Lots of stuff has been said about fermented foods. What sort of fermented foods question do you have? Dairy? Vegetable? Basic what-the -heck-is-the-deal-with-fermented-foods kind of question??

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

Whose post? Gosh. I posted about fermented foods a while ago. Several, I think. Was it the fermented sourdough buckwheat pancakes? A recipe? Or just some info? Maybe ANI posted also???

Thanks Laura!!
Maybe I'll indulge in a little bit of purple taters this week...just a bit. Roasted with butter on top.

Thank you, Laura! That is what I wanted... I thought with the deep color of them they *had* to be better than just a white potato. They are delish! My kids went bonkers for them, too!

This is what I found regarding the nutrition of purple potatoes.

Unlike white -fleshed potatoes, purple potatoes are rich in the antioxidant, anthocyanin. This flavonoid is most often found in blue, red and purple produce such as berries and pomegranates and has been shown to be an immune system booster and aid in the prevention of certain cancers. The purple potato's nutritional value and energy-rich properties have become factors for the potato's explosion in popularity in the late 20th century and early 21st century. Its ability to provide high quantities of vitamins, proteins, and antioxidants has become a valued measure of food security and sovereignty.

They're not purple enough for that. Beets will give a nice colored poo LOL! Roast them along with the potatoes.

I love purple potatoes...just don't do many potatoes of any kind these days. But purple is a great choice especially roasted!

Oh I am in emoticon !!

I got some organic purple potatoes and roasted them in the oven with some olive oil, rosemary and sea salt. I am wondering and was wanting to know if the health benefits are any better than a regular potato? The color was so deep and oh so tasty!!

Any info?
