Thanks all for your replies. I am listening to Shrub speak right now. Ugh. The man is insane. I should not be listening to this because it makes me so mad. I live south of Houston. Houston is actually becoming more urban and more democrat. The burbs around Houston, well Tom DeLay came from Sugarland, so I don't think much more should be said. San Antonio is an odd mix of Hispanics and retired military. It has a more democratic popluation.

Welcome Molly! Hubby and I want to retire to San Antonio someday - we just love it there. They'll just have to live with a few more liberals in the area! Is it regional in TX? One of the ladies I work with has a brother that lives there, I wish I could recall the city, and she said that in his area they are true shrub haters and seem to have a good mix of political ideologies. Like MI is a blue state but it's very regionalized. The west side is red, the east is blue.

I lived most of my whole life in North Texas in a region called Oklahoma. We finally moved to escape the oppression.

A Democrat in Texas? I never heard of that! (just kidding). How do you survive? I'd go crazy living in a RED STATE. I think I'd be thrown out.

Wow. I can't believe I found this board. I moved to Southeast Texas a few years ago when I got married. I think I am the only Democrat here.
