saw a scarlet tananger while we were working. It's the first one I remember seeing in a really long time. It's a very vibrant red bird .

I'm off to take another shower and get cleaned up before I get on with my day.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Just got back from what I thought was going to be a Cat Scan. Turns out it was an Ultrasound both external and internal. That was so much fun - NOT! At least it's over and hopefully they will discover what is causing the pain.

Now we are off to meet our friends for our weekly casino run. It seems like we were just there! Oh, right - we were on Friday!

The sun is shining bright and the wind has let up so I'm happy.

Thanks for the comments on my afghan. I'm thrilled with it!

Good morning....

I'm on the emoticon here this morning....work day. I also got called into work yesterday afternoon as on the of gals' stepmom is very bad. So not sure when she'll be back to work. Sharynn is at Quilt Market so it is just myself and one other gal working now. I am hoping that Gail will be back tomorrow as I have plans to go to Indianapolis. I need new tennis shoes.

PJ, glad that you are getting on with the wedding plans. How is your dad adjusting? It can be so hard for them but just about as hard for you.

Sharon, the afghan is very pretty. That Bingo sound like a real "killer"!! And so happy to be back on a challenge! I need to get back at it.

I need to get moving.....hope that you all have a wonderful Hump Day!!

Good Evening!
I've been busy all day. This morning most of it was spent cleaning my oven. It looks so clean and pretty, almost like new! And the best part, the oven still works.

This afternoon I went to Adult Bingo at the Community Room. I won several games. They have all kinds of stuff from mostly the Dollar Store, both cleaning products and snack foods. Nothing expensive but it's fun to fight over $dollar stuff!

Then I went to WalMart. It seems like I go grocery shopping every day but I needed milk, eggs and cash!

I sent out the invite for the summer challenge today so that also has been time consuming. BUT, I am happy and pleased with the response. Seems many of us have just been waiting. I hope we all do well over the summer.

PJ - you have been busy! I'm glad you got your dad's place done and the key turned in. Time to focus on the wedding and then you can work on the clutter in your home. Here's a picture of the afghan on my couch and closer up so you can see what stitch she used.

TB - I am also sorry to read Bob's news. How is he doing emotionally? I truly believe he can prolong his decline if he keeps a good attitude. That and hopefully our prayers will help.

TB sorry to hear about BOB but do hope he keeps that good attitude. Prayers for you both

Sharon we need a picture of the afghan.

Tammy we can all at least picture where you are camped in Branson. Rainy weather is good for reading and eating soup. Try to enjoy your week.

I ordered the grooms cake this morning and then came home and wrapped the wedding tableware in napkins. Something that didn't take much brain power just doing. We did get dad's apartment emptied on Sunday and I turned in his keys yesterday. Its good to get that finished. The wedding is sneaking up on us quickly. I attend a support meeting tomorrow and a plan of care meeting on Thursday.

TB, read Bob's post on FB and I'm praying. There is always hope. But you are right about life changes. Glad that you are sticking around here. Remember that we are all here for you and you can come here to "chat" any time.

I'm here, Lily, just not feeling very social at the moment. Big life changes take some time to adjust to, but I'll get it done.

Thinking of you all ... and I'm reading even though I don't feel very chatty.

Good morning, ladies.....

It is a rainy, cold and dreary day here in Southern Indiana. My head is all stuffed up and I'm tired. Haven't slept good the last 2 nights. We went to Brooke's game last night and she played very well. Caught 2 fly balls and got to 2 hits. The pitcher was very fast compared to what she is used too. Plays again tonight. I wrapped up in a blanket last night and will do the same tonight if they even have it as it is raining here now. Her last game is Thursday. Luke plays on Wednesday night. WHEE!!

Tammy, sorry that you are on vacation and it is raining. That's not fair!!

Sharon, I had something similar happen once as I poured some water into a hot dish and it "exploded" on me. Didn't realize it was that hot. Hope that your oven is OK. How nice of your sister to make you an afghan. I have several that Thomas' mom made for us.

WG, wish I could say that I want it cooler! I'd really like to see some 90s here soon. I'm so tired of cold and rain and wind....

Was going to try to get outside today and do some gardening but it is just too miserable. I have plants that need to get into the ground but it ain't happenin' today! Our nights have been just too cool yet. It'll get done.

Now I'm off to see what kind of mischievous things I can get into!! emoticon Funny, that made me think of TB!! Where are you, dear???!!

Good evening. Home from work. Another long and very busy day. Lots of chaos as there were a lot of comings and goings. I'm just glad to be home.

SS, sorry about the oven dish not being oven proof. I'm glad you got it cleaned up. Hoping the whole thing is a nice story in a week or so. It's so nice of your sister to make an afghan for you. I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot.

