Nancylee, I just bought these two DVDs that are called the Power Series, one is a 20minute, 1 mile walk, the other is a 30 minute walk/jog that's supposed to be 2.5 miles
I'm not sure I like them that much. I find that my heart rate doesn't really get as high as when I actually jog outside, but at least it's some exercise, especially when the weather's bad or when nursing an injury so I'm going to hang on to them.
Do you have a lot of her DVDs? Are some better than others?

I hear you KIN59Vera - When I walk in the morning it is so dark and with the cutbacks in $$$ there are no streetlights. Please be safe while walking.
SPRINGTIME, TY for reminder - I have to get that DVD

I did a Leslie Sansone DVD yesterday, I figured if my leg started to hurt I could just stop and wouldn't have to get back home from somewhere out in the neighborhood.
Well the leg feels fine today, so I think I'll be going for a long walk this afternoon.

Was able to get several good walks in this week. The dog loved it! The time change really impacts the walking as it is dark now when I get home from work.

I can't wait until next week starts, my leg is feeling better (I'll give it a couple more days to be sure), and I'm ready to re-commit to my regular exercise routine.

Hi all. My name is Taryn and I am new to this team and fairly new to SP. I love walking. I walk at least an hour every day. I already signed up for the December challenge as well. I am hoping that I soon see some numbers moving down on that scale.

Nancy,
Thanks. I did a light 15 minute walk yesterday, and it didn't seem to strain it, so I might try the same thing today. It's feeling much better today, but I know it's still not healed. Yesterday I didn't even do any yoga, this morning I did a light stretching routine.
I think I overdid it on Sunday: did some strength training in the morning, went to the driving range and hit a bucket of golf balls in the afternoon, then came home and went for my fateful run.
It's killing my to not do any aerobic exercise, but I know its the best thing for the muscles to let them totally heal before I try to use them again.
C'est la vie!

SPRINGTIME,
I hope you are doing better today and you just moved the wrong way. Everything I have read about muscle pulls says don't push it.

I went for a run/walk yesterday and bent down to adjust my shoelace on my left foot. I stood up and took a step forward to start jogging with my right foot and pulled my calf muscle. I walked the rest of the way home (and cut the workout short so I wouldn't make the injury worse).
Funny thing is, this morning it's the back of my thigh that hurts, not my calf! Any ideas on what I actually injured and how to nurse it back to health?
I thought I'd go for a light walk today (nothing fast, just my normal walking pace) to keep things loose, but I don't know if that's even a good idea.

TEAM
Can't wait to hear progress updates and what and how you are going to reward yourselves.
We have some awesome runners/walkers here. I know I hit a major topic each week - but it may not always hit what you need. I am going to try a test challenge in addition to the weekly - called Team Challenge Tag. I will put a sign up for it and then someone will post a friendly team challenge for 2 weeks. It could be an area that you need challenging in, an area I haven't covered - I don't/can't meet the needs of every member - so this is your chance!!! Sign up. Simple, small, fun in your area of interest to the team - GO FOR IT - It will also be gtreat to get other's perspectives.
Here is the link to the Dec. Goal stting challenge - even if you just read the posts. Are you going to sign up??
