Good Afternoon!

I guess I'm still a kid at heart. I went with my GF this morning to help take her mentally disabled GD and her other Grandmother (who has Dementia) to see the movie, Cinderella. She was grateful for my help and it was quite the chore keeping them both with us at all times. But it was fun and everyone seemed to like the movie. I'm not sure how much Bailey (the GD) understood. She kept saying it's so loud! And to be truthful, it was. I was able to sneak in some airpopped popcorn and a bottle of water for me as they were eating their popcorn with extra butter and pop!

I made myself a Chocolate/Peanut Butter shake when I got home to hold my until our dinner.

Hi, Seesters!

It is a nice day here and DH and I got some gardening chores done. We are adding a couple more raised beds plus a strawberry pyramid, so we worked on those some today - they are not ready by any means. I did work up the soil in a raised bed we made last year and planted some Vidalia onions and some turnip seeds that I had left over from last year. It helped me to be outside and doing gardening. There are more hours ahead to do so, but it will be a while before I am tired of it. I had reached my 10K step goal by 1 p.m! I noticed the past couple of days that I was within 500 steps of making my goal, and didn't realize I was that close. I would have walked in place watching television if I had realized it.

I read Debbie Macomber's latest book all day Sunday and finished it! emoticon I needed to destress, and that helped. I want to get Marie Bostwick's latest, The Second Sister, when I can.

Have a good afternoon!

Hi Seesters. The Dragon has gone home and Fabio is here. The Dragon seemed to have a good time but when we all tried to go to lunch, he was horrible, so either he didn't sleep enough or he was having a hard time. May be a little of both as he was difficult before he came yesterday.

We've reached the point where he can't sit with the kids as he is prone to make them cry.

SS, it might be the sodium then. I know that when I eat out, I often pay for a few days because of the sodium. I don't add much to my cooking so I really feel it when I'm eating other food.

LG, hope the call has come and you can play. Always things to do.

Off to do laundry and clean up from the sleepover. It is hard at times but fun to have the children.

Well, it's been a very busy morning and I'm waiting on a phone call now to meet some one at the museum. Wish they'd call as I want to move on!!

I've gotten the whole house cleaned and that includes baseboards, walls, everthing! I still need to clean the bathrooms and kitchen. I'll do those on Friday or Saturday.

Sharon, we don't eat a lot of red meat....more pork than anything else. And when we do I buy local because I know that it was raised without harmones and all kinds of other stuff!

I might try to post Brooke's picture on here later. Got one of our tax refunds and I plan to have my own computer before the weekend is up!!! emoticon

WG, you are such a good gramma!!! Ours want to have a Camp Gramma soon. So I'll have to plan for that after school is out.

Got to run and finish the laundry and ironing.

Got our laundry done this afternoon in the heat of the day. Their laundry room was nice and cool.

I don't think meat is my problem because I only eat 2-3 oz at the meals when I do eat meat. And we rarely eat beef. Tonight I had my stuffed portabello mushroom with a Dr Praeger's roasted corn cake and a side salad just around 300 calories. I'll have a snack while watching DWTS. I think the slight gain is normal fluctuation or from eating out Sat at Applebee's. I'll just continue to follow my diet and I should be fine.

LG - sounds like you had a fun day. You might really enjoy working for Sharynn and make money for your crafts rather than volunteering so much.

Weezie - this is a busy week for you but it must be so satisfying. I'm sure Gary is willing to go without eating a few meals together. I'm sure he has seen a difference in you.

Hi Seesters. Dragon is here so it will be short. He needs a sleepover and it is Spring Break. He is always fun and we've been making rubber band bracelets, cleaned the yard (dog droppings and soda cans) and watching movies.

Weezie, enjoy some "down time" and your project at work. This week is a busy one for you for sure. I'm excited for you to complete your journey. This is such a big week for you.

PJ, so glad you got to visit the kids. I understand about the shopping list and menus. It is so hard for me to plan so I usually get the same things and eat them. Only on the days I cook do I put any energy into making something fun.

SS, don't know what to say about the gain but often after a big loss, there is a slight rebound. I agree a little about the meat protein. Beef has a lot of fat in it and the other meats are less but do carry a calorie load. I still think it is good to eat the higher protein diet. Maybe more dark green veggies on the beef days?

Tammy, hope the family difficulties resolve a little soon. It is hard to have to worry so much and no matter how much we tell ourselves not to, we worry about our children.

The movie is over so I'll have to scoot.

WOW!! This has been one busy day for me. Got up and went to the gym and then after breakfast went to the chapel. Then went to SVDP for 2 hrs. Met Sharynn and we went to Nashville to check out hotels for a fall quilt retreat. The first one in the State Park there was booked so we went to another. Got all the info there and then we went to lunch. While there we saw an ad for a hotel in Edinburgh close to the Outlet Mall there. Called them and they have that same weekend open so they are sending all their info. As of right now, I'm hoping we can get the one in Edinburgh. It is just off of I-65 so very convenient and lots of places to eat and shop. A win-win!!

Sharon, if I eat a lot of protein, my weight goes up a lot. Not sure why. So I limit the amount of meat that I eat. But maybe you'll adjust at some point.

Judy, good to know you are still here!

Weezie, hope that your boss leaves and you get some one who is much nicer! You are in for a very busy week and I'm right there with you. We'll go to church on Holy Thursday and do adoration and then adoration again on Holy Saturday morning at 6 a.m. We will go to our 7:30 a.m. Easter Mass. It's not as crowded!

I'm very tired....going to get ready for bed!!

Happy Monday Ladies!!

Well I have tonight and Wednesday off otherwise lots of time at Church. Tomorrow is by choice in support of some of our group going but a good experience of this holy week. Saturday is the BIG event so should be interesting for sure. Sunday will be a day of recovery for sure. Don't plan on seeing the kids on Easter so that is fine. I'm glad I took Monday off too and then back to work but no one will be around (like bosses) and I have a project I am going to save for that time period when it is quiet and without interruption. All good.

Going to make DH a nice dinner tonight with this week being so off but he's fine with it. I think I feel more guilty not being here to have dinner with him so many nights this week. He's never been bothered so I don't know why I am.

So our Supt is interviewing in Bay City so this should all be interesting especially since my boss is realizing it is NOT her responsibility to keep things afloat. She may be gone sooner than later and it is clear as she has been nice for the most part but still has her moments. Change will be interesting.

SS you're doing great. We're all so proud of you and I can't imagine the heat you are enduring. Shoot, we're excited with the notion of a high of 53 on Wednesday. Today was sunny but cool and windy but the sun sure helped so we'll take it!

WG, sounds like lots of hours for you. Glad you'll get a little time for yourself. I'm sure you have big Easter plans to tend to.

LG, I loved the photo of Brooke at Mass. Bias? Nah. LOL Look forward to hearing about the trip to Nashville today.

Weezie, hope you had a great time shopping with Kelly and how nice of you to offer to go along to hold Claire. LOL She is growing so fast and I know Kelly isn't thrilled with going back to work. So how will your help in providing care work with her night shift? What's Brandon's schedule?

PJ, you home yet?

Tammy, how are things in your world with the kids and work?

Okay, I need to scoot and get dinner going. I need a little down time tonight as well. Hope you all had a great day!

Went to see the kids this morning and made the rounds grocery shopping 3 different stores. We had a new Sprouts open while we were gone so I had to check that out. I really like that store and it seems to have good prices.

I sat down yesterday and looked up recipes and scheduled what we are eating for a few days before buying groceries. I tell myself I am going to do that all the time but I just am not good at following through consistently.

Sharon sounds like you and Norm may leave early just because of the temps. You might be getting ready to leave anyway?!

SEK are going to try and go to Shipshe?

I love Mondays! It seems like the start of a whole new week - clean slate! At least in my mind. I also head to the bedroom by 7pm, so I can watch DWTS! It starts at 7 here in AZ and Norm has no interest so I'm banned to the bedroom!

It's another hot day so I'm getting some of my walking in this morning. Last night I tried to walk outside and it was still too warm so I went to the exercise room and did the TM in the a/c. It helped me get my 10,000 steps in.

In our Challenge with the RV team, our mini challenge for this week is to replace one meal a day with a protein shake. Well, I've been deligent but my weight is going up instead of down! What's up with that? We'll see what develops. My body is probably just adjusting as I've dropped 5 lbs in the last two weeks.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement. I couldn't do it without my Spark Friends.

I finally watched Noah last night. I usually wait until movies get released to tv to see them. I can see why Sharon was less than thrilled about it. Not at all what I expected. Definitely not a movie I would recommend anyone to see.

I'll be shopping with Kelly a little later this morning. She needs some new work scrubs and I volunteered to hold Claire.

Have a Great Monday!

Been a busy weekend. We went to Columbus and met up with the family and went to Mass there. Brooke served and she did a wonderful job. But she always does!! I'm not a biased gramma!! emoticon We went out to eat to celebrate Carmen's birthday and had a great time. They will all be here next Sunday for Easter. Thomas and I will go to early Mass here and they will go there as Brooke sings at the 8:30a.m. Mass.

Sharon....you look emoticon Just emoticon you'll make your goal and make your doctor sit up and take notice!!

