I agree Janet. I'm sure the crater was a good distance away. Nothing in Survivor is ever easy and they should know and expect that. I'm sure he'll look back at some point and feel a bit naive about digging at a little dip in the sand.

But one would hope we would entertain the idea that we might be looking for a "crater" instead of a little dip in the sand! LOL I'm sure it was quite a walk to the crater and if he gets back out there again the next clue will probably give him a "duh" moment!

I wonder how far away the crater was from the clue. It looked to be a decent distance. He probably didn't think to look that far away... and usually the clues are not that "easy" (once you FIND the crater, of course) - it seemed like he was looking at anything that resembled a crater.

It was way easy for us because the camera showed us the crater. We wouldn't have known it was so obvious otherwise.

We were just laughing at him! He finds some bare little dip in the earth and thinks that's a sand crater?! Come on, man! It cracks me up just thinking about it again.

Janet,
I agree. Did he even read the clue? Does he know what a crater looks like? As I've said before, not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Always fun to see the new people playing the game. I agree that the picks were just nuts. Go for what appears to be strength not because "us moms need to stick together." Oh please! Will be interesting to see how that team fares with their selections to leave the tribe. That young gal just hurt herself with her mouth there at tribal. I would have voted her off too after that!

As for the guy that went to exile I'm thinking "how dumb can this guy be? Does he not know what a crater looks like? He didn't even come close to searching enough.

I agree Tam and I was really surprised that the youger athletic looking guys were picked towards the end. I would've been picking them first because the first part is all about winning challenges.

I couldn't believe how much Crystal bragged about being an Olympian and how that will make her kick everybody's butt and she couldn't come close to winning the first challenge.

I thought the red team was very stupid in choosing their tribemates. I can't recall exactly, but Gillian chose that other older lady (Susie or something), right? And the choices right after that were dumb, too. This isn't a social club where you choose who you think you'll like the best; this is Survivor where you should choose who you think will help you be a strong tribe.

Loved the episode. My first thought was how beautiful and green the location is this time around. Remember last time they were in Africa! I remember them trying to get water out of that muddy pit.
I wasn't sad to see Michelle go. She wasn't very pleasant. I don't like Randy. He is definitely creepy. My daughter laughed because her physics teacher at school is also Bob and the survivor Bob looks like Bill Nye the science guy. Plus he's from New England!

The shoe comment was hilarious. 10 lbs shoes? A runner? Come on! I think she was just trying to cover for her inability to get up that hill, period, never mind quickly. I don't see her doing all that great in challenges. As for the uneven split of abilities that does seem to be the way the last few seasons. It's weird, since often the split is so completely random. One team of losers and the other that just happens to have it together. I always feel bad for the people who could do something good if it wasn't for the fact that they were stuck with all the losers.

Comments of the guy that went to exile (Dan, I think): intelligent? No. lazy? Yes. "I looked for 5-6 hours." Seriously? You had nothing better to do for the whole day and you only looked for 5-6 hours? And exactly why did you think that digging in the middle of a field of grass was going to be helpful? Pu-leeze! I was not impressed.

Yeah that was an odd comment...unless she's holding back on purpose for strategic reasons? It seems to go that way lately that one team is unbalanced with too many who can't or won't and the other team is seemingly strong & powerful.

i was taken back by her inability to get up the hill as well as that comment about her shoes. but even in the second part she really didn't excel.
i feel bad for the few on that team who want to play the game and are saddled with so many who do very little.

Loved the 2 hours! Allowed us to see the people more and form some opinions. Basically we got 2 episodes in one night. Wish they'd continue that in future seasons.

I agree about the comfort or clue twist. Very ingenious!

Funny - I didn't mind Gillian all that much. Sure, she was a bit of a Pollyanna, but I wouldn't consider that a reason to vote her out. And them saying that she did nothing in the challenge is just dumb - the yellow tribe had people not helping roll the ball, too. There is only so much space on that thing where touching it would be effective at all. To plain stay out of the way is sometimes as much of a help as rolling the ball would be.

2 hours was great. I loved it. Man is there some cute guys this season. Yummy!!! I hope the Fang tribe gets it together. I would hate to see one team dominate the whole season I hate that. Im glad Gillian is gone. She got on my nerves. Hope it will be a good season. I like the twist they put on the exile island: comfort or clue. I would have to agree with the guy. One night of comfort is not going to keep me here.

liked the first two hours . wish there was more balance bewteen two teams. the 3 ladies on gillians can't pull their weight.
i think it was her personality and lack of ability that got her off not age. look at the other teams 57 year old man.
unless something shakes it up we'll just watch memebers picked off one at a time.

I'm glad it was a 2-hour premiere, too. Usually it takes a while to get to know the contestants; this way, I felt like I got to know them better straight off.

I did NOT like the, "coming up later in this 2 hour premiere" teasers. For the next week, they're fine. For later in this show, they were DUMB.

I spend the "off season" looking forward to it! Two hours was great. I do think, though, that things start to heat up a few episodes in. Still...I'll never miss one! I know -- terrible to be so addicted to a TV show!?!? But I just love it!
