I'm with you. I don't think that our system works as long as the campaign finance rules are how they are. It is truly government for sale by the lobbyists, dorporations, etc. We do have, as Mark Twain observed "the best government money can buy." What a disappointment...

The cynic in my head is saying, "We (the world) are run by big business, so who, especialy a president, really has the power to change much?"

My cynic believes in conspiracy theories sometimes to so....?

I never miss Bill Maher. I think he was pretty right on with this one. (Although it's the media who must take the blame for putting him on T.V. every 60 seconds). I don't know if he needs to turn in to the spoiled frat boy that we just got rid of, but he could get a lot tougher on the things he PROMISED TO CHANGE!

I'm watching Keith now on the DVR, it was a good story and I congratulate him for calling Obama out on this. There are lots of these "inconsistencies" such as the DOJ response to the Defense of Marriage Act court action, the lack of real progress on much of the alleged change and agenda we were promised.

It looks like empty promises, designed only to get elected. I loathe that old fool McCain and the wooden headed Alaska governor...but I am not happy with this Administration so far. I want comprehensive work on the economy, reregulation of the banks, financial sector and Wall Street. I want big cuts in military spending. Unfortunately we are already pandering too much to the right and the middle, I guess for the mid-term election. I am tiring of the waiting...

I heard this on COUNTDOWN and had to clear my head out to make sure I wasn't having another nightmare. I really don't understand this man at all.
I would much rather have Obama in the white house than McCain (did you hear that repiglican bozo raving about the Iranian elections?), but this act coupled with some of his other breaks with the constitution and laws in general have me wondering if there is ever hope for true government of the people, by the people, for the people.
