Hiking/backpacking. I reckon that's included in your 'etc', eh? I'm just starting to do a generic leg strength routine - squats, leg curls, straight leg extensions, but don't know how this will transfer to the skiing yet.
Powder days work best for me. :-D One or two powder days where I can't resist skiing from lift opening to closing usually lights my legs on fire for hours, but tunes my legs up for the rest of the year. :-)
