I let my eyes do the measuring. Trouble is my eyes often get bigger than my true hunger.

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

I have to laugh at the things that say OMG ALL NATURAL ALL ORGANIC and suddenly that means its super healthy for you.

Like muesli bars that are higher in calories than chocolate bars, even have more refined sugars! or breakfast cereals that are so empty, and packed with sugar, you could have a cooked breakfast for less calories+more nutrition easily.

You're so right, junk food IS poison!
Fresh, organic, free ranging duck meat is very healthy and pretty tasty I just found out. So are their eggs. I raise happy, healthy ducks.
QUACK!

8 ) Believing that junk food “in moderation” is OK.

I agree with this and people think I'm stuck up when I say junk food sucks and to leave it alone because it's poison. High Fructose Corn Syrup is nobody's friend.

Awww poor duckies. :(

I'm with Laura on this. The phrase "lots of meat" can mean one thing to one person and one thing to another. Eating too much of one thing isn't a good idea anyway. Our hunter gatherer friends probably ate a large variety of meats and only then when they could kill something. The rest of the time they were gathering veggie foods.

I'm not a scientist by any means but I've often wondered why monkeys aren't touted as good "lab rats" but rats are. I'm not into using any animals for experiments but there's that reality. Rats are known to process things very similar to humans. Maybe monkeys don't.
Just thinking out loud here.

I think eating meat is clean. But of course, including lots of veggies and some fruit is also clean.

There is so much conflicting information out there! YIKES! It seems that most foods in the grocery store causes cancer, so I think I will take my chances eating a high protein diet. With lots of grass-fed, antibiotic and hormone free meat.

So is 'eating meat' clean eating?

I'm intrigued because I keep wondering why according to 'paleo' people we should consider ourselves 'hunter gatherers' and not, for example, primates. Why use the hunter gatherers as a model and not go further back in our history if we want to look for what is healthy food?
I've also tried to find out what paleo eaters think about the research that seems to indicate that eating a lot of meat causes cancer. So far I didn't get any answers.
