I get my eggs from my neighbor. I often think of raising my own chickens again but don't have the outbuildings like I used to. I'm just reluctant to try a tractor in a real Minnesota winter.

I love fresh eggs. We have our own chickens. Right now I am only getting 2-3 eggs every couple of days, but I do buy eggs from a friend and pay $3 per dozen. Its worth it to me. Knowing she feeds hers organic feed like we do. In the summer we also raise chickens and then butcher them so I know whats in my chickens. Well worth it.

I'm going to get some chickens in the Spring. I need to get my coop built we have a lot of predators around here so it had to be very sturdy.

Well, I don't feel so bad then; I've been paying $4 for mine. Hubby keeps promising to build me a chicken tractor but that hasn't happened yet. We've certainly got the yard space for it; a large field in fact, that isn't doing anything but growing grass and a few apple and pear trees. Chickens would love to root around those rotting fruits!

Hospitals are terrific for traumatic care; for acute care. They do a really, really good job in saving lives when it’s a sudden bleeding emergency. But in terms of chronic care, they’re terrible; (that is) in terms of the illnesses that most people have, endure, that cost the most money, that last the longest and ultimately die from. -Dr. Andrew Saul
