Welcome Katie, It takes a very special kind of person to raise those grandkids fulltime. 2 1/2 year old twins! I'm sure your days are filled with challenges but also many Kodak moments. This is a great group. Just read the posts when you can and jump in with whatever you want to comment on.

Hi Again, Thanks Jenna for the welcome. I definately feel like this is the team for me. I'm 62 & I don't really relate to some of the other teams. And I like knowing we are all female. I love my women friends and I feel like I have just found a bunch of new ones! Thanks to all of you for your sharing. I'm encouraged that it's actually possible to reach my goals - even at this age.

Good to have you aboard. I have 4 children and 11 grandchildren who are unfortuately in different countries - you are so blessed to have yours nearby and with you. You have joined a wonderful group - people here will cheer you on when you succeed and listen when things just don't seem to be going great. Good luck.

It is so great that you can be there for your grandbabies. Even with all the work they are such a blessing. There is a special place in heaven for those who take on rasing their grandchildren. And with what you are doing for them I am glad that you are doing something for yourself too. I have lost 15 of my 70 and I am starting to feel so much better.

GranKat, Welcome!!!! I do think that you are wonderful grandparents!!!! This is a difficult task, as I have been telling my children who are grown that it is more difficult the older that your children are, as a parent you always worry and when things do not go well with them you always try to be there for them and then you are given grandchildren and the worrying goes on and on. But you are terrific to take on this, I do think if it were necessary that my husband and I would make the same choice. You are special grandparents, your grandchildren are very blessed. Blessings, Diana
Baby steps, one at a time, and you will achieve your goals. Never, Never give up.
Kat, I can relate to how "busy" grandkids are! Ours run us ragged (in a good way), but we get to take them home... My hat's off to you for what you are doing. I joined last week & I think this is my second post, but I'm really enjoying everyone's words of encouragement. Have a great week.
Hi my name is Katie. I joined SP about a week and a half ago. I'm 52 and need to lose about 70lbs, give or take a few. I've been married to my wonderful husband for almost 4 years and between us we have 5 grown children. Together we are raising my 2 1/2 yr old twin grandchildren (a boy and a girl). We've had custody for about 6 1/2 months, plus 4 months a the beginning of last year. They are definitely a challenge and more than a handful.
