Went for a pretty paddle today through the Seneca-Cayuga Canal. (First time I have been through locks. What fun!) We were supposed to do 8 more miles on the lake, but it got aborted when of our party capsized. He just didn't have the skill set to continue, so we called it a day. But it was a blast!
We got some fall paddling in this weekend on Fremont, MI's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Lakes. We made it through the little canal to get to 4th Lake and paddled over to the Geocaching spot on the lake - you can get there only by a water craft or swimming. It's called The Farmboy and the Teacher. The fall colors are great right now.
Just got back from paddling the length of Lake Chautauqua... a little chilly, but a lot of fun! They said it would be 20 miles, but GPS said 17.5 miles. We stopped for lunch, so it took nearly 6 hours.
I try to go kayaking at least once a week. There is a nice lake about 10 miles from my house. I love kayaking, something about paddling on the water makes your stress from the days at work disappear. I have a little Jack russell terrier Skip that absolutely loves to go. I just have to say the word "boat" and he is ready to go have some fun with his favorite people. And I am trying to go more since the Fall weather is a perfect time to go.
I will also be out on a river in our kayaks this Sunday with my son and some friends. We're trying to get in as much kayaking time as possible before it gets too cold. We also have plans for a weekend trip in a couple more weeks where we'll be kayaking and trail riding on our bikes. When it's too cold for kayaking, I'll be back to hiking, my other favorite outdoor activity.
Enjoy on Sunday!

Just back from a long bike ride along the Erie Canal. Enjoyed it tremendously, but missing be out in the boat. Plans on Sunday to take the Kayak out - there's a flat spot to launch not too far from home.
Anyone else have weekend boating plans?? How about any outdoor plans for exercise?
