What is your favorite T.V show? Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, 90210, Drop Dead Diva, NCIS, Biggest Loser, and now Ruby. That is all that I watch on tv and new release movies that interest me. Other than that, I could care less if the tv is on or not.
What triggered you to begin your w8 loss journey? I honestly think the fact that I had to literally quit a job that I desperately loved and honestly could have gone up the chain of command if I had been able to stick with it. I literally got to the point that I couldn't walk because my ankle wasn't strong enough to carry my extra weight.

Hey Crystal,

I'm late joining the thread but don't really have any good questions anyway since I subscribed to your blog months ago and you have painted such a candid and detailed portrait of yourself in your blogs.

I just wanted to add that I appreciate the 'get back up one more time than you get knocked down' attitude that you share with everyone!

Life is a series of one person touching another, learning and sharing what we have been taught.

Thanks for your very candid and thorough response. The movie, Enough, resonated with me as well for a very similar reason. Glad to hear you have found your inner strength and ability to heal. Well done!

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Why? and What would you do there? Australia to see my best friend from high school, and honestly, I have no clue what I would do there because I don't know much about Australia. However, I'd love the chance to spend time with her and her family.

If you could be a character in a movie/book/musical, who would you want to be and why? Jennifer Lopez in "Enough." I would want to play that role because I have endured abuse as a child and I wanted to literally kill my ex-stepfather (and almost did the last night we lived with him.) However, I have since become strong enough to forgive him. She had to gain the strength to be able to fight him and trained to do it.

What characteristics inspire/motivate/encourage you most? This is one is a little easier, only because I had a division manager that gave me a living example of the type of person I strive to be. He was the type of manager who was firm, fair, and consistent with every employee ranging from the sales people all the way up to his superiors. He was always calm regardless of the circumstances. He was an extremely hard worker, and NEVER asked anyone to do something he didn't do himself. He always said what he meant. If he said it, you could bank money that it would happen. He demanded a lot of his crew, but that was because he demanded a lot of himself. As a result, I would have done anything for him out of pure respect even if that meant getting a toothbrush and scrubbing the bathrooms. (No, he didn't ask that of me, but I think that explains the extent in which his actions made me respect him.)
The reason he motivated me was because he possessed all the traits that use to live in me before I got into the rut of "I can't mode."

What are some of your favorite healthy meals? Grilled chicken salad is my favorite.
Anything quick and easy to put together--that's also healthy? Turkey chili. Under spark recipes by me. My husband also makes a sausage and rice combo, and I make pork fried rice. I believe I have all of them listed under spark recipes.
What's your typical breakfast? Cereal. I have just started eating breakfast since I changed my lifestyle.

What mental aspects do you find most challenging on your weight loss journey? The most challenging mental aspects for me is the fact that I do suffer with depression from time to time. I have to struggle to stay positive and ready to conquer whatever I'm dealt with.

What degree are you currently working towards? I am currently working towards obtaining my associates degree in accounting. I will have it late spring 2010.

What are your goals (not only weight loss) for 2010?
1.) Keep a cleaner home. (It won't be spick and span due to the boys, but it's won't be a pigs sty either.)
2.) Use Spark People daily (including nutrition tracker-stay under 1500 calories a day.)
3.) Go walking at least every other day (with/without a walking partner.)
4.) Really work on resume' and land a solid career.
5.) Graduate with solid grades.
6.) Spend more time on Jimmy's lessons
7.) Don't sweat the small stuff.
8.) Sleep less
9.) Read more
10.) Enjoy life.
What's your favorite food substitution? Well, I have to say that I love the Skinny Cow treats and have really been enjoying yogurt. I LOVE Crystal Light products.
I answered your other question in the prior post. :)

What is your meal plan and how do you incorporate your family with it? My meal plan is to stay within 1500 calories a day. I have been blessed with a loving husband that has willing given up a lot of his favorite foods for me. My six year old is still having a hard time adjusting to eating healthy, not being allowed fast food but once every two weeks now.
What is your favorite exercise? My favorite exercise is walking since that's all I can handle at this point.
What do you recommend for someone who is stuck in the winter blahs for getting adequate exercise? Since I am from Ohio, I can relate to the winter blahs, and if your able to use the EA Active game for the Wii, I highly recommend that game. Also Fit TV offers plenty of workout shows to get you moving. If you have a baby incorporate them into your workout, there are plenty of exercises that they can be used in. If you have older kids like I do, tell them to be your coach. You'd be amazed how much fun they have and you'll have doing that. Lastly, housework in/and of it's self is a workout especially if you get into the deep cleaning mode. Alright for those of you who do desk work all day long, do crunches using your chairs/desks as support and walk around if you are using a headset to talk to someone.

How did you find SparkPeople? Honestly I did a search for weight loss help/support groups.

How did you choose your SparkPeople ID?
My first initial of my first name, my last name and my birthday. Crystal Green Birthday: July 17, 1979
Are you looking forward to Christmas? Well, Christmas is behind us now. I believe I will be looking forward to 2010's Christmas if everything goes as planned for 2010.

Quick note about me: No question is to personal for me to answer. Let's have fun with this. I may be overly blunt and honest for your taste, but there's no sense in hiding anything since I signed on for support.