WG, glad you got a chance to just putter around. Some times that is really nice. Wish our weather would cooperate and I could get outside.

PJ, glad you are getting settled back into your "home" routine.

Tammy, keep your chin up and everything will work out for your DD. Sounds like she is pretty strong even with that diagnoses.

Weezie2, hope that you and Kelly enjoyed church together.

Weezie, you are coming down to the wire and I know that you are excited for this weekend. Wish I could be there with you. Just not possible. Tell Gary to take a ton of pictures and send me some!!

Went to the museum this morning and we baked 15 pies and froze them and rolled pie dough. We are over 500 now and on the down hill slide!! Our freezers are bursting!!

Tomorrow I'm going with Sharynn to Nashville, IND to tour a lodge for a possible quilt retreat. She wants me to help her get it going. Will work at SVDP in the morning and than go over there with her in the afternoon.

Also, got my pay check for 2 days last week.... emoticon goes in my "stash" for Shipshe!!!

Wow, Sharon, you look fantastic! You've got to feel that good as well.

Got called of work today. I'm on call for 14 more minutes, but am done for the day. Get paid a whopping $2 an hour for the privilege. I've got tons of vacation and am hitting the limit and will no longer accrue so it is best that I "spend" some taking the day off.

DS#4 stopped by for some plastic eggs his wife needed for a Sunday School Lesson. I have plenty, so it is not a problem.

PJ, glad you got to visit your dad and MIL. It has to be hard leaving them.

Weezie2, so glad you get to go to church with your DD. It makes it fun for both of you.

I'm not getting much done sitting here. Been reading today since I can't start anything. It is nice outside and I'm enjoying it.

Have a wonderful day.

Thanks everyone for your kinds words on my weight loss. Originally, my Dr said 40-50 lbs and I didn't think I could make even 40 but I reached that last week. I now have set 50 lbs as my goal and hope to reach it during our RV Challenge. I know some of you saw my pics on the other team but I'm posting again here just so the rest can see. The first one is from last Sept, cropped from the group picture taken at our Branson rally. The second was taken a week ago with the new haircut.

Spent some time with dad yesterday and took him his socks and new shirt. It was like oh I need new ones? Also will be shopping for more shirts after looking his are really in bad shape even though he doesnít think so.

Went to see MIL today she is doing fine also.

If the weather forecast is correct for the middle of the week it may be dry enough and warm enough that I can work in cleaning up flower beds. I did put some cutting I brought back from Texas into my porch pots today.

Tammy I hope that DDs med will help her. We may have to do a bit of mowing (the high spots this week. DS is to be baptized the Sunday after Easter.

He and his fiancť have many ups and downs. But right now the deceased husbands Father is under hospice care (and that where she and the boys live) so lots of stress for all parties. Not sure how their situation is going to work cause right now when things get too bad DS goes back to his house. He wonít be able to do that when they are all moved into his house. All we can do is be there for moral support and hope it all works out for them.

We have no Easter plans at this point other than staying home. I will look into buying a ham to fix this wee.

Weezie did you find a dress? Is that message a computer virus?

Sharon you are doing so good. I can hardly wait to hear what your doctor has to say.

Happy Sunday!

I've got a few hours before I meet up with Kelly for church with Claire.

We went shopping yesterday to get Claire a few summer outfits. Boston Store was suppose to have a really good sale. I think sales are just a ploy to get you into their store. We were very selective at what we even looked at and did find a few deals with Kelly's extra 30%. It's not a store I go into very often. The Penny's store is closing and they were well picked over. I did find Kami some jeans at 75% off. Another store that was closing had their fixtures on sale so I picked a rack up for hanging our purses on for the craft fairs we do. Kelly has one of the swaddle carriers and Claire was quite content shopping that way.

Enjoy your day....I'm off to accomplish a few things before Mass.

Hi, Seesters!

Indeed, the knowledge of the diagnosis [which I "knew" anyway] has indeed been a downer, and for once I wish I had NOT been right. WG, I do think with her that the episodes are somewhat seasonally affected, and definitely with stress with things that constantly change. I told DH we should have "expected" this latest after her surgery/job change/deer hitting her car/etc. My "mom sense" has again been right on target with this latest, and I don't know if that is a blessing or a curse - likely a bit of both and even that shall change as days change. There are several things about her situation that are a blessing to this point, so I guess as with anything it will be what we make it. I see lots of walking in my immediate future, and that is a good thing, is it not? emoticon

I did some fabric cutting and today I really need to get into the She Cave to sew blocks together. WG, thanks for the Pinterest info - I think you maybe mentioned that to me some time back, even.

SS, I really enjoyed new clothes a couple of years ago - you are doing so very well!

PJ, when is DS's baptism? It should be soon, now, I am thinking, since you are home.
Joe told me he is going to mow for the first time tomorrow - the yard should be dried out from our rainy days.

Hello to everyone! Have a good day!

Hi Seesters. Worked today but that means I have next weekend off. It was interesting. Had a patient who had a difficult family. Maybe past difficult, but it is an observation that most families who are difficult are not willing to stay and be involved in the care of their family members. They don't stay with them, help with meals, know what is going on. It is difficult but true.

Tammy, so sad that your DD has that diagnosis. It is such a hard one. Borderline is also hard but they do often go hand in hand. I hope she does well with the medication adjustment. It may take a couple of months before she will know. I hope things settle down for you. Sometimes I think the seasons make a difference. I know DIL struggles more at some times of the year.

SS, it is fun to have so many new clothes. I don't like the pull on pants either, but the tie waists are nice for the changing sizes. Then you can at least wear pants that don't fall down. I'm so glad you are on target for your goal. That should make a difference. A 7% weight loss and 150 minutes of exercise a week will bring your A1C down to good numbers. I'm thinking you will have to eat carefully anyway, but should be able to get by without meds. Depends on what your initial numbers were, but you are making a big difference.

LG, working in a quilt shop sounds fun. I'm sure you would enjoy it. Hope you enjoyed Carmen's birthday. How quickly they grow up.

Weezie2, the egg hunt sounds fun. I have a lot of plastic eggs. The kids get a dozen eggs and all are color/pattern coded and they hunt until their eggs are found. Then the eggs to into a bag until the next year. The little ones get their eggs put down in plain sight in a small area and the bigger children go everywhere. Rules are the eggs have to be in plain sight and not buried. We can offer hints at some point but the hunter has to be very frustrated before that happens.

Got to get outside and gather dog leavings and other leavings before the kids come next week. I think DD will help at some point but Fabio and I will probably go out on Tuesday and do some cleaning and I can put up the toddler swing for the little ones.

Off to bed now. I'm tired and ready to go to sleep. Tomorrow is another day.

Sorry, I've not been here as much as usual. I worked 2 days for Sharynn at her quilt shop during the shop hop. It was so much fun and I just might be working 1 day a week for her to fill in. Not sure.

Thomas went with me on the shop hop and I saw some amazing quilts. Got some fabric and one or two patterns. I am planning on making the quilt that Sharynn did for the shop hop. Saw lots of old friends too.

WG, I agree with Sharon....an Easter brunch with an egg cassarole, fruit, muffins and maybe some rolls and sausage or ham would be wonderful.

Sharon, you are one awesome lady...none of us will know you when you get to Shipshe this year!!!

Tammy, my heart aches for you and your DD. Prayers and hugs.

Weezie2, I like the idea of the color coded eggs for the kids. We did that here for our grands.

Weezie, know that you enjoy your grandkids but it is nice to have a weekend free. Enjoy your time!

We are heading to Columbus later today to celebrate Carmen's 11th birthday. My how time flys!!

Had my WI today and I'm down a pound. I'm hoping that I can lose one pound each week until our 10 week challenge is over and that will put me back where I want to be. I've crossed my fingers!

My sister does the different color eggs for each of her kids. They even had a different color for my mom so she could have fun hunting eggs too. I've heard of assigning numbers and each child can only collect their own number. I know it will be a year or 2 before Claire's old enough for the hunt. I gave my daughter a box of diapers for her this year. This G'ma likes to be practical.

I need to get out in the yard the next nice day we have and get rid of the last of the leaves so there's a nice clean area to hunt. emoticon

I hit over 10,000 steps every day this past week. That's a first for me! And it showed at the scale this morning. I am down another 2.4 lbs and still on track to meet my 50 lb goal by the time we leave. It seems like I'm losing really fast but I averaged it all out and I'm losing at a rate of 1.67 lbs a week. Even my Dr. will be pleased with me. I just pray my A1C is down and I don't have to go on meds. That is my ultimate goal.

WG - perhaps for Easter you could do a Brunch style luncheon with a Breakfast Casserole, some muffins and a fruit bowl. That would work if they are all heading out to an Easter Dinner somewhere else.

Weezie - good luck on finding a dress. You need a white dress with colored flowers on it. That is so in right now and you deserve a new outfit!

Weezie2 - your Easter Hunt with Kami will be fun. I read a tip for Easter Hunts with multiple children. They said assign a color to each child and that is the color eggs they must find. It keeps the bigger kids from finding all of them and keeps all the kids happy and entertained. I thought that was a great idea!

