The Pandora internet radio service has a channel called "Hardcore Rock Strength Training Radio" that I like for lifting. I've tried different genres of music but that seems to be the only thing that really motivates me for lifting.
Michael Franti & Spearhead
Mumford & Sons
Pretty much any & all....whatever the mood....sometimes just a good NPR podcast.
Hardcore High NRG Dance Mix for me, here's a sample:
This ain't everyone's cup of tea but it gets me pumped!

Start by doing what is necessary, then do what is possible and suddenly you will be doing the impossible -- St Francis of Assisi

Ah, well, to each their own. Stones, Springsteen, maybe some classic Aerosmith mixed in for me. Shame I knew no girls back in high school who were like the one Steve Tyler sings about in "Walk This Way!"
"Some day we will look back on this, and it will all seem funny" - Bruce Springsteen (The real BOSS, as opposed to me.)
I have very ecclectic music tastes, but I have to have the hard stuff when I lift. What are your favorites? For me:
1) Down with the Sickness (Disturbed)
2) Droppin' Plates (Disturbed)
3) Perservance (Hatebreed)
4) Mosh (Eminem)
5) I F-----g Hate You (Godsmack)
