hello
Well I am down 1lb this week so that's great. 10lbs to get back down to goal :) I am taking a day off from work today, just sort of a me day. Its cold and rainy here in PA and I don't plan on leaving the house :) I am sitting here with my cup of tea and a big bowl of strawberries and raspberries for breakfast. YUM, I LOVE summer fruits. Being home all day just have to be sure not to eat too much but I have lots of good options so I should be fine.

Hope you're all well!

Good day, Jessie. Better than mine (well sort of). My computer crashed this morning (thank goodness I had my old one in the guest room) and the new one is now at the Computer Hospital.

I had my appointment with my Lung Doctor and he said the results of my lung function is better than it was in December (all because of exercise). It had improved 15% which is totally awesome. He and I both were doing a happy dance in his office.

All in all, it was a very good day. Happy for you too. You have worked hard and it is paying off.

Hugs, Sunny

Hi ladies! I've had a great morning so far...named "Done girl of the day" on the Done Being the Fat Girl team, woot woot!, hygienist at the dentist said I looked "trim" and a half day at work! Nice!

I'm looking forward to this weekend as it's supposed to be a 3 day weekend.

Hi ladies
Well my weekend wasn't so great. Okay, so it was terrible. *Sigh* the best laid plans. Thank goodness next Saturday night I"m working at Old Navy. I've found that evenings are much more dangerous for me than they ever used to be. Think its because my bf's there so if he's eating I"m more likely to. Oh well.

I am back on track as of yesterday. I went grocery shopping yesterday so am stocked with good fruits/veg and lean proteins. I suppose each turn is a learning experience.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Morning! So I ended up passing on ST last night and instead went for a 4 mile run with my BF (see blog). My hand was hurting too much last night to even think about ST. Its feeling much better today so I will be doing ST tonight just before yoga. I will probably stink during yoga since my muscles will be tired but something is better than nothing. =)

How goes it in your worlds?!

Good morning ladies! Had a long, eventful weekend (see blog). You're JUST now hitting the 100's?! Tucson has been there since mid April...yikes! This weekend was nice though, only in the high 90's. Can't wait for the monsoons...should be hitting here soon.

Tonight I'm going to the gym for ST and cardio. My ST isn't going to be that great because I messed up my right hand somehow this weekend. I can't seem to grip anything with it...not even tissue! I'm letting it rest for a few days and hopefully it will get better.

Happy Monday all!

It's Monday and it's already hot here in East Texas. They say we are going to be above 100 this week! Too early for that.

Hope ya'll had a great weekend. Mine was just another weekend, nothing stellar to report.

Off to an ok start this week, didn't make it to the gym, because I had to re-stack hay bales that fell overnight. Not fun, and was sweated down at 4:30 am. Yuck!

Ya'll have a great day!

Hey Ladies
Thanks for all the advice. I did pick up a copy of the Clean Eating magazine and liked it. I may subscribe to it, although have been trying to cut out frivolous spending so not sure. I got my blood work results and that's all fine. I am trying a new supplement regime of Bee Pollen, CoQ10 and melatonin to help me sleep at night. I have been good yesterday and today so we'll see. Hopefully that coupled with better nutrition will help get my energy up there!

I am down another .5lbs this week, slow but about reflects my efforts lately. I have recommited and hope to have a better week this week.

Have fun this weekend. Stick to your goals!

How is everyone today? Tonight is HHC (happy hour club) for me but I'm just going for the CHEAP and healthy appitizers. I'm going to chow on some chrimp and grilled calamari served with a side of cucumber salad. It's SOOO good. Then after dinner the ladies and I are off to find me a dress for this weekend's "Welcome Home BF" party.

Oo clean eating is a great ambition for all. I picked up the magazine that Tx. was talking about once. It was a little $$ which is why I've only purchased one, but it had great articles on how to prep meals, grow your own stuff, etc.

I do hope you feel more energized soon. I'll send my "energy" thoughts your way. Hehe.

As for me, today I'm slugging a bit. Last night was yoga night and I stunk. I just couldn't hold the poses that long and by the end of class my body had kind of given up. I was bummed because I'd been looking forward to class since Saturday. Then today, about an hour ago, I got a HUGE cramp and discovered it was that TOM...DUH! No wonder I was tired yesterday! No wonder I'm tired today! So now I don't feel quite so bad. I'm trying to get a little extra iron today for some much needed energy.

Consistancy, consistancy, consistancy! That's my new motto.

Oxygen has a magazine that is titled Clean Eating . . . it's pretty good.

Plus there are some books out there by Tosco Rena, or something like that.

That would probably make us all feel alot better to eat cleaner, it's just so hard a times.