Tammy - with the diagnosis your DD has, I'm afraid you will go through difficult times all her life. Hopefully, the drs will keep right on it and the med adjustment will do the trick. Her BF must love her to be so supportive and stick with her. My nephew couldn't take it and left his wife that had similar issues. He tried so hard as they had a small child. It's a shame as she retained custody of the little boy and he just doesn't have a stable home life. Mike has him as much as he can and that has helped. Oh dear, I didn't mean for that to be a downer. Every one is different and Jenny has a huge support system as many continue to pray for her.

Not sure what's on my agenda today. I may go over to a new Thrift Store. Everything is 50% off today. I bought a couple of cheap pull on shorts the other day but I don't care for pull ons so I'm still looking......

Weezie....if you can't find a new dress for the Easter Vigil you could wear the one you picked up in Shipsee last year with your red shoes.

We plan on an egg hunt earlier in the afternoon for Kami. I'll have a few things for Claire too so Kami will get the idea that her little cousin will be joining her when she gets bigger. We won't have Easter dinner until after 6. It will be a long, but fun day for sure.

I need to get busy.

Have a Great Saturday!

Good morning to you all!

I see sunshine at the moment but know it is cold but I'll take the sunshine. Yes indeed.

No Ava this weekend so we are kid free. Been awhile but will enjoy. I need to run errands, get a tire looked at as the stupid low pressure keeps coming on and DH keeps filling but I don't get it in for an oil change til the 6th. So will take it somewhere local this morning for them to see if they can find a leak of some sort. Dang cars anyway.

I also want to shop for a new dress for the Easter vigil. Not sure why but just something bright and cheery. Hope I can find something today otherwise I'll just see what is hanging in my closest and go from there.

WG your Easter sounds great. I may see Ava for an Easter egg hunt as her mama won't do it and she really wants to have one. So we'll see.

Okay you all, have you heard of this? DH works with a young man who recently went to get into his laptop and he had this message indicating his computer was being held for RANSOM and he had 72 hours to send $$ to some encrypted site to the tune of $500 or he'd not get his files back. He has a teenage daughter and unsure where this may have come from but she's not one of these kids who would surf to exotic sorts of places but really? Hold your computer files for ransom. I'm sure some would pay especially if sensitive is out there. I decided I'm printing some things I've saved like a list of passwords, etc. as if it happened to me, I'd be like no way am I giving you $$. What in the world is this WORLD coming to? I also saw recently that an ISIS flag was hanging from the side of a vehicle in the Detroit area. Really too close for comfort. We live in very scary days and I worry for all our little ones and their future. Sorry to be Debbie downer today but had to get off my chest.

So on that note, I need to get my rear in gear. Breakfast and plan of attack to get things done. Doing church tonight and tomorrow have a bridal shower. Busy weekend but short week next week but busy. All good. Starting to think about 'sister' camp in June and Shipsee right after I return. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

SS great job on all those steps. You're rockin it girl.

PJ, glad you had two days of sunshine.

Tammy, sorry about the daughter and do hope Easter turns out nicely for you.

LG, how was the shop hop?

Weezie, plans for Easter with the kids and Easter egg hung with Kami?

Judy, are you on spring break yet or is it over for you there? Josh done with school? When is the next movie?

Okay, hello to everyone else. I gotta scoot. Enjoy your weekend!

Hi, Seesters!

We are going thru some things with DD again right now, but I am hoping that since she is on meds that the meds adjustment that was already in process will help things not be as bad as two years ago when they were so very bad. She found out on Wednesday that she has had a bipolar diagnosis all along, in addition to a secondary diagnosis of the borderline personality disorder. I kept wondering why she was on the meds she was with all of my research if she wasn't bipolar. I can't imagine she didn't "hear" the diagnosis two years ago, but I wasn't there. As far as I know, BF is still being supportive. We shall see. She IS extremely high functioning with it all, which is a good thing.

As of right now, we have been invited to the oldest SD's for Easter...let's see, they lost grandpa on dad's side in August, they just lost stepgrandpa on mom's side last week...we WERE invited just before the last passing, but it is just kind of ironic...as for a light lunch, I do not know, WG...but it sounds fun at your house!

Have a good day....

Hi Seesters. I'm home today and have had several children visit. I didn't get much done, but had a nice visit. It was so nice outside, it was a shame I didn't go outside much, but I'm like a vampire and avoid the sun.

SS, love your walking. It is an amazing exercise. You get so strong and feel so much better. And sleeping is magic.

PJ, glad you got adjusted and have shopped for your dad. Sometimes you just have to do that to get things worn.

Any ideas for a light lunch for Easter? The kids are coming at noon. Some of them have other plans for Easter and the egg hunt is really fun.

Tammy, I have found a lot of doll clothes patterns on Pinterest. Most take a fat quarter or less. Not a bad deal.

Have a great day all.

Good Afternoon!
Boy, all this walking cuts in to my computer time! Not necessarily a bad thing though. While I was Sparking this morning my neighbor came and asked if I wanted to walk to the 99 cent store with her so off I went. We got over 7,000 steps to and from the store. Then I had to go over to one of our neighbors to give my sympathies. Her DH fell on Monday, she called 911 and they took him to the hospital. He has been on dialysis 3 times a week and has steadily been going downhill all season. The hospital transferred him to Hospice and said it was a matter of time. He went so quickly but it was peaceful. He passed at 9:30 last night. In fact, the family was sitting with him and when the nurse came in and checked on him, he had already passed and they didn't even know. So our street is all grieving for the loss of one of our own.

I just finished eating our new favorite meal. I fry up 4 slices of bacon in small bite size pieces. Then I add a bag of Cole Slaw Mix (large size which has 100 cal total) Fry it up and it is so yummy. Today I also added 1/2 zuchinni that I used my Veghetti to make noodles out of it. Then I had some S/F Jello w/FF Cool Whip. I am full and happy. And tomorrow is WI so no eating out on Fridays!

Second day of sunshine in a row YEA emoticon I think I will go out and fill the bird feeders and put one of my hummingbird feeders up for those early birds that come along.

Went to the chiropractor this morning which was much needed. Now I shouldn't have my headaches. A sure sign for me that I need an adjustment. Did a bit of shopping bought dad some new socks and a shirt to surprise him with tomorrow. He does not go shopping and hates to buy clothes so this way I can see him in something new. Hopefully he will wear the shirt. I will probably throw away all his old socks so he will have to wear the new ones.

Still doing laundry but should get it all caught up today.

Didn't get here yesterday....just too tired when I got home from working at Sharynn's. I'm not used to standing for almost 8 hours!! Worked again today and I still need to get the church ironing done for church. I'm baking at church tomorrow morning than Thomas and I are going on the Shop Hop. It will be lots of fun.

Weezie2, I remember that the reservation is in your name because Weezie is just a young pup!!! I too am looking forward to Lolly's but Weezie has found a new one for us to go to in Michigan. So we'll be doing a road trip one day!!

Now I need to get busy....sorry I can't talk to everyone. After things settle down, I'll be back.

We got home Tuesday afternoon. I think we finally have everything unpacked now I am catching up with the laundry which may take a couple of days (rugs etc).

I did go out for a walk this morning before my haircut appointment. It sure felt good to get out and walk in the sunshine and to get a haircut. Both were needed.

My knitting group is almost non existent now so I have been told. I will go next week and see if anyone shows up. This makes me sad so I may have to try and find another one somehow. Maybe go back to the one at one of the local churches but will hunt around for options.

My trip to the casino was a losing situation. Thank God, I stop at $20. We were there three hours though so I had lots of fun for the money!

This morning we are meeting friends at Denny's for brunch. I like Denny's as it's easy to stay within my calorie limit. We're meeting them because after we eat, we want to go get our meds refilled and I am hoping to get a couple pair of shorts that fit me. I have NO shorts and with the temps averaging in the 90's, I need to have a couple to wear.

I'm off for my first walk of the day. I've been over 10,000 a day since Saturday so I have to keep my streak going!

Hi, Seesters!

SS, I do hope one day that my BF and I will be walking when we make our monthly "rendezvous" - however, since she is retiring from the high school this late May, it may be more than monthly, regardless. She will be visiting a favorite state park of ours in June with her new Casita trailer, and one of my favorite things to do there is walk, so I bet it will happen then. She and Joe are both trout fisherpeople as well....regardless, it does sound like fun. Did you win some $$$$$?

I am looking forward to our getting to Shipshe this year. emoticon [No reservations yet, but it will be in the next few days, I think, SS, and I will let you know.]

I have some school stuff to do over this next few days, and some sewing to do. I thought I needed to garden as well, but we have a chance of snow flurries amidst rain tomorrow, so it may be a bit early yet.

Good Afternoon!
I met my GF this morning and we got a nice walk in. It goes so much easier when you're busy talking! I got 51 active minutes. We did stop at our resort's Cafe and had a drink and a good gab fest before we walked some more.

I'm home now but this afternoon we're doing a casino run. It's her birthday so they asked us to go and help celebrate with her. I am hoping I win again (who doesn't). Wish me luck!

I didn't want to post twice in a row...lol

The sensor has to do with the engine timing so it's definitely in my best interest to get it fixed.

I finished the last 2 pillowcases I wanted to give Kami for Easter. She's a big Paw Patrol fan so she'll be happy to get them. I have enough fabric left so I'm going to make her a small tote to carry her action figures around in.