I'm sorry the weather is still cool and wet.

Same for you Tammy. Cool and wet isn't fun when you have plans to walk and ride your bike. Reading is fun but there is so much you can do in a day then it's time to do something else. Hope things clear up soon.

LG, hope you are warmed up from the games this week.

I'm off to see what else is happening. I ordered a gift for DGS who is having a birthday on Thursday. It was shipped April 2. It came from China so it was supposed to arrive by today. No such luck. I'm thinking I'll need Plan B.

I've also got to find a gift for DGD who has a birthday on Thursday as well. We'll celebrate on Friday.

Off to bed and glad it is cooler tonight. I'm not minding the rain when I can sleep.

Evening!
I had a pleasant day. We had sunshine all day! I did have a problem at dinner time. I put a bowl of scalloped potatoes in the oven and the bowl evidently wasn't ovenproof as it split and went everywhere. I got the mess cleaned when the oven was cool. Then I sprayed it tonight with overnight oven cleaner. When I get it all cleaned, I hope it still works!

This evening my sister came over to visit. You girls know how much I envy all your home made things. We'll, my sister made me a beautiful Afghan throw to put on the back of my couch. I had no idea and can't believe all the work she put in to it. What a nice thing for her to do.

Tammy - the park must be a mess with all that rain. Hopefully, the sun will come out tomorrow and dry things up.

Rain, rain, and more rain...but we aren't tent camping. Lol

I finished a book. I'll start another before going to sleep tonight.

Pretty low key stuff here and it looks like at least two more days of rain now. I'm trying not to complain.

We have the same weather you have Sharon except it's not supposed to get quite that cold here. If the wind would just not blow!! And I know what you mean about the kids. Usually the kids are looking forward to coming here part of the summer but Brooke is going to basketball camp for a while and will be playing for the whole month of June. Carmen will also go to basketball camp and Luke will be doing a week of Vacation Bible school. But I'm sure that they will spend some time here.

Tammy, so glad that you were invited to the 50th and that you went. Not sure that I would have done that!

WG, yes, they do get different interests. They will be spending the weekend of Memorial Day here because Jason and Stephanie will be going to the 100th running of the Indy 500 with the Purdue Band. They are so excited. So the kids will spend Saturday night here and the J/S will be back on Sunday evening. They will all spend the night Sunday with us.

Just to let you all know (in case you didn't see it on FB) Weezie made it to Georgia and they are already set up and ready to get at it!

We went to Carmen's last 2 basketball games today and they won both of them. We have 4 games this week. Monday, Tuesday & Thursday Brooke plays and on Wednesday Luke plays. I'll be happy when it is over as it isn't going to be warm!

Thomas and I have a meeting tonight at 6p.m. for an event in June. It's outside too! So I'm going in a heavy sweatshirt!

Good Afternoon!
Those of you that know what a neat freak I can be, will understand why I'm having a hard time today. My kitchen is full of planters from the deck because last night and tonight we have frost warnings (in May!) and my office is just a torn up room. I love the end results but that is probably not going to happen until the end of summer. Norm will be working on it between his work for the park and our social life.

Tammy - you're probably at TL and all set up by now. So you said it was going to be a low key week. Any special plans like shows or dinner's out? We all want to live vicariously through your posts.

WG - you're right, the GK's won't always want to come over. At least my experience began around middle school. They began outside activities and from then came dating. We were not top priority any more. At least we have fun memories and we do see them occasionally yet but it's definitely different. But it's even different with the kids. There are no problems, they are just busy with their own families now. BUT, my DD told me last week that she was expecting us to come to her first hosted Thanksgiving Day dinner. Now that her children are becoming adults and moving out, she is looking forward to them coming home for Thanksgiving. Circle of life! Of course, we will be there!

LG - it's still cold and windy here today but the sun is shining so it looks pretty out the window. I took one walk around the block and the wind was so strong my eyes were watering. The rest of my steps will be inside!

Hi, Seesters!

A quick post before we seriously get into our day of taking the RV to Branson - we have some last things to do and it is about to get light. I do hope the WiFi is working well.

We went to the 50th wedding anniversary of my ex's oldest brother yesterday. This exBIL actually lives fairly close and we have happened upon them a few times over the 20 years we have lived here. We were very pleased to be invited. Their only child - a daughter - planned it and it was a very nice, small affair. My ex wasn't there - at least not while we were there - but I did get to visit with two other brothers and wives who I hadn't seen in over 25 years. I was associated with that family for a bit over ten years, and it was heartwarming that they did seem glad to see me and they were very cordial to Joe as well and I was glad of that. It was one of those good things to do that had some unexpected benefits to me.

Have a very good day!

LG, if you have the zip, you will need to change the battery like with the Omron but this one is a CR2025. It lasts about 6 months like the Omron.