I'm at work, wishing I was at home . . . may have to cut my day short. Have tons of stuff that needs to be done at home.

Ya'll have a great day!

Happy Hump Day Ladies!
Well I got 13hours of sleep last night so I am at least caught up a little bit. I also don't have to go into work until later today so I'm enjoying a little bit of alone time at home. Going to get some laundry/cleaning done and then head out to do some errands.

i want to focus on cleaner eating so I'm going to go to the bookstore today to see what there is that I can learn about cleaner eating. I started my day with raspberries and hard boiled eggs this morning so a good start at least.

I knwo I need to get some exercise but with this energy level I just can't pull it off.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Happy Tuesday ladies! I hope everyone has had a great day so far. I've been trying to catch up with Spark friends this morning so I'm finally making the team chat rounds. Hehe. Anyhoo, yes, protein does keep you full longer and the reason is because it takes your body longer to break it down. Carbs are broken down much faster which is why they only supply you with 30 minutes to 1 hour's worth of energy. Proteins can give you energy up to 3 hours after you've eaten them. That's why I've become a protein pusher, hehe. I don't get my protein just from meats though. Cottage cheese, nuts, wheat breads/pastas, beans, eggs, yogurts, and even some veggies are good sources of protein. Of course we all still need carbs but most people eat way more carbs than they need to. Enough of that...

I'm really looking forward to yoga tonight. I've been craving yoga since Saturday but haven't really had the time to do it at home so tonight I'll be in class, making time.

Consistancy, consistancy, consistancy! That's my new motto.

Sounds like everyone is ready to focus on their goals this week. I know the trip and the wedding really messed with my whole plan last week. Today, I am staying within my calorie range so far and have worked an hour in the garden and have walked 30 minutes on the treatmill. I have also logged my minutes and food which is my goal this week - to write it all down.

Take care and do what you can do today towards meeting your goals.

Hugs, Sunny

MYDELOO - I know what ya mean about the carb thing, I think you are right. I don't like to eat a lot of carbs late in the day, I prefer them w/my breakfast most of the time, although here lately, I've just been eating whatever, that is one bad thing about hay season, you are so hot and tired at the end of the day, you don't care what you are eating!

I hope ya'll have a great day. I'd better get back to work.

Hi ladies,
I've also been a little MIA. The weekends are tough between working and this weekend we had my bf's kids there's not much time to jump online.

Last week/weekend was not good foodwise for me. I had burgers and wine and potato chips and candy and all sorts. Even last night we were drinking wine and snacking. Somehow this morning the scale was the same which I'm not sure how I pulled off but I'll take it. My official WI is tomorrow. I don't have high hopes but we'll see.

I'm doing more low carb/high protein this week. I find that protein keeps me fuller and I lose more weight. I don't think carbs are bad its just something that I've noticed that I get much hungrier when I've had more carbs.

I want to go home and take a nap. Oh well.

Do or do not, there is no try.

Wow, 3 months free?! That's awesome! Congrats!

I really want to try Zumba at my gym. They added a Wednesday night class and all the ladies that go always seem to have so much fun. Now that I'm not working M,W,F,Sat when the class is I plan on checking it out at least once.

Thank you all so much for your well wishes. It means so much to both of us!

As for tennis elbow, I don't know a whole lot about it but I think Spark has an article on it in the Health A-Z section...yup!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Zumba . . . they had it at the gym I go to for about two months and I loved it, then the instructor had to stop and they haven't found another instructor. I did find a class, I think, in the next town, I just don't know if I want to drive that far just to take the class, it was SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!! Talk about burning calories, I was very surprised.

We baled hay yesterday and it was hot and very dusty. My chest is sore today and I know it's from breathing in all that dust.

Didn't make it to the gym this am, because I didn't get any sleep last night, too much caffiene right before bed I guess. I drank a bunch of unsweet iced tea and that wasn't good. We have to bale again this afternoon, so I don't know if it will be any better tomorrow.

Anyone know anything about Tennis Elbow? I am having problems w/one of my elbows and I really don't want to go to the dr., and my dad mentioned Tennis Elbow.

Ya'll have a great day!

Sorry ladies that I have once again been MIA.

First I want to say, Jess, I am so happy for you that your BF is home safe and sound!! What a wonderful blessing for you both!! And what a sweet man to bring you breakfast in bed, and healthy too!! :)

I am going to make a huge effort to be on here every day. I have definitely been more active, now I just need to work on my eating habits. On Friday I went to a Zumba-thon, two full hours of Zumba. Was tough, but a lot of fun! Forgot how much I love Zumba. I was going on Monday nights, but now that summer is here my oldest son has baseball games and I cannot go to through the park and rec anymore. :( Anyway, at the zumba-thon I WON a free three month pass to this very fancy gym. So now I really need to figure out all the details!! All the cardio equipment has personal flat screen TV's on them! Unbelievable. Anyway, I also want to set up a personal trainer session so that I can start weight lifting. I think if I show my DH that I am going to be consistent about going to a gym I will be able to get a regular membership at my YMCA.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and I am going to be on here every day this week!!