Mom and I decorated her tree last night with Easter decorations so it's festive and current for her. We're hoping it helps with her memory. We kept up her small Christmas tree because otherwise she sits in a darker room than she needs too. It's kind of sad but when she was looking at a photo album last night she couldn't remember that her mother had sisters. A mind is a terrible thing to lose.

I've been busy with my spring cleaning. Hopefully I'll have my garbage and recycling bins full this week.

Have a Great Wednesday!

Good morning Seesters. It is amazing when I'm the first one on in the morning.

Am "on call" this morning for the last time until September. I'm looking forward to an extra day off every other week. I'm looking forward to taking care of me a bit more.

Weezie2, I'm sorry it is a sensor thing but I'm glad you have good people you trust.

PJ, glad you got home safely. Now to take care of the things waiting for you. It has to be nice not having to worry about floating away.

Have a great day all. I'm sewing a bit today and doing a couple of other things.

I'm afraid we're looking at sensors and those things are not on the cheap side at all. emoticon My repair guy is going to do some research and we're planning on tying up my car over Easter break to get it taken care of. Hopefully it will only be a couple of days. Depends what he finds once he opens up the engine. That's his specialty so I know it will get done right.

Shipsee is such a treat. I only missed once since we started and that was the year mom went into the nursing home. The hotel room is reserved in my name this year because I qualified for the senior discount and Weezie didn't...lol I can't wait to see what Lolly's has for us this year. I always spend $$$ there. There are those yarn shops I'd like to check out too.

I'm off to visit mom. I have Easter decorations for her room so that should keep us busy.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Afternoon ladies,

Just a quick pop in before RCIA tonight. Dinner is cooking so this will be brief.

I did read through the thread and of course had to chuckle about the husbands trying to keep track of whose who and which team you know spark sisters from, etc. I think it is great fun that we are able to meet and WG I do hope that one day you'll be able to join us.

Weezie, hope your car is an easy, and not too costly, fix. I agree with not being stranded with the little ones and of course we want you in Shipsee!!

Okay, I apologize but the timer just went off. Gotta tend to dinner. Hope you all had a great day! I'll check back tomorrow.

Tammy and Sharon, Thomas is the same way when I talk about you gals!! So funny!!

Weezie2, sorry about the car. You know, you'd think that as expensive as they are that they would never have a problem!!

Weezie, you would make an awesome sponsor! Go for it!! I'm hoping that I can go to the RCIA next year. And just so you know....us cradle Catholics can learn a ton more than we know now!! We have a program here every Wednesday during Lent. Each year is a different subject. This year was on the Mass. I bought the book and had plans to go. Have had something else come up each week!!

WG, sorry about the doctor chewing on you. I can vividly remember when I worked at a hospital and some doctor got on a tirade and was screaming at some nurse. She stood her ground and asked him to step inside a small room. When she came out, she went to her supervisor told her what happened and offered her resignation. It was refused!!! Not sure what she said but I'm sure she wasn't too nice!!

Got to run and get a few things done before time to cook supper.

Tammy - I laugh because Norm is always asking me which team are we meeting and who do I know. It further confuses him that so many of us are on the same but different team. Oh well, I'm glad he's always game to meet whichever team is in the works. I must have missed an important post as I am at a loss over you mentioning your niece being gone. Sorry to ask, but could you refresh us on what that is all about.

Weezie2 - I hope the light is an inexpensive fix! You'll want to save your money for Lolly's, lol.

Weezie - you continue to stay busy with work, Ava and your church. Volunteering to be a sponsor for next year would be more growth for you so I think it would be a plus. It is fun to have a walking partner. I am walking to meet my GF in the morning so we can chat and get some exercise at the same time.

WG - it appears you had a bad day at work! Drs are human too and getting irate is understandable but hopefully he'll look at the whole picture and not your part in the situation!
I never got to read my book afterall. One of our friends who will be leaving this weekend ended up stopping over so we sat outside in lawn chairs and had a nice visit until quite late. The moon was beautiful and that got us in to a big discussion about a Blood Moon. We should have one on April 4th so I hope we can see it.

Good morning. It is getting late in the morning. Finally Enterprise went to sleep and DIL who stopped by has gone home. We had a good visit but the kids got tired and we needed to take a break. She has been struggling with depression as well and has not been as "present" as she sometimes is.

Weezie, I'm glad you enjoyed the time with Ava this past weekend. I do enjoy soccer with the little ones. I only have one set of grands playing right now and they are all at the same place. When the kids have several activities, it becomes a lot harder. I'm glad you have found some people you might walk with. I think it is a good idea to sponsor someone else. I think we often learn even more when helping others learn because we have to be more prepared.

Weezie2, I'm sorry the "easy fix" didn't work. It is such a pain having car problems, but I agree that having problems when traveling or with the babies in the car.

Tammy, I love the feeling of being "groomed" and feeling prettier. I'm sorry your niece is gone. I hope she is safe no matter what else she has decided. What a sad thing to lose high school graduation for something else.

I hope the visitation goes well. It is interesting how we sometimes know things when we shouldn't. I hope your husband's ex is comforted.

I'm going to make lunch for the gunslinger. And do laundry, the never ending choice.

The talk about Shipsee is making me jealous, but one day I'll make it. I do enjoy your stories and fun.

Hi, Seesters!

A new trim and a new highlighting and I feel like a new woman!

Shipshee - lets see...I would see some seesters, I would get to walk, I would get to see fabric, I would get pie - Win/Win/Win/Win!

Joe was asking today who he would know besides Sharon and Norm; I think it is likely confusing when I talk about Sparkteams...I see a few folks from the Spark Springfield [MO] team, and then he met like ten members from RV Enthusiasts, and then I talk about this team, and then I needed to visit on the phone with a fellow member of the BLC 27 team I am on this morning...I bet is IS rather confusing. emoticon

My niece is still gone and likely will be for some time, but I am happy to say my DS is going to two doctors' appointments today that she set up yesterday. I am telling her that she has to take care of herself or she cannot take care of anyone else....hmmmmm....wonder where that came from? emoticon

The visitation and funeral for my stepdaughters' stepdad [I know that could be confusing as well] will be tonight and tomorrow. We have little Tank Dog and have had since Saturday night. Luckily the stepdaughter that lives here has bereavement leave at the hospital; she plans to be back sometime on Thursday.

One thing that has been somewhat interesting - My husband's exwife is in the later stages of early onset Alzheimer's, and it has been somewhat interesting that the girls think she did indeed know some of what was going on as their stepdad was passing away. The care center she was in called them on Saturday afternoon that they couldn't get her to calm, and she was just beside herself with "He is passing and I'm not there", so the oldest SD and husband came to get her, and the passing happened just about the time they got her to the hospital. She sat with them with him after the passing for a bit, and washed his face, etc. Later that evening, she was quite upset, and needed meds to become calm again, but she had a better day yesterday, so that was better for the "girls". She hasn't known individuals for 2?3? years now and yet she seemed to sense what was happening.

I do hope PJ is having safe travels back home to the KC area.

Have a good day, Seesters!

I wish I lived closer. I do better with a walking buddy emoticon

My engine light has to do with a timing issue. I need to take it back today. My light was back on after 6 miles. We're hoping for a less expensive fix so we're starting with the easier stuff first. If we end up replacing sensors it's not going to be cheap. I don't want car trouble on the road to Shipsee or when I've got the grandbabies in the car.

Have a Great Tuesday!

Good morning all,

Just popping in from work to let you know I was alive. I'm not sure why but I tend to avoid the computer in the evening. No real good reason other than tired and a bit out of sorts. I do apologize.

PJ, all that rain looks miserable but so is the snow we got yesterday. It did melt off but boy was it depressing. Cold this morning but tomorrow should be about 40 and rain. Oh the muddy season is upon us. The part of spring I don't care for.

Weezie, sorry about the car and hope that pesky engine light stays away. I hate those things. I keep getting a low air pressure on my tires light and not sure why. Happened again yesterday so we'll see how it goes now that we've addressed yet again. Last time I took it in I had them check and they found a leak in one which seemed to have corrected the problem but now it is starting again.

Tammy, I too am excited that you will be joining us in Shipsee. It is always fun for sure and Pat will bring pie so we'll have to plan accordingly. It is always so yummy. Walks will be on the agenda!!!

SEK, I love your posts on FB about wine. You kill me girl. Do you have your pool open already? I think we still have ice on top of ours.

WG, sorry about the rain and I'm with you that I hope it levels out here soon. I'd be happy if we got a little sunshine!! Would likely help the mood for sure.

LG, glad you were able to decide on a computer and one that you'll feel comfortable with. Change is hard I know and you've been a patient lady. Now about that spring cleaning. Golly, it is gonna take awhile and I need some time off. Will take me awhile. Now to get the ambition to do it!

Work is work. Just biding my time and hoping for changes soon. Stress doesn't help I'm sure.

Enjoyed our Ava time over the weekend. Getting ready for Easter and the big vigil at church. This journey this past year has been one of great peace and fulfillment. Although this is the crescendo to the process, I think I would like to be a sponsor for someone next year if the need arises. Just for me to keep going I guess. I have enjoyed the process and look forward to my Tuesday evenings with this group.

