I didn't have to watch my weight until the kids all left home & we moved off the ranch. Didn't have all the running around. I quit smoking, I did it with God's grace as I did not suffered the withdrawal & had tried to quit several times before. But am having trouble losing the weight. One day at a time!
kasyra So glad to have you on board. This is a very supporative group and so kind. I too am losing the weight before stopping smoking, but not going as quick as I would like. Oh my what a wonderful bunch of grands you have. I am in South Carolina.Where in North Carolina are you. Good luck on your goals. Dee
I lost my sex drive after I broke my pelvic in 4 places and everything hurt bad. But I noticed that my husband's sex drive dipped to a third when I gained the 35 pounds. I was always thin. 108-112 until 3 years ago. I still have problems seeing myself in the mirror and wondering who it is. You might try a gell/cream you smear on your thighs called Estrogel. It is a lot safer than pills and it help the sex drive and hot flashes etc. Ask your gyno. I was discouraged today because I was up a pound and almost felt like giving up but I didn't. The hardest thing is how long it takes to lose it. We are all going to make it!!! Thanks for the support.
Hello Kasyria, Welcome to the team. I too am fairly new. Joined 2 weeks ago. This site is fantastic. I can't say enough good things about it. I also belong to 50+Canada and TOPS Canada. The help and support from all three teams is great.
Wishing you all the best and again, welcome.
Kindest regards, Dorothy from Mississauga, Ontario Canada
Thanks for the welcome. I think I'm going to like it here. I just love the grandbabies to death, but they all live on the West Coast and I'm here in North Carolina. My husband and I moved from Los Angeles about 1 1/2 years ago.

to a fun-loving, resourceful bunch of people. Your story is very familiar, many of us gained our weight after or during menopause and like you I have little energy (just try to keep going), and as for sex drive - what is sex????
I'm not sure if the lack of sex drive has more to do with hormone levels or how we think of our body - I do know that one seems to go with the other so probably a bit of both.
I think you are wise not go quit smoking and change your whole lifestyle at the same time. Hopefully as you start feeling better, more energy etc. the smoking will just fall away naturally. One can always hope.
I'm 58, a mother of 4, and a grandmother of 11 and I thought I was doing well but 17 wow that's great - don't you just love spoiling them and doing everything their parents can't. My time to get even --- smile, smile, grin, grin.
I live in Canada but have been spending a lot of time in the States right now. Love it here but am looking forward to being at home base again.
Take care Jenna

The most important story we will ever write in life is our own - not with ink, but with our daily choices!
Hi, I am brand new today. I stumbled onto this site today and very excited about putting all the FREE resources to use. Since my hysterectomy 2 years ago, I have put on 35 pounds, have no energy and lost my sex drive(probably because I don't feel good about my body). I would also like to quit smoking but have to drop the weight first. I'm 52 and a grandmother of 17 and live in North Carolina.