I am enjoying the kiddos. They are fun and we have fun visits. The kids still like to come and visit although we have changed what we do. As they age, I've had to find other things to interest them so they will continue to visit. It won't last this way forever, but I'm certainly enjoying it now.

It is cold, rainy, and windy here this morning. Just AWFUL!! I had plans to go out and work in the gardens. But it's not pretty out there. Did have to go to Wal-Mart to get a few things and came straight home. Tomorrow Carmen has 2 basketball games and then I have a meeting at 6p.m.

I'm planning to stay inside except to go to church at 5p.m. Hope that he's turned off the AC!!

WG, it is so awesome that you have so many grandkids. I envy that. Brooke is getting older and I'm sure that she will not be wanting to spend much time with us. And I understand that! Just enjoy them while you can!

Sharon, we have the same kind of weather....crappy! I have not had to charge my FB yet so I'm hoping that I don't forget it!

Tammy, those strawberries sound so great. I was going to go to the farmer's market this morning but it is so cold that I decided not to. And they had strawberries! I should have gone.

PJ, hope that things are settling down for your dad. I'm sure that it will take him some time to settle in but it is for the best. Hope that the wedding plans are progressing.

Weezie, I know that you are on the road so be safe. You will have so much fun with your sisters.

Weezie2, I have found a few things I'm planning to bring to Shipshe for you!

I have 2 pies for Shipshe.....apple and bumbleberry. Hope that will be enough.

Got to get moving.....dryer just went off.

Good morning. It's been another couple of long days at work.

Came home yesterday to a house full of 8 grands. I had forgotten until my DS called to ask when I was coming home that I was watching his kids. It was fun having all the older kids together. The oldest is 10 and the youngest 2 but they were pretty good.

It's very warm this morning. I love the sunshine but love sleeping cooler.

SS, sorry the rain is hitting you again today. It is no fun to have a lot of gray days. Leaving the Fitbit is such a pain. I was thinking about you yesterday and had thoughts of a sticky note on the door when your fitbit is charging so you could remember it. I think Tammy's forgetting is what prompted it. I don't know...It's one of the things I would worry about every day.

Tammy, I love the thought of fresh and warm strawberries. I'm not sure I'd have any left to freeze. I so love a bowl of berries every day and two if there are enough.

LG, sorry the kids were like cats. There is so much to learn at museums and this has their local history. Kids don't seem to care about history at all at that age and rarely when they get older. I'm not sure who will keep our memories when we are gone.

PJ, thinking of you and your father at this time. I'm glad he is not angry but it is still stressful and a hard adjustment for sure. I do hope he does well. You are coming down to the wire with the wedding as well. Looking forward to hearing about it.

Gotta run. I'm going to make a run to the store when the kids are gone and be ready for them when they return. I've got to get a couple of other things done when I'm out, but not a problem.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning!
Well, we have our crappy day as forecasted! It's only 42 and windy, overcast and rain. I put a nice sweatshirt on and my slippers and I intend to hunker down and stay in for the day. I will have to put my steps on inside.

Speaking of steps, yesterday we took off and I left my FB charging! Don't you hate when that happens? We were gone most of the day. When we got home I played catch up but I still fell short of my goal but only by a couple hundred steps.

Tammy - have fun packing for your trip! It's a pain to pack or unpack but I love it when we're gone. I do envy you the fresh picked strawberries. I am hungry for fresh blueberries and strawberries but they are still too pricey here for me to put in my grocery cart.

LG - your post brought back memories of my years as an AWANA leader (a Baptist church club for kids) I taught 3rd graders for a few years and you have your hands full. Herding is a good word for them. I finally moved up to 5th graders but that came with a whole new set of problems. They questioned every bible verse they were asked to memorize. They have very curious minds at 10 years old.

PJ - I don't envy you having to clean out your dad's apartment. I remember doing my dad's house after he passed. It was quite the job! I hope you realize this was perfect timing for moving your dad. He is confused due to his illness but the fact that he's not mad means somewhere in his mind he accepts the situation. How is he doing with people? Does he remember who everyone is or has that started to slip as well? Good to see your post. I know you are having a busy tough month.

Hi, friends! A slow start to the day today and we will getting clothes into the RV for our little trip .

We planted a couple of Urban Apple trees on Thursday. We should have apples, but it won't be loads of them, and they don't take up much space. We were looking for dwarf trees and this is what we found. I am picking about a quart of strawberries each day or two now. Love it! I have a gallon IQF and we have had "just the berries", a strawberry shortcake, and a strawberry pie. I still want to try my hand at chocolate-dipped - just to say that I have done so. I am find with "just the berries" - just wanted to try the others.

Have a good day!