Next week is a short work week and I'm happy about that. I think I'll take the Monday after Easter off and use that day to get some things done at home. Now to figure out my plan of attack and whittle away at the list.

So I've been struggling with getting out to walk due to weather mostly (I've become a wimp) and walking the country roads alone. Ironically, last night DH informed me that once it warms a bit, he would be willing to walk with me. So now I have no excuses plus I recently ran into a gal I used to work with at the previous school I worked at and probably haven't seen in over 10 years (grocery store of all places) and learned she moved closer to me so I may have someone else I can tap on the shoulder to walk. So we'll see.

Now I need to get to work but wanted to wish you all a great day!

Good evening. Raining today but not enough to make up for the dry winter. I do wish we could equalize the water a bit. Still, it was a nice day.

Had some great patients and one irate doctor but that is life. I'm pretty sure that most of the problem had to do with other things but I was the last straw and I'll catch the blame.

Weezie2, hope the car works better. The computer is supposed to tell the exact thing that is wrong with the car. I hope they did what you need. I've had a light for really dumb things like a loose gas cap and driving fast up a hill.

Judy, I bought a cheap tablet also and ended up throwing it away. It was useless. I love my tablet now. I use it all the time.

LG, I have an HP and love mine. I've had it a couple of years and it still works great but I don't usually expect more than 5 years from a laptop. I've got a portable hard drive to back up my files. I'm happy with that.

PJ, travel safe. I can see that it wouldn't be fun to have to set up camp to just leave again in a few days.

SS, enjoy your book.

Tammy, hope school went well today.

Good Evening!
I started my day off busy and have stayed that way all day. I got our taxes done, refreshed all our memberships and things that were due before we hit the road again.

We made a nice dinner of rib eye steaks on the grill, with a Riviera Salad and cauliflower.

Now I'm ready to crash. I'm in the middle of a book I hope to finish this evening.

LG - I dont think you can go wrong with the HP Envy. I envy you after all the problems I've been having. Knock on wood, I'm still doing well and it hasn't crashed any more.

SEK - I remember how yucky it was getting our pool ready to open every year. All the smelly icky leaves. It's one job I'm glad to be rid of.

Tammy - Norm and I are both excited about you camping with us at Shipshe. Let me know when you know that it is a definite so I can make reservations so we can be right next to each other.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations on the computer. I've decided to go with an HP Envy laptop. A little more money than I intended to spend but I'm like you Judy, you get what you pay for. The guy told me that they have very few problems with the HPs. I know that I didn't have any problems with mine until the hard drive crashed. I should have just bought a new one then but didn't. emoticon You would think at my "advanced" age I would learn!!

PJ, so glad that you and Frank decided to leave rather than wait it out. You be safe on the road.

Judy, we will be cleaning out our pond soon but it has been running (waterfall) most of the winter except when it froze completely. Our fish are all fine and wanting to be fed!!

Weezie2, yuck to the snow but while we were in INDY today it snowed, sleeted and rained all at the same time!!! Nasty weather!!

Got all my presents bought today....baby gift and presents for Carmen. So that little chore is done!!

emoticon to everyone....I'm tired and headed to bed soon. emoticon

I just got home from having my car worked on. I had a check engine light on and we all know how vague that can be. I had the engine flushed for the first time after they added a cleaner to the oil on Friday. I'm hoping this takes care of the problem.

I woke to snow on the ground. One nice thing about it snowing now is it never lasts too long before the temps warm up and melt it away.

Have a Great Monday!

Lily our computer is a desktop, it is an all in one so there is no tower just a flat screen with everything in it somewhere. We need a new laptop and I'm sure we'll get an HP. I just bought a notebook type thing before we went on our summer vacation last year and the hard drive is already going out. We didn't pay much for it so we decided just to let it go. It's an off brand and I guess that's what I get for trying to save a couple dollars.

Got the water features all up and running so that's done. Had to bathe the dogs after because they both decided to role in the smelly gooey leaves and junk that we cleaned out of them. It doesn't seem to matter how well I think I get them covered for the winter they still get junk in them.

Pj watch out for that water, it can come up quick. Be careful.

Hi, Seesters!

It has been a quiet weekend here for the most part. There are a couple of "things" - the gentleman my husband's ex married has had a massive heart attack and then another attack, and as of 10 a.m. this morning they didn't expect him to last the hour, and then my niece took off with a guy two months before her high school graduation - never a dull moment - but regardless, DH and I have had a quiet, nice weekend.

I have the Shipshe dates written down as well as the specific campground, SS. Thanks!

I sewed for a bit two days ago and looked at fabric for a bit yesterday...Perhaps I will get "a bit" finished some time! emoticon

Good Afternoon (already!)

I got a good walk in this morning as I walked to the grocery store. I wanted to buy some portabella mushrooms to make stuffed mushrooms for lunch. They were yummy and I already burned more calories than they contained so I'm good to go.

I returned my FitBit to BB&B. They didn't hesitate to do an exchange. I actually upgraded to the Charge. I couldn't sync to my phone and the LED lights drove me nuts. This one displays the number of steps so I don't have to check on my computer all day long! Plus it tells time so after all my complaining, I'm actually glad it turned out this way. Plus, I still haven't heard back from their tech support so I would still be waiting!

My desktop computer at home is an HP. I really like it. My daughter had an HP that had problems after her warranty was up. Customer service suggested she ship it back. They not only fixed it and returned it running like new but the turn around was in less than a week and it was no charge. They told her they want her happy so she'll praise HP! Well, I think it was good marketing on their part. I was impressed and I'm passing it on.

Gotta go - I'm meeting a group of women up at the courtyard. We have a former resident here visiting so it's a chance for us all to visit with her during her limited time here. It should be a good gab fest. I just ate my mushroom so I should be able to avoid all the snack foods that will be there.

Judy, is it a laptop? I'll look into to it. The one I have is an HP and I never had a bit of trouble with it until the hard drive crashed and I had it replaced. But like the tech said, it is 8 yrs old!!

PJ, stay dry!! That pic on FB is a bit scary!!

A gal who comes to the museum made some biscuits today that were to die for!! I loved them and ate 2!! emoticon Only redeeming fact is that they were small!!

Sharon, WOW another 2 lb. loss!! That is awesome!! I'm really hitting it hard this week as I want a good WI on Saturday.

We are celebrating Carmen's birthday next Saturday and we will be eating out. Hope she doesn't want Mexican. Too much salt!!

Latest for us is it is dry for now and there is water everywhere. We were told that can't release any water out of the lake and to expect it to rise another 3-5 feet. So we may be relocating to a higher campsite and possible just decide to go home if that happens. We are keeping a close eye on the backside of our campsite which is just a few feet from the shore

Lily I bought a new computer the first of the year. It's an HP Envy and I love it, it's the second HP I've had.

PJ no I haven't mowed but I'm thinking by the weekend it will need it. We got some rain and now it's in the 70's and the grass loves all this. The neighbors mowed but I think it was to clean up the leaves they never raked. I'm going to hold off as long as possible cause it can still get cold enough to hurt the young sprouts if you take away their cover.

Just installed a new router and I hope this takes care of getting kicked off the internet. I didn't know you had to buy different routers when you had all kinds of stuff in the house using the WiFi. Live and learn.

Walked to church and back this morning and now I'm ready to work on the water features, if I can get some help.

Have a great day and talk to y'all when I can.

Evening....

I spent 5 hours at the museum today and will go again tomorrow and roll pie dough for 4 hrs!! WG, I enjoy it and it is fun to get out and be with other people. Since I don't work anymore, I don't see a lot of people.

Our weather is beautiful today 68 degrees and sunny all day. Just beautiful. Would have been nice to work outside.

Sharon, I'm looking at an HP and talked with a techie today and he said that they really are one of the best. So that is probably what I'll go with. Did you get a touch screen? I don't plan to get one as everyone has said that they are useless!! About the FitBit, I'd take it back to BB&B. I'm sure that they'll take it back. I too am an Omron person.

PJ, sorry about all the rain. That is awful.

Tammy, hope that you can join us in Shipshe. And Sharon is right about the dates. Weezie and I have our reservations already made for those dates at the Van Buren Hotel. Very nice place.

Need to get off of here and let Thomas have this computer.

We are having lots and lots of rain 5" in less than 24 hours and its still coming down hard. Just got back from town getting groceries and eating lunch out. Now time to read and knit.

I donít think Frank and I will make it to Shipshe this summer.

Sharon good weigh in I am pleased with my 1.2 loss also. A good start on my mini goal.

Tammy and SEK have either of you had to mow yard yet? Iím thinking that may be one of the other first things we are going to have to do when we get home.

Morning!

I had a good WI this morning with a 2.6 lbs loss. Well on my way to reaching my goal for our Challenge so that made me happy.

So far my computer seems to be working fine so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I am still dealing with Fit Bit Support. They sent a response but basically asked me to clean and do things I already did! They even said they know I said I did it but they want to verify I went through all the steps! Are they saying they don't believe my first email but will believe it when I tell them again??? Sounds like a waste of time but I complied and sent them another email. Now I'm in the holding mode again.

It's a beautiful spring day here so I'm going to ignore not having my FitBit and go for a nice walk today.

Hi, Seesters!

