Yeah Neutrogena needs to do something about their mess because if you look them up on EWG they are atrocious.

I read somewhere...I should have kept notes...that there is no proof that parabens causes cancer or whatever and that when companies take parabens out of their products the shelf life of the products are shortened...therefore these products need to be discarded and replace therefore this is a marketing ploy to make these companies even more money. So when they put "paraben free" on products they are advertising to make more money.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I tend to go for products that say paraben free if it's available, but I don't hoard skincare anyway so I end up having to repurchase anyway. As far as makeup...I use makeup all the time and yeah I'm sure there are parabens and all kinds of stuff in it, but I don't have time to invest in making my own makeup like I know a few people online I watch do.

And will Unilever remove the GMO fish genes in their slow-churned ice cream that they dump here because no one in Europe will buy it? I think not. Like plastic companies that have substituted BPS for BPA in plastics and advertise that they are BPA free, most will just substitute a different chemical. Profit comes first.

Remember, nobody can go back to the very beginning and make a brand new start, but anyone can start here and make a brand new end.

There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results."

With so many other companies trying to get on the non toxic band wagon and go eco, J&J will more than likely start a huge campaign just to let every body know what they have done. You know the whole "look at us. see how wonderful and caring we are" ..... even though for the past how many year they have been poisoning us with their chemicals. It would be wonderful if every company out there had to get rid of all the toxic crap, I mean EVERY company, regardless of what they made. I bet the cancer rates would drop. ..... But that is just a dream for today's world. Big companies are more concerned about their profits then our health.
Hey remember the movie "CAT WOMAN" with Hallie Berry in it? and that face cream that either made you sick or made your skin like stone? And the chemicals they were putting in the water? ~ sorry, that just kind of popped in to my head. or as my family calls it "shaking the box" ~

Please, Please watch and listen for motorcycles while your out and about!

Well yes, I share your cynicism. I also wonder what kind of other toxic stuff they will put in to substitute for the ingredients they remove.
but this is a start. Shows that the concerns of the consumer do have an impact. We absolutely "vote" every time we make a purchase. If people would stop buying crap then crap would stop being offered...won't happen; too many people just don't give a rip.

Maybe changes like this, especially if a company like J&J make a point of it in their advertising, will wake up some people. I really wonder if J&J will mention it; probably they will just quietly make a few changes so they don't look like they've been poisoning us LOL!

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

all these companies care about is the dollar. My hubby works for a big time food manufacturer and the stuff that they do for a dollar is mind blowing. they never stop to think about the people, just the dollar.
A couple or years ago I started using Physicians Formula which is supposed to "less" toxic than some of the others and Burt's Bees.

Makes me wonder if "safety" drives these companies, or "profit at all cost" when they remove toxins because they see consumers becoming concerned. Actually, I guess I don't really wonder at all.
