Thanks for the info! I'm still in the beginning stages, but it's nice to know for future reference.

Jeff Galloway is a real advocate of limiting the number of consecutive days run, especially as you get older.

From the Training Programs book
35 and under: no more than 5 days a week
35-45 no more than 4 days a week
46-59 every other day
60+ 3 days a week
70+ 2 longer run days and 1 walk day
80+ o longer run/walk, one shorter run/walk and one very easy short walk

Particularly once you are over 40 he feels adding a low mileage day will increase your risk of injury---he'd suggest increasing the mileage on the run days rather than increase the number of days you run. He even goes as far as discussing running twice a day. He really likes those recovery days.

You were smart to ask. Since you're a new runner, it's not recommended to run 3 days in a row. In your case, in my opinion, I would not do it. I would run one day, recover on the second day and run on the third day and hold off running until the next day you can run again. I've had to put my running off for a week because of things that came up but found that the time off and rest did me good. I was able to pick up my running just fine. You'll be fine.

Hm- I've been running 2-3 months. I am now up to 2.75 miles. I typically run very other day but next week's schedule looks bad except for the next 3 days. I have never run 2 days in a row because I thought it's not recommended.

How far do you plan to run each day? How long have you been running? How long do you ordinarily run when you run on non-consecutive days and how many days a week do you ordinarily run?

I've been wondering about this question myself. I can see maybe doing 3 short runs 3 days in a row.
I thought if I ran a really short run on the middle day, and a medium distance run on the 1st and 3rd days. I've never tried it but I've wondered.... Maybe if they were all run/walk interval runs and you took them slow...?

The weather and my schedule have worked out in a way where I should/could run the next 3 days. Is that absolutely ill advised?
