BEV...hope the odds are in our favor. I'm still leary of the precedents that were set in that "election".

You and me both. We need the dems in control for a while. I'm actually quite a bit more optimistic now, seeing some of these numbers (even the early voter turn outs) are sure brightening my day.

I just wanted to add to the original thread that I really admire what the Clinton's are doing for the Obama campaign. I'm not going to be able to watch the half hour infomercial that is supposed to air tonight so I sincerely hope that some of you get to.

I figured he was some sort of plant, too... then again, Dubya wouldn't even let Dems come to HIS 'public' events.

I am really, really hoping for a sweep of the White House and Congress. It would mean that, finally, the public has rejected Bush's policies, and both parties would stop trying to use them (KY is full of DINOs).

I just heard Joe the plumber on Foxnews... Why is this guy still around? He's on a press tour!!!

Ok so the guy stopped Obama and asked a question... And truly it was McCain who brought Joe The Plumber into the spotlight a few days later in the debate, so wasn't his 15 minutes up the following day?

Joe the Plumber is also Joe the Foreign Policy secretary as well.. Asked if voting for Obama is a vote against Isreal, Joe stated "yes it's a vote for death of Isreal" (I paraphrased)...

I guess Joe the Plumnber has more foreign policy experience then Gov Palin, after all he can see Cleveland from his porch

I've noticed her distancing herself as well. I feel as though McCain is disappointed in his running mate, or that she's doing this intentionally with some alterior motive.

The way McCain has backed off on his attacks leads me to think he might have accepted defeat and is trying to go down with some grace and dignity.

Now Gov. Palin seems to be a loose cannon; she seems to be campaigning for her own gain rather than the ticket at this point. It will be interesting seeing what she tries to leverage from this election (assuming McCain/Palin looses).

I hope that Obama wins by large enough a margin that there will be no recount option.

I'm with you BETRME100, I hope the margin is HUGE so the McCain campaign will realize they never really had a chance.

Well, in Florida at least, Katherine Harris (ooooooohhh)is no longer a part of our political scene and Jeb Bush has gone on to screw other people.
Governor Crist is only worried about his suntan but he could break bad at any moment. He got really mad when McCain picked the moose woman.

I don't doubt that, if it's close, there will be recounts. My hope is that Obama will win by a large enough margin that it won't matter.

Have you heard of the movie "Recount"? It's been showing on HBO this month. I haven't been able to watch it beginning to end but it shows the insanity of the Florida recount and I don't think it will be taken so lightly again. I think this time, someone will make sure the counts are done right! (I hope and pray!)

I've been paying closer attention to the news the last few weeks and I've noticed an increasing air of pessimism toward the impending election. One broadcaster in particular caught my attention when he said '...only two weeks until there are recounts all over the nation..'
Now, I'm in the same boat with many of you...in no way shape or form did I feel like Al Gore did the wrong thing. In fact, I still feel robbed from all those years ago even stretching it to the point where I think the US SC set a precedent in our election process. I do however feel that Kerry gave up a little too quickly and was slightly disappointed when he didn't make the concession announcement.
All that being said, do any of you think that the counts are just going to be accepted by the "losing" party or is there an inevitable recount in the works?

Your thoughts...
