I battled Candida for several years until it got under control. Laura's right; gotta get sugar out of your diet. Liquid stevia and other types of stevia are great for sweetening things. You probably need to eliminate all starchy grains (this includes corn) and vegetables (potatoes of all kinds)
There really is life after getting rid of these foods. I thought I was going to cry for months when I was told what kind of diet I had to stick to but I did stick to it. I learned so much about so many foods that I hadn't tried before. Go on line and find others with the same problem and you will get lots of ideas.
Yes, the Paleo way of eating will help a lot! Supplementing with lots of GOOD pro-biotics is a must. Avoid anti-biotics at all costs! You need to build up the good bacteria in your gut to fight off the candida beasties and get them in check.
Google "Candida Diet" and you will get a lot of help. Good luck Eating fermented foods every day will do your body a lot of good.

You could also check on the Primal and Paleo Sparkteams. They naturally don't eat any of the stuff that you mentioned. Except fruit. But they mainly eat meat, veggies and some healthy fats. Also check out marksdailyapple.com as well as other Paleo websites. Here is a link to some Paleo and primal recipes. There should be no grain or sugar anywhere. There may be some recipes with fruit however. recipes.sparkpeople.com/cookbooks.as p? cookbook=353350 Are u allowed to use stevia? Most of my sweet recipes use stevia or stevia/erythrotol blend.
Actually, every recipe I clicked on had something I can't have. I can't have any condiments, vinegar, tamari, peanuts, all dairy, fruit, all grains, smoked meats, even leftovers! That's just to name a few. I really need help, if you can help me. So far, all I can think of is roasted or bbq'd chicken with steamed veggies, and that's going to get old fast. I'm already down. Just when all the gorgeous fruit is on sale. I love summer fruit, and now that's gone!

I've been eating clean for a while now, but I just saw a naturopath/licensed acupuncturist and candida (yeast) was one huge thing that popped up. Basically, if I'm going to get rid of this, I can only eat meat, veggies, and eggs, also, I'm assuming I can have tofu. Everything else is off the table, grains, dairy, bread (of course), fruit, all condiments except fresh lemon juice, vinegar, and the list goes on, but that's the general list.
Does anyone have any suggestions for recipes? I'm committed to this new plan b/c I want to feel better, but I can easily start starving myself if I don't have recipes to follow. If I have to eat the same meals over and over, I will get bored pretty fast.
My practitioner told me to expect to feel moody and agitated because the yeast will be screaming out for something to feed it. Sooooo looking forward to that! I have already started the diet--as soon as I got home yesterday. I had my homemade split pea soup (vegetarian). Eggs this morning, but I also have to be careful not to break the bank with all the nice free-range organic meats.