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. JAMES 4:8

Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands for us. PSALM 90:17

Happy Sunday! Yes I went to HHC and had a wonderful ceviche dish (gogo half off appetizers!) but no drinks. Then my friend talked me into going out that night to the club with the girls. I had a good time and only had two drinks the whole night and danced, danced, danced. I'm sure I burned off all of my drinks just dancing. Hehe.

Saturday I spent all morning and afternoon cleaning and rearranging the apartment for the big homecoming. He landed and we hugged forever. Then he picked a place for dinner since both of us were starving (I hardly ate all morning because I was too nervous and I was busy cleaning). We ended up at this chinese restaurant and we split a salad and a main dish. I ended up under my max calories for the day, yeay!

This morning he made me pancakes in bed fortified with protein powder. He's wonderful. =)

Yay for boyfriends coming home safe and sound. I'm so excited for you! Did you end up going to HH?

Patricia-good luck with Baling this weekend, think of all those calories burned. Just be sure to get plenty of water.

Its been an up and down week for me. Yesterday was a better day although I was exhausted. My calories came in low mostly because I slept for four hours then went to work, so only had breakfast and dinner last night. We have my boyfriend's kids this weekend which is always a challenge and then I have a birthday party tomorrow night at an italian restaurant so also probably not good.

I need to start working out/weight lifting but right now its taking all the energy I have just to get both jobs done.

Do or do not, there is no try.

I bet you couldn't be happier about your BF coming back!!! I think you are right by skipping out, and being ready for him.

I need to get into an iron pumping routine, yet trying to fit it in between two jobs and 7 horses is hard. I may change up my hours a bit at work two days a week and just stay longer at the gym two mornings. Don't know, yet I need to figure something out.

Morning ladies! Oye, today I could NOT get up to go pump iron at the gym. Yesterday I did 90 minutes total of cardio. 30 minutes bike riding and then 60 mintues of yoga in the evening...which kicked my bum! I was exhausted when I got home...it was wonderful. I couldn't fall asleep though until 11:30pm which was bad. That left me with 6 1/2 hours of sleep. I need at least 8 to be happy and energized so I set my alarm to wake me up later and I figured I'd make up the weight lifting tomorrow morning. However, now that I think about that...that won't work because Sunday I weight lift which means I'd have two back to back sessions which isn't good for your muscles...damn.

Tonight after work I'm supposed to meet the girls for HHC (Happy Hour Club). I'm getting cevhice as my main course because it's SO yummy and cheap at this restaurant. After that we're all supposed to go out to celebrate my friends "last weekend of freedom." She was accepted into grad school...which doesn't start until August...so how this is her last weekend I don't understand. I really don't feel like going out tonight especially since tomorrow my bf comes home from Iraq after a 13month tour! I want to be fresh and energized for him! I think I'll skip out and go to the gym and pump iron tonight.

Wow, that was a ramble of a chat post!

Hey ladies
Sorry couldn't jump on yesterday. My boss was in town so I couldn't really be on the computer all day. I had a bad night last night, see blog (not quite posted yet, be posted soon). However, I'm not letting it derail me and I am moving on. I'm just so darn tired. Ugh. My housekeeper at work is off today otherwise I'd be taking the day off but no such luck. So I'm going in.. hoping to get a couple of hours break inbetween going to the other job tonight. I'll see if I can post more later.

I hate to just sit also, here lately though that hasn't been a problem.

Sounds like you had a very productive day!

Not much planned today for me, just a typica friday. Not looking forward to tomorrow, we are baling hay and that means walking in the hot dusty hay field for about two to three hours!!! Good exercise, but dang, it's hot!

Ya'll have a great weekend!

Good afternoon ladies! So today I decided to take the day off of work. Lack of work was driving me crazy. I know some people love getting paid to sit at a desk but I'm just not one of those people. I can't stand doing nothing.

So, I've been very productive today. Cleaned the apartment, went on a nice bike ride, laid out at the pool (sunblock spf 50) and tonight I'm going to yoga! Woot woot!

How are all of your days going?

Congrats MYDELOO on that scale moving down, I can't tell ya'll the last time I stepped on it. I can tell that I haven't gained any more because of the way my clothes are fitting, yet they aren't getting much looser so I haven't lost much.

