I also try to count calories and journal my food. I also try to make healthy substitutions and plan menus in advance.

I follow the Spark diet, I never use to eat veggies and fruits or drink water, until I started here, they have so much to offer..

I basically follow their plan, and so far, things have been good.. The one thing they teach us, is to eat in moderation, so a person doesn't have to exclude anything, we can eat it all, as long as we don't go over board..

I, too, am a lifetime WW member. And that's what I do; but not online. I personally feel that the meetings are a real key to WW -- I am a former leader, btw, but many years ago.

I have tried unsuccessfully with WW over the last 10 years or so, on and off, but somehow this year something just clicked. Sometimes you really just have to be in the right place & time.

Running the US one state & HM at a time & hoping to raise money for good causes at the same time

Whole grain bread
KINGLOSER

See notes at the end

Ingredients

7 cups whole grain flour
2 1/2 c. nonfat milk
1 Tbsp yeast
1/4 c olive oil
1/4 c honey
2 tbsp flax seed, ground
1 tbsp salt

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a mixer and mix for at least 10 mins. cover and let raise out of mixer. Mix again and divide into rolls or loaves. let rise until doubled in size. Bake at 350* for 30 to 40 mins. The prep time reflects the time you actually spend on it not the rising time. Makes 3 loaves or about 36 rolls.

Number of Servings: 36

Nutritional Info
Servings Per Recipe: 36
Amount Per Serving
Calories: 106.6
Total Fat: 2.1 g
Cholesterol: 0.3 mg
Sodium: 204.6 mg
Total Carbs: 19.5 g
Dietary Fiber: 3.0 g
Protein: 3.9 g

Notes: I took my grandmothers Whole wheat recipe and changed it a little to make it healthier. She used butter and brown sugar in hers. I changed that and added grounded flax seed to it to make it healthier. If you don't have flax seed you can go with out. I have added many other things to my bread depending on my moods. I love it with chopped fresh rosemary or garlic or both baked right in. I will also brust the top of rolls whith honey butter as they come out of the oven for special occasions. I've cut back on butter and only eat it on special occasions but it does make the bread good. My grandma also did 3 cups whole wheat flour and 4 cups white flour. I actually grind my own wheat just before making the bread to get more nutrients into it. Wheat doesn't lose any of its nutritional value until you grind it. It always is a high source of fiber though so whether you grind it yourself or just buy w w flour be aware that it will clean you out especially if you go 100% whole wheat.

Also I have posted this before on the recipe forum. It is also in my recipe box and you are welcome to go through that to find it again if you need to.

I don't have a specific diet but I was doing the spark diet for quite a while. I would just type in anything I ate and made sure I stayed with in my food group and calorie ranges. I also did change what I ate before to healthier foods. I eat more fruits and veggies, only whole grains, I stear clear of white carbs such as flour, sugar, potatoes white bread, I also stear clear of HFCS and sodium glutamate. I'm actually making my own whole wheat bread now all of the time because store bought breads all seem to have hfcs in them. I use honey, apple sauce, agave nector or maybe even maple syrup for my sweetner if I need one. I have had people make comments when I refuse a food because it has an ingredient I am avoiding that my food must taste awful but I have found ways to make substitutions in my same old recipes and the food comes out wonderful. I took whole wheat rolls to a pot luck and one little girl who couldn't get enough of them told my daughter they were the best brown rolls she had ever had.

I looked to see if you are logging in your food each day, as well as exercize or written any blogs and didn't see anything. Please take advantage of all the free stuff Spark offers. Sometimes we just need to really focus on what we want and focusing on your goals. Nothing comes easy in life. We must set a goal and go for it. You can do it. Set your mind to it. Have a great Christmas and start fresh logging in, drinking water, exercise etc. There are so many wonderful people here that would love to help. hugs, Wanda

I'm on the Spark diet. I keep track of my calories, fats, etc. Basically, I eat everything I did before, just not as much. Joining Sparks also taught me how to eat more protein fruits, and Veggies. I always thought I ate enough. Boy was I wrong. The hardest part to cut down on is fat. But I am doing pretty good with that. Finding a good group in here, really helps. Not only do the people have the same struggles as you or me, but most people have bonded so well, that we have become family. And the encouragement is unbelievable. How long have you been with Sparks? It takes time to get yourself into good eating habits. Maybe you should give it more time. Sparks is free, W.W. isn't...Just something to consider. Also the other key to lose weight is exercise. This time of year it is hard for some people, but you can always exercise indoors. Have you looked through all of Sparks information? There are so many tips, that are so useful! I have never joined W.W. Once I found Sparks, I didn't feel the need to look else where. Sparks has everything you need to know, it just takes time and patience!
You can do it!

What diet are you on? How long have you been on it? Is it working or are you considering a major change?

I used to be on Weight Watchers; actually I am a Lifetime member. Later I started Somersize- which did not work very well-, and later I tried Atkins which worked fine, but I lost interest mighty soon.
Right now I am watching my calorie intake and sometimes I am successful, others I am not. I am considering joining WW online. Does any of you have experience with the online "thing?" Please tell me everything I need to know. I do not want to join only to be disappointed.
