Every time I go in the grocery store, prices seem to be HIGHER than they were my last trip. The REALLY SAD part about that statement is: sometimes my last trip was only 1 day earlier!
It is a vicious cycle, too; bc the GAS prices are also rising, so HIGHER GAS...HIGHER FOOD costs. My friend in Ohio was SHOCKED to hear cherries (she was EATING cherries at the time) cost $6.99 lb. here. Another friend wanted scallops. They are $17.99 lb. She said she'll PASS!
My husband & I were watching TV last night & "TWINKIES" will be back on the shelf! They are said to be "smaller"; but the price will still be $2.99 a box. They SAID the price DIDN'T go UP; but I told my husband IT DID; bc NOW you get LESS product for the same money!
It wasn't a SMART MOVE to cut the food stamp program with sky rocketing food prices. We can't be PASSIVE about this; but I have no solution.
