Oh no, 11 months, how frustrating! Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I was celebrating the beginning of a new stage, but after 4 months without, I got the period from he!!. Hope this doesn't happen to many more times. Doing the countdown with many of you. Deb

Thank you all for your positive comments, I am looking forward to June 7, 2013 lol. I have found that since I have been actively watching what I eat the night sweats have gone away. I may also try the strawberry leaf tea - cohosh didn't work for me.

I had the same experience but finally I reached my year, actually it has been 18 months now. The last gap was 10 months and my "friend" visited. Then no more! It does end!

I have been through this. It was rough, but I managed to make it without too much help. I did drink strawberry leaf tea for the hot flashes and it help with the night sweats some. I have been thru this for over 15 years, but occassionally I still get the night sweats occassionally, maybe once every two or three months for about two nights in a row.
Keep on track

I haven't had to many problems yet. I take mostly just over the counter stuff to keep my temper down, and really only around the old "that time of the month" time. The hot flashes come and go and I've had 2 or three night sweat times. I had breast cancer so I am told that getting hormone treatment is out so I am doomed to suffer when it finally hits hard. I have tried Amberen that is advertised on the radio but I think the over the counter stuff works just as well so...???

Hi Julie..... with loosing that old friend of yours!!! Did you suffer through the night sweats & hot flashes too?? I am trying to figure out what to do for mine. I was on HRT but it got way too expensive each month. Also have tried black cohosh and some other OTC type products with no help in these matters.

I did the same thing. Went 9 months...then started again. Then went probably almost a year and started again! Arrrggggghhh! ha! I am now "friend" free for almost 3 years and I am a happier person for it. My only problem now is my weight. So once that is down to where it should be and I keep it down I will be even happier.

When does it end? 11 months and starting to count down the days until I reached my year. I wake up this morning to discover my "friend" (as my Mom used to call it) had come to visit :( So here I am with cramps and back to 365 days to go again. Oh well, I will do some extra walking today to work out those cramps I guess.