WG, don't think anything about your advice - in fact, this team is the best! I am of the opinion that it probably would be best if they moved closer to the grandparents/great grandparents of the little ones. Cost of living is less, etc. However, I try to live with an "I don't see the big picture" motto these days emoticon and that includes the fact that Tammy doesn't have to "save" everyone emoticon and there is something to be learned from figuring it out on your own. The mom has a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and posted on FB yesterday that she thinks she would like to be a doula and that Creative Writing was a useless degree. I am shaking my head over various things in that whole scenario. Of course, I do not have a child who is basically eventually terminal, so I try to not judge.

It is a sunshiny day here, friends - SEK you should have a wonderful day to drive to Joplin, I am thinking - and I have sheets drying outside - LOVE THAT! It's a few more steps but worth it to sleep on the sun- and breeze- dried sheets. I have paid some bills and renewed a dental plan which was on a credit card account that I have since closed, which was a good thing, of course. I am meeting the BF for lunch - lots to talk about with her picking up her Casita travel trailer the first of June - and for dinner DH and I are going to enjoy our firepit and roasted Nathan's hotdogs, I am thinking. It will feel like SPRING to me.

PJ, wow! Your time is really drawing to a close. You have the painting to do, you have a baptism to attend, you have weddings, etc before you go back to TX next winter. Lots to look forward to!

I made some time to sew yesterday for a bit and perhaps there will be some more time today - there should definitely be some tomorrow.

Have a very good day, friends!

Weezer spring break official ends tomorrow night. It's back to work on Monday. I need another week to get things done I had planned. For some reason been doing everything but what's on My list, some one else's list seems to be getting done tho. emoticon

PJ you will be home soon. I know you will have lots to do. I always have plenty when we are just gone a couple days, I can only imagine several months.

We are off to Joplin here in a few. We need a knew router for the internet. The one we have is not big or fast enough. I did not know a router came in so many different sizes. I've always just went to Walmart and bought whatever they had. Since we have so many things that use it we need a different one. I found this out because things (phones, computers) kicked dropped off, like when your phone gets out of range and a call is dropped. This is really fun when Joshua is in the middle of a school lesson. Anyway since we need a bigger one, they are pricey, Matthew said he would buy this one. You know what? I'm letting him. Joplin has a Best Buy so that's where we are headed. Nothing like a long explanation as to why we are going to Joplin. emoticon

Y'all take care and I'll be back when I can.

Good evening. Home for the weekend. Should have had a grand but stayed late at work and had to finish a few things. There were some last minute problems I found and the next shift had a new admission, so I took care of some of the problems then passed them on to the next nurse.

Wanted to stop at a sandwich place on the way home but was good and came home to my veggies and chicken. Then some banana bread. It was fun.

Tammy, perhaps I came on too strong. You have a big heart and want to help others. It isn't a bad thing. It is a good thing and if you want to help Baby Jane's family, you should as often as you want.

SS, glad you had fun on your day out. Sorry the computer is not working as it should. I'm glad you have a local computer expert to help you.

Sorry about the Fitbit issues. The internal batteries sometimes do that. It is part of why I'm still an Omron person. I had good success with customer service. If you have a credit card receipt you might be able to use that instead of a store one. Contact them online and see what they can do for you.

LG, I'm impressed with the time you volunteer. It is wonderful that you also donate your ingredients and energy both physical and facility to the cause. You are one special volunteer.

Weezie2, I love that your children live close to you. It make it so nice to get to spend time with them and their children. It will be so fun as the girls grow up. How is your mom doing?

Weezie, hope the count is done and you are off on a new adventure. It is so hard to get it all done.

Talked way too much. Off to bed soon. Not sure what is going on tomorrow but do have some planning to do as I'm attending a welcome home for some friends who lived in Ottawa for a couple of years.

Tammy - We stay at the Shipshewana South Campground. They also have a North Campground so when you google make sure you look at the South Campground. I have June 29, 30 and July 1st marked off for the gathering. If I'm wrong, Weezie or LG will be quick to let us know. I'm excited as it will be nice to spend the time with you and Joe again. Norm is also happy to spend some quality time with Joe.

LG - my new lap top is a Toshiba which I choose because Norm loves his. I ended up taking it back to the Easy Tech Dept at Staples which is where I purchased it. The guy (kid) was really good with me. One of the error Microsoft is aware of and had a patch to fix it. The other two error messages are not so easy. He did a few things and "hopes" it is fixed. He said take it home and if it happens again bring it back and they'll contact Toshiba for warranty work.

As for the Fit Bit, I don't have the box anymore but I do have a receipt from BB&B. I wonder if they would exchange it. I see from the FitBit Forum that this seems to be an ongoing problem. I wish I knew that before I got one!

With all my frustrations today, I'm not hungry for dinner but I think I'll just eat some Chia Seed Pudding and call it a day.

Thanks for listening to my rants!

Oh, Sharo, don't tell me that!!!! What kind do you have? I'm planning to get my new one asap. I've just not had time to go and Rachel said that she'd help me decide on which one I need. I will tell you that Rachel had the same problem with her FitBit but Best Buy replaced it with a new one. On the baking for the church, yes they provide all the ingredients. For the museum, I can either donate it all or ask for reimbursement. I usually donate it.

Weezie, glad that you are getting the scarf done. I need to get back to my sewing room too. But been a slug lately!! I need to just hand sew the binding down on the Christmas throw. Then I plan to work on my umbrella squares. Hope to get my program so that I can embroider blocks for my baby quilt. I have decided that for the one baby I'll just buy something but the other I'll make a quilt.

PJ, I can understand your homesickness. I would miss my kids and grandkids so much. I guess that is part of the reason that we don't go away for the whole winter. But a couple of weeks would be nice!!

Not so good of a morning for me!

My brand new computer is crashing and I'm having problems with it. So our computer guy in the resort is going to come and see if he can figure it out.

Then I went to charge my FitBit and it won't charge. I cleaned it and did everything and it won't charge. Now the lights won't light any more. It's probably dead! I have a message in to Customer Service to see but likely I will be without it for a few days! emoticon

More rain on the way but did get my walk in this morning. Tomorrow will be errand day and eating out (since it is to rain all day) was going to go to a festival but Iím sure it will be rained out.

Sharon you have the dust we have the sand that seems to track in daily. We will leave the day Easter and arrive home on Tuesday.

I am really homesick this year due to the weather and DS fiancť and family. I am really really anxious to see them and the work they have done on the house. They have a new kitchen stove. DS is refinishing a thrift store wooden folding table for the kitchen and the boys room is now sheetrocked and should be ready for me to paint when we get back. They want to move in when school is out. At least they have a goal to keep them motivated. And the boys are really anxious to move to DS house and town they have already made neighbor friends.

I have to exercise first thing in the morning or it doesnít get done (when we are in Texas) at home I will go to classes that are scheduled but want to start using the machines again also on my time.

Enjoy your day

My son is the older of my kids. He's Kami's dad. They live in the same city that I do about a 10 minute drive. My daughter is 2.5 years younger and Claire's mom. They live in the next city north of me about a 20 minute drive. Hope that clears things up a little for you emoticon

Good Evening!

Been off gallivanting around most of the day, visiting with friends. I did clean the MH this morning as the AZ dust is terrible and you need to keep up with it. Tomorrow I will be doing laundry again!

Thanks for the comments on my hair - I like it this cut.

WG - so strange of your DB. I hope he isn't trying to keep his treatments and stuff quiet as it sounds like you already know. This is when most people turn to their families for support. I'm glad you had a good day at work., It helps make up for all the bad ones.

Weezie2 - you need to straighten me out because I thought Kami & Claire had the same mother thus were sisters. Can't be if Kami has only see Claire twice!

Weezie - we are paid until the end of April but Norm wants to head out if we start getting triple digit temps. It's been about average this season and yesterday it got to 94. We're both anxious to get back home this year so we are hoping MI gets warmer soon as well. I am hoping to come to Shipshe this year. Is anyone else coming that might camp. It was so nice when we were at the campground and had the potluck. If not, Norm will stay home and I'll have to spend the night at the hotel with you ladies, if there is room!

PJ - when do you and Frank head back home. If I remember it's before us.

LG - I just can't crawl out of bed and exercise. But I do have to do it before it gets too warm here so it seems to get earlier and earlier. Wow, you sure are doing a lot of baking. I would assume St Paul provides the ingredients and you bake on a volunteer basis. At least I hope that's the case. It still takes a lot of your time so I'm sure they are grateful.

Tammy - I know you feel like you need to help Baby Jane's family but I have to agree with the others. My sister's daughter has lost their home twice do to finances. Last Nov they moved in with my sister until they can afford another place. Her, her hubby, four kids and two dogs! Better my sister than me. But my sister is handling it as she also wants to help. Perhaps they need to move in with the parents until they get on their feet as well.

Good evening Seesters. A busy day for me but not so much for anyone else. I had 9 patients once the day was done but never more than 6 which was for a minute. Just one of those lucky days.

Tammy, Love that you got the work done before coming online. It works well. One year LG and TB had a contest to see if they could do it every day. They came very close.

I'm in agreement that you don't need to feel guilty. Sometimes we are codependent and enable those around us. I understand that the father has been "looking" for work but you gave him good leads as have others. They can work this out. If they need to "move home" for a bit, it isn't the end of the world. One wonders what they would have done a century ago?

