Feeling like a freakin' beast right now! Tuesday I had to stop in the middle of the Plyometric Cardio Unit and take a five minute break, and still had to keep stopping after that. I did it again today, and pushed through the whole thing without any extra breaks. So stoked! Really excited for rest day tomorrow, though.

Go girl! This is seriously the best workout program around. I'm used to dance and I'm more flexible and energetic with this than I was dancing 20 years ago. Keep it up!

I had to quit the rest of the week last week because I got the damn flu. But, I am pleased to say that I started again yesterday with the fit test, and I pushed through the entire workout today, even with my two year old sitting on my back as I did push ups. I feel great!

It sounds strange, but the more that you keep up with the workouts and don't skip them, the better the soreness becomes. I actually heal faster when I do the next workout. Just remember tons of water, tons of stretching and maybe even a hot bath. The first go round, I made the mistake of taking a day off for soreness. It's so much harder to go back into it even after just taking a day off- especially at first. Hang in there!

I think I'll take my boys on a walk tonight and do some yoga. Thanks again everyone for your suggestions!

If the pain is too bad, do a stretching or yoga video today or take a walk and then pick back up tomorrow. It's important to do something, though, to keep your muscles loose. I sometimes do my elliptical for 30-60 minutes when I'm feeling really sore.

Be sure to get some protein in your body after the workouts. I've never tried any recovery formulas, but I've heard they do help.

Allow yourself a day off if you need it - you don't want to cause an injury by overdoing it!

Muscle pain is good, those are muscles forming! The best way to make it stop is to stretch them. I had that problem on Sunday after taking a 2 month break from Insanity.
1) Take advil or aleve. 2) Try stretching- bend over, hang there and touch your toes. Try to do it for 30-45 seconds. If thats tolerable (which it wont be) fast fwd to the stretch or cool down in the video and try that. 3) If you can do yoga, that is ideal. I only did #1 and 2 on Sunday and by Monday I was in pain but capable of pushing through.

What do you do about muscle pain so bad that you can barely walk down the stairs? I'm worried I won't be able to do the work-out today. If that's the case, then I just won't skip Sunday.

I usually eat a protein bar or something like that first. I personally wouldn't recommend drinking a lot of water before the work out. Definitely makes me feel pukey.

Hang in there! The first week is hard!

I agree with the advice you've already heard here. Watch your eating and see what works for you before working out. All people are different.

These workouts are super hard! Just do what you can each day and it will get better! The first week I did Insanity, the muscle pain kept me awake at night. It gets better! I'm totally addicted to the workouts now and I love the feeling of accomplishment when I finish one!

Thanks for the push! I will try out your suggestions. Maybe I need more water BEFORE I work out.

Great job! Just don't give up yet. I found that I had nausea and heart burn, but just for the first week. But I soon realized it was the fact that I had eaten near my workout. It's a hard balance, eating the recommended "multiple meals" a day, but then not to close to the workout. So I usually try to separate my last from my workout by at least 3 hours or so. Also eating less oils helped me. The meal closest to my workout is usually "fresh" like a salad or simple (cold) sandwich. Don't give up, my first week or two I felt like I was going to throw up, and my head was going to explode. They were closeness/types of meals, water, and breathing. Try drinking the water in advance too. Not just during the workout. Good luck, and repost and let me know if it doesn't/does work!

Everyone has a hard time getting through these workouts. I did the workouts last year for the first time and remember not being able to walk very well the entire first week. I did what I could each day and made it my goal to work through the entire duration of the video. I took breaks when I needed but I made it through the two months and was way stronger compared to when I started. Keep doing it and results will be legit.

I started Insanity yesterday with the first fit test. I made it trough that. It was tough. I did the first workout a little bit ago, and I only made it through 22 minutes. I will admit this is probably the highest intensity workout I have ever done, by far. I get terrible heartburn yesterday and today during the workout. I'm drinking plenty of water, is there any other way to combat that? Also, will I get past having to stop if I just continue to push through at least most of the workouts every day, even if I don't finish them? Should I try another program first? Thanks.
