I saw a bit of an interview by Tyra banks of Phelps and her two young daughters. The hate that radiated out of them was palpable. Tyra tried to corral them and work in some logic. Didn't work. They are so CONVINCED that they have the truth about God's work that nothing else is going to touch them! They think that all bad things - mass murders, Katrina, Sandy - are the work of God to show us that America is being condemned for our embracing same sex marriage. Sickening!
What you put your focus on you will get. Think of what you DON'T want and you'll get more of it. Think only of what you DO want and that's what will come!
There is a petition going around to have them declared as a "hate group"...as usual, they showed up and was outnumbered and blocked by good samaritans...that hacker group, Anonymous, posted their personal info (address, emails, etc) online and they have been getting bombarded with people who are disgusted with and by them...
I still hate they get any type of media but I guess the "good thing" is that when folks know they are coming to town, they mobilize and run them away...their "leader" is a former civil rights attorney (I know) so I am sure he has it set up to where they are benefitting from tax loopholes...

I am absolutely disgusted to learn that the Westboro Baptist "Church" is still tax-exempt. Their screed is the polar opposite of the teachings of the Jesus they claim to worship. Now they claim that God engineered the Newtown school massacre. MY God doesn't murder babies. I'm sorry to hear theirs does. but that totally rules out any semblance to Christianity (or just about any other major religion, come to that).
They are a hate group, pure and simple. It's past time to stop funding their poison with the taxpayers' money.
