Congrats on another one pound loss and to a total loss of 20.6 pounds!

BACKYARDER1:
Hey, for not expecting to see a loss, you did pretty darn good! Congratulations on taking off two pounds. You're so right; it is great for the morale!!!

Margaret (STARRY-EYEDGIRL):
Congratulations on your 27 pound loss since being with SP!!! Thank you for your thank you!

Pat (LEELEEPOO):
WooHoo!!!! Congratulations on taking off two and a half pounds!

CASTERINASPELL:
Way to take off two pounds! Being able to show a weight loss after eating the birthday cake shows that we can still have goodies; we just have to remember portion control and the amount of goodies we eat. As for the two out of three weigh-ins; you betcha! Hey, I only weigh myself first thing in the morning, after my potty run, before eating or drinking anything, and in the nude!

Susan (SUESMITH73):
Congratulations on taking of 1.2 pounds this week.

MYPICCOLO1:
Congrats on the one pound loss and your being down five pounds since joining SP!

BUDDYSANGEL:
And, way to take off another 1.5 pounds!!!!

emoticon down 2 lbs. this week! I'm SO psyched - even with DH's birthday (going out to eat) and baking him a carrot cake, I still managed to lose! This first time I got on the scale, I was down 2.5, but I didn't believe it so I took the more reasonable third try. I can't believe that my glasses and pajama top added an extra pound! Does anyone else do this - take the best 2 out of 3 weigh-ins emoticon ?

I'm terrible at math - can someone do the tally for me? I don't want to screw it up for everyone else.

Wow! Joining the bootcamp and the Couch to 5K Training--And, I thought I was doing well with joining the bootcamp! I would have thought the extra exercise would help keep you from gaining; however, depending on how much over on the calories you were could make the difference. Getting back within the calorie range, continuing the exercises, drinking eight to twelve cups of water daily, and getting eight hours of sleep should take off that gain in no time.

JANEXA:
Congratulations on losing 0.6 pounds this week. Glad the water drinking helped.

I lost 1.9kgs (4.2lbs) last week.
Now before I go and mess up the tally, can I just check whether it is correct for me to add my total weight loss since joining SP? I haven't added or subtracted any weight figures as yet since joining this team.
My total loss since joining SP in Nov 2009 is 9.9kgs(21.8lbs).

I have been doing the bootcamp + couch to 5K training. I had a gain this week of .9 (hope it is muscle) I did go over my calorie range a few times this week though. I will hope for a loss next week.

Thanks for the encouragement! The nice thing is that even with a change of insulin (went from 1 injection in the evening by vial to 2 times a day with an insulin pen), just by staying on Weight Watchers and getting in all my daily points and also getting in the 35 Weekly Points Allowance, my weight losses have been better.

I think I made an error though, I subtracted the weight loss instead of adding to the total.

Here is the corrected total:

3969.55 + 7 = 3976.55 emoticon

Sorry you didn't see any loss this week; but, you're right, after such a great loss last week (7 pounds), that's okay. You may not lose weight every week, and especially that much; some of us would be happy to lose that in a month (or even two!).

Janet (JANEXA):
You're welcome. Though I usually try to scroll down to my last posted message, I some times don't too. I had already posted your weight gain, which is subtracted (weight loss is added); so, I deducted the 0.4 from the total. If that's a loss of the 0.4 pounds that you'd gained, then please readd it.

Thanks for the explanation, Kat. I was too lazy to scroll down for the specifics. I am pretty sure it was water because my scale says that my water % is higher than last week.

In any case, here's the tally with my weight gain after after Katie's post:

3969.55 +0.4 = 3969.95

Yup, we gotta report gains as well as losses (Scroll down a few messages and you'll find the basics for posting on this thread.).

Hey, it may be water. I wish my pants would do fall off of me!

In the tally, I picked up the 3.2 (rounded off) loss from last week and this week's 0.4 gain (sorry, but it does happen).

If you find your body retaining water, drink more of it.

I'm new, and want to know if we are supposed to post only weight losses? If not, I gained 0.4 # after losing 3.19999 lbs the week before. It could be water b/c my clothes, especially my pants, are falling off of me this week. Had to use suspenders today! lol

GATOR15:
Congratulation on losing two pounds; and also, a big WOOHOO on your cutting down on the coke drinking! The headaches are probably caffeine withdrawals; glad to read they're subsiding.

BUDDYSANGEL:
Congratulations on taking off another four pounds!!!!! Sorry to read about your computer crashing; but, glad you were able to get on line at the library. I hope you get your computer up and running soon. Way to keep your eating at the luncheon!

SUESMITH:
Way to take off 1.2 pounds! Keep up the great loss!

SUSIEQUE7:
Walking is a great cardio exercise. Try to change your pace throughout the walk. Also, don't forget to start off slow, and end the same way; warm up is important! I sent you a private message with more suggestions; I hope you find them useful.

DIANNIEJ, STARRY-EYEDGIRL, and KATIEJO5:
Thanks for responding to SUSIEQUE7's question about the walking. KATIEJO5, I may give the Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home video a try; thanks for the suggestion. It's through members like you that all of us will learn. Thanks again!

STARRY-EYEDGIRL:
Congratulations on losing 2.6 pounds! You're doing great!

WERECAT5.0.
Glad you stopped by; hope your weigh-in will show some good results.

MACINPAK:
WooHoo to the three pound loss! Hey, don't let that mess up get you off track. Take a look at what caused the mess up and try to make adjustments the next time that the same circumstance arises (because it will). As you said, you'll do better for you, your mom, your grandkids, and your daughter's wedding. Do make changes that will be for the rest of your life; think of this as a journey to a healthier lifestyle and not just a diet.

Kat

It's a great idea to create a new thread for the Weigh In - Group Weight tally; the page will most certainly load faster.

Since many of you may be just joining the Weigh-In thread, I thought it might be a good idea to mention the basics for tracking our weigh-ins:

1. Please post the current tally with each post.
2. All weight losses (added to tally) and gains (subtracted from tally) are done manually.
3. If this is your first time for posting here, you can count the total loss since joining SP.
4. If you catch an error, please correct it asap. So that someone else can check too, please note where the error is from.
5. If someone asks a question, please respond if you have time; if you have a question and no one has responded, ask again.

Thanks,

Kat

SusieQue, You are right, walking would be a great way to get started. Low stress on your joints and very easy to ease into and then bump up the pace when you are ready. You might want to look into Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home DVD's for those days when you can't walk outside. Her chatter can get on my nerves, but I like the way she adds other movements to the workout to pull in more muscle conditioning.
Best of luck on your journey to fitness! emoticon

I lost 1.2kgs (2.6 lbs)last week.

SUSIEQUE7 I started out walking like Diane, then, after a couple of weeks I added types of exercise that I enjoyed doing. I prefer to vary my cardio and strength training, to keep myself interested. My dog is a great personal trainer!

SUSIEQUE7, I started with walking and lost 50 pounds last year. Walking remains my primary excercise. Having a good walking buddy makes it easy to stick with it.

I had a 4 pound loss this week. My computer died on Tuesday night and I'm at the library checking up on my email. We had a catered lunch at work yesterday (pulled pork barbeque and coleslaw on hamburger buns). I accounted for this under Weight Watchers and counted my points, but kept the amount I ate to a moderate amount as I didn't want to mess up my good loss this week.

Have a good weekend!!