I didn't make it to the gym this morning, urgh! I didn't go to bed until 10pm, last night and getting up at 4am to make it, just wasn't going to happen. I will be there tomorrow morning.

I'm so glad that each of ya'll joined the group, and that we can all do this together!!!

Hahaha...what are skinny jeans?! Haha. I can't wait to have to BUY a pair of skinny jeans! I put on my regular work pants today which I've been belting for the past few weeks and I'm on the last hole in my belt...and it's still big. I can't believe I've lost 4 1/2" in my waist alone since January. I want to buy new work pants but I'm going to wait another 10 pounds.

Anyhoo, work is boring today - I really, really don't want to be here. I'd rather be home or at the pool swimming. It's such a perfect day to be outside! It's driving me crazy!!!

Hey ladies
Well as you saw I'm down another .5 this week for a total of 9lbs down, just about the half way point. I remember when I started this thinking that 20lbs wasn't a big deal. I can't believe I let myself gain 20lbs! yikes! now I'm at 155 and I think that's great. Back in the day 155 would have been high for me. Oh well. At least I caught it at 20lbs and not 30,40 or 50lbs! I have my wardrobe very tightly controlled to a certain weight so when I gain weight I have nothing to wear and I refuse to buy larger clothes. I can't wait to get back into my skinny jeans.

Do or do not, there is no try.

You are right, I should not use the word "diet". I do want to have more of a lifestyle change. :) I just need to wrap my thick skull around that term! I went over on my calories yet again today, but the way I am looking at it is this way. At least I am keeping track of what I am eating, that is an improvement. I am not reaching for as many junk foods like cookies and candy bars. Now I just need to start working healthier snacks in, instead of graham crackers and the kids scooby snacks. Baby steps. . . That is the key to have a lifestyle change stick. Just need to keep reminding myself of that like every minute of every day or I will get discouraged. So glad I found this site! You are all wonderful and I think this accountability group is just the thing I need to keep me on track. Have a great night ladies!

Hi everyone
I hear its beautiful here too but I'm not outside so I wouldn't know :(

As for replacing sugar, I was craving something sweet after lunch today and realized that I had packed a banana. It actually hit the spot!

Its tough to stick with this for the long haul. I remember hearing once that we give ourselves time to learn new skills like learning a new language, or playing music. However, when it comes to weight loss we think we should be perfect the moment that we start. Be sure that your goals/reasons are clear and written somewhere you see them regularly.

I'm fighting fatigue and boredom today and trying not to eat my way through it. Just another hour at this job before heading to the other one. That will then elimate my window of opportunity for eating so that's good.

My official weekly WI is tomorrow, think i'll only be down .5-1lb but lost 2lbs last week so that's okay.

Do or do not, there is no try.

You are 100% right, and I'm not going to even try and argue the point, because at this point and time, I'm not trying very hard when it comes to eating.

I have been doing better with my breakfast this week, it hasn't been any fast food, even though it's only Tuesday. One of my goals this week is to go w/out a Dr. Pepper and NO fast food for breakfast. So far, so good on that goal.

I need ideas for elminating sugar from my diet . . . that seems to be one of my biggest problems right now. Any ideas?

I think the key word in your post is the word "diet." Is this just a diet to you or a lifestyle change? Diets are temporary, lifestyle changes are for, well, life.

If you want to just eat whatever I'd sit back and really take a look at what you're eating. Are you eating "diet" foods or finding ways to prepare foods that you enjoy normally but in a healthier way? For example...the typical diet does not include tacos, pizza, etc...but those are things I love, love, love. I'd be crabby if I couldn't get them! So, I found ways to eat what I enjoy without adding to the waistline.

Consistancy, consistancy, consistancy! That's my new motto.

"Progress - Inch by inch life's a cinch. Yard by yard, life is hard."

It is so hard to stick with a "diet", I know my eating habits are my biggest problem, yet I don't do anything about it.

I need to make small changes and after each one becomes a habit, change something else. I know what I need to do, I just need to do it!

Went to the park yesterday with the kids for a couple of hours. We walked there. I was doing really well tracking everything, but then got lazy. So I will get back on track today with that. I work tonight, so that is my activity for the day as I am usually on my feet running around for most of the 8 hours I am there. I am having a tough time wanting to stick to a diet at all. I am getting crabby about it and want to eat everything in site. Any tips??

Well I just did lunch (Subway tuna sammy without cheese) and tracked the rest of my food for today. I was over in calories by 200...bummer. So I adjusted my dinner and snacks that I haven't had yet and now I'm in my calorie range but a bit below where I want my protein to be. It's okay though...tomorrow is another day!
