Here is Graham's actual speech, if you can stomach it: www.jbu.edu/news/franklin_graham_2011/?r=f
He was so obsessed with the Native American blessing at the beginning he went straight into the "only thru Jesus can you be saved" tirade and admonitions that we are all going to hell ...
I wonder if he knows that Gabrielle Giffords is Jewish, and who knows what beliefs are held by the other victims and people who survived that horrible day? He complains about people "scoffing" ... well, I don't scoff Christ, but I have nothing but disgust for people like Graham. In his speech he referred to Sodom & Gomorrah ... as if to say those who conducted the memorial were of the same ilk, nevermind the almost unavoidable connection it brings to mind with someone like myself and other LGBT folks.
No, I don't turn my back on anyone's beliefs ... if there is a God, I believe we're all praying to the same one regardless of what names we attach to him/her/it. But I most certainly do turn my back on these ignorant fire & brimstone preachers who go around the world pushing their religious beliefs on others. When the culture rejects them and they get killed, then they call themseves martyrs. I just call them stupid.

“Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?' Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?' But conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?' And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but because conscience tells one it is right.” ~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
