It's interesting how they keep overlooking the words "well-regulated militia" in the Second Amendment, isn't it?

"...there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for."

"We're children of a fighting race that never yet has known disgrace." (The Soldiers' Song, Irish national anthem)

"Every day above ground is a good day." (Chef Justin Kennedy of New Orleans, on Chopped)

I TOLD y'all SP plants ads in specific places! There's an ad on the top of my page right now that says "Hillary supports Global UN weapons ban ... sign the petition" (to stop it) ... wtf???????????

If I can get the screen shot, I'm sending it to the coaches and asking them to block this politically ratty advertising!

Yeah, but they forget they aren't the only ones who exercise their "second ammendment rights" ... emoticon , albeit, without the advantage of training with militia groups ... of which there are now 500 in the U.S. while there were only 180 in 1994? (I think that was the year)

The question I always think of is what the heck do they think they can do against our military without actually getting the military generals on their side??? The Pres. could still unleash smart bombs and wipe them out in a heartbeat, right????????

I wonder if they've thought that far ahead ... or maybe we have SPIES already planted in their midst to rat on them ... yeah, we prolly do ...

You and me both, Sistah ... wish I had a penny for every letter/email I've written telling Obama and my reps [Quigley, H(D); Burris & Durbin Sen (D)] to pass on the same message ... I just sent the 2 senators a letter on the finance reform bill along with some suggestions for countering the GOParty of NO with reconciliation clauses in all future bills and to personally deliver a message to McConnell that his charades, games, & political posturing is all quite transparent to me as well as everyone I network with ... Durbin particularly is not shy about standing up and giving them some lip.

Well, knowing that this is coming from the mouth of one who no longer lives in the US... staying there to fight for the country would be better.

I know. I know. But you have no idea how many times recently I've wished I still lived there, so I could actively do something. But after 22 years and a career, it's not easy to just pull up and move back. But the country is worth fighting for and worth keeping from these growing numbers of extreme right wingers. My own mother was far right wing and I know the song and dance well - especially the one about the republic vs. the democracy. Would she have been a tea-partier? I don't know.

Their rhetoric is insipid but it's contagious to the others. And our voices are needed to continue to put reason back where it has died.

We need to keep our voices there telling Obama to stop pandering to "the other side of the (friggin') aisle." Unfortunately it's a damnably dangerous thing to do - and it's losing him the base he was elected by.

I repeat ad nauseum: do the right thing, Obama. The right is never going to be your friend or ally. But doing the right thing, being progressive, is the only thing that will bring this country back to life: economically and mentally.

Whenever possible, be kind. It's always possible.

This article echoes exactly the things that have been going through my mind now since I started encountering more and more of these rigorist-type "christians" insisting that this is a "Christian country" and refusing to refer to it as a democracy in preference to a republic ... it all seems totally stupid ... but given how Bush ran this economy into the ground ... I cannot help but think of how (forgive me for sounding like Glen Beck) Hitler used the same circumstances to rise to power and how many people, until it was too late, thought of him as a "funny, silly man."

Didn't we all think Boosh was a "stupid, funny, silly" man too?

Just look at how tight the polls are in these races with tea party kooks running against incumbents ... at the moment it actually is looking like Angle could actually beat Reid in spite of all the garbage that comes out of her mouth. Here in IL we've had 10 yrs of Kirk in the 10th district (not Obama's seat as many think is up for grabs) leading by about 10 pts. over Genoulias even after all his lies regarding his military and teaching backround have been revealed. He's made people forget all about the Bloomenthal "in" vs. "during" Vietnam statement ... which only happened once .....

I keep saying I need to research the most "livable" & affordable other places on the planet, and I think I'd really better start seriously looking into it.

I truly wish we could ignore these people, but I know that we can't. This is especially true here in Nevada w/this Angle woman running against Reid.
