It's a Rival Crock Pot and it's no longer available. When I get home tonight, I'll get the model number and contact them about the possibility of lead leaching from the crock. It's also interesting that Rival moved the crock pot products to another website.

Depends on what it's made out of I guess. That sounds like a nice cooker. What brand/style is it?

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul

I'm definitely tossing out my oldest crock pot. I got a new one last year with a crock that can be used on the stove top to brown foods and then placed in the cooker. It doesn't have a glaze on it. I don't know if that's good or bad. emoticon

I think I will be ignoring my crock pot for most of the time and just do my pot recipes in my enamel covered cast iron Dutch oven in my oven.

Yes, profit at any cost. I still have a pyrex pot from years ago. Don't think they make them any more though.