SS, love your hair. It is so fun to walk places isn't it? It's always time to have fun and you do no matter where you live.

PJ, Love your pictures of the campground. I didn't realize you had so much water there. I'd love some. It will be water rationing again this year. It sounds like the first few weeks home will be busy. I'm glad you have the plans in place. The magic of technology.

Weezie2, so glad you can get out and walk. Seems like last week you were almost snow bound. I love that you make the pillowcases for the girls. I agree that other treats are as fun or more so than candy. I've given up filling eggs for the hunt. My kids fill the eggs for their own kids. They can figure it all out and deal with it. I still have a BUNCH of plastic eggs so it is easy for them. The eggs will be coming out this weekend and come back in a couple of weeks with the kids.

Weezie, I like the creativity and adding on both ends. I understand missing the machine, but it is also fun to do several different things. Knitting travels better than sewing.

Off to bed. See you in the morning.

I got a nice 2 mile walk in this morning. Temps were a little on the chilly side but it felt good to be outside. My knee is hurting some tonight. Not sure if it's because of the concrete or because my steps are up an extra 3000 from yesterday.

Kami has only seen Claire twice since she was born. Pre K is wrecking havoc on her little system. She was sent home from school yesterday with an earache. She's on another round of meds on top of her inhailer. In the meantime this G'ma is enjoying her time with the baby. I just finished the girls St Patrick day pillowcases and cut out bunnies to make some for Easter. Kami loves her Paw Patrol so I'll be making her those too. I'd rather do that than candy any day. I'll get Kami her goldfish crackers and some cuties and she'll be happy.

Have a Great Thursday!

Evening all,

Well I had to come to the computer to go look at how to finish this knitting project. Just a scarf but I've only made one and I don't remember how to bind off. Will be nice to have this one done and I have one that I ran out of yarn on so I'm adding a different color on both ends to finish it up. We're making to donate so it is just a way for me to keep trying and get my hands to work a different way. I am really missing my sewing though.

Been a quiet week for us. No Ava till tomorrow and all night and all day Saturday but it will be good. I'm going to attend an essential oil party on Saturday. I have talked to many who have had good results for a variety of things so what the heck. I'd like to find something that might help me sleep a better. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with these things?

Another chilly day here. We still have some snow on the ground. Ugh. But did come home to a nice surprise. We had a tree in our front yard that had broken in half but we never got rid of the half that was still standing. The neighbors took the piece that fell off a couple of years ago and kept indicating they'd be happy to cut down the rest if we'd let them have the wood. Well, we were in no big yank and yesterday we came home to see they'd finally come and cut the rest down. They left a pile of brush for us to drag out back but the rest is all gone and cleaned up. We were pretty tickled. Less leaves in the fall but less shade too. Oh well, maybe one day we'll plant another.

Tammy congrats on getting your steps and work related stuff done today. Always feels good.

PJ, glad you're getting so much exercise in and hope you bring good weather home with you.

LG, hope your baking is about done and you can relax. You are one busy woman.

Jo, hope things are going better for you in FL.

SS, how soon before you head back to Michigan? I'm getting excited about Shipsee. Hope you'll be joining us this year.

Weezie, what are you up to and how is Claire doing? Kelly back to work yet? I'm sure Kami is loving having a baby cousin to help G'ma with.

Judy, you had spring break yet? We got a couple of weeks yet before it hits here. I'm working all but one day but looking forward to the end of June and first week of July as I'm gonna get two full weeks off. I can hardly wait!

RCIA is winding down and busy, busy, busy. It has been a great journey and one that will continue I'm sure. So much to learn and have been many great people along the way.

Now I need to get this knitting done. Hope you all had a great day and hope you all have a great Friday!!

Tammy I agree with LG donít feel badly abut the electric bill. You have given them lots of help and there are places that can help. Under the circumstances Iím surprised they can even shut off the electrity any way.

WG sounds like your brothers health issues have gotten worse and he is trying to cope with it himself without troubling any one else. Iím glad you have those grands to bring joy into your life. You need that uplift within reason because you also need time for yourself.

Sharon love the haircut. I canít wait to get home for my regular hairdresser. My appointment is already made for the day after we get home.

Weez what was the knitting project? I have been once in a while knitting on a sweater and of course socks but the next 2 weeks if the weather is nice I will be concentrating on walking and fishing before heading north for home. I remember those busy sports schedules when my boys were small. Busy times but oh so enjoyable.

Tammy your ready for gardening. Sounds like you are getting your stock ready to be planted.

LG we have to go to the dreaded Walmart about once every 7-10 days. I will be glad to get home to my good grocery stores. We have a new Sprouts Market that went in. Has anyone heard of them or been to one.

The flooded campsite that were occupied got moved to new sites today and they pulled the fishing dock up so the walkway was out of the water again. The weather is beautiful and I even went for a bike ride today.

Did a load of laundry too. So it has been a busy enjoyable day.

Have a nice evening.

Afternoon,

Been a busy morning....got my exercise in then home and breakfast. Headed to the grocery store and WalMart (really hate that place!) Then got 11 loaves of bread baked for the museum and all the church ironing done. emoticon

Tammy, don't feel bad about not jumping in to pay for the electric bill. There are places out there that will pay that for him if he will just ask. St. Vincent de Paul is one of them. We do it all the time. Now people must "apply" and prove that they need it and can't afford to pay but the process is fairly simple.

WG, for you and your sister's sake I hope that your brother is taking care of himself. I wonder why he is so secretive with you all about it.

SS, love the hair cut!! And you are looking so good!! Keep up the good work.

Weezie, I know....you can't stand me!! emoticon emoticon But I enjoyed our talk too!!

Now I'm going to go relax and read on my book!!

Hi, Seesters!

I chose to get a lot done on job-related things today before coming to Sparkpeople, and I probably got more done than if I had come here first. LOL! I also have most of my step goal for the day and my food tracked, so it isn't as if I was not Sparking at all!

JO, I was reading an article in the most recent AARP bulletin and they mentioned "senior consultants" that might manage what you have described in the past. If you get the AARP bulletin, you might check that.

SS, I do like you hair cut! I don't care it is sideways, either. I got a neck stretch in...LOL!

WG - or anyone else - do you know any good sources for doll clothing patterns? I am thinking that would make a nice gift for Baby Jane, who is actually Toddler Jane, who turns 3 in June and also one of the step-GGDs, who turns 3 in July. It might use up some fabric stash....Just a thought....

I bought Vidalia onion plants yesterday - yay! I waited too long last year and the Vidalias were gone. I also bought some Peaches and Cream corn seeds in bulk - not a bunch, but I look forward to trying to better my novice gardening skills with them. I know it is a bit early, but I got them while they were at the hardware store that I was at.

I shall go for now - I need to discover when I need to plant said plants/seeds.

My name is Tammy and I live in SW Missouri.

Well SS I like the new haircut and we don't care the photo is sideways. I gotta share my long hair. You guys won't recognize me! LOL

Been a busy week of course and winding down this count period which has been interesting. I will survive as always and am focused on time off in the months ahead so it keeps me going.

Heard my oldest grandson will start soccer in April. Likely will hear that Ava will finish her season so that is gonna be interesting trying to cover both especially since we're responsible for getting Ava to her games since mama works Saturday. We'll manage but will make every effort to get to his games too or at least split them. Oh it is gonna be interesting.

I'm finishing up a knitting project and then I need to get back to my sewing room. So many projects, so little time. LOL

Judy, sounds like you're busy too, as per usual.

WG, always enjoy hearing about all that is going on in your world. Busy busy busy.

Tammy, do look forward to hearing more about your evaluation of sorts.

LG, enjoyed or visit tonight. You always amaze me.

PJ, hard to believe your season is winding down and you'll be heading home soon.

Now I need to get ready for bed and think about tomorrow. Week is flyin by. Yippee!!

Enjoy!

Good Evening!

Another busy day! I walked over to get my hair cut this morning. I needed the cut and I got over 5,000 steps in by walking. Here is a picture of my new hair do. Pardon my red face as I worked up quite a sweat walking home and didn't realize how red I was.

This afternoon we went for our weekly WalMart run. We stopped at an Italian Restaurant for lunch. I ignored the pizza, spaghetti, lasagna (which I really wanted) and order a grilled chicken salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Norm asked how it was as he was eating lasagna and garlic bread. I just smiled and said, "tastes like all the salads I always order" BUT, I will appreciate it at my WI in Saturday!

Edited: Sorry about the sideways picture - not sure why or how to correct it.

Good afternoon. Had the grands today and Enterprise was a little needy and the Gunslinger was cute. Then DS came to pick them up. Swimming day. We talked about my brother who has been secretive about his health. He visited this past weekend at his house in the area and didn't call or visit with anyone. It is out of character for him to do this. I expect he isn't well as he is still receiving cancer treatment (known by his phone tracker) and isn't talking to any of us right now.

My DS said she hopes he cares for the estate before he passes but she is that way. I'm hoping he finds a way to beat this but am not terribly hopeful.

LG, sounds like a fun day when you can sort and not have a lot of "voting" on things. It organizes better.

PJ, sorry you got rained on. You are coming back soon. It is amazing how quickly time passes.

SS, hope your walk today was a good one.

Judy, I understand when you are busy.

Have fun. I got back from grocery shopping and have to get laundry. I had a doctor's appointment but it was cancelled when I got there due to an emergency. I'll go in a couple of weeks. No big deal. The staff was so surprised that I didn't make a fuss. Sometimes things happen.

Have a great day.

Hello, Seesters!

We are back to drizzle here, but at least it isn't freezing drizzle. It is a bit chilly, but we have the fireplace going and it is nice in the family room.

I had the informal evaluation by my dean today. It shall be interesting what she says, if anything. I have used a Powerpoint presentation with supplementation on the whiteboard all semester, and it helps me be more organized and I can also watch students for indications of when I need to explain something more/in a different way/etc. Well, this morning, the computer and the projector system were not "talking" well, the Information Technology person was nowhere to be found, and the library only had one person at the time I was looking and she had three students in a line waiting, so I had to "wing it" off the top of my head. It was not my usual fairly organized presentation. The dean didn't even stay the entire time - but she warned me she wasn't feeling well and not to be surprised if she didn't stay the entire time. I shared with her what I had already been through, and said she was welcome to stay, because she would truly see me as it is...except for a good Powerpoint, of course. LOL! I already have three classes assigned to me on the fall schedule - I don't get really anxious about it these days. I would like to be know my colleagues thought well of me, but I guess it really wouldn't be the end of the world if they did not.

Baby Jane's dad approached privately via FB with a message stating they might need to move as their power was about to be turned off. Indeed, it was turned off yesterday, but another cousin called the power company and the power was back on by midafternoon. Baby Jane's dad indicated they might move back to their hometown to live with her parents or grandparents, but I guess perhaps that won't happen in the immediate future. I am not entirely sure what to think/do. Even though he had unemployment that had finally straightened out, we gave him info about jobs in the area that were hiring. I feel kind of guilty for not answering his email yet and also not jumping in and paying the power bill. I don't know if I am explaining well, but I do feel kind of bad about not jumping right in. Anyway, in the short term, they have power.

I hope to sew over the next few days.

Got a walk in this morning but didnít make it back without getting rained on. Now the sun is finally out again. Our little corner of the campground is empty not sure what will happen some of the telephone type poles that hold the electrical campsite boxes are now in the water but we are high and dry as we are on the top side of a slope.

SEK we will be home the 8 of April. But it takes me a couple of weeks at least to catch up on dads and our doctor appointments and if dad wants to go to Iowa we will do that too.

Went to St. Vincent de Paul this morning and worked in the warehouse. It was nice because it was just myself and 2 other ladies and we got thru a ton of stuff. So many times when I am assigned to the warehouse there are a lot of people and we are tripping over each other. So it was a productive day!

WG, glad that you got to visit with your kids. I must say that ours don't just "drop" in to see us. I wish they did!! I probably won't be wearing my dress this year as we will be so busy in the kitchens. But maybe.....

Sharon, so happy that you can get rid of your big clothes. That is so nice. When I want a snack, I some times will have one of those chocolate puddings (60 cal) with a 1/4 cup of fresh raspberries. Very good!!

Judy, so glad to see you!!

Good afternoon Seesters. It has been an interesting day. The "pecking order" has been coming down among the boys. It is interesting to see them interact. Lovely day, though, and the kids went outside for a while. It was good for them and for me. I got the temporary fence fixed again. It's a temporary one, so hopefully it will be down soon so I can finish doing the yard.

SS, love the pictures and love that you have dropped so many sizes. You are looking good. I'm glad you are "cycling down" the clothes. Then it will be time to send more down.

LG, the historical reenactment sounds fun. And you get to wear your dress again. Always wanted a dress with a hooped skirt. Scarlett looked so good in hers.

It's hours later. The kids have left. Saw DS#3, DS#4 and children stopped by and DD#2. The younger 2 visited for a while. It was a fun visit.

Gotta go and do SOMETHING with my day. Spent a lot of time reading stories and playing games today. No regrets, but need to do some things.

SS you are doing great!

Weez yes time for a new picture.

PJ when will you be back in the area? It's about time for us to get together again.

I've been busy since spring break started, trying to get ahead with school and working around the house. The day is done before I'm finished.

Take care all, I've been keeping track of y'all, just not talking about it.

Popping in with a quick hello.

I emptied all the clothes out of the MH that are too big. I started wearing 20W & 2X tops. Now I'm in a large top and size 16 pants. Between what I got from Ruthann and my hand offs, I had three big boxes. I took a few tops to my friend down the street and she was so pleased with them. Now she wants everything to go through. If she can't wear it, she'll pass it on to the local thrift shop. She said, "Are you sure you want to pass such good clothes on because you may gain weight back". I am getting rid of them for that very reason!! If I don't have any bigger clothes, I'll have to nip any weight gain in the bud. Plus, I need to keep the weight off.

Did I tell you about my new found obsession with Chia Seed Pudding? I am in love with it!
Last night I mixed 1 tbsp, chia seeds, 1 tbsp PB2, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 pkt stevia and three tbsp unsweetened almond milk. I was craving chocolate so I added 1/3 of an envelope of Swiss Miss Diet Cocoa. I mixed it all and let it set overnight. It was like a chocolate tapioca pudding - yummy and very filling for only 106 calories! I ate a couple of fresh strawberries with it and it didn't feel like diet food!

I bought a Veghetti to make Zucchini noodles but I haven't tried it yet. When it cools down later today, I am going to walk over to the fresh market and buy some Zucchini. I'll let you know what I think or if you use one, maybe you can share your thoughts and advice.

Afternoon,

Colder today as yesterday was 75! It's about 45 now. I am cold!! Got 10 more loaves of bread baked and now heading to my sewing room to finish the binding for the Christmas throw. I've never gotten it done. I'm bad!

PJ, this is our annual Sassafras Days and Civil War Re-enactment at the end of April. We will be re-enacting Lincoln's assignation. We have a guy here who has "written a script" and we will be following it. We have a man who really looks like Abe but a bit heavier. Very tall and same beard!

Weezie, so happy that you have found your way back. And that St. Tom's was there for you.

I need to get moving and get that binding done. So I'll be back later.

Evening all!

I'm trying to do some catch up after a busy weekend with little ones.

SS, love the photo and you are doing great! I'm so tickled for you.

WG, glad you had a happy day and nice the kids can pop in like they do. You are fortunate.

Tammy, sorry about the delay in exams but at least they didn't make you drive in bad weather. We saw 70 today but back to the 40's tomorrow. Oh well, it is better than zero so I'll take it. I am enjoying seeing the snow dissipate as well.

LG, I know you are busy and look forward to seeing your fairy garden. I MUST get what I have in place this season as Ava is so very excited. She loves to play with the little things I've collected thus far.

Tonight we noticed 4 good size deer grazing in our back yard. They could see the lights so they were watching us as we were watching them. They know we're no threat. I do enjoy watching them especially when they get startled and dart out into the pasture.

Well another count period is winding down this week. It has been yet another challenge but will get er done. I will start compiling the things I have to scan tomorrow but still am waiting on one of the buildings who have yet to turn anything in. Systems aren't talking so we are battling with the programmers so we'll see what tomorrow's upload shows us. I learn more each and every round.

Last week 3 of us attended a conference at the college campus since the students were on spring break. They had about 265 of us from around the state attend and the speaker was very good. One of his messages was 'be good to your employees'. Funny as at the end we had to turn in our surveys and my boss was collecting them. She looked at me and said, "I guess this means I need to be nice to you" and I commented, yes, you need to work on it. Straight faced and all. Of course my co-worker loved it as we both had the same thought. I'm ready for her to move on and see what life is like without her. Just a few more months. I can do it!!

RCIA is winding down and busy is an understatement but have really enjoyed the process. Right now we're doing scrutinies. It is a 3-week process and we finished week 2 last night. We had to go to Mass at 7:00 p.m. which was hard as it was after 9 before I got home but that one is done. This week, the final scrutiny, is at 11:30 a.m. Much better. Then we're fast and furious as we get to Easter vigil. It will be interesting to see how things are after we are all done. I've spent nearly an entire year, once a week at least, with 50 people. Half of them sponsors. They really have done a good job in getting those of us who want to join, or return, to the Catholic church to prepare us. Definitely unique from what I understand compared to many other churches. I am thankful I found St. Thomas More or may not be on this journey today.

I do hope you all are doing well and do have a great St. Patty's day. I'll try to check back tomorrow but I do have RCIA tomorrow evening.

I will be thinking of you all!

And, I think it is time for an updated photo. My hair is long. Can you even imagine? Well, long for me. LOL

Good evening,

Home from the show and it was interesting. Got some things for my fairy garden which will be planted around an old tree stump and the roots. I'm excited to see Spring! Today was a beautiful day....73 degrees.

SS, you are looking good!! emoticon I know that it is very hard and that you miss Bailey. At the show today there was a group of people who rescue Greyhounds. They had 4-5 of them there. They need a place to run but I sure would love to have one of them.

Tammy, it is good to get back into our routine.

WG, I'm glad that you are enjoying your day. It is always a good day when you can smile!

Got to run.
